Introduction

Welcome to New Peaks Academy, also known as Fight School! Normal classes do exist, but I can assume that's not the main reason you're here. No, you're likely interested in the many fights to be had; officially sanctioned or otherwise, 1 vs. 1, team battles, and even tournaments... all taking place within the same continuity. Friendships and rivalries will be formed. Great victories will be attained and bitter defeats will be endured. For better of for worse, the memories of your adventures while attending New Peaks High for these four years will last a lifetime. They will mold you from an unknown fighter to a champion worthy of worldwide recognition.

English is the official language of communication at New Peaks. The high school is located on a private island in the Pacific Ocean, and was started by a wealthy group of investors from the United States. While English is the most commonly spoken language at the school, translators are on staff for any student who is not fluent in the language. As it is technically an international academy, any and all forms of martial arts are welcomed, if not already represented among the student body and staff.

This thread's IC will be used for both the fights and the normal character interaction. That being said, and Player-versus-Player fight posts should have a title at the top that states _______ vs. _______.

---------------------------------------------------------------

After arriving at New Peaks Academy about nine months ago, this year's Freshman class has come a long way. They've been through many classes, fights, friendships, rivalries, and everything inbetween.

The year started off with a bang, as resident bad-boy Shotaro Yanmei was challenged by a Freshman by the name of Junkiro on the first day of school. The fight went about like anyone expected, with the senior defeating the new kid quickly and decisively... but the courage of the new student made a bit of an impact. So much so that many other freshmen decided to start challenging one another soon after getting settled in at the Academy.

Needless to say, things settled down soon enough and everyone got into their own routines. This was all broken up by the big Holiday Tournament that took place just before Christmas. Each class (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior) had their own day set aside for this event, and each year of students was split into fifteen divisions. Each "Division Champion", along with a single "Wild Card" student, was then placed into a bracket for the "Championship Rounds" to determine the best fighter from each class.

The battles were fast and furious, with the top Freshman fighters being Junkiro Iwazuma at the top, Vincento Sarconni in second, and Kyami Xiang Yi in third. However, this was overshadowed when the tragedy that occurred during the Senior Tournament. A young man named Boris Kovalyov was accidentally paralyzed during the second semifinal bout, causing a stir of fear among many younger students. Many of them quickly remembered just how dangerous a fight could be, even when all safety measures are observed.

During the awards ceremony for the Senior Tournament, New Peaks Academy's top fighter showed uncharacteristic kindness when he donated his winnings from the event to the injured student to cover any expenses. Many others, including the young girl who inflicted the injury, followed his example. So supportive were the students, that they organized a charity auction to benefit the young man.

Five months passed with little incident, and it is now May. Students are preparing for the Summer Tournament, and everyone is on edge from the anticipation. The upcoming event will be their last chance to showcase the skills they have picked up during the school year. After it concludes, there will only be a few days before they all go home for the summer. Then they will return the following year, and rejion the ranks of the world's most talented up-and-coming fighters at...

NEW PEAKS ACADEMY: FIGHT SCHOOL

---------------------------------------------------------------

The Challenge Board

Fights between students, from 1 vs. 1 to a team battle of any number of students, can be done at any time as long as someone submits a form to the Challenge Board, all student involved signs their name, and a stamp of approval is placed on the form. This will be represented in this OOC by the challenger posting something like this:

"I, (insert here the name of the student you will be using as well as any other allies), challenge (name of any opposing students listed here) to a battle at Arena (insert the number here of any arena not being used at the same time in the storyline)." … or something similar that signifies your challenge to another player. You can also just say: "Hey (player/member name). Want to have our characters scrap?"

The boards are posted all over campus, as well as directly to the smartphones/tablets/etc of any student who wishes to get notices that way.

Everyone involved must make it clear in the OOC that they will be participating, and then I or any other GM I may appoint will approve it.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Tournaments

There's a school-wide tournament taking place every year at midterms and finals. All students are required to attend. I will likely use a tournament randomizer to make the brackets to ensure impartiality.

Special tournaments may be created through popular demand with specific attributes in mind. For example, MMA, kendo, and so on... so players can occasionally have different rule sets than normal. Not everyone has to attend these, but may submit their intention to do so.

Tournaments will be announced ahead of time, giving players time to wrap up any personal plot or interesting developments that are occuring for them. During the tourney, non-tournament IC activity should be kept to a minimum

---------------------------------------------------------------

Unsanctioned Fights

This is always an option and you can ignore all the rules as long as everyone involved agrees on any deviations taking place. For example, you can agree on a fight to break out in the hallway, but if you want to pull a knife on them then make sure to ask for permission beforehand.

However... unsanctioned fights will have consequences if they are not done properly or if a player gets caught by an instructor. These consequences vary in severity depending on the fight itself. If you are caught in an unsanctioned match that breaks very few rules, then they will be fairly trivial. If you're being a bully, you might get suspended. If you actively tried to kill a fellow student, you might just be expelled.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Ranking

Students are ranked between E to S after showing their abilities through various tests encompassing every facet of what makes a skilled fighter. It's still possible for a rank E to beat a rank S... but that would be highly unlikely. E-rank is for the average joe or below who has yet to receive much or any proper training. Every increase in rank is generally though of as being significantly more talented than the rank below it, much like a belt system in organized martial arts.

NPC Students are often rank E to D in their first year, D to C in their second year, C to B in their third year, and B or A in their forth year. Player Characters will likely scale higher than this, of course... they're player characters, after all. S-Rank are the exceptionally skilled, people who received additional training after graduation, and/or are instructors... so most NPC students never reach this rank.

There's an additional 1 to 3 ranking after the letter for even more precise ranking, so a D1 would be close to C in rank while a C3 would be among the weakest of the C ranks.

To increase in rank you must pass a test in a ceremony specifically designed to allow this. (that is to say, if you think your character can achieve a higher rank, PM me and we can talk about it) Even if you are as good as a C rank, for example, you'll stay a D1 until you pass. There's a ceremony every semester that you may take part in, as well as being awarded advancement for strong performances in PvP combat.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Fighting System

Player Vs. Player combat is decided by a roll of the dice if the two players cannot simply agree on a winner... OR if they just want to randomize it, with the winner having the higher result. An example will follow.

Each letter rank grants a player one 10-sided die to roll. Each number is what that player must then subtract from the final roll. E-Rank gets one die. D-Rank gets two, and so on. All the way up to S-Rank with six dice.

Say an E3-rank challenges an S1-Rank for some reason. The E3 would roll one 10-sided die, then subtract 3 from the final result. The S1 would then roll six 10-sided dice, subtracting 1 from the end result.

The E3's chances for winning are ABYSMAL... but NOT nonexistent. If he rolls a 10 and subtracts his 3, his end result is 7. If the S1 rolls mostly 1s and then subtracts his 1, then the E3 would still win.

This system ensures that fights between characters of similar LETTER rank are fair and unpredictable, but also that any lower-rank foes have a chance for victory should they decide to challenge someone stronger than themselves.

That said, I don't want the person with the lower result to just half-ass it for the fight they get into. I WILL give rewards to people who can make a fight entertaining regardless of if they win or lose.

Every post besides the beginning three are comprised of first a reaction and then an action. The first two are introducing the characters to the battle where they cannot take any action against each other, then the third post is what starts the battle off, skipping the reaction step and jumping straight to the action.

Reaction is going off of what your opponent has written in their latest post. If they are swinging their fist at you, for example, then you may use this opportunity to respond to this attack in any manner that you feel fit as long as it can reasonably occur. A reaction could also be receiving the hit, more then likely because you didn't have any other reasonable options available to you... or perhaps you like a more cinematic fight where everyone gets a bit beaten up and the winner only emerges victorious by a small margin. This reaction portion of the post does not exist in the first post because there is nothing to react to.

Posts should be made as detailed as possible to avoid confusion. If you say something overly vague such as "I run up and attack him" then your opponent may ask you to clarify. If you refuse to do so for some reason, they can interpret your post however they see fit, assuming your attack can be a head butt to their shin and react accordingly if that's what they wish. That being said, the more you elaborate the less wiggle room they have..

Judges/GMs watch over fights to make sure nobody is abusing the rules. If no disagreements are made or able to be resolved between the participants then the judges don't have to be brought up. However, if there is something that can't otherwise be resolved then up to 2 judges for normal matches and up to 4 for tournaments (not controlled by any participants) may take part officially and any disagreement between them can be brought to the attention of the head judge (me or anyone elected to substitute for me). Unofficial input can be given by any number of people within the OOC. Judges can end the fight if they believe too much serious damage is being done to the students.

Don't be a jackass, use your brain, and get banned if you godmod or metagame.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Grades

This is just for fun, but may help explain why students fight more than just the giggles. They get 60 out of 100 points from their normal classes and 40 points put into the fighting portion. If they score a 70 in total... they pass, but if they want to fight as little as possible, that will require near perfect scores going into the 60 possible points out of 100 for the academic portion and at LEAST 10 points for fighting, ending them with a max of 10 if they had fought and scored 0 points in the tournaments.

For every fight you participate in, you receive 1 point toward your final GPA. This ensures that everyone fights at least a couple dozen times throughout the year to ensure their grades are good. However, you can only earn a maximum of 50 points through fighting. This ensures that prolific fighters cannot neglect their studies.

If your character ends up failing then they can make it up in a summer school training program. The lower your score is the more hard work you suffer through.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Magic, Powers, and Martial Arts

Characters will be of similar power to what can be seen from many fighting games such as Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Tekken, etc. There can be magical abilities of varying nature as long as it isn't powerful enough to give you a definitive advantage over fighters without magic. For example, Blanka from Street Fighter can shoot electricity out of his skin, but he's still able to be defeated by someone without any such magical powers. His electricity cannot instantly fry their heart, it's not always on, not so fast nobody can see it coming and not able to avoid it, etc. There must be considerable disadvantages either to the magic or other qualities of the fighter to balance things out. Magic should also follow a theme, so no "I can do everything" magic.

As for non-magical fighting, it will involve some suspension of disbelief. The fighters will be able to act around peak human and not blatantly break the laws of physics, although may have some highly unlikely fighting ability being demonstrated. You can be knocked back dramatically and slam into walls and still keep fighting, do flip kicks, run along walls for brief moments, etc. Obviously, for someone without magic, they'd probably be better at this sort of fighting in exchange.

Vital Spirit is the energy of the soul that every living creature has. This can be used to hand wave certain normally lethal damage as only incapacitating then to help avoid accidentally killing each other too often. Of course people can still die, it's just harder to do so if they have plot armor given to them by this excuse. The energy that provides for magic is called chi/ki/aura, and is the detectible energy felt resonating from a person, especially more powerful individuals. Examples being if a D-Rank character angers an S-Rank character, they will be able to “feel” the strength and power of that person to some extent.

Martial Arts can be chosen from any of the hundreds of various styles that exist in the world today, made up (if described well enough), or hybridized styles like MMA or Kajukenbo. For a nice assortment of basic styles to choose from, click HERE ('http://www.fullcontactmartialarts.org/').

---------------------------------------------------------------

The Campus

New Peaks Academy is a sprawling campus, with several buildings that house the various classrooms. In addition, off of the school grounds there are same-sex dorms where the students live. Sorry... no Co-Ed stuff here. The staff knows you're all a bunch of hormone-ridden teens. Other than the dorms, there are several restaurants that the students and faculty can stop at to eat, shops to get books and games and trinkets, a couple parks to relax in (complete with those charcoal grills you see in some parks, if you feel like having a cookout!), and a grocery store where you can buy foodstuffs to take back to your dorm.

To this end, students are given a stipend of $200 USD per month to spend as they see fit. This means if you blow it all on that game console you wanted... you better have some way to get food for yourself. Students CAN take part-time jobs if they choose to.

Factions

As with many schools, there are students who get together in like-minded groups. These are called "factions" at New Peaks Academy. There are four main factions, as well as a fifth sub-faction. They are as follows.

Founded during the inaugural year of New Peaks Academy, Imperius Gloria is all about personal growth and development. Faction members only have a loose affiliation with one another, and are often found doing whatever they can to one-up members of other factions. This behavior extends to members of their own faction as well, but to a lesser extent. Many a member of Imperius Gloria has been reprimanded for rulebreaking on at least one occasion. It is known the faction undertakes less than fair methods of ensuring they attain only the highest honors at New Peaks, including bounties, bullying, and even serious physical harm, but thus far no solid evidence has been procured against the group as a whole. Faction Mascot: Tassidus the Gladiator (https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/78/66/33/7866333c329dddef8d372a4b71579428.jpg). Current Faction Head: Shotaro Yanmei

This faction arose shortly after Imperius Gloria rose to power, in a full-hearted attempt to usurp their iron grip on Twin Peaks' inner-school society. Their innate values are of polar opposite to the Imperius; group success and growth is far more important to the members of this group than solitary progress. To the people who call themselves Janissaries, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. While the Janissaries failed in their attempt to bring a more permanent peace amongst the factions, they are not one to give up, and continue pushing a way of peace with few listeners. They will often go out of their way to make new students feel welcome, assist those in need of tutoring, and organize and run many of the school's public events. Faction Mascot: Yani the Horseman (http://weldbham.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Plate-8-Delacroix-Collision-of-Arab-Horsemen.jpg). Current Faction Head: Weiss LeBlanc

For a few years, New Peaks maintained a two-faction system, the Imperius Gloria holding personal glory above group effort, and the Janissaries doing the opposite. One year, a young man by the name of Josef Sokolov asked a question that is still repeated by many a confused first-year student: "Why must we fight outside the battlefield?" Sokolov saw every battle as a new work of art, a new reason to keep living, for another story was about to be written as the competitors stared each other in the eyes before combat. Known for being a very artistic, poetic person, Sokolov seceded from the Janissaries with many like-minded individuals, forming the Khuzos. The Khuzos are far less competitive than the other factions, and prefer to only fight when absolutely necessary or instructed. They are best known for their grace, aptitude, and poise while performing in a fight, taking extra care that each and every one of their moves is exactly how it should be. A fight is not just a way to injure another, it is a way to bring beauty into the world, they say. Faction Mascot: Danya the Dervish Dancer (https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/3f/02/d6/3f02d65cf5d52cd4ad8fee6d0d6a3c10.jpg).

Founded only two years ago, Hijos de la Sabiduría does not generally concern itself with fighting. The average member fights as little as possible, often only participating in the bare minimum number of bouts and the exam tournament that takes place at the end of each semester. The reasoning for this is that they believe a sharp mind leads to a sharp body as well. As such, the Imperius Gloria particularly enjoy making examples of this faction with every opportunity they receive. Members of this faction are incredibly bright, and some are capable of quickly analyzing their opponents for errors or weaknesses. However, the lesser degree of focus on the physical aspect of fighting leads many of them to be unable to capitalize on what they figure out. Regardless, the group has grown significantly since being founded. Collaboration with the Khuzos is not unheard of for this faction, as the two seem to get along better than any other pairing. Faction Mascot: Genioso the Owl (http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/yakuza-mob-roleplay/images/e/e5/640x768_5891_Karine_The_Cat_Owl_2d_fantasy_owl_nig ht_picture_image_digital_art.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20140927160553).

Not so much a real faction as a catch-all for students attending New Peaks via the school's numerous outreach and low-income scholarship programs, Mendicants are only called such as an insult by the more financially-sound students of the school. Still, in recent years the lower-income students have begun to band together under this name and seem to wear it as a badge of honor, shoving it in the faces of their wealthy peers. Despite this recent mobilization, New Peaks has yet to officially recognize this group of less-fortunates as a true faction, a weapon Imperius Gloria holds over their heads daily. Mendicants can be members of the other four factions, though a Mendicant being accepted into Imperius Gloria is incredibly rare.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Alternative Lifeforms

Due to magical influences... or on rare occasions, genetic experiments, it's possible that some people have developed nonhuman features such as horns, tails, scales, etc. The term "Parahuman" is the politically correct one, but they can also be called things like half breeds, subhumans, beast folk, etc. Cases of alternative lifeforms are uncommon, but they are generally treated unfairly. Especially in "civilized" parts of the world. Just make sure they didn't get their abilities through drinking the blood of innocents, experimenting on unwilling test subjects, etc. and it should be fine. Well, legally fine, but you still might be treated poorly by other students.

Some animals are given intelligence and humanoid qualities this way, but due to how silly it might make things if kung-fu ducks start appearing, I'm going to have to disallow stuff like this in most cases.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Rules

I may or may not add more rules to this list as it comes to my attention. I may have forgotten some things.

1. No weapons are allowed in standard battles with the exception of magically created/summoned weapons. You may bring out any sort of weapons in unofficial battles, but prepare yourself for the consequences when you are caught. There are a few special tournaments that allow certain qualified weapons, such as shinai for the kendo tournament, so if there are multiple characters who make use of the same weapon, ask me about it and I may organize a tournament or special event for them. The weapon cannot be overly lethal such as steel-blades swords, heavy maces, spears, etc. Such weapons will be blunted, wooden, etc.

2. No killing or severely damaging your opponents without approval of the GM and the player you're facing. This includes rupturing organs, splintering bones, snapping necks, severe burns, freezing, etc. If you carry out an attack with such a capability and have no intention of stopping, Any judge present can stop them without fail, no matter what. As a result, your character may suffer realistic punishments. If it was an accident and only something that would wound and not kill them then it will be pretty lenient, but if your character is intentionally trying to kill their fellow students then don't expect them to be around very long unless they're really good at covering this up. They can still take part in unofficial battles though. There will be a very talented school nurse on site who can pretty much magically heal wounds most people can't, but is not able to heal everything. Get kicked in the chest and crack your sternum, it's still going to take at least a few days to heal... magic or not.

3. No other official rules exist in battle besides the first two rules and stopping when the judges say to. Granted, rule number 2 does encompass quite a bit of things that would be illegal. Other mid-fight rules are to be decided between the players who are fighting.

4. New Peaks Academy follows the rules of the country it was started by, this being the USA. As such, no student may consume alcohol as they are all under 21, and no student may smoke tobacco unless they are 18. Staff members may do so, and can purchase such things at the stores on the island. Any STUDENT who is caught with this sort of contraband will be punished accordingly. There are also no drugs permitted on the island, and severe punishments are handed down to any student caught with narcotics or paraphernelia. This is in addition to the investigation that will commence to find out HOW they got it.

5. Don't keep your opponent waiting on a post for more than three days unless you give proper warning beforehand. If not then your opponent can deal moderate damage to them, but not enough to incapacitate them. If three more days pass and they still haven't posted, you may then be incapacitated and thus lose the fight.

6. Winning the battle can be stopping your foe from being able to fight, getting them to surrender, withholding what would have been a crippling blow but making it evident that you could have done so, or knocking them out. Unlike real life, suspension of disbelief allows people to be knocked unconscious for extended periods without suffering traumatic brain injury (unless that is your desired outcome). Therefore, knockouts are treated as perfectly normal, valid methods of winning.

7. Put “First Rule of Fight School, don't fail Fight School” at the end of your CS so that I know you read these rules.

8. You may have up to two characters. If you want one to be an instructor/teacher, PM me and we can discuss it.

9. You may have a student transfer to the school at any time or just pretend they were always there. It's a big school, so maybe your guy/girl just didn't get noticed too much before you made them into a Player Character.

10. Being a Private School, tuition at New Peaks is not cheap. Please note if your character is from a wealthy family, or at New Peaks on a Scholarship of some sort.

11. Players don't have to post every day, but I expect at least one post per week per player in order to keep things moving at a steady pace.

12. Cooperative posts are encouraged. If you do not know how to do a co-post or what a co-post even is, Just ask.

13. This is not a place for those who make short posts. Posts will be two paragraphs or longer unless there is almost nothing for you to respond to. If that is the case, talk to your fellow players and try to GET something to respond to.. Violating this rule once will result in a warning. Repeat violations may result in removal from the RP.

14. Players are free to come up with names for the various stores or restaurants on the island, as well as what KIND of stores they are. This is to be kept reasonable, of course. I am able to overturn the creation of any buildings that are too odd or don't fit the setting. Similarly, players may also make and control lesser NPCs to make their posts seem more interactive and realistic for a busy school setting. Major NPCs such as Teachers may not be made or controlled without prior GM permission.

Fighting Style: (Students may have one martial arts style if they specialize in it, and be up to Black-Belt Level, or two styles if they want to have a broader skill-set, but may not be black-belt in either one)

Powers: (Low-Tier neat powers. Nothing like “I can hurl fireballs that consume my foes” or “I can see attacks before they even happen, and react as fast as lightning”.)

Personality:(At least one paragraph of detail, please. “Shy and timid” means “please send this character home to their family”)

Background: (At least three paragraphs here, please.)

---------------------------------------------------------------

You may also submit an I.D. for judges/instructors. Rather then "Grade", type in "Occupation", exclude Rank and I.D. number, and up their age limit to whatever. These guys and gals obviously don't fight under most circumstances. The instructors can be used for training students, to further plots between players, etc.

Established Student NPCs

http://i62.tinypic.com/xljmeh.jpg

Elias is a third-year student of B-1 Rank, a mid-ranking member of the Hijos de la Sabuduria faction, a veritable genius when it comes to computers, and has strong ties to the Imperius Gloria faction. Originally hailing from Greece, his family later moved to Thailand when he was only six years old after his father's business moved their headquarters there. Elias is a practitioner of Muay Lert Rit ('http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lerdrit'), and holds a Black Band ('http://doubledosemma.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/TBA-armband-ranking-system-052213.jpg') in the style.

Personality: Elias is a bit of a "snake-in-the-grass" kind of guy. He's polite enough in most circumstances, but there is always an ulterior motive behind it. Why? Simple. He loves to manipulate people and see how they respond.

Power: Smokescreen - Elias can convert his aura/energy/chi into an opaque field similar to fog or smoke. This effect can fill an area as large as 2000 cubic feet (an area somewhat larger than there is within the back of a large U-Haul truck) at most before it thins drastically and is not as effective. He usually uses smaller and more concentrated bursts of smoke to directly obscure the vision of his foes by thrusting the smoke in their faces.

