A dark and dank set of woods help shadow out a old and ancient cemetery. Long forgotten by the living and not up kept. The air is think and heavy, with no breezes passing through it, the air seems distilled and old itself. Light never can protrude the tall trees due to their massive number and thickness, at best the light can be described as "moon light". Tombs, crypts, and external stone caskets litter the area as well with smaller headstones.

The trees themselves are massively huge in both height and diameter. Their roots grow in every direction, even protrude out the ground in various areas. In the center of the cemetery looks like a well, but is actually a tomb of a ancient warrior. It is rumored that the graves of those around this spot are his fellow warriors, and the similar crypts, tombs, and external stone caskets may be his most trusted companions.

Anyone that comes across this area can't help but see ghostly figures walking around the area, some without legs, arms, or their heads. One second they will be their than they disappear. Voices can be heard as well, yet inaudible. The constant feeling of being watched, and the random touch on your body with nothing around are common. Often times the sound of swords clashing on shields and swords, the noise of battling men and women can be heard, and if you're lucky enough, seen as well.

Nothing is known about this graveyard as stated before, thou thanks to the symbols on various stones and graves, even words written on them depict many as warriors and adventures. It could be a ancient battle ground, or once part of a town that no longer exists, but one thing is known, the dead still live in this area and they are not at rest.

A single pixie, dressed in bright red, stood up from among the dirt. He looked around - this place was unfamiliar. The pixie flew up, and let out an almost inaudible squeak, sounding like a question. Immediately, many pixies flew up, and circled around the pixie. This must have been their king. The pixies whispered, and thousands of voices were heard, all speaking like a group of teenagers who are in charge of planning a school trip. They were confused. Alarmed. Some pixies seemed to examine the nearby fauna and gravestones. Some seemed to shudder while looking around.

Suddenly, a small sound was heard. The pixies turned around, and saw a human. They immediately darted towards the ground, hiding in whatever spot that they could find - trees, dirt, even behind graves. Soon, the only remaining sigh of any activity in the area was the single pixie king, who bravely stood his ground. He floated, rapidly moving to be ready for escape, if he so had to. He awaited the human to wake up, and held his hand in an upwards position.

He was ready.

Sebastian awoke from an unnatural slumber with the words, "Father Beschermer, guard my being and soul; Mother Heilige, lift my spirits away from darkness." leaving his lips as he stood up; the reflexive prayer one he had repeated every time he awoke since the first time he awoke within the cage, though he forgot almost as soon as the words left his mouth, infuriatingly. As he blinked the sleep from his eyes he realized that he was in a place other than that despicable cage—in what looked like a graveyard, in the limited light. Shaking his head, he stood up and looked around, searching for the source of the sounds of battle and voices that he heard faintly. He saw nothing of interest, however, before a flash of vibrant red caught his attention, and he focused upon the small creature floating bravely above an old and rotted stump. As recognition at what the creature was entered his mind, he said, "You must be my opponent..." warily.

For now, all that he heard was a strange unintelligible whispering and a few faint sounds of clashing blades. This compelled him to look around the graveyard once more, taking in more details than he had originally done as he had awoken. With the recognition that he was in holy land desecrated by time, he drew his sword and in one fluid movement stuck the tip into the earth, knelt, and bowed his head with the prayer, "May the gods strengthen my will and fortify my mind against the unholiness of this forsaken place and may the light shield my soul from the darkness." When he arose once more, he felt secure in the knowledge that his gods would support his righteous battle this day—or was it night here?

The single pixie reacted by instinct. As the human stuck his blade into the earth, a large hiss could be heard, composed of all the pixies reacting. Even this meaningless action, sticking a sword in the ground, was still an insult to the group. This "tournament" they were taken to was all a sick game. But if this was their opponent, they would fight. The group used the small, almost insignificant insult to their advantage, convincing themselves that if the human wasn't killed, he would start destroying more of this fauna.

The king performed a strange action with his hand, and the pixies moved around him. If the paladin could see them, he'd now see a form of creepy creatures, ready for battle. In a flurry of colours, the big group formed into a big creature, resembling more of a human with horns than anything. This newly acquired form seemed to move like a single being, like a single mind. It flashed in vibrant colours, all of them different. The pixies stood and examined their foe carefully. Some pixies were floating above the new form, seemingly because they didn't get a place with the others. With union, the pixies spoke, their voice sounding as one. "If you're truly a warrior, then come forth. Let's see if your gods have enough power to help such a disgrace.".

