Chapter 1: Aftermath

The Brotherhood had sent their finest members to venture outside the walls, young and skilled warriors are carrying the burden and hope of the whole world. Alex, Lisa, Natalia, Demetric, Tyler, Micah, Teegan and Lindsey were the ones who were sent outside the walls.

The huge metal door of the wall ascends to reveal them the harsh and wild lands of Earth. Their master, Andreus gives his final words to them before they depart. "Young warriors, the hope of the world rests on you. I fear some of you mighy not live to see another day, if that happens, avenge their death and make sure their death is not in vain. If you come across any survivors, save their souls and you might have another teamate to fight along your side, and finally be careful my students,"

Now, the mission begins..

Lisa looks around as she and the others finally step outside the walls. "Look at all this, Alex." She says turning to her longtime friend. "It's beautiful in its own twisted way. I can wait to see it all. Reapers or no reapers." She sighs. "I wish I could fix the land as I can with injuries." She absentmindedly scratched Kane's, her oversized wolf, ears.

Alex remained silent as looks outside the walls, he wish that he can find his killers here. He turned to Lisa, "You said it in a sarcastic way are you?" Alex touches his mechanical arm, inside his 'helmet' he closed his eyes and grips his mechanical hand. Then, he whistled to cal, Reginald, his German Sheperd dog. Reginald barks at Alex and his owner bends down to touch Reginald's head. "Boy, you and I are going to have a great adventure together,"

Natalia and Demetric stood next to eachother, Demetric's arm was draped lazily over his sister's shoulders. She was shorter than he was which made it easy for him to use her as an arm rest, which she tolerated. Ivan, Natalia's hawk circled above the small group. "Hey we are going to fix the Earth. It might now be as quickly as most will like but we will get it." Natalia smiled at everyone. She was glad that she and her brother had the chance to assist the others. Demetric adjusted his tool belt and bag knocking Natalia's rifle out of place. She shrugged off his arm and readjusted her sniper rifle.

Gestalt stepped out the gates hesitantly, perhaps unwilling to go away from the all the tech built up within the boundaries within the walls. He'd been born, died, and been born again within their boundaries, always tinkering and typing on the innumerable devices sequestered in the cities vaults, rooms, and streets. This new place, 'outside' as it was called, was strange and foreign to him. It had none of the comfortable close confines he had grown up in. It was too open, desolate in its destruction. Neither was it likely to be packed to the brim with all manner of electronics, such as had been constantly fed to him by the Brotherhood.

His mechandrites twitched nervously twirling around themselves, but never knotting, making minor adjustments to his mechanical body. The dust would get into everything, it occured to him. Constant cleaning of himself and his equipement would be required. It was assumed that his companions would require his expertise at some point. There were the enlightened ones, those who had either begun to examine, or fully embraced the wonders bionic enhancement held. Then there were the brutes who rejected technologies gifts, prefering their fallible and fragile mortal shells out of fear. Both would probably come to him, but for now he remain alone in the group. His eyes, which he'd constantly upgraded and enhanced ever since his rebirth, scanned the horizon, watching, recording, as he remained silent.

The battered landscape that extended before the party was familiar to Lindsey. It had been about five years since she had last seen it. Though, this time she looked on with a different mindset. Before she would have contemplated how the spirits would guide her in her task. Her time living with a "civilized" population had made her less keen to the reverence and worship her fellow tribesmen offered to their gods.

The dust from the heavy door to the city closing gently pelted the exposed skin on her arms and face. What may have felt like just air passing by for some felt like a low burn to Lindsey's skin. Coming off the various drugs and medications had been a struggle for the tribal. She started taking them to forget about her past, as an escape. When Lindsey decided to stop taking them, she could only explain to herself that it felt right. The withdrawals she experiences from time to time were an unseen roadbump on her way to quitting.

She gently rubbed her hand across her forearm in an effort to sooth the gentle burn, but to no avail. Lindsey stepped a few meters away from the group. She played off the rubbing as her observing her tattoos. Many people would just believe that her odd behavior was from being an outsider, and it was in part, though nobody really knew much about where Lindsey came from. As she stepped, Lindsey lightly fingered the bottom of one of the pockets on her backpack. The familiar shape of a syringe comforted her. She had packed a few holdout drugs in case she just couldn't resist the urge. If nothing else, it comforted her to have them.

Lindsey kicked at a small rock, then turned to get within closer proximity of the group. They had been chosen, along with her to ultimately save their race from the reapers. It sounded like an impossible mission from the get go, but the large chance of dying wasn't a big deal to Lindsey. Death could be the only reward of a true fight.

As she overheard the idea of fixing the Earth, Lindsey scoffed.

"This is home," she opinionated, then she crouched and ran her fingers through the dirt, "what's there to fix here? It's as good as when I left it."

Lindsey continued to rake her fingers across the dirt in different motions. It was comforting. She hadn't even thought about the fact that she returning to what she considered home before now.

Alex heard Lindsey scoffed, and looked at her. "It's not the dirt we're gonna fix, it's the human's world we're fixing. Our world. And we gotta give those Reapers everything we've got," Alex's eyes began to scan the harsh surroundings, looking for those barbaric, demonic Reapers. Identifying every single thing with his cybernetic eye, from humans to trashes to debris of war.

All of a sudden, Alex's face began to itch. He tried to scratchnit but his 'helmet' that covers his head blocks him from doing it. After a few minutes, it stopped. Then, he wonders to himself and asked Lisa, "Whose face am I 'wearing' under this cybernetic mask?" He also grins under his mask, because he thinks that Lisa might say something funny about his burnt face..

Lisa looks at him in mock surprise. "Wait... You have a face?! I thought all you had was the metal one!" She lightly taps the edge of his mask with her knuckles. "You could've fooled me, Alex." She grins. "If you do have a face under all that, I bet it's the best jacked up face ever. The fire may have improved you face." Then Lisa noticed Lindsey rubbing her forearm and immediately knew what was wrong. She walks over to her, Kane following behind, and puts her hand on her arm. "It'll be alright, Lindsey. Try abs take your mind off it." She says softly so no one else could here. She smiles gently at her. "I'll help any way I can."

Alex facepalmed, on his mask while he grins inside his mask, "Oh Lisa, haha. How you've forgot how does my face looks like. We've been friends since kids.." His face itched again, this time, it lasts for 5 seconds. "Ugh, my face it's so itchy. I don't know what the hell was going on in my face," Then, he takes his Holocaust Blade and emits it with electricity and stucks onto the ground.

Tuler looked around, his Soldier suit already equipped, the rkifle steady. He sighed. "Well, shit... So, when will we meet the motherfuckers?" He said, as he reloaded the plasma rifled, energy pulsing through it for econds before he steadied it. "This should be fun. We wil, restructure humanity, and in the heat of the moment, kill a lot of those fuckers"

As he said this, the helmet of his suit broke into platws, that went into the alight bulge in his back and chest. He grinned at them, as the Ghost appeared by his shoulder. "So this is what we're dealing with? Can't be worse than the cafeteria food...."

Every sound. The wind howling as it flew across the various metal ruins. The sounds of her fellow Brotherhood's feet slowly sinking in the sand with each step. The eerie calm.

She stepped lightly as she made her way to the head of the group. She felt no desire to speak, and she looked 'round at the wastelands she knew since she was young. They held for her no fear, but instead a fey presence that was more close to her than any of these people. She is wearing a a Kevlar vest, and tight fitting garments, her feet walking so lightly on the sand as to not rouse any attention. Comparatively, the other sounded (at least to her) like elephants on marbles. and she pulls her aviator-style goggles over her face. On her hips rest her utility belt, her dual Plasma-Glocks holstered on either side of her. She looks back at this motley crew, and gives a half-hearted smile that is oh-so-fake. "Now Now, Children, Let's not bicker." She says in a sing-song tone like a kindergarten teacher would use. This is ironic, seeing as how she's younger than most of them.

Natalia listened to the others speak and smiled. With this group of people this journey would be very interesting. She looked at Tyler and his suit. Maybe with her and her brother being skilled mechanics she would finally get to work on his suit. He had constantly told her no but with the fights they were going to have she was sure it would get damaged. Demetric noticed his sister eyeballing Tyler's suit and chuckled nudging her with his arm. "If you stare to much you might start drooling." He teased her earning himself a glare from his younger sister. "Come on stop your chanting and let's go, we will never get anything done simply standing around outside the gates." Natalia said to the group after whistling to Ivan. The bird obeyed and landed to the opposite shoulder that her rifle was strapped to. She usually extra cloth on that shoulder so that his talons didn't dig into her shoulder. She had made that mistake once and wasn't going to do it again.

The Anger, Rising Inside. The Violent Beast I Try to Hide.

As his hand connects with her back, She turns, anger rising up inside her. With his back turned, she slides her hand down her outer thigh, clasping the handle of one of her Electric-Daggers. Quickly, her body pressing up behind him,in one swift movement, she raises her knees snug between his legs to keep him in place while her arm crosses over his chest, pressing the dagger to his throat. She knows it wouldn't cut through his suit but she sneers, making her point. "Don't. Touch. Me. Ever. Again." She lowers her dagger to her side but before she steps back she lets her knee press heavily and grind before swinging it back and going back into her proceeding, acting so cool as nothing happened. "And I'm not her for revenge. I'm here to kill some sons of bitches." She says quietly, in almost a whisper. She's lost some of her cool. How the hell did he know about him, I've never let anyone know. I didn't even cry. His Death is Old News.

Lisa looks over at Alex. She knew that his face itched because after knowing him for a good portion of her life, she knew what he was thinking and feeling even without seeing his face. Lisa puts her hand on Alex's shoulder. "Don't think about it. The itch will go away, sweetie. Don't think about. We got stuff to do." She walks ahead of the pack, on the lookout for reapers, knowing that she would be one of the first to know that their around. Lisa watches Teegan hold a knife to Tyler, even for a couple of moments. "Let's not get aggressive, guys. We all gotta deal with each other for a while now. so suck it up. And let's get moving. Reapers should be around as soon as the find out that people left the city." She calls Kane to her and he leaps behind her and follows her.

Lisa's touch and gentle voice were unexpected gestures. Unsure of how to respond, Lindsey gave Lisa a momentary stare, and then stood up. For good or for worse, Lisa knew of her problem. She redirected her attention at the others talking about saving the world. The state of the world seemed natural to her. She considered the state of the world as part of a natural change; much like when crops are bounteous one year and scarce the next.

Before she could respond, her attention quickly turned to the sudden scuffle between Teegan and Tyler. She didn't know much about either of them. The girl's body language was tense, as if she had just been stung by some some sort of invisible force. Either way, the unexpected burst of violence seemed normal to Lindsey. It actually reminded her a bit of the culture of her tribe. Warriors would constantly try to prove to other warriors who was better.

"We don't need to do the help the reapers do their job," Lindsey added dryly.

The sand slowly blowing, great dunes looking like tan snow, the wind picks up.

She once again focuses back on her surroundings, letting the world melt away. She observes the rise in the wind speed and looks over her shoulder at the group as she continues to walk forwards. "There's a chance of a sand-storm. Single-rank may be advisable." She says gruffly. She has gone before on trips like this, but never in such a large groups. As much as she didn't like to admit it, Lisa was right. The problems with large groups are when they start to turn on each other from the inside: These howling winds and endless seas of sand could drive a man stark raving mad. This is why she preferred to work alone. She regretted leaving CRU-98 back in the city but it was so useless on missions. She half-wondered if yesterday would be the last time she'd see it again. She keeps her eyes open... Reapers knew this environment more than even the best of scouts and they'd be looking for choke-points.

Demetric watches Teegan hold the knife to Tyler. He wasn't concerned that he was going to get hurt. "Hey I don't care if he is wearing a metal suit let's not hold knives to our companion throats. We are a team hostility toward eachother will only hurt us in the long run." The paused and looked towards Nat. Though if any of the other guys lay a hand on Nat in a way I don't like we are going to have issues. He thought to himself. He stared to follow after the others as he calibrated Wasp. He was going to use it to spy ahead of the group for Reapers.

Natalia watched her brother work on Wasp, how he got the parts to make that she would never know but she was proud of her brother for making it. She then looked around at the other AIs and animals they had brought with them. It would seem that Ivan and Wasp were the smallest of the group. She shrugged and looked ahead. She loved the fact that she could see the same things Ivan saw, though she never got to fly and see it all from above. Moving away from her brother and toward Tyler and chuckled. "So if this thing needs fixing your gunna come to me and not my brother right?" She asked hopping she would get the chance to work on it.

Tyler raised his hand, a fireball forming in it as he turns to Teegan, rifle strapped to his back as he draws a revolver at her. He stops halfway though, the melting rock dissipating into his suit as he draws the revolver in place. He looks at her for a moment, an audible growl rising to as his Ghost visibly shudders and levitates back.

He keeps his eye on her for a few moments, before talking. "Alright, listen here, princess. We are a fucking team, and if you keep pointing daggers at anyone who so much as touches you, I will personally burn your fucking hand off, understand?!" He says, angrily. "I don't give a fuck about you or your family issues, but you so much as raise an arm towards us, I will put five in your head." With this, he calms, stepping back as the Ghost sighs.

Always like this... Tyler turned to Nat as she neared, his voice immediatly changing to the usual calm, gentle self. He sighed. "Always eager, eh? Fine. But you are not touchinf Ghost. And see if you can reduce the ability cooldown, too." As he sid this, he begins walking, a motion for the rest to haul ass as he prepares his rifle again.

( Disregarding Counter-Post since it was 2 posts too late and my character has since moved about 5 feet of walking since then. Sorry, mate, need to be quicker on the draw, it'd just be back-tracking my actions to respond to that. Also, how did he know about the family thing anyways? It happened when your character was a child and my character hasn't talked about revenge or even noted her father, so I'm rather confused why OOC discussion got throw in.)

Wind. Howling. It was picking up. In this vast expansion of sand, all her focus was on the environment around her. And she could feel the wind whip at her heels, and she knew they were approaching an escarpment between two large dunes. Choke-Point.

"Listen, I'm not here to play happy families. Too many Chiefs and Not enough Indians. But we're approaching a choke-point. Everyone should have their weapons loaded and ready. This is nicknamed the Rookie Graveyard for a reason."

She slowly her paces, though they are still at least fifty feet from the point where the space between the dunes narrow. She didn't particularly care for any of these individuals; They were too cocky. Watching people die tends to take that out of you, and while she definitely didn't want to see anyone die, almost never does everyone come back from a scouting mission alive. She takes an intake of breath and mumbles under her breath "A whip-round for flowers and a coffin, you look after your own..."

(( We'll just skip it for the sake of less squabbling then... I wanted to create tension in the ranks but it's not as fun for us to all turn against each other at the beginning; I would welcome a stand-off later in the role play since my characters going to turn over to the dark side at some point, but I think for now we're planning reaper-action.)

