New Year’s Eve: Tuesday 31st, 1799-11:57 pm

Rich red blood soaked into the emerald green carpet as the body of 19-year-old Jean-Valjean cooled under the bright moon-light as servants began to bring in mops and a coffin for the now dead farm-hand. Slowly his body was laid in the oak box which had been cushioned to protect the supple young skin as he was moved into a different room. The others around in the other rooms and that present room paid no attention to the body being moved. No one questioned it, acknowledged, or showed any concern. He was just like a table being moved to make more room for something else or to be fixed. He was property. He had always been property but now he would be till the end of the time or by the grace of death stopping for him.

New Year’s Day: Wednesday 1st, 1800-12:00 am

The grandfather clock rung and a few servants who still had high spirits were wishing one another a wonderful new year. Jean-Valjean could feel his body stiffening and his mind returning to the present. With heavy breaths the young man stared up at the servants and could hear something. Some kind of song … but with horror striking the once fragile heart, the young man soon notice what it was—the pulses of the men around him; those who were carrying the coffin into a new room. With new ice-blue eyes the young man stared up at the servants. One smiled sadly as he spoke to the living corpse.

“Happy Birthday and New year, Jean.” The coffin lid closed and Jean-Valjean laid in his new bed as the scent of blood now attacked his sense of smell and the warm liquied now drying against his skin.

He was man no longer.

No longer breathing.

No.

He was a creature of the night and with a cruel master who now had the boy for the rest of his immortal life. Jean-Valjean would no longer be able to escape into the welcoming sun light nor the church that sworn to protect him only to allow this to happen.

The property could only lay in fear as he heard footsteps. Not sure if it would be a servant to come drain him or something else. His senses were dulled and the new ones just kept coming. The new born creature of the night was helpless in this new unknown state of the undead.

By some miracle Jean had been able to escape the home. The man did not know how to use his new powers or even know if he had new powers. The sun was starting to rise and the blue-eyed male rushed behind a tree in attempts to save himself from being turned to ash. The horse drawn carriage pulled beside the man as three other men on horseback laughed and looked down at the shaken boy. One grabbed him and threw him into the carriage as the other two hurried back to the safety of the estate. The carriage ride the beginning of the beatings and having his blood drained in the point where in his old life he would have died. Now he only pass out before being force to drink the blood of any unlucky servant when Jean was in need of new blood to produce more of his blood.

Jean-Valjean cried softly as his body twitched, neck covered in bit marks as well as his arms. He couldn’t handle this anymore. He couldn’t remember the pass week and he didn’t know what day or month it was for him. It was sad that he had been thrown into such a state within seven days of the new year.

The male could feel something new though. A new power that was looming over his space. And something soft under him—velvet. This couldn’t be right. He had been force to sleep on stone since he disobeyed his master. The brunette swallowed hard, his vision blurred but it was useless still. All he saw was the everlasting darkness. Quivering lips and a soft, yet horsed voice spoke from the laying body as empty eyes stared at nothing.

“P-Please…death…please save me…death please do not pass me again…save me…” words could be barely heard by any human there if there were any.

Léon stood in the center of the broken master bedroom. Within the rundown mansion, the moonlight was poking through the great, jagged hole of the roof above. Droplets were crashing on him and the molding wood below, everything else was torn and rotted.

This was his home, a word he disliked very much. This broken place…the comforts of money gone, unknown to him. But it kept him hidden and safe from the larger Human society that was paranoid of his kind.

Stepping across the creaking wood he rubbed his thumb across his bloody lip, a recent feed had just healed him from the wounds he received in a fight. This fight brought him an interesting gift: a boy with the scent unlike anything he’d smelled before. Léon could only imagine how his blood tasted… as much as his brooding, self-controlled self liked to reign in its absolution, he couldn't deny the small giddy of joy he felt when he thought about that delicious blood.

He had to fight some random weak gang of vamps, none with any greater master to crawl back too…But it was still a danger as they could spread word. Léon killed two of them, but one had run away. Lucky bastard.

“You look happy” Iris chimed with her penetrating eyes and taunting smirk on her face.

“Do I?”

**

Jocelyn was told to keep watch over the newcomer. The boy was weak, both in terms of health and power. He must have been recently turned. Sitting in the dark stone room gave her no enjoyment, leaning against the stairs.

Whoever this guy was…he did smell tasty, and that was strange. In the darkness, her vision remained strong and it witnessed the center coffin that held the boy. Her ears picked up the cries and she walked over.

Pushing over the coffin she looked down at beaten and battered man. His clothing was torn to shreds and he was very wounded.

Above the pale man was a colored adolescent with long waving hair over her right shoulder and a simple green cloth dress that held around her shoulders and was not modest by any means.

“Who are you?” she asked bluntly.

Upon hearing a female voice, Jean-Valjean felt relief spread across his body as he relax a bit "Jean-Valjean..." he replied weakly as he stared up at the shadowed figure. Taking in useless breathes the new born felt his eye lids grow heavy "Where am I?" he asked as fingers slowly began to dance across his neck, feeling the many holes that were still healing from being feed on so many times. The young man grunted softly as a sharp pain shot up his spine and through out his whole body; sharps breathes began and Jean tried to calm himself. Everything was sudden and he didn't understand why he felt so weak and as if he would die.

Compared to his human form Jean was a infant, before he was able to carry bales of hay with the least of problems but now he might have tumbled backwards with the lack of blood he had running through his veins.

"Its freezing." he muttered as he pushed himself up on his elbows. Jean-Valjean covered his nose. Why is that scent so strong? Ugh... its disgusting. he thought to himself as he cringe. What smelled was his own blood, his legs had been injured and a great amount of both dried and fresh blood attacked the boy's senses. It was stronger than normal blood in the sense of smell and taste. Also a new scent that Jean-Valjean was just making cntact with in his new undead life.

Jocelyn studied Jean-Valjean, from the way his eyes were contracted she could tell the newborn didn't even have night vision. Essentially, this man-child was defenseless and was going to die soon without blood. She and Léon had already hunted just the night before...they couldn't risk getting greedy...

She pulled back when the man-child sat up in the cushy coffin, of course Léon had given Jean-Valjean his coffin to sleep in. Jocelyn rolled her eyes while the man-child complained.

"You need blood. You'll die without it" she gave a heavy sigh and drew herself close to him. Jean-Valjean could feel the heat of her body near him, smell her womanly flowery scents if he allowed himself to breathe though his nose. A brush of hair tickled his face while Jocelyn moved it around to exposed the right side of her neck more. "You know how to do this, right?"

The youth remained silent as he was pulled close to the warm body, his hands lowering and now with a much more pleasant scent. Nodding weakly, the young man took in a deep breath before sinking clean fangs into the veins of his hostess. The young man drank like a child on a nipple of it's mother, softly and often lapping the warm liquid. Some of it even dripped from his lips.

He drank as much as he could before pulling back and panting heavily. Licking his lips clean the young man opened his eyes and now he could see the moonlight seeping into the room. Sitting up Jean-Valjean felt his body quiver but now everything seemed clear and his vision was returning. The moonlight now his only source of any light to the youth. Looking back up to the woman, Jean couldn't stare for a moment before he spoke again, this time much better "T-thank you... where am I? If I may ask."

Jocelyn felt the teeth puncture her skin. Truth be told, she hated being bitten...she hadn't been in such a long time. Containing herself from pushing him away she kept still. She could feel his lips on her skin, felt their slight movements while the man-child suckled away. Gradually she was feeling a little colder, some of her warmth moving down her shoulder to her chest.

Eventually she pushed him away, he was too slow and she didn't want him to suck her dry. The puncture holes seeped a little more but she gave it no mind. From the basement window, the moonlight was striking into the darkness and she could see just how pale Jean-Valjean was. He looked deathly white, he looked that pale even when he was alive?

"Montreuil" she told him with irritation "Not far from it..." sitting on her feet she stared at the man-child. "Do not think you can go home though...they'll find out eventually"

The young man leaned back against the coffin, his arms raising and he held himself. His eyes glowed slightly in the darken room and the young man could only keep them down as everything started to sink in at his moment of rest. "I see." he simply said as he started his way out of the coffin. His legs buckled from the sudden change in movement but the newborn only made his way to a wall and took a seat. "How did I get here? The last thing I even recall was being taken out from the basement." Jean-Valjean said as he looked at the woman.

She was beautiful, there was no doubt about that, but something about her made the youth stay away from her now as his head was cleared.

Jean-Valjean now sat next to a table, three unlit candles decorated the surface. From where he sat he could see the room was nearly barren spare the three coffins that rested on the ground, away from where the moonlight showed on the floor. The window was covered with wooden planks, but light still got through.

A bookshelf stood near the coffins, leaning up against a wall. In it were a few books, all of various conditions and colored hard bindings.

Jocelyn stood, the blood from her shoulder dripped from her chest and was lightly staining the rim of her cloth dress.

Stepping around one coffin next to the velvet one Jean-Valjean just left, she leaned against the stones of the stairs again. She was keeping distance.

"I do not now the full story. Léon saved you...but he isn't your master. Someone else sired you" with this a stern look crossed her face.

The woman seemed so cold and he could feel his eyes darting away to stare at anything else in the room. He remembered the man who sired him, the same one he had been a slave too since he was fourteen years of age. Cleaning the blood from pale rosy lips, the vampire hugged his knees close to his chest "Léon?" he asked, clearly confused on who the other named. By this point he thought she had saved him.

"...I am in his debt then..." he spoke softly as he stood up with the support of the wall. "Are we alone?" he asked as he walked towards the woman but keeping distance between them.

Jocelyn had to look up to him the closer he got. Being around him put her on edge, how much trouble did he bring with him? Léon and her had been living a little, quiet life that was only made lively by small rises from Iris, Léon's spawn. It was a comfortable mix of routine and trouble training and raising Iris.

She hoped that Léon wouldn't keep this man-child. Raising Vampires from newborn was difficult and often led to failure. Iris was already enough trouble, this one seemed like he would be even more difficult. Not to mention his scent was bound to cause trouble too...

"No we are not." She sighed again as she stood from the wall and reached out one of her hands. "Come. I will introduce you to Léon, he wanted to speak to you when you woke"

(If Jean-Valjean takes the hand)

Jocelyn walked slowly to ensure Jean-Valjean could keep up, she had seen him fumble before. Each step brought them closer to a door. The colored adolescent opened it and they were greeted with a long hallway to their right, nature had torn everything asunder. Leaves blew across the eaten ground, walls were peeling and bare, there were wet spots on the ceiling...at one time this place must have been grandiose in its elegance and posh qualities.

Walking down the hallway they were taken to the entrance hall and at the decorative stairs that was where two others were standing.

Léon and Iris both looked to Jocelyn and the newborn.

"He's delicious" Iris scanned him, her eyes pierced him, had their way with him. Léon looked at her sternly, clearly not amused. Her cheeky smile faded and she turned away her eyes before walking away up the stairs. Jocelyn let go of Jean-Valjean's hand and stepped away.

"Thank you Jocelyn" his gratitude genuine and he nodded to her. His brooding blue eyes saw the puncture marks on her skin, his face grimaced...he knew what that cost her to allow that to happen. "He fed?" She nodded speechless.

Pulling open his doublet he lowered his neck to her. "Heal those wounds" Léon appreciated what she did...but with her history...he didn't want her to keep having to feel the bite marks. Being a beautiful, colored woman made her siring much more...invasive and gruesome than his ever was. She had told him in detail what happened once...he was glad that they were able to kill their former master together. He deserved it. Jocelyn delivered the killing blow.

Jocelyn fed until her puncture wounds sealed shut and any marks faded. It only took moments and he was already fastening back up his doublet while he looked down to her. "His name is Jean-Valjean" they held eye contact, once slave and master, now equals.

Léon looked over to the pale skinned newborn, pretty, and sinfully delicious in his scent. For him it was going to be a deadly combination. Without years of veteran experience...he was only going to end up in the same situation that Léon had just saved him from.

"Why were you in that basement?" He had found him being sexually assaulted and consumed by lowly Vampires within Montreuil, only hearing it thanks to his improved senses...but how did Jean-Valjean get there?

The candle lights danced off the woman's dark skin, oddly enough when the hand was offered the young man took it without word and followed. His eyes watched the halls ahead of them, hand gripping the woman's and slowly he did move closer. Confused, scared, and just thrown back from a dream world made Jean-Valjean trust the first person he saw who wasn't drinking from him or forcing his mouth open. Whether the woman liked it or not, he gave his full and utter trust to her for showing that slight kindness of feeding him without hurting him.

He was too grateful to think anything ill of the woman for her skin or status.

Suddenly there were two others in front of them, the young man held his breath and his stomach sink. His trust was stretched very thin and didn't know what to do, whether he should be run or stay. He stood near Jocelyn but now took a step back. His old personality had changed very much from his old smart-ass and bold character he had been in a human life.

His throat tighten again and eyes cast to Jocelyn before he spoke, pale orbs returning to the man who he guessed was Léon.

"For my old master? I tried to escape the night he turned me. Then again and he threw me in the basement." Jean-Valjean replied as he kept away from the couple. His shirt was hanging off his shoulder, grass was stuck to skin from blood and honey.

"I don't remember very much." he spoke. He remembered only being fed on, never of the sexual assault or force to perform for his drops of blood that his master and his goons offered.

Aydelotte Manor: Tuesday 7th, 1800- 8:20 pm

Alexandre returned home, he ripped his coat off and shoved it into a hand's of a waiting servant. "Fetch me a mug of blood or I'll rip out your neck for it!" he threaten a child servant who scurried off to get it. Going to the study, the goon sighed "Master, we have a problem. Your property has been stolen."

Jocelyn kept quiet, only licking the blood off her lips to clean herself.

Léon continued to study Jean-Valjean, whomever his master was...it was doubtful he was going to allow this boy to run away without trouble.

"Who was your master? Do you remember?" Léon could only hope that it wasn't a member of The Council* at that point, he'd have no choice but to return him. He hated their little circle of power...but they could kill Jocelyn, Iris, and him time and time again...and he knew that most likely Jocelyn and Iris were not going to be given quick deaths...he wouldn't risk it.

Aydelotte Manor

Sitting at a dining table Noël had finely cooked turkey before him. Noël has his indulgences...while he couldn't eat food, he could still taste it. As punishment for slaves that were either disobedient or incompetent, he would starve them and force them to watch him as he chewed the food only to spit it onto another dish to be thrown away. All that delicious food wasted...