Siu is a Second-year Student of Rank B-2, and a mid-ranking member of Imperius Gloria. She is a natural at the martial arts, trained since age five by People's Republic of China after her parents put her up for adoption. Already having one child, they had no choice but to do so according to local law. Shortly thereafter, Siu was 'adopted' and trained by government officials. She was tested daily in the physical and mental arts, and taught only to accept the best from herself. Years later she was sent off to New Peaks to show the Glory of the People's Republic. She is a practitioner of Nanshequan ('http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snake_Kung_Fu#Southern_Style') (Southern Snake ('https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26pMFQVd__4')) and is 2nd Dan Black Belt.

Personality: Siu was mentally conditioned to love the Party and to take nothing less than victory. To that end, she will do all in her power to win, no matter the cost or the consequences. Noticeably, she lacks a self-preservation instinct, and has been sent to the infirmary many times, and usually wins fights through sheer ferocity.

She is cunning and calculating, willing to exploit any weakness, stoop to any level to win. That is all there is in her mind, nothing else matters. Win, and bring glory to the Party. Anything less is failure, and failure is not acceptable.

Power: Steel Keratin - Her hair and nails, while maintaining their lightness and flexibility, have taken on the durability of high-carbon steel, to the point where she needs to use power tools to cut her hair and nails. These, she uses as weapons. She keeps her nails sharp as a rule, but before sanctioned fights, she has them honed to a scalpel-sharp edge. She has also found a way to use her hair as a weapon, making many little whip-like braids that she can injure her opponent with.

Because of this mutation, her fingers, toes, and their nailbeds have also strengthened, to prevent/reduce accidental injury.

Other: Siu left New Peaks Academy after the Holiday Tournament, citing family troubles as the reason for her departure.

Powerfully built and quicker than he appears, Dan Williams is a Second-Year C3-Rank student at New Peaks Academy who is not affiliated with any of the factions. Son of a wealthy land-owner in Texas, Dan was given everything a boy could want. But while his dad wanted him to go into football, Dan just couldn't keep out of fights in elementary school... so he started taking lessons in American Kickboxing. By the time he got into middle school, Dan's grades were on the rise again and he was on the fast track to stardom... until he heard about New Peaks Academy and pestered his dad to send him there for High School.

Personality: Dan is as American as apple pie and as subtle as an Abrams tank. even his clothes show off how patriotic he is. Sure, there's no way he could have been in the armed forces... but that doesn't stop him from wearing a bomber jacket and decking it out with a bunch of fake medals... AND having his name stitched into it. Mess with Dan, and you mess with AMERICA.

Hailing from England, Francesca is a gifted 15 year old Yellow-Glove (Expert) Savateur currently ranking in at C3 after starting the year at D2. Crawling her way out of a rough childhood in Blackpool, she began learning Savate at the age of nine when she ran away from her abusive mother and hid inside a gym. After a lengthy court case, her mother lost custody and she was adopted by the gym's owner in a widely publicized gesture of human kindness. After all, the media eats that stuff up. It was this very thing that brought her to the attention of New Peaks scouts, who have since given her a full-ride scholarship as another token of good will.

Personality: While she is a nice girl and tries to be polite, being given so much for the sake of "looking good" as she calls it... has taken a toll on her demeanor. If she feels she is being patronized or mocked, she gets very vocal and even hostile on rare occasions.

Power: Low-Frequency Growl - Francesca can emit a sound far below the levels human ears can detect. These low frequency sounds can cause nausea and disorientation. However, she cannot release these sounds for more than a few seconds at a time without damaging her larynx.

Thabisa is a parahuman (Antelope) girl born in South Africa. Her parents are owners of a successful Safari resort in the northern region of the country, and very proud of how far their daughter has come in life. A skilled Engolo (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engolo) fighter, she has reached the rank of D1. However, she must wear plastic caps on her horns during fights, for the safety of her opponents.

Personality: While she was initially a bit shy, given her status as a parahuman... Thabisa has made great strides in her life since coming to New Peaks Academy. Averaging a 3.5GPA and with a record of 14-10, she's shown that parahumans are just as capable as anyone else. As such, he confidence is booming and she is generally very cheerful and easy to get along with.

Miranda Walsh is a fifteen year old 1st Year student at New Peaks Academy, Brown-Belt practitioner of Kajukenbo, and holds a rank of C3. An odd case, Miranda is a skilled young martial artist who was injured in a car accident last year and stuck in a coma. Her father was told she would likely never wake up. Not content to let his only daughter die, Mr. Walsh (owner of several profitable casinos in Las Vegas) paid for a highly experimental procedure with only a small chance of success. The procedure would replace over 75% of Miranda's body with robotic components.

The procedure was a success, and Miranda came out of the coma shortly after it was finished. Only her head and upper torso remained from her original body. As a result, she has slightly enhanced strength, speed, and durability. While some might say it grants her an unfair advantage, her reaction times and range of motion are still very human. She also is not an artificial intelligence, as her mind is the same as before the accident.

Personality: Miranda now believes she can survive anything. After enduring a terrible car wreck, a coma, and a series of experimental surgeries... why wouldn't she? Now that she can run faster, jump higher, and fight harder than before, Miranda has all the confidence in the world. However, this only applies to athletic endeavors. Socially, she feels like a freak. She doesn't think any boys will like her (because she can't do things other girls can), she thinks everyone stares at her, and she refuses to join any factions for fear of being singled out or picked on.

Power: Cybernetic Body (Enhanced Strength, Speed, and Durability)
DRAWBACKS: Needs connected to a 220v Power Supply for a minimum of 4hrs per day, receive nutrition intravenously, and undergo dialysis three times a week.

Matt
https://nesterthelark.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/gm_terrybogard.jpg?w=595
Brett

Matt is ranked at D1, Brett Elspeth is ranked at C2. Brett is one year Matt's senior, but waited to join New Peaks with his brother so that they could learn and develop together. After their mother died in Matt's childbirth, their father became the sole caretaker of the brothers. Unable to cope with her death, he began drinking heavily by the time Brett had turned six. As a result, much of their childhood was spent doing chores, being abused by a drunk father, and often caring for themselves when their dad went out drinking or passed out in a stupor. On Brett's thirteenth birthday, their father was admitted to the hospital after drinking far too much at his birthday party. He died of alcohol poisoning not six hours later.

Left to fend for themselves on the streets for two years, Matt and Brett would often find themselves in seedy restaurants and bars to find their food and drink. One night, the two of them watched a kickboxing championship on grainy, low-definition television in a dive bar. Though the definition was low, their interest was high, and soon they returned every Saturday to watch the fights. Brett never got over the kickboxing championship, and soon went to the library every other day to watch videos and train himself in the art. Matt, however, couldn't really decide on a fighting style; in the end, he partially copied his brother and visited the library with him, though there are hints of boxing and karate thrown in his fighting style as well.

The brothers got their chance in the spotlight when a New Peaks recruiter, already having completed his visit to London to interview a potential prodigy, spotted the brothers fighting off some rowdy hobos in an alley, sending them flying further than boys their age honestly should. Intrigued, he took the boys aside, offering them a chance to improve their lives at New Peaks if they could impress the instructors as they had impressed him. Leaping at the opportunity, the Elspeth brothers flew to New Peaks, showcasing their unique strengths to the judges. However, when asked to perform individually, both refused: They had decided two years ago that they would never fight alone, and they weren't going to change that rule just for the judges. This concerned them; after a controversial meeting, it was decided they would receive a 'young prodigy' scholarship to New Peaks. However, it is not a full scholarship; the boys are often pressed for money, and work shifts in the market area as often as possible to cover the remaining costs.

Personalities: Brett's your typical jock. Overconfident in his own abilities, loves meat and working out. He's got a soft spot for classical music and has a love for anything deep-fried. Matt's a coward without Brett around. Tends to look to him for all his advice. Has a thing for Mexican food, and is a distance runner. He's arrogant when he has his brother for backup.

Power: Brotherly Bond: When the Elspeths are within 2-3 meters of each other, their strength is increased a moderate amount. When separated, it decreases until they are close again.

A First-Year student of D1-Ranking, Kensley is the son of a wealthy Danish stock-broker. Losing his father at a young age, his mother's high-paying career ensured the fact they wouldn't struggle despite the loss. As a son to a wealthy family, Kensley always got the best education, food, and toys that money could buy. Like many young children, he developed an interest in the martial arts after seeing it on television. Knowing that learning a martial art would help her son develop a healthy lifestyle, Kensley's mother paid for a master of Hwa Rang Do ('https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hwa_Rang_Do') to be flown in from Korea to live on-site and train her son in the art.

With frequent lessons and a strong interest in the art, Kensley reached "Cho-Dan" rank at the age of 14. It was then that he heard of New Peaks Academy. Knowing he wanted to learn even more about martial arts, he pestered his mother until she relented and agreed to send him to the prestigious school. To his amazement, many of the students were just as skilled or MORE skilled than he was. That cemented it in his mind... New Peaks was where he belonged. Now all that was left was to show everyone what he could do.

Personality: Kensley is rather arrogant despite his relatively average ranking. While he knows he isn't the toughest or strongest, he always brushes off his failures and claims some circumstance had hindered the outcome. In addition to the fact he brushes off failures like a child, he has been known to resort to unfair tactics on occasion. His favorite is acting like he is more hurt than he really is to take his foes off-guard... then deliver a punishing kick or punch. In general, he is the typical entitled rich kid.

An eighteen year old Senior Student at New Peaks Academy, Kyle holds the advanced ranking of A1. Though asked to join several clubs at New Peaks, Kyle has always stayed independent. He has harnessed his gift and worked his way to be one of the top fighters in the school. Son of investment bankers of English and Filipino descent (father and mother, respectively), Kyle has slightly tanned skin which some describe as 'alluring' or 'dreamy'. Kyle is well aware of this fact, but does his best not to take advantage of it.

But how did he come to be at New Peaks? Kyle would tell you it was destiny. It was by chance that he happened to stumble upon the information. He has always been a fighter even at a young age and when news of a school training fighters and being dedicated to fighting how could he not join? His parents didn't object, they knew their son wanted to learn from the best of the best, and they hoped this school would provide the best of the best.

His dad feels very proud of his son and couldn't be happier about his success at school, but wishes that he wasn't quite so impulsive sometimes. After all, fines for the various times Kyle has been caught breaking school rules are not cheap. His mother is simply glad that her son is doing what makes him happiest in life, and has nothing but praise for her child.

Personality: Kyle is an accepting individual who loves to have fun. Not one for rules, he loves going against the grain of social norms. His motto is "Fuck being normal". He has dated both females and males, and can be humble at times... despite the fact his parents are so wealthy they could buy a small country. Out of all the seniors at New Peaks, Kyle is the more approachable one as well as one of the most liked and well known. However, Kyle can be jealous around whomever he is in a relationship with, once breaking another student's nose for talking to his previous boyfriend.

An 18 year old Senior with a rank of A-1, Boris Kovalyov has extensive knowledge of Russian Combat Sambo. While Sambo has no official rankings, many would say Boris was once good enough to compete on an international stage. Son of a military man and a stay-at-home mother, Boris' life was heading down a road of mediocrity. That is, until a group of kids started hassling him nearly every day. Boris struck back by beaming one of them in the skull with a rock one afternoon. His father was eventually informed, and gave Boris the beating of his life... but not for knocking the other kid out.

"If you must fight, do not use weapons. This is all the weapon you should need. If no one has guns, then all you need is the ultimate weapon... yourself." a few more slaps and a boot in the ass, and Boris was sent to his room for the night. Still, that lesson changed the young man's outlook. If his dad was that strong and said that the body was the ultimate weapon, maybe he could learn to be just as tough. Maybe he could learn how to make his body the ultimate weapon that his old man spoke of.

And learn he did. St. Petersburg had several Sambo gyms, and Boris began attending one when he was 11 years old. Four years later, he was seen in a local demonstration event by a New Peaks scout who was vacationing in the city. Given the "Young Masters" scholarship, Boris shipped out with his parents' blessing.

Three years at New Peaks Academy went smoothly, until the Holiday Tournament of his Senior Year. In the semi-final match of the championship round, Boris took a kick to the spine that rendered him paralyzed from the waist-down. The entire school rallied behind him, donating money and time to make sure he did not fall behind on his tuition and ensuring his family would not suffer for their son's new disability. Currently he is still a student at the school, but no longer fights.

An 18 year old Senior with a rank of S3, Sasha is a force to be reckoned with at New Peaks Academy. She is a 4th-Dan Black Belt in Byakuren Kaikan Karate ('https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byakuren_Kaikan'), and one of the more upstanding members of the Janissaries at New Peaks. Born to a Turkish mother and Polish father, both highly devout Christians living in Czestochowa, Poland. As a result of her parents' strong faith, Sasha had to endure quite a sheltered upbringing. However, when her father was caught smuggling opium and her mother pegged as an accomplice, Sasha was sent to the United States to live with her aunt and uncle (both of whom are savvy stock traders) in New York City.

From this point on, Sasha was given much more freedom. She was even allowed to attend public schools! At the age of 11, Sasha started to learn Byakuren Kaikan karate from a martial arts academy near her home. Why? Initially because she wanted to be like the Power Rangers, and keep her aunt and uncle safe from 'bad guys'. However, she soon learned that the martial arts were not for kicking ass, but for building oneself up physically, mentally, and spiritually. Since then, she has become an incredibly kind and benevolent young woman whose good manners and kindness are only rivaled by her martial prowess.

At the age of 14, Sasha achieved her 1st-Dan Black Belt. That same week, she won a Junior City-Wide Kumite against 25 other teenage martial artists... and subsequently caught the eye of a New Peaks recruiter. Adamant about attending such an awesome school, Sasha pleaded with her aunt and uncle to let her go. They knew it would be beneficial for the young girl, so they gladly wrote the recruiter a check to cover her first year of tuition that very same day. The rest, as they say, is history.

Personality: Sasha is a kind and forgiving young woman with a penchant for picking flowers in one of the two parks on the island. She will often spend time with New Peaks' less wealthy students, getting to know them and even buying things for them on occasion. When not in class or spending time with the Mendicants, Sasha enjoys listening to classical music and learning how to play it. She also takes part in tabletop gaming every weekend with a small circle of friends.

Power: Chill Touch - Sasha can cool the air within a few centimeters of her body, and use it to accentuate her strikes. The coldest recorded temperature she has achieved is measured at -60 degrees centigrade, enough to cause frostbite very quickly to unprotected skin. However, this chilled air seems to have no effect on Sasha herself, who says she feels no cold from it at all.

Other: Since turning 18, Sasha has picked up smoking. As it is not illegal for someone 18 years of age, she is allowed to do so while outdoors on campus.

Anna is a former New Peaks Academy Student and the current World History teacher. Before her graduation from New Peaks, she was the first of only six students in the school's twenty year history to reach the rank of S1. She was also one of the founding members of Imperius Gloria. Her father investing a large sum toward building Imperius Hall. Upon graduating with a teaching degree from San Diego State University ('http://www.sdsu.edu/'), she returned to New Peaks and was hired into her current position. In addition to her teaching degree, she is ranked at 6th Degree Black Belt in Ba Ji Quan ('https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZqdb5fyc2M'), a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Pi Gua Quan (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaWQ2raX0Qg) and licensed to teach Ba Ji Quan to others.

Personality: On the rare occasion she can be convinced to fight, Anna is a dangerous foe. While she was a student, no less than 40 fights were stopped by a judge due to her attempting to inflict severe damage to her opponent. Outside of combat, she is as tame as a nursing kitten. It is assumed she has a very deeply ingrained psychological problem that makes her behave differently under intense stress. Since graduation, she has been using medication to control her emotions, and it has worked wonders. However... she is still a force to be reckoned with if riled. As a teacher, she does not abide by goofing around. Many students have been fined or otherwise penalized for not paying attention or otherwise behaving improperly in her class.

Power: Blood Control - Anna can control her blood as easily as she can breathe, generally forming claws and a thin armor over her hands and arms. This blood is then solidified and becomes as hard as the iron contained in her red blood cells. When severely pressed, she has been seen to redirect the blood from these claws into a very thin sheen of armor over her entire body, tinting her skin a faint red in the process.

One of the staff members of New Peaks not to have graduated from the school herself. After having discovered at a young age that merely her touch could help with healing even the most injured, Layla was immediately placed into nurse training at a young age. She showed fantastic affinity for the subject, entering the University of Washington at the young age of 16 and easily passing all her medical courses. Upon graduation, she went out in search of work, finding that an offshore fighting school was in search of talented nurses for their constantly injured fighters. She decided to give them a try, and wowed her recruiters with her unique power. Now, she serves as the head of the New Peaks medical ward, serving her students as best she can.

Personality: Layla is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. She has a shy air about her, though she has no issues with talking to strangers. She takes personal enjoyment in seeing students heal and recover, which makes her job truly satisfying to her. Though she received little formal training, watching the students and teachers closely over the years here at New Peaks has taught her many things about martial arts, enough to earn her a purple belt in Taekwondo. However, she despises fighting herself despite enjoying watching it, and will avoid it at all costs if possible.

Power: Clinical Hands
Layla can channel her energy into her hands, causing them to glow with a faint blue aura. When touching another person, her energy seeks out injuries and illnesses in the body, and stimulates the appropriate cells to speed up their recovery process. Healing is not instantaneous, but will take considerably less time; a broken bone may take only a few days to heal under her power, as opposed to weeks otherwise. This sped up healing continues until the injury or sickness in question is defeated, even if she is not touching the person. Once the healing process is complete, the body's cells return to a normal state.

Cameron Ballard grew up in Washington D.C. and was a common sight at an assisted living center when he was younger. His grandfather was a resident, and between school and savate lessons, Cameron spent most of his free time there assisting his grandpa and other residents. After his grandfather passed away, Cameron began attending New Peaks Academy. His final rank at graduation was A-3, and he went on to pursue a teaching degree and return to New Peaks. While he was obtaining his teaching degree, he met his wife, Mia Sandoval; and the two married three years ago in a ceremony held at New Peaks Academy's "Bokator Beach". Cameron is a highly skilled practitioner of Savate and a holder of the rank of Professeur (Gold Gloves), as well as a licensed instructor of the art. He is currently a Chemistry Teacher at the Academy.

Personality: Always worrying about others before worrying about himself, Cameron is a model teacher and role model. When he is not teaching or tending to his administrative duties, he can often be found tutoring students who are struggling; both academically as well as those who are struggling to win fights.

Power: None

Mia Ballard-Sandoval is a former New Peaks Academy student originally hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota. She lost her right eye in a hunting accident when she was a child. Her rifle kicked back when she fired at a deer, causing the scope to hit her and dealing irreparable damage to the eye on impact. This did not affect her outlook on life, however. In fact, she showed that she was every bit as capable as anyone else. She obtained her Kadua (1st-Dan Black Belt) in Pencak Silat shortly after she began attending school at New Peaks Academy, reached the rank of A-2 before graduation, and has since returned after obtaining her teaching degree in advanced mathematics. In the process, she met her husband and fellow New Peaks Instructor; Cameron Ballard. Her skill in Silat also increased and she is now a Katalungan (4th-Dan Black Belt) in the art. She is currently the Calculus Teacher at New Peaks Academy.

Personality: While Mia shares her husband's desire to help others, she is of the opinion that people should first show they can help themselves at least to SOME degree before they are worth the help of others. Her demeanor is described by some as cold, but by others as kind and motherly. This is likely because she simply refuses to help students who refuse to try resolving issues themselves and prefer to rely on others, but is more than happy to help those who have given their best effort and just need a helping hand.

At 6'11" and a very muscular 352lbs, Weiss is incredibly intimidating from a physical standpoint. Those who know him will tell you that the big man is as friendly as they come. Weiss is known for helping out students who are struggling, as well as just being there if they need someone to talk to. He also is the head of the Janissaries faction, as well as the head Gym Teacher at New Peaks Academy.

Known for taking Janissaries members out to the various restaurants after they do something great, taking time out of his own workouts or training sessions to help others train, and generally being a well-meaning busybody... Weiss is popular among New Peaks' less wealthy students. This has drawn him some ire from a few wealthy investors who feel he is favoring the poor over those who keep New Peaks operating, but he always dismisses these accusations.

A skilled fighter, Weiss is a 1st Dan Black Belt in Jiujutsu and Tiger Kung Fu, and brings his past as a Professional Wrestler to the mix as well. The end result is an unusual but very effective combination of powerful strikes and grapples.

Power: Ki Infusion - Weiss may empower his hands, feet, knees, elbows, and even his head with an amount of Ki Energy. This somewhat increases the power of the blow or the speed of the counter-attack that he is empowering. He can only do this approximately twenty times per day before becoming fatigued, and further use of the ability causes more and more damage to his body.

Name spelled as "Тимур Левич Захарьин" in Russian

http://i.imgur.com/QWwLypf.jpg

At 61 years old, many would think Timur to be insane for working as Head of Security at a huge Combat School. However, he is tough as nails and as serious as they come. In addition, he is an incredibly skilled practitioner of Systema ('https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Systema'), and a licensed instructor of the style.

Born to a Military family, Timur followed his father's footsteps by becoming a soldier. After fighting in the Soviet-Afghan war, he became a hand-to-hand instructor for the Soviet Army. Some say he earned the position by engaging six hostiles in melee combat simultaneously... and winning. Regardless... as the Cold War raged, Timur grew more and more frustrated by the lack of decisive action.

When the standoff ended, he was as relieved as he was frustrated. To make matters worse... the Soviet Union had collapsed and he was soon out of a job. Angered by this, he did something extreme... he sold his combat expertise to the Americans. For a few years, he was in the same position as he was in the USSR. A hand-to-hand instructor in the military. A few years after Operation Desert Storm, he was honorably discharged and approached by New Peaks Academy. He quickly agreed to work as their head of security, and has been in that position since 1999.

Personality: No nonsense and uncompromising, Timur is an ideal man to head up the security at New Peaks Academy. The rules and regulations are treated as military doctrine to him, and anyone breaking it under his watch is likely going to spend time in the Detention Hall. Thankfully, he is often very busy coordinating security details and is rarely out on campus. He does not afford himself many pleasures, save singing the Russian National Anthem ('https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOAtz8xWM0w') every morning, in honor of the country he still loves... despite it having let him down years ago.

Timur speaks fluent Russian and English.

Power: Being Russian

The 33-year old manager of the high end Sicilian Restaurant called "Siciliano Plaza", Marie attended and graduated New Peaks for her entire high school career, having been put there by her rich franchise-owning parents as part of their deal opening their restaurant on campus. Marie worked there for her entire time in New Peaks, and once she graduated and her brothers took over the chain, she stayed there as the manager of this particular branch. She was never very good with fighting, attaining a maximum ranking of B3 and only earning her 2nd Dan after she had graduated from New Peaks. Her style of choice is Kun Gek Do ('http://www.fullcontactmartialarts.org/kun-gek-do-korean-kickboxing.html').

