Bondage of Blood

http://i.imgur.com/uBKG3LG.png?1

Long ago within the lands of Lhazenvania there was once a great city known for its beauty, Uhrstad. A booming and bustling center of trade Uhrstad was considered to be a the first country of a new generation. Having done away with their monarchy it became a city where anyone could rise up, at least that was what most would say. Many thought of Lhazenvania as a land the gods had blessed, yet they would not mention the horrid plagues that constantly spread throughout the land. With their origin unknown some believed Uhrstad was not blessed but instead cursed. In the distance travelers could see the city's bright lights yet citizens only saw darkness in all directions. As those outside of its borders began to look up to this beacon in dark times its people began to look down on what they considered ants. With their great resources and highly advanced weaponry Lhazenvania expanded conquering nearby kingdoms which could not put up enough of a resistance. Colonies formed which all answered to the Prime Minister, foreigners were snatched and forced into servitude. Rebellion after rebellion rose only to be crushed beneath the heal of this giant, a monster feeding on the world.

Then one days the armies of Lhazenvania all pulled back to their city. Neighboring lands overthrew what opposition remained then turned their sights on revenge only to discover a horrid truth. Uhrstad was cursed. Terrifying horrors infested Uhrstad and its land, horrors so abominable armies were useless. When it became a worry that these creatures would spread a new type of monster appeared, Hunters. Whether the hunters managed to exterminate the vermin is not known as all contact with Lhazenvania was lost soon after their appearance. The skies around Uhrstad turned indigo, their sea and river black, as mists rolled down from the mountains and throughout the forests. Those who tried to enter this forbidden land would never return. Yet this did not stop attempts. Every now and then a king, queen, or other noble would offer a reward for a safe way into Uhrstad or for spoils from its vaults. Adventurers were known to sail or ride into Lhazenvania only to vanish. Despite how miraculous the technology of Lhazenvania was it was forbidden in all lands. Many considered their attempt at attaining godhood to be a sin, especially the church spoke out against the wicked craft of Uhrstad. Hunters became legendary, as they were said to say in Lhazenvania meaning outsiders only witnessed them in writing and paintings.

Again groups are searching for ways into Lhazenvania. Some want its riches while others want to know merely what secrets and horrors have befallen this land and its people. In your dreams the city has been appearing, calling out to you by name. Those lights in the distance becoming so vivid they almost seem real. Even when looking up to the stars at night your eyes feel drawn in the direction of Uhrstad. A foreigner to its lands, do you dare take the plunge and discover what lies waiting for your arrival?

Player Name: Eddren
Character Name: Dezeroth
Gender(s): Male
Sexuality: Hetero
Age: 29

Appearance: Dezeroth is not generally considered to be exceedingly handsome. His body is gaunt, not lithe, though he moves with a certain strength about him that suggests that his thin demeanor is not due to a lack of muscle. He is tall, and extremely pale--Likely from rarely getting out. In addition, he almost always hides his face, so few know what it looks like. Though those who do say that it is deceptive. His visage appears youthful, almost mischievous with a smile that constantly hides at the edge of his lips. It never disappears, even when angered, and starkly contrasts the coldness of his eyes. He has three missing molars, though they are not distinctly obvious even if he were to smile, and his left cheek is heavily scarred from what appears to be a variety of small animals.
Eye Color: One green, one green with half of it losing pigment, resulting in it appearing to be red.
Hair Color: Black
Weight: 140"
Height: 6'11"

Attire: Justicar's Outfit
Weapons: Knife, Bloodthirster
Gear: Blood Vial
Inventory:
Blood Liters: 5.5

Dreams: Dezeroth dreams of Godhood.
Nightmares: Losing control over his life, and becoming a thrall to another.
Purpose: To discover--And possibly control--The forces behind the disappearing travelers.

History: Dezeroth was born to a poor family, too busy to watch over both he and his brother at all times. For this reason, he became a sort of guardian for his twin brother, going so far as to even save his life once. This became increasingly necessary, as his mother soon died of the plague just a few short years later, leaving his father to raise the two. With little money to spend and no time to dedicate to them, his father decided to give them up to the church, who would raise them in the faith of the Unknown Gods.

...Dezeroth looks up at his Father, silently. He doesn't want to leave home--To leave his father--But he knows that they'll all just starve to death if he doesn't. Silently, he curses having to be poor....

Forced into an unfamiliar environment, Dezeroth quickly adapts, soon befriending a young priest-in-training, Davis. His brother, however, disappeared in his early teenage years. Likewise, his father died off from a mysterious disease, leaving the child the last remaining carrier of his bloodline. However, this didn't bother him much, and he instead focused more on his studies, and socializing with his friend. Years later, however, his friend lay on his death-bed, struck with a seemingly incurable disease. Forced to confront that his faith did not have the necessary answers, he instead turned to a local Alchemist.

...He could feel an itching feeling--A deep-set idea that this woman was somehow dangerous. That this place was dangerous. But this was his friend--And he had to help him....After hearing his desperation she walked around her devices and removed from the coat on the wall what looked like a weapon. It was small, it looked like a blood red vial with a needle on one end and metal circles on the other...

She gave him a cure of sorts, and he managed to apply it without getting caught. However, by this time it was too late, and the cure was unable to stop the infection from spreading. His friend had died. Quickly, they discovered a puncture wound and semi-correctly surmised it must have been the work of the alchemist. Dezeroth, hoping to save the alchemist from his own mistake, attempted to warn her. However, when she escaped, she caused a great deal of collateral damage--including a bite wound on the man himself, which culminated in one half-red eye.

...The head priest pointed directly at Dezeroth in horror, then demanded the alchemist let him go free. She was behind him so swiftly and yet without making a sound. A whisper hit his ears, "You'll thank me." Rather than getting to talk down the crowd an immense pain hit the young man as she bit into the side of his neck drawing blood. It was incredibly painful, but he could still breath, she didn't bite deep only enough to draw blood...

Though he had lost his friend, Dezeroth endured, continuing on to outlive the Head Priest. With a new Head Priest necessary, the priests and nuns sent a group out--Including Dezeroth--On a pilgrimage. Along the way, many died and the rest lost hope.

During the travel one of the nuns jumped overboard while screaming about hearing voices calling to her. Upon fishing her body out they discovered she had suffocated under the water and her body had rapidly bloated.

Dezeroth, however, made it successfully to the forbidden city. Upon its' docks, the ship he rode mysteriously disappeared, and only one nun apparently made landfall--bisected, and holding the same cure used when his friend Davis had died that fateful night. A pair of red gleaming eyes looked on him from the darkness, and as he assumed that they must belong to the Alchemist, he was surprised when a strange woman instead slew him.

...Things became more clear, his altered eye saw a different truth. It was as if two figures were standing within each other. The Alchemist a phantom, within her a woman wearing blood covered justacorps with a powdered wig.
Home Life: Dezeroth has no family, though a great deal would call him friend. He lived as a scholar and tutor, teaching the young for those who would pay, and recording accounts when he could not afford to live off of tutoring. While not working, however, he remained behind closed doors, researching any forbidden secret he could find--Including the history of certain forbidden lands.

He was sitting, back to the wall, desperately trying to defog the lens of his glasses. Rain had splattered over them, and the other part of the frame was cracked. He also wasn't very tall. He didn't have the presence of an intimidating man, in fact he seemed quite the opposite, charming, handsome, how had he made it this far? The question would remain a mystery.

Gender(s):
Male

Sexuality:
Asexual

Age:
34

Appearance:
Night came sooner then expected. Damn the layoffs they'd had to do. Profits were never the best, but they'd hit a low recently, and quite a few other workers had to be kicked out. He should be thankful that he kept his job, but it was hard to feel lucky when you were forced to do the extra work. But right now, he needed to navigate the night. He'd managed to evade the common thieves and brigands that lurked in the streets.
Strange - a pile of ragged cloth lied on the side of the street. It was visibly dirty, and he could notice, with a grimace, a few bloodstains of dried blood here and there. He pushed it out of his mind - he had to get home. He'd mess up sometime, and he wanted to keep a hold of his meagre wage. Passing by the pile, he heard a rustling behind him. Sounded like cloth...
Swinging the piece of wood, it smacked into the back of the mans skull. Falling over, he jumped on top of the stricken man, sending the makeshift club into the mans head again. Content that the man was unconscious with his hair wet with his own blood, he began rifling through his pockets, pulling out anything of value. He let out a cough, placing the few valuables the man had into one of the pouches in the depths of the many layers of rags held together by friction more then anything else. Swinging at the mans skull again, he did so until he heard the sound of cracking bone as he caved in his skull. Tossing aside the piece of wood into the street, he shuffled off, looking for another street or alley to skulk in.

