Knew i forgot something! Rated [M] For violence, blood, swearing, and possible sexual references.
Over 40,000 years after the Great Cataclysm, nearly 90,000 years from 2010, mankind and other races have found themselves expanding from their own territories and, just as corporations had on their home planets, joining together to turn a greater profit. Eventually a new galactic empire was created out of many races and, although fighting various wars, expanded and developed into the dominating force of the galaxy.
Enter the pirates, plundering the supply convoys and merchant vessels traveling the galaxy, taking back whatever the unjust imperium exploited from the denizens of the mining worlds, plus whatever else they come upon. But not all pirates are simply motivated by treasure and their lust for battle, legend tells of a secret family who guards the galaxy from a recurrence of the shadowy events of the Great Cataclysm. This family turned to piracy because, unlike an official position among some other government, it allowed them to strike wherever need be and remain largely unnoticed by any singular group. However, the imperium would seek to extinguish all piracy, especially the organized and well executed kind practiced by the family.
But what role do you play in all this? You are a ‘volunteer’ colonist aboard the imperium ship INS Triton, a medium sized colony vessel headed for a new and reportedly very hostile planet Tyran. Amongst the 3,000 passengers 4 of you will be chosen, for what you do not know, but you are on the way to the captain’s office to find out. So, who are you?

Most ships have some type of physical armor incorporated into their hull that protects them from impacts of all sorts.
Armor toughness varies throughout the ship and some places, like cargo bays, weapons platforms, and communications arrays will have more armor than other parts like hallways.
Armor can be penetrated by lasers, high-velocity and armor-piercing weapons, and melter weapons depending on toughness.
Nearly all ships have an energy based shield that generally envelops the entire ship.
Shields can reside anywhere from just above the surface of the ship’s armor to a few meters in any direction.
Shields are made to counteract lasers, melters, and most other energy based weapons and have little to no effect on physical projectiles unless concentrated.
Shields may be concentrated in 2-3 areas around the ship to offer more protection against energy and physical weapons and debris; however, this leaves the area opposite the concentrated one with weaker or even no shields.
Lastly, shields are invisible unless being hit by particles in significant amounts, be it concentrated photons, bullets, meteorites, or even interstellar gasses.
Conventional propulsion ranges from ion drives to magnetic field manipulation.
When distances are too great to traverse via conventional means it is possible for ships to travel into and through the next dimension where time flows much faster.
The result of this so called ‘warp’ travel is that the ship travels through time in the next dimension while remaining linked to this dimension and therefore covers distance much faster, journeys that would take years in this dimension take seconds or hours in the next.
Combat in this age is primarily ranged, though ship boarding actions tend to be closer and therefore knives and similar small close-combat weapons are carried by nearly everyone as well as a ranged weapon.
Some individuals carry more pronounced melee weapons such as swords and usually fight in specialized groups or head up a squad.
Most of our combat will be done in stations, ships, or other enclosed locations so just be aware that cover is usually going to be hallway corners and broken sections of wall.
Be logical about combat, most things are going to have a purpose (even though some things I tell you to do might not seem like they do) and if you get confused just ask here before posting and I’ll try to keep track of details so I can tell you if you’ve slipped up (nicely of course)
Weapons come in all shapes, sizes, and weights imaginable with just as many different power sources and ammunitions, so they are classified into different categories.
Ranging from large scale ship-mounted versions to smaller pistol sized ones these weapons generate and focus light of a specific wavelength and direct it in beams towards a target, causing it to heat up and, in ground-based artillery sized versions and larger, to actually knock the target back.
Melters come in both artillery style versions and rifle sized ones and generally run on canisters of condense material. This material reacts on contact with the muzzle of the weapon and can be projected in an almost perfectly straight line or ‘lance’ that, as the name suggests, punctures and melts through armor and other material. These types of weapons are more likely to malfunction and fail catastrophically than others and so are not mounted on spacecraft. The canisters and muzzles of these weapons must be changed much like ammunition clips.
Ranging from large artillery weapons mounted on ships to pistols these weapons fire bullets, shells, and pretty much anything that can be propelled through a barrel. Ammunition must be restocked and carried with the gun.
Self-propelled explosives usually fired from a tube and ranging from shoulder-launched types to larger and more powerful spacecraft mounted ones. Medium to large versions usually have an on-board navigator or targeting system to make it more accurate.
These weapons range from heavy infantry versions to artillery style versions and work by heating gasses until they become plasma and magnetically directing them down a barrel and on a trajectory at significant speed. On contact with a solid substance the plasma ball explodes and burns the area of impact, effectively melting or incinerating most materials. At the cost of this amazing power these weapons are highly likely to backfire and injure the users. Gasses must be supplied artificially in canisters.
These weapons come in artillery sized variants and larger and useelectrified rails to accelerate conductive projectiles to extremely high velocities. Damage is defined by the mass and shape of the projectile as well as its velocity. Many variants of this weapon exist to fire various projectiles, anything from balls to bullets, and even discs.
The Verdict was an imperial dreadnought class battleship until it was stolen, then it became pirate capital ship, and then it disappeared completely. Several months ago it was spotted near Tyran for a few seconds before warping out of the sector.