She has been managing the restaurant for a very long time, now, and has established a rather good standing with the other staff, as well as a wonderful reputation with the students. Despite being a little on the expensive side, her restaurant is one of the most popular places to eat in New Peaks, both with staff and students alike. Marie herself is known as one of the best service providers on the island, and is personal friends with much of the student body, as well as many of the staff members.

However, she is particularly infamous for her rather explosive temper and her willingness to fight even other staff members over her restaurants honor, despite having a poor track record with physical combat. While few complaints make it to her (mostly for this reason), she is known to handle problems very seriously, often doing anything she can in order to make a single customer happy. She trains her staff as well as she can and prides herself in how well they do, no matter who they may be.

Personality: Marie is a very kind and understanding individual, seeking only to please her customers as best she is able. She takes immense pride in her (rather successful) restaurant, and considers the other staff something close to family. While having her 2nd Dan in Kun Gek Do, she does not like to fight and actively discourages it while in her restaurant, though she does not mind it occurring outside. She will fight to defend her staff and her restaurant with her life, if necessary.

Power: Empathy - Marie has a psychic understanding of peoples emotions and their feelings, allowing her to read both her opponents and customers. She is able to understand a piece of what makes her targets emotions what they currently are, and is also able to find out how to influence them. This manipulation is not air tight, however, and can backfire occasionally. However, it does not happen often, as Marie is very adept at psychological warfare, be it pleasing her customers or throwing her opponents off balance.

Here are my GM Characters.

Name: Vincento Sarconni de Palermo (Vincent for short)
I.D. Number: 63984623
Rank: B3
Year: Freshman
Nationality: Italian
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Appearance:

http://i.imgur.com/h3FRT7N.png

Fighting Style: Hapkido, 2nd Degree Black Belt

Powers: Focused Eidetic Memory*

( * Vincent's memory does not apply to the usual applications of a being with the ability to remember an incredible range of things that they witness, such as one who witnesses a car crash remembering the angle of the impact, speed, etc. Rather, Vincent's memory applies to motions of the human body. As such, he is able to memorize a person's movements and replicate them in only a few attempts. However, replicating a fighting style is much more complex than a couple kicks or strikes, as such he cannot simply copy a foe's combat style.

Thanks to this, he is not only an accomplished fighter... but an incredible dancer as well. He is as much a fan of fighting as he is of ballroom dancing. He can also play a violin or piano with moderate skill, though remembering and imitating the fine movements of a person's fingers is much harder than a kick or punch or spin... so his musical skill is mostly learned from his mother's teachings. )

Additional Information: Vincent speaks both Italian and English fluently

Personality: Vincent is an intelligent kid, but not what most would call a genius by any means. His true gift isn't in the field of education, but of human bodies in motion. His skill in combat martial arts and dancing leads him to be highly confident in himself. He is polite of course, wanting to live up to the expectations of his family. But being away from them, he is also prone to an occasional fit of selfishness or immaturity.

His pranks and self-indulgence rarely harm anyone, but he tends to forget that what comes around goes around. One day, someone might catch HIM in a prank or inconvenience him with their own selfishness. Still, he's generally a fun person to be around. He likes to sing, dance, play video games, and of course... flirt with girls.

Background: Born to a wealthy family of vintners in Palermo, Vincent grew up having everything he could ever want. What he wanted was to be like the heroes he read about in comics and watched on cartoons. So, at the young age of eight, his parents enrolled him in martial arts classes. Choosing was the hardest part, but when the family went to the various dojos in the area... Vincento saw a man leaping over a bunch of other people and instantly thought of the cartoon heroes he wanted to emulate.

That was the first time he witnessed the athleticism of a Hapkido practitioner. Even at this young age, it quickly became apparent that Vincento had a gift for learning the art. He progressed quickly through the belts in a time that many thought impossible for a child so young. New techniques were a snap to learn, as well. He watched diligently when the sensei showed a new technique to the students a few times... and generally had the move learned to the point of using it in combat by the end of class.

So quickly did he advance through the belts, that he was a 2nd Dan Black Belt at the age of fourteen, a feat that was almost unheard of. His parents knew at that point that their son shouldn't be held back in something he was so skilled at... so much like a child entering a vocational program for something like an engineering trade, Vincent was enrolled in New Peaks Academy for his Freshman year of High-School.

He was elated. He was intimidated. He was scared. He was excited. So many emotions surged through the teen as he sat at the port and awaited his ferry to the island. But this was an incredible opportunity for him. He could learn so much at New Peaks. Not just academically, but also in regard to his martial arts... and his unusual gift to learn new fighting techniques. As such, he finally calmed himself and was ready for what lay in store.

… or so he thought, as he stepped off the boat at New Peaks Academy.

Since arriving and being given a C2-Ranking, he has been a frequent patron of the New Peaks hospital. He has been in many fights, and emerged victorious from a fair number of them. He placed 2nd in the Holiday Tournament, losing in the final bout after his foot was broken by the elbow-block of his opponent but receiving a promotion to B3-Rank for his strong showing at the event. He also took part in the charity auction after the tournament, purchasing an antique copy of The Great Gatsby for a substantial sum.

Now he prepares himself for the Summer Tournament. Will he do as well as he did last year? Only time will tell.

Name: Shotaro Yanmei
I.D. Number: 83275937
Rank: S1
Year: Senior
Nationality: Singaporean/American
Age: 18
Sex/Gender: Male

Appearance: http://i.imgur.com/G36ZXBH.png

Fighting Style: Taekwondo - 5th Dan Black Belt

Powers: High Tension - When in combat, Shotaro can choose to flood his body with up to three times the adrenaline most people could even tolerate. This leads to his reactions being faster, his strikes being more powerful, and his overall fighting ability increasing in proportion to the amount of adrenaline he forces into his system. There is of course a drawback to such an overwhelmingly powerful ability. First of which, this is a short-term boost lasting no longer than a minute. Secondly, Shotaro's metabolism is accelerated after using this ability. This causes him to binge eat after most of his fights. Lastly, his heart rate stays high for a minimum of an hour, he becomes very short of breath, and his muscles ache tremendously. While repeated uses of this ability can briefly mitigate the negatives, doing so would have cumulative and possibly fatal effects.

Personality: Headstrong and Brash, Shotaro is not afraid to let others know what is on his mind. He knows he's among the strongest of the strong at New Peaks Academy and is not afraid to show it. Someone pisses him off? He challenges them to a fight. They refuse? They get fought anyway. Sure, he might have to take a day or two off from a suspension or pay a fine... but frankly, it isn't HIS money that pays those fines anymore. So why would he care? He's the cream of the crop. He's the top of the top. He's an elite among elites. If you don't like him, that isn't his problem.

Background: Despite being from the country with the highest percentage of millionaires (one in six households), Shotaro's family was one of the few who were geniunely poor. This was mostly due to his mother, who had been found trafficking drugs when the Shotaro was only seven years old. Laws regarding drugs are incredibly strict in Singapore, and as a result the sentence was death. This tainted his family to some extent, as Shotaro's father quit working during the case to support his wife... and was unable to find work for three months afterward. It was often assumed he had a part in his wife's dealings, despite evidence to the contrary.

The lapse in employment was devastating considering the cost of living in Singapore, and Shotaro's father decided they would move to America. Still deeply wounded over the loss of his mother, Shotaro fell into a spiral of misbehavior and rebellion almost immediately upon relocating to the city of Houston, Texas. Not wanting his son to develop further bad habits and behaviors, Mr. Yanmei enrolled Shotaro into Taekwondo classes in order to give him an outlet for his evergy and aggression, as well as to teach the boy discipline and responsibility. This proved to be a very good decision, as young Shotaro took to the sport like a fish to water.

Every single week, Shotaro was eager to go to class. Every week, he came home tired and sweaty. His behavior improved, his grades stayed reasonably high, and the tensions at home were reduced significantly.

Fast forward six years. Shotaro is in the 8th grade and recently earned his 1st-Dan Black Belt. Many of his peers were jealous to hear this, and bragged that they knew a black belt. This of course attracted the attention of kids who thought that was a lie or thought they were tougher than some "power ranger wannabe". One day after school let out, four boys approached Shotaro and tossed their backpacks to the ground. "Come on, pussy. Show us your power ranger kicks. It's morphin' time!" they teased. Shotaro just wished they'd go away and leave him alone, and tried to walk past. One pushed him back and said "Oh... does ums wanna go cry to ums mommy? Oh right. You don't have a mommy." That was when it all went red.

Adrenaline flooded Shotaro's body. He felt a rush unlike anything a boy his age could ever hope to feel. The bully who pushed him? A swift kick to the side of the head ensured he didn't run his mouth anymore, breaking four of the bones in his face. The other three stood by in awe, utterly dumbstruck that a single kick had taken down their friend. Before they could react, Shotaro was in the face of another of the bullies. A spinning back kick knocked the wind right out of the bully's lungs and broke two of his ribs. The other two began to run, but Shotaro caught up with one of them. This boy was the luckiest of the three, as he took a side kick to the hip and a punch to the jaw. No broken bones. The last boy managed to run and get a teacher, who would return to find three wounded boys and Shotaro screaming and crying as he beat his head against the outside wall of the school.

Everyone received medical care, including Shotaro. Lab tests showed there was an unusually high level of adrenaline still flowing through the child's veins. Like an increasing number of people in the world, Shotaro soon realized he had an unusual gift that set him apart from the norm. His gift was something potentially frightening... the ability to control his adrenal glands at will. Despite the interesting revelation, Shotaro still had to do penance for snapping as he did. Two weeks in a Juvenile Detention Facility and six months of probation. He did the time and followed the rules, and by the time his first year of high school rolled around, he was free and clear to do what he wanted once again.

While he had used his art to do deliberate harm to others, his instructors seemed to understand the situation and allowed Shotaro to continue taking classes with them. While on probation, he redoubled his efforts to be the personification of the Tenants of Taekwondo (http://ustchawaii.weebly.com/uploads/1/3/1/5/13153698/3554989.jpg?413). A month before beginning High School and shortly after his 14th birthday, Shotaro's instructors agreed it was time to promote the young man to 2nd Dan. It seemed like he was on the road to redemption... but things were not as they seemed. Having gained a taste of the unrivaled rush that combat brought him, Shotaro was only playing at nice. In reality, he just wanted to get better at Taekwondo so he could kick even more ass. The anger the bullies unleashed and the intense rush of his newfound ability proved too addictive for the young man to resist.

Two weeks before he was to start high school, Shotaro received a letter that would change his life. An acceptance letter for New Peaks Academy, via the "Young Masters" outreach program. The Young Masters Program was designed to reach out to poorer teens who cannot afford classes at New Peaks, but have achieved at least their 1st-Dan Black Belt in the martial art they practice. These students receive one year of classes at New Peaks free of charge, and then reduced tuition for the remaining three years. Mr. Yanmei agreed that going to the prestigious school would be the best course of action for Shotaro, and helped his son pack what possessions he would bring with him.

His first year at New Peaks, Shotaro was picked on by many of the more wealthy first-year students due to being there via the outreach programs. They were quickly shown why he was accepted under the Young Masters program, and generally woke up wondering what direction the kick came from. Within his first year, Shotaro moved from D1 Rank to B3, blazing through C-Rank in an uncommonly short time. During this time he also trained with the school's registered martial arts instructors, who were amazed at the young man's prowess and granted him his 3rd Dan black belt. This caught the eye of certain upperclassmen, who approached him just before the school year ended.

It was after he encountered these other students that Shotaro's true self really came to light. He started picking fights as soon as his second year began, and often with the newer first-years who didn't yet know all the rules and what was/wasn't allowed. In addition, he also started to intentionally scar his body in order to appear tougher and more intimidating. These scars were generally obtained during 'training accidents' when Shotaro would 'practice' alone and with metal weapons. As they were mostly on the arms and chest, he was not suspected of causing intentional harm to himself, and treated by New Peaks medical staff each time. All this and more are what encompassed Shotaro's second year, and he reached the rank of A2 by the time the year ended.

Third year was more of the same. Causing trouble, training, and occasionally injuring himself on purpose. In addition to the "sweet-ass scars" that criss-crossed his body, these self-inflicted wounds had an added benefit. These intentional wounds helped Shotaro harness and improve his ability to control his adrenaline. In his third year, Shotaro had a record thirty-two fights interrupted by a judge... more than any other student to have ever attended New Peaks Academy. This was also the year Shotaro earned his 4th Dan black belt. Due to his record-breaking year and outstanding prowess in his art, Shotaro advanced from A2 to S2 when the school year came to a close.

Now begins his final year as a student of New Peaks Academy. Now the de-facto leader of the group that approached him just over two years ago, Shotaro is poised among the Academy's elite. He has the money from students trying to win his favor. He has the power to tell those in his group what to do. He has the respect of many second and third year students. He has eyes upon him among the faculty and executives of New Peaks Academy... but what will he do with it? Well... that remains to be seen.

After being challenged on the first day of school by a Freshman, Shotaro has shown everyone why he is the best fighter on the island. He dispatched the new kid with relative ease, won the Senior Holiday Tournament, and achieved the hallowed rank of S-1... making him only the seventh student in twenty years to do so.

Much like everyone else, he is preparing for the upcoming tournament. He knows that there are other skilled fighters among the seniors, and his victory isn't guaranteed.

Welcome back, nummnuts. Good to be continuing this thing again.

Name: Junkiro Iwazuma
Theme song: Deceiver-Disturbed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPsYKDKCo6w)
I.D. Number: 08061945
Rank: C1
Year: First Year
Nationality: Japanese
Age: 16
Sex/Gender: Male
Appearance:
http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz311/TenshiOkono/Kingdom%20Hearts/anime-hoodie-male-1.jpg

Fighting Style: Kyokushin Karate, 3rd Kyu; Professional Wrestling, Trainee

Powers: Adhesion - Junkiro, like many of the gifted fighters at New Peaks Academy, has learned to tap into his aura. When he does so, he can make various parts of his body extremely sticky, allowing him to instantly adhere to objects. This can include walls, weapons, other fighters....as long as it is not extremely wet, it is fair game. This can be turned on and off on various parts of his body at will, but cannot yet be transferred to other objects for more than a brief moment (in other words, a post at most).

Personality: Junkiro`s family history has left him an extremely conflicted individual. Does he adhere to family values, or does he choose to listen to the outside world? This debate has consumed much of his thoughts outside of the field of battle. As such, he rarely will be found socializing actively; more likely, he will linger at the edge of a group or be on his lonesome, either brooding, studying, or snooping around for his family. This is not to say he is a social outcast, however. Should his mind clear or he have no choice in the matter, Junkiro can still interact with others in a healthy and normal manner; he just prefers not to.

However clouded his outlook of the future may be, when in a fight, his objective is clear: Defeat the enemy using any methods available. Junkiro is a very perfectionistic individual and absolutely hates to lose, though, after he gets over himself, he usually does see the value in a loss. Nonetheless, he will size up to better opponents than himself with no fear (but will hesitate before challenging one), and also goes all out against weaker opponents. He does recognize and accept surrender, and will stop if and when a mismatch is obvious. He is the first in his family to see surrender as an honorable method of victory or defeat.

Guilty Pleasure: Dragonball Evolution. Not only does Junkiro recognize the fact that it's a horrible movie, it also takes Dragonball Z, one of Japan's longest and greatest animes, and just shits all over it. Doubly insulting to him, and one of the few areas where Junkiro agrees with his family that America can be horrible at times. And yet...no matter how many times he sees it, it always sucks him in and he can't stop watching.

Background: To tell the backstory of Junkiro, we must backtrack to an earlier time.

August 6, 1945-Hiroshima
The Iwazuma family has all gathered for a family reunion, one that they hold in Hiroshima each and every year. The family, having waited patiently all day, has just settled down to eat the family meal together. As food is served and the family digs in, a sudden silence seems to take over the area. The heaviness in the air is palpable; something bad is about to happen, and everyone knows it. A few uneasy seconds later, the house is thrown on its side from the force of a massive explosion from an atomic bomb. The United States has begun the final moments of the war by devastating the city of Hiroshima with mankind`s then-most deadly WMD. Furniture, food, and bodies have been thrown everywhere; blood and spare limbs have been scattered throughout the mess. Some bodies, however, have survived the impact. The several Iwazumas that survived were then rushed to the hospital for both grievous injuries and radiation poisoning. Once learning of what caused their family to lose more than half its total, the Iwazumas vowed revenge on the American populace, no matter how long it took.

Three generations later, Junkiro Iwazuma was born to Oichi and Yoshihiro Iwazuma, the youngest of four children and the only boy. From birth, Junkiro was taught the family way-destroy the Americans. In fact, his first sentence, as with all the Iwazuma children, was 'Death to America'. Junkiro, in addition to his regular studies in school, was forced by his parents to learn English, for the reason of, according to them, 'to blend in with their kind' and deflect suspicion from the Americans. From an early age, Junkiro was also introduced to Kyokushin style Karate, of which he was found to have a natural talent for. This is not to say he was a prodigy-far from it. However, he was more than proficient enough to advance to some of the higher junior levels at a relatively young age. While most students focused more on all the fancy moves that cause a great amount of pain, Junkiro focused more proficiently on the strength aspect of the martial art, training his body to take as many blows as it could without giving. That way, he figured, taking a hit that might cause another to flinch or be thrown back can open other opportunities to attack. Of course, this is not to say he didn't work on his moves along with it.

Most notable in the development of Junkiro as a freedom fighter was the day, at the age of nine, he got stuck to his family`s front door and required the jaws of life to free him. He was rushed to the hospital immediately afterward-while nothing was found to be 'wrong' with him per se, there was a strange viscousness of the air about him. It was known the Iwazuma family still suffered from radiation residue, even sixty years after the atomic bomb was dropped; a few of their clan had developed various mutations as well, but all were generally crippling and gruesome. Determined to turn this into a talent, Junkiro`s parents did all they could to help him control this strange mutation. It took four years, but he did eventually show signs of control over this power.

Flash-forward to the present day. With the opening of an American-made Fight School just off the coast of Japan, the Iwazumas saw a perfect opportunity for Junkiro-not only would the Americans teach him how to be a fighting machine, he could even do some sabotage to its owner on the side, just to stick in the Americans' craw. Junkiro, however, was conflicted-he was now a well-educated child and knew America was an innovative, world-leading country whose contributions to world health and development were crucial to Japan and the rest of the world progressing to where they were now. But what could he do? His family had pooled together a very large chunk of their savings just for him to attend-would he just throw the money away? Conflicted, Junkiro agreed to attend the school, but did not guarantee that he would sabotage the owner. Junkiro, now on his way, hopes to find his identity away from his family for the first time.

Since day one, Junkiro's had a rather incredible year. After being blackmailed by Shotaro over information about his terrorist family, Junkiro was forced into Imperius Gloria and worked to death by the senior members. His rank rose dramatically, as did his skill; as a result, he even managed to win the freshman segment of the mid-year tournament, a rather incredible feat for one who began the year in D-rank. What's more, his run also caught the attention of his semifinal opponent, Kyami. After a few meetings, the two decided to go out, and are currently happily dating. Needless to say, after a rocky start, Junkiro became quite the popular student, and his mood has greatly improved.
You ever wonder what the first rule of Fight School is? Here's a hint: Don't fail.

Standatrocity
03-30-2016, 12:12 AM
Name: Troy F. Duncan
I.D. Number: 81247359
Rank: D3
Year: 1st year
Nationality: American
Age: 15
Sex/Gender: Male

Appearance: http://orig03.deviantart.net/8d31/f/2014/081/3/9/untitled_by_demoncrona-d7b9g4n.jpg Troy often gives people the first impression that he's kind of a grumpy guy because he's usually thinking of new jokes or acts, and his thinking expression makes him look moderately pissed off. However, he'll always smile when he realizes someone's watching. Though not really ugly, he's not exactly got charming good looks, and displays thin but noticeable rings under his eyes -- implying a lack of sleep, likely staying up thinking of scenes. He's known to wear the same rarely-washed light orange hoodie pretty much at all times, along with the most comfortable pants he could find that weren't too horribly digustingly dirty. In contrast, his blonde hair is always neatly combed and parted, and he tends to look as if he just got out of a morning shower; clean and refreshed, if not fully awake. He stands a solid 6"1, but his jocular demeanor makes him look smaller even to short people.

Fighting Style: Troy likes to tell opponents he's a master of the ancient art of Phŏ-kĕ, which is actually just a stupid way to pronounce "fake", as in "not real". Troy has no training, formal or informal, in any actual fighting style, meaning that should he find his way into a fight, he would literally have to make things up and improvise. That's not to say that he's utterly incompetent, just that he doesn't actually know any real fighting style -- he's still a fast thinker, and knows how to thoroughly read an opponent, much alike reading an audience.

Powers: In a similar manner, Troy likes to tell opponents he can see in slow motion, or predict the future, or any number of other things. This is also untrue. Troy has absolutely no powers of any kind, ki-based or otherwise. Of course, there's no solid way for most people to actually prove that, and he knows it, so in a sense, one could say he has the power of the unknown. But that's just a metaphorical power, not a real one.

Personality: Troy is an exceptional actor with a flair for the dramatic. It's rumored that he's more interested in riling up a crowd than actually winning a fight, and he's good at it -- the boy can change his outwards personality almost seamlessly to adapt to a given situation, based on how he thinks he needs to act to get people excited. For this reason, most of his fights look like something out of a movie, with him usually playing the villain -- he only wins occasionally, and not many people want to see the good guy lose. He's exceptionally good at making up cool lines on the spot and cracking jokes when pretending not to take an enemy seriously, even when they're clearly winning by far.

Outside of that, his real personality is something close to a comedian that maybe tries a little too hard. He thinks he's funnier than he is, but it can come off as endearing if you understand his intentions. Troy merely wants people to have a good time, and as such doesn't worry too much about being an exceptional fighter so much as making sure people are satisfied with a given course of events. He doesn't act all that smart, and his grades are average at best, but he is exceptionally clever as someone skilled at improv would be, which suits his untrained fighting style. As such, he is able to put up enough of a fight to make things interesting, if not to win particularly often.