Eye Color:
Brown

Hair Color:
Black

Nightmares:
To have all the atrocities he committed be for no good reason.

Purpose:
A desperate mans last attempt to break from poverty.

History: (Leave Blank for now, when you post your character sheet in the thread you and I will create your character's history together.)

World Information

http://i.imgur.com/k4iEbQT.jpg?1

World information will actually be mostly blank at the start. Here I will put information that you the players glean over time, that way you won't have to keep too many notes of things to keep track of. If you meet an NPC, I'll put them in here for example with a basic description in case you forget who they are. Weapons, armor/clothing, and item descriptions will go here as well when you find them. Keep in mind to outsiders much of the information on Lhazenvania and its people is either forbidden or lost to time.

Church of Saint Gottyn - A church formed in the recent century. It's teachings include the belief in reincarnation for pure souls and eternal damnation for the wicked as well as a form of polytheism. Followers of Saint Gottyn believe humans are born a blank slate and only they are to blame for their choices in life. As well it is a firm belief of Gottyn himself that Hunters were demons that sprung forth from the very nightmares of the sinful, Gottyn's followers have worked hard to suppress any knowledge of the technology used by Hunters and the people of Uhrstad. Occasionally the church sends pilgrims and missionaries to Lhazenvania for reasons known only to the high bishops.

Hunters - A mysterious and legendary group of beings. Hunters are on and off considered to be human depending upon who you ask. Despite there being a complete lack of evidence of the existence of Hunters many still believe in them. Mainly due to the large amount of paintings and literature depicting their hunts. It is said Hunters feast upon blood and eat the monsters they kill to gain their powers, yet such a heretical being surely could not exist.

Black Sea - The waters to the South of Lhazenvania have turned black and become inhospitable. No fish have ever been found in the waters and navigating these waters is considered to be incredibly difficult. Sailing too close to Uhrstad has resulted in the loss of many ships, people assume. No one actually knows what has happened to them. Sometimes the waters shift uncontrollably and can become so hot or cold they will freeze or burn a person on contact. These waters smell heavily of iron and copper, and are used to frighten children with stories of what hides in the depths.

Uhrstad - The city of Uhrstad, a massive and sprawling urban complex dotted with towers, castles, manors, factories, and all manner of industry and residence. Through the middle of Uhrstad is the Black River which feeds into the Black Sea. Across the river sits a massive bridge which was once considered one of the great wonders of the world. Sometimes during the cold weather people would see steam rising from the sewers beneath Uhrstad which span the entirety of the city. Dark alleys are a common sight with looming buildings high above casting shadows and blocking what little light can be found. Churches while rare do exist within Uhrstad, yet even before the fall of this mysterious city they were largely abandoned. The streets of Uhrstad were once filled with Lhazenvanians, carriages, and horses, but now the city is believed to be infested with creatures of ghastly origins. Channels also were in place about the city below the streets allowing for travel upon gondolas. There are many landmarks in Uhstad such as the Great Clock Tower, Yharn Cathedral, and the famous seaside Lhazen Castle.

Davis - Dezeroth's best friend during his stay at the church, Davis was a bit sinful but kind. Unfortunately he grew very ill while on a trip and died. Dezeroth injected him with the blood of a Hunter. Davis' fate is not truly known but something did escape from his grave and Davis' body was nowhere to be found.

Justicar of Behlit Leenn - Met by Dezeroth in the Church of Behlit, this devout followers of the mysterious god baptized Dezeroth and inducted him into the Justicars. It would seem she is very vague in her words and strict.

The Alchemist - The Alchemist is a dark haired Hunter, a woman that many would describe as mysterious and sexy. She appears skilled in the ways of crafting the devices of Uhrstad. It was her bite that first infected Dezeroth with the plague of Hunters, as well she gave him the vial that infected his close friend Davis.

Viv the Hunter of Days - Viv is a Hunter that was met by Willow. She is a woman from across the Southern Sea with dark brown skin and many scars. A large number of fangs fill her mouth and Viv appears to be a veteran Hunter. Commonly she appears dressed as a Hunter of Days and finds new Hunters to introduce to the life.

Secrets shall soon be revealed

http://i.imgur.com/RDD20hx.gif
Lhazenvanian Alley Defender - A simple pistol which is decently accurate. It can only fire one bullet at a time. The gun is quite plane but features a wolf's head carved into the butt. Normally the weapon is wielded by citizens who need to defend themselves in a pinch when ambushed in a dark alley. It is common to keep this weapon tucked inside of a jacket before drawing it to fire a bullet, usually to scare off an attacker. It's quite weak and designed for killing humans not monsters.

Basket Hilted Dragon - This weapon is considered a beauty within Lhazenvania, a blunderbuss in the for of a handgun with a basket hilt to protect the wielder's hand. While it has a lot of kickback it's power is great, reloading can take some time. Along the bottom and top of this gun are steel teeth which can be used to cut two inches into flesh, as well as bite onto weapons and hold them in place. The butt of this dragon is made of steel and it can be used as a bone shatter hammer when held properly. Dragons are a rare sight in this world and almost exclusively are made in Uhrstad where they are popular amongst criminals. The Basket Hilted Dragon is a weapon that was designed for hunting in urban environments.

Bloodthirster - It is said this weapon was first designed by an eccentric duelist in the marshes of Lhazenvania. This weapon does not fire normal bullets and is in fact incapable of doing so. Instead when blood enters the barrel of this gun it is crystallized and them may be fired by pulling back the hammer with one's thumb and pulling the trigger. Bloodthirster does not fire powerful rounds, in fact they are quite weak. Instead when in close proximity to an opponent the weapon can be fuelled entirely by their blood. Every time blood fills the barrel it is reloaded and can fire again. As well one may use their own blood to fuel it. The Bloodthirster is has a steel barrel with inscriptions on the side of serpents. The butt of the gun is made of a red processed wood while the trigger is made of silver.

Crimson Dancers - Crimson Dancers are a type of weapon that are considered bizarre even amongst hunters. While most weapons are held in the hand Crimson Dancers are a pair of red sabatons. They are highly flexible allowing for graceful if loud movement. These plate boots are sharpened along the sides to a fine point turning ones feet into a dagger-like weapon. At the toes is a blade that can extend out to the length of a knife and can retract when running or climbing. Along the back of the ankle vertically as well is a spine like blade with a hook at the bottom which can be used to grapple a target with the legs and hold on while attacking them with the other leg or arms. To hunters this weapon is considered a thing of beauty, in fact some use it in courting during group hunts to attract lovers interested in such fine movements. To the average Lhazenvanian it is merely another disgusting and unholy weapon of the hunters known for its viscera and keen edges.

Death's Hands - Another strange weapon, Death's Hands are two daggers with one being shorter than the other. They can be fixed together at the base of the grip creating an edged boomerang which will return to the thrower. Another way this weapon can work is to be slid into place side by side creating one dagger with two blades, in between which other weapons can be trapped. When in this form the weapons can split at the bade and act like scissors or suddenly pull apart to return to being two daggers. These weapons are called Death's Hands due to them resembling a minute and hour hand upon a clock. In some artists' paintings death is represented by a hunter wielding these weapons holding them over the head of the recently deceased. For an unknown reason there are small grooves along the blade that blood easily clings to, when sated with blood these blades will give off a red glow and vibrate improving their cutting power.

