Freesia Academy is a school to help your child learn to control his supernatural powers. More and more children are being born each year with special abilities and are being persecuted and rejected by society, here students will learn to control their powers and be able to use them effectively. The hope is that students will not only be happy with people of their own kind but will feel as though they are normal human beings, just like everyone else.
“…Everything they promise is a lie…
…the school…the Government…
…lies…we are just their tools…”

"These... Things, they are not human,
They are not children,
They do not deserve mercy,
A purge is our only hope."
~Diane Lane, PUSHEM Protester
"Trust no one,
The school is a prison,
Humans want us dead,
The government wants to use us,
If they want to treat us like animals,
Then we will form a pack."

Disclaimer: The original Freesia storyline belongs to Rema, who gave control of it to Faux, who gave it control to enaz, myself, and WhyNotFly. Now it is just me and WhyNotFly.
This is the third chapter of the Freesia storyline. We have about 6 players from the other Freesia stories still with us and are accepting new players. If you join I would recommend reading up on Freesia High (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=50095) and Freesia Academy (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=52024&p=1755637#post1755637) so you can have a better idea of how things work and the story thus far. I understand it's a long read and it isn't necessary unless you want the details, I'll provide a short summary for new players.
Rules
1. Obviously the standard rules of RPA apply.
2. This RP deals with mature subjects but I try to keep this in it's original rating as it was when it was first made so try not to make us go above the PG-13 rating. This or that can happen obviously but try to deal with it in a non brutal, blood and guys, way.
3. Be respectful and kind to all players. You can get into fights with players in the IC but you will be kind and friendly in the OOC.
4. Me and WhyNotFly are the GMs. But this story belongs to all of us and all of you can contribute to the plot, part of what makes Freesia interesting is the fact that we all pitch in and throw great ideas. All players have a say in most matters in this RP.
5. That being said we are not all powerful GMs and what we say is not what necessarily goes. Me and WhyNotFly really just work with the plot, if anyone feels they're being wronged say so and we will definitely adjust accordingly.
6. The minimum posting size is a paragraph, this is because I think that there are situations where you can't type three paragraphs and when you try it just becomes fluff, there's a difference between a high quality post and a long post full of unnecessary details.
7. Our characters are strong (They're basically X-Men after all XD), but make sure that fights are fair. It's up to you how to keep it fair, I trust everyone in the RP.
8. Be active. We had 20 players in the 2nd Chapter of Freesia but a quarter of them didn't post at all in the IC and others quit after three posts. The players we currently have are committed and great and when people drop suddenly in the middle of plot events it can get disruptive and I hate for people to be held up.
9. Expanding on number 8. If you are posting but someone else looks like they may have quit, post without them and move on, I don't want you held back and left behind because somebody else quit.
10. A lot of the players have their own special NPC's. I have one, WhyNotFly has one, VestigeWarrior, and Redd has one. If you want one then by all means PM me and tell me about them and we can find a cool way to include them in the plot.
11. This is kind of oddly placed but make sure to have good grammar.
12. If you're a player who left suddenly for a long period of time then it's likely I did something with your character. That can range from killing them off, they ran away, or they're missing. If you have an issue with this and want to jump back in PM and we'll work something out.
13. If the plot proceeds without you for a month then we'll assume you quit and your character will be disposed of in a manner that seems fit and relevant to the plot.
14. This is a new OOC because things changed since the old one was made but we kept the old IC because we didn't want to lose all that effort we put in the IC.
15. I'll update this OOC as time goes on, for now the important ground work has been laid out.
16. Have fun! I hate writing rules because it makes me feel strict haha I just want you guys to have fun in this RP.
Story Thus Far
Freesia High was initially established by Prudence Freesia in an attempt to help kids with supernatural abilities learn in a normal high school environment. She wanted them to make friends, go to normal classes, and learn to control their powers so they would be able to fit in normal society. It was the only bastion of hope for Metas and it worked. Until the night of the fire.
Near the beginning of the year Freesia High had been conducting power evaluations; a routine thing that all students had to undergo once a year to see how far older students had come along and what to do with newer students. But when one student came for evaluation they pushed him too hard and unleashed a catastrophe.
The student's name was Blake Silverstein; A second year pyrokinetic, but he couldn't control his fire powers. During his power evaluation the staff, specifically Prudence, pushed him and pushed him to use his powers despite his protests and begging not to make him. His pleas fell on deaf ears and eventually he gave in, this was the end of Freesia High.
Once he used his powers he couldn't stop. His body started to heat up and spits of ember flew across the hall. His flesh began to melt away under the intense heat and eventually his fire became out of control. The fire spread across the entire school taking innocent students lives with it. Students watched their friends and family burn before their eyes. After what felt like an eternity in hell, the school rounded up the remaining students and barely escaped alive. As they looked back, the school was burnt to the ground, and Blake's body was never found.
After summer vacation, the Freesia students were called back. Freesia had been rebuilt with more advanced technology than ever before. Both old and new students came but only to find something quite different. The students were met with a military guard force, much stricter rules, and all the things a regular high school student would receive was almost entirely replaced by power training and combat survival classes.
Prudence Freesia had decided to stop teaching the students to be human and have them prepare themselves for what seemed like a war.
But as it turns out, Prudence has never had any control over Freesia. She was merely a figure head for a much more powerful man. Ark, almost no one knows a thing about him except that he's the one who has completely revamped Freesia and is apparently quite well off when it comes to money. Everything in Freesia is his doing. He has a mysterious past, and one that only a few select students know about. Currently he has a class of students whom he handpicked. His intentions are good, but he struggles to control both students and the security force.
Despite these things, the school still failed to keep Metas safe in a crisis. Jack Snider attacked the school, specifically Ark. The whole school went into a panic with students being rounded up by the guards and guns shoved in their face. Defenseless students, simple bystanders, young girls, children, anyone and everyone was taken and their life threatened.
Eventually things reached a boiling point when a young girl, Hazel Dalca, was taken hostage by a guard in an effort to control a group of other students. Her friend, Hikari Kendall, desperately tried to save her, only to be rewarded with a bullet in the head by a nervous guard.
After these events the students split, many still believe in Freesia, others are neutral, and some have decided to form their own resistance group. An attempt to keep any tragedies from repeating themselves.
Freesia is now known to the public, people have banded together and formed PUSHEM. A group that seeks to eliminate all Metas and burn Freesia to the ground and they are rapidly gaining support. But the government is divided, half want to use the students and the other half wants to eliminate them. Nobody is on the Meta's side. Even though there's so much unrest in the world, the student body is kept ignorant of this. Ark has cut off all communication to the outside world in an effort to keep the students calm.
Metas
You are a Meta. Metas are diverse species of human who have special powers; every power being unique to the individual. The science behind Metas isn't quite understood, it seems to be because of a genetic mutation. That being said, the powers themselves are not genetic, while the parent may shoot fire the child may be able to turn invisible; the reason for this is unknown. It is known that while Metas have likely always been around they have recently hit a spike in numbers lately, now for every 1 Meta that was around in the past there are 10 in the present.
While far from a large number they are certainly more powerful than one could imagine.
Freesia Academy
Students: 272
Faculty: 24
Freesia High was a laid back environment, it pretty much just felt like a school. Once Freesia Academy was established this all changed. It's basically a gilded cage, it's pretty on the outside but that's only to hide what it really is and it's true intentions. The guards are strict and carry guns around to enforce rules. Outside communication is strictly forbidden and if you attempt to escape you will be hunted down and brought back, resistance is sometimes met with the 'accidental' execution from guards.
The school does have it's lighter sides though to keep the students happy. There's an upcoming dance for the students to partake in, there's a gym, a chess club, training simulators, and other activities to keep the students occupied. Students may live under the oppressive and watchful eye of the school but it does provide luxuries and a life, something Metas rarely receive.
Eventually I'll have a floor plan. It may sound unimportant now but it will be crucial during the later parts of the RP.
PUSHEM
People's Uprising for the Superiority of Humankind and the Extermination of Metas. A group that has banded together to try and kill Metas. They are basically the KKK of this world, responsible for lynching Metas, hunting them down, ostracizing them. They have seen the evidence of Freesia and want it burned to the ground and the students killed.
They are met with almost zero resistance from the government or the public and has been rapidly gaining supporters internationally. Members range to 4 million and they are almost immune to any and all laws and are in fact encouraged to break them for their cause.
Dorms
The school used to have dorms where you could have a personal room or a roommate but after the fire this was done away with. Now there two dorms, a male dorm and female dorm which resembles a boot camp sleeping hall. Everyone sleeps in the same area for their gender now and is kept under close watch by the guards.
School Schedule
This class attempts to teach you to control your powers and is mainly geared towards using them for whatever your powers are best suited for in a combat situation.
This class is taught by Prudence Freesia and other teachers.