Though he has a good number of fans who turn up to watch his fights, Troy does have a harder time making actual friends. His constant attempts to satisfy make him seem fake, and can come off as a desperate call for attention, which can be offputting. As such, he tends to only make friends with people observant enough to see the meaning behind his behavior; the exact same sort of people he'd never be able to fool.

Background: Troy was born closest to fighting nobility that you can get in the US -- both his parents well-known champions in the US and most of the world. Like Troy himself, they didn't actually practice a real fighting style; they just made it up on the spot, and it worked. Their ad-libbed style was famous for its uncharacteristic effectiveness, and they were both exceptional users of ki-based powers, possessing a wide variety of useful abilities rather than a small set of powerful ones. Of course, the sort of people who'd have such lust for battle would obviously be eager to pass their knowledge onto their children, which made it a bit harder on them when their firstborn turned out to be less of a fighter and more of an actor.

Troy was always a fan of superhero movies, the sort where the bad guys came up with evil schemes and the good guys came along to save the day. As a toddler, that sort of plot was all he understood. His parents figured he'd be a natural; superheroes did nothing but fight, after all. In the end, however, it turned out he was more a fan of the drama than the actual fighting. He admired the unique styles of every prominent character, hero or villain, and found it fascinating how they'd interact in such a way that made the show so much more interesting than just a couple random guys hitting each other. Eventually, he moved onto action movies with gritty protagonists, and became increasingly fond of their badass catchphrases and wit in the face of danger. For a while, he found himself baffled by how the villain would do something stupid and illogical -- why not just kill the hero with a bullet to the head, instead of a slowly moving laser to the crotch and an evil plan-explaining monologue? -- but eventually he realized that it was because the show would be boring if they were smarter, if they simply defeated their foe on the spot and moved on. Who'd want to watch that?

Troy, of course, still received the best "training" he could be given by parents who didn't practice a real style, and it was for the first time that they cursed themselves for not learning something specifically teachable. They'd always assumed their children would simply have the genetics to catch on easily. In addition, Troy displayed little ability with Ki, unable to mould it into any usable form, if only for a lack of effort. Everytime they'd tell him to practice, they'd simply discover him watching movies again, or catching up on hero cartoons. Though he did come out a pretty competent fighter(he had to have gotten some good genes, after all), he was nowhere near the world champion they were sure he'd turn out to be.

It was Troy's idea to be enrolled in New Peaks Academy. His parents weren't going to make him attend a combat school if he didn't want to, but he insisted on it. They thought, rather naively, that perhaps he'd turned over a new leaf and wanted to take on the family name, when in reality he merely wanted to test what TV had taught him. Nevertheless, it was a good deal for all parties. His parents were certain he'd manage to at least pass, if not with flying colors, and he got to act with an audience to show off to, people to make smile. After all, isn't that the point of show biz?

Hey pretty detailed RP Beta, and may I say welcome back again! In case you have forgotten we have wonderful tools to help you get your rp out there to the rest of RPA! Of course using them is always optional!

One of the larger ways to get people to know about your roleplay is to submit an application for Roleplay of the Week (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=59571)! If chosen your roleplay will be featured in the roleplay of the week section as well as being on the home page! Need a banner to go with your roleplay of the week? No problem! We have a roleplay of the week banner shop (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=79546)where tons of artists will come together to make you a beautiful banner!

Another great way is to have your roleplay featured in the staff signatures (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=79783&p=2728238#post2728238)! After all us staff go all over the forum and what a great way it is to spread the word of your roleplay to some of the rarer corners of the forums!

Now my personal favorite is another great way of advertising. The roleplay games directory (http://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=40645)! In there all you have to do is post a short summary about your RP as well as providing and OOC link. Then as people go through it, reading RP after RP, they'll see yours and if it's something they like they will click the link and come on over here!

Though I'm working from a shitty RCA tablet, I'll see what I can do to bring either everyone's favorite scamp from Detroit or that hilarious Brazilian kid back around.

Could also try for some new thing. Who knows?

Name: Jason T. Drake
I.D. Number: 72610058
Rank: D1/CX
Year: 1st
Nationality: United States of American (Michiganeese, Detroiter)
Age: 16

Martial Arts Style: Kajukenbo (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kajukenbo) (Recently elevated to Brown Belt ranking.)
Initial Analysis: A kid raised in section 8 housing surrounded by drug and gang violence, and it definitely shows in his fighting technique, if one could call it that. It would not be inaccurate for those not aware of the boy's nuance to name Jason Drake a hopped up streetfighter rather than a serious martial artist. (More to be written.)

Powers: I'll think of something.

Personality:

Background:

TheDoctor
03-30-2016, 05:27 AM
Name: Ayame Mizuki
I.D. Number: 8831369
Rank: B1
Year: Second Year
Nationality: Japanese
Age: 17
Sex/Gender: Female
Appearance:
http://img10.deviantart.net/5003/i/2014/062/6/7/hotei_by_chaosringen-d78tct3.jpg

Ayame stands at approximately 5'6" with a lustful, curvaceous figure. She is often admired for her beauty with shoulder-length velvet black hair that delicately frames her sapphire blue eyes and alluring lips. She frequently wears kimonos like the one pictured above (although a little less suggestively. Just a little.)

Fighting Style: Muay Thai. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muay_Thai) She is centered around being able to take/block blows and returning them tenfold. Known as "the art of eight limbs," Muay Thai utilizes fists, elbows, knees, shins, feet, and basically anything else that Ayame can use (along with clinches and takedowns). It requires serious physical and mental discipline to retain form during a fight, especially considering her smaller stature.

Powers: Aura redistribution. This enables her to absorb aura that is delivered to her--usually through blows delivered by an enemy/enemies--and then store it and redistribute it into a physical blow. This has no cost to her physical state (with the exception being whatever damage the blow dealt to her does).

This aura redistribution also allows her to consolidate her own aura into a cluster and deliver it in any physical attack she pleases. This, however, does have a cost. She becomes much more tired if she delivers a single high-aura blow using her own aura, or multiple low-aura blows.

Because of this, she eats a bunch of food and sleeps a lot the day/half day before her important fights so that she'll have more energy to deal to opponents.

Personality: Because of her lessons on etiquette and courtly behavior, Ayame knows how to act and dress properly in public. She understands how to keep face in social situations, and yet nothing can entirely suppress her extremely fiery personality (if anything, her repression has made it worse). Ayame's honest personality is narcissistic and self-centered, driven by internal motives which she subtly weaves into her outwardly friendly character. Occasionally, however, her narcissism and ego breaks forth--whether through snide remark or her fists--and it's never pretty.

Background: Ayame was born in a very traditional yet wealthy Japanese family--the Mizukis. She was homeschooled most of her childhood by her parents, who taught her proper etiquette for a Japanese woman at a very early age along with scholarly subjects. Ayame, however, found no love for the lady life. Instead, she found her love in combat.

At the age of seven, Ayame's parents reluctantly placed her in a basic martial arts school where she gained fundamental strength and understanding of fighting. After a few years, her teachers began to understand that she had something special...not just a natural talent for the art of combat, but a hidden ability as well.

Ayame had been introduced to many different forms of martial arts, Japanese and otherwise, but the ones which she thrived in the most were the more aggressive contact ones, like boxing, kickboxing, and, particularly, Muay Thai. After her teachers realized she was different, she was recommended to a particular sensei in the area, Sensei Kume. Although Muay Thai was originally from Thailand, this sensei knew the art to the fullest degree.

Training under Sensei Kume was an entirely different experience than in the martial arts school. He worked her as hard as possible every day she attended his lessons, and she absorbed the material like a sponge. Her hidden ability, aura redistribution, began to flourish under the sensei's teachings, and he helped her include the power into her technique and strategy. He warned her not to depend upon it; power or not, the better fighter will always win.

As her skills and power developed under the sensei, Ayame found herself developing--physically and otherwise--into a woman. Before she knew it, she was sixteen years old and displaying proudly the curves provided to her. She had matured under her parents' guidance into a polite young woman, and her social skills had become quite exceptional.

At the age of sixteen, her sensei sent a recommendation to New Peaks Academy, and, after an acceptance letter and a lengthy talk with her parents, she decided to attend. Although traditional Muay Thai held no form of ranking, Sensei Kume saw her as fit for the challenge. He claimed that the only way for her to continue learning was through personal experience and exploration, and she should return to him when she felt she was ready. With a smile on her face and a couple of tears in her eyes, she said goodbye and boarded the train.

Her first year at New Peaks, or, as the students called it, Fight School, was another period of growth for her. She was placed in classes with other fighters of the same style, but they weren't able to soar like she could. Because of her size, on the smaller side for a Muay Thai fighter, many underestimated her. After evading and trading a few blows, Ayame utilized her ability to take down (and frequently knock out) her opponents. No matter what the masters threw against her, she almost always came out victorious. She became a C1 rank by the end of the year.

She also joined the Janissaries, which parallels with her social image. She represents them highly during social events and while helping freshmen out, so she's well-known amongst other underclassmen. It benefits her social image quite well and portrays the Mizuki name as she was always taught to. Her primary reason, for joining the Janissaries, however, was to wipe the smirks off Imperius Gloria faces...for fun, of course.

This year, the masters pinned her against fighters of many different styles to test her ability to adjust. As a second year and now a B1, Ayame is ready to step in the ring once again for the Summer Tournament.

First Rule of Fight School, don't fucking fail Fight School
Name: Isabella Bergmann
I.D. Number: 25425499
Rank: D3
Year: First year
Nationality: German
Age: 15
Sex/Gender: Female
Appearance: http://pre12.deviantart.net/69f1/th/pre/f/2015/331/8/4/lasahiboiboi_bluesmall_by_chaosringen-d9ia96r.jpg

Isabella is a petit girl with pale skin and snow white hair that is cut evenly just past her neck, frequently with two thick braids on each side at the front that fall to the center of her chest. She has deep blue eyes and full lips, and her small frame stands only around 5'3". She wears very plain clothing most of the time, black t-shirts and slim tan knee-high capris with sandals when warm, and heavy layers with scarves when cold.

Fighting Style: Wing Chun. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wing_Chun) No ranking

Powers: Leglock. Isabella's ability strengthens her legs and body, providing increased stability to keep herself in proper form. It adds extra strength to her hits as well, since her strikes are delivered through her whole body. Her ability provides control over her body's give-and-take, which permits her to keep her center of balance under her command. It keeps her constantly on her feet and makes it extremely difficult to knock her legs out.

Personality: Isabella is calm, quiet, collected, yet content. She's satisfied with the hand that life dealt her, and so she broods with a cold curiosity quite unlike other girls her age. Her genuine tone is well-intentioned, yet brutally honest, and while her distant personality appears haughty and snooty, she hardly means to be (in fact, quite the opposite).

Past that outer shell, however, Isabella is a lonely and sad individual, a face she only shows when she's alone and frequently denies. She wants to have people to rely on, but she refuses to be a burden on others. Torn between her two internal desires, she acts on neither, and remains unattached from others.

Background: Isabella grew up in a North German household, her family lower-middle class. For as long as she could remember, she grew up with secondhand clothes and secondhand toys, and she always had to help her parents run the household because they were too busy with their jobs. Her older brother, Claus, was born with cerebral palsy, which caused verbal and motor disabilities, and most of her parents' income was spent taking care of him. Therefore, Isabella always saw herself as the secondhand child.

At a young age, she learned to accept it. She never complained about her older brother receiving more attention because she knew he needed it due to his disability. Her brother always treated her with love and affection when her parents couldn't, and that inspired Isabella to ignore her internal troubles and deal with her emotions herself. Because of this, she was never like the other girls in her younger schooldays, which caused her to be ostracized. Yes, she was lonely, but that was okay.

Denial was what she learned; repression was who she was.

Isabella finally found a way to express herself when she became nine: through Wing Chun. While she initially wanted to learn to protect her brother, she slowly found herself enjoying it, and she developed an early mental discipline. Chain punches increased from ten per set to one hundred, then one thousand. Her forms grew longer, slower, and more refined while her Horse stance strengthened with time. She trained in drills with her sifu and the other students, learning to feel how the opponent moved while in contact with them. Closing the gap became the instinctual goal, and opening their center line became elementary. Attack and defense were one in the same for her.

When her sifu approached her about New Peaks Academy, she initially declined, knowing that her parents could never pay for it. Scholarships, however, were available per application, and after countless sleepless nights of hard work on her application, she sent it in. Months later, she was delighted by an envelope in the mail that spoke of her acceptance into the school with a scholarship.

At the beginning of her first year, Isabella ranked as an E2. Her examiners were not impressed by the plainness of her Wing Chun demonstrations, despite its adaptability and efficiency. Isabella was not affected by her low rank, deciding instead to let the outcome of her fights demonstrate her proficiency. She wasn't there to impress; she was there to learn. However, she found it difficult to implement other martial arts with Wing Chun, for she saw clear alternatives within Wing Chun to combat her opponents.

Overall, Isabella learned that she was there to discover what she wanted.

With the Summer Tournament approaching, Isabella decided to apply herself more seriously to preparing for it. She didn't put much effort into tournaments or participate in many fights in the school, and a change of pace was exactly what she wanted.

Rank: C3
Year: 1st Year; Transfer
Nationality: Japanese
Age: 15
Sex/Gender: Female

Fighting Style: Keysi Fighting Method

Powers: Keratin Pincushion - Kairi has a large number of short keratin spikes embedded in her skin. If she desires, she may extend these up to 2cm outward as a means of defending herself from attack. While one might think this injures her, the spikes are sheathed within her skin and covered by a thin flap of tissue when not in use. As such, when they are not extended, she appears perfectly normal. These spikes cover her body at a density of one per square inch except in sensitive areas such as the inside of the elbow, back of the knee, and private regions.

http://www.wow247.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Hedgehog-man.gif

Personality: Far from an average lady, Kairi has a rough, tomboyish behavior. It shows itself more through things she enjoys, including a good fight. She's one of those types of girls you'll either enjoy having around or feel she's an annoyance at times likely. Invasive and uncaring for some personal security, she can be blunt but she'll always have something to smile about in the end. Overall she can be as kind and honorable as anyone else but pique her interest in a good or bad way, that can change from person to person.

Background: Of Japanese descent, Kairi grew up in the States, more exactly in New York. Living in a decently well-off middle-class family, her mother worked as a lawyer as her father was a chef. While she did alright in school, socially there seemed to be an issue. As plenty of schools, a social hierarchy usually stems into existence around middle school. Because she didn't seem to click with most girls, she was eventually shunned as unpopular despite her lively attitude. Though, after a fight with a boy, that all changed rather swiftly. She was 11 when it happened, during 6th grade in school. She was defending a rather timid and shy girl from a bully that wouldn't back off and being a young kid as they were, their first notion was to throw a punch.

She only knew how to fight because she found herself in awe of what she saw in the recent Batman movies Christian Bale had starred in. With some convincing of her parents and the fact she had plenty free time after school, her parents set her up for lessons with whomever instructor they could hire for a set time. Through all that would happen, Kairi kept up with it up until present day, 3-4 years of experience.

Back to her fight with the young boy, it was her first fight ever, but it'd soon look to change how things went afterwards. It was during that fight she learned of her power. After rubbing her own jaw from taking the hit, she saw the boy standing still in a frozen shock, holding his hand like he hurt himself. She could see in his eyes that it was fear, and he wasn't the only one. Two others that were with him were gawking like a bunch of dopes before they started calling her names, screaming out. Freak was the most common.

The utter rejection she'd eventually deal with for being so different from everyone eventually changed her. She'd actively look for a fight if she could, usually targeting anyone that was an ass of themselves. Though, with how things turned out, she'd usually be the one to become at fault, even if in her own eyes it was for an understandable cause. Still, it didn't change the point that she was becoming a delinquent in the eyes of society, let alone a so-called 'freak.'

After graduating 8th grade to head into high school, her parents were worried how things would pan out in High school. High school was one of the more impressionable years that delinquent activity and other factors can come into play that would make it harder on Kairi to adjust to, let alone being a teenager. Doing some research, her parents eventually came across New Peaks Academy. The concept of it looked promising to help their daughter and they did whatever they could to set up her transfer to it. Being of a middle-class family, it was difficult but through plans and explanation, Kairi obtained a scholarship to attend with the 'Talented Teens' program. With what her parents explained to her, Kairi agreed and actually found it pretty interesting. Maybe there she could fit in and fight without any trouble.

@TheDoctor: You're approved for both characters once you make a small edit to Isabella. Tournaments are not optional. Since she was a student at the beginning of the year, she would have been eliminated in the preliminary rounds and not been a part of the final sixteen.

@Detective Zero: You're approved.

Adding everyone to the roster.

Aw to heck with it, why not.

Name: Ilya Dyatchkina
I.D. Number: 04191775
Rank: B-1
Year: Sophomore
Nationality: Czechoslovakian
Age: 16
Sex/Gender: Female
Theme song: Fourarms-Broughton (https://broughton.bandcamp.com/track/fourarms)
http://pre04.deviantart.net/7fc6/th/pre/i/2009/036/f/9/four_arms_colored_by_immortaltom.jpg

Blame the Internet for lack of good concept art. I'll fill in the missing details. Ilya will ALWAYS wear baggy hoodies, no matter the temperature outside. It is very rare that you will see her in anything else; this way, she can keep her extra set of arms hidden. Her hair is a flaming red, and her eyes a soft verdant green. She cares little about makeup, preferring the au natural look. Her body is slender, with a thin line of musculature on her body. Her arms and legs are powerfully built.

Fighting Style: Boxing-8 years experience

Powers: Four Arms-not a power per se, but a unique 'deformity' she carries. This extra pair of arms function just as well as her normal ones, and can be used seamlessly in combat. She can use two arms to block and two arms to attack constantly, meaning the punches never cease around this girl.

Personality: Ilya has little experience with interacting with others. In fact, it was her choice to join New Peaks in order to come out of her shell more. A sheltered life simply is not for her. Still, she doesn't know much about making friends, and is extremely self-conscious about her extra appendages. She keeps them hidden as much as she can, but can only do it so much. When she has to have them out, she gets extremely nervous and can have a hard time focusing.

In combat, she becomes no-nonsense. Combat has always been her way of relieving frustration and tension, and pulls no punches (no pun intended). She fights fairly but brutally; from opening bell to the final blow, she is all-out, all the time. She doesn't believe in pulling one's punches, even in sparring matches; bruises build character, after all. But after a fight, she is always more than willing to help her partner get better, so long as they will help her as well. And keep in mind...the times she has to improvise, watch out for her legs. She knows people focus on her pythons when she fights...and just in case, she NEVER skips leg day.

Background: Birthed as the last attempt to salvage a marriage between a Czech man and a Slovak woman, Ilya Dyatchkina was a spoiled child from the word go. Her father was determined not to allow her birth defect to impede her ability to succeed in life, nor did he want her to be sad; as such, he showered her with praise and gifts for everything she did. Her mother, a more level-headed, frugal sort, knew the key to her social success was confidence.

Her mother noted Ilya could use her four arms to her advantage in sports, so at the tender age of 8 she sighed Ilya up for a peewee boxing club that took place down at the local gym. Ilya excelled at the sport, finding a natural talent beyond her...natural talent. She was quick to improve; by age 11, most of her opponents weren't much of a challenge. Granted, she DID have a somewhat unfair advantage. Ilya took great pride in her ability, but never showed it; Ilya had frustrations to work out, and boxing was her outlet.

What frustrations, you may ask? At age 6, the marriage could last no longer. Fed up with her husband's spendthrift ways, Olga Dyatchkina divorced her husband, moving back to Slovakia. The courts were a mess, awarding joint custody, trading off every three months. With such an awful ruling, Ilya was forced to be homeschooled, losing what little contact she had with other children her age.

With more frustrations than ever, Ilya put all her heart into her training. By age 13, she had won the Czech/Slovak Junior Boxing tournament and found acclaim in the fighting community, and her future was in question. Was she going to focus entirely on boxing, or try to have a career? And what of her family? She had two private tutors, one in the Czech Republic, one in Slovakia, giving her the same advice: Go for broke, join the professional circuit. But Ilya felt sheltered. She knew very little of social interactions, and wanted to try and make friends that weren't just trying to latch onto her sports success.

With this in mind, she asked her dad to send her to New Peaks. There, she couldn't be coddled by her family or pressured by the media. She would just be another (four-armed) body in the crowd, and she could just be herself. Her father, an oil tycoon, easily paid the high tuition, and Ilya soon found herself on her way, ready to make her own life for herself.

Theme Song:
Remedy - Seether (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZLILV18ut8)

Personality:
Cyst is what many consider to be an enigma. Because of her inability to speak, she very rarely expresses her intentions or feelings to anyone outside of her fighting. To what little people actually do know her on a personal level, she is curious and rather shameless, not caring about social standards or attempts at fitting in. She wants to know the world around her as well as she knows herself, and is willing to go to great lengths to do so. She can come of as a bit brusque, and that's because she is. Even with her little quirks, she really does try to be friendly. Nothing excites her like meeting new people, with the possible exception of fighting new people.

After a first day consisting of training, running into a man named Vince, making a new friend, and somehow acquiring a new phone in the process, Cyst fought in the holiday tournament. She tried her hardest, but was forced to concede due to complications with her lungs, finishing with nothing to show for it but some money.

Now she's preparing for her personal shot at redemption, training her skills to prove to her late master that she can protect herself from anyone and anything, including her own past

Background:
Cyst didn't live in luxury. In fact, she was poor. Her family was incredibly poor before she was born, and her coming along didn't change that. When it was discovered his wife was pregnant, her father almost immediately stole all his wife's money and fled to america. Cyst lived most of her life without a name. She was unregistered, hidden from the government to keep rent cheaper. Shortly after her mother turned to alcoholism, she was named Cyst because that's what she was, to her mother. A cancer.

She lived on meager scraps and small amounts of water, never leaving the house for fear of punishment. One day, her mother finally snapped. She set fire to the house and trapped Cyst inside. The girl was eventually able to make her way outside, breaking open a window and falling into the cold snow. But unfortunately, her lungs were heavily damaged as a result, making her unable to speak. She was eventually able to mostly recover, but her voice never returned to her.