Meanwhile, a small group of pixies, almost unnoticeable, flied to another location. They found a small, broken off piece of a gravestone, picked it up with union, and flied up towards the sky. Soon, they were no longer visible. Whatever they were up to, it seemed like they were harmless for now.

Sebastion raised his blade at the hissing of the multitudes of pixies, watching them come out of hiding and creating something larger than themselves. When the human-like form was finished and spoke, he smiled.

"Me--a disgrace? Ha, there are none before me in honor or prestige in the light of my gods. Their strength is absolute! You may have numbers, but can you get through holy steel?" He said as he hit his breastplate with his left arm, a loud clang from his armor echoing through the trees, accompanied by more ghostly clashes.

Though he couldn't remember much of his past, he felt in his heart-of-hearts that his gods favored him the most out of all of their followers. Regardless, he needed to focus on the here and now, rather than the missing past. Raising his sword, he charged towards the pixies in front of him while ignoring the shrubbery and smaller roots in his path, crushing them with his heavy foot-falls. Though he did try to avoid the worst patches of entangling roots and lower tombstones ripe for tripping, he wanted to get to his opponent as soon as possible and give divine punishment to the godless creatures for their disrespect.

"Fear the wrath of the gods, and may they have mercy on your souls!" He shouted as he charged through a particularity large bush in between him and his target, his sword and shield raised for battle; his armor glinting and sending glints of light through around the surroundings sporadically with his movements.

As the two, the pixies and the warrior established themselves for battle. A heavy feel of dread came from a nearby crypt. The sides of this crypt gave visual aids, which could be seen as exploits of the fallen warrior the lay within. One said visual showed the warrior fighting a very large man that was covered in armor while the smaller man only had his sword and basic clothing. Another showed him standing alone on a battlefield littered with the dead, most likely a major battle long forgotten. One side was worn, but the third depiction showed the unknown warrior fighting a creature with multiple heads, fierce claws and massive wings.

A heavy and thick fog started to seep out of this crypt followed by a heavy voice speaking in a unknown language. The voice itself was booming and forceful in tone alone. Slowly, a apparition appeared to crawl out of the crypt as if the top was removed. As the apparition stood, it held a sword with one hand. The sword itself was nearly 7 feet long from hilt to the tip of the blade. The figure came into focus to show a man that couldn't be more that 27 years of age, with a strong well tone tan body with muscles that couldn't be explained simply by viewing. The man must have been a spectacle to see when he was alive fore he only wore armor on his legs and was topless, minus the bracers he had on each wrist.

Holding his sword straight over his head, the tip pointing straight up to the top of the trees, the figure spoke again, his voice still booming and aggressive as it was earlier. When he was done speaking, he pointed his sword at both the group of pixies and the warrior that charged the pixie mass. The warrior's eyes began to burn with a fire that only another warrior could see. He was wanting to battle.

A deep and disturbing boom came from the center of the forest graveyard, as the same sight of heavy thick fog came seeping out of another crypt. This crypt was very different from the other that was seen, for it was round and looked like a well to draw water if you saw it from afar. A crown could be seen at the top of this special crypt, as well as flowing and complex designs that told the individual looking at it that the person within was a very special person, who lived a very eventful life. Various visual depictions showed the man in various situations, fighting off hordes of enemies, bring peace to some, and fighting off creatures that one couldn't fathom.

No booming voice echoed out of this crypt, but a man did appear as a ghostly figure walked out of it as if the crypt was a door. Slowly the new apparition came into focus to show a well figured man, slim yet muscular, with a crown on his head, clad in both scale male and full plate armor. With a shield in his left hand, and a longsword in his right. The crowned man pointed his blade at the apparition that appeared just a few moments before. The eyes of the crowned man spoke the words of warning, as if to say "Do not interfere."

The previous man gave a wicked smile as he charged both the group of Pixies and the Warrior that charged them. His sword held with one hand, his legs carrying him faster than a horse could run. As he got within range of both the warrior and pixies, he swung his sword wide but disappointment fail as the crowned man appeared as if he was already standing there, blocking the attack from the other flawlessly.

As soon as the Paladin started running, the pixies started whispering. Not one voice this time, but many solitary hushes. Soon, an apparition came forth. The shirtless lunatic attempted to attack them, and seemed to also be aiming for the crazed fanatic about to tackle them. Soon another apparition came forth, decorated with a crown made of the material that humans thirst for. It luckily stopped the other one, blocking it's attacks towards the two. However, by all reason, it seemed that it only wanted the Paladin and the swarm to fight uninterrupted. It didn't even think about interrupting this fight. Oh, and the Paladin was still attacking the pixies. Why, just why are humans so damn aggressive? This was even further confirmed with the strange visual thingies that showed people fighting. It seemed as every single human that the pixies ever saw was some lunatic. Perhaps this was because the pixies never really saw any peaceful soul in their forest... speaking of which, where were the pixies anyway? Could there be any way to escape?