Two slaves were now looking broken heatedly at the plate of spat food. They would have gladly eaten it, being much better than anything they had ever been fed in their lives. They were the third generation of slaves, all somehow under the same master...

Mr. Aydelotte looked over to Alexandre with a raised brow...he didn't like having his property touched without his permission, much less stolen.

"And what would that be?" his voice bubbled with a threatening force.

The boy nod as he remembered the name and face very well "Noël Aydelotte, he had been my master well I was farm-hand a well." Jean-Valjean said as he pulled up the cloth to cover his exposed skin. He hated having anything exposed on his body. Dark circles could be seen well against the pale skin. Most of the holes in his neck and arms had healed up, but there was still holes left.

"Are you by chance Léon? I owe you a debt."

"The boy, Jean-Valjean. We took him to get fresh air as you told us and we were attacked. The other two are ash now, Jean was taken then." he informed his master. Jocelyn tensed at the name. That man was evil, a dark and twisted slave master.

His estate was far across town where the wealthiest. This was not good.

Léon's reaction was not that far different. But he did consider the levels of power between him and Noël. The man had more than a few spawns under his command.

Léon had drawn first blood and stole the man's precious creation...and that felt good.

"Yes I am" he studied Jean-Valjean's clothing and skin...he was a mess.

"You need to be cleaned and need clothes..." he turned his head and looked up to Iris who was leaning on the railing of the stairs. "Bring fresh clothes to the river" Iris sauntered away obediently. The tall Vampire walked to a broken dresser and pulled out a cloth.

"Come Jean-Valjean" He wasn't sure what he was doing, but for now the boy was under his wing.

"Get him back. Now." he ordered Alexandre and tuned him out again to enjoy his food.

Jean-Valjean was mostly silent from that point on and only speak when splen too. That had been burn into him and he wouldn't dare return to a old state in fear of being beaten with the iron post again. Even if his master was miles away, Jean-Valjean feared that he could still be punished.

Following the man, the youth sighed softly as his legs began moving. It seemed like he got a new master. It didn't bother him much other than the fact that he felt like he would always be under the control of some other man whether it be human or creature.

Tuesday 7th, 1800- 8:44 pm

It took a bit of walking, through the front door the right wing of the mansion spanned a bit which added to the time it took. By the time they crossed into the back of the house it was woodsy. Léon led Jean-Valjean through the easiest path he could to the river.

Branches, grasses and bushes were crushed along the way and bushes were rustled...clearly Jean-Valjean was not the most silent stalker of the night. There was so much Léon was going to have to teach him so he'd even have the slightest chance of survival.

At the river, there seemed to be no beginning or end, it only flowed through the forest. It was roughly two people's heights wide and a little deeper than one person's length. It was just the right size for bathing. Léon handed Jean-Valjean the cloth in his hand.

"Are you well enough to clean yourself?" his voice was like a dark honey. Standing close, Jean-Valjean could smell his musky male scent. Vastly different from the scents of womenkind.

Léon himself smelled a pleasant mix Jean-Valjean...an effeminate musk...flowers were highlighted in the background of the smell, a second layer. There had to be a reason for this unusual scent. But he couldn't figure out what it was.

Jean-Valjean followed the man, grabbing onto anything to steady his steps. Once they made it out and to a river the youth looked to Léon "Yes, I am..." he said softly as he caught the scents of the other male. It was strong yet instead of flinching away he enjoyed the smell. So Jean felt a bit better being around Léon "Thank you." he said as he sighed before undoing his clothes and getting into the river well covering his lower half where there was a few markings there. Jean-Valjean wouldn't be able to remember where those came from or even see them with how quickly they were healing.

Washing himself the young man took in a deep breath and smiled happily as he was able to wash off the firt and grim. Scrubbing his neck, arms, torso, and legs, Jean-Valjeann could only look back at Léon now and again. His guard still up.

"Monsieur Léon; what happened? I'm not sure how I even got outside the walls of the Manor walls of my master."

Alexandre nod and smiled before leaving to change into better clothes and grabbing a weapon. He could find the little pet soon.

Léon kept quiet while he studied Jean-Valjean, his eyes darted between the markings and the shape of the boy's body. His mind was distracted by the pale beauty's unusual characteristics. Living a life of exile gave Léon more years to live, but it didn't make him much wiser. Beyond a few Vampric brawls, Jocelyn, and his only surviving spawn, Iris, he knew little of Vampires. The only understanding he could hold was what he saw and all the Vampires he knew were similar, the only new thing being developing powers with age...even then neither him or Jocelyn knew any older Vampires. Every step in development the two took together was new and unknown.

It opened a slew of questions...could Vampires change from region to region? Could they have different abilities? Strengths and weaknesses? There was a magic to Vampirisum but for first several hundred years it seemed subtle...maybe that was not true for all Vampires?

These thoughts consumed him, a glazed look in his eyes until Jean-Valjean spoke up. Léon cleared his throat.

"I was hunting in Montreuil...in the distance I heard yelling and cries for help...I went to them and found you. I killed two...but one got away...and then I took you here once I realized you were already turned. You were beaten terribly...but I fear that's not the only foul thing they did to you" he spat on the grass next to him. Ever since he knew what had happened to Jocelyn he despised such actions...it only grew when he sired Iris after her attack.

Jean-Valjean held to the river's side as he looked up at Léon with large pale blue eyes as he listened. Frowning he tilted his head back "What do you mean not the only foul thing they did to me?" he asked not fully understanding. From the day he had known about the men he had never known them to do worst than beatings and tortures. Well at least to other males. Females were the ones who usually got the worst end of the deal but that was to be expect. Men were not the ones to be hurt in such way... well to the young man's acknowledgement.

Pulling himself out from the water, the young man quickly covered his groan and grabbed his old and torn clothes and let the shirt drape on his body. Pulling on the tan pants, the young man looked back to Léon "Will I have to return to him? He will be very angry when he finds out what happened."

Alexandre had started to leave the manor and returned to the field where his men were killed. Sniffing the air, he licked his lips and could smell the sweet blood. He followed the scent without a problem other than it starting to weaken. He would end up near the ruined manor before sun rise and would have to hide in a old barn to keep himself from burning up.

Iris arrived just as Jean-Valjean got dressed. Léon had kept himself quiet, not answering the boy's question. He looked over to Iris.

"Here are better clothes for you to wear" In Iris' hands were clean cloth pants, undergarments and a loose cotton shirt with a slight V cut and strings to loosely shut the front. While Iris wasn't saying anything, she continued to eye Jean-Valjean like a hungry predator. The wind blew lightly at the stands of hair that fell at her sides from her up-do. She too was wearing garments much like the ones she was handing the boy, the cotton was mildly transparent...allowing sight to her chest and tint of her soft skin. There was an air of tension around her.

For now it seemed like Léon was going to leave Jean-Valjean's questions unanswered, waiting for him to change.

As the other woman came with a set of clean clothes, the young man slowly took them from her, keeping away from any skin-to-skin contact with the two. Going behind a tree the male changed quickly before returning to them, eyes looking at the two as he rubbed his neck "Thank you very much." he said softly as he ran his fingers through his soaked, thick hair. The boy didn't question the man again and simply kept himself mostly separated from the two. Especially the girl. She just made Jean-Valjean uncomfortable.

(Once they returned to the manor)

Jean-Valjean entered the manor, his old clothes now traveling down the river. The brunette looked around the manor and slowly he separated from the others and found himself upstairs. He opened a few doors to find rotting rooms that could barely hold the weight of collecting water or branches that had fall into them. He kept at it until he found a room that was in good condition. It the walls were up, no hole in the roof, and for the most part it was dark. He moved to the window and found himself face to face with a bird's nest outside of ravens. His pale fingers pressed against the glass and he stood quite as he watched the sleeping creatures.

Back in the mansion, Léon stood before Jocelyn, the two pondering. Jocelyn had her hands at her hips, showing just how unhappy with the situation she was.

"Noël Aydelotte..." for the two of them, that man was the only other Vampire they knew by name. Léon had a basic understanding that the man was older, and most likely stronger than him...he scratched his beard.

"Do we will risk keeping him?" she asked the tough question. "We've lived here peacefully for over 200 years, I do not want that taken away!" It was true...they had made many sacrifices to keep themselves from any view, isolation was very lonely but also very safe. It was the reason why Léon only had one spawn, the more mouths the feed, the more attention it would have drawn...

While the two thought hard about their actions with Jean-Valjean, Iris left them and went to find him.

"I've never seen another Vampire before..." Iris teased as she leaned against the door frame, looking at the boy nature watching. "younger than me that is..." she started to saunter closer. "Your siring was very much like mine...so I hear. Bloody...taken against our wills..."

"He's lost and alone...we have to help him."

"As you have done with Iris?" there was tension in Jocelyn's voice.

"Yes?" Léon he raised a brow, irritated, not understanding what she was implying.

"Look at her, some people are just not meant to be saved. We only prevented that...boy's death for now" it was odd to see someone physically older than her, yet younger than her...she never got that dynamic much still.

"I do not believe he'll be found. He's more than a mile away from town, opposite side of Aydelotte's estate. No one would suspect this location"

"Only if we don't draw attention to it..." she sighed, and he did as well.

**

Iris continued to walk closer, Jean-Valjean could smell that womanly smell about her too. It's variation was sharper and more intense than the adolescent.

She placed a hand on his chest and looked into his eyes. "When Léon sired me, I woke with every hole of my body burning in pain..." she tilted her head as stepped even closer, now an inch apart. "Do you hurt like I did? It's been very lonely here...that's what life like a Vampire is like...lonely"

The male gasped as he felt the wall prevent him from moving any further. His eyes stared back into the woman's eyes, somehow he had kept some innocents from his human past before the new year. "Burning pain? ... only around my neck and arms... and... my throat... but ..." the boy trailed off as she cut the space between them. "How can you be lonely? You have Jocelyn and Léon." he pointed out. His body shuffled against the wall until he felt the exit. Slowly he backed away from it.

"Perhaps it is best we return to them now?" he said trying to get away from her. Something about her, the smell and how she acted was unsettling.

Watching the woman walk away, Jean-Valjean stood silent. Was being lonely so bad? No one hurt you, you didn't have to worry about others and best of all no one could hurt them. The young man returned to the stair case and looked down at the body of vampires who were talking. The young man wet his lips as he started down slowly "Is everything okay?"

At this point Jocelyn and Léon were staring at each other with tension. He stood still and her hands still kept at her hips. In their eyes their arguments replayed over and over.

Finally Léon broke eye contact and looked to Jean-Valjean.

"Yes...we were just speaking. How are you feeling?" Jocelyn crossed her arms across her chest and walked off, her shoes clicking. Léon's eyes looked over at her regretfully for just a quick moment before they rested back on the newborn.

Swallowing hard the vampire watched as Jocelyn walked away. Nodding the boy bit his thumb "Much better..." he said softly as he came down the steps and had his arms crossed over his chest. "What happens now?" he asked as he stood by the railing. Somehow the left side of the railing of the stair case was in still good conditions, something he was happy with and found the nicest thing in the whole manor.

Tuesday 8th, 1800- 1:23 am

The night had went by slowly Jean-Valjean asked a few questions, mostly about what had happen when he was taken and what he should expect from this new life. He knew very little of the vampire life style other than he was no allowed to go into the sun and if he dare cross any rushing river that he could only find death.

Léon tried to be as detailed as possible. He didn't know why he Jean-Valjean was taken...but he described where in town it was. For now he kept out any mention of the scent. Informing the boy, he told him that much of their life was just staying in this mansion, avoiding Humans unless it was to feed. Life now was about hiding in the shadows.

He told Jean-Valjean the basic weaknesses all Vampire share, from the garlic, to the sunlight and requirement of a mortal's permission to enter their house...some religious protection that he couldn't really explain it was simply one of those 'just is' kind of things.

The women of the house seemed to have been keeping their distance.

The sky above began to be colored slowly with deep purples to soft oranges reds as the sun began to make an appearance. The male had taken to look for a place to rest, somewhere that sunlight would not enter and he could not have to fear of it opening without him actually trying to open it. The boy found an over-turn wardrobe and crawled into it. Curling up he waited, the sun moving slowly and he knew he had already a hour or two to still explore before the rays actually came to harm him. For now it was only a reflection that couldn't harm the four vampires.

But it seemed as though Jean-Valjean was treating like it would kill him.

The women already entered their coffins, each located opposing sides of Léon's. The man in question looked around for Jean-Valjean...he didn't think it would fair for the boy to sleep in the wardrobe and it wasn't the safest spot...at least that's what he was telling himself as he approached Jean-Valjean. It was for his safety...

"You do not need to sleep in there. It is much more comfortable and safer in a coffin. You can rest in my coffin if you wish. That way I can keep watch over you while we sleep" There was that smell again, it made his heart flutter.

Perhaps the wardrobe wasn't the most comfortable place to sleep in and no matter how he moved Jean-Valjean found himself only upset to find that he was either stuck in a uncomfortable position or that he had a chance of rolling out. Upon hearing Léon's offer, the youth crawled half-way out of his place of hiding and looked up to Léon. The man was older, he knew more of this life style and it would be best to have someone watch out for him for now.

Then again the idea of them being in a coffin together was not at all appealing to the youth. Without complaint though Jean-Valjean agreed with a nod and stood as he followed Léon to the coffin. Looking back to the man the boy hugged himself, eyeing the coffin and then the wardrobe. Thinking.

You have no chance of rolling out... and he hasn't harmed you yet so... climbing into the coffin, the boy watched as the lid closed and felt as his body pressed against the other man's body. He shuffled around a bit but soon his head ended up on Léon's chest well a leg straddled the man's lap. This couldn't be more awkward.

While Jocelyn's coffin was closed, Léon swore he could feel her eyes rolling as was cuddled up with Jean-Valjean.

Being so close to him was pleasant in an more sexually exciting way than it was with the scents of his female companions. Having the newborn's head against his chest triggered a mix of paternal protectiveness and sexual desire. In that he could appreciate it without acting it out. Léon hadn't felt desire in a very long time. While he was in the company of two extremely beautiful females...he never felt desire for them. Perhaps that was another reason why they were safe with him.