It's too quiet. The wind blows over them, but the thick dunes on either side block the wind. Even the others paces have slowed, quieting. It's the calm before the storm.

"Trust me, you can't hear them because they're watching us. I've never gone through this and not been attacked, and it goes on for a half a mile. There's still time for them to attack; They just want us to let our guard down." She squints over head. With the sand being blown overhead by the gale-force winds, it'd be impossible to see a swarm of wingers, but considering they didn't have great hearing, it was unlikely any who flew over head would notice them. However, there could be other Reapers scouring the long escarpment: and even once they get out, the conditions were ripe for sand storms. She has her twin pistols pulled out, cocking them and checking quickly that they are fully charged... In the event they ran out, she would use her daggers rather than waste the valuable minute it would take to reload. She look to Lisa. "I have some pipe-bombs in my knapsack if the need arises... but considering we could trap ourselves in, I hope it doesn't."

Natalia nodded. Finally she would get the chance to tinker with his suit. "I won't touch your AI that's Demetric's specialty. She smiled at him however it wasn't to long before not only everyone else caught signs of a reaper but Ivan did as well. The hawk took off from Natalia's shoulder and went soaring above the group. If he saw anything he had been trained to let Natalia know in several different ways. She pulled her rifle over her shoulder to where she can use it.

Demetric had finished calibrating Wasp just as the others began to notice the presents of a reaper. He wasn't good in a fight. He was mostly here because he was a too notch mechanic and he could rig some explosive traps. He sent Wasp into the air the survey the area as well.

“The time has come to relinquish the faithful from the sinful,” said a voice who then cackled with sinister delight. A man presumably in his twenties emerged from the darkness of a destroyed skyscraper. This man stood at the nearest to top floor and stared out at the day that had marked the turn of the century. This man’s eyes lingered around for a bit before spotting eight persons; four female, four male. Strange ratio.

The man’s name was Shanol Schoetkal. He was wearing rather strange clothing (http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lel7ftjh4Z1qb0jc7o1_500.jpg), but his weaponry was something only a warrior could dream of. The Destroyer wasn’t on nor was the Revere. However his twin .44 Magnums was holstered and ready for when the fight needed some mid-range assistance. Shanol kept his eyes to those who left the safety of their enclosed city. However without really realizing it some Protars snuck up from behind, but were quickly dealt with by Shanol’s companion. He looked over his shoulder as he saw his companion rip apart the Protars with ease. He smirked and with this walked over and patted the head high [specifically matched with Shanol’s height] beast on the head; it accepted it as gratitude. Shanol returned to the edge and continued to watch over those seven individuals and wondered where their adventure may take them.

No Fear. Just Thing that need to stay alive and things that needed to die. Beasts that flew in the air that were being slaughtered around her, and one not 5 feet away that hissed on it's belly. More would come soon.

She gritted her teeth softly and drew her plasma-glocks straight out in front of her, and with a mechanism so rehearsed and robotic in it's nature, she pulled the trigger four times on each pistol in a line, hitting the Hisser in the neck and with ease she threw her body forward with her feet straight in front of her, The force she exerts in her flying kick combined with the several burning holes in it's neck causing it's head to tear off and Teegan grabs it by the still-drawn out tongue, chucking it's head at another Hisser in front of her. "You really want to die, don't 'cha, you sonnabitch."

Blood. The sounds and smells and sights of slaughter. The rage inside, funneling to satisfy the beast. Something primal and alive and real,

She quickly holsters her guns and draws her twin daggers, clicking them quickly together to send an electrical current throughout the blades. She stares right into the beasts eyes and hisses right back at it, lunging forwards and grabbing it by the neck, sliding around to it's back side as she feels drops of hot liquid splash against her arm. She's too into the slaughter to care, raising her knives and crossing her arms in front of her, slashing it's throat from both sides and beheading the second Hisser today. And as the beat falls to the ground she turns around to see what else there is. Her arm is giving off a slight burning smell but she bites her inner cheek and sucks up the pain.

"Idiots..."

Gestalt had kept to the back of the group, liking his own company better than the posturing and bickering of those who were supposed to be his companions. The presence of Reapers got his heart going a little faster than normal, but it was soon restrained by his metal self. It wouldn't do for him to get excited when he needed to focus. There was a time for adrenaline, but now was not it. Instead he slid he energy blades from their slots, dropping into his hands with a warm hum of vibrating energized teeth. None of the Reapers looked like they'd reach him, but one could never be sure. More than likely his caution would be justified before the day was out.

Natalia moved to a place where she could easily snip the on comming reapers. She hadn't heard the first to 100 game they were playing but Demetric kindly let her in on it through the mental connection her established with her. Natalia laughed. "First to 100! Please, child's play! Why put I number on it, whoever kills the most wins." She yelled down to the group. She had positioned herself on the thrid floor or a rather old rickety building. It wasn't the safest spot but she had the best range and view from it. Demetric himself had set to setting up an explosive trap asking that his sister provide him cover which she gladly offered. If her brother bite the dust she wouldn't be able to operate as she usually would. He was her other half, together they were the perfect team. Natalia watched and waited for and good chance to take her first shot.

Tyler smashed his fist together as he straight out charged, stomping Hissers and ramming against Protors awith the energy shield, as he smashed them straight into the duat, his orange visor gleaming as the bulky armor became blacker with their blood.

"Just like ol' times, right Alex?" she shot a hisser in the mouth as it tried to flank them and blood splattered on them. "I'm at 97 by the way... Duck." Games. Have to admire them, they had such a enthusiasm and exuberance, and maybe part of me wishes I had that. But I don't, and that life inside will never come back. But the beast inside lives on, and it's nostrils were filled with the iron scent of blood.

She spots a group of 8 Protars, 100 yards in front of her and approaching fast. She holds her breath and forces herself to stop shaking. "Sing a song of sixpence." She sings under her breath, so quietly no one can hear it, sliding her dagger up her sleeves, drawing her Plasma-Glocks once more and eying the three in front of the ranks. "Pocket full of rye." She aims carefully, and shoots each Protar twice in the face, a surprisingly accurate shot for the distance and no scope. They drop, and the Protars behind continue walking, unabashed by their fallen comrades. "Four and Twenty Blackbirds." She Aims and fires, hitting three more square in the face... Her Glocks were out of ammunition, and she slams them into their holster and goes into a full run, "Baked in a pie." She leaps, using their blades as they try swipe at her like rungs on a ladder, And While mid-air she brings both her daggers back and slams them through the backs of their skulls. She quickly pulls her blades back forwards and hits the ground on her feet, throwing out her one-hand to steady herself.

She looks back at the one member of the group she had not heard before. He was quiet. It unnerved her to think perhaps there was a model more efficient than herself. She let herself breath again.

The Beast and The Machine had died for a moment in time. She was becoming less mechanical and less sure of herself with each movement. That's the problem with people, they sweep you up into her emotions. She felt fear for the first time in a long time.

But rest assured, that won't happen ever again. Even if I have to go it alone, I will not let myself slip anymore.

Maybe on this mission, maybe several missions in, they'll lose their joy, their stares thousand-yards away. They'll be hollow.. She runs to join them in displacing the final wave. As She pumps a round of plasma-ammunition into a few Hissers, she lets her eyes wander over to Lisa. She moves like a lethal dancer, like a Priestess of Hiroshima ... She's the Yin to Your Yang. She turns back to her firing, a hot angry blush erupting over her face which she prays to god no one will hypothesize the reason to. She gulps softly and suddenly realizes for the last few seconds she hadn't been shooting at anything, and also her rounds are spent up. The bodies of 15 dead Hissers lie in front of her. She coughs. Gestalt watched silently as the number of targets in the vicinity rapidly declined in under the space of a minute. Some of the less modified initiates had told him that those who retained mostly flesh bodies went through something called 'fight time', if properly trained in its use. In effect, it was a perceived slowing down of reality, allowing one to move more fluidly and make better decisions due to more 'time' to think. Masters of its use could seemingly flow around their opponents like a stream of water, never being touched by projectiles or blade as they somehow anticipated everything that came towards them.

Gestalt, with his near complete bionic modification, had long since lost any possibility of experiencing 'fight time'. However, he had something which was much better. While his flesh brain was regretably free of augmentation, numerous auxiliary data recorders and processors allowed him to obtain and assess data at a rate faster than any mortal. Instinct was replaced with cold metal intellect. As such it was mere novice's play for him to become aware of the other initiate's focus upon him. Recorded data told him her name was Teegan. Rumors persisted that she was a robot, but the scans he received told him quite the opposite. In fact, so far as he could tell, she was entirely free of augmentation.

This contradiction bothered him, though he pushed it to the back of his mind for later review. Of more import were the numerous Reaper corpses littering the area. He silently strode forward, his energy blades whirring onto a higher frequency. A spitter, supposedly dispatched, rose to meet him. With an almost casual flick of his wrist, he decapitated it and moved on. Many other enemies, which should have been dead, were simply severely injured. Not the majority, but enough to be a problem if left unattended. He dispatched those in his path, advancing on his over-eager companions.

"Assessment: Reckless and Impatient. Sloppy. Seventeen percent of enemy combatants survived initial assault with only severe degredation of combat ability. Recommendation: Check kills. Double Tap enemies with intact craniums."

She turns on her heels and grits her teeth. "Now, I gotta deal with some things... " She pulls her knapsack off gingerly, taking care not to scrape it against her inflamed arm, and grabs out a small syringe. Kneeling beside on of the slain hissers, she takes her dagger and cuts a gaping incision into it's side, about half-way down it's body. She grimaces and reaches deep inside of the Hisser, pulling out a purplish organ. "I never really understood your guys's needs for those city meds, I like to scavenge my own out here." She pushes the tip of the syringe in the organ, letting it fill the vial. She then proceeds to inject it into her arm, and sighs with relief. Shanol was very pleased with the battle that took place with the seven adventures. It was pleasing to see those who were not as skilled as Shanol struggle against the forces of evil. Shanol turned towards his companion and gestured forward with his head. The companion, whose name goes by Wraith, galloped forward at sprinting speed before leaping out the window and into the air soaring into the sky. It only took a few seconds for Wraith to come by, swoop in and catch him before flying high into the sky once more. Shanol stayed how in the air to keep himself hidden from the adventurers below and with this observed a certain adventurer. A female. She showed promise.

Shanol lowered the altitude slightly to get a closer look at this female. Slim body, nice curves, and an attitude that could be used very well. Shanol smirked with devilish pleasure as he found his new victim to play with. However something was radiating off of her. Could this be love or could this be something else entirely? It wasn't long until the what seemed like impossible number of reapers had dwindled to zero. The siblings celebrated mentally as Nat carfully made her way down the building. Demetric met his sister at the bottom together the Rush siblings walked toward the group of others. Natalia had managed to go uninjured from her spot an Demetric was covered in dust and minor cuts from debris from the explosions he caused.

When the two made it back to the group Natalia noticed Tyler's injury. If he got gashed through his suit it would mean she would have to fix dent or hole it it. She would worry about that and a couple other touch up things when they made camp. It would be easier to asses the condition of both the suit and the man inside the suit when the man was no longer inside the suit. "He is going to be alright correct?" Demetric asked saying what Natalia had been thinking. Demetric was easy going yes but he was concerned for the well being of his teammates. Wasp and Ivan both came back at the same time, Wasp resting on the top of Demetric's head and Ivan perching on Natalia's left shoulder, opposite the rifle that was once again hanging from Natalia's right shoulder.

Folding his arms across his chest, he turned to watch with interest as a newcomer dropped into their presence. He found it strange that his sensors had not previously alerted him to the stranger's presence. Updates and maintenance would be required after the data had been review. As he had no direct interest in the new arrival, given that no conflict appeared, he turned his attention to planning. In particular he began formulating a new combat drone design, one which was suited to such things as stealth and ambush. The Reapers' attack had been brazen... foolhardy. Charging all at once like that had led to their slaughter. If they'd had any sense they would have kept back, lying in wait until they were a good distance away from the gate. Perhaps he'd find some spare parts to fiddle with while they were on this expedition. Unlikely, but possible...

As the group began to move through the narrow landscape, Lindsey kept to the back of the formation to provide rear security. She would have preferred to be closer to the front, but somebody had to make sure nothing snuck up on them. She was a capable leader and tactician, but her conduct in the Brotherhood had not earned her those privileges.

It didn't take long for the party to get contact. Lindsey quickly found a sturdy shooting position on a low wall. As the first waves of wingers closed in, she flicked the safety of her weapon and began to squeeze of short bursts. As the reaper's ground forces got closer, Lindsey adjusted her direction of fire. Her machine gun thumped as each round was fired and ejected as quickly as it had been chambered. Then, almost as quickly as it had begun, it ended.

As Lindsey consolidated with the rest of the group, she eyed silent member that had also stayed. She couldn't tell whether he was really human with all the technology and augmentations he had coming from his body. The thought of having machinery and electronics rigged to ones' body gave Lindsey the chills. Still she didn't dwell on the thought much, as a new figure landed near everyone.

While others quickly drew their weapons and questioned the man -and probably with good reason- Lindsey found herself more interested in the beast he had flown in on. She had never seen anything quite like it. She could see the other tribals finding some reason to revere the mysterious creature. She kept a reasonable distance, but stood her ground, calmly eyeing the beast. The man and his pet couldn't be that much of a problem anyway, especially against the superior numbers that stood in before him.

One of the many ultra-high resolution cameras in his face eyes snapped off a series of pictures for future reference, layering them in his head bound memory cores alongside the numerous scans of his physical make-up, body chemistry, and theorized fighting patterns. A mechandrite slithered into his hand, which rose to slide the writhing cord into a receptacle in his temple. This was it, this was their mission, the beginning of their final moments, at least that is how he looked at it. Micah had prepared thoroughly for this day. He had trained nonstop with his master in hopes of coming back alive. As he looked around at those gathered, he couldn’t help but wonder who would die first. It was inevitable was it not? Could they all go on this mission and return alive? Micah would have to stick around and find out just how skilled his fellow warriors were. Hummino hummed beside him, its wings flapping as it moved in odd patterns around him. The time had come for them to prove their worth, and he didn’t know if any of them were ready for such a task, hell he surely wasn’t ready for this, but he had come to the conclusion that it was better to experience it firsthand than to talk about it all day.

After Andreus finished his rather dark speech, Micah simply shrugged and took a step into the unknown. It was strange stepping outside the gate that had protected them all for such a long time. As soon as they stepped foot outside of the gate, Lisa was the first to pipe up about how beautiful the desolate wasteland was in its own twisted way. Micah simply looked at her, giving her a simply uninterested gaze. This was his reaction to most things that others found interesting and “awesome”. It was a solemn glum look, one that screamed “I don’t wanna be here” and yet he was here. Conversations broke out within the group before the attack began. Yes, an attack by Reapers. Micah, with the assistance of Hummino defeated those Reapers that attacked him, and luckily he escaped any harsh injuries.