She soon found treatment. A free clinic that helped her to live through the smoke inhalation. She had problems keeping her stamina up at first, but soon learned to work through it. She lived in the streets with the rest of the unwanted children, figuring out how to survive off of nothing but her wit and her intuition. She was discovered by an aging ex-soldier who took her under his wing. He taught her how to fight off those who wished to harm her, giving her the basis for the Krav Maga she would learn to master.

After that she earned her money by participating in illegal fight clubs, perfecting her fighting skills and her natural speed. It also helped her with her stamina, as the exercises she had to do to participate in these fights were great physical therapy. Soon she was well known enough that the Fight School was contacting her about attending their school on an outreach program. She took the offer, of course, but wanted to say goodbye to the man who originally taught her to fight, first.

She left Russia with her last memory being his corpse slumped over in an alleyway, dead from the cold that claimed so many others. Another faceless victim. She didn't cry for him. She knew it would happen, some day. What she had to focus on was what was in front of her. Now, attending this school, she didn't only have the weight of her future on her shoulders. She had the weight of his spirit.

She would be damned if she let him down.

Then this is the RP for you. It can be just as much a school for the players as it is for the characters they make. I am no stranger to helping out those not familiar with RP Combat, and I am sure at least one or two of my more experienced players would also be more than happy to help you learn the ropes. We won't beat your character down mercilessly because you're unfamiliar with fights in RPs. Quite the opposite, in fact.

As such, I encourage you to give us a shot. If you decide it isn't for you and choose to take your leave, there won't be any hard feelings... but as Wayne Gretsky once said: You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

Powers:
The Shield of Aegis - Creates a wall of energy that will take one strike from an enemy before collapsing. Can be created to cover the entire frame of Amaltheia's body, but will not bend. She can move it at will and her own strikes will not collapse the wall.

Personality:
Amaltheia has always been a proud girl, both of her natural prowess and of her family, as well as her people's history. No matter the current state of Greece, she will always talk about it's past with the utmost respect and pride. She's jolly and fun-loving, never really down on anyone, least of all herself. She always tries to be supportive to her peers, but her pride will not let her forgive a shameful display of combat. She will always prioritize honor to friendship, and friendship to duty or service. She will not stand any insult to her honor, the honor of her family, or the honor of her people. What exactly such an insult is, however, is determined by her and her alone.

Background:
Amaltheia was always better off than her peers. Her father was a master of Pankration and had several dozen tournament wins under his belt (or lack of one). As such, he made much of his money teaching others the ancient art of combat. She was taught from her father at a young age, catching men larger than her in Achilles holds at the age of twelve.

When it was discovered she could manipulate the earthly energies around her, her parents were delighted. They knew that she could bring their family much success, out in the world. They knew that her place wasn't training in their basement with her father. It was out on the world stage, fighting for the glory of Greece. They sent her to New Peaks without regret or second thought, and she went without any such thoughts, as well.

On her first day, she got into three unsanctioned fights with three different sophomores over three different insults to her family and her heritage. She won two of the fights. The third was with Shotaro. After beating her beyond a reasonable doubt, he introduced her to the Imperius Gloria, and started a friendship that would last for years to come.

Today, she stands as an officer of the Imperius Gloria, as well as one of the best Pankration practitioners at New Peaks (by default). She lives at the school full time and writes to her parents frequently, often exaggerating her good fights and downplaying the few bad ones she has. She is known and respected, held in high regard by her teachers and peers, and is proud that she can say that nobody has insulted her honor quite yet.

Fighting Style:

Achillas specializes in Bakom. He thought learning such a vicious style would help him progress in his goals faster.

Powers:

None

Personality:

In a single word, Achillas would be called defiant. Defiant towards those who look down on him because of his weakness. He tries his hardest to prove them wrong, and prove himself. He will not let something he was born with hold him town.

Background:

Achillas's father was a wealthy man. Multi-billionaire, owner of a well prospering oil company. They exported oil to much of the world. But when Achillas was born, His father knew something was wrong with him. While his father, Yakareb wanted to disown him, His Mother, Satiah convinced him to give Achillas a chance.

By the age of five, Achillas could feel the disdain his father had for him. His Albanism made Yakareb look at him as if he was a street urchin. The one thing that didn't cause Achillas to hate his father was his mother, But at the age of 6 she died from an unknown cause. Shortly after her death, Yakareb sent Achillas to live with his brother Nyutet in Peru. Nyutet was 14 years older than Achillas, and had traveled most of the world in his earlier years. He had settled in Peru, and learned Bakom. Nyutet had a disagreement with Yakareb and left their home before anyone could stop him. Over time, Nyutet's anger had left him but he couldn't bring himself to go back home after the things he had said. Satiah would often send money to Nyutet. At first, Nyutet had built himself a nice home along the coast of Peru, but as time went by he used less of the money that she sent him and saved it in case he might ever need it later.

Nyutet knew of Yakareb's disdain upon Achillas's condition. Achillas had a lot of anger for a 6 year old when he arrived in Peru. Achillas asked Nyutet why he had moved to Peru. Nyutet said he liked the Ocean, and The time before he had come to Peru before his move, He had learned a little bit of Bakom. He wanted to learn some more. After about 2 years, He had become pretty good at it. Nyutet agreed to teach Achillas what he knew, but if he wanted to learn more, he would have to find a teacher. At the age of 12, Achillas had learned all that His brother had to offer. His brother allowed him to learn with a well practiced teacher afterward. He learned with his teacher for 5 years. That's when Nyutet learned of school dedicated to fighting. He told Achillas and Achillas wanted to go. Going to this school, maybe Achillas could prove to his father he is not weak.

Bruises and deeper cuts take longer, ranging on about 3-30 minutes depending on the severity, and will use up a larger amount of energy, usually making her want to take a power nap afterwards. She can slow down her recovery rate, which will heal longer but takes less energy. She cannot completely heal more severe injuries like fractures and internal bleeding, but she can lessen the damage to an extent.

Personality: Due to her family's wealthy status, she learned not to oblige to all of her friends' requests. She is a strong person on her own and rarely relies too much on other people for her own sake, but she is a sociable person and likes to meet new people because they don't know about her family's wealth. She is the type of person to go with the flow of things and see where it would take her. She is also kind and would help people unless she absolutely hated them. She is competitive and wants to win, but accepts losses fairly easily because she knew she did her best. She may be kind and gentle, but when it comes to fighting, she does not hold back on her opponent, even if it is a friend.

Background: Kacy comes from a wealthy family with her parents owning one of the biggest fitness center chains in America, and producing training equipment. She has an older brother who will mostly take over their parent's business, leaving her with more freedom than him. Of course, she will also have responsibilities in their business, but not as much as her sibling.

Her parents are enthusiasts of Martial Arts. This passion was also passed down to their children, with it being more evident on Kacy. When she was about 5, she told her parents she wanted to learn, but they said she was too young. However, they allowed her to watch different types of it and travelled to other countries with her brother to see which interested her the most. It was through a website that she discovered Filipino kickboxing, and convinced her parents to send her to the Philippines. They agreed when she was 10.

Every summer, she would go to the Philippines to train in one of the training centers for women. She was first unable to adjust, since this martial art was usually for the poor, and she stood out very much, with her being young and mostly American. But with her ability to speak Filipino due to her mother, she was able to make friends with the older practitioners and fit in. And she was able to speak the language more fluently. However, her yearly summer training managed to weaken her friendships in the US, only being able to talk to them during school.

One day, she happened to hit her knee on the edge of a wooden table and got a long cut. Magically, the cut began to heal itself until it looked like it never existed. Though afterwards she felt a bit tired. She had contemplated telling her parents but decided to keep it a secret to herself.

When she heard of New Peaks Academy, she immediately wanted to enroll there. She thought that it was her chance to show her skills in Martial Arts and better herself at it. She asked her parents to let her study there, and they let her, knowing that this was what she wanted for herself. Their eyes did pop out of their sockets when they saw the tuition fee, but seeing as they have big income in their business, they were able to pay for it.

Fair enough.

For the record I don't know anything about Naruto. I thought that it might be fun to not know everything about everybody's characters going in, but I guess that is just a personal preference. Thanks for the consideration, all the same.

Reviews incoming posted below.

First off... no on your power. Learning things instantly or NEAR instantly is not acceptable. With that, there's nothing stopping him from learning multiple styles of martial arts, passing every class with ease, and VERY quickly eclipsing EVERYONE in the school. Please pick something less potent.

Next, the backstory. Egypt has no kings, but I am sure if he was born to a wealthy oil magnate or other business mogul, he would easily LIVE like royalty. So that's a fairly simple and minor edit. After that, his Albinism. Albinism leads people to have reddish eyes in addition to the light skin and hair. So please note if he wears colored contact lenses or (and this IS possible with modern technology) had his eye color surgically altered.

Lastly, you don't mention how or where he learned Bakom. With such a clearly doting and protective mother, it strikes me as unusual that she would let her son learn a martial art that draws so heavily from Vale Tudo, is designed to quickly disable or KILL and opponent, and is rarely even known outside of Peru. Please do explain this somewhere in the backstory.

Lastly... please read the rules of the RP.

Ok. First problem is something right out of the gate. I've never known of any Aussie that would name their little sheila "Clairvoyance". Clair, perhaps... but not the whole spiel. This may seem nitpicky of me, but this RP is grounded in the real world and I expect the characters to have realistic names. I get that the parents were absolute nutters, but I'm sure she could get her name legally altered after they were not a part of her life any longer. ESPECIALLY if she was adopted by such a prominent couple that they were known nationwide.

Which brings us to her adoptive family. What do they do exactly that they are so well known AND such skilled fighters? I know of a few aussies that are one or the other, Bren Foster among them, so it's not a HUGE stretch to be both. I'm just curious in this regard, as most players so far have at least touched on the occupations of their characters' families.

Next up, though jumping backward on the CS, is the personality. Why is she a wallflower under normal circumstances, yet an all-encompassing badass in combat? I understand she has some emotional scarring from her early childhood, but the drastic change would send up a lot of red flags to New Peaks admissions, as it hints at some significant instability. Were she unusually cocky and/or brash, then her attitude in combat would fit her personality and be considered more normal with a teenager.

Also conflicting with the combat attitude is the styles she knows. Discounting that "Taijutsu" isn't a martial art, Aikido and Jiujutsu are styles firmly grounded in countering your opponent and quite literally helping them defeat themselves by using their body against them. They are not styles where one is bold. Level-headed, definitely. Bold, not so much. Also, she will need a belt ranking for the styles she knows.

On to her power, then. In combat, where her power would be used, Strength and Speed are the only two things that really matter. Saying you can enhance both by 25% with no drawback is a bit potent. Add in seeing auras, and you can (by how powers are described in the rules) learn a lot about any power possessed by an opponent she fights. If you nix the aura sight and add a low-tier drawback, the power will be acceptable. Given her power and styles of choice, I would also refuce her ranking to C3... which is still impressive for a Freshman, even at the end of the year.

Lastly, defeating a Junior/3rd Year student as a Freshman is not unheard of... but I'd prefer if you made the bully a Sophomore to make it a little more realistic. Even with that, She would still be hit with more than a warning. Penalties at New Peaks come in two forms: Fines or doing time in the Detention Hall. For a Freshman, a first offense, and an unsanctioned fight... she'd be facing a few hundred dollars in fines OR spending a couple days in DH. I'm guessing with wealthy parents, the fine would be the route of choice.

Honestly, I like the character. Easygoing, but not stupid... with a decent backstory and uncommon martial art. All good points. But now I have to mention the not so good ones.

Any ability that nullifies pain is not really something I can allow. HEALING, I am ok with. That is, if you flesh out the WORST injury she can heal and how long it takes. That allows me to approximate what lesser injuries she can heal and how long they take, you know?

Additionally, you did not mention in her backstory how she came to New Peaks or what her parents do to make their money in order to send her there... nor did you read the rules of the RP.

Well, first off I have to say that your fighting style is not acceptable. It, in and of itself, is a power. This isn't Naruto, and you can't really just block a person's energy like the Hyuga Clan. If you want pressure point combat, there are styles of martial arts that teach that at higher levels... but even then, those aspects would not generally be taught to a child or teen unless there was a REALLY good reason to do so.

Next up, the power. As with Splash's review, I can't really allow any pain-ignoring abilities. I'm not 100% ok with him ignoring broken bones or other severe injuries, as that would cause horrible damage to his body... but the Judges and Teachers of New Peaks are experienced enough to spot injuries like that and would step in before he maimed himself. So if you want to keep his supernatural levels of stubbornness and determination, I am ok with that.

His backstory needs some work, though. It doesn't explain how he learned to fight other than "Well, he's a tough kid from Glasgow", and it doesn't touch at all on his power or how he learned he had a special talent.

Fighting Style: Wushu (Chinese Martial Arts) hailing from the Northern and Southern Styles, Kyami is a practitioner of Tàijíquán (Tai Chi). He has studied Tàijíquán since the age of eight.
Tàijíquán (Tai Chi) – Jinying—san duan: Gold Eagle (2nd Grade)
**Mixes Southern Style and Northern Style, Northern Style being more graceful and involving kicks while the Southern Style being more forceful and involving fist and arms.

Powers: Electrical Impulse – Kyami has the ability to generate electricity within his body and force it to his hands and feet to deliver faster and stronger blows. Electricity generates heat, and heat can burn, so to can his, but only a slight burn that would leave a bruise and nothing more. It is strong enough to dry out spots of water on a table. The electricity is strong enough to cause electric shock that won’t kill, but give a nasty shock that can cause muscle spasms.

Personality: Kyami believes in respect and honor and thusly will only respect those who have gained his respect and expects the same. He is strong, and dangerously intelligent. Kyami believes that everyone deserves a second chance, and in most cases will try to not serious injure anyone in a fight, but will simply try to subdue them. He knows he’s strong, he knows he can fight and he knows that others will know this, but he is humble.

Background: Born to a Tai Chi instructor and a doctor, Kyami has always been a hard worker and a determined individual. Kyami looks nothing like his mother’s Hispanic heritage, instead his father’s genes took over for the most part although some of the Hispanic beneficial genes from his mother’s side came through. Even though he comes from a very wealthy upbringing he does not take anything for granted. Kyami was raised differently by his mother and father. His father believed in hard work and perseverance. He started training Kyami at an early age in the art of Tai Chi. This was against his wife’s wishes because she raised Kyami to go to school and become something more than a fighter. Although his father agreed, he continued to train Kyami.

One day while he was training with his father and his mother was off doing who knows what, his father told him that he only wanted the best for him. He told him that all the training he was doing was to prepare him for a school that his father had heard of. Curious Kyami asked what school it was, and his father told him it was known as New Peaks, a Fight School for those all around the world who felt that they had what it took to make it through. Kyami was in his last year of middle school when his father told him this. He showed him the brochures, the website and any information that Kyami needed to see.

“We need to train harder Kyami, and we need to train that special ability of yours,” his father would say. Kyami was amazed that a school like New Peaks actually existed, but he was both excited and nervous.

“Dad it means I’ll have to leave you and mom, and look how much it costs,” he’d reply and his dad would simply laugh. “What about mom?” he had asked but his father simply smiled.

“I’ll handle it, don’t you worry, just focus on training and doing your part, that is if you want to go.”

He had left the decision up to Kyami to attend New Peaks, and how could the young teenager say no to an opportunity of a lifetime? The time came for his father to tell his mother and Kyami was not ready for the words that came out of his mother’s mouth directed to his father. She literally called him things he had never heard. Kyami stayed out of it, he didn’t want to make it any worse than what it already was. Eventually, and with heavy persuasion from Kyami’s grandparents, his mother finally agreed, and with only a few weeks to spare before registration. Kyami trained constantly, honing his skills, building his knowledge. It takes more than brawn to fight, one must also have brains. Kyami got all necessary paperwork and all done before the deadline and now he’s come to a point in his life in which he will have to literally fight to pass the prestigious academy.

A thing you should know about his parents is that they are extremely wealthy. Owning companies in nearly every country. They live lavishly and they expect Kyami to do the same.. They are strict. His father sent him to New Peaks with the promise that he would focus on school work and graduating. He didn't want him to focus on relationships or any type of factions or groups. His mother was the same way, and yet he had promised them he'd try.

Since his arrival at New Peak he has accomplished a lot. He dated Kyle for a while before they broke up. He was third place in the school wide tournament, and he slipped into depression. Shortly after his slip into depression he began dating Jun. Jun has helped him a lot in coming to terms with his depression; however, he does have moments in which his emotions peak and he has no control over it. He also joined Imperius Gloria, but doesn't know why he's there or what he's going to do. He's currently focusing on his studies and getting good grades, and he's been spending a lot of time with Jun and rebuilding the friendship with Kyle.

Other: First Rule of Fight School….Don’t Fail Fight School…… Also Kyami carries around a fighting fan, he loves them and he has a collection. He can fight with them as well and they are his weapon of choice when he fights, but the ones he carries he simply fans himself with unless he is attacked.… Also Kyami carries around a fighting fan, he loves them and he has a collection. Fighting Style:
Gwonbeop
Power:Shadow Boxing
The shadow boxing ability takes on a copy stance. Zen can mimic attacks, the attacks are not as efficient or as fast as the opponents and Zen must keep eye contact with the opponent to keep the shadow movements going. If Zen loses eye contact then he is unable to continue mimicking the ability. If he maintains eye contact with an opponent for more then 5 minutes (3 posts) then Zen must break the eye contact and re focus the ability (3 minutes 2 posts) to begin it once more. When this transition time is occurring, his reaction time is slowed down.

Zen is against larger groups but he found a single group he enjoys being around for company and prefers them over being alone. He's cocky and tends to think he's a bit better then everyone. He knows his limits but tries his best to push them until it's at breaking point. Due to this he ends up making everything a joking matter rather then take it seriously. He enjoys fighting and would rather fight then pass regular classes, due to this his grades in classes are rather moderate then excelling in most cases. When Zen is alone, he is either training alone working on a few of his techniques or reading a book about paranormal things. Although, when he ends up getting around the group of friends. Zen ends up calming a bit and interacting with everyone trying to make him as well as everyone else either have a good time or even laugh a little bit.

Background:
Zen was born into a normal family. His father worked in a construction business as a Site manager for a construction company giving him a high income. His mother worked around the house and did a stay at home job as a book author so she could keep taking care of Zen and his younger brother while she worked. His mother made sure they had work done on time as well as homework finished before she would allow them to do anything they wished. The mother stayed on top of their grades, even went as far as making sure they didn't hang out with the wrong crowd. Zen and his brother's daily routine was, go to school, come home, do homework, play around for an hour, eat dinner, watch t.v. , then go to bed.

Everything had been the same until Zen's father decided that Zen would be better off in a fighting school to learn self defense. So with this in mind, his father pushed towards the idea and started off by sending Zen to a martial arts class to learn Gwonbeop. It took Zen nearly half of an entire year before he finally became a novice at the Gwonbeop style. After learning the style, his father brought the idea to Zen and told him about his plans for Zen in a fighting based school. From there, he spent most of his time reading a book or practicing his abilities.
The final year of middle school went by pretty simply and quiet for Zen, a few fights here and there due to people wanting to test his ability in fighting but simple and easy. The next year Zen turned fourteen and his father sent him off to the New Peaks Academy to enhance his abilities and learn how to become a better fighter. Zen, being new to the school decided he would straighten up his grades and do his best to pass the first year of school so he could get out the academy quicker.

During his first year he achieved many things, ranked up in his fighting style, gained new friends, lost his new friends, gained others, etc. Biggest accomplishment of the year so far was winning twelve fights of his own. But at the down side his win/lose ratio was at a -1 where his stats show twelve wins in total and thirteen losses. But in the end, his favorite situation of them all was the tournament. Although he was thrown up against a cyborg or as he saw a battle bot who was made to kill on contact. He of course chose to not fight. Thanks to the judge on the other hand it was considered as an illness and a forfeit. To him, the fight was a loss but at least he walked away with his face still intact. The tournament to him ended well aside from the finals in the senior battle. Which to him, went terribly wrong. Zen spent his freshman year well and was ready to begin with year two even though his first wasn't completed.

Fighting Style: Ninjutsu (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ninjutsu), 1st dan BB

Due to the varied training of Ninjutsu, Ryuko is not limited to know how to fight with her bare hands, she may also fight with staves and poles, with swords and knives, and can accurately throw shuriken up to 15-20 feet depending on the situation.

Powers: She has twice the amount of bones as a normal person, allowing her to torque and bend and twist her body in ways that no normal person ever could. She still feels pain and can still fall victim to a potent submission hold or broken bone if hit in the wrong place, but if her flexibility makes these scenarious much less likely.

Personality: Ryuko is very friendly and warm, charming even. She loves hanging out with people and making lots of friends. She is very personable and kind, while still being very alpha. She is a total alpha, and, despite her relatively short stature, is not intimidated by larger people, especially since because she's smaller, she's harder to hit. She also REALLY loves cosplaying, and frequently goes out in costumes as normal clothes, and is an Otaku, but much more social and less awkward. However, she does not have the ability to tone herself down, and always acts in the extreme, whether it is emotions, or really anything else, always overdoing things whether it be training, or cosplaying, or anything which gets her a reputation of generally being hammy.

Background:

Ryuko was born to a wealthy business Tycoon in the city of Iga, in the Mie prefecture of Japan. She was raised very comfortably, and a very decent (but not overly large) house, with her own bathroom, walk-in closet, huge TV, and pretty much anything she could conceivably want. Unlike many girls, she really got into anime and vidya. Her parents, ever the type to make their child happy (as long as she did well in school, which she did), supported her.

What really interested her, however, were ninja. Being born in Iga, the birthplace of the Iga-Ryu, she frequently visited the Ninja museum and read a lot of stories and watched ninja anime (except for Naruto, she thought it was shit). In School, she even created a 'ninja appreciation club' where her and her friends would meet up after school, watching anime, and make videos.

When she was young, 8 years old, to be precise, her parents, noting her love of all things Ninja-related, managed to enroll her in one of the Ninjutsu Dojos run by the Bujinkan. She took to it well, and her special ability, as well as her natural aggressiveness, allowed her to advance rather rapidly. However, she had to leave because of an accident that occurred shortly after her receiving her 1st dan, in which, during an official sparring match, she broke someone's rib with a bokken so badly that the guy's lung was punctured and ended took him out of commission for an extended period of time. This affected her deeply, and she became depressed for a time, but eventually, once she was confronted by the boy she injured, and he forgave her, he told her it was not her fault, and she got over her depression.