Destroyer - Destroyers are weapons so heavy that only a hunter can practically use one in combat. These long hammers have metal shafts that are thick allowing for the support of the large stone hammer head. When transforming this weapon comes apart revealing a spear within the hammer head that has a leaf blade for thrusting and cutting made of silver. When separated the hammer head can be left on the ground or due to the pole's thickness, a powerful hunter can stick their hand into the head's hole. Thus with one hand they may wield a long spear while with the other using their fist as a sledgehammer. Destroyers are so powerful that hunters sometimes use them to break through walls or iron gates while giving chase. King Oebrin was famously executed by a Destroyer during a parade by a hunter who believed him to be a beast. There were no remains left of Oebrin only a pulpy pink mess and a destroyed carriage. Shockingly the hunter escaped and was never found.

Fire Lance - Long ago the mysterious Logan a known magician was hired by the King of Uhrstad, King Seethe. King Seethe became enamored with Logan's wondrous tricks that used flames to dazzle guests. When asked of his secret Logan refused to tell, being a magician he couldn't. Even the King's torturers and hangman could not get a word out of Logan. What they did discover amongst his possessions was a mysterious black powders which the King's alchemists did their best to reproduce. Immediately it was used for warfare, but before guns became commonplace it was instead used in the making of Fire Lances. These weapons were long two handed lances for use on foot or horseback with a steel tip and a pipe just beneath. With the quick flick of the wrist at any point this weapon can unleash a spray of fire but takes time to reload. It may be used with one or two hands. The lance's pole is made of a processed wood that is as black as soot which has high resistance to fire.

Guillotine Grinder - One of the larger hunters' weapons, this large two handed axe has a broad head and a shaft made of an incredibly flexible wood. Because of the flexibility of the wood this weapon easily bends, to its advantage. A hunter may bend the weapon almost like a string does a bow, when releasing the built up energy the axe head will snap forward or backwards suddenly smashing into whatever is in the way heavily improving its cutting and crushing power. A common tactic for hunters to use with this weapon is to drag the head along the ground besides them bending the weapon. When releasing the power reserved it will swing upwards like an uppercut while also flinging up a vast amount of sparks from dragging on stone. Children are often warned that it is time to head inside at night by the sound of hunters dragging grinders through the streets looking for prey. The back of this axe's head is blunt and can be used as a hammer.

Hook Gun - The hook gun is one of the most relatively simple fire arms used by hunters. This pistol can be loaded with three bullets and fire three times before it must be reloaded. Reloading it is simple enough, but it does not have much firepower to it. Instead this is a gun that is supposed to be used in an odd way, at point blank. By using the hook just below the barrel a hunter can hang from a beast or even pull back steel armor. Thus this weapon can be used for climbing or staying in close quarters while firing bullets directly into the vitals of a foe. It only requires one hand to use and is often paired with another one handed weapon. Famously the hunter Gwendol climbed the back of a massive werewolf using two hook guns before planting a hook in each of its ears and firing six rounds into its eyes.

Hunter's Harp - A strange weapon that is hard to notice at first glance, the Hunter's Harp appears like a simple wire. This long wire can move silently through the air and is hard to detect without light shining directly upon it. When there is no slack in the wire it can effectively be used to cut or saw through flesh. The wire is so sharp that when set up as a trap unsuspecting prey can run through it only to discover too late the wire cut clean through their neck decapitating them. A weapon of grace, it is also used by the hunters to entertain themselves on sorrowful nights beneath the moon. When wrapped about the hand a skilled hunter can pluck the strings and play music that is chilling to a normal human but welcome to these heretical fiends.

Rifle Spade - Simple enough, this weapon appears to be a spade with a long pole. However with a twist of the shaft the serrated shovel head will split down the middle and open up turning the weapon into a pickaxe. Where the shovel head was will then rest the end of a gun barrel. A Rifle Spade can fire high power shots that can travel a great distance though outside of medium or short range it is highly inaccurate. Hunters of the grave favor this weapon as it can quickly turn from a tool into a weapon for fighting being buried yet not quite dead. When functioning as a spade it can also work as an axe due to the sharp edges. It does not take long to reload this weapon and on its but is an iron spike.

Shining Morning Star - A weapon so dangerous it is often associated with demons, the Shining Morning Star is a weapon that is capable of killing the wielder if used improperly. To the untrained eye it would appear as a normal spiked round headed mace, but to a hunter it is much more. At any time the mace head may be fired out of the steel pole a foot and a half before it will be anchored by the chain holding the weapon together. Rather suddenly it can go from a mace to a ball and chain mace. The head of this weapon can rocket out with such force that it can punch holes in bodies or knock off human heads in a single blow. A rather famous painting depicts a duel between hunters in which one has blown off the head of the other hunter with such a weapon. In the aftermath of the battle she stands basking beneath the fountain of his crimson life force mouth open.

Silver Saw-Tooth Sword - A long blade made of silver that can be held in one or two hands. this longsword's pommel features a twisted head of a wolf visibly in pain with its mouth open. The crossguard ends in spikes while the grip is made of roughly tied cloth soaked in blood. While to many this would look like an ordinary longsword this weapon listens to the command of a hunter and can transform. When transformed the long blade becomes serrated like a saw and can more easily cut through flesh while ripping it apart causing as much damage as possible. As well a skilled wielder can hold this weapon by the blade and use it as a spiked hammer. It is said that silver swords are holy weapons, and yet a monster such as a hunter can wield them.

Vampire Killer - The Vampire Killer is a weapon with a very innocent appearance. Normally it appears as a silver can with a wolf's head handle. Along the bottom are grooves leading to the spike at its point, at the midsection are etchings that draw the flow of blood should the cane be splashed towards the hands of the wielder. Normally it can be used as a cane for walking or beating a foe. When transformed the bulk of the cane detaches creating a large chain-whip made of segmented blades. It is as if a whip and a sword were made one and when the wielder wishes it can be completely straightened into a serrated sword. Momentum is this weapons greatest ally, as long as it is moving it can keep up an assault easily while disorienting a foe. When it passes through flesh the Vampire Killer causes a great deal of damage, ripping and tearing while drawing as much blood as possible. Some Hunters like to use this weapon to make music fro the cries of the beasts they strike, some refer to it as a symphony of the night. This weapon is called Vampire Killer since it was originally designed to be used for killing Vampires. It is still quite adept at this task, but ironically it is most often wielded by them as well.

Justicars of the Behlit - An ancient order of Uhrstad, said to have been around since the city's founding. Justicars are holy avengers that judge then execute foes. It is their sworn duty to kill those that seek too much knowledge and power. Hypocritically Justicars are allowed to hold such knowledge so they may know what is forbidden and what is not. Their common attire is a form of robe with cuts at the sides, front, and back to allow free movement of the legs. Their robes are of fine silk with the crest of a raven upon them. They wear long sleeved white gloves that are skin-tight as well as wearing a gray shawl commonly wrapped at the throat. Their feet are protected by knee high boots. Beneath their robes they wear simple but loose pants and shirts. Black hoods are used to cloak their heads. Only Justicars that have passed a sacred rite may gain the silver hook-beaked mask of Behlit, their god. It is said that Behlit is worshiped outside of Uhrstad by many churches that keep his secrets hidden. So sacred is his name that they dare not speak or teach it, to the point that many have forgotten they even worship Behlit. It is said that Behlit is the enemy of kings and friend of assassins.

Mortician - Morticians have always been in high demand in Lhazenvania. So often are there dead bodies to examine and drain the blood of that nearly every street would have a mortician during certain periods. Commonly they wore justacorps coats which were white with gray diamonds upon them. Powdered wigs made them easy to recognize. As well they'd wear gray gloves and matching trousers without pockets. The job of a mortician was a dangerous one, as those laying upon their tables were not always truly dead. It was a known fact that Hunters and morticians hated each other, with morticians often hiding at the sight of the monsters. Morticians are also considered strange within Uhrstad due to their knowledge of the human body and experience with seeing naked corpses. To Lhazenvanians the naked body is something to be ashamed of and is sinful to witness. As such morticians are often believed to be perverts when in general morticians just see naked corpses as objects rather than people.