The group began to come back together realizing what they would do for their next move. Some began speaking of a nearby city.

“Hummino, scan for any threats,” Micah stated wanting to make sure that there were no more Reapers. Hummino’s tiny head moved in the form of a nod before it’s sensors scanned the surrounding area.

“Scan results confirm no Reaper presence nearby,” Hummino reported to Micah who simply turned his attention to the situation at hand.

“This is going to end badly,” Micah stated as he looked off into the distance.

(I decided to add color to the siblings speech to make it a little easier to distinguish who is talking Natalia and Demetric)

Natalia's eye twitched and she crossed her arms. "I am a grown ass adult! Don't call me kid." She stated angrily earning a chuckle and a snide remark from her brother. "You sure don't act like a grown ass adult." He teased earning a glare from his sister. "I know where to sleep." Is a she said before turning her attention to something that wasn't her brother. Demetric chuckled and continued walking Wasp buzzed happily from its spot in his head, the sound almost sounded as if the AI was laughing at the siblings bickering back and forth. The immature bickers the Rush siblings got into was bound to bring some comic relief at some point with the group. The two argued like they were still kids.

Alex puts his sword on his back, carrying the Holocaust Blade wherever he goes. Alex stood there, looking for something. Something suddenly caught his eye, buried in the sands, a huge metallic armor with a chaingun attached and a mounted missile launcher. It's a mech suit, Alex rushes towards the place where the mech was buried. He pulled it, very hard. The mech was probably buried under the grains of sand for decades, or eons before his birth. The mech suit emerged from its burial site, it had a size of a human with a bulky appearance, he looked back at his teamates, waving his hand to the Rush siblings. He screamed their names, so eager to tell them what he found, "NATALIA! DEMETRIC! I FOUND A MECH SUIT RIGHT HERE!"

Gestalt was walking at a steady pace one second, over a dozen meters away, and the next moment he was all over the suit. His mechandrites writhed from his back, splitting into fourths to heighten the versatility. Pushing the other humans away, he quickly began to excavate what parts of the suit were left buried. A thousand tiny living wires wormed into each crevice and crack in the suit, pulling out dirt and debris in a flurry of minute motions. Gestalt twirled several cords together to form a cable, which he inserted into a data port which had emerged from the dust. Despite his obvious excitement, he remained totally silent, only the clicking and working making noise. After a few moments longer, a shock whipped down the cable into the suit. Nothing happened for a second, but soon lights and components began to come to life.

"Diagnostic Report: Loading.... Seventy Three Percent... Eighty Nine... One Hundred. Report: Armed Combat Suit Mk Six Armageddon Series. Purpose: Rapid response, counter attack, anti-armor. Combat Integrity: Sixty-four percent. Eighty-two percent of ammo capacity expended. Rapid Response Jet Thrusters hold ninety seven percent of fuel capacity. Still viable for use. Thruster integrity: Ninety one percent. Command Prompt: Stand at attention, await further instructions." At the prompt, the mech rose fully to its feet, towering over the figure it was hooked up to.

Alex walked around the majestic mech suit, then he looked at Gestalt, "I think you're better than the Rush siblings," Then, he continued to look at the mech suit, he found a number, it's 2880. "Gestalt, on what year this mech is built?" Alex is so eager to use the MK-6, he entered in the suit.

"MK-6 loading up, systems online, weapons online, thermal, nightvision, all combat systems online. Indentifying user: 78%, 90%, 100%, Welcome, Alex Hunters." Surprised of how to mech could know him, his face is covered with his mask! "Holy crap, this thing is awesome!" Standing twice the normal human size the mech is now ready..

Demetric and Natalia had come over just in time to hear Alex tell Gestalt that he was better than them. Natalia's eye twitched and Demetric tried to hold his sister back. She may be a very social person but that also means she isn't afraid to hit someone when she wants to. However before she could get to him he climbed into the mech suit. Demetric stood back knowing that if his sister could actually explode she would have done so already. "The only reason that he is better than us is because he is a freaking cyborg!" She yelled irritated that they would be compaired to him. "If you decide to keep that thing you can go to the machine for repairs, maintenance, tune ups, or improvements, and if he kicks the bucket don't come to me to fix it cuz you know I'm not good enough." She walked away no longer interested in the meca-suit. Demetric stared at his sister rather shocked. She wasn't usually offended like that. "Sorry about her she can get offended kinda easily. Not saying that comment wasn't slightly hurtful to our pride but she did over react a bit." He looked over the meca before heading after his sister who had heard him apologize for her and had yelled at him to not apologize for her.

The corner of her mouth twitches like a fish who was caught in an electrified net. She lets it rest upwards as she watches Alex. He really really needs to feel like he's not deformed. He wants to be perfect, he wants to make up for his face. She remembered Alex, before the accident. He was handsome, and alot of the girls she trained drooled over him. She never had time for men, but she had to admit he was well-formed and a careful fighter. His bravado... Was it him making up for being unable to stand the sight of himself? She looked sideways at Lisa and let her other corner go up But she could care less about his face, eh? The way she touched him was not the way a comrade touches a fellow soilder... She touched him like she was afraid she'd lose him She really didn't know why her thoughts had turned to the people around her.. Perhaps she was trying to forget what the demon had said. His bullshit excuses... What did he want with her, a new skin suit? She stood as silently as she did ever since she announced the city nearby... Walking in silence ahead of her comrades... She despretely wanted to be alone but she couldn't leave now, not while those predatary eyes were watching her from afar...

But Alex was happy. She was glad for him, wishing she knew what that joy felt like. Did she ever feel joy?

She clears her throat and looks over at Gestalt. "It's in remarkably good condition for being out in the waste-lands.... Do you think someone could be laying a trap?" She knew he wouldn't have room in his mind for creative thinking, but maybe he could do some scans on the surronding areas. She herself never liked mecha's, no matter how much she craved to be deprived of all these emotions that made her weak. She trained her body to be her weapon.. it was her armour and her..... ..way to attract fuckin' creeps apparently. She shook her head as if to shake the offending thoughts out of her mind, looking back to Gestalt.

"Whoa whoa hey Nat. Are you really that easily offended? However, I still need you to repair my mask or improve without chainging its appearance of course." Alex tried to pull the trigger of the minigun of the mech, nothing happened. It wasn't firing anything, he turned to the angry rather frustated Natalia, he hits her lightly, "Hey, Nat I bet you're good in weapon repairing. Try repair this, and Demetric. Can you improve my mask's regeneration? I had to wear it until I got my face healed," Alex jumped off the mech, tapping on Natalia's shoulder after that, "Don't mess up with Jackey will 'ya?" Alex referred the mech as Jackey, "Oh and by the way, give an AI to it too!"

Gestalt was still hooked in to the Mech, apparently running of a series of software updates from the long train of nearly incomprehensible words he was muttering. Natalia's criticizing of his mechanical nature seemed to have severely irritated him, increasing his work speed to a feverish pace. Mechandrites whipped in and out of the suits data ports, even running a few minor repairs on what mechanical components he could reach without disassembling the entire suit to its components. He turned his head to look at the girl who'd spoke to him.

"The presence of aged and dried blood coating the cockpit, along with some small puncture marks along the foreward chassis, suggest that the previous occupant was killed before the mech deactivated. Combined with signs of the escape mechanisms having activated suggests that a high power armor piercing rifle wounded the occupant, who disengaged from the suit in an effort to escape. Conjecture: From the amount of blood, normal humans would not have survived. Assesment: The reason for the rotary cannon's non-functioning state is that all of its ammunition having been expended. However, most of the rockets remain unfired. Conjecture #2: The mech's operator was firing at soft targets, humans or Reaper, before being brought down."

She nods softly, holding her chin. "Listen, guys, I know this is an excting..." Her gaze goes up to Alex in his mech and she cocks a single brow, "facilitation in our journey but the fact is it's nearly dawn, and I sure as hell am not setting up a secure base in the dark, even if some of you have infra-red. Besides." She absently-mindedly starts to stroke the underside of her chin with her thumb. "For those of us without night vision we'd be blind to any Reaper attacks and a slaughter could be likely. Let's hurry so we can at the very least find a safe place to camp if we can't make it to the actual city tonight. We've made a snail's pace." She gives a very faint grin, which disappears off her face as soon as the three second mark is reached. She has little hope left that they'll all make the night. If they do, it'll be a miracle, they haven't even found camp and it was getting later with each passing minute.

We might die tonight. We could all be massacared, and no one in the city will even think of us till weeks later.

Natalia scoffed. Nice try, I can only handle on project at a time anyway I have to focus on the fully functional mech suit Tyler wears. Maybe Demetric will tinker with it but I have lost interest. Anyway I agree with Teegan we need to find shelter or we will be sitting ducks." Natalia headed to where the other girl was standing. Ivan had long since sensed her frustration and had taken to the air. The girl adjusted her rifle and waited for the others to follow suit. Demetric nodded "We do need to find shelter and once we do that I will see what I can do about the mech and your mask. The AI might be harder I had access to a lot of tech when I built Wasp, out here I don't have nearly as much. I might be able to build a skeleton of and AI but I won't be able to power it. Also I would need to know I little more about the mech to make a compatible AI" He shrugged. [color="We will see about all that later."[/color] He motioned for the other to continue onward, they did have a job to do.

Almost as quickly as he had came, the stranger, or demon, left. It bothered her that the man said he would be seeing them again. There was enough danger around the small group as it was, they didn't need one more creep following them. On the other hand, he was just one man. Lindsey felt no need to fear him, but she did owe him some respect. Anybody that lived outside of the protecting walls of Atlantus had to possess sharp skills to stay alive.

The convenient find of the mech was a double edged sword. It might be a good force multiplier, but it would be very difficult to move across the wasteland without being noticed. There was also the matter of how much time it had already taken to dig it out and get it working. It was imperative that they kept moving.

"Tin grin," Lindsey said to Alex with some annoyance in her voice as she kicked one of the mech's legs, "either get this thing moving or leave it, but we have to get moving right now. It's getting dark and those dead reapers aren't the only ones out here."

Without another word the tribal started off in the direction of the city. Her pace was faster than normal; partly in an effort to make up for lost time, and partly out of annoyance. She made her way to the front of the formation, and didn't bother to stop to see if anyone followed.

She listened in as Alex talked to the twins. She smiles a bit when Nat turned down he offer to upgrade his mask. "Eventually you should get to it, Nat." she rests her arm on Alex's shoulder, grinning. "He's quite the vain person and he needs to have his face back so he can look at it in the morning. And this dummy won't let me help him." she pokes Alex's helmet. "Anyways. We better get moving. We won't be able to hold off a fleet of reapers again without some rest." She grabs Alex by the sleeve and drags him away, calling Kane to her. The massive wolf happily bounded next to them.

Teegan was right behind Lindsey, and she thought about passing the girl but decided to walk three paces behind her as not to infuriate her more. Knowing Gestalt and likely Tyler were following close behind, she speaks in a quiet but calm tone, knowing from her many reconnaissance missions when night falls and the Reapers are blind, their hearing gets awfully acute. "Listen, Visibility is getting low and you two and maybe Alex have the best eyes right now.. I think you two should go ahead of the group and maybe one of you can ping Alex's Mech and tell him to take the caboose in case we got a...tail." She finishes lamely, not wanting to say what she was really thinking. She looks down at her pistols in case they somehow depleted all their ammo while she had them holstered and was reassured they were completely full. She was nervous. She never was when she faced this wasteland alone, and somehow it was the simple fact that there was a group of them that made her edgy. She long learned how to silence her movements and attract as little attention as possible, and yet they're already had a horde of Reapers and a lunatic in only one day! Whereas she faced less Reapers in an entire sweep, knowing the area like the back of her hand and all it's choke-points and safe areas. She contemplated abandoning the group once more, but now that she saw how wet behind the ears they were, she couldn't. They could face Reapers well enough, but they needed someone to show them how to survive the Wasteland. If she left... They'd die of the elements. They'd starve, with their ration packs and ignorance of the safe plants and creatures to eat. They'd dehydrate, with no knowledge of the last untainted water source in this area. And they'd rely on their mechanics.. when the Mech half buried in sand should've reminded them the truth out here: The best of technology will fail, and no one survives every time, because no matter how brave or good you are, we'll all die out here eventually. The best you can do is train your body and your mind to fight as hard as you can until the inevitable day you are over-powered. Because you don't live in this hell-hole of a world; You just survive until the next day

After having left the adventurers’ to their lonesome, the sun was already starting to settle itself against the horizon. Shanol was pleased with the outcome of his first meeting. It was something of a theater production being produce and then shown to the blind in hopes of sparking interest in the blind who have no need for watching, but rather; hearing would be simply put. Like a theater that was meant for the blind, but produce a performance that was so sound-based that the blind were able to picture the scenes in their minds without physically seeing what was in front of them. That is how Shanol saw those adventurers, as those who were blind, but able to see with their minds by the sounds that were fed into their skulls. Shanol took pleasure in seeing production that yielded results of his liking. However since the night was surely upon him, he had to choice but to retreat into the darkness of the city and watch the girl as well as the group as a whole’s travel. Shanol knew her intentions were strongly tied with the past, but manipulating the intention into something of a positive feedback would mean there will have to be deception involved. Shanol frowned at that thought. He didn’t want to use deception on an innocent soul like that, but then again a body like should be cleansed with his hands.

After Shanol fantasized about sexual relations with the woman, he returned to reality. He noticed that the adventurers were examining lost machinery. There were many lost machinery scattered throughout the city, but seeing that the adventurers stumbled upon one was a miraculous discovery to Shanol. He couldn’t help but smile; in a sinister sense. “The time is almost near,” said Shanol as he settled his elbow upon the Destroyer. “The time of retribution for your sins,” said Shanol once more knowing that what was to take place in the middle of the night was surely going to be something. Then it hand occurred to him that he could disrupt that area by shifting the gravity for a certain period of time. With this Shanol lifted up his right hand and activated the Infinity Mechanism in which caused the gravity in the area to be neutral; thus there is to be no gravity in the area. He wondered what sort of reaction the adventurers will get if they notice that the gravity has shifted in the area.