This class is basically P.E. but a bit more fun. Their will be paintball matches, airsoft matches, scrimmage games, capture the flag, and other fun activities. There will also be more serious things, hand to hand combat, weapons training, scouting, stealth etc.
This is an advanced class taught by Ark himself. He teaches the students anything and everything about powers. The history, the science, the chemistry, the psychology, the genetics, this class is hard boiled to make sure that the students will be leaders of our kind. New students that show exceptional ability will receive a letter with a gold seal.
Uniforms
Freesia High didn't have uniforms but once Freesia Academy was established they made a dress code.
During school hours, all students will be required to wear uniforms. The male uniforms will be black jackets with the new school logo emblazoned on them, red shirts, black slacks, and black boots. The female uniform will be black blazers with the school logo emblazoned on them, red blouses, red skirts, and some form of cute black shoe. Female characters may choose to wear black slacks if they wish.
Many students go ahead and wear what they would like. Especially some of the more rebellious ones.
School Logo

Competition/Events
Freesia hosts tournaments, pitting students against each other. These have only been done two vs. two so far but there will also be one vs one. These may be slightly rarer than what was implied in the original one but if everyone wants one then there will be one.
As of right now I'm thinking of other things to throw in.
Student Roster
Ichigo Amaya
http://i58.tinypic.com/1p7bxi.jpg
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Personality: Ichigo has an innocent, but curious personality about her. She has some personalities and traits a fox would hold, such as her high intensity of loyalty, creativity, and passion. Just like the fox, she can come off of being shy, because like the fox, she cannot use brute force to survive in the society and environment provided for her. However through the days of her life leading up to this point, she has indeed grown to be shy. She must use her sharp mind to get by, but she is often quiet and afraid to speak with others. She's afraid that if she says anything she shouldn't, she'd be emotionally punished like when she was growing up. Despite her shy and quiet character, she also is highly adventurous, which goes under her curiosity. She does not live by the rule: "Curiosity killed the cat." She has a certain love for exploring and being out doors. She enjoys anything that will challenge her mind and body, just like the original animal she earned most of her personalities and traits from. Another reason for her fear of speaking, and why she often spends time alone, is because she's afraid to get close to someone and have them tear her emotional sanity apart once again. She longs and wants nothing more than to find good friends and people she can be close to, but living in a human environment made it seem like an impossible dream.
Abilities:
Cell Regeneration:
The process of restoring dead cells to repair minor wounds: regenerating new cells. Occasionally it can be a painful, but strange feeling process as the wound repairs itself. Being that she has not yet mastered this skill, it will leave scars and she can only treat minor wounds.
Zoolingualism:
The ability to speak with any animal big or small. In this ability, she can understand, listen, and communicate with animals. Because of being so different, animals quickly began to be her only friends. They appreciated her because she would often help the animals if they were need.
Background: While Ichigo's mother was pregnant with the girl, her father had committed suicide from the idea of having to raise a girl such as Ichigo. He had first tried to convince the mother to kill herself and the baby after a tail and ears began to grow evident in the sonograms. The doctors had never really seemed to notice, but as Ichigo grew inside the womb, there were less hospital visits, for her mother did not want anyone to find out about her daughter. Ichigo's mother was hit with depression for a few months to years from her husband actually committing suicide, but she quickly began to realize that if he was willing to take his own life because he did not want to raise a girl that was... "different," then it would not be a healthy environment for the girl to grow up in.
After Ichigo was born, her mother gave her love and affection despite the differences the girl held. Her mother tried so hard to keep her daughter happy and healthy, but quickly she began to realize that her daughter will never be normal to the point to where her own mother could no longer accept her as her birth child. When her mother finally gave up, Ichigo was nine. The reason why the mother finally resented her child was because Ichigo had come home with a family of foxes and an injured cub being cradled in her arms. She had claimed that the fox need help, that the family was attacked and now the cub was severely hurt. On this day, she discovered her ability of healing, while she's known about her ability to communicate with animals since she was three.
Her mom quickly made all of the foxes leave, and with them, Ichigo. The foxes had tried comforting her and telling her that she could live with them, however, it was clear she could not. She lived in an orphanage for a while before getting adopted. She was adopted because of her sweet, adorable personalities and looks as a child. Her new mother and father began to resent her when she was thirteen years of age because she was bullied and picked on from her peers for being a "freak." Everyone assumed that the ears and tail were fake, so when she refused to take the "accessories" off, her new parents sent her off once more. However, another cause for being picked on was that she would always be alone speaking with some sort of animal, even rats. Of course members of the PUSHEM had also chased her away in their pursuits to kill her.
When she was sent off once more to live in the orphanage, she decided she could never be normal. She left to live in the forests for about a year with her animal friends before she discovered Freesia Academy. Her friends first sought this place out to see if it was a good environment they'd be letting her stay in, but when they came back to report to her that she should not go, she refused to listen. During the time she's spent with her animal friends, she began to learn their ways and personalities, but the ones she received the most were the foxes' personalities, being that they were her best and most cherished friends.
She left in pursuit of finally being "normal" and accepted in Freesia Academy. She would be known as a new student with a passion to be normal. She did not know of the academy's past, or what was currently happening when she had finally arrived to chase after her dreams of being accepted.
Ezra Benton
http://i57.tinypic.com/9rofhj.jpg
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Personality: Ezra, in a nutshell, is quite, reserved, and often serious to a fault. His upbringing has forced him to be rather cynical at times, which can often be off-putting to those around him. His future was decided for him the moment he became a Meta, and his now burdened with notion that he has to protect other Metas from being abused, mistreated, and killed simply because of they were born. Ezra does not consider himself a hero, being willing to go to great lengths to insure the survival of his species. He has killed, and will kill again if it means protecting a Meta, as long as the Meta deserves protection. Ezra is driven by a secondary objective, to be as strong as he can so that he can complete his mission. He is fiercely protective of those he cares for, and will do whatever it takes to insure their safety.
Abilities: Asterokinesis: Inside Ezra's body is a biological thermonuclear reactor, producing energy the same way a star does. He is able to harness the potential energy produced and stored within his body for a variety of purposes, as well as being able to make moderate changes to his own electromagnetic field and gravity, which he uses to maintain control of his ability.
Telepathic Communication: Ezra displayed this ability in his past as well as the IC, so here's a brief synopsis- He has no real control over this yet, but he'll be working on it during the timeskip. Ezra cannot read minds, but he can establish a connection with people if he concentrates hard enough, through which the two of them can speak. The more distracted he is, the harder it is to understand. Think of it like using a CB radio to communicate long distances. If he pushes himself to migraine status, he can send a thought to several individuals, though they would not be able to communicate back as his head would be pounding by that point.
Background: Ezra was born in the Crimean Peninsula to Russian nationalists. His parents were both involved in a program conceived by the Russian government to train Metas to be soldiers, so that their army would as strong or stronger than any other superpower on Earth. But when his parents stared into his eyes, and into the eyes of his twin sister Iliana, they decided that they could not allow their children to live such a life. They began to pray that their children would not be gifted. Even if they weren't, their father was worried that one day their superiors would come for them, so he began to train them both to be strong, intelligent, and resourceful. Shortly before their 11th birthday, their powers manifested themselves, prompting the family's move out of Europe.
Their journey took them to North America, where they finally settled in Nome, Alaska, where Ezra's power could be hidden by the naturally occurring Northern Lights. Ezra continued to train hard under his father's tutelage, while his sister's natural self-restraint allowed her to skip training and live her life as a normal person did. A misunderstanding involving Kora, Ezra, and Kora's boyfriend Kyle lead to an unfortunate incident left Kyle dead. This caused great tensions between Ezra and his sister, who up to that point had been very close.
Relatively often, Ezra's father would take him across the continent to train in real-life situations, pitting him against oppressive humans and out-of-control Metas. His gave him invaluable combat experience, as well as a bleak outlook on life, the state of the world, and the future of his kind.
At the age of 16, Ezra believed himself ready to venture into the world to begin the mission his father had been training him for. Both parents agreed that he should spend some time away, then return, to make sure he could handle himself sufficiently in the 'wild'. When Ezra returned, his family was gone and a new family had moved in. With nowhere left to go, Ezra made his way on foot to Freesia Academy, where he currently resides.
Kora Benton (Iliana Dmitriyev)
http://i60.tinypic.com/f9oztv.jpg
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Background: Kora is a powerful and dangerous psychokinetic, born with the ability to manipulate inanimate objects using only her mind. She is Ezra's twin sister, one he never talks about, and for good reason. When their powers manifest on the day of their 11th birthday, neither of them understood. She had always been weaker in will and fortitude compared to her brother, so he naturally took on the task of looking out for her. But she began to withdraw when she found difficulty controlling her powers, especially in social situations. It wasn't until around their 13th year that she felt confident enough in her willpower to attempt to be social.