Secrets shall soon be revealed

It is not too difficult to understand how interacting with the world and NPC's will work in Bondage of Blood. Simply put you control your character, not any NPC's, not any monsters you are fighting, not the world around you. Overcoming an obstacle is not as simple as just saying you do it, you have to make me believe you would. You can't just say you've figured out a puzzle, I'll provided information and descriptions while you have to actually attempt different ideas and figure it out. In combat I'll decide what hits, misses, the results of anything. Often times this means co-op posts can make things go a lot more smoothly. Also while I provide challenge I will also be doing my best to make things fair and enjoyable. I know smashing your head against unbelievably deadly monster after another is tedious and frustrating, if you are having any issue with the balance or calls I'm making let me know and I'll examine how things are going and possibly change things up.

Clyde please stop that. Also who uses a bag in bondage? But in either case I was just making a quick joke, there are a lot of reasons it is called Bondage of Blood. This is not a BDSM roleplay.

Also good to hear Meg.

This part:

For this RP when you make your character after it is accepted we will then play a little game.

So I make my character like normal then?

Tolvo
05-12-2015, 01:14 AM
What will basically happen is you will make your character, if I accept it then we will play a little game. It won't be overly complex, I'll just give you situations for your character at certain points in their life, to try and figure out what sort of life they've lived up to this point. It can almost be seen as a prologue for the RP, since during the game we'll lead into your character heading to Lhazenvania and their arrival there. After that when it is added to the sheet, the character will be complete and ready for play.

Mr.Cynic
05-12-2015, 01:15 AM

Megilwen
05-12-2015, 01:17 AM
So if I have no knowledge of Bloodborne that's fine right? Cause these whole transforming weapons thing I'm confused about...weapons can just change from a sword to a staff/or they have to be in a similar family of weapons?

Mr.Cynic
05-12-2015, 01:23 AM
^Meg actually has a good question. I haven't played the game either, but I wanted to. And a RP based off of it seemed okay.

Tolvo
05-12-2015, 01:24 AM
When you find the weapons they'll have descriptions of what they can transform into, as well in the descriptions I've given examples of uses of the weapon and maybe a trick or two with them. You don't need any knowledge of Bloodborne. If someone knows a lot about Bloodborne there are some things they can figure out more easily than others, but I'll have explanations and descriptions to help out. Like there are aspects of Hunters that are a mystery to players currently, and someone who knows about the games will know a good deal of them but I'm not just going to leave you out to dry if you don't know the game.

My god, Tolvo.
I've made a wasted opportunity.
If I find my character permanently dying...Well, I'm playing Dezeroth, so I probably won't permanently die. Just die a lot.
Anyway, if I do, then I'm playing a man wearing a skirt and slippers, and that's it. He'll refuse to wear armor, and any time that he awakens, he must immediately clean his clothes. The rest of him might be filthy, but he will be of the Order of the Immaculate Skirt.

Tolvo

Ready as always. Damn if I'm not happy to be in another of your RPs.

Tolvo
05-12-2015, 03:55 AM
I'm glad to see you're so excited!

Dezeroth is currently a baby. He is spending much of his time in a crib. A plague is currently hitting the province in which he lives. Above him is a mobile made of hanging corpses, each a sickly yellow and gray color designed to get children used to the sight of so many corpses. In Dezeroth's crib is a hairy spider, as well as another infant. The other baby's breathing has become labored, currently the spider is between Dezeroth and the other baby. There is an adult home but they went outside. Within the crib is a small doll made of horse hair. What does Dezeroth do?

Eddren
05-12-2015, 04:00 AM
Dezeroth blinks at the spider, curious about it. At this age, it doesn't occur to him that the spider could be deadly, so he slams his hand upward, hitting the infant rather than grabbing the spider as he intended to. After a few more attempts, resulting in repeated slapping of the baby, he finally gives up on the spider and instead attempts to grasp the horse hair doll.

My, word! Tolvo, I thank you very much for making this awesomeness!

Tolvo
05-12-2015, 04:07 AM
Dezeroth slaps the baby causing it to spit up the piece of hair it was choking on. The spider crawls onto Dezeroth's hand and bites him as he's grasping the doll causing him to cry out in pain. Fortunately, most spiders aren't venomous. His father comes rushing in and quickly kills the spider with a broom. Though none of them would know it, Dezeroth had saved his twin brother.

Now a child, Dezeroth has lived through the loss of his mother to the plague. His father has been struggling to feed him and his twin brother and has decided to give them away to the church to be raised. Currently Dezeroth stands beside his father and brother, looking at the church where priests have gathered to meet him along with other children whose parents could not feed them during these trying times. The head priest is a bald man with a long beard and yellow eyes. Beside him is a young priest in training, a dark skinned boy wearing a less decorated robe. Dezeroth's father tries to nudge him in the direction of the head priest who is awaiting the children at the edge of the courtyard. How does Dezeroth act?

No problem Lady Snickers, I'm glad you think it's cool!

First of all, yes, though to be honest it's kinda late here, so my recollection on which RPs isn't exactly top-notch. But I do recognize you.

Now then, onto the post:

Dezeroth looks up at his Father, silently. He doesn't want to leave home--To leave his father--But he knows that they'll all just starve to death if he doesn't. Silently, he curses having to be poor. He looks over at the head priest, and the younger one next to him, and takes a step forward, then looks back to his twin, as if for support. With a sigh and a slump of his shoulders, he walks over to the priest.

Tolvo
05-12-2015, 04:16 AM
The only thing Steampunk is that I ask you be more descriptive of your character's appearance.

While Dezeroth manages to let go and continue his brother cries loudly and makes a scene causing their father to discipline him. It's quite embarrassing and all of the parents and priests shake their heads at him, even though they're small children not really capable of fully grasping what is happening outside of raw emotional attachment. Dezeroth on the other hand is given a small prayer by the priests.

Now a prepubescent teenager, Dezeroth is just learning the basics of writing. He can somewhat read. A friend of his enters the room, the former priest in training, named Davis. Davis is close to becoming a priest and has been somewhat of an older brother to Dezeroth. Dezeroth's own brother vanished a month ago and has not been heard from. Their father passed away within a week of giving them away to the church due to the plague. They barely dodged that fate. Standing in the doorway of a room lit only by a candle Davis mentions that he knows where some women are bathing and a safe place they could watch. Dezeroth knows to watch would be considered a sin in the name of their nameless unknown gods. He has been working hard to try and learn to write and has been without any leisure recently. The scripture he is currently writing is not perfect but is almost presentable to a priest which may earn him favor. What does Dezeroth do?

Steampunk Samurai

More descriptive got it. Got a bit thrown off midway through writing my bad.

Steampunk Samurai
05-12-2015, 04:29 AM
How's that?

Eddren
05-12-2015, 04:33 AM
While Dezeroth isn't really the sort who cares about women yet, he does enjoy the company of his friend. He knows that finishing this now will get him a favor--And that what he's about to do is a sin--But he decides that, so long as they're careful, they shouldn't get caught. Likewise, he can always finish the script when he does finally get some free-time. It's not like he's going to be going anywhere any time soon. Not like his brother. The memories sadden him for a moment, but with a shake of his head he brushes them away. "Let's go," he said.

Tolvo

Alright your character is accepted, but I do need to mention you should take some time with your writing to edit. I can figure out what you meant but there are errors, when dealing with dangerous situations in RP it can be a problem to miscommunication what you are trying to do.

Let me know when you are ready to set up your character's history.

Dezeroth and Davis leave the monastery grounds and travel for a bit into the forest along the road. Davis did not lie, along a stream are a group of women bathing. The two of them watch which is both sinful and even morally wrong to non-religious people. Within a half hour the women get dressed and Dezeroth has finally seen naked women in something other than a religious text's very basic artwork. It almost feels wrong that they've done something so wrong and gotten away with it. While returning to the monastery grounds the head priest approaches them. He is holding Dezeroth's scripture in hand, he explains that he can tell Dezeroth is improving and that he is proud of him. As well he mentions that he is glad him and Davis were spending time together, the priest had grown worried that Dezeroth was spending too much time alone. What does Dezeroth do?