(They are siblings not twins, Demetric is the older sibling)

Nat sighed. "His mask would be more my brother's field anyway. The past couple of years I have chosen to work more closely to weapon mechanics than things like AIs or his mask, plus my brother understands more of the healing factor of things. I will stick to working with Tyler's suit and maybe, maybe, I will work on the mech we just found." She quickly checked her ammunitions to make sure she had fully reloaded her rifle after the reapers. She also made sure it was on safety. She didn't want to accidentally shoot anybody or anything. She then speed up to walk a few paces behind Teegan. She was still irritated that Alex would compare her and her brother to a man who had the database of a machine. Though she was curious as to the tech within the mech suit her top priority was Tyler's suit. Alex had other ways to fight, Ty's suit was his main weapon. If it didn't work efficiently then he was a warm body taking up space.

Demetric watched his sister walk ahead. "She is right she should stick to weaponry. While she is an amazing all around mechanic she is not so good with things like AIs and human tech. I will work on the mask though personally I would rather have a bad ass scar on my face than my charmingly good looks. Nobody takes someone seriously when you look this good." Demetric was teasing now trying to lighten the mood that his sister had just made slightly upsetting. He didn't usually think that way about him self and was never seriously conceded, sure she joked around as if he was but really he was more focused on his work to care to the female gender thought about him.

Teegan stops in her tracks, looking over at an expansion of sand in the distance. "The hell...?" She mutter under her breath. She noticed that the sand had started to float up, and a vulture over head of the area had difficult moving from on spot, beating it's wings fruitlessly. She shook her head and forces her way to the beginning of the group, changing their direction silently. "We'll cover more ground if we work on a diagonal." It was an easy lie because in most cases it was the truth; in this case, it made no difference since they were at a 30 degree angle from the city. She didn't like the vibe she got from that area though. She really doubted anyone noticed, and she half-wondered if she was going mad from exhaustion.

She let herself fall back behind the group, and she takes a deep breath. Her normally quite masculine walk soon turned to a full-hip swing and she ran her fingers through her hair in the front, messing it off softly. It might be my imagination, a sand squall, anything, but I ain't never seen anything like this in the desert. If this is going to be a war between man and demon, well, I've had many inner ones to face. Feed it till it grows weak and fat then destroy it when it goes soft. I'll let it think it's winning... But I still don't know why it chose me over the others. Is it attracted to getting it's teeth kicked in, 'cause that's all it's getting. She only feels soft tremors in her arms, and it was easy to think it was the cold. She quickens her pace to fall with Tyler, this new walk quite unfamiliar to her but she learned from watching other girls. She nods to him and then looks over her shoulder at everyone else. "She's right, It's not the most easiest place to sleep though... It's was a religious building back in the old times... And no one's bothered to clean the bodies on the ground." She takes a deep inwards breath. "But it'll have to do. You guys need some shut-eye; I'll take the first shift of guard duty."

Natalia swatted at his hand. "Stop patting my head, it makes me feel like a child." She muttered wiping the dust from her rifle. "This thing is going to need so much cleaning out here as well as both mech suits." She grunted. "And who is going to end up needing to clean one of not both of the mech suits? Hm would that be me. Maybe I will just show Ty how to properly clean the sand out of everything and then have him to it." That thought reminded her of something. "We are going to have to clean all of the machines we have with us nightly, AIs, weapons, mech suits, everything if sand builds up they will stop functioning properly. The sand grinds away metal we can't have anything failing on us while we are out here." She received a nod of agreement from her brother who had been thinking the same thing. It would be worse if they ended up getting stuck in a sand storm, which was a high probability. "Alex, it would be a good idea if you didn't try to operate the suit we just found before it was cleaned, with it being buried in the sand like it was there is bound to be a lot of sand in places sand shouldn't be." He walked closer to his sister, speaking directly to her. "We can't lug around that suit for more than tonight I need you to work with the cyborg as you called him to get that thing fully functional tonight. I will work on Alex's mask." He could do little bit of work while they walked with the help of Wasp who was still sitting on the top of Demetric's head. "Wasp hold this." The insect like AI buzzed and took to the air holding the mask so that Demetric could use both his hands to work rather than needing to only use one. Meanwhile Nat looked over the suit Ty was hauling and then at Tyler's suit. "Sure you may think you know how to properly clean your suit but you would be surprised how many tricks there are to easy but proper cleaning. And cleaning sand from a suit is a lot more tedious and difficult than a routine cleaning. Even I have to clean my gunna different way. She sighs and suddenly race up ahead of them, having spotted the ruins of the Cathedral before they could let their gums stop flapping. She kicks the door down, an easy task considering the wood has been stripped of it's vanishing by the elements and the hinges have rusted to the point of barely being considered metal. She holds up her pistols and scans the area, knowing that Reapers were not the type for stealth and even the most unconscious would have been roused by the noise. Still, she takes no chances. "Tyler, Gestalt, Alex, whoever... Can I get some readings? I doubt there's any walking Reapers but I've seen a Protar who couldn't get up and still sliced a comrade's legs off..." The SoundBait let out a frequency higher than any human or Reaper could here, but wild dogs and wolves could hear it. She never much liked the idea of eating something that was once considered a pet, but it was the best she could do this time of night. Besides, these assholes weren't very cute and quite vicious. She squats in the sand with her Pistols pulled out, scanning the horizon for any that'd be attracted to the noise... She had her back pressed up against the wall behind her. She noticed they passed a small grove of Cacti only 100 feet infront of the Catherdal and she knew that at least one of the varieties there was edible. She whistles under her breath, waiting for an animal to approach.

Gestalt had been walking alongside the mech, which he had commanded to walk at the same pace as him. It was a given that he'd been running scans. Thus far he'd detected nothing. Of course the main body of his attention had been focused on focused on typing into a wrist bound digitally projected screen, so he would grant that perhaps more attention to their surroundings. Finishing up the current process he was writing, he turned his physical (albeit enhanced) eyes to their surroundings. It was indeed a large building of presumably religious nature. However determining exactly which religion or god it had been devoted to was... difficult. Many if not all of the Old World's belief systems had fragmented under the weight of the apocolypse. Little organized worship had taken place afterwards.

In a similar manner to those unfortunates who had lived through The End, the Brotherhood didn't put much credence into religious matters. Their focus was always towards pure physical survival, not what came after. From this it would not be unreasonable to expect that Gestalt, with his 'worship' of technology, would regard religion as unnecessary at best. While there was some element of truth in this, Gestalt did regard belief in some 'greater purpose' as useful in many regards. It helped bind communities together, especially during crisis. It provided a common point of reference over which agreements could be made, by which society could exist. What he would not agree to was -which- system of belief was superior. There were too many references, even in the Brotherhood's scant records of history before The End, of wars started over religion. None of them had prevailed in The End.

"Initial scans provide no evidence of Reaper presence in the range of: Three Kilometers," he responded after a few seconds of thought. "Guaranteed Accuracy: Eighty-Three Percent. Likelihood of undetected Infiltration: Thirteen Percent. Recommendation: Post minimum of two human sentries, opposite ends of structure, in addition to electronic monitoring. Shift change three times over the night's course. First Shift Recommendation: Demetric and Natalia. Further Commentary: Lighting a fire would attract Reapers. Sleeping in a close huddle would conserve body heat, as ambient temperature levels drop to ten degrees Celcius at midnight. Projected Weather Forecast: Tomorrow- Light Cloud Cover, end of Sandstorm before Sunrise."

Demetric looked into the place where they would be camping. "Wasp give me the mask and do a scan of the area. Note any other exits and look for signs of life." The mechanical insect buzzed in responce and flew into the dimed area. It wasn't long before the small AI returned. "Anything signs of life?" Wasp's bulb like eyes flashed a red color. "Any other ways in?" This time it's eyes flashed a green color. Demetric took a cord from his pocket. He connect the wire to wasp and then to his watch looking over the video feed of the building. He switched from several different cameras and back. "It all seems fine to me. There is and entrance on the other side so two people on guard would be a good idea as Gestalt said. Seeing as Natalia and j will be up most of the night anyway it would make sense for us to take first shift. He unhooked Wasp and sighed. He needed to improve his small AI. He needed to give it a better way to communicate and her also needed to make sure he could get video feed directly to his watch. He looked at the mech they had hauled with them. It seemed fine but if it turned out it was beyond repair he would take it upon himself to strip the thing of parts.

Natalia looked over at Tyler's AI. "I figured as much I was just making sure." She looked at Gestalt and Demetric who had just finished a scan of the area they planned on camping in. "Well if it is safe then let's set up. I have work I need to do." She looked back at her brother who after he looked over the mech suit that Tyler had seemed to think about something then her returned to working on Alex's mask.

Lisa walked into the Catherdial and set a spot in the center in order to start cooking the food. Even if lighting a fire was not good, Lisa could still prepare a cold meal that would taste better than cold rations. She started preparing the rations as Kane began to whine and cover his ears with his paws. She strokes his head. "It's okay puppy. Someone is bring inconsideration and hurting your ears. Although Alex is now finding a way to overcome his phobia, pyrophobia or arsonphobia that he have been experiencing after the accident. He went to Lisa, and Reginald follows behind him. "Hey Lisa need help lighting up fire?" He gather up some wood and put it at the center, "So, what are we cooking?" Alex asked, then he lit up the fire using his electrical powers from his cyber arm. The fire lits up, and Alex suddenly backed up. "Ugh fire," he said to himself in a soft voice.

Gestalt disconnected himself from the Mech, sending it into a sleep and self repair mode. While not able to replace the physical components that had been damaged, it could re-route power and command functions through non-damaged connections, improving response times and functionality. This would also allow the new programming time to integrate. Some people (the unlearned ones anyways) though that once you entered a code, it instantly worked perfectly. However in the same manner that anyone working with motors knows, the programs needed to be run for a while on a low power routine to work out any bugs, reveal flaws, and make sure the code actually did what it was supposed to. Gestalt would check up on it in the morning.

However currently he felt called to deal with present (human) company, one of which had clearly not listened to perfectly sound advice. All it took was one stomp on the still young flames and a sweep of his foot to cover the fire with dust to put out the fire. Turning to Alex, he scowled. Or rather he frowned. Overly complex differentiations between facial expressions was difficult to achieve with his current level of face complexity. Up until this point, such things had been considered irrelevant, as he usually did not have much contact with those not like himself (obsessed with tech) or find himself in stressful situations. He'd need to work on that for clarity of communication to the dull brutes that surrounded him now.

"Chastisement: It was vocalized one minute three seconds previous to now, that lighting a fire was not recommended. Projection: 'Discovery by Reapers' likelihood increased three percent. Statement: Physical comfort from fire's warmth is worth considerably less than physical safety from hostile attack."

She looks at Tyler and raises a finger to her lip. Normally, "Princess" might've resulted in a similar violent stand-off as the one they had earlier, but she could not let the wild dog that was approaching her SoundBait escape; She was hungry. She aims to it when the animal ducks away suddenly, and She stands up, looking for the reason. However, there's no Reapers on the horizon. She walks over to her bait only to realize that it has gone dead. She curses under her breath and storms off. She doesn't even bother to don her protective gloves as she grabs the segment's of the flat, low cacti she eyed earlier. Her hands stinging softly, she drops them on the ground infront of Lisa. "Here, help me skin these. I...." She looks at her wolf and winces softly: She forgot how far the sound travels. "I'm starving... The fire would have been fine since these weird coloured panes don't let the light glow out the windows but... We need the sleep anyways." She glares at Gestalt but chooses not to chastise him, too hungry and exhausted to pick her usual fights. But she does use some of her reserve energy to push one of the heavy wooden pews infront of the door, gritting her teeth at the creaks the nearly rotten wood makes. She hated sleeping at the place, It always gave her the heebie-jeebies...

"Observation: There is not sufficient recorded evidence to support claim 'fear of fire'," he responded sourly, if such a flat metallic tone could hold the proper inflection. "Numerous incidents recorded of Reapers persisting in assault despite being set ablaze. Spitter class in particular is highly resistant to burning. Postulation: Spitter acid somehow toughens host flesh to degredation. Source of Records: Brotherhood Archives, Section Chrome, Security Level: Headmaster. Reason for Source Acquisition: Weapon Tests, Case #41162a, Weapon Classification: Experimental Flame Cannon Pheonix, Personnel Issue. Purpose: Structure Clearance, Support Weaponry. Burst fired napalm canisters, split on impact. Could be switched to standard flame-caster. Test Results: Full halt on experimentation, Flame Cannon Pheonix Operator Sergeant Specialist Mark 'Dynamo' Schwarts listed as K.I.A.. Cause of Death: Spitter protectile to the cranium, brain consumed by acid. Additional Casualties: Private First Class Nathaniel Reterson, K.I.A, eviscerated by Protar, Private First Class Jacqueline Eriker, K.I.A, Spitter round to the Chest, Lieutenant Commander Jacob 'the Steel Fist' Johnson, Severely injured. Spitter acid disabled- Right and Left Arms, Left Leg. Partially consumed by Winger Swarm. Three chest wounds from identified Reaper. Postulated to be an Alpha Protar form. Lieutenant Commander medi-vacced to Atlantus Primary Medical Center."

During this recitation, Gestalt a distinctly flat expression, eyes seeming to stare at an unseen data feed rather than his companion. "Conclusion:," he finished, returning his attention to present company. "Flames have debatable effect on Reapers. Lighting a campfire attracts Reapers to the position. Squad-mates underestimate Reaper night-time enhanced sensory input. Can smell blood from range of five kilometers, downwind. Can hear movement from under one kilometer. Can see light sources from four, given proper altitude difference and ambient light levels. It is night time. We are the only source of light for many kilometers." Unwilling to waste further time, he turned away from the group and went to sit down on a seat-height boulder. From the pack he was carrying, he produced a tool kit of some kind, and began to use the tools on his leg joints.

Natalia grunted as she sat down to start cleaning a repairing things. She sad beside the mech suit that they found watching Gestalt work on it before he went to go stomp out the fire. She shook her head and pulled her goggles over her eyes turning on the light that was attached to them so she could see her work. She started with her rifle. She knew how to clean it easilly and quickly. She looked over at Demetric who had set up his fancy portable desk and had Alex's mask as well as multiple tools on it. He was hard at work with Wasp shining light down on his work. He had positioned himself himself in front of the door they had entered taking his spot for the first watch. He would probably move near Nat when they were done with their watch but for now the siblings were as a far apart as anybody had seen them since Demetric started training with the Brotherhood. After Gestalt had finished speaking Demetric coughed. "Look I hate to tell you but not only do Nat and myself need light to do our work but so does our medic. There is going to have to be some sort of light source at night unless you want to waste time and stay well into the day tomorrow, which would put us behind schedule and risk is not being able to find survivors. Our timing could be the difference between life and death of a person." Demetric did not look up as he worked and he was so focused on his work that his voice bearly held any emotion. Tyler chuckled. "The easin for insuficient data is kost people recording it do not see it in action. Most people dont even come back alive. It all jn essence ddepends on where this reaper is located"

Ghost spun, before talking. "Wrong, both of you. It is in fact proven some Reapers cam be hyper sensitive to fire and light, this is only true with Reapers thatduel in thd cities, as they mo0st usually hide underground or in dark spots. Also, due to the current sandstorm and general ambiance, it is impossible for anything within a fifty meter radius to even feel the fire, much less see it. Teegan has walked back to the group and, ignoring the rest of them (She really could care less about the fire; In her mind there were advantages and disadvantages, but the fact they were inside a flammable building surrounded by wooden seats was personally her fear.), squats down next to Lisa. "Yeah, it's not my information though. My ... father was the one who figured it out and is-- was a credit to his party." She says, rather stiffly. "No one has really studied Reapers far enough to name their organs, but the organ you want rests just under the sac which holds it's bile... It releases a small coolant in it's mouth via some ducts so it doesn't burn itself while it attacks. The coolant is safe to humans, and can repair up to second degree burns... Third and forth degree burns reach too deep for the coolant to be effective, so amputation is the only option. It's a nifty thing for any burn really; even a simple salve of it and thickening ingredient can help sunburn. I have about 7 vials, and this stuff is potent, but I can easily harvest some more if we run out."