A part of him wanted to tell Jean-Valjean good night...but the silence in the air was something he felt like he couldn't pierce. It was already so uncomfortable, from Jean-Valjean's side, that he didn't want to keep pushing the envelope. Choosing instead to close his eyes, he let himself drift off to sleep after he knew the boy had fallen asleep

(If there are no dramas or interruptions during the day)

Tuesday 8th, 1800- 6:23 pm

The winter nights gave them the most active time, and with the sun already down it awoke the three elder Vampires. The two women were working their way out from their coffins and Léon was debating how to get out without waking Jean-Valjean.

Slowly opening the lid of the coffin he tried to push himself out without waking the boy.

The boy felt his body relax a little and his hand lay on the man's stomach. Slowly his eyes began to flutter close, unable to fight off sleep any longer. Soon his cuddled up with Léon in the darkness of the coffin. Soon he fall into a dreamless sleep, body relax and head buried into the man's chest. His lips moved, but nothing came out of his throat and soon silence ran their day.

Tuesday 8th, 1800- 6:23 pm

Valjean rolled his shoulders as movement began, the boy lifted his head slightly and eye lids opened half way as he looked up to the darkness where Léon's face could have been. Their faces were so close yet so far, but lucky nothing ever touched. The boy woke and helped push the lid off, the side effect of straddling the older vampire. The boy sheepishly helped the man out, about to climbing out as well before his body went limp and he fall back to asleep. As a newborn he would find that he needed to sleep more than usual for the first few months. Maybe now and again he would have energy to wake up and be active but till then he was going to favor sleep more.

**

Alexandre woke and found the scent gone. He had lost it. So he left to look for the young man, he couldn't have gone far. He would need to feed soon and with how inexperience he was, the boy would crawl back to them. He must have escaped the other vampire by now, that was a talent of his.

Then the cold winter wind blew, the scent suddenly returning and soon Alexandre found the boy's clothes. He sniffed damp clothing and growled softly, the scent of the other vampire was faint but he was sure this must have been the man who took his master's blood slave.

(if he were to meet one of the girls before he reaches the manor)

"Hello... girl. Have you seen a newborn?" he simply asked. Too tried to think straight.

With a pause Léon had accepted Jean-Valjean's help from his coffin. The man was going to help the youth get out as well with Jean-Valjean lost his footing...the newborn were also so delicate and required rest. Léon helped moved the boy to a comfortable sleeping position before shutting the coffin. Jocelyn walked to the bookshelf and grabbed something to read...there was little to do in isolation and all the conversations she wanted to have with Léon had already been said time and time again in the span of their long Vampiric lives together. Sometimes a little bit of separation helped.

Iris however just proceeded to go upstairs, she was getting hungry. She was debating asking Léon if she could go hunt alone, but he always shot her down...saying she's too young. Seeking some peace of her own, she had left the mansion to be with nature in the premises.

Tuesday 8th, 1800- 6:45 pm

While Iris was moving her hands through flowers, the sickly looking man approached her. She tensed as he spoke to her, he was clearly a Vampire and one much stronger than her. But in a way...she was attracted to his strength and his scent.

"No..." she plucked a flower from the bush and put it in her hair, complimenting her sexually piercing beauty with a gentle touch. Alluringly, she walked closer to the man and looked up to him. "It is just me and you here in these woods...there might be things more interesting here than whatever it is you're looking for" she flirted.

Tuesday 8th, 1800- 6:45 pm

The man smirked of the flirting child, she was amusing. Alexandre pulled the girl close, grabbing her wrist without care and tilting her head back "Little girls shouldn't be out in woods alone. Besides, what I am looking for is more interesting and rare than a woman spreading her legs." he stated as he pushed her back and shook his head "Besides, I need to find him if I ever wish to use my cock again." Alexandre muttered as he looked around. The scent was gone again. The winter wind doing too well to make the scents push further away.

Without another word the man went ahead to look, now calling out the boy's name and promising not to beat him with the iron and silver rod if he promised to come out peacefully.

Jean-Valjean still sound asleep and his scent now hidden among the other vampire's and surrounding scents.

**

The young man woke up, slowly sitting up and pushing the lid off. He felt good. Making his way out of the coffin, the child of the night stumbled from his bed and woke himself up as he cleared his eyes.

He walked up the steps from the basement and entered the great hall. He wasn't keen on what he should do so he found a room and explored it.

Iris was disappointed as she was left high and dry once again. Why couldn't she ever get a lay? Before creepy, rejection man left she shrugged and spoke coyly "When can use it, find me monsieur" bored again, she bent back down to the flowers. There was no point in trying to fight the man or reacting in some obvious way to indicate the boy's presence. It was better if she just let him wander off.

Tuesday 8th, 1800- 10:10 pm

The mansion had been quiet, Léon wasn't around but Jocelyn was easily spotted in the entrance hall reading. She had only looked up at the boy to acknowledge his presence before looking back to what she was reading in the pitch dark. The boy returned back to the room where Iris had disturbed him at and was able to look out to the winter woodlands.

**

I'd post more but I don't know where Alexandre is...I hope I didn't skip too much time. I'm assuming he'd be unable to find the boy sense he lost the scent.

Alexandre found he was unable to find anything of the boy again. Defeated, he left and returned to the manor. It was getting colder outside and there was no use now. They could be anywhere and Alexandre had to come up with a plan if his master wished for him to be successful.

**

The boy stood in the room having found everything there and made a small pile of interesting things he liked. There was a pile of worn out books, another pile of clothes, and a pile of flowers he had found. Taking a book the young man opened it up and found the leather to be enjoyable against his fingers. Sitting in a corner Jean-Valjean began to read, at least he tried. Being from a poor family he never had the chance to learn such skills, he knew a little and was able to sound out the words. Having to repeat them over and over again until he got them.

Tuesday 8th, 1800-10:20 pm

Jean-Valjean exited the room with the pile of clothes in hand, it didn't seem to be touched at all. He had found them tucked away in the closet in a chest and thought they looked useable. Seeing Jocelyn, the child walked over slowly "Madam, I want to help out... do you think I could do anything with these to help you out?" Jean asked. He wanted some kind of positive respond, he didn't like being a drain on anyone and if he had to stay he would like to at least be useful in some kind of way.

"I'll do whatever you need of me." he stated. It wasn't sexual, if anything it was like he was returning to his servant state of mind. Maybe he liked the woman better than his older master and wouldn't run his mouth or talk back like he use to before.

Slowly, Jocelyn lowered her book and looked up to Jean-Valjean before her eyes rested on the clothes he held.

"No, just stay in the mansion. I'm protecting you. When Léon returns, ask him. For now..." she took an unsure pause...what could she have him do? At his current level of power, he was near useless. "Practice using your Vampiric teeth" she opened her mouth and past her plump African lips, her two upper canines elongated, curved and sharp. A moment later they retracted back to Human size and she closed her mouth. She looked at him expectantly. "When you find out how to do this, come back to me and show me" dismissing him, she raised back her book, clearly not interested in speaking to him again.

Montreuil

Léon and Iris were cloaked and walking through the city. They moved past all the horses and carriages. Their targets were always the poorer citizens. Preferably the sickly that were going to die anyways. At least, this was was what Léon had taught his spawn: get targets no one will miss. It also served as a moral compass to help ease suffering...just in case there was a slight chance for their damned souls to ever find heaven.

Either way, Iris didn't care, rich or poor, their blood tasted the same. But the ill tasted a little undesirable...but they were the safe picks. In the poor sections of the well to do city, people were living on the streets and unattended alleyways. The levels of economics were extreme depending on what part of the city they went.

Here they were able to find a sickly woman coughing up precious blood as she laid against a wall. She was pale and alone. Iris took first bite, her cloaked figure covering the woman. Léon finished her off as quickly as he could. Léon was not a man of cruelty, but learned that he couldn't deny his nature either: he had to feed off Humanity. Sparing the pained ones seemed like the best choice, even if they were not asking for it.

Disposing of her body required them to chop her into pieces, throwing them into bags and dumping them in the surrounding forest. It would have been stupid to leave corpses with hole punctures in the neck. Better they remain a myth than reality. There were many dark forces in the night, better that they didn't know so they may sleep at night.

The boy nod and left the woman to be alone to go practice as he was told. Jean-Valjean sat in a room that seemed to be his own now and began to work on his fangs. It was harder to make them appear without blood present and when they did come it they were only half way. He grunted softly but kept at it which filled a good hour or two for the boy.

Tuesday 8th, 1800-11:41 pm

As his fangs slid out for a second time without problem, Jean-Valjean felt a bit proud of himself when he didn't need to focus on them so much. He tried a third time and was pleased with the results, it seemed like this might not be too hard after all.

Then the scent of blood hit him and he stood slowly as he walked to the window and looked out pass the branches and dead leafs. Outside was a wounded animal, prey that had somehow made it this far. Then the wolves showed, each taking a part and pulling as the animal cried out for help. Somehow Jean-Valjean felt effected by it as he watched the scene of the prey being ripped left and right without a chance to escape. His hand gripped the windowsill and he froze up as all he did was watch. In way he felt like that had been him before, a prey who was pulled apart with no problem to feed beasts. Through the deer below was much luckier then he, at least it died. If he was back at the other manor, he could be ripped apart time after time.

While Jean-Valjean was occupied, Léon and Iris returned to the manor. Sated, Iris walked off somewhere to hide and ponder life. Léon however did not have the pleasure, he needed to speak to Jocelyn.

With his stern face, her attention was pulled immediately.

"What is it Léon?" she was getting worried. His eyes held a dark message.

"Iris told me that someone was on the land" She raised a brow "looking for Jean-Valjean" her non-beating heart dropped. She KNEW this would happen.

"It's inevitable. He'll be found and we'll no longer be safe. Now that they know of this place, they will be back" The adolescent slammed shut her book as if a dramatic finish to her statement.

"I know..." Léon ran a hand down his face. What had even brought this person so close to the mansion. Luckily, Iris did the best she could to not confirm the man's suspicions. "Where is he?"Jocelyn stood and sighed.

"Upstairs, practicing the use of his fangs" Irritated, she walked off leaving Léon alone. She needed to think.

It took only minutes for the wolves to strip off the flesh and break the glass-like bones. That whole time the boy watched and never looked away, even when the guts and heart were shown. It was still beating when jaws snapped shut on the beating heart. Then they were gone, leaving a scattered mess of the deer behind. Swallowing hard the child shook his head and walked away from the window and returning to the hall. He leaned against the wall and tilted his head back as he watched the owls over-head through a small hole. No bigger than a bat size. Taking a seat he played with his thumbs. He wanted to return home to his mother and father... if they were still alive. He had been taking care of them since he was ten when his father had an "accident". He was the bread-winner and their nurse.

He wanted pray but his prayers would go unanswered.

Léon smirked and then sighed.

"You are still a little boy, more than you could understand" he now had to feed a newborn...Vampires were so fragile at the beginning. He pulled Jean-Valjean into a gentle hug while he thought more about what to do...the both of them enjoyed each other's scents.

People were looking for Jean-Valjean...but the boy needed to be fed. For Jean-Vajean's safety...he should stay within the mansion. But risking taking a Human out of Montreuil was dangerous. His hand rubbed up and down the boy's back with care. The boy couldn't feed on animals either, he needed the nutrients of Human blood to grow and recover...

He squeezed tighter when an idea struck him. It wasn't an honorable one, but it should work.

"I will be right back" he whispered kindly and let go of Jean-Valjean before walking off to find Iris. She was in a destroyed room simply looking up at the moon and letting light snow fall on her. Her face didn't hold that sexual wickedness, in her tranquil state, light shining on her, she looked divine...it made Léon feel guilty about the request he was going to ask. "Iris..." she turned to face him, back to her usual self. "I need you to lure a man out of Montreuil and into the mansion...alone" a smile crept across the young Vampire's face.

Doing this alone would be the safest option for Jean-Valjean, with both of the older Vampires to protect him just in case. Also, Jean-Valjean's scent would be all over Léon as they slept with their bodies together and have been in close physical contact...it just took away more variables and chances of danger.

"Sounds like fun, master" his spawn looked happy.

"Time to prove yourself, can you do it? If you can...you will be able to hunt on your own for now on. If you get into tru-" Iris waved her hand at him, silencing him.

"You will have your food for the newborn" Iris was quick to understand the strange request and walked passed her master to leave. Letting her go, Léon returned back to Jean-Valjean after several minutes of walking to return at his side.

"Just wait, you will be fed soon"

Iris began her mile trek to the town. Under the moon's light she was running quickly with her Vampiric stamina and speed, it would only take her several minutes.

Pouting, the child did not like to be called a child even if it was true. The young man gasped softly as he was pulled into a tender embrace. The musk from the older vampire filled his nostrils and he relaxed in the man's arms. Taking in deep breaths, the youth pressed his face into Léon's chest as he held to the loose fabric that covered the older male. Somehow a smile crept back onto his lips and he found himself once again calm. It was possible that Jean-Valjean was now attaching to Léon and trusting the man more and more.

The newborn nod and stood put as he watched Léon walk away. Glowing eyes now trailing back to the roof, jumping when he thought he had saw someone else return a look.

Swallowing he walked away from his spot and returned to the other side of the hall way to stay away from a peeping eye. It could have been anything but just seemed like a eye to the young man.

People were looking for Jean-Valjean but soon they got news, he was found dead and burned to the point where he could not be recoginze. A body was provided but no one would have ever figured out that it belonged to a slave. "It is such a horrible accident... he must have been returning oil to the basement when it happened." the man bullshitted as well as he could.

The people believed it. Even believed that the noble took in his ill parents to care for them and give them a nice home to stay in their final days. Yes, in a comfortable little wooden cage his mother would stay until she died from a cold or a knife.

Luring the man back to the manor was not difficult. The only annoyance was the fact the man ran slower than her Vampric physical qualities allowed. So, she teased him with a race, keeping her pace slow but just ahead of him. He had followed her all the way into the manor, the man believing she was into some odd kink and wanted to be fucked in the run down place for extra thrill

Léon was proud of his spawn and when she lured in the man he broke his neck. "You have done will Iris. Thank you" she smiled, pleased with herself for once. The man carried the body back into the room Jean-Valjean liked to nature watch in and dropped the low class man to the ground. The body was still sweaty from all the running it had just done, but the blood was very fresh. Léon looked to Jean-Valjean with a serious expression. "You will need to drink all the blood from the body...you need it..." also the fact having Iris luring men would only work for so long...but he didn't want to burden the boy with such thoughts. The more he could eat now, the longer till he needed to be fed again.