Steampunk Samurai

Eddren
05-12-2015, 04:50 AM
Dezeroth smiles, delighted that he didn't get caught--Though also because his scriptures were being praised--and thanks the Head Father. "Thank you, Father! I've really been hoping to learn to read and write, so that one day I can read our old texts and preserve them for new generations." But it occurred to him, then, that he had also been praised for going out to spend time with friends...And breaking rules. Dezeroth looked down. "Oh...But I went with David...instead of taking my studies more seriously..." It was the closest to a confession as Dezeroth was willing to get, with the praise he'd just received, though it did make him feel somewhat more guilty that he was getting away with this.

This new backstory creation system is actually pretty great. It really helps me get into the character.

Steampunk Samurai
05-12-2015, 04:56 AM
Well the developers of bloodborne. From Software tend to hide most of their lore in item descriptions and such. So honestly Tolvo I find this to be in the spirit of the game.

Tolvo
05-12-2015, 05:04 AM
The head priest pats Dezeroth on the head and explains that it's okay to take a break sometimes, that the nameless unknown gods were capable of a greater forgiveness than they were capable of understanding as humans. Together they all enter the monastery to pray.

Years later Davis has gotten ill, he is now considered a full priest and was travelling when he became sick. In the village is an alchemist that is considered to be a heretic, a woman from a foreign land. Supposedly her medicine can cure his illness but many suspect that is not true. Nuns have gathered to pray for Davis while the head priest has been looking through scriptures for an answer. Davis himself is mostly unresponsive and seems to be close to death.

Also I'm glad you're liking what I'm doing with character backgrounds!

Well Steampunk, I'm going to be using a mix of storytelling devices, but item descriptions will be there to drop hints and lore bits. Once I unveil the weapons and outfits ya'll are gonna get some information which might be exciting.

Eddren
05-12-2015, 05:10 AM
Dezeroth prays with the rest, but whilst praying is considering whether he should go to this alchemist or not. This was his treasured friend, who had been with him for his entire life. Only his parents, who were dead, his brother, who had disappeared, and the head priest had known him for as long. And...And it wasn't the first time he'd committed a sin. The Nameless Gods would have to forgive him, because Dezeroth was not going to let him die to this illness. Quietly, he murmured that he needed to attend to some personal matters, and stood up, heading for the Alchemist's hut. He had decided to take his chances and try her medicine.

Tolvo
05-12-2015, 05:24 AM
Dezeroth enters the town and notices it is a seemingly gray day but the people aren't too bothered. No one seems particularly happy but they don't look any more sad than they normally do. On the outskirts he finds the alchemist's home which is beneath the shadow of a large tree. Going inside of her shop he sees various strange looking devices, frankly they look forbidden. From the back comes the woman, she has long black hair and red eyes. Dezeroth recognizes her, she was one of the bathing women. Upon spotting him she twisted her nose in disgust. Tongues, scalpels, vials, beakers, this would be the most advanced laboratory Dezeroth had ever seen. This is probably the first he'd ever seen or even heard of. On the back wall he could see a strange looking garb, an ink black cloth made of a thick fabric with excellent stitching. Outside no one dared go near her house, just looking at her Dezeroth could feel his fight or flight senses kicking in which was highly abnormal.

Eddren
05-12-2015, 05:31 AM
At first, when he recognized who she was, he blushed and looked down. Of course, this allowed him to conveniently not notice the look she gave him. But quickly, he looked around and noticed the equipment she had. It was all so...Alien. Like nothing he'd ever seen before. He had, however, read about some of these things. They were strange, forbidden...But sometimes, when the Gods asked them to seek out the answer themselves, the forbidden was the only realm to turn to. He could feel an itching feeling--A deep-set idea that this woman was somehow dangerous. That this place was dangerous. But this was his friend--And he had to help him. So Dezeroth took a few steps in, shook himself, and steeled his resolve, as he had so many months before, when he came to work for the church. "Are you the alchemist? I...My friend. He is dying. I need a cure. Prayers--Scriptures--Nothing works. I was hoping you could help."

History:
Willow was born into a poor family, that survived off their dad's ability to hunt. When she was a young girl Willow got lost in the woods while playing with some friends from their little village. She'd been lost for an hour before a wolf found her, luckily she wasn't killed by the creature as her father and brother's found her soon after. As she grew older her father continued to teach her how to hunt using both a bow and a knife. She even cut the throat of her first rabbit.

By thirteen, Willow was hunting on her own and that was when she found Willem. He was a young boy, who had been set upon by bandits on the road. Willow and her hunting dog had chased them away, her from a well placed arrow in one's arm and her dog by ripping a chunk out of a man's chest. Willow had helped the boy to her house, where he lived as part of their family for a time. Willem was a quiet, sad boy, but the two children still grew close to one another.

When she was fifteen, her father was bit by a poisonous snake. Willem mentioned a cure from the lost nation of Lhazenvanian, that could help, but it seemed like no more than a story and certainly wouldn't help her father in time. Willow stayed by her father's bedside until the very end. He called her The Hunter and told her to take care of the family as the new head of the house. After her father's dead, Willem was even more withdrawn and then a few days later vanished leaving only a note that no one in her family could read.

Willow grew older and continued hunting for the family, but something was in the forest making that harder to do. This made it harder for her to provide as was the duty her father left her. All that was left was to accept the offer of marriage from one of the suitors. She married out of need and necessity to make sure everyone was seen to, choosing to marry one of the local merchant despite their age difference. That choice seemed to have been for the best, as her brothers, who'd been jobless up until this point now had a place to work and they had food to eat. She had thought that she'd be able to still hunt, however as time went her husband protested this more and more wanting her to wear dresses and be his property to show off. So Willow was forced to sneak out of the house in order to fulfill her need to hunt.

It was during one of these trips that she'd met the man who was the catalyst to her journey. She'd walking through the forest when she came upon and area that looked like giants had fought. Walking to the end of the destruction, she discovered a man in a long coat, one that looked more beast than man with a giant ax standing over a giant wolf. She'd fired an arrow at him and with almost inhuman speed he threw the ax which shattered the arrow before embedding 3/4 of the way in a nearby tree. The ax handle had been unexplainably flexible and had knocked her out. When she'd awoke, the man had shifted back into more of a human form and was standing above her. After a brief conversation in which the man seemed to indicate that he knew Willem, she left with more questions than she'd started with and a explainable urge to go to Lhazenvanian.

Willow had done a little planning, gathering food and supplies as well as booking passage to port that was near to Lhazenvanian. The final piece of her plan involved finally getting Willem's letter read. The old sailor who read it did the best he could, but it was understandable enough to indicate the Willem had went to Lhazenvanian himself. That was the final piece. Knowing that Lhazenvanian had been Willem's destination, Willow herself knew she had to go.

The trip itself wasn't hard, just long. Finally, she arrived in a town and seeing the lights on in a nearby house, she'd knocked on the door hoping for directions or a place to sleep as this had been the first house she'd seen in days. Instead of opening the door, the family that was in there turned off all the lights as if to pretend they weren't there as bells began ringing in town. Willow barely had a moment to think before a women in a long coat knocked her into the wall heavily causing her to fall to the ground dazed. The woman ran off down the street not even glancing back and soon a werewolf came into Willow's view.

The beast leaned down sniffing her, it's great teeth bared in a snarl. Then more surprisingly, it's mind touched hers asking to her purpose there, her purpose in one word. Her response was "Willem" and either the beast didn't like the answer or had always planned on making her it's next meal, it tore into her with it's teeth. Swallowing her whole. As the great mouth closed around her, the light shutting off as she was swallowed, the last thought on her mind was of the boy from all those years ago.

Home Life: Willow lives with her mom and two younger siblings, as her father had passed away when she was about 15. She had to fill in as the roll of hunter for the family, bringing in meat to supplement the small garden that they had. She made a little extra money for her family by selling any meat that they wouldn't be able to use. When she was in town, she'd always take a break and buy a round for the old men who frequented the local tavern in order to hear stories about the forbidden lands.

The alchemist still seemed to dislike him but became less disgusted in her look. After hearing his desperation she walked around her devices and removed from the coat on the wall what looked like a weapon. It was small, it looked like a blood red vial with a needle on one end and metal circles on the other. She explained to him that the only way to keep her friend from passing was to press the needle into his neck and then push on the metal circles. This would inject him with the medicine within that would make him strong enough to survive. Dezeroth knew that if anyone saw him do this or holding this item, he could be banished. It was clearly something forbidden. As she handed the device to him Dezeroth felt her hand, she was very cold with claw-like nails. She then added something, that if she ever smelled him or any of the priests while bathing ever again she'd wipe them all out single handed.

