Tag Design Contest

Hello all, me being insane i had the idea of making an open contest.

The object is to create designs for three tags for a set of Astro A40 headphones (http://loudmouthedgamers.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/AstroGamingA40_Headset.jpg) (which i have).

Now, for some guidelines:



The template for A40 tags can be found HERE (http://betacustomizer.astrogaming.com/images/astro/a40tag_template_guides.psd), the white space is for the design and the hole is for the third tag only.
The design is to be on a transparent background so that the background (a very glossy black) will be able to show through.
The design is to be techno-y.... i'll let people know if they're going in the right direction once submissions start to come in.
I would like you to incorporate 'splicer407' into the design somehow, because they're going on my headphones and that's my username for everything. EDIT: i can actually do this myself if you like, i'll probably add the same text in AlienCaret (the Alienware font)
Once a sufficient stock of submissions is in i will choose the winner by whichever tags i like the best.

Unfortunately i am not in the position to give prizes, but pictures will be posted and i give you total bragging rights. also, if anyone is on playstation network just add me as a friend.

Hmmm…so do these tags hang on your headphones? Or do they stick to them? Just a bit confused...

And this contest is for personal use, right? I don't wanna end up designing something for a company (via RPA) I know little or nothing about and then get in trouble for it >__>

Okay, so a techno theme for your headphones… I love anything techno, so I'll start thinking of a few design concepts for you. Any specific deadline?

Oh good! LOL I hate deadlines, makes me rush. All right, cool, I think I'll get into this if I have some ideas in mind. I'll get back to you ^_^

I've been trying a few things out, and I've got a pretty good idea of what to do, so expect something to come in soon... If I remember to work on it <.<

Something-steampunk-like?

I did black and white 'cause the headphones are black (I forgot it) :whee:


Anyways, those are just ideas, if you like them, then great, if not then.. well, worth a try :D

Ooh, the silver steampunk one looks good, but three things:

1. i'll end up cutting out the gray background and adding my text

2. i do need one design without the hole

3. full size please xD i don't deserve to be caled a techie anymore... i failed to notice they were links....

I know I still have to draw your full character design, but I'm keeping this contest in mind XD;;;

If we were to draw a person on it, do you like any particular style? Realistic, cartoony, etc.?

WAIT: Do you want it techno themed or technology themed? I'm confused now...

@Wattz : yes you do, but no rush. And I am partial to an anime-like style, but just remember to keep it game neutral (e.g. no game characters)

@Zelda : Techno themed, but I did like Lammas' entry, so I guess either? I don't really know, but I can tell you if I like it if you show me what you're thinking.

I had to transfer the template to GIMP, so I don't know how well this worked... Let me know if I should put the templates back on it for a preview, but this is the art layer. :)

(NOTE: The microphone side won't have the white glow inside of the yellow, cuz' there's a microphone there. ~rofl~)