Snow-flakes no longer bothered the boy, if anything he loved it now. Before he would whine, and with good cause, when it turned into winter. He use to have thin blood, he still did, but the cold no longer seemed to effect him. The young man was busy as his fingers played on the window. When the body was dropped, Jean-Valjean turned to his savior and nod as he crawled over. His fangs came out and plunged into the man's neck. The first taste he had was the salt from the sweat, then the sweet nectar from the blood. Sucking roughly on the corpse's neck, he kept biting as hunger began to control his mind and set him back to an animalistic set of mind until it could be satisfied.

Tuesday 8th, 1800-1:00 am

It only took half hour for the body to be drained of every last drop of blood. The neck ripped open and the boy's face covered in blood with his lips smacking as he licked the blood from his fingers and lips.

Hunger fully satisfied for now.

Even the boy's ability to feed was slow. Some of these strengths were gain naturally through time. Iris, Jocelyn and himself included were once newborn. It was a hard learning curve. It led to the deaths of many Vampires, a few of his spawns came to mind.

To get past it was a test of strength and intelligence. Léon looked at Jean-Valjean, hopeful that he would pass those tests.

"Good, good" he picked up the gray body, all its color sucked out of it. "I'll be back shortly" Léon left to bury the body in the backyard. In several minutes Jean-Valjean could see Léon from the window digging away with a shovel.

As the body was taken, the young man grabbed a rag and cleaned his face. He stood up slowly and returned to the window to see Léon burying the body. He yawned and went to his corner as he laid his head against the wall and felt himself full. Sleep captured his mind and memories replaced dreams. He could feel hands on his jaw, legs being spread by force and his own voice screaming for help and begging to keep it out of his mouth.

Tuesday 8th, 1800-1:20 am

Jerking awake, Jean-Valjean was shaking with sunken eyes and a dry mouth. Was that memory?...No... no they are cruel but not evil... you're just crazy. he told himself. Standing he exited the room and returned to the basement. It was cold there and it didn't bother the walking corpse. Walking around each coffin, he wondered how long the three had been in this manor for. He remembered always having to take the long way because there was something bad in the side of the country-side. Was this the bad thing?

Léon finished covering the corpse with dirt and walked back in the manor. Looking for Jean-Valjean he could hear and smell him, following the scent he went to the basement where he saw a contemplative face on him.

"What are you thinking about?"

Aydelotte Estate

Noël was walking through his grounds, looking at the plowed farmland. He was quite the wealthy man, he developed a system of slaves and it was comfortable for him. Regardless of its illegality...it was delightful how much morality leaves out the window when bribed...or killed.

One of his spawns, twenty eight in total now thanks to whomever killed two, approached him as requested. "Send for Alexandre. I need to speak to him" Noël grumbled in irritation, he was going to have to sire two more spawns, and newborns were always to most difficult to deal with...but if allowed to grow, his spawn could become unstoppable. Noël was a very exact man, he was always comforted by having 30 Vampire spawns. He could feed them all, and have enough muscle to get done what he needed. The beauty of having 30 spawns was if he desired to sire any more, his other spawns could raise and train them.

Alexandre was one of the oldest...hopefully he could do as he was tasked.

Looking up, the young man blinked and shook his head "Nothing... I... I'm not sure." he whispered softly as he bit his thumb. A trait of his when he was moving into deeper thought. "Some people can not be vampires... right Léon?" he suddenly asked. His eyes showed how doubtful he was with this situation, with himself having to be in this new life.

Aydelotte Estate

Now with the poor not thinking about Jean-Valjean, he started mapping out areas they could have gone. There were many areas but with a new born they could have to stay close to the nearby city and the villages so that brought the whole map down a little. He growled snapping the iron rod in his hand. This had never happened before and he didn't like it.

Being called, Alexandre straighten out his hair and clothes before hurrying to his master. Bowing he frowned "Good evening my'lord. I apologize for my absents. I needed to take care of a few issues. There has been no luck in finding the boy but I am narrowing it down. Please forgive me."

"No, anyone can be a Vampire...before I was changed I did not even know they existed. Young, old, anyone can be turned Jean-Valjean." The man frowned. "Why would you ask?"

He hated having to be the boy's source of answers when he didn't even have them all himself.

Aydelotte Estate

"It is not a matter of luck" he grumbled at Alexandre's word choice. "It is a matter of competence" He walked up to him and glared into the Vampire's eyes. "Where did the scent lead you? It should be so simple, no?" his question was a patronizing and rhetorical one.

"I believe that I am a mistake... I can't survive on my own and I barely do when I am with any other vampires. Even before you took my in I was barely on a string." he muttered softly as he rubbed his nose. Wetting his lips the young man walked over and rubbed his neck "Am I a danger?"

Frowning, the spawn sighed softly "Traveled into the old woods that no one goes into any longer. I lost the scent there, winter is covering it up and the only shred of clothing Jean-Valjean left the scent. It is gone now."

"For now we just need to make sure you are safe"

Aydelotte Estate

"Show me where"

(When shown the map and location pointed out)

Alexandre growled in his throat a she yelled at but wouldn't do anything about it. "Yes master, right away." he said as he started back out and grabbed another vampire to attend with him.

They rode to the woods and started to check out buildings and ruined homes. They would be at the abandoned village for a week or so well they did look in every possible hiding spot. Jean-Valjean was the newest source of liveliness in the mansion in a long time. Jocelyn's words crossed his minds, they might not be living here much longer...all because of this boy. Léon pulled himself back to reality and smiled at Jean-Valjean.

"Tell me about your Human life, what was it like?" He sat down on the ground, leaning against his coffin.

Léon gently closed the coffin and walked up to a wall. Leaning on it with a bent arm, his forehead rested against the forearm and he looked down to the floor. Why did he assume that Jean-Valjean would be like him when it came to attraction? Jean-Valjean was just an ordinary boy, no matter the scent, the his large bright blue eyes...he was just an ordinary boy thrown into something very unfortunate and tragic.

And now inadvertently, the three of them were also going to be tossed into it by the boy. Léon looked back at the coffin. No matter, he wouldn't just kick the boy out because he could never reciprocate his feelings. Léon wasn't a monster...well maybe he was...but most of all he was just lonely. He knew Jocelyn was and so was Iris.

Maybe Jean-Valjean could make Jocelyn happy? They were more around the same ages physically speaking, she was also very beautiful...maybe Iris if his tastes were more wild. That poor woman...she was a hurt being...she acted out the things he saw done to her.

He sighed and clenched a fist. No one was really happy, it would have been better if they all just died. Why did he save Iris? Léon's sense of pity only hurt others, perhaps this boy shouldn't live either? Maybe God would be kind for this young soul?

Eventually all the Vampires went to bed, Jocelyn and Léon exchanging another argumentative look over the boy before they slept.

Still awake, Jean-Valjean lifted the lid and found it was the growing now. Straddling the man he could feel their hips pressed against once another, he gasped softly. It did feel nice, a little, but that must have been nothing. Pushing the lid off, the younger male looked down at Léon, his fingers brushed against the older male's cheek before jerking away. Sighing softly he climbed out of the coffin and recovered it.

Looking back he found he might have been the first one up. He started up the stairs and explored more around the mansion.

Village

"This will take too long and I didn't have any scent... Boy, keep looking here well I go off to the woods. I shall return before day break." the elder spawn said as he left to go look. He found a path and soon found himself in front of a ruined manor. He sniffed the air and there was a slight hint of the man. Looking up he thought he saw something move in the window. He pulled out his rod, getting ready.

The child was starting down the stairs when he saw a shadow. He stood quite, quickly hiding back in a room and opening the window as he heard foot steps near him.

"Little Jean-Valjean, are you really going to run? You're only making this harder on yourself." he called out. The boy climbed out and down a tree before the door opened. He wanted to call for help but knew this one might be too tough. So he ran into the woods. Alexandre laughed, this was a game now. He the hunter and Jean-Valjean the prey.

He left through the window and hummed softly as he followed the fresh scent. He could hear the boy running and running. This time he would be captured.

But he was also smelling...someone else...Jocelyn and him shared a look. Their suspicions instantly rose and the two of them leaped out of the window. Iris, not knowing what her master was doing, followed behind quickly.

Running, they began to follow the trail of mixed scents: part Jean-Valjean part pursuer. Their buckled shoes were racing through the forest with elusive grace. Léon was growing more furious by the moment. What was happening?

"Stop! Stop!" shouts and the rushing water could be heard. Jean-Valjean was being held to a tree as Alexandre began to beat him with the rod. He was thrown down, his left ankle twisted and fresh bruises showing up against snow-white skin. Panting, Alexandre growled and touched his cheek. The little bastard had found a blessed knife, and cut him with it. Jean-Valjean's hand burned with pain but as the rod sent his mind to another part of his body. His body shook with pain before Alexandre climbed onto the boy and held his arms held above his head.

The boy shook, Alexandre's eyes danced with glee "Do you know what trouble I have been through? Now when we return, I well take you in front of your mother and show how much of a woman you are now. Of course this is after master drinks from you. You what, perhaps your mother is dead already, she coughing blood the last I saw her." Alexandre laughed dryly.

Pushing Jean's head to the side, Alexandre sunk in his fangs in and drank from the boy. The blood like the rarest wine from the king. Jean-Valjean froze as he was used for his blood. His voice was gone and his ears went deaf as Alexandre sat up and began to say something else. The next thing he knew was his pants were being forced down and his legs were being forced open as he begged to just be taken back to their master. He didn't want this. Alexandre backhanded the boy as he started to undo his own pants and press the child's face into the snow to muffle returning voice.

Fury hit all three of them for their own personal reasons and Léon headed the charge by leaping into the air and tacking the man off Jean-Valjean.

Jocelyn was right behind and she began to kick at the man on the ground as hard as she could. Iris, ran over to Jean-Valjean and looked at the wound on his neck. Alexandre said as he looked over to the other female vampire who was helping Jean-Valjean. "Get away from him you little whore! He belongs to a greater vampire and it would be wise not to make him filth by your hands!"

It was two verses one, and they were older, roughly the same strength in power but the odds were NOT in Alexandre's favor for survival.

The newborn grabbed to Iris hand and followed the woman as they were running away. He kept looking back and stumbling, he couldn't run like Iris and he wanted to make sure that Léon and Jocelyn were okay. He hadn't seen what happened when they were running. The boy stumbled again and again until they made it to the manor. Falling hard onto the wooden floor, the brunette looked up to Iris "We have to go back! Léon moved to the boy and Jocelyn wave Iris to follow as she went upstairs.

Léon grabbed Jean-Valjean and laid him up against a wall. His eyes looked down at the twisted ankle, he was going to have to fix it.

His hands went down to the foot. "Put some cloth in your mouth to bite on..." he grumbled "this is going to hurt"

(After Jean-Valjean braces himself)

With a loud bone crunching snap, the foot was moved back into place. Quickly, Léon undid his shirt and exposed his neck. "Drink, it'll heal the wound"

(If Jean-Valjean drinks)

Léon was correct, the blood was helping heal the wound quickly, quieting the pain that was shouting through his body. When he was healed, Léon pulled himself away and rolled his shoulder.

"We have to leave now..." Léon didn't sound at all pleased. His face showed a great sadness truth be told. "Are you alright?"

There wasn't much preparation they could do. They never expected they would have to run. Each of them was handed a makeshift bag and a black cloak. Putting them all they all gathered in the entrance hall. Jean-Valjean could feel the anger radiating from Jocelyn.

Léon was feeling a tad weaker from the consumed blood but wasn't showing it. Iris was suppressing a small joy, freedom from this place.

"We have several options to flee to" Jocelyn began to educate Léon, it was clear she was only speaking to him as her face and eyes would not turn to the younger two. "West is Paris, South is forest, North is Le Harve and Rouen"

"Smaller villages by the main river?" Jocelyn nodded.

"Past that is Dunkerque, port city" East was deeper into Montreuil, which would have been suicide, hence why the option was not brought up.

"By scent...we would be found eventually in the forest..." the adolescent nodded.

"I suggest we go to Paris, the amount of people will hide us from any followers."

"But the risk of our Vampirisum being found out is..."

"Extremely high." Léon ran a hand down his face in stress. Where were they to go? North wouldn't work either, too far of a journey between here and the twin villages was too far away...and they would stick out like a sour thumb. At least in Paris, free colored women wouldn't be such an attention grabber.

"We have to go to Paris...do you know how?" she nodded, their lives saved by her extensive book reading. "We leave, now" He turned to Jean-Valjean as the women were stepping out from the mansion. "Come" he pushed urgently.

The trek was difficult and they only continued to be surrounded by trees. Like this, they were exposed. It did not help that they had to move at a slower pace for Jean-Valjean. Iris had been keeping herself distracted by scanning all the woodlands around her. Everything new, finally in 30 years.

Léon still had that same unhappy face about him. But he too kept silent.

Aydelotte Estate

Noël's spawns finally returned, bloody...and empty handed. He listed to Alexandre's excuses, but they only made him angry. It would be obvious that whomever these Vampires were, they would not stay at the ruined mansion.

"Take ten of your brother and sister spawn and go after them! The more you complain, the most time you waste! Heal your wounds and do as your master commands you!" The older Vampire pointed down at the spawn with fury.

Alexandre frowned and nod as he went to feed and had ten of his brothers and sisters get ready to go. Most of them were to fight and three were to heal them. Soon they all moved out with thick cloaks, stakes, and a rope to keep the boy bound. They were silent as they left, Alexandre now planning on making Jean-Valjean his bitch. The little prick would be broken more than he already was.

The forest

It was so silent, it made Jean-Valjean try to move faster so someone could talk. Still nothing and the worst part was it felt like he would fall asleep. He kept himself awake as they moved. The young man was trailing behind everyone. His legs always keeping them behind the whole group. He felt horrible about it.

They were alone for time being but by the time they would reach shelter, the group after them would be at the mansion, the scent still fresh from the blood drops.

**

When the small group got to shelter, Jean-Valjean stood in his cloak and stood away from the others. He no longer felt welcomed and wished that Alexandre had taken him... at least the others would still be safe in their home.

They pushed as far as they could...it of course had to start raining. With the situation even worse and the newborn on the verge of collapsing, they had to find somewhere to hide during the sunlight.