Crew: 2000 (mostly) loyal crew and 20 extremely loyal officers.
Cargo Capacity: enough space to hold the equivalent of a small freighter.
Armament:
16 laser batteries
5 artillery batteries
4 8-tube missile racks (32 missile tubes)
4 3-tube missile racks (12 missile tubes)
4 pod launchers
2 massive railguns
All RPA rules apply. For the rebels out there look at this [X] (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=4)
Although this is a mature RP I would like any sexual content to be taken to PM thanks…
All laws of physics apply, break them and I’ll be sure to tell you.
Swearing is allowed, but keep it low.
Use the OOC to work out post detail problems and ask questions, we’re all friends here.
Above all have fun!
First off anything other than human will require a detailed description so we know your character like you do.
Name: (As creative as you want)
Age: (be reasonable, i'm setting the age limit at a minimum of 21 or equivalent)
Species: (what are you?)
Appearance: (Picture or description. use hide tags if the picture is too big and be specific.)
Personality: (you're sure you act like this all the time?)
History: (have you done anything, really?)
Extra: (anything else you want us to know?)

Don't be fooled by the spoilers, there's a sh!t load of stuff you're missing if you don't click them xD
Anyway, looking for 4, count it off on your fingers: F-O-U-R, players that are not all jar-heads. Get your spaces while they're hot and don't forget to create your profiles as if you've been picked to go to Tyran as a colonist.
Me profile:
Name: Krath Xysi
Age: 36
Species: Hadari
Appearance:
Height: 7’ 2”
Weight: 210 lbs.
Body Type: Athletic, but heavily built.
Eyes: Completely golden metallic orbs without visible pupils that seem to always b staring in your direction.
Scales: Jet black with a hint of crimson around the edges, brightened to dark gray in a streak down the center of his chest.
Hair: none
Clothes: Greatcoat (like this (http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m2360193_Commissar7.jpg)) over a black shirt and pants that reach just above his ankles. He also wears a red cloth sash that hangs down his right side and black leather fingerless gloves with holes at his knuckles.
Personality: Quirky, eccentric, but with an ironically humorous side and a penchant for joking from time to time.
History: You don’t need to know his history, it’s part of the game. All will be revealed in good time.
Extra: Krath has six raised interface ports on his back that poke through his clothes via locking metal rings. The ports allow him to plug into and control various ship systems from the bridge, effectively eliminating 25% of crew error.
Hadari are a reptilian race not dissimilar from humans except for their scales and digitigrade (walking on their toes, like a T-Rex) nature. Thy have no tails and are often very strong. They have no hair and instead of normal eyes have monochrome orbs that pick up more than ‘normal’ eyes do. Eye and scale color as well as pattern for the latter vary greatly, but there are nearly always two colors in a single scale and eyes tend to be a more metallic color.