Thousands of voices were racing through the swarm, made by each and every one of the pixies. The king made an aggressive action with his hand, and all noise subsided. The charging warrior seemed to be angry over the small insult. Just as planned. The king had seen more than one religious fanatic in his life, and knew how to make them foolishly advance. If only there was a god that actually liked trees. Then the swarms kill count would be a bit smaller. As the Paladin came closer and closer, the pixies stood in place. One more second now..

As he came close enough to swing a blade, but still slightly out of reach, the big mass of pixies making up the creature fell down backwards. Some slow and old pixies and one foolish little pixie who decided to charge the warrior himself and whom no-one really liked were left to the wrath of the warrior, acting as a distraction and most likely being crushed by his speed. It was survival of the fittest and pixies knew this. They accepted their fate, helping the other pixies win. This took some pixies away, though. The creature would become smaller.

As soon as the bigger swarm of pixies touched the murky mud and dirt of the graveyard, the pile broke down into many patches of light, half of which dissipated. Another half flied through the Paladins legs, and pushed him together, from behind. The speed of his charge combined with a push should in all sense make him fall down. After this small action, all of the pixies flew back together, forming the creature again, this time behind the Paladin. The king in the center of the group waved his hand, and the earlier piece of gravestone fell from the sky. It was falling nearby the Paladin, hopefully at least scraping him. Some pixies flew down from the sky to join the others.

As the apparition from before foolishly attempted to attack the fighters, the pixies started forming another plan. They might just have to focus on the ghostly king next.

Sebastian's pace only faltered slightly when he felt the first wave of darkness, but the gods' blessings didn't falter in strength and helped stifle the fear that was caused by such darkness. He saw the two figures out of the sides of his eyes, but was too focused on his opponents at the moment to try to think of what they foretold. He was already in range to attack, and as his sword glided through the mass of pixies it separated and only a few of them where killed, unable to stop his blade from tearing their little bodies apart.

Then he felt a push from behind which threw him forwards faster than he wanted, and an inopportunely placed tombstone caught his foot. Reacting was the best he could do, as he tried to send himself into a roll to end up back on his feet. The force of his roll caused another of the small shrubs to be crushed underneath his weight however he was still on his feet, crouched.

"Do you really believe that such a move will get the best of me? Sebastian, the most holy of paladins ever?!" He laughed, regaining his standing stance. "You will never kill me, for the light of the gods reside within both my soul and my armor!" He finished, taking a few steps towards the pixies, in their now smaller form.

He heard a faint whistling sound from above, and looked up just in time to see what looked to be a tombstone fragment falling from the sky, right toward him. Raising his shield, he was just able to deflect the stone harmlessly to the side, though at the cost of both a dented shield and a dislocated shoulder. "Gods Damn it!" He shouted, dropping to his knees, sword impaled into the turf, his now-free hand grabbing his shoulder.

He looked up to his opponents, smiled, and said, "You sneaky little buggers, the gods of chaos must favor you." then he looked to the two battling specters made real, and recognition blasted through his soul. The king... that crown... He knew that crown. Pain forced its way through his being as a simple and useless memory of being in the presence of that crown in his past. "My liege..." Sebastian whispered, before another wave of pain wracked his body, and the memory fled, though the feeling of respect and loyalty remained for the figure with the crown.

As the two, the pixie and the paladin, kept fighting, the crowned apparition couldn't help but look at the warrior that spoke to him, that left a opening. The barbaric apparition swung it's blade, knocking the crowned one's shield out of his hand, the shield flew through the air and disappeared as if it was made of smoke. It dissipated just before it hit the ground. The crowned one grew angry, as he turned to face the barbaric apparition, he wasn't where he stood. The barbaric one took his chance to move towards the paladin. The crowned apparition wasn't in a position to block the possible attack from the more barbaric apparition.

The barbaric one swung his sword up in the air, its point aiming towards the sky and back down with a ferocious and highly aggressive manner. "I AM KING!" The barbaric one spoke in a understandable voice thanks to the paladin speaking. Before the barbaric one's swing could land, the crowned one threw his sword, as the blade spun through the air, it managed to deflect the barbaric one's deadly swing, causing the oversized blade to land just behind the paladin's foot. The crowned one's blade went flying through the air, disappearing just like the shield, turning to smoke and than becoming nothing.