There looked to be what was once a den for larger animals: a large circular opening below a large hollow tree log. Jocelyn looked inside and crawled around, the tress, judging from the moonlight also added great shade...they would be safe here.

Léon noticed how weak Jean-Valjean was and grabbed him so he wouldn't fall.

"You need sleep newborn" a sigh escaped him. They were all drenched, the cloaks clung to them. The women had no modesty as the wet cloth clothing made them quite visible. Both looked very unhappy now. Over the sounds of rain falling on the nature around them, Jocelyn's crying could be made out. Léon helped Jean-Valjean crawl deep into the hollow log and hide in a more tunneled and concealed part.

Leaving him there to rest Iris went off to sleep elsewhere and before the eldest two rested...Léon embraced Jocelyn. His heart hurt too, but he had to be strong for both her and the newborn.

Jean-Valjean stood silent as he was taken to a hallow log, the young man curled in and he could hear the soft crying. This was more horrible than he thought it would be. The young man sighed softly and slowly he fall asleep, his cloak stuck to his skin and the cotton now grew only heavy. He promised he would make it up one way or another. He needed to make it up to Jocelyn the most.

Wednesday 10th, 1800-6:00 am

The sun was no where in the sky that day and rain only kept pouring. The newborn woke up, body still restating it seemed. So crawling out from the log, the young man saw only the rain clouds and could only hear the wind. He peeked to the elder vampires and frowned seeing them in that state. So slowly he left the grounds, memorizing how to return well he left to look for something for them to eat. He found a old drunk, his horse tied to a log and now rambling about something. It didn't take too much effort to bring him down, kill him, drain him (which his time did improve by twenty minutes) and steal a few things such as a coin purse and the horse so Jocelyn could ride it. She deserved a rest. As well as Léon.

The horse followed without a problem and it was more than happy to to get out of the rain for awhile. The beast rested and Jean-Valjean returned to his log. The thing seemed to believe Jean-Valjean as it's new owner somehow.

When the horse approached, it awoke the others. Quickly crawling out of their holes and standing, they looked to Jean-Valjean and the horse. They could smell the Human's blood on the newborn.

"Where is the body?!" Jocelyn asked with a frantic frustration. Léon kept quiet...whomever the newborn just killed need to be found. Iris stared at the horse with amazement, another new thing to enjoy outside that run down place.

"Gone. I dragged the body away from the path... came across some hungry wolves so they are taking care of it..." Jean-Valjean replied. He knew he was in trouble but didn't want have to talk anymore. The horse shook it's mane and stood beside Jean as he rubbed it's snout "It is still dark outside. It seems the rain won't stop. We could keep moving now, the horse can carry you and Léon." he said softly as he kept hold of the reins.

Swallowing the young man looked to Jocelyn "If you are worried about the body, you shouldn't be... they torn it apart and it was a good size group to finish it off." he said.

Jocelyn held her glare, but she also held her tongue. She was surprised the newborn actually disposed of the body. In fact, all three of them were a bit surprised that Jean-Valjean took care of it.

There was a moment of silence, they were letting Jocelyn lead at this moment. She ran her small hands through her hair, her exposed chest rising and falling with a sigh of frustration, breathing only used as an emotional expression. She turned to walk down the path but Léon stopped her by placing a hand on her shoulder. They shared eye contact, Léon could see her pain.

"Get on the horse Jocelyn...we need you strong...I need you strong..." the two kept staring till the adolescent turned around again and headed to Jean-Valjean and the horse. Without looking at the man-child, she mounted the horse. "You need to ride too newborn, we need to be able to walk the entire night" Jocelyn did not nook at Jean-Valjean from the horse, forcing herself to just keep looking forward. She was in danger of crying again, pushing her long wet hair off her shoulder and behind her.

Iris' stood impatiently, the rain messing her hair to fall down from its up-do.

Jean-Valjean wasn't too innocent, he knew some things about getting rid of bodies and stealing. How to cover up his tracks. It wasn't too hard and just with common sense it was smart to hide a body.

The boy kept his eyes down as Jocelyn mounted the horse, he was taking a step forward and the horse followed before he was stopped by Léon. Nodding he mounted the stallion shook it's head again before walking when told. The jingling of the coins were muffled under his cloak. The horse made time better as the new-born no longer slowed them down. The rain was going hard and the boy frowned. From under his cloak the young man pulled out coat and offered it to Léon. It was soaked on the outside but the inside was actually dry by some miracle.

Léon never took the jacket, insisting Jean-Valjean keep it on.

They pushed it, most of the time was riding through forests but eventually they had to get back on the road as it got thinner and thinner. Paris wasn't hard to see it all, it was expansive and right next to a large river. It was beautiful even in the rain.

The entire travel company was horribly wet, beyond description as they were under heavy rainfall for roughly 10 hours. To their benefit, they couldn't get sick, but Iris and Léon were hungry. They had passed carriages, but targeting high class was too dangerous and someone would have seen them, too close to the city.

When they entered, horse hooves began to clank on stone roads. All the shops were closed. Keeping the horse would have slowed them down now. Léon helped both of them down from the stallion before he pulled them away from it. Someone would get it eventually, who wouldn't appreciate a free horse?

Léon had to help Jocelyn walk, she was so distraught that he decided to carry her. She buried her face in his neck. Secretly Léon couldn't wait to rest, his body was sore. It could accomplish superhuman things, but it wasn't immortal.

The architecture of Paris was decorative stone that favored bright colors, multi story, narrow buildings and great decorative floral. One place was 'L'homme de sommeil' an inn that seemed to be one of the very few buildings open.

There were many more dangers in the city than there were out alone. Paris was strong in its faith, and with Jean-Valjean's scent...he was bound to pull out whatever Vampires existed in the city. Inside the wooden floors were instantly soaked from the company.

The man cleaning his well polished wooden dining tables looked at them with disgust and then concern as he saw the colored girl the tall man was carrying.

"Money please" Léon looked over to Jean-Valjean.

"How may I help you travelers?"

"Do you have a large room for us to rest in?" the middle aged man nodded.

The others looked so hungry, he wanted to offer his blood but they were too close to humans now. If they were found they might be killed. The young man stood silent and had draped the coat over the colored woman's shoulders, stating that she needed to keep her modest. He kept the horse going, feeding it wild carrots he found and promising more if it kept going for them.

Once int he city itself, the boy was amazed at first, he had never been there and now it looked like they were in some other world.

Feeding the horse a last carrot, he let it loose and walked away, the beast stood there, watching them before turning and wandered around.

The walk was slow and Jean looked around with wandering eyes. His attention returned to Léon and he quickly fetched the coin purse and handed it to the man. Staying quite he waited for them to be lead to the room.

Once inside a dry room with one large bed shoved against the wall, the young man sighed softly and stripped off his cloak as he hung it so it would dry. He did the same thing with the other cloaks before laying down on the cold wooden floor. He looked to the trio and took in a deep breath "Léon, Jocelyn needs to feed correct? I am still full... I could give my blood to her. It would not be a problem." he offered.

In the room, Jocelyn's crying was now audible. The rain was a loud, but distant sound past the thick walls and glass. Léon grabbed towels and began to wrap them around her, one around her hair. When Jean-Valjean spoke, the adolescent sat up, tears running down her paled face.

"Just be quiet! We had peace for two centuries! And in TWO DAYS you ruin it all! RUINED!" Léon reached out his arms with his hands stretched out as if he was trying to calm her down with his gesture. The outburst had caught him off guard.

"Lay down Jocelyn" she was laid down and she began to cry into a pillow she immediately made wet with her drenched body and weeping eyes. Iris looked around for more towels and pulled out two more, Jocelyn had the majority of them. She tossed one on the floor for the newborn. Stripping her clothes, as they provided no comfort and concealment, the wet material slumped to the ground in a pile. The towel was wrapped around her and she pulled the pins out of her hair, they weren't even hold her hair anyways.

She looked down to Jean-Valjean.

"I'll have some" she shrugged.

"-No one feeds off Jean-Valjean" he quickly interrupted. "...We'll eat tomorrow night..." Léon sighed and began to take off his top, his toned, hairy chest glistened with the water that seeped through his garments. "Let us get dry and rest..." Iris rolled her eyes in frustration.

His throat tighten as he was yelled at and he couldn't say anything to defend himself. She was right, he should have been left alone in that field... he should have died.

The young man stood clothed, letting the towel cover his head as he laid back down to rest. He slept around noon that day, the sound of the rain started to become soft and much more soothing to the newborn. Falling asleep the boy sighed softly. Perhaps he should leave them that following night, let them return to a peaceful life.

Outside the Tavern

A finely dressed woman looked to the place. Normally she would have walked by but a scent caught her nose, unlike vampires werewolves had much better scent and could track anything. Walking in, the woman took a seat and removed her hat as she ordered a drink. Genevieve licked her lips and waited. The Spanish born woman liked scouting for her husband, he loved blood and whenever she found a rare scent she usually followed it. At their home they had four servants who were boarded, thee were all treated well and only took a pint of blood every other week.

Léon stayed in his undergarments and rested with Jocelyn, pulling her close while she cried to sooth her. Iris had closed all the curtains of multi bay window before she laid down on the far other end of the large bed. Sleeping with wet hair was not comfortable, but being out of her clothes helped greatly.

Only the rain and Jocelyn's muffled crying could be heard till they all fell asleep.

Sitting up Jean-Valjean sighed softly and looked to the dry cloaks. His own clothes were still damp but he had refused to undress and it was best that he had slept on the floor. The newborn stood and watched as the other slept before he grabbed his cloak and checked the time. When he opened the door there was soft noises of a full tavern, he looked once more to the others before leaving the safety of the room. Once out he was approached by a woman.

"Good evening... oh dear, you're soaked."

"Erm... yes ... I ... do I know you?" he asked as she lead him to a table. The woman simply smiled as she shook her head "Not at all. My name is Genevieve Amor and I have been waiting for you child. Please do not be frighten. I am simply here to offer a deal. You see my husband seeks special blood... as odd as that may sound to some." she said as she eyed the boy who only eyed her back from under his hood.

"What does this have to do with me?"

"You do not have to act dumb love. I understand what you are and you most likely know about your blood by this point. I come with a simple offer that you could take or leave: Come to my home and become a servant with full pay, board, and freedom. Only thing you must pay besides your work is your blood, at least a pint every other week." Genevieve smiled. She stood and gave Jean-Valjean a small purse of franc "Just a little taste of what you could earn. Servants of special nature get more."

"Um... I'll have to think about it."

"Of course you do! That is good to see a newborn to have a head on his shoulders. Listen, once you've made your mind, return here tomrrow night. If not well, you have a whole purse of franc. Have a good evening... oh ... I didn't catch your name, how rude of me." the woman smiled softly as she put her hat back on. The boy took the purse and looked down at it "Jean-Valjean... just that... too poor to afford a last name." he stated. The woman giggled and nod as she pet his head "I see. Well, Jean-Valjean, I hope we could come to an agree tomorrow night if you show. Good bye for now." and with that, she was gone. Jean-Valjean was left at the table alone and no one paid any mind to the boy.

Hungry and tired, it took the others a bit longer to wake up. Each woke up in damp spots on the bed, but at least they had warmth and were significantly dryer. Jocelyn woke up pained, she looked over her shoulder to see Léon and he looked down at her before pulling her close again and holding her for a moment.

Sitting up, Léon expected Jean-Valjean to be laying on the floor still. His eyes opened wide with panic when this was not true.

"Where is he!?" Léon whispered aggressively through grit teeth to Iris. She groaned and rolled over, the towel curving with her figure, just stopping below her pelvis. She sighed, pulled herself into a sitting position, holding the towel around her. Also not seeing the newborn on the floor she shrugged. Léon ran his hand through his hair. "Watch over Jocelyn" he worked himself off the bed quickly.

His clothes were still uncomfortably wet, but so were his spares in his bag...their books ruined.

Leaving the room, he began to follow the newborn's scent to see where he was.

In public, Léon scanned over all the Humans with a brooding glare. Some of them looked because he was so tall, and handsome. His eyes fell back on Jean-Valjean, he wanted to grab the boy's shoulders and shake him.

"Why did you leave the room? You could have put yourself in danger..." he ran a hand down his face in frustration. He was going to have to find a way to feed himself and the two women...and they needed clothes, they couldn't go around wearing the sopped garments, they were see-through and no doubt uncomfortable.

He was going to need money, and a secure way to feed on Humans, fast. So many struggles danced in his mind, on top of trying to keep a wandering, uniquely scented newborn who liked to wander, safe.

Jean-Valjean had returned to see Iris sliding off the shoulders of Jocelyn's dress. The two women had looked at him awkwardly before they ignored him and continued. When he was in the corner he could only see her back. Once the dress was slid off, Iris helped wrap a towel around the adolescent.

Neither one were speaking to the newborn: Jocelyn back on the bed, laying on her side, facing away from him, and Iris was pinning her hair back up in her usual fashion.

Finally, Iris spoke.

"Of which persuasion are you?" After everything they'd been through, apparently that's what she wanted to break the ice with. A hand pulled a pin from her mouth and moved it up to her hair to continue styling it.

When the blood was presented, both women took it. It was delicious but once Jocelyn had enough to control herself she didn't desire to drink any more of his blood...or touch him....or be near him. Of course Iris was more greedy and had to have his wrist pulled away.

While both women fed, it wasn't close enough to make them perky with energy, but starvation was off the table. Iris crawled on the bed..all three of them incapacitated.

Thursday 11th, 1800-7:52 pm

Léon finally returned, two simple but elegant dresses with drape (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kkaTMhgrW7Q/TL5sZDQnD9I/AAAAAAAAFJA/65qUwYPDocQ/s1600/P1000567.JPG) folded over his arm. He was so weak, adding to the fact he had gotten lost did not help him return to the room any faster.

His eye widened when he saw all three of them laying weakly about the bed. Léon had to figure out what to do. He stumbled to a chair and folded the garments there. There was a great irony in their situation: they were swarmed with surrounding Humans, but to get one to feed one was nearly impossible.

Léon didn't have the strength to move out of the inn. They were going to have to feed on someone in the building...it was risky, but their only option...it wasn't the morally correct one either.

Quietly closing the door behind him, he began to follow the scents of the other occupants. He needed someone alone...with the scents so close his smelling gave him more detail. He could tell an old man was alone in one room. Knocking on the door the elder eventually opened the door with shaky hand.