Tired and irritated, mostly due to withdrawals, Lindsey entered the old building without speaking a word. The location seemed secure enough from most threats, and they had the numbers and equipment to defend against a more serious threat. She couldn't complain much, except for the bickering of a few squad mates over whether they should have a fire. Personally, she sides with Gestalt. The risks of having a fire outweighed the benefits in her mind, plus, she was used to roughing it.

Lindsey quickly broke down her weapon and began cleaning it. The sand had done its job splendidly. It had found its way through the cracks and crevices of the machine gun, but luckily, due to the robust design of the weapon it hadn't jammed. As she cleaned, Lindsey studied the human robot hybrid, Gestalt. The modifications he had done to his body were extensive, and Lindsey concluded that he couldn't master his natural body and had to make up for it. She agreed with his logic and the way he conducted himself though. If need be, she would be able to work with him, or... It.

Lindsey pulled a small piece of dried meat she had in her backpack. She eyeballed it, then glanced Lisa's hound. She wouldn't have minded eating it. Absentmindedly, she began to eat her small ration. It would be better if the others are a little more, and it wasn't advisable to do what she was about to do with a lot of food in her stomach. The drugs wouldn't have the same numbing rush if they were diluted other nutrients. With a short huff, Lindsey reached into her pack and grabbed a syringe and a small container full of an orange fluid.

The drug was a pain relieving medication that was commonly known on the streets as "juice." It gave off a warm numbing effect throughout the entire body. Its a potent medication that is almost never seen outside of emergency rooms, mainly because it could be highly addictive of taken repeatedly.

Lindsey pocketed the supplies and began looking around the old cathedral. After a few minutes of exploring, she has found a room secluded enough to feel alone. She quickly pulled the syringe and vial from her pocket and drew out a small dosage. For a moment she fought the urge to inject herself.

"I need this," she muttered before guiding the needle to a vein in her left arm.

As she walked back, the drug's effect began to give her that familiar high. She felt warm and calm. As she walked back to the others, she discretely deposited her drugs into her backpack and snatched it up, moving closer to the others. She put the backpack down and then lie her head on it as some kind of pillow.

"Wake me up for the last shift of watch," was all she said to anyone before she rolled to her side and let her self slip into sleep, the drug facilitating that nicely.

Teegan could certainly be a help out her, since she knows the plants and animals out her better than herself. "That's awesome. I'll save that tidbit for later. Thanks." She finishes peeling and starts cooking over the fire, letting some of the rations and cacti heat up in a pan over the fire.

Lisa shifts over to Tyler as Alex talks to everyone, bringing her supplies with her. "Okay. Shirt off, Tyler. Teegan smirks and gets up, shoving a large book (likely a religious text) into Alex's arms that has been loaded with peeled prickly pears. "Here, eat up. You don't have to cook to eat y'know. And there's enough for everyone to have a reasonable amount..." She peers at Alex and smiles sadly. "It... only works for fresh burns. The coolant needs to be injected within 6 hours of the incident or it has no effect... If you just want it as a painkiller, feel free, but it's healing effects won't work on..." She stops, and bites her tongue. She really doesn't want to remind him, no matter how good of faith he has about it. Even herself, with her stony exterior and seeming coldness towards her Father, still felt a kick in the gut when someone mentioned him. She slides a vial in his pocket and a small syringe. "Keep it if you or anyone else needs it though and I'm other wise engaged, okay? You don't need that much, maybe a quarter of that vial or slightly more depending how bad the burn is."

She walks away and to everyone else, seemingly disappears. In reality, she was going to a back room she knew of. It was surrounded on three sides by beautiful stained-glass windows, and the roof had been destroyed by the elements years ago. The sand storm had stopped, though the winds still sounded fierce. She laid down in a small nest she had made some months before out of the moldy curtains and table clothes she found downstairs last time she camped here. She had loved this room at first, but when she woke up in the middle of the night, a figure in the windows eyes were suddenly glowing... He was the one that stood in the middle, with a peculiar yellow circle that floated over his head, a beard, and a red sash. The eyes were glowing red. Still, if the group were gonna sleep here, she'd rather this room alone. She looks up at the stars above her, and took a large bite out of her pear. She peered at the book laying in front of her and opens it to a page at random. "Resist the Devil and he will flee from you" She laughs, and laughs, and laughs herself into a restless slumber.

Demetric and Natalia both look up form their work. They weren't oblivious to their surroundings after all. As if planned by they two they both looked at Tyler "Hello, working on tech over here don't plan on sleeping anytime soon either." The siblings then went back to there work as if they didn't notice what they had just done. Of course they did but they didn't really care, it wasn't the first time that the two had done something like that. Natalia was convinced it had something to do with Demetric's weird mental connection to her but he would always wave it off as coincidence. However shortly after Demetric finished what he had needed to do with the mask. He stood up and walked over to Alex. "I am pretty sure I improved the regenerative factor to the mask, I also improved the night vision and infrared. Simple things really however if the mask feels odd or starts to overheat take it off immediately we don't need this thing frying your brain. Trust me that wouldn't be good. If and when we get the other mech up and running since you wish the be the one to operate it I will see if I can maybe configure your mask to it or something I am not quite sure, that will come up when needed." He handed Alex the mask and walked back to his desk. He now needed to work on Wasp and prep some explosives for the next day. He got the feeling he and Natalia would be in for some long nights while they adjusted the tech they had to operate to its maximum ability out here. A weak link would be fatal.

Natalia finished cleaning her gun and moved to Tyler's suit. A small amount of visable giddy excitement showed on her face but was gone just as quickly as it had shown up. She spent some time cleaning it and then she took out one of her scanners and ran a quick diagnostic of the suit so she knew what she was dealing with. Afterward she went to work to see if she could speed up the cool down process. She knew it would be tough task and if she didn't have the right tools it wouldn't happen at all while they were outside Atlantus.

Alex took his mask from Demetric and was amazed by Demetric's work. Improving infrared, thermal and nightvisions. "Whoa! Is there anything that I need?" Alex goes at the door that Reginald was looking at and opens it. The military's food supplies was kept in there, and it was preserved for long term use. "Guys, I found some food!" Last but not least, he got water, the thing he needs for his 'weapon'. "Sweet, better work on this right now. One coolant can already make 10,"

Alex pours the water into the metal crate, then he cuts the coolant in two and squeezes its cool, frozen blood. Because Hisser's blood will freeze immediately when exposed to air. Then, he takes out the smaller 'organ-like' stuffs in the coolant and put it into the crate. He waits for 10 minutes it's ready. Alex takes the vials and takes the liquid into the vial, closing the vial immediately.

Minutes later, he came to the others with 10 vials. He named it, Sub-0, "Guys, I made these. 10 vials filled with a compound of Hisser blood, the coolant's minor organs and water. This is useful against a small group of Reapers, throw it at them and it immediately freezes the enemy that gets in contact with it,"

Instead Shanol attacked those responsible for creating such an atrocity. He was the reason that religion was not accepted, as often, outside the walls. And it was he who caused those to deprioritize their priorities towards their religion in hopes of being spared by Shanol. In these lands he was the god; an idol that was falsely believed to have brought the age of destruction upon the land. Shanol was at the top of the spiritual hierarchy and controlled all things that lied within the spiritual realm.

Shanol, having turned his attention away from the camping adventurers, wondered what sort of entrance he should make this time. He looked towards Wraith before returning to the adventurers. Shanol leaped onto the back of Wraith and flew in seconds later. Having landed before the doors of the church, Shanol dismounted Wraith and walked towards the front doors pushing them in. He was before the adventurers once again, “Why hello there adventurers! I didn’t think you people would be here at such a time as this!”

Lisa turns to go to her area that she had picked out to sleep at when she saw the stranger from before appear in the doorway. Lisa turns on her sword, her exhaustion completely leaving her. "Why the hell are you here again?!" She demanded of the stranger. "Why are you following us? And don't try anything, we have you outnumbered!" Demetric took the viles and looked them over. "Thanks man." He want back to work on Wasp and his watch. The small AI was the first working on he had built and had only recently gotten it into a fully functional state. There were still improvements to be made. Both Demetric and Natalia ended up moving into an area where they woudn't disturb the others as they worked. Demetric spent time rearranging the pieces of his watch as Wasp, and eventually got it to where he would be able to see everything the AI saw live instead of a couple minutes later. Afterward he patted Natalia's shoulder and walked away to get some rest. He would finish what he needed to do some other time for now he needed to sleep. The same went for Nat but she was still fiddling with Tyler's suit, making sure she knew where everything connected. She had also finished repairing the hole in his suit. The spot looked as if it was never damaged which was a good thing, and though she had limited tools she had what she needed to do simple tasks such as fixing a small hole. She looked over at Ty to make she he was alright before continuing with her work. She said nothing as she worked.

Gestalt looked up at the ruckus coming from the front of the church. Standing up, he went over to the mech. "No more of this," he muttered. "He'll just keep coming back." A quick flick of his wrist brought the mechandrites to his fingers. Yet again they formed a cord and were slotted into the receptacle. The mech powered back up, standing slowly and quietly to its full height. Its chassis opened up, revealing the seat and controls. Gestalt turned around, stepped back, and settled into its confines. The multitude of his mechandrites slotted into all of the available entry points. In response the chassis enclosed around him. Software updates instantly completed. Weapon systems primed themselves and a missile slotted into the tube...

The first warning Shanol would have was the click of the firing mechanism priming, less than a second later an anti-armor rocket meant to take down the Old World's largest machines of battles streaked towards him, flying over the head of Gestalt's companions.

“Futile, (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9A-amHipYmg&src_vid=DJXE7dGcQlk&feature=iv&annotation_id=annotation_3161289809)” mumbled Shanol as he activated the Infinity Mechanism shifting the gravity of the anti-armor warhead; without the use of his hands. The anti-armor warhead shifted off to the left coming pass Shanol on a curve. He turned towards the one who had fired that warhead and with this Shanol shook his head in disappointment, “You should never fire you weapon at a god. What sort of manners do you possess?” Shanol’s face was a mixture of amusement and frustration as he took a step forward towards the group answering the man and woman’s questions.

“Why the hell are you here again?! Why are you following us? And don't try anything, we have you outnumbered!”

“Hey asshole, we're in a church don't disturb us!”

“Because you have stepped into my domain, and I watch over this domain as if I created this domain. The powers I possess and the creatures I command surpass the level of thought you have come to understand. As visitors of this domain I have the right to watch over you and ensure that your foolishness does not cloud your judgment of who I am. I am the Devil and God. I am the one who oversees and controls all aspects of this domain. Those who defy those aspects and regulations carried upon will suffer grave consequence, and that consequence is death,” said Shanol as he gave a sinister smirk towards the group. “You obviously lack intelligence to understand the simple thoughts that circulate in your mind. Thus I do not condone in meaningless violence, but if you simpletons wish to confront the very thing those in this domain fear, then your consequence for that is death. Prepare yourselves adventurers. Your death is to be your salvation,” said Shanol as his eyes suddenly began to flash with vibrant colors. The gravity, in which affected nonliving things, suddenly shifted causing the gravity to lighten the objects; therefore causing all non-living things to float.

Shanol unsheathed Destroyer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJXE7dGcQlk&src_vid=9A-amHipYmg&feature=iv&annotation_id=annotation_1971172251) and activated it and with this settled the blade upon his right shoulder; holding it in his right hand. Kit twitched her head to one side, listening. There was movement near the pointy roofed house...
She scanned the area with her eyes and watched a small group head inside. She frowned as one kicked open the door. Doors were handy, there was no need for that.
She then waited to see if Reapers would flock to them, and at first all seemed well for the strangers, well until the Cold-Man turned up.
That was her name for him. She'd never spoken to him, but the brief feeling she had sensed from him once many years ago; it was a well deserved name.
She ventured down from the Big P building with many rusted cars in it, clambering through the rubble as silently as she could. This was interesting. Cold-Man only ever seemed to get involved in things that would benefit him, at least that was what she could gather from observing him from as far away as she could get.
But with such a large gathering, against her better judgement, she ventured closer to him than she ever had before, to the building across the street.
There she waited to see what would happen. She listened to the voices shouting, and hoped Cold-Man wouldn't kill the others inside.

"Illogical, Impotent, Idiotic," Gestalt spat back, the speaker on his suit warping his already metallic voice. "You fit all of these. But invulnerable? A God? Hardly. Assessment: Mortal, biotically enhanced, impressively so, but still mortal." Something about Shanol really seemed to grind Gestalt's gears, pun intended. Perhaps it was his arrogance, or his continued bothering of him and his companions. More likely than either of these, was his wastage. It was how he took the gifts technology gave and squandered them on petty 'god-hood'. Gestalt intended to personally disable the stranger and rip the metallic parts from his flesh one by one, until only his mortal frame remained, and them kill him with his own devices.

The missile, having been deflected from its initial target, arced through the night air to correct its course. As Gestalt spoke, it turned itself around and sped back the way it had came. A single line of code redirected its course, planting it in the ground three meters behind Shanol, a flare and a puff of dust all that ensued. Then a click came and half a second later it exploded. This was a detonation usually meant to punch through nearly a meter of solid steel and other forms of armor, to melt it to slag so the secondary charge could detonate inside of the crew cabin. Another fourth second later, the secondary charge would detonate. The combined force, only mitigated by loose soil and rocks, would be like a combination of twenty frag and napalm grenades all going off at once.

While this whole exchange taken under a couple of seconds, Gestalt had no intention of standing still. The nulled gravity wasn't so much a problem for him as a factor to be counted in. Triggering his jump jets, he flew up into the air, unimpeded by the scant remains of the Chapel's ceiling. Wheeling around, he came up behind the Stranger and let loose another three missiles (fragmentation ammo) to bracket the area around Shanol.