And Megilwen your character is accepted. Let me know when you wish to start the character history set up.

"I--" Dezeroth decided that it was likely for the best that he simply remained silent. He took the medicine and inclined his head. "--Thank you." He didn't want to think of the implications that she had smelled them, considering that compared to most other people he was relatively clean, so instead deposited the vial within his robes, making extra sure to keep it from sight. Making his way back to Davis' resting place, he walked in quietly. "If you would please, I'd like to hold a special vigil with Davis. I read once that many miracles can occur if a dear friend dedicates on full day of fasting and prayer to the afflicted. I wish to try this."

Dezeroth was allowed his vigil with the blessing of the head priest. While alone he managed to follow her instructions and keep the medicine hidden. Davis did not stir, he was very far gone at this point. Staying up as long as he could, he eventually had to rest and hide the medicine. The next morning when he awoke and checked on Davis his friend was dead. They were preparing to bury him. After his burial there were whispers among the monastery. The priests and nuns had seen a mark on Davis' neck before his death. Many believed the alchemist had managed to sneak in and poison him, if she knew Dezeroth had been watching her she would have known Davis had been as well. The funeral was somber, at it a child cried. Davis was given a tombstone befitting a priest with his age carved into it, he was 24. Nearby the funeral a mob was forming with some of the priests leading it, the people had gathered torches and weapons and were going to lynch the alchemist, they believed her responsible. This interrupted the funeral as members of the church divided on whether to join in or try to stop the mob. They were leaving the grave behind, heading into town.

Night Meg.

Dezeroth, knowing that it had been his own actions that lead to these suspicions, took the initiative to warn the alchemist. He dared not expose himself--He'd be kicked out of the church, if not murdered himself--But he could, at the very least, try and save her. He would try dissuading them later, but for the moment, the woman should be prepared. That--And he had questions he needed answered. So he quickly made avoided the crowd and made his way to the alchemists' shop, hoping to find her there.

Tolvo
05-12-2015, 06:26 AM
While the mob argued and gathered Dezeroth managed to get to the alchemist's shop. She seemed to be worried and after he warned her immediately she went through a large chest in her shop. From within it she pulled out vambraces, a strange hat, and some disturbing items. One was something akin to a Lhazenvanian powder weapon, something Dezeroth had only seen in drawings. It was elaborate with visible silver etchings. The other weapon she pulled out was a silver longsword which sprouted saw teeth. It looked as if she was preparing to fight the mob. There was little time before they'd arrive, Dezeroth would have to leave soon or be spotted in her company. Looking back at her he could see what she was, from the paintings. A Hunter.

Eddren
05-12-2015, 06:35 AM
Dezeroths' eyes widened. "D-Don't you think that level of violence is excessive? This is the entire town we're talking about, here!" He gave a glance back to where the mob was approaching, and gave a small sigh. "Just--Flee for a while. I can talk them down--Just don't kill them. Many of those priests I grew up with."

Tolvo
05-12-2015, 07:35 AM
She seemed to listen, as Dezeroth went out the front to meet the crowd they looked at him with confusion. Some raised bows while others kept their torches ready. Farmers were using pitchforks and other tools as weapons as well. The head priest pointed directly at Dezeroth in horror, then demanded the alchemist let him go free. She was behind him so swiftly and yet without making a sound. A whisper hit his ears, "You'll thank me." Rather than getting to talk down the crowd an immense pain hit the young man as she bit into the side of his neck drawing blood. It was incredibly painful, but he could still breath, she didn't bite deep only enough to draw blood. Arrows loosed and before they could hit Dezeroth she jumped in the way leaving him to drop to his knees. For a moment the townspeople seemed happy until the Hunter raised her gun and fired it just past the head priest's head Dezeroth had never heard something so loud in his life, it was like the thunderous roars of the gods that comes after their wrathful flashes in the skies during storms. An arrow had pierced her eye and come out the back of her skull, others riddled her belly while one stuck out of her thigh. Everyone began to panic and run at the sight of her nimbly dashing between people. It was hard for him to keep track of anything going on, her shop was suddenly ablaze while a nun grabbed him to try and drag him away from the carnage. Half of the town burned down because of their foolishness, many died. Yet not one by the Hunter's hands, the next day they tried to track her but they never found a body. Her trail seemed to end at the body of a wild boar that had been completely sucked dry leaving only a bloodless carcass, as well as some broken arrows. Her laboratory had been destroyed, more so what was worrying was Davis. During the mob his grave had been defiled, though the church kept in what manner secret. While the people of the town were never to know, Davis' grave had been dug out of, his coffin broken from the inside. This was too considered the work of the Hunter. There was a great deal of worry for Dezeroth as well, the priests prayed for him after his coming into contact with the monster. He was given all sorts of remedies yet he felt quite fine. The only noticeable difference in him, was that one of his eyes was slightly red now, when he looked in mirrors he could see just a hint of the woman he met within his eyes. Ever since that day Dezeroth's nights were haunted by dreams, of lights in the distance calling to him and whispering his name. In his nightmares he'd reach the city and find Davis, only to see his eyes reflecting a scarlet gaze back at Dezeroth. Many years later with the passing of the head priest a new pilgrimage was to happen, Dezeroth was chosen to be one of the few sent to Uhrstad.

Dezeroth knew the priests and nuns that had been sent with him. They were friends, or at least fleeting acquaintances. Upon a boat they sailed to the city upon the Black Sea. Travel was frightening. The sailors on the ship seemed to be almost cult-like in their zeal, clearly they saw themselves as sacrifices and didn't believe they'd be returning. In the waters they'd see the reflections of the stars, even during the day. The sun did not appear once in the waters, always it acted as if the sky was night. During the travel one of the nuns jumped overboard while screaming about hearing voices calling to her. Upon fishing her body out they discovered she had suffocated under the water and her body had rapidly bloated. Rather than deal with it they tossed her back overboard. Those sailing with Dezeroth had given up hope. They were as if in a coma, becoming unresponsive. After a long chilling journey they reached the city and docked at its port. Tall buildings obscured the sky, yet there were no lights. Instead Uhrstad appeared dead. As they arrived one of the sailors died in her sleep without any apparent cause. Dezeroth began to hear whispers bouncing about in his skull, the language was lost upon him. Turning he could see their ship was now gone, just gone. The closest building to him looked to be a clinic of sorts. Before him was a long street with many winding alleys. Down at his feet was one of his friends, he could see they had been bisected by something unknown. Dezeroth's senses were failing him. He could hear nothing over the whispers which drummed in his mind. In their hand was medicine, the medicine. He recognized the needle point and vial of blood within it. For some reason he felt compelled to speak, as red eyes in the mist got closer and closer. Dezeroth had one word he could speak, while doing whatever he wished to. A single word, whichever was most important to him.

EDIT: I think it is sleepy time for me. We'll finish this up tomorrow Edd.

Dezeroth found the trip to be exhausting, but...Not much worse than what the rest of his life had been, to be honest. The others heard voices. He'd been hearing voices for years now. They thought they were going to die, and yet he'd escaped death so many times. For all their prayers, all their desires to heal him, he had been fine--And now he was sent to a place where, for all their attempts to discover its' mysteries, it remained beyond their comprehension. This place was like him. Almost familiar, in its' or terrible way. He'd already been fascinated with it for his whole life: He'd studied anything about it that he could get his hands on. And now...As the darkness approached...He found himself almost compelled to speak. He could speak of his brother...But he'd barely known him. Davis was dead to him, gone. All that was left was the voices, and these red eyes. All that was left...That familiar smile of his--His coping mechanism that he kept at all times--Widened for a moment. He dropped to his knees, grabbing the vial. "Alchemist." He looked up at the red eyes, and stood, vial in hand.