Léon looked side to side quickly before deciding to act once in the clear.

"I am sorry" was all he said as he shoved himself in the room and snapped the man's neck. It was a quick and quiet death. His teeth came out and he fed until he was strong...it didn't leave much of the man left. Licking the blood off he checked outside again and saw a couple walking and talking together. They exchanged smiles before the couple entered their room.

He quickly carried the old man over to his room and presented the corpse to Jean-Valjean. Why did they feed off him when he said not to? From the state of the women he couldn't blame them...they were at the edge.

"Jean-Valjean...drink" the old man was held next to the newborn.

About 7 to 9 minutes passed in this post

There is an amount of blood to make Jean-Valjean not weak, but still hungry.

The boy heard the door open and with blurry vision, looked to see a blurred man coming into the room. Dim eyes lit slightly and a small, weak smile came to his lips as his head rose above the bodies before it laid back down on the bed.

When he smelled blood the newborn moved over and began to feed, drinking from one of the veins from the man's cold arm. He drank as much as he could before pulling away and curling up on the bed, the corpse now fully drained of any blood in his system. "Am sorry... they were hungry and they needed blood." Jean-Valjean whispered an explaintion as he tilted his head back to look up at Léon.

"Did you get them their new clothes?"

Léon dropped the body to the floor. He rubbed his shoulder and looked at Jean-Valjean and the others. Now he had one dead body, and still three hungry Vampires. He didn't even know how he was going to dispose of the first body. Léon really needed Jocelyn's help but she was too out of it to even speak.

He nodded to answer Jean-Valjean's question and used a tilt of his head to point at the dresses, undergarments resting on the chair. His mind went back to the rooms and scents of the hallway. He couldn't remember any more lone residents in the hallway...but at least he had the strength to leave the inn to grab the next person.

"I am going to get more blood...stay with them Jean-Valjean" his one track mind led him out the door quickly.

(If nothing happens between then in the room)

Thursday 11th, 1800-8:35 pm

Léon entered the room alone and empty handed. He sat down at the chair and looked at the door with a stern look. In his wide stance, hand on knee and intent look in his eye, he appeared to be expecting something.

Jean-Valjean watched over the women, covering them and cleaning Jocelyn's cheeks before opening the window to allow some air to come in. No one bothered them.

When Léon appeared he would find the body was hidden well in the room. The young man didn't say a word as he watched Léon just take a sit and now stare at the door. The young man now doing the same, wanting to see what was going to happen.

A man slowly entered the door. He was well dressed, in high white socks, buckled black shoes, tan poofy pants with frilly jacket. His face was covered in white powder, red to rose to cheeks and lips and a fake beauty mark.

The man walked in with a smirk looking at Léon, he was certainly a nice gentleman. His eyes then turned to Jean-Valjean and his curiosity rose and then flew more still when he saw the two women tucked in bed. He presumed Léon and his smaller male companion had 'spent' the women and now were looking for more.

"Long night monsieur?" he joked, he smelled of cheap cologne. Léon said nothing, but the man only gave a light laugh as he closed the door and walked up to Léon's open lap. The Vampire stood and grasped the man's throat. The man only laughed lightly again, thinking the tall gentlemen's sexual interests were not so gentle.

Léon snapped his neck and the man went limp, his feathered hat fell to the ground as the head lulled back. Léon sighed and looked to the women. Walking over he put the body between them and shook both of them awake. Each began feeding.

Léon rubbed his shoulders as he watched the girls. This was so stressful.

Watching the men, Jean-Valjean suddenly felt a bit jealous of the human who could simply stroll over and sit on the man's lap with no problem. No embarrassment and knowing what he wanted. Then suddenly there was a cracking sound and the green-eyed monster was suddenly gone as Jean-Valjean watched the body given to the women.

Seeing how stress the older vampire was, the newborn walked slowly over and reached up as he rubbed Léon's shoulders "Monsieur Léon, you should rest." Jean-Valjean whispered softly as he looked up at the man.

The scent of blood was slowly filling the room.

"I cannot" Léon protested, rolling his head as he was massaged. Jean-Valjean could feel the stress in the man's body. Taunt muscles under his fingers. The two women were gently suckling from each side of the man's throat, each giving soft sounds of moaning. Eyes shut, outstretch hand holding onto the body, the Vampirc women were slowly returning to consciousness. "You still need to be fed too" he looked over his shoulder and down at the newborn. "I know you must be hungry still"

The young man kept rubbed and massaging the man's shoulders. His eyes focused on the task at hand before Léon spoke "I will, after they have their share." Jean-Valjean smiled sweetly as he pulled his hands back and stood beside the older man. Watching the women feed, Jean's fangs slide out slowly, now waiting for his turn.

"Thanks" he sat at the edge of the bed and watched, protective of the women.

Both woman pulled away, Iris wiped her mouth with the back of her arm, Jocelyn licked her lips. The male was dried out, this was only noticed by his gray hands and throat, face still powdered. Iris pulled herself up into a sitting position and looked down at the body she just helped suck dry.

Jocelyn rolled away from it and out of the bed, holding herself while she stood away from it all. Léon pulled the body off the bed. "I am sorry Jean-Valjean...I will have to feed you later...I can't keep bringing people into this room" he put the corpse on the ground. Now he had two corpses to deal with but at least everyone could function.

Iris naturally found the clothes.

"For us?" she asked, Léon nodded. She dropped her towel and began to dress herself. Jocelyn was stiff with sorrow.

"It is okay Leon, I am fine." Jean-Valjean lied as he sat on the bed and watched the body. It was strang but he expected the man to get right back up and tease them in some form of manner. He sighed as he stood still and watch everyone.

At least Iris seemed please.

the young man played with the thread of the sheets as everyone seemed to be off somewhere else. He had made up his mind. He would leave them to make money and hopefully be able to make some kind of agreement to have them housed somewhere pleasent. Where he couldn't harm them.

Iris had the dress and drape adorned on her. She cross her arms loosely and simply stood about, casually viewing everyone in their sad states.

Léon walked over to Jocelyn who still wouldn't look up at him. Having to put an arm around her shoulders, he guided her to the clothes.

"Jocelyn I got you something to wear..." he tried to tell her gently. She grabbed them and walked into the washroom to change. Using his sense of smell, he found the other body that Jean-Valjean hid and put it beside the other. He obviously couldn't carry the bodies outside the room...and if he left them in this room...that would seem obvious. Their Vampirc tooth marks would also betray their secrecy.

"What are we going to do with the bodies master?" Iris asked with whimsy and humor looking at them.

"I have no idea..."

"We could always sneak them out," Jean-Valjean began as he stood slowly "Before I died I use to take out dead bodies now and again. Mostly of slaves. It shouldn't be too hard... my master use to make us do it even when his manor was filled." he stated as he crouched down and looked hard at themen.

Iris raised a brow in interest at Jean-Valjean. But Léon's look wasn't as lighthearted. Iris closed the windows just in case.

"I do not want to risk you..." He ran a hand down his face...he had been doing that a lot lately he randomly realized...so much stress...it was a good thing he didn't age, or he'd be gray haired by now.

Another two minutes passed and Jocelyn came out wearing her dress and drape. She walked over and looked at the bodies.

"Make it look like a murder and leave their bodies in the old man's room" Her intelligence guided them.

"And the bite marks?" Léon asked.

"Murder suicide...have both of their necks cut..." she rubbed her puffy eyes. Iris smirked, impressed. Léon nodded at her, it was a great idea to teach her reading...she was far more intelligent than he was.

"I will do it in several hours. I do not want us look suspicious" Jocelyn shook her head.

"We can't stay here much longer...no doubt we've been followed...the rain wouldn't kill our-" at this she looked at Jean-Valjean with displeasure "-scent. If the older man had francs, take them...we will need it"

"Jean-Valjean helped us get the money for your dresses" The adolescent looked down, she never thought about where the dresses had come from, too emotional to think about it. Léon wanted to break some of the tension between the two.

"How?" her voice held irritation.

"We will have to talk about it later...for now I will deal with the bodies" Jocelyn and Iris watched Léon drag them near the door, open it, check for people in the hallway and quickly move the bodies out in the hallway. Not even a pause after did they hear another door open and close.

"How did you get that money?" Jocelyn asked Jean-Valjean with greater irritation.

Jean-Valjean nod and stood up as he began to fix up the bed. He felt useless, a new experience for the young man. For most of his life he had always been the one working and always being on top of any task he needed to do. Now he was a infant again that had the knowledge that he was useless during this time and place.

With the glare, Jean-Valjean stiffen and quickly looked away, eyes casting down.

Jean-Valjean helped get the bodies together and stood close by the door as he wanted to jump out if it was ever needed. The young man turned to Jocelyn and took in a rubbed his fingers together "A woman. She offered me a job as a servant and gave me money to convince me. I have to come back tomorrow to make the arrangements..." he explained, leaving out major details.

The young man watched them before slowly standing up and grabbing more things that they may use. He stood silent as waited for them to move first. The child remembered what tavern they were in and how to return to the place for the meeting for the next night.

Near the city of Pairs-2 hours away

Alexandre and his family were making their way to the city. Anna-Bella had caught the scent of the newborn and was the one in lead. The scent was fate but still there. They would find him and hopefully eh wouldn't travel too far into the city where it might become difficult with the all the scents bleeding into one another.

Leaving the window open to air out the scent of blood from their room, they paid the owner and left. Back in public, there were not many people around. Candle lights from the many buildings lit the way. Waking passed many of the narrow buildings tightly packed, they moved through the city.

People looked at them for various reasons, Léon's height being the biggest one literally and figuratively. Paris was two large for them to walk through, it would have been to easy to get lost. Past the sounds of the few carriages they passed, the Seine River was audible. As much as such large rivers were lethal to them it was a great marker. Léon led them to it, standing on the sidewalk before the plunge they looked about. With the combined francs that Jean-Valjean had from the woman, and what Léon had from the murdered men they could afford a moderate place for several days...but after that...

For now they had no choice but to inn hop. Entering another along the river Jocelyn told them to keep to themselves and not interact with the patrons. Paying, they moved upstairs to their room with a great view of the river and two beds.

Thursday 11th, 1800-10:04 pm

"And we have to continue this process as long as we can.." Jocelyn informed them. "It's the safest thing we can do"

"Until we run out of money" Léon shook his head. Iris looked through the window, putting her nose and dainty hand up to the glass, looking out. She wanted to have fun and enjoy the parties...not be trapped from inn to inn.

Entering the room, the newborn crawled to the bed and laid down as he kept to himself. Pale eyes stared at Léon for a moment. He craved to be near the man again and just take in his scent, but knew he shouldn't get so attach. True, the city was large but the boy was sure of himself that he would find his way back to the tavern. He had too or he would need to look for some other way to make himself useful.

Sighing, he turned to the side and stared at the wall.

Alexandre

"Well Bella?"

"He was here. I suggest we break off and return to Father's inn. It is right there." she pointed to a inn that did not seem like anything that would belong to the older male.

"Good. No one feeds until we return or until we find the boy."

Jocelyn went to the empty bed and laid down. She kept quiet, keeping her face in her pillow. It helped block out Jean-Valjean's scent and people's curiosity if they wanted to check her emotional state. She wanted to be left alone but had no where to go for privacy.

Léon didn't know what to do. Everything was bleak. His eyes kept bouncing from Jean-Valjean and Jocelyn. Should he say something? Was he not doing enough? A building of anger swept through him.

Slowly, he walked over to the newborn and sat next to him on the bed.

"Are you alright? Do you need food? Rest?" He was looking for something to provide...he needed to feel some sense of ability when it all looked grim.

Jean-Valjean found some privacy under the covers. Still not enough to allow himself to break down fully. Unlike the woman, he couldn't just cry infront of others. In some sense he was still a man and that meant he couldn't simply become emotional when he wanted to be.

He'd truely have to wait until he was somewhere alone.

His thoughts returned to the basment at the estate. Now only postive as he thought about the lonelniess and all those chances he was allowed to cry with no eyes staring at him.

He actually missed that basmenet that he knew as prison.

"No..." his voice in the reply was small, soft and even with such a short answer-shakey. He was on that edge of crying but kept pushing it back was much as he could.

Now hiding his head under the pillow, Jean-Valjean welcomed the darkness as he tried to block everyone out.

It didn't take long for the boy to fall asleep, but it didn't last long as he kept waking up every twenty minutes. The young man finally rolled out of bed and looked to Léon, walking over he asked if he was allowed to go get fresh air.

Jean-Valjean needed sometime alone, hell even if it was just outside inn would do him some good. But he didn't want to worry Léon any further.

"I'll stay close. I promise... I'll even take her with me if you don't want me to be alone." the newborn said. He sounded tried and even looked like at any moment he would just fall face first onto the floor underneath their feet. The circles under his eyes had returned and they were much darker than they had been and unlike the rest of them did look like a walking corpse, it was irony at it's best.

A walking corpse looking like it should in its first days of rotting. Well, that was the only thing missing.

She was lively, dressed well, and looked like she could run the town.

Jean-Valjean looked like he just came out of the farm-lands with barely anything on besides the trousers and shirt he was given.

Iris was smiling at Jean-Valjean, she easily grabbed his attention. While Jean-Valjean continued to walk the man approached her and was flirting. The boy could hear her laughing and the man's suave speaking and walked out into a light rainfall.

A few minutes passed and Iris came out with a lovely umbrella given to her. Sauntering in her usual sensual way, she approached the newborn with a smirk. In her free hand she raised a small sac of francs and jingled it.

This couldn't be good.

It got worst when she showed him the sac of francs.

"How did you get that?" the newborn asked, clearly he felt like he had to protect the girl now and that meant he would actually think more clearly. Or at least try.

The young man was able to steal clothes and fixed himself up. With his height and how clean his face was, he looked like a school-boy. All he was missing was a apple and book. He cleaned up nicely and could easily fit into the society as a child from noble or just a school-boy.

He refused to do anymore to make himself look like he was part of the party. He wore high-knee socks, tan pants, buckle shoes, a black trench coat with a split down the mid-middle and a nice pale-blue dress shirt with all the buttons still on.

"You have an hour and then we return." he warned Iris.

"You are so adorable!" She smiled brightly, away from the mansion she seemed...happy...mentally stable..."Follow me!"