Her first boyfriend, an French-Canadian boy named Felix, was a quiet, thoughtful boy, enjoying writing and reading over physical activities. Kora appreciated his quiet nature, and quickly fell in love with the boy. Their relationship lasted for almost a year, but ended abruptly after a misunderstanding led to an unfortunate incident. She never really got over Felix's death, which has forced some interesting... quirks in her personality to manifest.
Powers: Kora's primary ability is telekinesis. She can, with her mind, manipulate any inanimate object within her reach, which is approximately 30 meters. However, she cannot grab anything capable of active thought (humans, most animals, and the like). She can lift trees, despite their categorization as 'living beings.' She is rather fond of small objects, especially sharp ones, so she is always carrying several marbles, pens, needles, etc.
Recently she developed a secondary ability, which is an ability to manipulate complex electronics. Her telekinesis is extremely fine-tuned, allowing her to use electronic equipment with her mind as long as there is a power source.
Hazel Dalca
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Appearance: She is a little short, and she looks like she is younger than she really is. She has shaggy black chin-length hair and her eyes are light brown. She usually wears jeans, a t-shirt, and a cyan hoodie. Her clothes colors usually don't match due to her inability to see color.
Abilities:
Energy Sensor- She can sense energy, such as heat, sound, and magical energy. What she "sees" is like heat vision, except including more types of energy. So she can see the fuzzy shapes of people, but she can barely see walls and other nonliving objects, due to not much difference in energy between them and their surroundings. She also cannot read without a lot of concentration and effort because she can't decipher light energy well at all.
Auras- She has the ability to see and read people’s auras. This is her main way of telling individuals apart from one another.
Personality: She's quite shy and docile, and easily gets attached to people.
Background: She was 9 when her powers awoke. She had been hiking in the forest with her parents, when an acorn thrown by a squirrel hit her head and caused her dormant powers to awake. The sudden influx of "light" and information in her mind caused her to scream out, and she also lost all her senses other than touch. She learned to use her power to "see," and with time she learned to use her power to "hear." Her parents were understanding and helped her with the things she cold no longer do, and helped her recuperate and adjust, but with her aura reading powers, she could tell that she was making them sad. Recently, her parents, seeing that she's become as able as she'd ever be, decided to send her to Freesia High.
Rebecca Fisk "Depth"
Name: Rebecca Fisk "Depth"
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Appearance: Depth has shoulder length brown hair cut unevenly at the bottom, as if it was chopped off carelessly by a knife. Her eyes, if you ever have the misfortune of seeing them, are a deep brown, but she avoids eye contact in all situations. Plus, she wears a sheer blue blindfold so that she can see through it, but everything looks blue for her all the time. She has a rigid way of standing, like she is at attention, and is always jumpy. Around her right wrist she has a tight metal chain link bracelet with two dog tags hanging off of it that jangle a bit when she moves. One says 'Project Depth' and on the other side says '282117'. The other says 'Clearance Level D' and on the other side says 'Consider Armed and Dangerous'.
Backstory: When Rebecca was nine a government official came by her school. They were looking for exceptional kids to take part in a special experiment. They were trying to artificially implant abilities into children so that they could raise them to be soldiers. It was an honor to be selected, but when she woke up in the hospital room, she felt like she had been cracked in half. Without even realizing what she was doing the guards assigned to her room had exploded and she was leaving a trail of bodies behind her as she escaped. But when she finally made it home, confused and splashed with blood of men she hadn't meant to kill, her mother didn't take her back. She said that Rebecca was part of the government's project now. She had to stay with them forever. Rebecca was just upset. She didn't mean to look at her mom, she really didn't. When the soldiers came for her she was curled up in the puddle of her mother covering her eyes so that she never looked at anyone again.
Depth was her codename, she took to wearing a blindfold so that she never accidentally hurt anyone again. She stayed with the government because she figured that even though she hated the killing she was forced to participate in, it was better than her being loose on the streets to hurt people. When she heard about Freesia Academy, though, from eavesdropping on some officers, she knew it was the perfect place. She could learn to control her powers without having to be a pawn. Without having to kill anymore. So she escaped and sought it out, determined to fix herself.
Charlie Gordon
http://i62.tinypic.com/2a4poud.jpg
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Power(s):
Metal Manipulation: User can create, shape and manipulate metal, a solid material (an element, compound, or alloy) that is typically hard, shiny, and features good electrical and thermal conductivity
Hyperkinetic: The mind's imaging systems and muscle control are perfectly in tune with the motor skills center of the brain. She possesses flawless aim, perfect balance, and greatly enhanced motor skills.
Bio: Most of Charlie's life was very normal and mundane. Then the incident happened. No one was there to witness it beside her and one other student, who was put into a coma. After that, she became distance, reclusive and depressed. Finally, after a month, Charlie told her parents what happened. She was the cause of many arguments between them after that. Eventually, Charlie sent to Freesia Academy, by her mother's order and father's protest.
Oscar Hille (Comatose)
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Appearance: 5'10 and pasty with short, ash brown curly hair and blue eyes. Never one for physical exercise, Oscar's muscles are rather underdeveloped for his age. His abilities activated early teens, but he has had only recently discovered how to consciously use it, and his physique has suffered from unintentional power abuse. His voice is high in pitch, and he has a habit of clacking his teeth together when annoyed or thinking, and stretching sibilant vocalizations whet upset with someone. He is fond of using examples in his speech, and leading others to their own conclusions. He dresses in loose checkered shirts, and owns a couple of pairs of denim jeans.
Personality: Friendly, but he could hardly be described as outgoing. Mellow. He is somewhat easily distracted and hesitant to trust new people. Typically honest, and dislikes others who lie for their own benefit. He is rather blunt.
Bio: Oscar was born to lower-middle class parents, mid-winter. His father had inherited a small commercial business, and his mother assisted him in his work.
His future as a shopkeeper all but decided, Oscar busies his childhood and teenage years assisting his father around the store, and graduates from high school with mediocre grades bar mathematics -- in which he excelled. It is during the later months of his formal education that he picks up meditation. After some time practicing, it is this that acts as the trigger for his abilities. He is contacted by the Freesia Foundation, and leaves for the Freesia High on graduation.
Not one day had passed on his arrival at the academy, that the weathered, old castle had burnt to the ground. He had managed to escape the fire with both Alice and Aiden relatively unharmed.
Power: Mass alteration, rate of change dependent on proximity, size and the degree of attention diverted to the task. Time required is being modeled by e^(x)-1 (where x represents 20% increases in mass and 10% decreasing mass), divided by arbitrary values representing concentration and proximity. Oscar needs to be able to perceive the target as a whole object.
On admission into Freesia High, Oscar requires himself to enter a meditative trance to consciously activate his ability. Simple movements are not outside the realm of possibility, but he is prone to being distracted. The maximum 'modifier' he can achieve is 0.75, and the maximum number of targets stands at three. Alterations currently degrade to normal levels over an approximate period of 30 seconds, exponentially (-e^(x) times whatever). He cannot alter the object until mass has reverted to normal. The ability does not tax his body. The current practical limit to his ability is 200% mass, after which time the rate of change slows horrifically.
Naoki Kashima
http://i57.tinypic.com/20kvw1z.jpg
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Personality: Naoki can come off as a very secluded and rude person at first glance, he isn't fond of making friends..as throughout his life there have been many that have stabbed him in the back. As for those that do manage to befriend him however, they will find that he isn't one to socialize, but if their in danger you can bet he will be there to help out, and isn't afraid to have to put someone down. He often finds pain as a means of coping with his cluster of thoughts, as well as taking his mind off of the abusive past that haunts him so.
Abilities: Naoki is capable of manipulating shadows, and requires them in order to fully utilize his abilities...and since they are pretty much everywhere, there is never an instance where he cannot use his powers. He can conceal himself within them((Excluding his own)), think of it as..hiding in plain sight, although it isnt something he will do, as he hasn't mastered it himself. Sometimes his attempt at hiding will fail, and he'll end up hitting into the object he tried to hide in the shadow of.
He is also capable of manipulating a shadow that belongs to someone else, it physically manifests in the shape of whoever the shadow belongs to, and is stuck to them. Naoki has full control of it during that time, meaning if he wished, he could deliver an unsuspecting, and potentially fatal blow using they're shadow. However an ability like this isn't without downsides. In the process of trying to execute a sneak attack, he leaves himself wide open. Control of someone's shadow requires concentration and even then, due to his lack of experience he cannot keep the shadow manifested for very long..
His most used and prominent ability is to manifest shadow itself into the form of sharp discs in the palm of his hand. They are sharp enough to slice through stone, but lack accuracy and their direction cannot be changed once thrown.
Background: Naoki was born and raised in a rather Brutish home at young age, his mother deceased and having to live with his abusive father who also happened to be in a gang at that time. Most of the days spent with him ending with Naoki enraged or sad, constantly slandered by the man who aided in his birth.