Player Name: Clyde

Character Name: Muris Ptolemy [P is silent]

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Pansexual

Age: 24

Appearance:
He was sitting, back to the wall, desperately trying to defog the lens of his glasses. Rain had splattered over them, and the other part of the frame was cracked. Turning a singular piece of vision into an hexagonal imagery. His blond hair fell into his face and he pushed it back with his pale hand. On further inspection, he was lean, and not very muscular. He also wasn't very tall. He didn't have the presence of an intimidating man, in fact he seemed quite the opposite, charming, handsome, how had he made it this far? The question would remain a mystery.

Huzzah indeed!

Dezeroth managed to pick up the vial and speak his final words. From the mist emerged the Alchemist, her face was kind as she aimed a gun at him. Things became more clear, his altered eye saw a different truth. It was as if two figures were standing within each other. The Alchemist a phantom, within her a woman wearing blood covered justacorps with a powdered wig. Her gun was different to the alchemist's, it was simple in design. A force hit Dezeroth as his body buckled, he fell forwards onto the medicine injecting himself. Laying on the ground he could feel his intestines spilling from his guts as blood flooded from his mouth. The whispers intensified as his vision continued to fade. Finally one word made sense in his mind from these outside entities, "Alchemist." Laying on his back looking skyward he saw a shimmer, followed by a wicked knife entering his view. More and more he could see the strange woman and less and less he could see the Alchemist. His sight ended with a splash of his own blood as his throat was slashed. Dezeroth died without feeling any pain.

Dezeroth's history is now complete and ready to be written how you please and added to his character sheet. Then Dezeroth will be ready for the RP.

Eddren
05-13-2015, 10:48 PM
Well, honestly, armor in your games does tend to make you pretty godlike, if you also play smart. But most of the people who've started with armor got killed off pretty quick, because they didn't learn to be careful and think. They just relied on their equipment.

Tolvo
05-13-2015, 10:56 PM
Well usually we are in a more Medieval setting, and plate armor, mail, that stuff is incredibly useful against melee weapons, arrows, quarrels, shrapnel.

But this is later in a historical sense, at least in Lhazenvania. Guns designed to kill werewolves probably aren't going to be stopped by plate armor, and creatures capable of throwing horses are going to just kill through armor.

What, and bolts of pure soul energy wouldn't have?

...Well, then again--For some reason, I'm the only one who likes playing magic types. Speaking of, will there be any magic in this game?

Tolvo
05-13-2015, 10:59 PM
Magic was sort of like an energy thing, so if the armor would redirect the force of the magic it could, and it depended on the type of magic in general.

Will there be magic? Oh ho ho, something I cannot reveal. For those who know of Bloodborne please don't spoil that. I'll just say, there will be something alright!

I'll take that as a 'yes,' and because this is a roleplay, I assume that it'll be fine if my RPC takes advantage of it.

I'm very glad people are enjoying the history creation part of character creation. I was worried people might find it offputting since it is something different, but I'm glad it seems to be a success.

EDIT: Will do Breggo, the IC is probably starting tonight but people can always jump in as long as I don't think we have too many players(Numbers are currently fine).

You've got to remember Edd really gets into RP's and he likes to be able to post a lot and keep going, which is easier to do if he isn't in a group having to wait on so many posts from other players. Plus when he isn't in a group he doesn't have to make group decisions, he can just follow the path he wants to and make the choices he wants to without considering how other characters will react towards him or think of him.

Tolvo
05-14-2015, 01:40 AM
And Muris' history is done, I should probably get around to putting the full history set ups in Misc.

Also definitely glad people are really loving the set up.

It's up to you Hoef, if you think you would like to play and can handle it. I can't really be the judge of that, though I know you're probably also thinking out loud.

Mr.Cynic
05-14-2015, 01:43 AM
Muris is a pussy bitch. There's my summary. lol < I'm joking

Eddren
05-14-2015, 02:07 AM
Well, I'd like to point out that Dez spent most of life complaining about how he was poor and couldn't do anything for himself, spied on bathing women, never told the truth even when it meant someone was going to get hurt, and ended up dying without even so much of a fight.
So really, I doubt you can lower the standard any further.

---Edit---

I'd also like to say, Tolvo. I'm really, really looking forward to the IC opening up. I wanna eventually get my character so that his half-eye is more than just cosmetic.

It is not too late to join.

Edd you know how I am, I like to use every aspect of a player's character sheet for things to use in the RP. Not always in major ways, but I love to use every tool at my disposal.

Eddren
05-14-2015, 03:11 AM
'Tis true. Tis true. You know, though, thinking back on those games...
...I wish I'd gotten to see how my Venefi turned out. Were they going to become shape-shifting spirit-slayers with a penchant for summoning golems animated by the dark powers of an evil god imprisoned by one of their ancient ancestors, or were they going to be dominated by a bunch of fucking bird enthusiasts?

Cfavano
05-14-2015, 03:15 AM
my humans would have conquered the world.

Tolvo
05-14-2015, 03:39 AM
Listen those bird enthusiasts were dangerous, maybe, probably not. Frankly the city of ghosts was far more of an issue than the gnomes who loved birds.

Eddren
05-14-2015, 03:40 AM
The city of ghosts just kept coming back to bite me in the butt. The problem was, I could tell it was the key to the Venefi really becoming a powerful civilization.

Tolvo
05-14-2015, 04:19 AM
Also probably the key to finding out how to not have your civilization literally turned into ghosts. "What'd they do wrong? Okay I won't do that then."

Or you could go the Raiden from Mortal Kombat route. Find out, then go back and time and still fuck it up.

Mr.Cynic
05-14-2015, 04:30 AM
So I guess what I am asking is, how would I summarize the events in the history we did?

Tolvo
05-14-2015, 04:44 AM
Mentioning things like how Muris grew up under Hoenn, his relationships and the impacts he had on others and what impacts they had on him. Things Muris did or had happen to him, his brother's leaving, Redford's leaving, and then his journey to Lhazenvania, and his death.

Mr.Cynic
05-14-2015, 04:50 AM
Ah okay. That helps. I just needed a way to narrow it down. I feel bad for Muris because I made him a bit of pussy, didn't I Tolvo?

Eddren
05-14-2015, 04:51 AM
So you had some brotherly abandonment too, huh?
I'm noticing a theme, here.

Anyway, I figured I had the whole 'ghosts' thing sorted out. Fire Fang broke the cycle, and learned a valuable lesson about slave uprisings. Slaves only work if they don't hate being slaves enough to risk death in an uprising.

Mr.Cynic
05-14-2015, 05:07 AM

Sorry about that Edd, had a bit of a medical emergency that was really disturbing and really messed up my focus.

You know the myth about earwigs? Well it wasn't an earwig, but something that looked almost like a little leech? Basically that happened and I have been really fucked up all night because of it.

a curious portrait.

Player Name: Craze
Character Name: Anthony Lincoln Marks
Gender(s): Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Age: 34

Appearance: His body rose from the green-tinted water, his grey and bony hands clutching onto the edges of the bathtub. Slowly his skin regained its colour, turning from sickening grey to a healthy caucasian - though still pale. His fingers lost their bony structure to grow into firm and manly hands, yet somehow they had a curious sense of delicacy. His fingernails were yellow and long, sharpened like that of a creature. As the water trickled down his outspoken cheekbones he stood up and opened his eyes. He raised his arms, leaving behind the warm and tranquil water to embrace the scorning breeze of a cold winter's night. Like an animal he crawled out of the tub, briefly walking on all fours, slowly transitioning in the walk of an ordinary man. He ran a comb through his black, thick, soaked hairs, slicking them back until they were perfectly aligned with his head. He squinted and frowned, glaring into the mirror to stare at amber eyes and pale skin. He took a razor and flipped it open, scraping it along his jaw until it was smooth as silk. As he observed his body, which was like that of a skeleton, the edges of his thin and ash-colored lips tweaked upwards.
Eye Color: Amber
Hair Color: Black
Weight: 132lbs (60 kg)
Height: 6'4''

Attire: He donned a brown suit that had turned slightly grey over the years, tainted by time. A white shirt accompanied by a dark and classy sleeveless vest, the two overlapped with a tailored coat that reached down to his knees. A pair of ordinary, though tailored, black pants was pulled over his naked, scrawny legs. Leather boots embraced his feet. Finally, his hands slithered across the desk to find a simple, white, round mask that resembled an owl. He lifted it up like it was fragile, turning it around to cover his face with it.