Some time after that, a friend showed her a pamphlet about this special high school out in the middle of the ocean. It was called New Peaks Academy, but this friend knew someone who went there, and the students called it 'fight school', a high school where you could practice martial arts as well as study and get into a good college. At first, she laughed it off as it seemed like the plot for a shounen anime, but then she got into researching it. It seemed like a solid place, with good records. Showing it to her parents, and through much convincing, her parents signed her up for it, and off she went!.

First rule of fight school, don't fail fight school.

C3

Year:

Nationality:

Ecuadorian.

Age:

15

Sex/Gender:

Male

Appearance:

164 CM tall, weighs 60 Kilos Athletic, slim build. He doesn't look intimidating with rather narrow shoulders. Nero has narrow shoulders and strong definition of his muscles while still keeping a slender look - kind of like a professional swimmer. Nero's hair is black with blond highlights - it's unknown if he dyes his hair of if it's naturally this way. His eyes are deep green with a sense of worry to them. An olive hue to his skin from his countless hours in the sun, showing off his central European ancestry.

He's usually dressed in semi-casual clothing, such a dress shirts and chinos, or a tank-top, jeans and his trusty leather jacket.

Fighting Style:

Fencing - 8 Years training, Intermediate Level.
Savate - 4 Years training, Yellow Glove.

Powers:

Photon Manipulation:
Nero is able to manipulate the photons in the air, molding them together into hard light constructs that do not emit heat. His constructs are limited to very few forms and each new form takes incredible amount of practice to master - shown by the fact that it's taken him several years to nail down his rapier. It takes him a few moments to conjure his sword. Taking the form of a rapier with no blade, but instead something similar to a baton, allowing him to deliver swift, but blunt strikes to the opponent. It's durability could be compared to fiberglass and under extreme stress, either to the creation itself, or to Nero will make the blade unstable and the construct will be destroyed.

Personality:

While a rather relaxed young man, Nero isn't exactly easy to deal with. He's sarcastic and overall kind of a douche, yet, he stands his grounds, speaks his mind and isn't afraid to get into fights because of it. He holds great respect for authority, especially that of his elders, yet prone to question the authority of people he can't see why they should hold said authority. Which has lead to him getting into trouble with quite a few people over the course of his life. He likes soft drinks, like soda and watching sitcoms. He strongly dislikes popular music and movies - quite the hipster. Comparing him to a superhero is probably gonna get you a dirty look - or a punch to the face.

Background:

His father, Jean-Luke is an olympic fencer renowned across the entire world, for building an enterprise on his athleticism. Hailing from France, he got a gold medal in the Olympic Games, two times in a row, before retiring at the mere age of 32. Jean retired to south america, from where he would run his company, a clothing line and several promotional videos would earn the Frenchman a small fortune. When Jean was 36, he met a woman named Maria, they fell deeply in love in a small village in Ecuador and soon had a son - Nero.

Nero was a quite the spoiled kid, he had a lot of things, yet, he was humbled because he had to work, just like any other kid in the small village. He had to do chores, keep his grades up and once he was 8 years old, his father pushed fencing onto him. While reluctant, Nero still showed great promise when it came to swordplay, having an innate understanding for battle not found very often in the modern society.

His magical abilities emerged when he was ten years old, when he got lost in the nearby forests at night - with nothing to see and he conjured a makeshift flashlight. Ever since, he's been practicing his martial abilities and once he was demanded strong enough by his father, he was sent to New Peak to further hone his abilities - his father paying for the entire tuition, of course.

Okay, yeah, I got this. You got this, Stand. You were born for this moment. ...Actually, on second thought, I think beating Dark Souls for the first time was probably my highest point of my life. Maybe I was born for that moment. No! Focus, Stand. Focus on the roast.

Right, yeah, CFavano, so first off, your ID number is one too long, so that's a problem.

Second, your character is kind of sort of maybe slightly a little bit definitely 100% Mary Sue. I mean c'mon, she has everything. Nil sacrifices in attractiveness, talent, wealth, status, personality, interests, popularity, etc etc etc. and I feel like a lot of people probably wouldn't take her very seriously, even if she was approved. You don't want that, right? Nobody wants that. That sucks. I would know, I've had it happen several times in the past. The horrible, terrible, cringy 12-year-old past. ...sorry, I'll stay on track.

Your power seems fine to me. Some extra flexibility or whatever, cool cool. Not really much to pick at. I retain that 1st Dan is a little high for a freshman, but whatever, I don't know enough about Ninjutsu to say. And I... I dunno about starting at C1. Like, I get that she might be real strong and all, but the competition at New Peaks is super fierce, and the fact that her entire backstory and motivation seems based on random whims makes it hard for me to believe that she's actually taking her Ninjutsu seriously. Anyone can practice some martial art for a few years because they think it's real neato, get a black belt, and still not know how to handle themselves in a fight. Wealthy people with time and money to waste, in particular, do that a lot. I've seen it IRL multiple times, mostly attending my martial artist friend's tournaments. This problem might solve itself if you make the backstory, and the character in general, more believeable and serious, which would also help match the tone of the RP.

Apparently she's supposed to be real attractive and uses that to get her way, right? But, like... has she ever been in a relationship or anything? There's no indication, via experience or training, that she has any real practice in seducing people. Dating sims don't count, I'm afraid. I get that maybe it'd work on some random gullible doucher or something, but I really don't think she'd fool any of the player characters. I might just be nitpicking, but think that over a bit, maybe?

Also, this accident? Like, I'm super curious about that. If it's something as trivial as, like, maybe she accidentally broke someone's leg or something, that'd be one thing, but you sure didn't make it sound that way.

Um, she's Japanese. Does she, like, know any English? New Peaks is an American establishment. Nothing wrong with foreign students, but maybe add something about how well she's able to communicate? Also, if she just wanted to go to a fight school, why New Peaks in particular, so far away?

So, yeah. That's about it. She's completely devoid of flaws, and that makes it really hard to take her seriously as a character. I just can't believe that a sheltered rich girl is going to up and become a really strong fighter 'cuz she felt like it. Motivation don't work that way, especially because, like... where is she even going with all this, in attending New Peaks? What's her ambition? You kind of make it sound like she's doing this all because she kinda thinks ninjas and anime are cool. Nobody believeable turns into a super strong fighter without taking it seriously, it just doesn't happen. At least give her some kind of goal, or something? Even if it's just, like, maybe she wants to be a career fighter or whatever. Something more substantial than "'cuz she felt like it".

I might as well give it a shot. I know nothing about fighting (well, save for the time it takes to get to each stage, etc.)

Cfavano: According to the rules, your student ID number has to be 8 digits long. Maybe 12345678 could do wonders.

I believe having twice the bones is extremely vague. You should consider the fact that bones are connected to muscles. Perhaps a coated endoskeleton (almost like a filmy layer to protect the bones) could be realistic. I just don't know how someone can move with lots of extra bones without pain, "bone rubbing" or other problems. If she breaks those extra bones, wouldn't it be a lot more pieces to handle? As an anatomy student, twice the amount of bones would mean 206 x 2, as every human has 206 bones. At birth, you have 270 bones, but this decreases to 206. At age thirty, bone mass in the skeleton reaches maximum density. Unless if there is a justified mechanism, I just don't see that happening. That might help in Judo (or even sumo wrestling!), but ninjitsu requires advanced motor skills and flexibility. Maybe taking a Gymnastics class could give a realistic anchor to it... Just an idea...! Lots of judokas come from Japan!

I see a lot of glaring errors in the history. I find it unrealistic that someone into anime and video games can become a good fighter just by looking at them. Trust me; it can take up to eight years (or more than that) to reach a black belt. Also, how many years did it take her to get where she is?

What would be her family significance? I get that she's rich, and she has money and time to waste. I am starting to think Ryuko is that perfect, amazing girl with good curves.... That kind of motivation alone doesn't work in real life. There's more to fighting than just self defense. Why would she do ninjitsu in the first place?

Getting where you want makes you cry; it's supposed to be hard, and you stess out more often. And that accident? Pray, tell! Did that man live?

If her parents were still in Japan (or moved to America with her), Ryuko's trip to the States is gonna cost more than just a few bucks. I want to know the motivation for going to a fight school to egin with. I mean, fight school is not JUST about fighting, but it's an academic thing, too. As such, you may wish to add a bit more on the history. How did her friends, family, etc. feel about her interests in the fight school isolated on an island?

It's almost as if she always gets her way. If I asked MY parents about NPA, they'd probably decline. It's on an island in the Pacific Ocean, dude. That's... REALLY far away. Heck, I'm not even sure if they have INTERNET. Granted, Japan's technically many islands, but that means cutting all contact from your parents.

I don't think a girl who's used to servants and assistance would last long insuch a daring school.

The fact that she wants to go to New Peaks raises more than a few questions (aside from "just for fun!") I don't think anyone would apply to an Ivy League University without thinking of the repercussions. Did Ryyko take any kind of English, or did she just... Magically appear in the States? Getting into Harvard (or even the freaking McDonald University in China!) isn't something to be taken lightly. In a way, New Peaks Academy = Harvard University.

I am new to the fighting genre... I hope this helps out a bit. Next time, you may wish to take more time on your creations. This way, it wouldn't look like a total scrappy (no offense; I can tell you rushed on it.)

Anyway, if this doesn't get in, I still commend you for trying. I feel that Ryuko (just by the appearance) had potential. Try hashing out some details!

Aye, there is internet. As for the handicap markers... there are only a few students, those who are injured in fights and such and are healing up or those paralyzed in their fights (like Boris, in my opening post) who need them. The handicap access is more for employees and visitors to the island, such as family of students, investors, etc.

I won't lie, I was going to give a review, but Fub and IceChateau have actually covered, together, the vast majority of what I would have said. The only additional thing I would have to say is, beyond the 'accident' (which does indeed need much fleshing out, as if you develop that it may change her personality to be less Mary Sue-ish and give her an interesting history), your backstory is just so...mundane. Nothing HAPPENS. It's just 'ooh, fighting looks fun, I'll try it', 'ooh, I got good at fighting, let's go spread it out to the world'. It's all boring, inconsequential, and just plain mundane. There's no excitement, no drama. It's like reading a Garfield comic strip. You know what's coming without even reading to the end. It needs more spice, more joie de vivre.

Well, you fixed most of the things that I noted, but removed a lot that made the character really unique, such as his albinism. Still, everything that needs covered is covered and as long as you're content with him, the character is within acceptable bounds. One MINOR issue and one MODERATE remain, though. Please lower his age to 15, as 17 is quite high for a High School Freshman. The moderate thing is that you need an "unofficial" belt ranking in Bakom. Since it uses many Jiujutsu and Vale Tudo elements, I will advise you use the Brazilian Jiujutsu Belt system. I'm sure that will get fixed soon, so I will add you to the roster now.

Did she get emotionally scarred? I know nothing. For all I know, she didn't care at all that she nearly killed a guy, which is very disturbing.

On top of that, she is still a Mary Sue, as you didn't change the personality at all. This sheet still needs a lot of work.

Name: Aine McHavish
I.D. Number: 64127891
Rank: D1
Year: 1st
Nationality: Irish
Age: 15
Sex/Gender: Male
http://i.imgur.com/prdztII.png

Fighting Style:
Pit fighting - Nothing fancy, nothing special. Pit Fighting only utilizes practical martial arts in order to take down the opponent. Much like MMA fighting it utilizes mainly jabs, hooks, and grappling while rarely using kicks.

Powers:
Aura Strike - Aine is able to use his aura and concentrate it around his body. This results in more powerful strikes. However, the more aura he uses the more damage that he sustains. For instance, using enough aura to increase his strikes by 2x, he will sustain twice the damage. As such it is a last resort technique.

Personality: Aine is a hard worker and doesn’t like to simply sit around. Whether it’s training, fighting, or studying he is always up and doing something. Family is very important to him and any close friend is considered as such. He will do anything for them and will not simply let them be hurt without him at least throwing a punch or two. Aine also allows actions to speak louder than words thinking that diplomacy through speaking is almost worthless, especially in the academy’s environment. Even though the young man loves fighting he does not believe in fighting just for fighting’s sake. Glory, honor, and the defense of others and yourself should be the only excuse for ever harming anyone else.

Background: Aine was always a sickly child. He was born with severe asthma and couldn’t really go out of the house too often. One day his father said that in order to become a real man he had to be able to fight, to protect. And in order to do that he couldn’t watch the world from a bed. Taking his father’s advice to heart Aine slowly began to exercise and at the age of 13 finally became fit enough to start learning how to fight.

This time it wasn’t his father who was the teacher, but his school. For the first couple of years it was rough for Aine. This was the first time he had been at a real school and not at home learning from his mother. They made fun of his asthma, even though it was almost negligible, made fun of his previous schoolings, and made fun of his mother. He did the only thing a young boy does when a stranger insults his mother, he threw a punch and got his ass handed to him. That day he went home with a black eye, bruised rib, and a newfound determination.

His family was too poor to hire a professional teacher and so he went out to learn himself. Aine never thought that the man who was going to change his life was a biker in an Irish pub. It made sense at the time to the young boy. He wanted to get tough, bikers were tough, right? Whether Angus was amused at the boy or had simply took pity on him he began to show him how “to fight like an Irishman”.

A bloody nose, bruises, curses, and a few months later Aine learned how to fight, albeit sloppily, but effectively. Needless to say after getting revenge on the bullies not many people messed with him. His mother was appalled at her young boy getting into fights at school, but his father thought differently. Here was his boy who only a few years ago could barely run, and now he was a fighter in his own right. Though his teacher was shady he was owed the success of Aine’s abilities. Together they scraped enough money together for him to attend an MMA gym with Angus still being his main coach and the gym refining his techniques.

Through the gym he was pointed towards MMA competitions for fighters his age. Here he could hone his skills and even win some money of the side, something that appealed greatly to him. After a year of fighting he got a letter from New Peaks Academy. Apparently there was a scout at one of his fights and they were impressed with the knockout win against one of the adults. Again, his father was supportive of his acceptance but his mother didn’t want her son to make a career out of violence. However, she recognized that he did enjoy the sport, though only God knew why. Under the condition that he return in one piece and kept his academics up Aine was allowed to travel to America and attend the prestigious academy. The school offered a scholarship for him to help with finances and together with the money earned from competitions he enrolled the next year.

That said... don't forget that New Peaks Academy is a full-service island campus. There are restaurants, cinemas, stores, parks, beaches, and more. Just because a few people went to one place doesn't mean you have to do the same. There's lots of NPCs to use, as well as all the unnamed students and staff members of the island.

In fact, I encourage my players to make NPCs for this RP, as that makes RPing easier for everyone. After all, when you have lots of NPCs, there is always someone to interact with.

Alright, it's done. Tear it apart. Also, remember this one's 'sposed to enroll next year IC, if you don't much mind. What was the thing? First rule of fight school, don't fail fight school?
Name: Alicia H. Duncan
I.D. Number: 33014971
Rank: C3
Year: 1st
Nationality: American
Age: 15 (at time of enrollment)
Sex/Gender: Female

Appearance: http://i.imgur.com/MOOKxo1.jpg Two details stand out about Alicia immediately upon laying eyes on her. The first is that she is extremely tall for a girl her age, standing almost exactly as tall as her older brother at about 6'1"; the second is that she still looks very girly despite it. Though not necessarily gorgeous, her facial features are almost excessively feminine, framed with soft lines and centered with a small, dainty nose. Her short, light blonde hair serves not to obscure, but highlight her bright blue eyes, which match well with her generally happy expression. Her features are in fact nearly identical to her older brother's, and stood side by side it's easy to tell that they're siblings, but she lacks the sleepless eyes, and the feminine features are obviously far more attractive on a girl. Much unlike her brother, however, Alicia is very well-kempt and cares more for her appearance, usually choosing to wear clean, lightly colored, long dresses with the occasional frill here and there, of an old-fashioned variety that one would expect to see in a dated movie.

Fighting Style: Like her brother and parents, Alicia does not know a proper style. Unlike her brother, however, she is far more competent in a straight fight, with more speed, accuracy, and general discipline behind her movements. She is mostly unhindered by the lack of a real style, though she could have started as a C1 had she not nearly flunked the non-combat technique portion of the entrance exam. She generally fights in a full-speed-ahead manner to keep the pressure on her opponent, using her disorder to her advantage to win the fight before she runs out of endurance. Should she be unsure of her chances of winning, she generally becomes more defensive, looking for a gap in her opponent's technique. However, she is not exceptionally clever at spotting weaknesses, and will generally only be able to take advantage of glaring flaws.

Powers: Though not necessarily a power, Alicia was born with an extremely rare disorder that gave her more control over her muscles than the human body normally would allow, including trivial muscles such as the ones that wiggle the ears and the tip of the nose. The disorder isn't necessarily a huge help in battle, but she can use it to force her limbs to accelerate to max speed instantly -- a sort of "jumpstart" -- allowing her to react ever so slightly faster to incoming attacks, or make her own just a bit harder to evade. She doesn't use it too often too quickly, as the human body wasn't necessarily designed for such a technique, and sustained use could cause self-injury.

Unfortunately, her cardiac muscles are included in the mix, preventing her heart from beating unconsciously. Due to this, Alicia has to consciously tell her own heart to beat. Though it is not a crippling disability, as she has become used to it over the years, it is still a minor annoyance. It is as if one had to constantly flex their arm once every few seconds every day of their life at the risk of death. In addition, she cannot sleep without using a sort of automatic, low-power defibrillator that keeps her heart pumping through electrical impulses while she is unable to control it herself. The device is small, with a 2-hour battery life. She keeps it on her at all times, but does not ever use it while awake, as being constantly jolted with electricity is highly unpleasant and far more distracting. It activates automatically if it detects a severe lack of activity, such as if she should suddenly fall unconscious.

Personality: Befitting her appearance, Alicia is stereotypically girly, in a way that could be called motherly -- she is generally happy and positive at all times, and excited by little things. She worries over everybody, to the point of being concerned for friend and foe alike if she thinks they might be injured or even emotionally distraught, and sternly lectures people when they deserve it. She does not let this get in the way of competitive fighting, but always apologizes for harming her opponent afterwards, whether she wins or not. Alicia purposely speaks in a higher-pitched and softer voice than her 'default' voice, in a successful attempt to sound more feminine. Much to her brother's dismay, she often expresses concern over her surroundings and the people in them -- as well as constantly reminding people to watch their hygiene and personal grooming, she can often be found throwing away bits of litter people have left strewn about. She seems to dislike any sort of unpleasant atmosphere, and acts to improve her surroundings whenever she has the time.

Despite her somewhat naive behavior, Alicia is in fact intellectually sound, and gets good grades in most subjects, far outdoing her brother academically. Her disorder has made her better than average at mental multitasking, as well as helping to sharpen her short term memory, and she is good at logical problem solving, such as in mathematics. However, she is not incredibly clever or creative, often having trouble thinking outside the box; as such, she isn't a very good writer, artist or actor, completely unlike her older brother.

Background: Alicia barely survived being born due to her disorder, and had to spend a large amount of her early life in special care before she was old enough, at about age 5, to keep her own heart beating without assistance. Even past that, she suffered severe psychological repercussions, unable to grasp the concept that other people didn't have to pay constant attention to simply not dropping dead from a lack of oxygen in one's bloodstream. For the first few years, she was unable to focus clearly due to already having to multitask to stay alive, and was inattentive, antisocial and distant as a consequence. Eventually, however, she became skilled enough at the multitasking that she could begin training under her parents' guidance. She dedicated herself almost fully to this basic, non-style-based training, as it distracted her from the thought of being disabled and different. Here, she found herself a prodigy -- though she started out slow, she eventually began to find a sort of rhythm in how her heart was meant to beat during combat, using it as a metronome to time her attacks and dodges. Due to her dedication, as well as her disorder giving her a slight edge in mobility, she quickly outdid her brother in talent and skill. She showed far more promise in her first couple years of training than her sibling did in all of his childhood, setting herself up as the champion her parents were expecting to raise and giving herself a major confidence boost.

Her initial neuroses all but forgotten, she dedicated herself a bit less to her training, and found herself with more free time; yet nothing to do with it, having no real identity beyond fighting. Her older brother would often hog the TV, and with nothing better to do she would unattentively watch with him. Because of his tastes, most of the shows and movies were older, written in a time where men were expected to be breadwinners, women were expected to be housewives, and girls played with dolls and wore pretty dresses. Though uninterested in the actual action and drama that drew her sibling in, the old-fashioned values stuck with Alicia ever so slightly, and she found herself wondering if she was supposed to be more girly, as she'd never truly had any time for it before.

This thought faded quickly, but a seed from it stuck in her head and sprouted into a personality of sorts, where she suddenly found herself liking soft colors and wanting to wear dresses like the ones she'd seen on TV. Though her parents were a bit apprehensive about these ideals, they still obliged most of her requests, happy that at least she was finding an identity for herself. Still, they were careful to tell her that what she'd seen in old movies needn't reflect reality, and she eventually came to the conclusion on her own that she wanted to be more feminine, even if she wasn't expected to be -- and even if her impression of femininity was a bit outdated. As a matter of course, she began to pick up more than ever on the fact that her brother was a lazy, unmotivated slob, and started to worry over him incessantly, much to his chagrin.

Eventually, her brother left of his own accord to attend New Peaks, leaving Alicia alone with their parents. Alicia once again dedicated herself almost fully to her training, this time with a real purpose; she was determined to follow her older brother into New Peaks, knowing that if he could get in, she should be able to manage it easily. Her parents were even more concerned over her leaving than they were for her sibling, knowing that her disorder would make things risky for her in an uncontrolled environment. It took almost a full year for Alicia to convince them that she would not let her disability hinder her. Unlike her brother, she was capable of being responsible and not forgetting important details -- no small thanks to her condition -- and she made it very clear over the course of the year that she would have no trouble being on her own in a new place. Her parents eventually gave in and told her she would be allowed to attend, with a promise that she would unenroll and return home ASAP if anything went wrong.

Ello Clyde. I'm Iwa, the resident CS reviewer.

Okay, first off, the grammar of your CS is...distractingly bad. Commas breaking up sentences, the occasional misspelled word, and various run-ons make your CS difficult to read in places, and I worry it'll affect your posts' readability IC. Please watch it in the future.