Naoki's powers only truly awakened during his only teen year's, 13 to be exact. His father intentionally knocked him out, and then had a few acquaintances engrave the same tattoes he wore onto his sons skin.
Waking up a day or so later, accompanied by the pain of the tattoe's, he was...filled to the brim with anger, while his father just laughed it off and told him that he would get used to them with time. Naoki didn't want that..he hated his father, and now..he had the same permanent markings on his skin just like the man he hated most?
His eye's started to glow..as well as the borders of the tattoes, a disc of dark energy began to form in the palm of his hand, and without a second thought...he threw it...killing him. Cliche as it may be, it was after his actions that he realized what it is he had actually did, and he panicked.
A few days after the incident he was put in a home for special care, for childeren that had...odd abilities like his own, and the death of his father was somehow dismissed as an accident.
Years went by, and let's just say that Naoki's time with his father left an impact on his life and changed the way he acted around others drastically. He was very rebellious throughout his time at the home, so much so that they decided to enroll him in Freesia academy, concluding that maybe he would find purpose there.
Hikari Kendall (Deceased)
http://i60.tinypic.com/1oahrd.gif
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Powers: The agility of a cat, and the power to create/manipulate light.
Background: Hikari is a mutation of a human and a cat, which gives her cat ears and a cat tail. These parts allow her increased agility, making her a very fast runner, but they are also extremely sensitive. It was learned that it was in fact her mother who also had cat body parts, and how this happened is unknown. Hikari also has the ability to use light, and because of these two powers Hikari was sent to Freesia High.
Hikari was born in her home. When her mother found out that her baby had extraordinary powers, there was both rejoicing and mourning. The baby, at the age of 15, would have to leave the home and join Freesia High, where she would stay until she was old enough to live and care for herself. So her father taught her all she needed to know, trying to give her the most normal childhood possible. He concealed her fate until it was apparent it couldn't be hidden anymore. Whatever her father didn't tell her, she'd go to her mother and ask. But her mother didn't reveal any answer either. This was frustrating, but Hikari lived with it. Finally, at the appropriate age, Hikari was sent to Freesia High.
Aiden Lane
http://i57.tinypic.com/15oezvc.jpg
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Abilities:
Super Human Strength: Able to surpass normal human strength.
Super Human Speed: Able to surpass normal human speed.
Once these powers are activated he is unable to control himself and goes into a blind rage. Extended periods of time under these effects causes damage to his body.
Personality: Aiden is a happy person, hyper, and excitable, he's always trying to make jokes. This side of him still shows strong but it's harder for him to maintain his lighter side for long. He's now more serious and aggressive, emotional and frequently questioning his once stone hard moral beliefs.
Background: He was born a bastard, never knowing his father and living his life with his neglectful mother. At the age of 12 he had been roaming around his neighborhood one day when someone tried to mug his mother. Instantly he felt this urge, uncontrollable and his head felt as if it would split in two, his powers had awoken. He blacked out but according to others he savagely mutilated the man, killing him, and seemed almost like a beast. That day onward he and his mother's relationship somehow turned even worse and she looked at him to be less than human rather ever since.
Eventually a man, Charles, came to his mother. Offering him the chance to take away his son to a place where he could be safe and learn about himself. His mother didn't hesitate and Aiden spent the next 4 years in a research facility being studied and tested on. The people were kind though, they may have thought of him mostly as a lab rat but they were never cruel and showed more kindness than he had known in a long time.
One day he found a letter to Freesia High and Charles explained it to him. Aiden felt hopeful and Charles allowed him to go immediately. He had only been there a few days before the fire went loose killing his roommate and a few friends as so many others had lost.
Now at Freesia Academy he has formed a resistance group with Alice Rogers in an attempt to stop any more tragedies. But he's constantly fighting his inner self, his powers, and he's haunted by images of a sadistic hooded boy and a beast that always beckons him.
Avarin Scarlett Mann "Ava"
http://i60.tinypic.com/2lntwdz.jpg
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Personality: She's a carefree kind of girl--she can't hold grudges, she can't help but laugh at everything, she's really passionate about everything she does so it's easy for her to get carried away with projects or ideas. At the same time, if she fails at something, she's not the kind of person who mopes about it--she just moves on. Again, she's not perfect--she complains and sometimes doesn't take things seriously enough. She's also pretty gullible;not stupidly gullible, but generally believes what intelligent people say. Loves any joke, even if it's on her. She can shrug off most things, but if something really huge is troubling her, it's pretty obvious.
She's of average intelligence in most subjects but she's got a knack for the whole math-related stuff, like coding and calculus, etc. It's easy for her to visualize. She's just generally fun. She's great at parties, social situations, ice-breakers, introductions, and if she ever had sleepovers she would be the one bringing out the karaoke machine. She is fully supportive of Freesia, and the only reason she hadn't joined before was because, though she had heard whispers about it, she still didn't know a whole lot and couldn't join. Once the fire happened, though, she immediately went to join them, and her father totally supported her.
Her mother had left her family when she was 2, so she can't really remember. She is willing to put all her effort in on this thing and hopes she can get to the point of putting her life on the line--she still is not there yet, though. She admires Ark and is a total rule follower. She likes her powers, and knows that some powers are really a pain in the butt, but likes that hers is pretty hideable and totally useful.
Abilities: She's an artist--she has the power to make drawings or 2-D objects come to life and work for her (if she drew a printer and used her power, it would become a printer, but it wouldn't necessarily work--it only can do what she draws it to do).
Background: She is originally from Australia and her name is a mix of both her parents' names (Avalon and Corin). Her mother left her when she was two, due to depression. Her father always talked well of her, though, so Ava doesn't really have many hard feelings toward her--she just missed her during critical moments in her growth--graduations, recitals, even puberty lol. She always secretly hopes her mom is watching her from afar with love, and is scared to confront Ava because she left her so many years ago. Her father was a military man so Ava was raised with lots of discipline, but he was also a totally huggable and amusing dad. He wasn't rich, they were making lower-middle class wages, so she wasn't poor, but she wasn't living in some 10 bedroom house. They lived in a three bedroom condo and had two cats named Ratchet and Clank. The whole reveal about Freesia's history and specialty drew her in to Freesia Academy.
Thea Moroosi (Deceased)
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Appearance: 5'9, shoulder length, shaggy black hair intersped with patches dyed dark burgundy or dark green. Eyes shift blue to grey. Skin tends to be pale but covered in small birthmarks or freckles. She is an athlete so she seems slim but is sinewy muscle.
Abilities:
Osteomancy: The ability to change her skeletal structure. She is also able to change and repair other’s bones upon physical contact with that person.
Photographic Memory: Able to remember anything she sees.
Background: Thea grew up pretty normal, her healing was abnormally fast but no one thought too much of it. She always loved climbing and doing dangerous stunts and acting silly. At puberty her powers became more obvious and stronger. She accidentally formed wings in her sleep once and awoke because it hurt her to change so much at such a rapid pace.
Her powers did have a bright side, when her dog broke his leg she hugged him, crying her eyes out, not hearing the cracking of bones. When she let go she noticed.. he was waking normal again.
Thea did not want to return to school so after a week of thinking on it, her parents told her she had been invited to Freesia at the age of 4, but they would miss her too much so they kept it a secret, until then.
Determined to get control over her powers, she went straight to Freesia High and pushed her self through the classes, studying because she was lonely and also..nervous about people knowing her power in case someone might hate her for it.
After the night of the fire and the death of Hikari, Thea realized that the school would never be the same. The school she went to learn to use her powers, to study, to play sports, to be normal, had changed, All that remained from the ashes of the old school were a burned past that no one seemed to remember. She almost never saw her old friends and when she had met them again, they changed. Oscar was in a coma, Hikari was dead, Caim and Griffin were missing, Aiden, Alice, and Hikari had changed.
There was nothing left for Thea, her home, her friends were burned away.
So she ran, took off in the middle of the night.
Eventually Ezra and Depth had located her in an attempt to retrieve her. Her desperation got the better of her and she pulled out a weapon, threatening the two if they tried to take her back to the school. They didn't back down and she pulled her trigger but Ezra's reflexes proved to be the better contender and she had unfortunately fallen. Ezra and Depth had not meant to kill her and regretted it. Now another student had been burned away from the life of Freesia.
Caim Radcliff (Missing)
http://i59.tinypic.com/30wl79e.jpg
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Abilities:
Self-Suggestion (Katana): At a first glance, he's a normal person without decent physical capability. This cannot be further than the truth. He possesses excellent speed, agility and athletic capabilities that exceeded normal people by far margin even though it still can't be considered a super (ex : super-speed) But he can't reach that level without holding at least a katana.