The barbaric one glared at the crowned one with intent to kill. The crowned one shook his head in a "no" fashion. Saying once more in a nonverbal way "don't interfere". The barbaric one grew more angry, charging at the crowned one holding his large sword in a reverse grip in his left hand, swinging the blade in a diagonal slash, trying to cut the crowned one in half with a titanic swing the moved the air. Some how, the crowned one sidestepped the attack, taking a note out of the pixies hand book, pushing the barbaric one, causing him to lose balance and fall over on his side.

Out of the shadows came laughter, and what one could call taunts in other languages long forgotten, as if both battles were being watched by those who laid buried underground and a memory long removed from time. Some figures could be seen in the distance, disfigured, without mass, standing in the wings slowly coming into focus. More and more appeared. The laughter faded as the barbaric one let out a yell of frustration and pride. Springing to his feet, he threw his blade at the crowned one. The crowned one once more sidestepped the blade, but doing so, sent the blade flying through the air towards the body of pixies.

The barbaric one weaponless, the crowned one charged removing his crown from his head, and swung it, catching the side of the barbaric one's head, several of the points in the crown driving themselves with the barbaric one's head, causing the barbaric one to fade away like the shield and sword of the crowned one moments later.

The crowned one turned around to see the barbaric one's blade still flying through the air towards the pixies. The mass of figures still can be seen and many are coming into focus, weapons at the ready, wanting to charge the crowned one or the two combatants.

(I won't post again until the end of the battle to say who will progress on. I am not sure how the one that progresses on will get to post again on if they decide to let the other live or they kill them. I'll figure that out and let you all know. FIGHT ON!)

Well well well. Things were starting to heat up. Now, the pixies needed to think about their ne-
Suddenly, a blade came flying towards the mass. It flied through the mass, carrying away with itself a lot of pixies. Who did this!? Was it the paladin!? Damn the humans!

In a rage, the pixies franctically looked around to see the source of the blade. Seeing none, they decided to follow up with their plan. They started to charge at the king to infuriate the paladin, since he seemed to be close to him. But soon, figures appeared, ready to charge at the king... Or the two fighters, it seemed. This would be a hard one to avoid peacefully. The pixies needed shelter, but also needed to beat their combatant. The king waves his arm in a flamboyish manner. Some scared whispers were heard, but only briefly.

Soon, the mass of pixies started charging at the paladin, attempting to use their magical shield to absorb any attempts to hit them, but pretty much failing at it, due to their speed. Once they would get close enough, they would dissipate into many little swarms, and attempt to get in the paladins armour, through all the gapes and holes they could find. One of the swarms would aim for the mouth. Once inside, they would claw the paladin as much as they can, while at the same time protect themselves from any harm the ghosts could cause them. Two birds with one... pixie, i guess.

Many pixies would probably die here. And the plan wouldn't nescessarily even work. But they didn't care. They were mad. And so, with the plan in their head...

They charged at the paladin.

Gritting his teeth through the pain, Sebastian twisted his damaged arm around until it popped back into place with an immediate lessening of the pain. He stood up shakily, leaning against the sword still impaled into the earth. That taken care of, he turned toward the pixies just in time to see them charge the king, falter, then charge towards him. Sighing, Sebastian pulled the sword free, swinging it a few times from momentum, and readied it for battle. While he mentally prepared himself for this conflict to continue on, he registered the phantoms readying for battle.

A cold shock of fear forced its way down his spine, but he forced himself to ignore it in favor of the impending assault by the currently maniac pixies. He saw the mass split, and realized what they had planned almost too late, with him swinging at the mass.

"You will not get past my steel, you unrighteous creatures! Repent! And the gods may save you!" Sebastian cried, feeling his sword bounce around a little from their shields, rending unlucky ones in two. His damaged arm was his Achilles heel, as he couldn't protect his face properly; the pixies that tried for his face were able to get close enough to start causing cuts and impede his vision.

In a moment of blind panic, he started moving erratically, trying to use everything he had to an advantage: his size, the chain-mail holding the open gaps of his armor closed, and the sharp decorative silver feathers as weapons. With the shear amount of pixies clouding his vision, his foot found another tombstone, and he fell to his knees once more. Hoping to cause even more damage, even in his blinded state, he threw himself the rest of the way to the ground, and began rolling, covering his face as best he could with his injured arm and swinging wildly with his blade.

The Fate Twister

Well, at least they did some damage.