Ok, second off.
'But just because he’s quiet doesn’t mean he isn’t talkative.' <- Actually, that's the definition of quiet, unless he is talkative but has a very soft speaking voice. You're making him out as a shy type faking it until he makes it, which is fine, but you've got the personality types mixing and clashing until I can't figure out which is which, and I think it needs better clarification and explanation. Otherwise I can't tell how he's going to react to a situation, and that's not a good thing.

I actually kinda like his backstory. It's got a bit of depth and character building, which is good, but there's a problem or two I have with it. If his bullying WAS the cause of his classmate's suicide, there would have been an investigation and he would have been found and at the very least spent some time in juvenile prison, possibly even been tried as an adult depending on the age. That's a plot hole I don't like and it needs to be fixed up. Other than that, it almost seems like your backstory is missing a paragraph or two. I don't see an explanation of when he started learning Pi Gua Quan, nor when he agreed with his parents to come to New Peaks. Another paragraph explaining those, even tokenly, would be nice.

Also...you know 7th Kyu is practically the worst belt you can have for a fighting style, right? You may want to change that if he wants a chance against the better fighters (Kyami, Junkiro, Vincento) in the school. Rank is fine, no complaints there, but you need to be careful.

Last note: I think I'm reading the power right, but clarify: Only on the VERY first hit he lands, he gets to stagger the foe to allow follow-ups. Correct?

Fix these things up, and I think it'll be good to go.

I'm quiet and talkative. He's not shy, I am simply an introvert. I don't like talking, but I do talk when a topic interest me. So you can be talkative and quiet. I don't talk nearly as much as everyone else, but I can talk about certain topics nearly as much as everyone else. <----best way to explain it

He didn't agree to going to New Peaks. He didn't want to go to New Peaks, he's kind of here not of his own.

Also, real life doesn't follow that structure very well. Life isn't always that logical. I mirrored the story off a kid I new back in Liverpool when we were young. It was more of a rumor from the kids and parents, who suspected it was the bullying. But no one pressed charges and there was no other investigation since the kid already had some other mental health problems.

I figured since he isn't here of his own volition, and that he kind of recently started retraining in Pi Guan Qua. That....yeah he's going to get his ass handed into the dirt.

Maybe at your school, or a higher-class school. This shit could totally (and does) go under the radar in lower quality schools. There are plenty of cases where a classmate committing suicide is just addressed as a tragedy and bullying isn't considered as a factor. There could've been an investigation, but "at least spending some time in juvenile prison and possibly being tried as an adult"? Perhaps if it was a big deal, but this shit can get downplayed easily. It's only the ones you see on the news or the severe cases that you are considering.

That's no plot hole, it's a space station it could totally (and does) happen

Thanks.

I took many events I knew of some other kids back in Liverpool into the design of his history. The wood splinter was from a kid I knew who got plastic in his eye. We had a subsitute teacher who tried to rouse a noisy classroom by making a loud noise, the loud noise happened to be his plastic clipboard, and the clipboard snapped in half and shards of plastic fell into a kids eye. Thus the whole Wood Splinters in Sloans.

But then the event of the kid committing suicide. I already explained to Izu.

And Monstercat is great. Thank you. I felt the song and lyrics fit, even if it was not emo rock

Clyde, man....a few things.

1. Well he HAD to agree to go to New Peaks, otherwise he wouldn't be there. There's a whole paragraph just missing where his parents either forced him or he gave in. You can explain it to me, but I'd rather see it in the backstory. Also, when did he transition from karate to Pi Gua Quan? They ARE totally different fighting styles, and you never mention when he picks it up.

2. The thing is, the way you have it written about the bullying, that isn't clear. If you want it to be that way, WRITE it that way, alright? That way you don't have to explain it. Just write the details in. It stymies questions AND makes the story better.

3. Dude, I just looked up the dictionary definitions of quiet and talkative, and they are antonyms of each other. I think the word you may be looking for is 'passionate'. If a certain topic is what makes you/Sloan more talky, then it is that topic that changes how you react because you have a passion for it. It's confusing the way you have it worded and I would prefer you change it so it becomes more cohesive.

4. If you intend to stick with the 'ass handed to you' thing (which by the way, Standatrocity already is doing xD), then I would ask you to put Sloan's rank somewhere in the Es. 7th Kyu is just bad, and it'd be a wonder for him to rise out of E rank, especially if he is, as you put it, getting his ass handed into the dirt.

Just my thought processes.

You can explain it to me, but I'd rather see it in the backstory. Also, when did he transition from karate to Pi Gua Quan? They ARE totally different fighting styles, and you never mention when he picks it up.

At New Peaks.....I'll fix his rank to an E, but literally he's just picking it up because it's a brief interest because it's something his mother learned when she was young.

2. The thing is, the way you have it written about the bullying, that isn't clear. If you want it to be that way, WRITE it that way, alright? That way you don't have to explain it. Just write the details in. It stymies questions AND makes the story better.

I'm writing from the limited perspective of a 13 year old. He wouldn't know about all of that background stuff

I'll reword it

I'll change it

Hey-o~ So I'm going to admit a few things right off the bat with everyone before jumping in and falling flat on my face lolz I mostly joined because Beta (of whom I greatly admire as a writer, particularly with combat) recommended that I join, and because I joined RPA in the first place to learn more and better myself as a writer, (which Beta said Fight School partially is in and of itself). Challenging myself comes with the package, and boy is combat challenging for me; it's actually what I struggle most with writing. I've gotten a little better at it with another RP I'm a part of, Pokemon: the Change, but even then I'm constantly searching for help from the GMs and struggling to balance between the extremes of either making my character too weak or overpowered. So, that said, Beta told me he'd be happy to help me with the combat portions of this RP, but I wanted to mention that I'm more than happy to get *constructive* critique from anyone, and I'm always willing to edit my post if I screw up somehow, or if I could just generally do way better. I've been told I worry too much and that I'm not as bad at combat as I think I am too, though, but I'd rather make ya'll aware of my paranoia than I would jump in and piss all of you off because "omg who is this guy and why is he here???"

I appreciate your patience and understanding in advance, and I'll do my best not to slow down this RP just to teach me how to do, or anything like that!

Name: Aegisyth Hayes
Nickname: Jay and AJ

Rank: D2
Year: 1st Year
Nationality: Native American Indian & Caucasian American
Language(s): English and Aleut (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eskimo%E2%80%93Aleut_languages) fluently, at an intermediate level with Korean
Age: 16 (September 6th)
Sex/Gender: Male

------
APPEARANCE
------

I am in the process of drawing/commissioning art of his character. In the meantime, the following pictures are all my reference pictures, and this written description will have to suffice; sorry.

Height: 6' even (182 cm)
Weight: 152 lbs (68.9 kg)
Body Structure: Toned but on the skinnier side. He's not a hyper-metabolism twig or anything, but he's below average size for sure. His body structure leans towards an Asian MMA fighter's average build

COLORS
He's albino (specifically OCA2 (http://www.healthline.com/health/albinism#Types2)), therefore he has minimal color to his pigment-lacking hair, skin, and eyes (his albino color scheme (http://data.whicdn.com/images/48653672/large.jpg)). He's got white eyelashes and eyebrows, but his hair itself has a yellow tint/shimmer to it.

Skin: Pale Peach
Hair: Platinum Blonde // Silver-White
Eyes: Red and Blue // Pink (http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff71/korkarea/7b2260d6602eeea253f481fd9ba003c1_zpsarqjrhpw.jpg)

If Aegisyth's life was made into a movie and I could pick anyone to play him no limits, he'd undoubtedly be played by the model Andrej Pejic, who at his most masculine basically looks almost exactly as I envision him to look. I'd have him work out a bit more to get some more muscle tone, but generally speaking, he's got the right look.

COMBAT
------

Fighting Style: (1) Kuk Sool Won (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuk_Sool_Won) (2) with a primary focus on Taekwondo (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taekwondo)
Rank 1: Black-Brown Belt (Dahn Boh Nym) (http://kuksoolwon.wikia.com/wiki/Ranks)
Rank 2: Red Belt (https://ataonline.com/taekwondo/belts/index.asp)

Powers: (1) Fights natrually artistically; even though he doesn't try at this point, his fighting style is refined and beautiful to watch no matter who or how he's fighting. People who have seen him fight say that he "fights with a flow like water as if it's second nature to him." (2) Fights better in the dark, since he's adapted to a dark setting on account of his photophobia

------
PERSONALITY
------

Stoic and proud, AJ immediately seems like the type of guy who would keep to himself and avoid others, but that's not who he is, he actually really enjoys making conversation and (correctly) debating, loving the thrill of an engaging discussion. It's true that he'd rather train than party, and is constantly told that he's boring, bland, and generally not fun, but that's not completely true. When he does let loose, he's a real blast, willing to try dangerous stunts (as long as all necessary safety precautions are taken), explore even in places he shouldn't, and is the type of person who enjoys adrenaline enough to seek it out. He just has strict priorities of his studies and training, so while they take over his life a bit more than anything else, he does enjoy taking breaks when his schedule allows and going out to enjoy some nightlife while he paints the town red. He's definitely a night owl, which is fairly expected considering how he has to monitor how much sunlight he's getting to avoid burning himself, and he enjoys his own company just as much as he enjoys the company of friends. His personal motto is "work hard, play hard." Somehow he manages to do all of this while maintaining a level of elegance and regality that can either put people off or attract them, more often the latter. He's a bit of a handful to anyone of authority, but he's a generally likable guy even with his flaws.

The sign of Virgo is symbolized by Virgin, which depicts purity.

They can be prudish but not unnecessarily so. Virgos have a very strong sense of goods and bad, which make them highly discriminating. They have an unparalleled ability to sense wrong motives of people. This makes them very careful in whatever they do.

The Virgo horoscope suggests that it is a passive zodiac sign. You will rarely find Virgos teeming with activities. But they are not actually passive, at the real moments you will find them highly agile. Virgos exercise great amount of caution in whatever they do. They often are cleanliness freaks, which may seem irrational to others. Although Virgos are intelligent but at the same time they remain confused about the decision making chores of daily life.

Virgos are great at making connection with people. But they may not be as extrovert as some of the other signs of the zodiac chart. They may be careful about not making their true feelings public.

The lives of Virgos are often clouded by their keen sense of responsibility. They may take too much pressure on them quite unnecessarily. They can be strict disciplinarians. However, if they allow some breeze in their lives they would actually be able to enjoy it better.

However, Virgos can be extremely easygoing and it can be fun being around them. They have engaging nature and can fascinate people easily with their intelligent talks.

One thing to remember about Virgos is that they can’t be deceived with mere show of gallantry and courteousness.

Virgo the sign of Earth
Virgo belongs to the Earth group and quite rightly so because Earth sign represents practicality. Virgos are extremely practical in their thinking. They have a logical mind. They have an uncanny ability to sense wrongs in a situation.

According to the Virgo horoscope predictions, Virgos live with their feet firmly placed on the ground. The earth signs would rather accept what is real than living in an imaginary world. That is why their suggestions are often sought after by others.

Virgos analyze their situations thoroughly and then make choices about it.

Virgo Characteristics
-Logical
-Observant
-Helpful
-Attentive
-Reliable
-Accurate
-Skeptical
-Selective
-Inflexible
-Interfering
-Cold

Positive Qualities of Virgo
Virgos love purity and they are the purist. They often are critical while judging their near and dear ones. They are observant and analytical. When it comes to friendship, they are very reliable. They are helpful and always eager to help others. They do not love to talk much. They talk briefly as well as answer briefly. They have a natural knack in music and often dreams to be musician.

Negative Qualities of Virgo
Virgos are perfectionists, but very often, their perfect and purity come as an intolerable criticism for their close ones. They often act cynical, when you ask them any question. Sometimes they are interfering and rigid. They are so particular about their belongings that sometimes it appears irritating. Virgos sometimes react very coldly without your expectations. For this reason, they often lead a boring life.

Traits of Virgo
[U]Meticulous: Virgos are very alert about everything. They consciously see that they do not ruin or destroy anything, in the course of doing any job. They take a closer look at everything and do the needful to do the task carefully without hurting anyone.

Moody: As mentioned earlier, Virgos are always moody. For their unpredictable mood, they are the best people for you, if you love excitement in life.

Perfectionist: Almost all Virgos are perfectionists. They know what they want and they prefer to keep their every belonging at the proper place. They often turn finicky in order to get all things in place.

Economical: Virgos are very economical in every sphere of their life. You cannot tell them miser but they definitely know how to save. They are very calculative and they never miss a single chance to strike the best deal, be it in the business or in street shopping.

Conventional: Virgos are very tradition in every aspect of life. They strictly believe in the values and principles, with which they grow up. They never want to experiment rather than always go for the tested paths. They do not have any interest or hobby in life.

Trustworthy: Virgos are very trustworthy. Be in any situation in life, if you are with a Virgo, he or she will help you from the deepest corner of his/her heart. They are always available to do their duties for their near and dear ones. Moreover, they do not complain about any issue, which they face in accomplishing the obligations.

Virgo Strengths
Virgos have distinctive traits which mark them differently from the rest. Sagacity is the most salient feature of Virgos. In fact, they are the most level headed of all the zodiac signs. They have an analytical mind which helps them approach a situation critically.

Virgos are gifted with the ability to differentiate a good from the bad. It is hard to deceive Virgo since they can see through you. Virgos are less likely to fall for show of power, money or status.

Virgos are reliable as friends. Their decisions are therefore sought after by others on critical situations. Strengths of Virgos are,
-Logical
-Attentive
-Caring
-Dependable
-Accurate

Virgo Weaknesses
When being practical is the strength of Virgo, overdoing it also makes it their weakness. Virgos are cleanliness freaks and at times unnecessarily so. They are suspicious of everything and everyone around them. They are fussy and take too much interest in others’ affairs. Their nature to put everything in the right order can make them undesirable to others. Weaknesses of Virgos are,
-Cynical
-Selective
-Inflexible
-Indifferent
-Meddlesome

Nature of Virgo
It is easy to get a wrong idea about Virgos that they are calm and composed. But in reality they are nervous and unorganized in their minds. Most of the time, they use up all their energy in arranging their surrounding when their minds remain unorganized. Virgos spend too much time in thinking and therefore are often found missing in action.

They tend to make fuss over simple issues as well. Virgos are ambitious and inquisitive and strive to learn everything about a thing. Virgos have a very thinking and active mind which can’t be silenced. They don’t readily accept other’s point of view.

Virgos are also very independent. Their independence along with their thinking mind may lead to narrow-mindedness as well. However, Virgos have clear hearts full of love and affection for others. They usually don’t allow any malicious thinking about others.

Core Values: Responsibility, Balance, Peace and Honor

Habits/Quirks: (1) He taps his feet and fingers a lot. He's not always aware that he's doing it, but he tries to be courteous of others and actively attempts to do this in as quiet of a manner as possible. (2) He likes repetition so he's been known to repeat things a lot and get stuck in particular patterns/cycles. For example when he finds a new song he likes, he listens to it over and over for days, sometimes even weeks on end until he either tires of it or finds something new.

Likes:
Repetition | Music | Classical Music | Dubstep | Organization | Philosophy | Translucent/Clear Things | White | Gold | Going really fast (cars, motorcycles, etc.) | Eastern cultures, languages, etc. | Seafood | Salads | Parkour | Classic Video Games | Handheld Video Games | Sunrise & Sunset

Dislikes:
Cheese | TV | News & Politics | Phone and Tablet Games | Most Movies | Silver | When people underestimate him based on his size | Bright Light | The Sun | Fighting Unnecessarily | Dirty Fighting, or when people break/bend rules in their favor | When people call him "cute" when he's trying to be serious, or people who don't take him seriously based on him being a "pretty boy"

Fun Facts:
- Prefers to go by AJ over Jay, but doesn't mind either
- AJ is a Pescetarian, which means the only meat he eats is fish. Aside from his diet, he lives a mostly vegan lifestyle.
- N64 is his favorite game console, but he also really loves the Super Nintendo
- He has photophobia, meaning that bright lights effect his eyesight and causes dizziness and headaches
- He often meditates

I am in the process of drawing/commissioning art of his character. In the meantime, the following pictures are all my reference pictures, and this written description will have to suffice; sorry.

Voice: He sounds like whoever is singing in Tiësto's "Red Lights" song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFF0mV24WCY) but due to the inflection of his voice that makes it a bit higher, he sounds more like Descemer Bueno (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEWt9dMn7b8) when he speaks Spanish

Height: 6' even (182 cm)
Weight: 168 lbs (76.2 kg)
Body Structure: Toned and built almost like a grown man. He's had his growth spurt and it shows. If you didn't know any better, you'd probably guess that he's in his early to mid 20's by now.

COLORS
Skin: Copper-Brown
Hair: Chestnut; looks black in certain light

This picture looks most like how I want him to look: long, dark brown hair, subtle facial hair, broad shoulders, highly athletic build, copper-skinned. Just imagine this guy younger, and you've pretty much got Rohan nailed.

http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff71/korkarea/43ff1d237bd9aaabb2f362919955aa38_zpsied4kxer.jpg

Rohan has a strong jawline with fairly soft features. His eyes and nose are definitely from his mother, while his chin, cheeks, and lips are more likely from his father's side. His eyebrows are thicker and straighter, but it works for him, almost to a point where thin eyebrows would make his face look a bit sparce. His hair is mostly straight, but it has a slight wave to it that he sometimes likes to emphasize with hair spray.

Rank: 1st Degree Black Belt

[i]NOTE: There is no technical ranking system for JHR, so for the sake of this RP, I've decided to go with an MMA ranking system (http://www.pancrase.us/mma_belt_ranks.htm). He doesn't have the belts or anything, but he's equivalent in technical skill to MMA fighters of this rank.

Powers: (1) Can "see" via vibrations and sounds almost as well as someone who isn't blind
(2) Hyper-hearing & hyper-smell; his other senses have been heightened to make up for his loss of eyesight

------
PERSONALITY
------

Rohan is naturally easy-going and peaceful, living life at his own pace and just enjoying the ride. He's known to be a bit of a goofball with his friends once he's comfortable enough with them, but up until that point he's stand-offish and quiet and really just keeps to himself; he's poor at showing his emotions and doesn't generally open up unless he trusts you with his everything. He's also very picky about which friends are worth keeping, and doesn't barrel into friendships quickly nor easily. Those who wish to get past his rough outer shell need to work hard, because in Rohan's experience, it's safer to assume that nobody is to be trusted unless proven otherwise. He doesn't give respect unless he feels they've earned it, and while he generally respects authority, authority does not always mean one is right, and he's well aware of that. He can either be an angel or a devil to work with depending on who you are and his opinion of you, but most find that even if he doesn't like you, keeping out of his way is enough to prevent altercations, since he rarely if ever goes out of his way to start something - it's just not in his nature to do so.

Core Values: Responsibility, Respect, Caution, and Compassion

Habits/Quirks: Often cracks his neck, fingers, shoulders, and back. His signature habit is that in preparation for battle is to crack his neck and knuckles, and right after battle he'll crack his back and shoulders.

Likes:
Music | Drums | Dancing | Bitter Foods | Spicy Foods | Hot Peppers | Dark Chocolate | Cinnamon-flavored Anything | Making fun of people who try to explain what sight is like to him in a patronizing way | Showing off | Soft Hair | Random acts of kindness | Mildly Intimidating people with his height, build, and/or intelligence | Reading and Books | Alcohol | Texture | Surprising people

Dislikes:
Ranged Combat | Continuous loud noises | Earthquakes | Most Sweets | Seafood | Carbonated Drinks | The type of people who give him a $1 bill for his change instead of a $5 just because he can't see that they're robbing him | People who try to make him feel bad for his strengths just because they're not as smart/strong | Large bodies of water | Bright Lights

Fun Facts:
- Rohan is deathly afraid of the Ocean and drowning. He knows how to swim and doesn't really mind pools or ponds, but if the water goes above his waist or he can't quickly and easily find the edge of the pool/etc. he starts to panic.
- His favorite animals are horses, closely followed by snakes, mountain lions, wolves, and bears. He also really likes dinosaurs and mythical creatures, mostly centaurs and dragons.
- His favorite color is brown, not because he knows what it looks like, but because he's been told it's the color of many of his favorite things as well as the color of his mother's eyes
- Rohan is a real mama's boy, deeply admiring her. He loves his whole family quite a lot, however, and would never say that he favors anyone, just that he's most similar too and closest wit his mother
- Rohan is blind as a bat, but he can still "see" when the lights are on or off, which is why he hates particularly bright lights, since they give him a headache

His mother, Haseya (http://s242.photobucket.com/user/korkarea/media/mom_zpsu9wnhvas.jpg.html), was a native Navajo woman born and raised on a reservation, and his father, Alejandro (http://s242.photobucket.com/user/korkarea/media/dad_zps6m6dnkpk.jpg.html), was a Venuzuelan man visiting Colorado. It all started in Blackhawk over a game of blackjack where Haseya and Alejandro met eyes and began drinking and betting together. As they won more and more money, they drank more and more, and inevitably had a steamy night that was supposed to end at a one-night-stand, but instead turned into Rohan.

Haseya texted Alejandro a week after their escapades with nothing more than a picture of the pregnancy test and a polite request to call her as soon as he could. When he did, they talked about their options and came to the conclusion that they both were against aborting the baby, and wanted to keep it if that was at all possible. From there, however, his parents didn't know what exactly to do. They didn't even know each other, let alone know if they loved each other, so making a decision as big as whether or not to move countries for their child was one that just couldn't be done just yet. They tried to plan around both parents, both countries, both financial situations, but in the end they discovered that they couldn't afford to appropriately provide for him whether he stayed with his mother on the reserve, or went back to Venuzuela with his father. Adoption was looking like their only choice, as little as they wanted to do it, up until a simple question changed everything. 2 months pregnant, Haseya finally asked curiously, "What were you doing in the states anyway?" during a weekly long-distance phone call.