Time Manipulation: He's able to accelerate or decelerate his own time. He can accelerate/decelerate up to 10x faster than the normal time. But this ability places a burden on his body as it also affect his biological process, muscle movement and metabolism inside his body. the longest he can use this power (when he's speeding up his time 2x faster) is about a minute and half. It is enough to rupture numerous blood vessels and cause fractures in the bones of his limbs due to the burden if he used it more than that.
When decelerating, he reduces the biological process of his body as a result, he can slowing his heart beat to the point where he can barely feel it himself, slowing his breathing so it lags, and reducing his metabolism to the point where body temperature cools quickly enough to almost match room temperature. While this is perfect for a stealth, his cornea also received light few times the light a normal person receive, making his vision extremely bright even though he could still handle it. When he's speeding/slowing up to 10x of his original speed, his body can only lasts for 3-5 seconds at best though the cost is that he will not be able to move after a few days even with proper treatments.
Personality: He appears to be calm and unemotional but the truth is that he's quite sociable with the others. It's just that he isn't able to start a conversation with the others due to his past. The only thing which justifies his look is that he's the type to think before he acts.
Background: Caim's mother died when she was giving birth to him. The only one who raised him was his father who eventually died when Caim was still in elementary school. That's when his uncle finally began to take care of him. When his age reached 10, Caim started to show his abnormal abilities started from his sword technique. At first his uncle only thought about it as a very exceptional gift but, after he paid attention to him for a long time, he realized that it wasn't just a gift.
It was the same as his time manipulation. At first, it made Caim screaming in pain as his time starting to become uncontrollable and messed his body very bad. Everyone around him started to think that he's weird and cursed. As the result, he was left alone and he only had his uncle and his aunt as the people he could speak with. After a few years passed, he was able to hold most of his power and living like a normal person. But nonetheless, his uncle decided to enroll him in the Freesia high to make him meet with his new friends who have unique powers rather than to live alone without socializing with anyone around his age.
Alice Rogers
http://i62.tinypic.com/23j4l4z.jpg
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Abilities:
Psychic Shielding: Able to produce a telekinetic shield around herself or others.
Terramancy: Able to manipulate earth and nature.
Background: Aged just 4 she discovered her gifts. Her mother watched in shock as she coaxed a small sapling to become a massive oak tree in a matter of seconds. Her gifts were shunned in her family, she was not allowed to use them and her parents banned her from letting others know. In High School she was shunned as an outcast, she spent time alone in nearby fields, learning her powers in secret. She ran away from home to Freesia high.
At Freesia Academy she joined Aiden in leading the resistance group, seeing the oppression of the guards first hand.
Griffin Silverstein
http://i60.tinypic.com/16i7bqw.jpg
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Abilities:
Levitation: The ability to cause objects to float.
Enhanced Thinking: Has the mental capacity of a “Super Computer”.
Pyrokinesis: The ability to produce and manipulate fire. Inherited after the death of her twin brother Blake.
Background:
Griffin's family is one of the wealthiest families in the country but when her parents found out about her powers that didn't do much for her. She was young when her parents found out about her powers. Confused over what to do with her they sent her off to Freesia elementary as soon as they were informed of it. As she grew up she saw very little of her parents; they would hardly visit and when they did they kept their distance.
Her brother Blake Silverstein died on the night of the fire in Freesia High. When Freesia Academy she became reclusive. Refusing to speak to anyone and hardly ever showing up to class, most forgot she even existed, friends including. The loss affected her greatly and she became resentful. Resentful of the school and what they did to her brother, how they killed Hikari, one of the only friends she had left.
She sought help from Aiden Lane to get secret files from Arksas. She believed her brother to still be alive and despite Aiden's clear disbelief he helped her.
When they acquired the files they were shocked to find that he was indeed alive. The file however merely had Arksas' signature on it and the name of a location not far from Freesia. Despite Aiden's protests she left, promising to return one day.
Jack Snider (Missing)
http://i58.tinypic.com/21kh6k9.jpg
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Power(s): Has the ability to manipulate the borders between reality and fantasy.
Bio: Jack was a boy who when he was born always had a great imagination, often thinking of the word as his playground. At the age of three his powers had begun to manifest. At first he did small things like making his vegetables disappear or create toys from his imagination that he could play with but as he grew older the things he used his powers for started to increase, but so did the side effects. For everything he created he'd be put through extreme agony. Depending on how much effort it took to create something would decide the severity of how much damage he took. however when deleting things from reality it would slightly heal him. Eventually he made the mistake of erasing his parents from existence effectively leaving him alone till he was put in a orphanage for a few years before being sent to Freesia high.
Dr. Richard Arksas "Ark"
Age: 47
Gender: Male
Appearance: Arksas has messy blonde hair that he never gets around to cutting so it is always dipping into his eyes. His goatee, on the other hand, is always incredibly well trimmed and short. Though he is getting old, it is only just beginning to show on his face. He is still in rather good shape and continues to exercise to stay healthy. His age shows the deepest in his eyes, which are hung with dark bags that betray his sleepless nights. The exhaustion contrasts with the blue of his eyes which are so crisp and bright that they always seem alert. He wears normal clothes although he is often seen using a lab coat as his regular coat as he is used to its weight and feel.
Backstory: Arksas worked for the United States government as a researcher, studying Metas. He was still working there when his daughter, Melissa was born and then began to exhibit powers. She had an incredibly strong power but it was very unstable, and in order to keep the rest of his family safe Arksas abandoned them and took Melissa to his lab where he could monitor her power use and keep her from killing anyone accidentally. Melissa never really grew accustomed to her powers and they used to give her extreme headaches, hallucinations, and black outs. The power was also growing more unstable, destroying things beyond the bounds it used to be held back by.
Arksas ran some tests on his daughter and made an amazing discovery. She had an extra lobe of her brain that controlled the power she had been born with. Other research into the matter quickly backed up this claim. Unfortunately, Melissa had severe encephalitis, or inflammation of the brain in her extra lobe. It would kill her if not operated on.
In a desperate operation to try and save her life when she was nine, Arksas removed the extra part of her brain that was inflamed. However she died on his operating table. He continued to defend his actions as in Melissa's best interests, but the scientists had a field day getting to take apart and examine the body of a Meta. The extra piece of brain was preserved, stored for further research.
As weeks passed, the scientists noticed something incredible. The piece of the brain was healing itself and soon the encephalitis was completely cured. The order came down from the higher ups to Arksas. Another experiment must be run. Could putting this power-inducing piece of brain into a normal human give them powers? If the operation was a success, the US could become an unstoppable fighting force. Taking powerful abilities and plugging them into already willing and capable soldiers.
Arksas went around schools, looking for another nine year old girl so that her brain growth would be the most compatible for taking on what Melissa had lost. He found her in a young girl named Rebecca Fisk, who became his greatest success. The perfect soldier. A monster he had molded with his own hands.
Other: Arksas left the military for reasons unknown, though he claims that he quit and funded Freesia Academy because he could no longer agree with the horrible things the government asked of him. He wants to create a place that is safe for Metas, but really he wants to forge them into a fighting force to stop the world injustice and genocide against Metas. If that is all he wants is still unknown, but his motives are understandable and seem pure so far.

Teams
I'm still not sure whether teams will be a thing or not. I'll address this issue once we stop recruiting. They seem slightly obsolete now and since we lost players I believe old teams would need to be reorganized.

The faint moonlight shined through the leaves of trees as two tall figures trekked through the forest, keycards in hand. They walked without saying words to each other for a long time, with the only noise accompanying them being the crunch of twigs and leaves. Eventually they finally arrived at their destination; a stone bunker with a keycard lock on the side. The tall male nodded and the other fainter, feminine figure stepped in front of the lock and swiped her card across the slot. After a few seconds of silence a beep is heard and the doors to the bunker slide to the sides.
"Good job Karen." The male figure remarked, snarkiness and chastisment evident in his voice.
"Can we just go inside and do what we need to do Charles?" Karen barked back, she looked down for a moment realizing she talked back to a superior, "Sir. We shouldn't waste time."
"Oh come now, we're close you and I. I've known you since you were defecating in your own diapers. So by all means call me Charles. I'm a scientist anyways, not an officer." Charles' voice sounded almost sincere for a moment, it almost had a hint of emotion. But Karen knew better and proceeded into the bunker with Charles following behind.
The door slid back shut as the two descended down the stairs. The fluorescent lighting flickered on revealing the rest of the scenery: dirt walls, stairs, and other unremarkable things. Once they got to the bottom of the stairs they were met with another door. This one was more high tech however and required talking to a guard over the intercom. Behind the door revealed a stark contrast to the outside of it, glossy and metallic flooring, pristine conditions, clean medical supplies, a few guards walking here and there, with other nurses who were all tending one key thing.
"ID and business?" A gruff cracked over the intercom.
Karen stepped forward, ready to use her head nurse position to her advantage, "Karen Vane: 742, Head Nurse. We're here to inspect Subject 7." she was being quick and to the point, as always.
