So this is my first character that I would like to introduce to the Battle Arena Forum and everyone needs a good antagonist. More will be posted when they are written, and the newer ones will be a variety of genre's.

General Information:
Name: Eumelos the Wanderer, Son of Polyphemus
Age: Young Adult (How long Cyclops' live is for another forum)
Gender: Male
Race: Cyclops

Appearance:

Build: 9”3” tall, muscular body shape. Signs of rugged hard living are obvious on his body but he is kept health and strong by regular encounters with the fury of the natural world.

Hair: Wispy brown hair tied back in a ponytail. Excessive amounts of body hair of the same colouration. Usually badly kept and filthy.

Eye: A single dark green eye sunken into the centre of his forehead. The eye is a perfect circle rather than the more usual eye shape.

Distinctive Features:
Mediterranean tanned skin colour. Large single, circular eye. Tough gnarled skin with multiple scars lining the body.

Clothes / Armour:

Clothes: Eumelos wears a coarse woollen set of brown trousers and an ill-fitting linen grey tunic. Both look hand made by Eumelos and have been repaired and upgraded innumerable times. He also has a sheepskin cloak that looks just as well worn and obviously required more than a few sheep to make and repair. Sandals are the usual foot-wear of choice, but in colder climates he changes into fur boots to stay warm.

Armour: Tanned leather breastplate of crude construction. It appears functional with very few decorations. Life on the road has worn and caused cracks in the edge of the armour.

Fighting Style:

Primary Weapon: Spear. This two handed olive-wood is easily the size of a small tree and its steel spearhead is designed to pierce armour and bones alike. Its construction shows a great deal of care and dedication and it has been smoothed and bound to ensure that Eumelos can get a good grip no matter the conditions. Eumelos focuses on using his spear as both a defensive and offensive weapon with thrusts being used to damage opponents and drive them away. Offensively Eumelos will focus on using the spear to attack the enemy with single devastating blows rather than showy attacks. Defensively Eumelos will use the main part of the spear to deflect attacks and to push opponents away.

Secondary Weapon: Rock throwing. “Rock” throwing involves Eumelos finding a suitably large object, usually a rock but it could be a car or other similar sized objects, and throwing them at the opponent. The accuracy of this attack leaves much to be desired. Rarely used on opponents who are quick and dexterous due to low chance of success. Wounded or slowed characters are the most likely targets.

Tertiary Weapon: Fists. When bereft of his trusty spear Eumelos is a capable combatant with his beefy fists. While untrained in this style of combat, Eumelos understands that when he manages to connect with his fists, bones of people smaller than him tend to break and he focuses on getting the single “killer” blow to the opponents head or torso. The fighting style is up-close-and-personal and is designed to take advantage of his natural strength.

Abilities:

Rock Throwing: Eumelos is more than capable of picking up very large rocks and throwing them in the general direction of the opponent. While accuracy is poor the size and weight of the rock means that tremendous damage is done if successfully connected. A minimum time frame for this ability is three posts. Post one involves picking up the boulder and raising it above his head. Post two involves the effort of throwing the rock (this also includes boulder travelling time between recipient and deliverer). Post three is the “landing phase” where the sizeable boulder will land on (or near) the target. It is also possible that in landscapes that are bereft suitable boulders it will take an extra post to find a suitable object to throw. Obviously Eumelos cannot use the rock throwing ability and do anything else, Offensive or Defensively, because he is busy using both his hands to throw a rock (or rock sized item).

Gnarled Skin: Innately Cyclops' are tough beasts and their leathery hide is thicker than creatures of smaller size. Attacks and weapons that would easily pass through a humans skin find slightly more resistance on Eumelos' skin and some smaller weapons may fail to affect him at all (I'm looking at you slings and rapiers). This ability on affects patches of skin on Eumelos (obviously!). N.B. This ability does not function against creatures of the same size as Eumelos

Attributes:

Increased Reach: Due to his size and spear, Eumelos is capable of hitting smaller foes long before they can come in contact with him. Suitably dexterous character's or those who have a method of distracting Eumelos can overcome this with ease.

Prodigious Strength: Eumelos has the blood of Cyclops' running through his veins and has had plenty of time to build up his muscles. This implication of this level of strength are rather obvious, and he is more than capable of picking up very heavy objects or doing some tremendous amounts of damage to people. Just as a note, strength isn't everything in a fight, but it helps.

Easily Tricked: Much like his father Eumelos has trouble distinguishing feints from actions. While not an stupid creature he tends not to think through the combats he is engaging in too deeply.

One Eye: The usual weakness of Cyclops' are the single eye. If that eye is damaged or “taken out of action” Eumelos will struggle to interact and react to battlefield conditions.

Biography:

Personality:

Eumelos is a solitary individual who's short-temper regularly gets the better of him. He is sullen and grumpy towards those around him. His self-sufficient lifestyle has lead to many great journeys and several interesting stories to those who are willing to sit with him and chat. Obviously conversation is difficult due to reclusive nature, and alcohol is a sure way to get to his heart. Eumelos is an angry drunk.

Eumelos is not unintelligent, as is regularly assumed of cyclops', but has no formal education

Background:

Growing up on the island called “The land of the Cyclopes”, Eumelos lived a happy but simple life with his father Polyphemus as a shepherd.

The land of the Cyclopes was a rough land and had “no assemblies fr the making of laws, nor any established legal codes, but lived in hollow caverns in the mountain heights, where each man is lawgiver to his own children and women, and nobody has the slightest interst in what his neighbours decided.”

That all changed when Odyessus attacked. Eumelos was away wandering the hills at the time but came back to find his father blinded and scream bloody vengeance against a man named Odyessus to his father Poseidon. Not wanting to be seen like this and in a fit of anger Polyphemus banished Eumelos.

And so Eumelos started travelling the lands of the world. Meeting many interesting people and being shunned and run out of town by all of them. As a result a self-sufficient lifestyle was adopted along with the occasional theft of vital supplies.

His rough life has driven him to become a mean person and can generally be found in any landscape either stealing sheep or fighting off other large mythological creatures (Giants, Oni, etc.)

Eumelos is also available in fantasy settings as a monster to fight.