Friday January 12th, 1800-12:04 am

Still along the Seine River they were far deeper into Paris, and one of the larger estates, guarded with both men and wide berth gate, was still brightly lit. Iris pointed to the guarding men.

"Allow me" she continued to lead the two, but still make it look as if the Jean-Valjean was while her arm was around his.

When they got close enough the guards looked at them with caution. Iris smiled.

"You're rather late mademoiselle" He looked at Jean-Valjean "monsieur" he greeted rather flatly. It could be assumed his school boy charms were not going to work on him.

"Fashionably late?" Iris jested with a flirtatious smile and light laugh.

"Highly fashionable, mademoiselle" his cold face cracked a small, very small smile.

"Oh do let us in, my poor fiancé has been cursed with the face of a child and has fretted about it for most of the night. I just now convinced him to allow us to go. Please do not send me back home with his youthful grumpiness and face" The two guards accidentally started to laugh at the expense of Jean-Valjean, led by the exotic woman's charm.

While still laughing at Jean-Valjean they opened the gates and Iris led them down the stone path to the mansion.

The boy followed, in arm with Iris as they came to the guard. He wasn't looking forward to the party and would let her make up lie.

He stood silent. Even up to the point where she began the lie.

Iris only gave him a sheepish smile before servants opened the windowpane covered doors. Inside the candle light was warm, but it was not going to bother the two Vampires. There were long hallways on each side but in front of them were two large wooden doors which another set of servants opened for them.

Walking forward, they walked into a large ball room with at least four dozen guests. Live music was being played from stringed instrumentals on the right side, performing on a raised stage.

The party was a bal masqué, the dancers spinning and moving about wearing masks. Another set of servants gave them elaborate masks to wear. Iris just about squealed while working hers on.

The drunk he had stripped was rambling about his wife cheating on him. It didn't matter, he got everything he needed and now a sort of collar for Iris. It was hand made and something he would be able to tell who was who.

"Oh thank you!" She planted a deep kiss on Jean-Valjean's cheek, her lips womanly soft. At this point she easily ditched him and blurred into the mass, she found a dance partner in no time. This was the best night of her life.

Friday January 12th, 1800-12:24 am

Roughly twenty minutes passed and while Jean-Valjean had been left alone up till then a man walked by. The man looked at the newborn. He then turned to face the young man completely and walked up to him. Extending an arm the man spoke in a low tone.

"It would be in your best interest to come with me" he opened his mouth and Vampiric teeth quickly came forth and receded. Iris was still completely distracted alternating dance partners and having a blast with her beautiful, necklace and garments.

Taken out of the ballroom, the man was leading him down the right hallway he had seen when he first entered the mansion. Jean-Valjean was held in the female's position in their walking, his arms forced around the man's. The man was equal height to him and if Jean-Valjean looked behind the mask he could see the man had medium length brown hair.

"You must attract a lot of attention" they were alone in the long hallway, walking past windows to the outside gardens on their right, doors on their left. A door ended the hallway before them.

The boy shook, it was obvious when anyone saw him. His knees were buckling and he swore he had felt his heart thump a few times. He kept his eyes down, the mask hiding his fearful eyes. The young man simply nod as his free hand grabbed to his chest

"I-I don't have enough blood... I haven't feed." he explained as sly eyes looked up to the man "Please don't hurt me..." he whispered softly as he kept his eyes below the man's eyes.

They were nearing the door at the end of the hallway now. The man continued his controlled walk, helping Jean-Valjean continue on.

"I have no intention of harming you, newborn. Only bringing you to my master" He pushed opened the door and inside looked to be a decorative study with a large wooden desk in the middle and a grand fireplace burning in the back. The man guided Jean-Valjean to a marble bust of a dignified looking man on the desk and craned the head back.

A secret wall started to slide away and show a set of stairs. The man graciously waved his hand at the door, expecting the newborn to walk down first.

"Master?" The boy's finger nails dug into the man's sleeve, the title seemed to horrified the newborn. He shook more this time and began to play with his bottom lip, his Vampiric teeth sliding out without his consent as they were taken into a study.

As the wall moved the young man looked to the man, his teeth still out and now a drop of blood running down his chin as he pierced his bottom lip out of fear. Walking down the steps, the child often looked back and now moved slower as he felt ever step with before taking it.

Once on ground floor, the young man frowned, eyes still down and stomach turning.

They slowly walked down the spiral staircase. The stone walls were hardly over a person's width wide and tall. It was dark and cramped, the secret wall behind them closed. Jean-Valjean could hear their steps start to echo the lower and lower they went.

Minutes passed until they finally reached the hidden level and it smelled moist, old, stale... Around him was wide room lit with distant torches. Statues of nude men and women were beautifully crafted, some interacting with others, some posing by themselves. Water flowed around the bases of all the statues, a small waterfall sound. The daunting effect of the statues made them seem like they were staring directly at Jean-Valjean even if they were facing away.

Between the statues on each side of the walls lined with trickling waterfalls were large stone squares that composed of the floor, small amounts of water flowed between each square. Each step echoed as the room was rounded up top and at the back.

In the far back, across from the entrance where Jean-Valjean had come from was a throne made out of stone with two gargoyle statues sitting on top of the back. Standing beside the throne protectively was an Asian man (http://www.afranko.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/81288aaf3a84fbcbb88792835e528d421.jpg) smoking a large cigar. He clearly was a vampire, as seen with his gray and golden looking eyes. The throne itself however, was empty.

The man escorting Jean-Valjean pushed the newborn forward and the Asian man eyed him with suspicion, letting the cigar's smoke cloud his face. When the newborn was close enough, he lowered his cigar and inhaled deeply.

"The master isn't here" he told the escort curtly, blowing smoke in his face. The man remained still. "He's enjoying the party for once" his eyes went back to Jean-Valjean, he flipped his hair from his face before taking another deep inhale of his cigar. "What's your name?"

The escorting man began to leave, his footsteps echoed and became quieter as he worked his way up the spiral stairs.

As his eyes readjusted to the light and when he saw where he was, the boy felt amazed. It was like walking into a different world, somewhere that one could only hear about from men who explored the great world. His eyes fall last on the Asian, he didn't want to move forward but he was pushed to go. Walking towards the man the newborn avoided eye contact still.

The child watched as his escort suddenly leave, pale blue eyes stuck to the man for a minute before turning back to the exotic one before him.

"Jean-Valjean... why have I been brought here?"

"Because you smell nice. I'd bet you also taste just so as well" He flicked his ashes into a trickle of water between the stones, it carried them off. "That spawn was smart enough to bring you here, newborn" he waited to speak, looking at Jean-Valjean up and down. "Odd for a master to leave someone like you...unattended"

The man was strange, Jean-Valjean thought so as he studied him more. He had never met anyone with such slit eyes or figure. He was silent for a moment longer before speaking up when he heard the comment.

"Apparently...I've been told that." He stated. Taking a few steps back Jean-Valjean tried putting on a strong face "...I... me and erm...sister, sneaked out for the night. Our master does not know we're gone.." he lied as he kept space between them.

"Please, I need to return, I have to watch for my sister." The boy didn't know what to do now. It was strange to be near this man, he could feel the power coming off the man.

Biting his bottom lip again, blood started to drip again and Jean-Valjean quickly kept it from falling. His blood now covering his hands.

The man walked closer to Jean-Valjean, a forearm's length apart and inhaled deeply again, closing his eyes and exhaling smoke slowly.

"You've been around a werewolf?" Anger crossed his face. His gray and gold eyes looked deep into Jean-Valjean's blue and suddenly the newborn felt compelled to grant whatever wish the Vampire had. "Tell me, who was it and how did you meet?"

When the man moved closer, Jean's leg took a step back but for most part he stood in the same place. He kept his eyes on the man and then his body relax even though anger struck the foreign male.

Upon the command he answered. "Genevieve. I was at the tavern and she approached me to off me a position as a servant...to give a pint to her husband every so often." He stated as his shoulders slumped. Suddenly he didn't mind having the man so close and his body was more loose than it had been.

The mysterious man bit his lower lip in frustration as Jean-Valjean revealed the details.

"Genevieve, the were-bitch!" he grunted and took a hit of his cigar, blowing it to the side. "Seems like you're connected already my well scented friend." The Amor pack was a thorn in his master's side. Part of the greater invisible war for domination of Paris, and by extension, France. This of course was excluding smaller Vampire covens and Were clans trying to fuck with them.

Still held under the spell, the mysterious man questioned on.

"When and when are you going to be seeing your little were-bitch friend? Mmmm?" His face was held close to the newborn, only inches apart.

The elder Vampire studied the tired newborn. He was going to hurt the Amor pack where it hurts.

"Tomorrow, you're going to see Genevieve, you are going to take her offer..." he smirked. "And before you feed her husband for the first time...you're going to come back here and tell me everything you know" The spell commanded. He blew another puff of smoke into the air. "For now, forget you ever met me, ever been down here..." he smirked and kissed the newborn on the back of the cheek, near the ear. "Go upstairs and enjoy the party"

His master was going to be very pleased.

Jean-Valjean suddenly found himself in the hallway outside the ballroom. His last memory was of him up against the wall waiting for the hour to pass to take Iris back to the inn down the road. He felt tired, his hand had blood on it, his lower lip had a cut, and he felt a burning need to accept the offer Genevieve gave, no matter the cost, and have a little fun in the ballroom. Maybe he wanted to dance with Iris? Be wild and dance with a masked stranger?

The young man started back into the ballroom, still tried but wanting to dance before he left. Before that, he cleaned his hands and bottom lip and returned to the ballroom.

Getting into the party, he started to dance with strangers. Actually enjoying it as thoughts and problems were shoved to the back of his mind.

After being guided to the washroom by slaves, Jean-Valjean was able to clean his lip and hand.

Back in the ballroom he was having a fun, but awkward time as he had to try to pick up the dances, as well as fight his newborn exhaustion. This led him being passed on from dance partner to dance partner rather quickly as the spins and twirls went on.

Eventually he was with Iris, as he could tell by her necklace and piercing brown eyes. She was drunk off life, laughing and even hugged him.

"Jean-Valjean!" she was beaming as he spun her. "Are you finally having fun?" She was positively radiant in her beauty and happiness. She felt more pure.

We have to return for sun up." he grinned as he passed off Iris and looked around the clocks. Seeing it was close, he looked back to Iris and by some miracle was able to return to her and take her hand.

"Though this has been fun, we really do need to leave. Leon will be angry." he stated as he pulled Iris out "If you promise to come, then you can keep the necklace. I was going to sell it." he stated as he kept the mask on and pulled Iris out, his bottom lip was slightly swollen from the cut but other than that, he looked like.

Dancing with Iris, it was surprising she had a better grasp of the moves even if she was just as new to it as he was. She showed her displeasure in a frown when she was warned about the sun. She twirled off and another man accepted her gladly.

When they met up again on the dance floor she smirked.

"Wanted more?" she jested, but that smirk dropped when told about the potential anger of her master. She sighed and let the newborn pull her away. Walking by, she gave her mask to a servant and held on the necklace defensively, wanting desperately to keep it.

Walking back up the Seine river that cut through the middle of the city, they returned back to the inn they were at for the night.

Making his way to the other bed, Jean-Valjean hid under the covers quickly, he did not want to hear that word again. Specifically if Leon was to say it.

Iris only laughed with her lady charms as she was taken back. She hoped she would never forget this night.

When they entered the room, Jocelyn was still laying on one bed with a heavy aura of depression and gloom around her. Léon was gone.

"Where were you!?" Jocelyn sat up on her bed and looked at Iris and the blob of sheets that was Jean-Valjean. "Léon has been looking for you all night!" she was infuriated at their irresponsibility. After everything that happened, after she sacrificed her HOME for this newborn, he just goes out into the city doing who knows what!

Iris' witty humor seemed to have instantly died under Jocelyn's inspection and remained silent. Her eyes looked about the room uncomfortably, a hand rubbed across the jewels. Jocelyn noticed the necklace but was too angry to even ask about that. Right now there were other things to focus on, and she better get some damn answers!

Sighing he spoke up, he would take the blame and let Iris get away with it "We went exploring. Lost track of time." he replied. His stomach sunk and he hid himself.

He just wanted this night to be over and wanted to return to the tavern. Maybe she'd leave him alone then.

Jocelyn was still in tears and furious. She ran a hand through her hair as she got Jean-Valjeans half-ass answer. It made everything she did feel insignificant. Jean-Valjean was selfish, she looked to Iris, but he wasn't the only one. Iris visibly flinched when she was looked at again.

The newborn walked out of the room and Jocelyn glared at Iris.

"Protect him!" while the woman wasn't her master, Iris took the safe bet and left the room. Jocelyn sighed and rolled back onto her bed, looking at the curtain covered window, listening to the light rainfall past her snuffling.

Iris caught up with Jean-Valjean and put her arms around his, a lady couldn't be alone at this time of night.

"I can smell him" Iris whispered to Jean-Valjean, sneaking her words past the innkeeper who was looking at her smitten. She gave him a quick smile before they stepped outside.

Focused on the smell and with her hand not holding the umbrella pointed right, the opposite direction of where the party was. He must have been following the path they went to steal clothes. His scent was weak thanks to the rainfall. The umbrella gave small sounds as it shielded the two and they walked to a cul-de-sac of shops, here was where the drunk that was hiding under one of the roofs from the rainfall. Still in his undergarments after having his clothes taken by Jean-Valjean and passed out. At least he was dry.

Léon was on his knees, sitting on his feet, looking at the buildings. The rain had soaked him, again, hair matted down, clothes sopped. Iris raised her free hand to her lips in shock.

It didn't take long and once they found Léon, the young man rushed to his side, not caring about what happened to his clothes as he tried to help the man up.

Léon was broken. He failed Jocelyn, he failed Iris and he failed Jean-Valjean. He couldn't find them, Paris swallowed them.

What had happened? Jean-Valjean promised they were only going to be a few minutes...they were hurt and it must have been his fault. All he could do was get the scent to this random drunk man he couldn't wake in the early morning. He had walked everywhere, but it just kept leading back to the drunk. There came a point where he just had to crash to his knees. After everything and they were...gone.

He sat there for a time he didn't know...he just didn't care. He couldn't function.

'Léon!'

He heard the voice and suddenly saw a rather well dressed Jean-Valjean. He looked up to the boy confused.