"Err.." The guard stutters and hesitates for a moment. You can hear typing and the shuffling of papers, revealing he wasn't aware who Karen Vane even was. "Uh yeah, go on in. Go East Wing: Block A: Room 142." the two get ready to enter until the intercom cracks again, "Uh, wait who's the other one with you?"
Karen pauses for a moment, her face remaining neutral. She figured this might happened prepared for it. She prepared for every scenario. She opened her mouth to speak but a brash Charles cut her off and shoved her out of the way before she could even say a word.
Charles leans over to speak in the intercom, "Are you stupid? Are you really telling me you don't know who I am?"
An awkward silence fills the air.
"Um, no?" The guard confusedly responds.
"My god. You're honestly telling me Flower Daddy Richard Arksas didn't tell you I was coming? It's me! Charles! I'm the boy's uncle. I'm the only blood relative he has, that's why Karen is here. We're going to a blood transfusion between the two of us." Charles states matter of factly. Karen wondered if he planned this but knowing Charles he probably just pulled this out of no where because he was bored.
"I-I don't know what to say. I'd have to confirm it with Arksas." The guard says, confusion plain in his voice. Though one couldn't blame the poor man.
"Tell me something? On a scale of 1-10 how stupid are you?" Charles waits for a moment hoping the guard would actually respond with a number but continues after it seems like he wouldn't, "Do you honestly think calling Arksas, a man who works constantly and wears stress like a pair of boxers, wants to get a call from you at 3 AM just so he can confirm something as simple as this? Subject 7 may be a Meta but he has aplastic anemia. If he doesn't get the proper blood transfusion once a month he could die. It's already overdue and you're delaying it as we speak, stop wasting everyone's time and let us do our jobs." Charles folds his arms and cocks an eye brow awaiting for the doors to slide open.
A bing is heard and the doors slide open throwing a rush of cold crisp air into Karen and Charles face. Karen's mouth hangs low as Charles casually walks into the hall humming. Growling in frustration she presses on; this man was the only one capable of infuriating her.
The pair stride down the halls casually, as if they were actually meant to be there. Giving casual nods to the staff of nurses working there, making very minor small talk to the other scientists, and giving nothing but snide grins to the guards. Eventually they reached their destination. Room 142: Jack Snider's holding room. Karen walks to the door and swipes her keycard through the lock and the door slides open as they step forward.
The inside of the room is cold, much colder than the hall outside. The room was vacant except for a large tube containing a young boy inside, fluid circulated around him with needles piercing his skin. Beside the tube were monitors for all sorts of things, brain wave patterns, heart rate, blood pressure, all the while Subject 7 floated in his tube, almost lifelessly but at the same time peacefully.
"I was expecting someone more impressive." Karen mutters walking towards the monitors.
Charles walks to the front of the tube and slides his finger down it, looking down at his finger before responding, "He is a rather frail looking child. His psyche profile more than makes up for it though, his ego is rather large. But I suppose it's justified."
"How so? Who is this kid anyways I've not seen him around the school." Karen starts pulling up programs on the computers and typing in codes.
"His name..." Charles takes a long pause, staring at the boy as if they're the only ones in the room, "His name is Jack Snider." His voice sounded vacant, he continued looking upon the boy's motionless body. His eyes revealed curiosity, which is something foreign to Charles and all who know him. "The boy can create things out of nothing, he can also erase things from existence."
"Hmph." Karen finishes up typing and presses her last key. A canister comes out of the counter and opens up, white mist seeping out around it. "Get the shot you made out, Chemical 0 or whatever and inject into this opening in the canister, this canister holds some of the fluid that goes into his test tube. After your done I'll close the canister back and eventually the Chemical 0 will seep into there with him."
"Trying to feel important?" Charles remarks chuckling, "I came up with this plan, I already know what to do Karen." Charles walks over to the canister and pulls out a vial of liquid. The liquid inside was dark and murky with a foul sense of omen inside. He begins pouring the liquid into the canister before sealing it back and allowing Karen to take care of the rest.
Karen walks up to the computers and proceeds to do her thing while making idle chatter, "So what is Chemical 0? I haven't heard you talk about it before."
"Does that hurt your feelings Karen?" Charles chastises, earning a glare from Karen, "Okay, okay. Chemical 0 is my own little concoction. Can't tell you how it's made or what's in it, that information is not for your ears. But it's basically steroids for Metas. This will amp up Jack's powers when he wakes up, oh, this will also cause him to wake up prematurely. I'm not quite sure how it will happen but I know for a fact it will end with him disappearing into his own realm."
Karen stops typing and looks back at Charles confused, "His own realm?"
Charles laughs lightly, "Jack Snider is the owner of his own dimension. When he erases things from this existence it goes into his dimension, he can also take things out of that dimension and transform them at his will in this world."
"What exactly are you planning Charles?" Karen asked.
"The beginning." Charles said bluntly.
"That's not an answer." Karen was becoming agitated, it wasn't often Charles kept secrets. At least not from her.
"You wouldn't understand the answer. Jack Snider, his role is more important than the measly events going on in Freesia or the world." Charles stated, his voice full of mystery.
The canister slides back into the counter and all is good to go. Karen and Charles proceed to walk out until the alarm sounds and lights flash red.
"Uh oh." Charles whispers.
"Damn! The guard must've figured you out. If you just let me handle it!"
"Oh we'll be fine, stop being a worry wart."
"We're in a bunker with only one way out full of armed men, I'm not gonna be calm." Karen reaches into her lab coat pocket and pulls out a pistol aiming it at the door.
The doors slide open and a guard comes in aiming his rifle. He opens his mouth but-
Bam
Bam
The sound of a pistol and rifle tries to combat the sound of the alarm. The guard lays dead with a pistol hole in him but the rifle bullet, it went somewhere. Karen looks over at Charles only to see blood running down his face and a hole in his forehead. But he's still smiling.
"Ch-Charles?" Karen stutters, trying in vain to hide her anxiety.
Charles stretches and proceeds to take the rifle from the guards body before continuing, "Welllll I've got a plan. You shot me after you saw I was attacking a guard and saved the day and get off scot free. I pretend to be dead, the proof being this," Charles points at the hole in his head, "And I'll kill my escort and make my way back to our home facility. Sound good?"
Karen stood there baffled, "No Charles what the hell?! You have a bullet hole in your head, you got shot in the head! How are you standing?" Karen struggles to remain calm after witnessing this, her reaction has her feeling a bit shamed. She was trained to never act like this, ever. "Are you a Meta?" She asks, it seemed such like the only possibility. This entire time, his interest in Metas, he must have been one.
Charles merely chuckled and waved his hand, "If that's what you want to think, now I'm going to play dead and you stick to the story." he layed on the ground in a position that looked like he was shot dead and remained still.
Eventually, guards rushed into the room demanding answers. Karen switched on one of her false personas and pretended that she was a victim of Charles going insane. Her eyes started to water as she recounted how he held a gun against her and how the guard tried in vain to protect her but ended up dead for it. The guards try to console her and offer to take her back to Freesia. She accepts and begins to walk out of the room with the guards. As she exits, she looks over at the motionless body of Charles, he opens his eyes for a brief moment and gives her a wink before he returns to his dead stance.
In the room one guard is tasked with taking the dead body outside and trying to get answers from Arksas about whether or not he actually knows this man named Charles or not. The guard grabs the body and slings it over his shoulder and begins his trek to the outside of the bunker.
Outside all is quiet and dark as it should be. But now dark clouds cover the moon, making it look as if it was an omen. As if a dark entity had been unleashed on the world. The guard shivered a little bit and put Charles beside the bunker propping him up for a bit. The guard reached into his own pocket for a cigarette and lit it. He was nervous but he had no idea why. His gut told him something terrible was wrong.
"You shouldn't smoke those cancer sticks you know?" A malicious voice says.
The guards eyes enlarged and his cigarette falls out of his mouth as he turns around to look at the source of the voice. To his shock, the body of Charles is standing there grinning at him, with the bullet hole remaining in his head.
Charles merely pulls out a small pistol and aims it at the guard and pulls the trigger, ending the guard's life. He didn't bother with semantics this time. He walked over to the body of the guard and reached in for a cigarette himself. Once he found the pack he took one out and stuffed the rest in his pocket. Pulling out his lighter he lights it up and begins walking into the dark of the woods.
"Have fun Jack." Charles says solemnly as he takes a puff and tosses the cigarette.
Darkness permeated through everything. One could feel it. It forced itself through the body, brushing against the skin, it's scent was indescribable yet plain, it burned the throat and nostrils, and creeped into the eyes. In the empty abyss Jack floated, unable to see himself or anything else but darkness. The only proof he had of his own existence was the ability to move what felt like his limbs. But he wasn't even sure that's what this was, he feared it was merely his consciousness remembering what it was like to have a body and that in truth he was slowly fading away just as he done at Freesia.