As the swarm collided with the paladin, he immediately started swinging his sword - some pixies were slaughtered. Then, he fell on his knees and started rolling around. In this blind rage, would he hear the crunches? Because there were a lot of them. More than half the pixies died, leaving only the few lucky pixies alive. The king was not one of them.

The rest of the pixies flied up, and stayed there for a bit, confused. They then realized that their leader was gone, and started moving frantically around, attempting to piece together some kind of a plan... Without their leader, they were helpless. They couldn't form a good plan anymore! A few pixies flied away to hide, thinking that they were doomed - the rest, screaming, went back towards the paladin, squirming on the ground. They started quickly tearing his plate armour apart, many getting slashed by his moving sword. Some of them tried once again to aim for the face, this time climbing into his ears.

This was starting to look hopeless. But the battle wasn't over - the apparitions of the ancient warriors were still closing in, and while the group in the offence was doomed, the cowardly pixies still remained - sure, they would be called cowards back home, assuming they survived, but they could still avenge their king. They would simply have to play the waiting game. The morale was getting low.

Sebastian felt the survivors leave him be for a moment, and he took the time to wipe his eyes clear of the blood that had clouded his vision from the many small cuts and bites from around his face. Spitting some more blood out of his mouth--both his and a few pixies'--, along with a few pixie body-parts, he looked for the rest of them. As he lay on the ground, he examined his armor with his hands, looking for loosened straps and unbuckled buckles. Finding quite a few, he tried tightening them as best he could with his injured arm, but knew that if they tried, the pixies would be able to remove his armor.

Just as he had regained a kneeling position, he spotted the remaining pixies splitting apart again, this time, some headed for the attack, and others who-knew-where. "Curse you unrelenting pixies!" He cried, swinging himself to his feet once more, blade whistling through the air and rending more of the advancing pixies before they surrounded him once more.

He felt small hands brushing the barely tightened straps on his armor and started thrashing once more, causing pain in his shoulder. His sword still whistled through the air, only stopping when he stepped to close to a tree and the blade bit into the old wood. Grunting from surprise, Sebastian again fell to the ground, this time backwards. His helmeted head slammed into a still standing tombstone and it broke around him, his eyes becoming unfocused from the hit and the ringing of the silver. This also caused him to halt in his movements as he was dazed, allowing the surviving pixies working on his armor to work several straps and an entire chunk of his chain-mail off. Feeling pain on his injured arm's pit, he acted reflexively and attempted to crush the pixie that had cut him on the soft flesh of his underarm.

The pain cleared his mind a little, and he started thrashing once more; killing several pixies with the erratic movements. Then the pixies that aimed for his head reached, and started attacking his ears. "You wish me to become deaf?!" Sebastian roared, slapping himself upside the head with his open sword hand hard enough for him to see stars, all in the attempt to stop the attack.

Okay for the total count between the two of you......

demonstalker : Total score is..... 93/135

The Fate Twister : Total score is..... 101/135

The Fate Twister is the winner!!! The reason for this is because demonstalker was on the defensive for pretty much the entire battle and didn't use the environment to his advantage. Thou you did play the environment against your character which was great, I applaud you for that, most people would never purposely place their character in a position to get harmed. Granted both of you did great and would like to see the battle continue since it actually was entertaining, but rules are rules so I had to grade you both. Don't let this discourage either of you, or think that the other is better than you in any way, you both did great jobs, you both made very good posts, but only one can advance.

Feel free to double check my math, I just started a job where I work 10 1/2 hours a day all week so please forgive me if my math is off.

The resistance was proving tough - but the pixies didn't stop. They continued their attack in a fit of rage, uncaring of new casualties. Many got into the paladin's ears, getting inside him that way. Others pulled out the armour plating, clawing hard at the flesh below. The paladin was a goner.

The pixies who managed to get inside the paladin navigated through his body in a quick succession, clawing and tearing their way to the heart. When they reached it, they clawed at it just enough so that the paladin would slosly die of internal bleeding. After they were done, the pixies exited the paladin's system, now covered in blood. The ones on outside finished ripping the paladins armour off, and left him vulnerable. They gathered together, and whispered some times. The pixies who were hiding came out too, ashamed.

After all the pixies were finished, and a new commander was elected, this time the pixie who led the pixies inside the body, they decided to leave the cowardly pixies to watch the dying paladin, in case he escaped before death, or before the apparitions got to him. If they died, so be it. If not, they could come back to whatever place the other pixies gathered more troops into their swarm. Ultimately, the paladin would learn a valuable lesson for his next life.

Many are better than one.