"Y-you're not hurt!?" he looked at him shocked and confused, eyes puffy from his tearing breakdown. He smelled Iris and looked over his shoulder to see her too. She looked perfectly fine under an umbrella. He turned his vision back to Jean-Valjean "I'm so sorry, I was should have went outside with you! I just wanted to give you space..." his heart was so relived that he cried again. "I thought I lost you two!"

Jean-Valjean frowned as he hugged Léon tightly, he didn't want to let go of the man "I'm sorry! I ... its all my fault... everything is my fault. Iris looked sad so I suggested we take a walk... I lost track of the time... I'm so sorry Léon." the boy frowned as he just held his savior. The boy nuzzled into the man's neck and he rubbed his back "I'm so sorry Léon... lets get you back to the inn. Dry... I'll find something for you to eat." he whispered as he pulled back and looked into Léon's eyes.

Helping the older vampire back to the inn, the young man kept his process. He helped strip his savior of his wet clothes, laid him down in the extra bed and left once again, this time telling Iris to stay.

When he returned, the young man sighed as he walked to Léon and removed shirt, tail-coat, and socks "Drink. I just fed... I didn't kill her but when she wakes up she'll think she went with someone a bit too rough. She won't remember me." the boy stated as he offered his neck to the man. It didn't seem like he would let the man take "no" for an answer as he said that if he had too, he'd cut his wrist for him.

Léon didn't fight the hold, but his eyes wouldn't stop leaking. This time it was tears of joy.

"You're safe...you're safe" he had to say it out loud to confirm it, the boy holding him, rubbing his back just wasn't enough to confirm the truth.

When their eyes met, Jean-Valjean saw the joy and the fear in the man's soul. He did truly care for all of them. Léon did his best to contain himself and stood to walk on his own. He didn't want to depend on the newborn or Iris.

Back inside he was laid on the bed and his dripping clothes were taken off him spare the undergarments. Hair sprinkled his chest and lightly went down in a happy trail formation. He was soaking wet, but the cold didn't make him shiver. Léon was just a bit spaced out. Jocelyn had rolled over to look at him, and he turned his head to look at her.

They shared a look before the both of them sighed at the same time.

Iris was about to leave with Jean-Valjean to ensure his safety as requested, but the boy was resistant. Still having to follow her master's orders, she followed at a distance and sneaked in the room before Jean-Valjean could realize she left.

Friday January 12th, 1800-2:25 am

Léon slowly looked over to Jean-Valjean. How was a newborn learning so fast? He looked down at the woman and reluctantly fed but knew when to stop to not kill her. He pulled back and retracted his teeth, not a drop wasted on his lips.

She made sure to lock the door, check that all the curtains were closed, put her necklace on the end table, disrobed and got into bed with Jocelyn. She was careful to keep to one side of the bed, not wanting to bother her. Jocelyn looked over her shoulder at the younger vampire.

"You sleep on the floor" her patience with her was through for tonight. Iris awkwardly got out of the bed and laid down on the wooden floor next to it.

Léon was so exhausted that he was already passed out by the time Jean-Valjean got into the bed. His body was too tired to even move. There was a large wet spot all around him, getting too close was uncomfortable to sleep in.

That night, Jean-Valjean had ended up cuddling up to Léon's body. He was sound asleep and wouldn't wake up for awhile longer. His arms were pressed to his chest and head pressed against Léon's back. The young man took in a deep breath and smiled in his sleep as he nuzzled against the man, his shoulders rolling a little as he just kept sleeping. That was until it kicked in.

Waking up, Jean-Valjean grumbled softly and touched the first thing that was in front of him, which was Léon.

"Mmm...I ... I have to go... deal..." he muttered softly as he rubbed the body in front of him without much of a thought.

Sitting up, the boy rubbed his eyes and jumped slightly seeing how close he was to Léon. Shaking it off he crawled out of bed and redress, the scent of the man was still on him but lucky for the Asian, his enemy had only one thing on her mind which was to take the boy as a servant.

Lucky for him, the woman had smelled him on her way to the tavern and now was now in the Inn waiting to see if the boy was even making his way to meet her.

Iris was struggling playing baby-sitter: having to sooth the both of them. But her attempts with Jocelyn failed as the elder Vampire did not want to speak to her and the best she could do for her master was make sure he wore some of his spare clothes to keep himself dry.

Out of all of them, Léon looked the most underdressed wearing only thing cloth garments. But it would do.

"Why are you being payed so much as a servant? Why did you tell her about what we are...?" Her tone was patronizing, this boy seemed to do stupid thing after stupid thing. Once Jocelyn brought up the points, Léon didn't argue, but did keep his eyes on Jean-Valjean hoping to get the truth.

Smiling softly, Jean-Valjean hugged Leon quickly before pulling back. Looking at them the boy gasped softly "Oh and I almost forgot. She also said she would pay for a blood bar. That way you can all feed as well."

The carriage did come and soon they were taken to a nice house. It wasn't large like their last home but did have five bedrooms, two bathes, a basement, and three coffins in each room. The home was brand new and they would be the first to live in it.

The home was beside four other homes, on it left was the view of the shops and stores. It was surrounded by other homes as well as trees that had started to loose their leafs.

The young man stared out at the window, amazed by the sight, it was a medium home but still quite lovely.

The two eldest Vampires still didn't look confident...Léon carried Jocelyn to the carriage, holding her during the ride and stroking her hair affectionately. His eyes went from Jean-Valjean to her as he thought about what was happening.

When the carriage stopped, Léon carried Jocelyn out and Iris looked at the home with a bit of awe. It was not the rundown place it was before. Jocelyn didn't seem to be appreciating it, her face buried in his neck.

Standing before the home, Léon looked to Jean-Valjean.

"Who is this woman?"

"Genevieve ... wow..." the boy was sudden but rushed up the steps and opened the door for the rest of the group. Once inside they would see new curtains, rug, painted pictures, all new furniture from lush couch to newly carved tables. Each room was equipment with a coffin that would be easily hidden in the large closets.

On short everything was just for them.

"So... what do you think Léon?" the boy asked, excited to hear what the older man thought.

Léon walked slowly to make sure he didn't upset Jocelyn in his arms. Iris had entered first and began looking around from room to room delighted. He himself was speechless and Jocelyn was quiet, tired from her emotional shocks as of late.

"It is beautiful...Jean-Valjean..." Léon looked up and about, holding onto Jocelyn tight. "We are going to be alright Jocelyn..." he wispered to her kindly, the newborn's new senses could hear clearly. Léon was putting a lot of faith in the newborn and this mysterious Genevieve benefactor.

Why was there a dog in here? No... it was coming from somewhere else. The boy perked up and looked around, he could hear a dog now as though if it was right in the home. The young man caught what Léon said and couldn't help but smile to himself. He stood quite for most of the time and actually went into another bed room.

He sighed softly, it was sad but he couldn't stay with them for the first month. He'd have to report to the manor and be caught up on everything they did and how they did it.

Tonight would be the last night he could sleep with them until the the 31st rolled around. But at least he could always see them now and again.

And afterwards he would be able to come visit every night if he got his job done.

"Excuse me. I do not mean to rush but I am wondering what time you are planning to attend the bar. I just need to know if I feed the horse now or later." the driver asked as he stepped in up to the steps. This was their home now and like any vampire, the driver couldn't simply step in. Well he could, but he didn't want to be rude.

Léon was caught by surprise when the Vampire spoke to him, especially in such a way. While he had a spawn...he never had her treat him like this.

"Mmmm" He had to think, trying to center himself from all the excitement. "At ten if possible..." he had no idea what this bar was supposed to be...but he hoped it would work.

Iris walked up to the sad sighing Jean-Valjean.

"You should be careful" she warned, almost out of character for her "Everyone wants your blood...I've wanted a taste myself"

The young man looked back and chuckled softly "I know... my master told me the first time he feed of me..." the boy grew silent and took a seat on the bed "And you have... I doubt you remember... you and her had been starving and I gave as much blood as I could to both of you."

**

Iris walked up and sat on his lap, legs open on each side of the newborn's hips. Teasing, she poked his nose and laughed, her dress and drape falling over Jean-Valjean.

"Shame I do not recall. I would have enjoyed it" she jokingly flirted.

"I had to almost punch you in the nose make you let go." he stated as he bucked her off of him and onto the bed. Standing up the boy looked over to Iris "Can you keep a promise? Can you make sure Léon will rest when I'm gone?"

"Ahh my master..." she waved a finger at the newborn. "You desire him, I see it your eyes and in the way you touch him" the Vampire laughed again.

"And I still don't forgive you for what you said last night!" he muttered under his breath as he started out of the room and down the steps. She got to him.

Friday January 12th, 1800-9:00 pm

The young man was down in the basement. This was the only place that hadn't been touched and now only candles were a source light. Looking around he thought about his the old place. This was much more secure and now he could tell what rotting wood smelt like when he compared the scents from this home to the other home.

Following scent he walked down into the basement to Jean-Valjean. He wasn't entirely sure of everything that was happening, but he was going to do his best to get used to the changes.

Jean-Valjean touched the walls. They were smooth and underneath his shoes he could hear the stone. Looking down memories flashed before his eyes. He felt his tongue as well as his stomach as he could feel the kick to the gut. Maybe it wasn't the best that he was down there alone.

Perking up once he heard Léon, the young man turned and smiled "Léon. Oh, well I'm just exploring the house... it looks good! I'm sure you all will be happy here." the boy smiled as he was careful to set the candle down on a small table that was there. There seemed to be holders for torches and even a small dolly to bring down things. "I'm okay." he suddenly said as he rubbed his neck. Iris' voice still ringing in his ear.

Clearly he was trying hard to keep from crying as well as to keep that smile on his face.

The candle light danced and the dimly lit room was silent for a moment. No breaths, no talking, nothing. Somehow the silence sounded louder than them talking when they did.

It is a easy way to bed fed and to be entertain." he stated as he looked to the vampire.

It did not take too long. And soon they were there. Outside look like any other tavern expect that there was a man outside who was asking those who came for a password or who had sent them. The driver opened the carriage door and talked to the older vampire. The man looked over the others and nod as he opened it.

"They are expecting you." he said.

When they they entered they would be greeted by a perky blond human girl who was in traditional white dress that came down to the floor. With a bright smile she asked if they were sent by Amor, it did seem like they had been expecting them.

With grace she lead the group to a comfortable sitting area with lush, large velvet pillows. All around them were other vampires, some feeding in public and others behind curtains. The woman looked to them and giggled.

"Good evening. Would any of you car for a cigar? Maybe food before you feed? If not we have a selection already set up for you all and I shall call them in. All of this is paid for and if you like, we could also give you private rooms to feed. We only ask you to stop feeding before their death, and if you need more blood we will happily give you another human." she stated. Men and women, all human, were walking around with dazed and happy looks. They were dancing or just walking around. Some offered their wrist, others necks, and even to bleed into some white wine.

This was a high end feeding ground where everything was allowed expect a human's death.

"No...thank you..." Jocelyn was dazed, declining the cigar, just barely finding the will to speak.

"I would like a private room" Iris was always the first one to hop on the waves of change. She leaned closer to the woman in white. "Can we suck other things other than their blood?" a discreet whisper and a smirk.

The two children would be introduce to a line of humans. The man were tunics well the women wore robes. They had all "flavors" from African to Spanish and even English. Each smiled tenderly and said what they could offer as well as the entertainment they could do.

Jean-Valjean picked out a woman and shyly went with her to a private room which was just curtains. He drank from her and she would pat his arm when she needed a rest. "Maybe we should drink from a glass?" Jocelyn suggested, she didn't want to drink in front of others. Léon nodded. He raised a hand, trying to get anyone's attention.

"Here you two go. And if you need help just look for anyone in a white tunic or robe. Would you like something to eat with your blood? Or maybe a booth to rest?" she asked. This looked normal to the young woman and she wasn't at all scared of them. Actually, no human was.

The boy stood his distances and soon got a few people coming to him. Even with all the blood around them, he seemed to be popular. Jean-Valjean came out from the room and looked down the hall. It was dark and he could barely see anything. His eyes adjusting.

Going down the hall, the boy stopped smelling something and then hearing muffled cries. He knocked on a door and waited until he heard foot steps. It took a moment but looking down he saw a child. No older than seven-years-old and the scent was powerful. She was just turned, maybe not that night but she was.

The boy stood sudden, did they really turn children? He had a hard time now with the way he looked but this was a child who would always be stuck in pigtails. It just made his stomach sink. A moment pass and the girl closed the door.

Léon nodded to the man and grabbed the bottle. Pouring, the two watched as blood truly came from the bottle.

"Unbelivable" Léon had to admit before having Jocelyn drink till she was full.

Now the two of them were finished, they held hands to help fight the nerves. Walking around, Léon looked for Jean-Valjean...he followed the scent outside.

Where was Iris?

The boy was sitting in the alley, his eyes closed and he rocked his leg. Something about that just made his stomach curl. The boy tried to relax himself before standing up and leaving the alley way. He ran his fingers through his hair and took in a deep breath.

Caught a whiff of the older vampires, the young man turn to them "Hello."

Outside, the two of them were relived to be free. Walking up to Jean-Valjean, Léon gave a small toothless smile...Jocelyn avoided eye contact with him.

"That was...I do not know what to say" Léon jested. "Who knew Vampires could have bottled blood?"

"They had bottled blood?" Jean-Valjean asked, his voice full of disappointment that he didn't know about this. It would have been better than having to drink from the woman. She wouldn't stop moaning...

The young man looked up to Léon and smiled slightly "We should return soon... so all of you can get settled in." he stated. Looking back to the door, Jean frowned a little "Should I look for Iris?"

Léon nodded.

"I will stay out here with Jocelyn...we do not enjoy it in there that much. We might just need more time" Jocelyn stepped closer to Léon, hands held each other tightly.

The boy sighed softly and nod as he started into the bar. He didn't quite like it either, it was just a easier way to get blood. But then again, it was quite ... awkward.

Going in, Jean-Valjean looked around until he asked the blonde if she had seen Iris. When the prative "room" was pointed out the young man sighed as he waited outside of it. "Iris, we are leaving."

From outside Jean-Valjean could hear her moaning and whimpering while two men were grunting. The obvious repeating collision of bodies could be heard. It sounded like she was being brutally attacked...

It was unlikely she heard the newborn.