Freesia.
That's right, he was there last. He had attacked the school in an attempt for answers, answers that were never delivered. It felt as though he smiled as he remembered attacking the school and the chaos that ensued afterwards. They were weak. Weak of mind and of power. They would never be able to understand what they can do, never able to bend the human world their liking. They even listen to a human named Arksas. Jack's weak smile felt like it turned into a frown though. The memories he had made him remember the world he was in for a moment and made him remember where he was now. This dark abyss, was this the dimension he sent things and brought things back out from?
But he couldn't see anything. The only way he could prove it was by manifesting something. He thrust his arm into the nothingness and clenched his fist, straining to form something. Why was he so weak right now? He kept trying to form something simple; such as a pencil but no matter what, nothing happened. What happened? He felt such as surge of power when he broke out of his containment, now he can barely lift his arm. He was so powerful, so powerful. Why was he here? Why was he in this dimension?
"Nip, nap... patter tack? No, that's not right." A deep voice echoes through the void with the tapping of cane following every footstep. Jack's eyes felt like they widened as he listened to the foreign voice. Almost instantly the voice is next to Jack speaking.
"My, oh my, what do we have here?" Jack can feel tugging on his clothes and the tap of cane on his body. "You must be the boy king of this little world here." Jack couldn't see but he was sure this man was gesturing towards the darkness around him.
"Can you not see me? No, of course you can't, your sense are almost gone. Any longer in here and you'll... poof," The deep voice makes a long and exaggerated poof sound before continuing, "lucky I found you when I did."
Jack struggles to move his lips, just to get a word or two out.
"Puh, puh, puh? Is that how people speak now?" The deep voice asks sarcastically.
"Who... are.. you?" Jack manages to get out weakly.
The man laughs a laugh that seemingly echoes in the darkness. "Who knows, I've had many names through the years: Bastard, Harlot, Heathen, Heretic, King, Death, ..God." Once again the tapping of a cane is heard echoing through the darkness, through Jack's ears. "Better question is who are you my boy?"
Jack's lips quivered and he forces every bit of energy he has to speak, hoping desperately a conversation with this man will lead him somewhere. "J..ack."
"Jackie Boy is it? Tell me, do you control this little abyss?" The man asks but it was obvious he knew the answer.
Jack nods his head lightly, assuming the man can see his body. This man talks like the whole world is black, but the man can see him? It didn't make sense.
The man bellows once more and taps his cane on Jack's ribs. "Thank the gods. I've been waiting for I don't know how long for you to show up Jackie Boy." Jack hears a swoosh and then the drop of a cane is echoed in the far off distance. "Damn it all. Good thing I have more than one." He said, obviously referring to his cane, "Anyhow, Jackie Boy, I'm afraid you're gonna die. You've no chance of surviving in here. You have no food, no water, you're still human... after all."
Jack struggles to comprehend what this man was telling him. There's no way he could die. Not him, of all people, not him. He was the most powerful meta, there was no way he could die, least of all not in his own dimension.
Jack feels the man's body heat close in as he whispers into Jack's ear rather uncomfortably. "But... I can keep you alive. I got powers Jackie. Some would say the strongest of powers." The man didn't wait for a response from Jack before continuing. "I can transmit life force from one to another. Meaning I can take the life of another human and give it to you, you'll be brand new." Though Jack couldn't see it the man was smiling brightly. His teeth cutting into the void.
"But where oh where could I have gotten another human life in this void? HA! I actually have two!" A loud clap is heard echoing through the void.
Jack's eyes widened and if his body wasn't so weak he would be shaking uncontrollably. If this was his dimension, and the man has been walking around in it and found other humans, then that can only mean one thing. There were only two humans he ever sent to this dimension.
His parents.
Jack began shaking his head violently. "No. They can't be alive. No!"
"Oh but they are Jackie! I have the power to prolong life quite a bit, I've kept your mother and father alive for quite some time." The man laughs deeply then stops to resume a more insidious tone, "Would you like to see them my boy?"
Before Jack could reply the snap of fingers is heard and he can feel the heat of two bodies next to him. One on his right and one on his left. If it was possible to see him, then the man could tell Jack was shaking uncontrollably. Whatever left over energy Jack had had become anxiety, fear, and remorse. "Get them away.." He whispers weakly, "GET THEM AWAY!"
The man slams his can on Jack's knee, causing Jack to yelp. "Ah, now my boy. You should be grateful, here I'll transmit a bit of your fathers life so you can see them."
Jack could see nothing but it was apparent the man was up to something. He was about to protest but suddenly he felt a coldness come over him, it felt like ice in his veins and sweat came from his pores feeling like ice cubes as they trickled down his face. It felt like darkness evaporated from his eyes and light returned. Jack jerked up still sitting though, he could finally see. But his surroundings, it wasn't much different from before. Darkness still permeated, but in a more hazy and mist like fashion. In front of him he could see the man finally.
Tall, black clothes looking as though they belong from another era, carrying a surprisingly normal black cane, imposing, sinister, an extravagant hat that looks like it belongs in the Victorian era, and a goatee. Most of his facial features were covered up save for his mouth. On his hands there were odd symbols on the back of each palm. Triangles with a circle around it, three breaks at each end. As Jack studied the man, the man merely smiled in a vain fashion, as if to show off who he is.
Jack's concentration on the man broke as he heard two ghoulish breathing beside him. His eyes widened in terror. He slowly scooted up to get a view of both of these ghouls, slowly turning around. As his head turned and the two came within view, he almost shrieked.
His parents sat in front of them. Their mouths dropping open, gray skin, emasculated, their ribs protruding out of their body, their eyes were almost black from how far they were sunk in their heads, malnutrition was apparent, their nails have all rotted off, the only legible noises they made were ungodly breathing and terrifying moans. The sounds sounded as if they were pleading for death, pleading for an end.
The man tapped his cane lightly on Jack's shoulder. "It's quite nice to see families brought together after such a long time isn't it Jackie?"
Jack eyes lit up in anger. "I'll kill you!" Jack screamed as he quickly turned and thrust his arm to the side to manifest a sword, quickly attempting to hack into the black coated man. But his blade was immediately stopped almost as soon as it struck. Jack breathed heavily as he looked at the man who was still smiling, the man's hand caught the blade, he gripped it harder before snapping it in half.
"It's good to see you have a little fight left in you." The man hisses sinisterly, before kicking Jack's legs out from under him, the man thrust his arm forward and grabbed the boys hair, lifting him up to eye level. "Now my boy," The man spoke almost demonically, "Try to think past your little obnoxious head for once you little curr. There are many things that surpass you in importance, think above your little snobby sniveling sense of worth and your petty attempt at emotions and listen to me." The man let go of Jack's hair letting the boy drop back down to the ground. "Now, you will die. I've been keeping your parents alive just in case this would happen so you would be able to get enough power to make a little deal with me."
Jack's breathing calmed down and he began to listen to the man. He looked back at his parents, something in him, his heart, it felt pained as he looked upon the two. It wasn't a feeling he was used to.
"Stop looking at them and pay attention to me!" The cane smacked across Jack's face bringing the green haired boy back to attention. "I will transmit all their leftover life force into you, I know it doesn't look like you would get much but you would be surprised at how one can ration life."
Jack began to shake his head no before quickly being interrupted.
"If you truly loved these two parents of yours then you would be doing them a favor. Prolonging life via my means is a living hell. They experience the pain of death every moment. Constantly on the bridge of death, reliving all their pains, they were little more than husks when I found them. I've kept them as husks. Starving and dehydrating husks."
Jack gulps and looks down at his hands, his trembling hands. "Why? Why do you need me?"
"Well that's simple Jackie boy. You're my only connection to the outside world. You're also my only way to fulfill a dream of mine. But the specifics of my reasons are my own and will not be disclosed to you. Now take the life or die, I would surely hate to be stuck in this abyss forever but the little patience I have is being wore thin by you."
"I would be.. ending their pain?" Jack asked mournfully. The man merely nods his head in response.
Jack sat for a long while. The man didn't interrupt him though. Jack continued to stare into the darkness, feeling the lack of anything around him, thinking back on the little memories he had of his parents. He then remembered it was his fault. His fault that his parents were here, his fault that this man found them and kept them alive. All because of him. All.. his.. fault. Eventually, Jack finally nodded his head, taking the man's offer.
"Wonderful." The man smiled and forced the ghouls to crawl over next to Jack, wrapping their emasculated arms around the green haired boy. Jack's eyes were fit to burst out of his head, he felt the cold blood of his parents wrap around him. No longer the warmth and loving that he once experienced as a child. This embrace was a dark and slimy feeling as they moaned and breathed in his ears, whispering unintelligible things. But every few seconds, Jack thought he could hear them say his name, terrifying him. Terrifying him to his deepest core.