Shanol, having been caught off guard by the sudden change in the trajectory in the missile, did not take into the account the remote movement of the warhead thus seeing the warhead jam itself into the ground three meters from behind and explode on, perhaps, contact. Shanol was engulfed in flames, but was even further engulfed by the sudden secondary charge of the secondary mode of the explosive causing the area around Shanol to erupt into fire. However Shanol only barely anticipated the secondary donation as he created a spherical shield that covered his entire body. However the triquary-volley of warheads had caught Shanol off guard even more and with this Shanol was sent flying across the half portioning of the church; his skin red or even a deeper shade of red. Shanol pulled himself to his feet as he looked towards the person who had attacked him, clothing ripped or torn from his skin. Shanol’s eyes glared with hatred as he slowly encased himself in machine that bare against his opponent as well as the machine the opponent was harboring.

“Don’t tempt me,” exclaimed Shanol as he confronted the individual with quick movements. Shanol strafed right, and then before leaping forward towards the mech, but was stopped by the sudden sound of arrogance and annoyance. He quickly turned his head and was greeted with light.

“A god?!! There is no other god than God himself! You are just a mere mortal just like me, them and everyone! But, your sins took away your faith. You shall not disturb these adventurers, be gone and repent!”

“As if,” exclaimed Shanol as he returned to his original form knowing that he wasn’t going to back down all because some arrogant fool told him too. “If you’re god then why do you speak and appear as one? You’re the false image of this GOD, WHEN IN REALITY I AM THE ONE WHO SHALL CONQUER THE SOIL OF THE FORBIDDEN LAND! IT IS I WHO SHALL CONSIDER THE POSSIBILITY OF THEIR BEING A GOD YOU HERETIC,” screamed Shanol as he became angered and frustrated. “I am not mortal nor am I a human. I am a god and therefore a mortal shall understand that concept,” said Shanol.

Demetric grabed Wasp who he had yet to reactivate after the changes. He then moved to grab some premade explosives. Natalia had already gotten her rifle and had aimed it at the stranger who claimed he was a god. Demetric knew his sister wouldnt shoot until she had a clear shot. She didn't want to risk hitting anybody. Her rifle packed a punch and at close range it was highly likely that if she were to hit one of there teammates they would either die or lose the use of whatever limb she hit. Demetric wasn't going to set off any high powered explosives either. He simple had a couple smoke bombs in his hand and was ready to use them if they needed a quick escape. In the desert, cloaked by the wind and the flying sands, something stirred...

Gestalt landed on the ground outside the cathedral, kicking up yet more dust and sand into the air. The lack of damage to the stranger (who called himself a god) bothered him. Regular mortal flesh should have been riddled with metal shards, not to mention be scorched close to bone depth. Yet the god-man looked as if he had only sat out in the sun for too long. It also concerned Gestalt that he was fantasizing about different ways he would dismantle the stranger. He considered it unlike and unworthy of himself to spend time thinking up such flights of fantasy. Of course, they wouldn't -be- fantasy if he went through with them, but it was taking up processing power (only about half a percent of his maximum capacity) that could be spent doing more useful things, like checking out the odd readings he was getting from out in the wastes.

"Assessment: New target, only 43% chance of being friendly. 78% Chance of 'Enemy of my Enemy' scenario. Attention Redirect: Alarming readings detected by third kilometer sensors, closing on present location at a rate of 50 kilometers per hour and rising. Seismic anomaly detected. Likely Cause: Creature, Class Gargantuan. Predatory nature 95% likelihood. Recommendation: Immediate evacuation." A faint rumbling underneath their feet began to presage the arrival of whatever it was. "Apology: Gargantuan Creature likely attracted by explosion of Armor-Piercing ordinance. Please, hold on tight." Reaching over with one of the suit's robotic arms (not occupied by a massive gun) he pulled her up off the ground and triggered his jump jets. A couple of seconds later a massive toothed maw burst out from the group where they'd been standing, mouth easily the size of the cathedral doors. It continued coming after them as the weight behind the head forced itself up into the air, revealing its long cylindrical body. A giant gut with teeth in effect. Unable to catch its rising prey, it arced its side, causing it to turn back towards the earth which Tyler stood up, intent on swallowing him.

((Well that was an ingloriously horrible idea. One that I shall not be repeating in any form, worm-like or otherwise.))

Gestalt came down on top of the Cathedrals front wall, one of the more stable bits. Even so, a few loose pieces of debris scattered to the ground below. Though he had thought that he'd grabbed ahold of Lisa before boosting off the ground, apparently someone else had grabbed her out from under him? He supposed that such weirdness could only be expected in a place such as this wastelands. Take, for instance, the giant worm with thousands of teeth which was currently burrowing its way back into the ground, leaving a bunch of rubble and no passageway in its wake. Apparently it'd decided that if the prey could put up that much of a fight, there were other, easier, things to eat. Not that the cuts and bullets had injured it overly much. It was too big to die just from that. But they'd hurt, and it didn't like being hurt.

So it was gone and the silence of night began to settle back in, sort of. Sections of the Cathedral had been heavily distabilized by the fighting, gravity warping (the hell was with that anyways?) and sudden entrance/exit of a giant creature. More than likely parts of it were going to be caving in soon. Speaking of which, hadn't Teegan gone off to sleep somewhere further in the structure? Tyler seemed to be working on that, so it'd probably be best not to bother. Descending from his perch with a flare of booster rockets, he stomped (hard not to in a two ton metal suit) his way over to the new stranger (a girl?) who was beckoning to the group at large.

"Query slash Statement: Before offer acceptance," he growled. "What is new target's primary designation? Quip: Unsafe to implicitly trust offers from unknown entities."

She pointed deeper into the city, where she knew there were a million great places to hide.
"I take you safe place, no Reapers find you. They come now, you too loud."
She then turned and scurried away, towards the other side of the street where she hunkered down in the rubble to reduce her presence. She waved to the figure to follow her
If they did, that would be great, if they didn't, they would die. The coming hoard of Reapers would eat up all their ammo and supplies til they had nothing left. And should close combat begin... they didn't stand a chance.

At first, Lindsey thought she was dreaming. The man that had confronted the group earlier had returned, it couldn't be possible. The shock of the warhead's explosion said otherwise. Gestalt moved along with the group, keeping his sensors open. Already he could detect the opening traces of the Reapers heading toward their previous position. It was still dark outside, but they'd simply have to hope that the one who called herself Kit could guide them. He wasn't entirely inclined to trust her, but it wasn't like he had much of a choice. The darkness around them was stifling, despite his sensory enhancement. It made him want to itch and scratch himself, yet he couldn't. There was simply no flesh left to perform either function. It didn't help that more Reaper icons were beginning to pop up within range of his sensors.

"Warning: Hostile entities advancing quickly to previous position. Prediction: Hostile entities likely able to track movements to current position. Recommendation: Increase movement speed." He'd turned down the volume on his speakers, as well as suppressing many on the exterior noise that the combat mech made. It still wasn't exactly quite, but it wouldn't be likely to project its position to those without keen hearing. She led them down what once were side streets and alleys, now thin paths between piles of rubble. It started to clear up a little, heading into what once must have been a residential area. There were a few walls still standing, one even had a full chimney and fireplace visible.
But she did not lead the group to them no, instead to a much larger, flatter, compound that had the remnants of a large wall and mangled iron gate around it.
Kit paused by an open section of the wall and scanned the area with her goggled eyes to see if there had been any recent disturbances in the rather open area.
When she found nothing, she flat out sprinted to the rubble at the centre of the old building, and waved the group over.
As they arrived, she shoved a piece of small rubble and old rags out of her way, revealing a depression with a large round handle upon it.
It was an old world bunker, built to withstand the nuclear blasts by a paranoid rich man. It's survival meant theirs, and that was something Kit was very grateful for.
She pulled and twisted the ring around, and pulled up the hatch. It was large enough for even a particularly fat person to fit through, but not big enough for the Mech.
Kit didn't use the ladder, she just dropped in to the darkness, vanishing from view.

She pulls herself off Tyler's back and smirks. "It's a fall-out shelter... C'mon, it's probably good to hide out in for at least a couple hours while we collect our bearings." She jumps down and rolls, hitting the ground softly with her shoulder which she quickly turns over so as to equally disperse the weight against her left side. She lets her body fall back to it's feet in a kneeling position. She then stands up and follows this stranger, her hand never leaving her pistol, in case of need for a quick draw. "Cold-man...? Is that the .. creature's name? Why does he stalk people?" She goes close to her, hoping that if she offers some sign of compassion, the women might grow less hostile. "Has he ever attacked you or someone you loved? We're from the Brotherhood; You're quite close to our city, we accept immigrants all the time; We can protect you if you help us."

Kit glanced at the stranger and frowned. The Cold-Man was hard to explain.
"Cold-Man is just name I have for Cold-Man. My family all die long time ago. My fault... I no careful."
Kit reached over to the wall, and pulled a large switch to engage the lights in the bunker. The illumination wasn't great, and it flickered every now and then, but it was enough.
Kit then turned and wandered over to one wall on the far side of the room, letting herself fall onto the thin mattress there. "You can stay here now. This safe place for people, thick walls."

I'll take that for 'ya," Reginald went to his master and Alex untied Lisa's supplies and puts it beside Lisa's mattress. Then, in exhaustion he sat down beside Lisa's mattress and asked Kit, "Hey Kit, can you take us to the City of the Lost Paladins? I believe some of my friends that had been sent outside Atlantus went there. Also, do you have any food? I need to feed Reginald,"

She goes and sits on a bunk, turning away from the group to face the blank wall, sneering at it as she reaches around her back for her knapsack. She pulls out a fine-tipped black marker and begins to write some seemingly random words on the wall. Paladins. Cold. Reapers. Demons. Gravity. Spies. Don't. Trust. The. Scavenger. Brotherhood. Mech. Sleep? Group. Arrogance. Leave. I don't know why they put me on this mission, Haven't they noticed I never opted for group missions before? This is why; they complicated what should have been an easy scavenging mission with their foolhardiness. I've got to get on my own, and fast. Before I join these rookies in an unmarked sand grave. Just like Dad. She runs her nails down the wall, chipping the paint so the writing is even less intelligible, and she looks rummages through her knapsack, making a mental checklist of her supplies.

"This some type of bunker?" She whistles softly for Kane to come to her and she pets him. She digs into get pack and gets a piece of jerky for him. "You're a good boy, Kane. Yes you are." She says while ruffling his fur behind his ear. Kane eats the jerky from her hand in one bite and settles at Lisa'a feet. She realized that Tyler had mentioned the City of Lost Paladins. "Wait... “Who is it?”

“Shall we attack?”

“Negative. Character is a moderate threat to host target.”

An elegantly dressed woman strode down a destroyed road with a robotic android following her on her heels; to the left of her mostly. This woman has kept to the shadows of the outside world, but ever since witnessing the current events that had transpired earlier in the night she couldn’t but feel sympathy for those travelers. This woman’s name was to be Seuthesuir Hilo, the Princess. Her eyes glossed across the darkness as she kept her eyes set on meeting this unknown person who seems to have caused STAID to warn her of this unknown person. A few paces of proper walking later she suddenly came to the unknown person and that person was to be none other than Shanol. Shanol was busy thinking of some sort of strategy for countering the travelers, but with that new member of their group it has become more and more likely that Shanol has finally met his match. However Shanol himself wasn’t ready to face that fact. Seuthesuir looked at Shanol wondering who Shanol was and what was he doing out her in the cold of night. Shanol felt the presence of Seuthesuir and with this looked over his shoulder towards her, “Who are you,” his body now facing in her direction. She curtsied before her AI bowed showing a sign of greeting, “Hello there. I am Seuthesuir and this STAID. We’ve have come from a place not far from here. Our compound is not far from here either. If you are in need of shelter, rest assured we can give you a roof over your head…”

Shanol shook his head confused, “What’s the point? You obviously don’t know who I am!” Seuthesuir tilted her head, “Who are you then?”

It was not so much a question of -how- he got himself and the mech into the bunker. Rather, it was a matter of how he'd done it so quickly. Conceivably he could take it apart piece by piece and feed it through the hatch. But that would take hours, at least. The process would be hard to describe by any who chose to watch it, but it involved Gestalt's mechandrites and liberal interpretations of the laws of physics. He'd laid it out again, setting up some automated mechanism which bore a resemblance to a crustacean. Broadly speaking, it was an Auto-Repair drone. They'd had them all over the play back at Atalantys, but they'd look much more uniform and sleek. This seemed to be more an ammalgamation of useful tools that happened to move around on its own. He'd pulled it somewhere from his bag, though goodness only knew how it'd fit in it. While his attention was focused elsewhere, it began the process of mending the rends and tears in the chassis of the mech.

His attention, or rather a significant portion (87%) of it, was focused on Teegan. Perhaps because of her potential, she had become of special interest to him. He believed he was a good judge of potential. Several experiences had backed this belief up previously. So when he looked at Teegan, he could be reasonably sure that the girl had many reserves which were as of yet untapped. She was already considerably skilled, that was true. But there was so much more behind that. Humans, even well trained ones, only ever used an average of fifteen percent of their brain's power at any given time. Another forty percent was accounted for by memory, the running of bodily systems, and instinct. With proper bionic enhancement, she would be able to use nearly ninety percent of her brain as he could. Of course, unless she received a full new body as he had, she would need some of it for bodily functions. But Gestalt would not mind the small sacrifice of efficiency necessary, if it meant he could cause her to utilize the rest.

As such it bothered him when he saw danger to her potential on the horizon. In particular, she was acting erratically, not mechanical. She was not acting in the way which had intrigued him originally. That was unacceptable. He could tell that she was a loner. It was pretty obvious at the way she chafed at their company, the others conversation. The drawing on the wall in particular was a picture into her mind, even if she -did- try to scuff the writing out. Walking up behind her, he folded his mechandrites along his arms. They served multiple purposes. Keyboard, armor, weapons, tools, you name it. Right now he was not sure of what he'd need them for, only that he would.

"Statement, Quotation: 'You wear your heart on your sleeve'," he spoke quietly, unthreatening if such was possible with such a robotic tone. "Observation: Not efficient. Wasteful. Drastic change from mood at mission start. Observation #2: Chain of command undefined. Statement: Despite C.o.C ambiguity, desertion from main Brotherhood excursion group unacceptable. Attempted desertion will be met with all possible resistance. Query: Compliance with original mission perogatives?"

Lisa thinks about what Alex had said. They would need shelter, supplies, and all that. She also considers the risks that Tyler had stated. She mentally made a pro-con list as she braided her hair out of her face. She kne that there would be a lot of risks entering a place such as the City. But she also knew that the benefits would have to outweigh the risks in order for everyone to be okay with traveling there.