Player Name: Avalon Hoef
Character Name: Francis Arthurius III
Gender(s): Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Age: 37

Appearance: Francis is a relatively average looking joe with broad shoulders and working class muscle-mass. He has developed a rather defiant mustache that signifies him from the rest of the men of his age. His skin is soft, but is withering. He harbors some grey-hairs here and there, but those seem to come with discovering most items that would easily scare a man to death. He has a rugged and rough looking face, even with the smooth contours of his facial features. The lower half of his body isn't all that interesting for it is simply the work of middle-class strength. However having been raised through the caste-system he has developed a less athletic appearance and more of a scholar than a soldier - but his skills with a blade still remain.
Eye Color: Brown
Hair Color: Brownish Black
Weight: 167 Lbs.
Height: 5'7

Attire: Something of this depth (http://images.halloweencostumes.org/products/5245/1-1/plus-size-mens-king-henry-viii-costume.jpg)
Weapons: A Rapier
Gear:
Inventory:
Blood Liters: 5.5

Dreams: He dreams of discovering the fascinating features that world has to offer. He also dreams of discovering the dark aspects of life and its vulgar coloring as well.
Nightmares: He isn't pratically fearless, but creatures of the most abhorrent of appearances can make this man shrivel up in fear. What this means is that creatures, of horrors, who particularly exceed past his expectation [jump scares basically] he'll immediately engage the flight or fight response. He also fears what lies in the darkness, and not darkness itself.
Purpose: To uncover the mystery that plagues its grounds

History:
Home Life: Francis lives with his wife, Katelyn, and his two sons Gyrard and Hemonnet. He treats his own family with respect and holds their values to the highest appeal for he had respect for his wife and compassion for his sons.

Tolvo
05-17-2015, 03:59 AM
Since Willow has reached a point where she can pick a weapon. It is time to unveil, the list of weapons for starter Hunters. You may notice I had a bit of fun making these.

BEHOLD!

QQ no ranged weapons like bows. Oh well...*picks Death's Hands*

is there only one of each weapon?

Though the Hunter's Harp sounds cool too.

Tolvo
05-17-2015, 04:22 AM
There are multiples, but as you may guess, the Hunters don't want to deck out someone they don't know the capabilities of. For all they know you'll go out, die, and the weapon will be lost in the city. So there are multiples, but you get just one for now. But for Deaths Hands, you get both hands.

Megilwen
05-17-2015, 04:26 AM
That's fine I just didn't know if by choosing Death's Hands it would be available for others in the group. That kind of thing or if we'd all have different weapons.

Tolvo
05-17-2015, 04:34 AM
Ah, multiple people can have the same type of weapon. I think it'd be more interesting if people chose different weapons and I imagine different characters will have different weapons that appeal to them.

On one hand, the Vampire Slayer appeals to Dezeroth's aesthetics. On the other hand, the bloodthirster appeals to Dezeroth's desire for more magical weapons.

You know what? Eff it. I'll use the bloodthirster. Dezeroth's a man who likes a weapon with strange applications.

I'm feeling like having a bit of the hair of the dog that bit me with the vampire killer. Then again the harp sounds so deliciously violent. I'm honestly having a bit of trouble deciding . These are some nice weapons Tolvo.

05-17-2015, 10:00 AM
Thank you, I've been trying to design weapons with enough variety that everyone could find something they'd like while also keeping with the theme. Though I do admit the Vampire Killer is the Threaded Cane from Bloodborne essentially. That thing's just cool.

And oh boy the Hunter's Harp is a wicked weapon when used properly.

Basked Hilted Dragon here. Because a shotgun deals with a hell of a lot of problems.

And Vampire Killer...You've been playing too much Castlevania.

Crap did this start. Sorry been a busy three days and today I was going to catch up with everything

Tolvo
05-17-2015, 09:12 PM
Listen Miyazaki is a big Castlevania fan(And Berserk fan) so there are usually multiple references to them, and I couldn't resist continuing the tradition. And the more mysterious thing he is a fan of, shhhh, don't let the others know that's more fun for them to find out.

Also I was wondering where you were Clyde.

Mr.Cynic
05-17-2015, 09:19 PM
Well I am here. Sorry it's been a crazy week. I didn't think I'd be that busy. But I posted and I am here. And I am just catching up on RPA today

Tolvo

I love it when people perhaps unknowingly say or think just the right thing and then it lets the story lead into suspense.

Mr.Cynic
05-18-2015, 01:17 AM
Muris is one of the biggest sissies I have ever created. I have no faith in my character making much progress in this RP. lol.

All he has to show for being in here is dark moody pictures. Which don't suit his docile, stupid sissy persona. hahahaa

Tolvo
05-18-2015, 01:28 AM
It is definitely a problem. Without a drive or motivation your character seems kind of stuck.

Mr.Cynic
05-18-2015, 01:30 AM
He just needs to see someone die. lol. That cures everything. PTSD turns them into rage aggressive motivation monsters.

Can you please never say anything like that again in this thread or to me about people with PTSD?

Mr.Cynic
05-18-2015, 01:36 AM
Sorry, I was joking because it seems like always the case in books and movies. I was making fun of movies and books.

05-18-2015, 01:38 AM
In the future please don't make jokes like that or compare people who have mental illnesses and/or suffer trauma to monsters. It can be incredibly hurtful and as I put in the rules I'm not going to allow bigotry.

By the way Eddren you're either going to be happy or upset with my next post, maybe a mixture of both.

Eddren
05-18-2015, 02:14 AM
Probably a mixture. I assume that "just the right thing" thing was aimed toward me?

I actually had a hard time thinking of just what he would say and think in this situation. And considering the years I've played Dez, I've gotta hand it to you: You've thrown him in a situation he's never been designed for.

Tolvo
05-18-2015, 06:13 AM
By the way I'll just say this in case I didn't convey it well enough in character. You die in the dream/nightmare your character actually dies. Also keep in mind just because in previous things you could die infinitely does not mean in Bondage of Blood you can.

Mr.Cynic
05-18-2015, 06:24 AM
Go Muris! Use your strength of pussyfooting around. Yeah! God my character is a little insufferable. He's like one of those characters who ask to many questions and needs something to make his manliness come out.

It's one of those things where ya gotta balance. I don't want to get lost in Witcher 3 too much because posting will take a tank. But I'll admit I was so hyped opening the plastic I cut my god damn nail. This girl's gotta take more care with her hands.

05-19-2015, 04:40 AM
so is something coming at willow other than the deer/wolf/man monster?

Tolvo
05-19-2015, 04:41 AM
I did manage to sort of salvage the nail but it's still shorter and that sucks I had it grown so far out.

Also I wonder if Eddren can figure out what the fuck he just witness. And I hope Willow is ready to hunt some game.

EDIT: Just the Deer/Wolf/Person is coming at Willow, the rest are present but not actively going at her currently.

Well, to be honest--I'm kind of still trying to piece it all together. I think it'd help significantly if I knew how literally I was to take this translation, but I know you won't tell me that. X.X
Basically, if it's supposed to be an event grounded in actual history, then I have one theory. If it's something symbolic, then I have another.

It's cool, it's cool. I'm just glad to have you posting.
It's a little soon to guess, but reviewing the information I've been given, I've come to the conclusion that the Church of Behlit was behind the technology blockade.
Their strong belief in the hidden secrets of their gods likely extended to long before Hunters became their Justicars. In other words, their hunters previously hunted anyone who was willing and able to share their technology, rather than monsters.
I also believe that Dezeroth's previous order was a hidden church of Behlit.

I'm still around. I seem to be healing well, the drain is now out of my back. I think I can start trying to get back to posting soon, I just need to deal with some anxiety issues. This sort of thing happens often whenever I stop posting, I lose momentum and feel like expectations build up to the point that I have to make gigantic posts that are overly technical. Usually I stay silent as it builds up, but maybe publicly saying this will help me with the anxiety.

Megilwen