The man dropped his cane and popped his knuckles. He put one hand on each ghoul and a dark, wispy, obsidian glow emanated from his hands, traveling down to the heads of the ghouls, covering their bodies, before finally moving onto Jack.
As the hellish process went on. Jack felt his eyes burn. He didn't know what was wrong with him. As his eyes continued to burn and redden he felt a form of release trickle down his cheek. A warm wet substance slowly traveling down his face. When it met his lips he opened it up to taste the salty flavor. He finally knew what he was doing. For the first time since he made his parents disappear, he cried. At this realization tears kept flooding from his eyes like a downpour. He kept muttering under his breath as he felt his strength renewed and felt the ghouls of his parents slowly weaken their grip around him.
Jack shut his eyes trapping the burning tears in him, "I'm s-sorry mom!" He whispered, "Dad.. I'm sorry!" These were the only words Jack could come up with as he felt the grip around him evaporate. Before they completely vanished, he heard a low otherworldly whisper in his ears, it sounded faintly like.
Jack.
He slowly opened his eyes and looked around him, part of him hoping that his mangled parents were still there. Still wrapped around him like once so long ago. But as he looked around, he saw nothing but the void and loneliness. Saw nothing but the man in front of him. Jack felt brand new once again, he quickly got to his feet and looked up at the man before him, waiting for the next order of events.
The man merely smiled as Jack seemed to be in torture during the process. The procedure worked though, Jack was on his feet and while not healthy looking, looked normal enough. "Well Jackie, seems you're back at good health."
Jack wiped away the tears from his eyes and sniffed, looking up begrudgingly at the man.
"Now. Do you want to see your parents again?" The man asked.
Jack furrowed his brow in confusion. "What?"
"Your parents. You can see them again. Your powers are quite interesting you see. Very few of your kind are capable of the powers you have, the power to make something out of nothing. And I won't lie, you are a little more capable than others with it. But still, you're a little curr. With my help, I can grant you the powers of a god. You can make a place all of your own, a place where you, are king."
Jack was hesitant about what the man was saying. "How? Who are you anyways!?"
The man laughed and waved his hand in front of his face, "Forgive me, where are my manners? My name.. my name is Mori, last name will not be disclosed to you. As for how I will grant you powers? You would be incapable of understanding, but consider me an.. oracle, or channeler of sorts.. for an ancient power. A power you can see manifested right here." The man points to the symbol at the back of his palm.
"This power, can do many things Jackie. Things you wouldn't believe. All I ask is you make a deal with me."
"What is this deal? What's the catch?" Jack asked skeptically.
The man bellowed in laughter once more, "That's the best part my boy! There is no catch! I merely want to grant you powers and you merely do what you will, allowing me to glimpse the outside world every now and then and occasionally doing favors for me."
Jack heard the deal but still wasn't sure. This man, his persuasion sounded like a devil's deal.
"My boy if you're truly hesitant then think of it this way. If you don't take this power, you will be trapped in this void with me forever, I won't allow you to die, just like I did with your parents." The man's voice turned grave as his eyes burned holes into Jack.
Jack's heart started beating faster, was this what fear felt like? He thought about killing the man, but he didn't think it would work. This man. This man wasn't human, nor was he meta. He debated in his mind for a long time, but this was the only way to get out. Then he thought about the power, could he truly create his own world? Bring back his parents? Become a king?
Jack stood there for a moment longer before finally looking up at Mori. "Give me power. Make me.. a god."
"Excellent."
"Again"
Ezra's eyes gleamed brightly as energy built up within his body. His small feet buried in the snow, he leveled his hands toward the target and unleashed a beam of heat that struck the straw target with ease, evaporating the snow that rested on it and setting the dried grass ablaze. His young body steaming and heaving with exhaustion, he turned his face toward his father, beaming with pride. In his father's eyes, however, he saw only disappointment.
"Again," he said in his native language.
"I don't understand," Ezra replied, also in Ukrainian.
"Again."
"But I..."
"AGAIN!"
"PAPA," Ezra yelled. "I destroyed the target! I hit it in the center! What did I do wrong?!"
"Nothing. You did everything right. But shooting where you want one time is not enough to win a fight. You must be able to hit your target every time, without fail. Stationary, moving, being shot at. Now, do it again."
Ezra stared up at his father, a man of daunting stature when compared to runtish, shirtless boy standing in the snow. He looked as though he could barely hold himself upright, much less continue to train in the snow, but he did. Again and again, he launched his powerful blasts at the hay bale until his body vented green energy through every pore and his chest heaved deeply, clawing to pull air into his lungs. Exhausted, Ezra fell backwards into the mud.
The father, still bearing his look of disappointment, turned his back to his son and trudged back through the snow toward their lodge. Smoke billowed from a chimney roughly a mile away from their position, and that seemed to be his destination. He did not give his son the courtesy of turn his head back toward Ezra before speaking again.
"Again, and do not come home until you can hit every target while you are moving."
In a dark industrial complex, an older boy stood victorious over his opponent, who laid prone on the hard concrete floor of a textile factory. The man's body was burned in various places, key locations that, when force was applied, rendered him completely useless in combat. Ezra, then age fourteen, did not seem to be injured at all, not even scratched. It had been an easy fight; he was more than a match for the Russian agent who had been tailing him for two weeks.
"Why are you hunting me," he boy asked in Russian.
"Because of what you did to me. Because of what you can do. Surely you did not think you could just leave the Homeland without making some people very upset."
"I don't care about what you want, or your goals, or your country. Leave me alone!"
"Enough, Alexi." From around the corner came the boy's father, wearing a dark coat and gloves. "What are you doing," he questioned, honestly puzzled about his son's actions.
"I have neutralized him, Papa. Now I am telling him to leave us alone." Ezra, known as Alexi to those who knew him personally.
"Wrong. You should have known by the way he fought that he would have no information." Ezra looked puzzled so his father, after heaving a great sigh, moved in closer to explain, his gait quickened out of irritation. "You won the fight in only a few moves. This piece of garbage barely qualifies as a Meta, much less a Russian agent. He is nothing more than fodder, set up to force you into using your powers so that they can find you. He probably has a tracking device someone on his body."
Without hesitation, Ezra's father checked the usual places, pockets and shoes. Finding nothing, he began the would-be hunter's skin, before finally locating a small device taped to the back of his neck, singed by one of Ezra's bolts.
"They will come looking where their signal was lost. We need to go. Dispose of him." Papa turned to leave, but Ezra did not.
"But... I won. He cannot hurt us, and probably will not try again. Why kill him?"
Papa stopped, turned on his heels, produced a gun, and shot the man in the head. Blood splattered his son's face, bathing him in crimson. Ezra was clearly shaken and horrified by what he'd just seen. There was no reason to kill him, yet his father took the nameless man's life without batting an eye.
"Because now we know for sure that he will not follow us."
She had unusually large eyes for a child. Though she was quiet, through her eyes she absorbed the majesty of the world. In her eyes, tonight, the stars were reflected.
Her seat was warm because it was a person. She was curled up on Arksas' lap and he had his gentle arms around her stomach, holding her tightly into him. She loved how big his arms were. They had snuck out tonight to look at the stars. She loved looking at the stars, even though for her they glowed blue instead of white. But the deep velvet sky was just as black, and the universe was just as big.
“They're pretty.”
“You're pretty.” Arksas kissed her on her head, and rested his chin on her soft brown hair.
She shook him off and giggled. “Daddy, don't be so stupid. I'm talking about the stars.”
Arksas gasped, looking offended. “Who taught my little girl a horrid word like stupid?”
“Dr. Wilson. He calls you it all the time when he comes in to check up on me.”
“Well, we'll just have to do something about that won't we!” Arksas said and began to tickle her in her stomach. The little girl flailed, giggling madly until she finally managed to stop his onslaught by flipping over. Now face to face they smiled in the moonlight and she kissed him on his nose.
“I never said I agreed with him, daddy.”
“Now that's my little princess.” Arksas swung her into his arms and stood up. “Who is soon to be a sleeping beauty.”
“Aw, no daddy, five more minutes please? I want to keep looking at the stars.” The girl's puppy dog eyes were a force to be reckoned with.
“Are you sure you feel okay? You need rest to get better. It's cold out here and you should already be in bed.” Arksas fussed like a mother hen.
“I'm wearing my warmest sweater.” The girl wheedled, “And I know that I'll be fine. Because my dad is the greatest doctor in the whole world, and he's not going to let anything bad happen to me.”
She wrapped her tiny arms around his neck and hugged him, she was a little cold actually, but he warmed her right up. Arksas lifted his hand and touched the crown of her head, caressing it gently. It was what was beneath it that caused him to be frowning. But he would save her. He would save her if it was the last thing he did. He clutched his precious burden tighter to him.
“I will never let anything bad happen to you, Melissa.”

The government wants to use us,

Power(s):