"You both are right." She says finally as she ties off her braid. "But in this case, the benefits do outweigh the risks. We should go. If there's anymore people out here like the guy with the god complex, we need all the help we can get. That city is the place to get that help." Lisa looks at the others. She carefully observed each member of the group in turn, able to look without looking with her increased sight, and listened in on each conversation with her advanced hearing also.
It was somewhat comforting to hear new voices, but she was so used to silence, it made her a little uncomfortable and self-conscious too.
She eventually stood and kicked open a door into a smaller room used for storage. It contained blankets, a few spare sleeping rolls, and many tins of food.
She grabbed a box full and an old camping stove that she'd repaired, and brought it out to the group.
Opening some of the cans with her knife, she heated the contents, mostly soup or stew, and offered the food to her current companions.
"I no much food, but if you go far places, you need it."

Her lip twitches and she does not turn to face Gestalt, looking ahead. "What use is dead weight? Besides.." She looks at her bicep, where the marks from the Hisser acid still shows, white against her slightly tanned skin. "I'm getting too old for this shit. They act like teenagers and I can't even wake up when the building explodes around me, apparently." This statement is pretty bizarre considering she's only 21. She pulls out one of her daggers and absentmindedly carves some drawings into the walls: Various sorts of crude drawings of Reapers. "Trust me, My loyalties still remain to the Brotherhood, Gestalt. I'm no traitor."

She was too embarrassed to admit this, even if Alex already sort of knew. They had been best friends for the longest time. She could never pinpoint the exact time when she fell in love with him. The bunker was a nice change of scenery from the hostile wasteland. Lindsey hadn't seen anything like it before, such a solid structure built underground was not a very common sight. The bunker's thick walls and hidden location were betraying though. If someone were to find it and get the door open, they were done for. Several well placed grenades, or any kind of explosive or flammable liquid would spell death. Someone being so well armed finding the bunker was highly unlikely of course, but it was habit for Lindsey to look at things from a tactical standpoint.

Having slept all the way to the bunker in Tyler's arms, she felt rested enough. Her high was also gone, but she didn't feel the need for more at the moment. Lindsey found herself exploring the small bunker, familiarizing herself with the temporary shelter. She stumbled upon Teegan, who was writing on the walls. Lindsey found it odd, and furthermore did not understand many of the words that she was writing in the wall; reading was not one of Lindsey's strengths. The tribe she came from focused more on oral stories and traditions than text. Her time with The Brotherhood had helped her learn to read a little bit, but not much. From the corner of her eye she saw Gestalt approaching. The robotic human made her feel uneasy, she didn't really understand what he, or it, was. Seeing that he was going to speak with Teegan led Lindsey to avoid the two completely.

The others began talking about wishes. Lindsey found the idea rather absurd. It seemed like a juvenile method of trying to forget about the situation at hand. If someone had dreams or aspirations, it was better to seek after them than talk about them, or at least that was her opinion.

Finally, Lindsey looked at Kit. She didn't know what to make of the scavenger. She had helped them escape a particularly bad situation, but her willingness to help was almost too good to be true. She could have brought the travelers to the bunker to make them easy pickings for a larger scavenger party. Lindsey didn't want to look a gift horse in the mouth, but it never hurt to be weary of the people one met.

Lindsey grabbed her machine gun and made her way to the ladder. Some fresh air would be nice, and it was necessary to have some kind of security at all times.

"I'm going to keep an eye on things outside," Lindsey stated, not waiting for a reply as she climbed the ladder.

Lindsey found an overlook position in a nearby two story building. Most of it had fallen, but Lindsey was able to climb up and find a semi concealed position that gave her a good eye of incoming threats to the front of the bunker's entrance.

"They'll do a whip-round for flowers, and any part of you they find gets dumped in a mass grave with your commrades. Your widow, your children... They get the most kind thing the Brotherhood would ever offer: Their insistance that the Brotherhood is gonna save us, that they are leading the good fight. And that you're old man would have wanted you to join up, what do you say, son?" The territory was getting riskier, and she knew better than to openly offend the Brotherhood..

She'd left before he really got a chance to respond. Her words run false in his noise-receptors. Scans showed her heart rate was heightened, extra nerves were firing in her brain. Biologically, her fight or flight response would be firing. There was a high probability that she would choose flight. He'd considered going after her, to make sure she wouldn't run. But the odds were against him. If she left, then it meant she had never truly been committed to the group. At some point, if she hadn't left, she would have either deserted at a critical moment or betrayed them outright. Better then that she left while the group was safe. Executing her was out of the question. No one else would believe him and it would cause more division. However, if she came back, it'd prove him wrong. A bad situation all around.

What really bothered him though, was her accusation regarding his humanity. He remembered the day he'd lost his mortal body... He remembered how it not been his fault...

It was a live fire exercise, one of their first ever. All the training and practicing with blanks and ammo filled with paint rounds had been meant to lead up to this. The top group of initiates, the ones who had either scored the highest on the readiness tests or had proved their mettle outside of it, were split into two teams. Both had the same objective, bring down their first Reaper. It wasn't considered an overly dangerous exercise, as there were instructors all over the fabricated arena and there was a one to five ratio of Reapers to humans. Still, that didn't mean you could go in guns blazing. They'd learned that the hard way.

Things had started out well. Gestalt's team had split themselves up into two five man fireteams, one heavy weapon per group. They were leap-frogging each other, moving from one destination to the next in pursuit of the trail a Spitter had left. Despite their caution, they missed the hints. In retrospect they were fairly obvious. There were more acid drips than one could expect from one lone Spitter. They'd been so focused on the acid that they'd missed the claw marks. Scans had been blinded by a proliferation of magnitized metal lying around in heaps. Next thing they new, they were covered in a pack of Protars while the Spitters rained down from above. The fight had been hard, dangerous, and admittedly satisfying.

When it was over, there had been no deaths on their part. A couple of maimings, one serious Spitter wound to another Initiate's face. Gestalt had gone over to a Protar corpse, to make sure it was dead. As it happened, it wasn't. It had twitched and tried to rise at him. Another Initiate, face, nameless, armed with a grenade launcher and HE ammo, was still twitchy from the fight. It had sounded like a throaty cough, then a clink of metal on stone, and then the world had been consumed by fire.

The next time he awoke, he'd been in agony, unable to see, hear, smell, taste, or feel except for the incisions made by the surgeons who were desperately trying to preserve his life. Then it had gone dark again...

And when he awoke once more, he found his whole world seen through eyes that weren't his.

Did they have to be such a depressing bunch?
She wandered back into the storage room and brought out a funny looking box. She lifted the lid of the francophone and cranked the handle before setting the needle.
"You all so sad and boring. You not dead yet, you should have more fun."
The slightly grainy tune echoed in the bunker, cheery and ancient. These people probably hadn't heard music like this in their lives. The last people to hear it, long dead by many hundreds of years.

"I am human, no matter what they say...," he mutters to himself. Alex's hand on his shoulder didn't seem to have been received well. It reminded him too much of... well, things that he hadn't thought about in a while. There had been someone else, at some point, who had often done something similar. But he couldn't remember, not very well. It was before his memory processors had been clipped in, before he'd been given better, more accurate, sight than he had been physically born with. Despite his mood, the music did interest him.

Moving over to the sound-box, he kneeled down and began to manipulate a set of his mechandrites. The protective cover was removed in short order, revealing the mechanisms inside. It was a simple design, crude perhaps, but very durable. That much at least was obvious. After all, it still worked after all this time and abuse. Some of the wires were corroded or loose in their sockets, and the moving components hadn't been oiled in a long time. Both were quick adjustments. The music stopped for a short moment, followed by a series of clicks. Then it started up again. This time the music was perfectly pitched and clear. Now Gestalt could appreciate the tune's finesse without being bothered by the malfunctions. Securing the protective face back to its sockets, he stood up and gave a small smile.

She nods to Gestalt as he improved the sound. "Thank you, Gestalt." She turns her attention back to Alex as she had him spin her. "I hope this isn't out last time dancing. It's be a shame of it was." He asked Lisa, he only wears the mask to recover his face for Lisa only. But he felt like his face is almost fully recovered, he danced along the music and suddenly he changed the song to a slow, harmony song that people used to dance with it at a prom.

Shanol was preoccupied; searching for those adventurers to at least get a beat on their position. There were several trails that were very misleading and could result in his death at some point. He was tired and was in need of rest, but at this point he wasn’t going to allow the circumstances fall in their favor. Until a particular scent reached Wraith’s nostrils; Shanol was caught off guard by this sudden development and had ordered Wraith to follow the scent. Shanol could feel his heart race, not of passion or romance, but the thrill of the hunt. He hadn’t hunted down any adventurers who ventured out here in the wasteland. It was certainly a surprise for him.

Shanol saw the woman whom he had deemed a plausible target sitting amongst some rubble watching the sunrise waiting for something… Or someone…

Shanol swooped down and landed a few yards away tightening his grip upon Revere; which was on his right hip. He slowly walked towards the woman knowing he and she had a past that couldn’t be explained in words. He eyed the woman cautiously as he came up to her, his eyes and tone serious, “What are you doing at here all on your own…?”

Even after the accident." She slows downs her dancing to match the music as she takes off his mask, smiling at his healing face. She never reacted to his disfigured face. Only once, but that was the first time she saw his face burnt. And even then it was only from shock. she sets down the mask next to his stuff. "You know... I like seeing your real face. It's a nice change, Alex." she smiles at him as she dances with him closely.

She glances at him and then looks back at the horizon. Her brow is slightly furrowed and her lips tightened, as if she just smelt something unpleasant. Her fingers which were loosely on her pistol tighten as her body tenses slightly. "I like being alone. I thought you'd have noticed it by now.. Hmpfh, maybe even understood, if you even have knowledge of how human concepts. Which I don't reckon you do."

Other than the noticeable automated reactions to his presence, she doesn't assume a particularly hostile or defensive stance, and other than her words she doesn't engage with him otherwise, his eyes only having darted to him to put a face to the voice.

"I do wonder... why have you been following us around? Do you get your rocks off on thinking you're some kind of deity? Do you just like stalking people? I know the reason you've gave but I reckon it's a load of crock."

Shanol found a place to sit; off to the woman’s left. Shanol’s smile was devious and malicious, “Because I was created for the sole purpose of destroying this world and creating a new one… That is what my creators wanted this power for; to rule the world and reap it for all its riches. However that didn’t come to pass for I had free-will; free-will that could kill.” His smile died slightly, “You and your companions are trespassers and have defiled my authority without the substances of reason. However you seem to fit my parameters quite nicely so you are free from my divine justice upon the sinners.” He turned his towards the horizon, his smile fully dying to a mere blank face, “If you join me in my endeavors I will ensure there is to be redemption for your past… Your mother was one of the few people who cared for my existence… She was one of those on the team that created me… However I spared her, but I am unaware of where she is presently…” He needed to weave his story so that he could have her for himself, her body was the properly figured and Shanol felt sexually aroused by the scene.

“Please do join me,” said Shanol as he slipped a small sinister smile, “Your ability will help push my agenda and that is to create a new world out of this distraught one and rule said world like a god…”

Scanners didn't lie. They could be blocked, misguided, fooled, but they didn't lie. What the scanners were telling Gestalt right now was that the self proclaimed 'god' had arrived in the vicinity. More specifically, he was directly outside, where Teegan was. With his current suspicions about her loyalty, this put Gestalt ill at ease. What's more, the fact that he was not detecting any weapon discharges, or the activation of that strange technology the 'god'-man had used earlier pointed to a lack of hostility. That was definitely bad. Cooperation was not to be tolerated with one of such arrogance and stupidity. Standing up straight, he hurried over to the mech.

"Alert: Hostile forces detected in close proximity," he voiced to his 'companions'. "Recommendation: Immediate deployment. Repel intruder. Destroy imminent threat." The arm of the mech came apart under the manipulation of his mechandrites, to be encased around his own arm like a second skin. A few short seconds later, the rest of the suit was disassembled and combined into his own physical form, only the main chassis and unloaded rotator cannon being left unused.

Positioning himself under the hatch, Gestalt activated his boost rockets. This sent him shooting out from the open hatchway, to land on top of the bunker with a heavy metallic thud. Turning his head towards Shannol, he activated his Energy Blades. "Chastisement: Members of the Brotherhood not to cohort with threats to Brotherhood security Initiate Teegan," he said coldly. Lindsey found herself watching Teegan more than the surrounding area. The girl was very peculiar. Lindsey couldn't figure out why she was going through mood swings. At first she used expertise and maturity as a way to distance herself from the others, but when she was on her own she was completely different. Writing on walls, clawing said wall, pulling a knife on a squad mate over a simple touch. These weren't traits of an experienced warrior, but rather an emotional wreck that can't move on from something in her past. If she was going to set off on her own it could benefit the team. Lindsey knew all to well that emotional instability was an a chaotic weapon.

The appearance of the 'cold man' as Kit put it was unexpected. The flying hound that was his mount must be an excellent hunter. It would be a marvelous trophy if Lindsey were hunting it. The man riding it would not be pleased if she killed it though, and his power was something she did not understand. Maybe even something that she would fear of it weren't for the fact that she considered herself already dead.

She had the drop on him though. If Lindsey pulled the trigger she could end the man's life. Teegan might become a casualty though. The sharp click of the safety on her machine gun was the answer to that predicament. Placing her finger on the trigger she began a steady breathing pattern, waiting for the right moment. Her sights were lined up to hit Cold Man dead in the chest, the rise of her gun firing a short burst would send four to six rounds into his sternum up to his head. The first two rounds would hit Teegan in the arm and shoulder.

Just as Lindsey was about to take pull the trigger, she paused. Something occurred to her.

Kit had set them up. She had come so conveniently after the second visit of Cold Man, and led them to an underground dungeon. Teegan's involvement in the whole ordeal was a bit of a mystery to Lindsey. She could be part of the conspiracy or just a victim.

For the moment, Lindsey decided to wait and observe. She would need to move closer though. She quietly took her weapon and slipped away from her hidden position, quietly making her way to another hidden position that was closer to the bunker entrance.

“Looks like your decision will have to wait until a better time are to be reached,” Shanol said as he slowly stood to his feet and turned his head towards the intruder who interrupted their conversation. It was to be the same machine from earlier in the night it and with this he narrowed his eyes, “So you come and show your face once again eh,” questioned Shanol as he turned his body towards the machine. Shanol slowly reached behind him for Destroyer and with this slowly unsheathed the energy blade, activating and settling the non-energy portion of the blade upon his right shoulder; since he was holding it in his right hand. Seuthesuir slowly came out the shadows walking as elegantly as humanly possible; however her body was machine so it would have surpassed the level of capacity a human could perform. She came to Shanol and tapped him on the shoulder, and with this Shanol looked over his shoulder; wondering who that could be.

Shanol’s eyes lit up in slightly shock, but more or less astonishment, “How were you able to find me?” Seuthesuir peeled a tracking device off Shanol’s back, and showed it to him. Shanol shook his head as he took the tracking device and threw somewhere north of where he was standing. “I don’t care anymore! What are you doing here anyway,” questioned Shanol as he kept his body forward; eyes glued on his opponent. “I wished to speak with these adventurers for I hear there plights are to be ambiguous in nature,” said Seuthesuir as she witnessed STAID walk up from behind her and stand in front of Shanol as if the AI was taking Shanol’s place. Shanol backed off slightly dumbfounded by this woman’s endeavors, “What are you doing?” “Taking your place… You obviously need that woman so do take her with you and head to my compound to the north… You won’t miss it,” Seuthesuir said as she returned her attention to Shanol’s longed rival.

STAID prepared for combat as his stance solidified. Every missile in its silo slotted into its tube, all primed to specific target tracking, namely on Shannol, Wraith, Teegan, the new woman, and her machine companion. She reaches round to her knapsack and pulls out one of the pipe bombs that was nestled at the bottom. She lights the very long fuse and watches them converge closer and closer, until the six that were delegated to her and Shanol are bunched together heading towards them, still at a range of twenty feet behind them and closing in fast. This action caused Kit's eyes to change from their normal hazel, to a bluish-white that practically glowed.
She managed to send one pulse in their direction, possibly catching the Cold-Man in her haste, before they were too far away.

The missiles performed unsatisfactorily, all things told. Of the approximately ninety launched, none seemed to have found their mark. That was not to say that they didn't turn most of the surrounding cityscape into rubble more akin to stream pebbles than structures, but rather that they couldn't see to hit what they'd actually been aimed at. Perhaps it was to expected. Most of them were quite old, from before the time of the Brotherhood. Some might say that them not blowing up in the tube was a technological success. Gestalt was not so easily satisfied.

Behind him, the now spent main chassis of the mech plummeted and impacted the roof of the bunker with a metallic clang. He didn't really seem to notice. The expenditure of so much (most if not all) of his available of his explosive ordinance had muffled his sensors. It would take a minute or two to filter out completely and by then the traitor and her cohorts would be gone. Jerkily, he moved from his position and sat down on the nearest boulder. Shanol nodded, but before he could react instinctively he witnessed the woman throw a makeshift pipe-bomb behind them causing two missiles to explode. Shrapnel had zipped through the air and with this had penetrated Shanol’s body in several places before ordering Wraith to do a complete nose-dive. Shanol grunted in pain as he used whatever strength he could muster as he ordered the hybrid to pull up; thus it did, though it was fast and unexpected. Shanol jerked back softly before leaning forward as Wraith came close weaving pass desolated buildings and coming to a wealthy stop. The beast landed upon the ground safely, but Shanol was a different matter. Shanol fell over onto the ground with a heavy thud, lying there; unmoving and slightly cold. He knew full well that he could take this, but he needed some sleep… Just a little…

Seuthesuir and STAID eventually caught up with them. STAID settled the young woman down upon the tattered concrete and slowly made her way over to the woman and Shanol, “He doesn’t seem to be doing well… I have medical equipment at the compound if you come with me… We may just save this non-human’s life… STAID.” STAID stepped passed Seuthesuir and picked up Shanol carrying him by the shoulder and waited for further orders before moving, “Come,” said Seuthesuir, “You have much to tell and little time to tell it…”

He said, fists and teeth ckenched, as he growled under his breath. A traitor. He couldnt fucking believe it. All that... ''FOR NOTHING!"

Seuthesuir, once she had arrived at the bunker, lifted her right hand into the air slowly; releasing the latches on the bunker doors and revealing an elongated downward staircase. “Come let us move on… We have a little ways to move before there is to be rest and treatment,” said Seuthesuir as she descended the staircase knowing full well of what was at the end of this staircase. STAID followed behind the mechanical woman without a word of reference to Teegan’s presence whatsoever. Shanol on the other hand was slowly healing; faster than a normal human, but not faster than one might come to expect. Shanol did have heightened regenerated properties, but it was only half a tier higher than a human’s regenerate properties. The shrapnel that had punctured his skin were starting to expel themselves out of his body, but a very slow rate. Shanol was still unconscious.

Seuthesuir led the woman down into the bunker; with the doors closing behind them revealing lights that were dim, but bright enough to see where one was stepping. Seuthesuir once made it to the bottom of the staircase arrived at another set of doors and with this opened them the same way she did the previous doors. The set of doors opened outward towards them and revealed a well-furnished environment that seemed to fit for a king. She turned towards the woman and gestured inside, “Welcome to my palace…”

Lindsey had the drop on Shanol and Teegan. They would have been quick kills had it not been for their hasty flight and the concussive force of the many old warheads exploding. The blast rocked Lindsey, causing her to stagger and fall to the ground. When she looked up, they were gone. She mentally berated herself for not shooting earlier. If given a similar chance, she would not make the same mistake.

Anger and frustration were not adequate words to express what Lindsey was feeling. They had just further aggravated an enemy that kept stalking them, and she fully believed that Kit had sold them out. That, coupled with pangs of withdrawals put the woman on edge. As the others scrambled for supplies and other things, Lindsey jumped on top of Kit.

Before the two hit the ground. She had pulled her large knife and was holding it above her head with a steady grip. She had used this weapon a lot, that was obvious from her body language.

"You brought us here for Cold Man!" She screamed, "You come after failed attack and bring us to kill zone. You knew he would come! You trick us! You work with him! I kill you!"

Lindsey's speech seemed to worsen, returning to the level of speaking she had from before her time with the Brotherhood. Her rage seemed to be the cause. None of that helped Kit's case. Lindsey had only one thought in her mind at the moment: kill.

She enters inside, but only because the doors had solidly closed behind her. Why'd it have to be another bunker.. Her muteness had not ceased however, and she stands in the most bare spot she can find with her hands idly resting on her holsters, not letting her eyes leave this strange woman for one moment. When suddenly she hears the sound of metal smashing against the ground is the only time she breaks eye contact, and when she notices that it is a result of a piece of shrapnel expelling from his body, she curses. "Soddin' Hell!" She then remembers where she was and her stance shifts back from one of surprise to a more aggressive one. I'm out-gunned, out-numbered, and out-casted. Underground. Locked in. If this goes badly, I'm pretty screwed.

Gestalt gets up and clanks off after his remaining brethren, out of the path of the walking city. For now he remained silent, processing recent events. The level of destruction he'd unleashed had seem rather drastic when he'd decided to engage it, but now it seemed like spitting at a brick wall. He'd need even more powerful weaponry in order to bring the Godman down and execute Teegan for her heresy. Perhaps plasma weaponry. He didn't have the tech on hand in order to fabricate it. The Brotherhood held onto what few pieces of such technology that they had with a fervor that lapsed into obsession. There was no way that they'd ever let him have some of it out in the field. Whole strike teams had been sacrificed on the merest hint of its whereabouts.

Lisa grabs Lindsey and throws her off of Kit. "She didn't know, Lindsey. She was just as surprised as all of us. Maybe Teegan led him here. We just don't know." She states calmly, standing between the two girls. Lisa looks over at Tyler. "Noone could have seen this coming. We need to stick together, now more than ever. We've been off in our own groups, separating ourselves from each other. We can't do that anymore. United we will stand. Separated, we will fail. Now. We need more supplies. The City of Lost Paladins is our best chance. Those who do not want to go can stay here or head back to our home. Choose now. I'll be heading to the city. Anyone who wants to join, do so." She picks up her suppiles, looking everyone in the eyes. She wasn't one for speeches but this one seemed necessary.

Kit's eyes brimmed with tears, terror upon her face.
"I not know!" She cried, "Cold-Man is enemy! He kill me same as any of you! He is the Abyss! I know, I feel it! I feel what people feel, and he feels nothing! He will use your friend, and when he has what he wants... he will kill her. Too many die, I only want to help you live! I not want to be alone anymore!"
Kit scrambled up and stepped back, fear still upon her face.
"I just not want to bury more people anymore... I just wanted to talk to someone, anyone... I lose everything, I alone for so long. I have nothing..."
Tears fell as she looked at Lindsey, her lip trembling. However old she may be, in this moment she was practically reduced to a child.

Alex waved his hands to the City and it stopped moving. "Well, Lisa's right. But she gave three options, I'll give four. Choose, follow us into the city or stay or head back to Atlantus and tell them that you suck at some shit or leave us, leave the Ascended Squad ALONE!" He is indeed mad to Teegan but it's her choice to be a traitor. He have betrayed people in his life but eventually Alex came back to the people he betrayed.

Alex walked towards Lisa, "I'm going," Alex stood calmly. Then, Mathias walked slowly towards the two of them and takes his skeletal scythe from his back and wields it at hand, "Actually, I'm not Brethren. But I am one of you, so I'm following as well,"

Snow braced against a wall as the city came to a sudden stop. Sighing softly, he picked up his pack and turned to Angel. "What do you say we go meet the new comers?"

His AI looked uneasy, rubbing her arm and looking at the ground. "What if they're hostile though..." Snow chuckled and put a hand on her shoulder. "You're just shy when it comes to new people. Alright, we'll sit back and watch and see if they're aggressive or not." He hopped on top of some boxes and onto the roof of the small building, turning and helping Angel up with him.

“Soddin' Hell!”

Seuthesuir stared towards the woman for a second before shaking off her confusion and returning to the sight that beheld her. She slowly stepped inside, with Teegan in toe, and closed the doors behind knowing it was comfortable to return home. Some comfortable music (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=un94Q8e7FOA&index=13&list=FLh6Lyg81MK3EUgGgDTlaMnA) was being played in the background; serving as ambient music. She sat down upon a comfortable chair and crossed her legs; right over the left. She gestured for STAID to begin the medical process on Shanol. STAID walked off into another room off behind her and went to work on Shanol; slowly pulling out the shrapnel and placing it in a tray.

Seuthesuir gestured towards the female, “Come sit. You are a guest here and the fact of the matter is that you are welcomed here… You have abandoned those whom seem to take advantage of you, and joined the righteous side…” Seuthesuir she eyed the woman carefully, “Now tell me your name young woman? And what is to be your history in this wasteland?”

Teegan takes the seat that is offered to her, and while her hands are no longer on her holsters, they are rigid with tension and hang awkwardly as she rests her forearms on her knees. Her pose is certainly less lady-like than the woman's, with her legs slightly spread and her back hunched over, her shoulders set back. And for the first time her eyes rest on the woman.

"I won't give you any information until you provide me the same answers. And I don't believe I have joined a side yet, rather simply left one to.... " There's a noticeable shift in her body language, her legs closing and her hands folding on her lap. Anyone with scanners would notice the slight raise in her blood pressure and the dilation of her pupils. ".. pursue a new angle in my interests." The words come out carefully, each syllable carefully tested.

"All pawns are to be used, it's just how chess works. You might be the white queen and him the king, but the colors don't matter, since we're all the same pieces. The higher-ranks... and the pawns. There's no good and evil in chess. It's just a game to those who move the pieces. Are you a player or a piece?" For the bitterness of her words, her voice stays quite monotone, perhaps a little icy. After all the heightened emotions of the past few days, she was slowly gravitating back to her coolness.

I've really, really got to stop talking back to the people who are holding all the cards right now.

Lindsey did everything she could to not lash out at Lisa. She let out a cry of frustration instead of pursuing Kit. Then, she sheathed her knife and glared at the whimpering scavenger. She saw something I get that she has felt years ago. Defeat was a bitter thing to accept. It hurt you in every way. Emotionally, physically, and mentally.

She was completely convinced of Kit's innocence, but for the moment they needed get on with things.

"Fine," Lindsey muttered, "let's get away from this place."

Lisa smiles as Alex, Mathias, and Lindsey opted to stay. She relaxes a little and just barely touches Alex's hand for support. She looks at Kit. "Hey..." She says to her kindly. "You can stay with us. You helped us. We'll help you. Don't worry about Lindsey, Kit. She's upset about what happened, we all are. But it's not you're fault." She holds out her other hand towards Kit. "Wanna come?"

"I will be your companion, your sword, your friend, and your protector, your Aegis."

"This is the First and Greatest doctrine of the Brotherhood." Gestalt strode faster to catch up with the group. Delicately he reached out and placed a hand on Kit's shoulder. It was a feather light touch, not at all restrictive, more comforting, despite the cold metal the gauntlet was composed of. "There is no need for you, or any other Citizen of the Wastes to be alone or afraid any longer. With the completion of our mission, the Brotherhood will stride forth into the wasteland and reclaim the birthright of humanity. It will be hard and long, perhaps decades or maybe even centuries in scope. But one day this land will belong to Mankind, more so than it ever did in the Old World. Because -this- time, we will have seen the folly of abusing our home and will never make the mistakes our forebearers did." He removed his gauntlet from her shoulder and indicated the walking city.

"If nothing else, I believe in that great destiny. Come with me, with us, with the Brotherhood, to realize it."

Tyler would have shot Lindsay twice before she ended her speech, but he decided to wait. Looking at the others, he growles under his breath before getting up. "Lets just regroup and go. HellJumper Squad or shit... " He turned to the newcomer. "So, will you join us? We are going to kill every last one of them..." He sais, with his now usual cheery smile on.

Shit, how much had happened?

Alex looked back at 'em, "Hey, anymore comin'?" Alex asked if anymore people are coming with them. Then, he looked at Kit the lone Scavenger. He looked at her knowing how does it feel being accused of something we didn't do. He looked at Lindsey, a former-tribeswoman. He felt Lindsey's anger of someone betrayal, leaving the good ones for a personal cause.

Alex says the Brotherhood's Creed aloud, "Stay loyal, vigilant and be courageous. For our Brethrens fight for a good cause, never to betray, never to slay innocents. Love, loyalty, passion, courage, honor and bravery is what we're purely made of. Brethrens do not fight for their personal goal, but for the good of others." Alex finished said the Creed, and looked at Kit again, "That's our Creed or pledge, the Brotherhood only cares about honor, love, bravery, passion and most important, LOYALTY. So, join us,"

Kit wiped her eyes and glanced around at the group.
"I... I not know if I be much help, but I want try." She half-smiled and looked over at the walking city.
"I know something about that place already. There is someone watching us from there. I can feel them."
She held out her palm to the city, and tried to get a sense of what the person may be feeling, but it was vague and fuzzy, still to far for her to determine correctly.
She looked back at the city she'd lived alone in for so many years, and turned from it to walk a new path.