"I was there for my half-brother, José (http://s242.photobucket.com/user/korkarea/media/uncle_zps4dzmyrd3.jpg.html)'s, wedding. He paid for my ticket, as well as our mom and her husband, and let us stay at his house so that we could attend the small ceremony." The two began talking about their families and lives when it finally dawned on Alejandro. "Wait a minute... My brother and his wife have been trying to have a baby, but he's infertile and the adoption process is a painstakingly long one. It's definitely unorthodox, but what if our kid had 4 parents? With them helping us, we could certainly afford to keep him fed and even educated!" The two decided that it was worth a try, and after a few long discussions with José and his wife, Heather (http://s242.photobucket.com/user/korkarea/media/aunt_zpsiogfeeb8.jpg.html), they all were in agreement that it would probably do the baby good to be raised so culturally diverse and uniquely despite the monetary strains it would put on all four of them. They came up with a plan, went over their ideas with other members of their families and close friends, and eventually it was settled: their child was to be raised with 4 guardians.

Nine months later, Rohan was born on his mother's Indian Reservation in the Navajo Nation (http://www.lapahie.com/navajo_map_lg.cfm), specifically in the part closest to Colorado. As planned, he stayed with his mother for the first 2 years of his life before he began to travel on a regular basis between all his parents. Legally his aunt and uncle are his guardians, but he still refers to them as his tío (http://www.spanishdict.com/translate/uncle) and tía (http://www.spanishdict.com/translate/aunt), reserving amá (https://navajowotd.com/word/akei/) and papá (http://www.spanishdict.com/translate/dad) for his biological parents.

Unfortunately when Rohan turned 4 he was diagnosed with Primary Congenital Glaucoma (https://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/condition/early-onset-glaucoma#genes). The family banded together to try and help as best as they could, but they couldn't change fate, and by Rohan's 5th birthday he was completely blind. Stranger yet, Rohan's once icy blue eyes developed into red eyes (http://hubpages.com/education/Rarest-Eye-Color-in-Humans) due to the fact that his eyes weren't producing enough myocilin to keep them blue. Rohan hardly remembers what life was like before he lost his eyesight, and what little he remembers is extremely minimal to a point of next to no significance (blurry blobs and mostly darkness, etc.). He and his family believe it to be for the better that if he had to lose his eyesight, he lose it earlier rather than later.

His main home is in America with Heather and José since it was closest to the best school the four parental figures could afford, but he spent summers with his father in Venezula and visited his mother on the reservation at least every other weekend, writing letters to his parents to keep in contact in between. Every year he would get 3 Birthdays and 3 Christmas celebrations, all extremely different but equally enjoyable. He has always been well aware of how different he's been raised, but he's thankful for the chance to get closer to his aunt and uncle than he otherwise would have, and it's because of him that his parents can be such close friends even across the Americas.

Rohan's life wasn't rainbows and sunshine, though. His families are definitely not rich in anything beyond culture. 2 of his 3 homes are fighting against poverty and his 3rd is only lower-middle class. They all prioritize their finances very strictly, primarily spending money on Rohan's travel expenses and education. He's owned no more than 2 pairs of shoes at a time, he had to ride the bus to and from school to save on gas, and he was never allowed to have a family pet due to the costliness of such a thing. Despite not having many material possessions, his mental aptitude is incredible, and even though he started school late (the medical bills for treating his Glaucoma set the 4 parents back), he was able to skip a couple grades and catch up by the time he was in 3rd grade. He also learned quickly how to entertain himself, be that with his studies or by playing outside, and what was deeply instilled in his life was the mentality that if you work hard, you'll go far, so he takes his education and health extremely seriously.

As a decently nerdy blind kid whose fairly introverted by nature, Rohan struggled to make and keep friends from an early age, only ever maintaining one, Asteria (http://flightrising.com/main.php?p=lair&tab=dragon&id=34951&did=2456958), who lives on the reservation. His family could barely afford the special educational needs he required, so while he got braille books, an additional "special needs" teacher, and all his others teachers understood the limits his blindness placed on him in regards to their regular teaching methods, he still ended up in a public school with peers who all could see and weren't quite refined enough to always hold their tongue about Rohan's disability. At one point while in 4th grade, the bullying became so bad that his school and family arranged for him to take an extended leave, and he went to be with his mother on the reservation for a month. During this month, his family all discussed the best options for his education as well as his mental health. They debated teaching him at home, but their experiences doing so while he was off for this month proved that it wasn't an option; between work and their own lack of knowledge about many of the things they deemed necessary for Rohan's development, they collectively agreed he'd be losing more than he gained if any of them taught him, and they couldn't afford to have a personal teacher nor the technological equipment necessary for him to take online classes. They all began talking about potentially moving him in with his father in Venezuela when his mother pointed out, "Switching schools across countries will only draw attention to him as 'the new foreign kid' and with the struggles he's already facing, it'll more likely than not increase the number of bullies. That's not a chance I'm willing to take, not with how much it will cost. We have to be more tactful and only consider that as a last resort." That left them with the choices to either keep him where he was at, or to switch him to another school in the district.

Rohan opted for switching schools at the end of the year (it was late November by the time he went back) so that he didn't fall behind, but this choice came with it's own consequences. Rohan got beat up frequently despite his teachers doing their best to shelter him and keep him protected. This sheltering was a double-edged sword because while it was helping him avoid some of the bullies, it was creating others. He became the teacher's pet in the most literal sense, gaining the name because not only were his study habits crazy, but also because he was rarely if ever unsupervised by a teacher. The worst instance of bullying was when one kid brought a dog collar and leash to school and nearly killed Rohan in the bathrooms by forcing the too-small collar around Rohan's neck, and tying his hands up with the leash so that he couldn't undo it. The kid only meant to humiliate Rohan and panicked when he stopped breathing, calling for help when Rohan started to turn blue and the collar wasn't coming undone. This event was enough to drive his family over the edge, and regardless of Rohan's wishes to stick out the year so that he didn't fall behind again, they switched him during winter break.

That Christmas he stayed in Venezuela with his father, who started to teach him how to defend himself the way Rohan's grandfather taught him: 52 Blocks. From there on, Rohan felt as though he were reborn. He loved the feeling of the air against his skin as he punched or kicked swiftly and hard, and he deeply enjoyed listening to the play-by-play's of MMA or WWE fights on the radio with his father and uncle. He trained harder than he'd ever studied, which was saying a lot, and in middle school got a part-time job to afford taking official classes beyond what his uncle and father could teach him. These classes worked out incredibly well, and for the first time, Rohan gained respect since fellow fighters knew that fighting blind was an absurdly difficult task. Rohan felt like he'd found his calling, and with his new found passion came a lot more positives than just that: bullies backed off the moment they realized he was equipped to handle himself, Rohan made more like-minded friends, and most importantly he received scholarships to incredible schools that he would never have otherwise had the money to afford. The school that stood out to him the most was New Peaks Academy, and while his financial status and the paperwork involved for his education puts him technically back a year for his age, him and his family are confident that his undocumented intelligence and his capabilities to soak up information like a sponge and learn quickly will help him excel, and hopefully do the same thing he did in elementary: skip a grade to make up for this.

Due to the effects of education on his life, and how simply learning new things - be it through reading or through hands-on training - got him where he is now, Rohan is passionate about teaching. He is transferring to Twin Peaks with high hopes of getting into a good college, and later getting a teaching degree so he can live his dream by opening and running his very own dojo for the disabled.

P.S. I know that these characters are very similar. They turn out to be best friends as they grow up calling each other blood brothers and everything based on how well they can relate to one another, and I decided to use this RP as a method of building that history and how they met; hopefully that's not a bother!

Hey guys! Beta asked me to come here and tell you that he actually lost his internet access due to some real life issues. The RP isn't closing but it will be really really difficult for him to post for the next few weeks (hopefully not any longer). Just wanted to stop in and let you guys know! If you have any questions about it you can PM me and I'll try to get the answers from him.

Thanks in advance for the understanding :)

Got a post up while I was at Starbucks. Sorry for the delay.

P.S. It was done on a mobile. People who say posting on them is hard... it's not. Inconvenient? Sure. Hard? Not so much.

P.S.S. Cartel, I will get your review up as soon as possible. Roomie said they paid the internet this afternoon, so with luck I will have my internet back when I get home tonight.

Take your time, man c: Sorry to hear about the wifi situation, hopefully all works out the way it seems to be!

I'll try to get AJ's backstory finished in the next few days so that you can review the whole thing at once, but you just review it when you get a good chance if I don't do so in time; sorry in advance if so!

It's alright. You can take your time.

P.S. It was done on a mobile. People who say posting on them is hard... it's not. Inconvenient? Sure. Hard? Not so much.

I always post replies in RPs on my phone. Except for when I post my CS. I find it easier to type there than in a computer because my fingers feel cramped and stuff afterwards. I type faster on the phone. That, and I usually write when I'm out of the house.

Cartel, as always you went above and beyond when writing your characters. As much as I admire this about you as a writer, I would prefer if you kept things a bit more simple and followed the template, including a written history for AJ rather than a link.

As for AJ's powers? Fighting altruistically isn't really a power, and "flowing like water" isn't really something attributed to a hard stand-up style such as Taekwondo/Kuk Sool Won. That said, he can certainly maintain a level of grace and poise despite the style's rigidity. His ability to see better in the dark could work, however. Perhaps as a result of growing up where it is dark for six months of the year, he has adapted to darker conditions. Lastly, 16 is just a BIT too old for a Freshman... unless you can give a fair reason why he started a year late or is a year behind.

For Rohan? Hmm... I can see a need to make up for his lost eyesight, but you're approaching the levels of Matt Murdock, what with "seeing" vibrations and smells. Perhaps word it a bit more carefully so as to not make it seem completely overpowered? This is a low-power setting, after all. Similarly, a Black Belt of Jailhouse Rock would definitely NOT be the lowest rank possible. If his power made up for his lost eyesight, he would easily come in at D1 or C3 considering how potent Jailhouse Rock is. Also... at 17 years old, he is too old to be a Freshman. Drop him down to 15 or (as I mentioned for AJ) 16, please.

Lastly... I do limit people to one character at first. So you'll have to choose one of them to lead off with. Down the line you may have a second.

All in all, I think they will be interesting additions... but you need to tone down the detail just a bit, follow the presented template, and choose one of them to start off with.

Thanks a ton for giving Fight School a shot, by the way. :)

Fighting games always impressed me. Do you have anything against Judo? I would make a Judoka, but I want something more than just throwing.

Never mind.

Do you have anything against Judo? I would make a Judoka, but I want something more than just throwing. The same goes with Samba or Caopeira.

Judo would be tricky, as grappling/throws rely on both people agreeing on something to make it work... otherwise it becomes godmodding/puppeting. Samba is a dance, so I assume you mean Sambo. Capoeira is fine, as long as it is explained how the character came to learn it.

Thank my autocorrect errors for making the mess up possible. I don't feel like doing extra work to make something take effect. As I have writing anxiety (hence why I backed out the first time), I am gonna come back to look at this again.

Um... not trying to sound mean, but if you don't take a few seconds to fix autocorrect's mistakes... then your writing as a whole will suffer as a result. In OOC it's fine, but a bunch of autocorrect foul-ups could really make a post look bad in an IC thread.

Kensley Hagebak vs. Miranda Walsh
Brett Elspeth vs. Kyami Xiang Yi
Ryuko Kazuhira vs. Isabella Bergmann
Troy F. Duncan vs. Thabisa Greyling
Kacy Hart vs. Junkiro Iwazuma
Ethan Walker vs. Francesca MacGregor
Cyst Voltromvskey vs. Matt Elspeth
Aine McHavish vs. Vincento Sarconni

I will decide who wins any NPC vs. NPC fights, but players are welcome to weigh in on who should win them. Player vs NPC is decided by the player who is fighting of course. Player versus Player bouts are to be decided either by the two participants... or decided by a public roll of the dice here in the OOC. You mean Matt? No. Matt was found to be the main instigator when they jumped Vincento, so he is still in Detention Hall. So no worries there.

Unfortunately, character acceptance is closed. The RP is currently in its end-stages and adding new players right in the middle of a tournament would simply not work. My apologies.

Hey there everyone! So Beta and I were talking before he closed off character acceptances, and so here I am - ready to join Fight School!

The deity that is known as Beta - take a look at my CS and let me know if anything needs to be addressed.

Name: Ethan Walker

I.D. Number: 65572198

Rank: C2

Year: 1st Year

Age: 16

Nationality: American

Appearance:
http://i.imgur.com/XZ65Mfb.png

Ethan stands at the height of 5'11'' and weighs about 175 lbs. He has a muscular built, a chiseled face, messy blonde hair, and light-blue eyes. He doesn't have any blemishes or scars, but that would soon probably change for Fight School.

Fighting Style: Mixed Martial Arts - His personal preference is a combination of Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jie Jitsu, and Sanshou. (No official ranking - 3 years of experience)

Powers:

Speed Alteration: Like many of his fellow peers in Fight School, Ethan is able to tap into his inner-spiritual energy to augment his fighting style in combat. He can increase his physical speed and reaction from 2 to 4 fold. However, the effect of the ability lasts for less than three seconds. Due to the incredibly short length of the ability, he primarily uses it for strikes in combat. Not only that, but each attempt puts strain on his physical body - especially on the limb that he utilizes for strikes. Each added level of speed also exponentially increases the strain his body endures. He usually refrains from frequently using it in a single bout, along with using the higher tiers of his ability.

Personality:

Ethan is not considered the kindest person by many people. He is very arrogant and carries around a haughty attitude. He is confident in himself and his own abilities, and will not shy away from a fight. In social groups, he's noticeably an easygoing person to talk to... if you're in his social group. He's also the type to crave for excitement and willing to put him forth in new situations. He's not a quick-tempered person, but there may be a few touchy subjects that actually just might piss him off.

Otherwise, Ethan can be quick to insult and taunt others, especially during fights. There are even hints of prejudice behind his tone, including towards females and para-humans. He looks down upon many people, and takes great pride in his own strength. He even views his own fighting style, Mixed Martial Arts, as the most superior style because it offers the best of all worlds. Anything else is simply inferior. Overall, Ethan seems like the typical high-school bully.

One more aspect about him - Ethan always strives for excellence. Which means, he's the type to constantly train and better himself as a fighter - pushing himself further than his own limits. He is not the complacent type whatsoever.

Background:

Ethan proclaims that he came from rather uninspiring beginnings. His father was a mailman, and his mother was a cook in the local high-school cafeteria. Ethan's own childhood was rather menial - attended elementary school and nothing really significant happened. He made a few friends, did well with classes, tried to play a couple of sports but grew bored of stuff like soccer and basketball.

However, something simple yet important occurred in Ethan's life. He watched a film with his family, called Warrior (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warrior_(2011_film))- and it inspired him to pursue Mixed Martial Arts. Watching all of the action, all of the adrenaline rushes, all of the intensity of the fights - it lead Ethan to a local MMA gym that taught classes for kids. By the time he finished elementary school, he began his first classes.

He continued with his classes throughout his middle-school years, and absolutely loved Mixed Martial Arts and it became a strong passion of his. It offered strength and practicality, leaving no room for weaknesses such as boxing (which lacked effective counters for leg kicks) or muay thai (which the static stance leaves one vulnerable against take-downs).

He discovered his secret talent of speed alteration not through a traumatic event or anything of that sort - but simply through pure hard-work. He kept training and training, pushing himself to near exhaustion. He even began some hard-core weightlifting sessions as a teen to build up strong muscles as a MMA fighter. Finally, during one training session with a punching bag, Ethan pulled an extremely fast punch on practically sent the punching bag flying back. His body nearly collapsed at that point, but he then noticed a pattern to his training - a few certain strikes, faster than normal, increased the power of his blows and nearly put his body into an exhaustive state.

When he recovered, Ethan remembered the movement, remembered the energy moving inside of him, and then put a crazy theory to a test. He increased his movement by 3 fold for a few seconds, and again - he nearly collapsed. Yet, it proved that he was special... he was special! This is what he has been yearning for - something he wanted in his highly unremarkable life.

He pulled this move a couple of times during a few practice tournaments, and caught the eyes of a few certain individuals. During this time, his middle-school days were nearly over and he was about to transfer into high school. These individuals approached him, and made a deal of a lifetime... one that he simply could not refuse.

Ethan received a small scholarship to attend Fight School. It didn't pay for all of his expenses, but his highly supportive parents helped out. He was even offered a part-time job for the school as a Public Safety cadet.

Now, in his first year - Ethan is truly interacting with his fellow peers, but many of them he doesn't fully understand. He views many of them complacent, weak - and it didn't help arrogant attitude when he was recruited into the like-minded individuals of Imperius Gloria.

Already, he was controversially removed from the Public Safety cadet program. Ethan had the habit of angering fellow peers with his poor attitude, and even had some poor work ethics, and this simply would not do for the high standards of the campus's public safety program. After the removal, Ethan believes that he is watched more by the faculty members of the school.

Initially, the entire event was very humiliating and Ethan was very critical himself over the matter. It was scary as well, because they threatened to pull his scholarship. In the end, they decided not to - simply because Ethan did not break any significant rules... yet. At this point, Ethan has basically shrugged off the event and has actually made it a positive. He now spends his free time with even more training and challenging others to combat - honing his skills significantly. Now, he is ready to prove himself to everyone else in the upcoming tournament. He is ready to show how great he is.

Looks good overall, Kayne. Power is a bit potent, but I trust you not to abuse it. I'll have you replacing Kairi in the tournament.

RisingPhoenix. Kiro Akira. Cfavano. TheDoctor.

If fights are not posted by next Monday night, 11:59PM Eastern Time, I will simply declare the winners and said winners will post their own versions of the fight. If the winner is an NPC, I will simply advance things along.

Y'all assholes need to check in here once in a while and post memes or something. Staff recycles threads after they are inactive for a while.

My house was burglarized while I was sleeping, and they took everything... my laptop, my Xbox, my televisions, even my ten year old Nintendo DS. So... yeah. There may be delays with my posts. Frankly, I may end up admitting myself to a hospital. Having severe panic attacks and freaking out. They were in my room while I was asleep.

Appearance:
7107

Name: Albert Bosko

Occupation: Woodshop Teacher, Certified Basic Armed Combat Instructor

Nationality: Polish

Age: 34

Sex/Gender: Male

Fighting Style: Aikido (3rd Dan), Weapon Master (Polearms, Longswords, Knives, Tonfa, Batons, Sectioned Staves)

Powers: None

Personality: Albert rolls with every punch he takes, never taking anything too seriously and never letting himself get too involved with things he deems "too much of a downer". He is overly confident, overly excitable, and very much so overly happy. Everything is nice, wonderful, and can never go wrong. He's not interested in being the big guy, nor is he interested in being a hero. He is happy being the middle man to anything on the up and up with the law. He absolutely hates lawbreakers and delinquents, not afraid to deal with then either through the security team or himself. He does what he can to help who he can, though tends to downplay his actions in favor of boasting about his skill.

Background: Albert has never once been without something in his hand to hit people with. When he was a baby, it was spoons. In school, it was an assortment of pipes and baseball bats. By the time he reached High School age, his parents followed the advice of one of New Peaks recruiters and decided that, if he wanted to hit people, he could do it far away from them. As it turns out, this was exactly what Albert needed to shape up, a little.

During the course of his training he mastered all sorts of ways to hit people and all sorts of new things to hit people with, eventually favoring the polearm as his weapon of choice. After being one of the few students to reach the rank of S2, he left New Peaks for a few years in his pursuit of the true right to call himself Weapon Master. His training took him to Japan, Tibet, America, England, Africa, and most of the rest of the world before finally returning to his homeland of Poland to test his skills against one of the local weapon masters.

After completing his training he received an offer from New Peaks. They were short on teachers that specialized in armed combat and needed someone to fill the position. While hesitant at first, he thought back to all the trouble he gave the staff while he was there. All the unsanctioned fights, injuries, and trash talking that made him one of the least desirable fighters in the whole school. He decided that there would be no better man to reform delinquents than a reformed delinquent like him and took up the job. He now lives on campus, awaiting the next year so that he can start up his career as an educator at New Peaks.

As I don't have a computer, I can't easily add that NPC/Teacher to the roster. However, he is approved.

Also, I posted in the IC and moved the tournament forward.

Name: Marco Yowman

I.D. Number: 43297682

Rank: B2

Year: 3rd

Nationality: Native American, Canadian

Age: 16

Sex/Gender: Male

Appearance:
7135

Fighting Style: Okitchitaw

Powers: Ghostly Form - Is Marco channels his Ki to the outer layers of his skin, and then releases it, it comes off of him in what looks like a second layer of skin turning into mist. This makes it look like he's doing something for a fraction of a second longer than he actually is, letting him fake foes out much easier than normal. Some might say it's entirely useless in combat, but anyone who's fallen for one of his faints because of this ability will tell you that it can be devastating.

Personality: Nobody can ever accuse Marco of being a boring guy. He's loud, proud, and absolutely loves a good honest fight. He prides himself in having never cheated in a fight, and absolutely despises "dirty' fighting. If anyone uses even a single "dirty" technique on him, they are instantly on his shit list. He treats friends more like family than he does his family and has a fascination with birds, interestingly enough.

Background: Marco wasn't rich, but he was never exactly poor, either. He lived on a reservation in Canada that was underfunded, but stable. His parents had decently paying jobs and knew almost instantly that their little boy would grow up to be a warrior. Since the only real things to do were either work, fight, or steal, Marco decided to follow his parents expectations to the letter. He joined the Cree School of Okichitaw when he was just five years old, and trained there whenever he wasn't working a part-time job, eating, sleeping, or using his teachings to fend off the more rowdy of his kin.

His parents saved money for nine years so that, when their little warrior reached high school, they could send him out to New Peaks. Despite all the emergencies that came up, the cars crashed, the house fires caused, and all the hospital bills, that money was never once touched except to add more. Eventually, they were able to pay his entire High School career off up front and sent Marco to Fight School with a smile on his face and tape on his fists.

He fit in almost instantly. He placed third in his Freshman summer tournament and second in the Sophomore holiday tournament, earning him the respect of his peers. He was probably the favorite to win the Freshmen Summers, but the victory was taken from him by Amaltheia Stravos, another practitioner of an obscure martial art and soon after his greatest rival. He considers beating her to be his measure of success. Most people think it's kind of weird how into her he gets, sometimes, and many think they might be secretly dating on the side. It's not true, but Marco has never once denied it.

Message to ALL currently-approved players. The RP is wrapping up soon and anyone who has not made a post in the last four weeks will be considered to have dropped out of the RP when it is moved to the Hall of Fame.

If you want your Master Gamer medals, I suggest you make a post in the IC thread.

Your character may have been eliminated from the tournament, but there is an entire campus worth of stuff to do. There is no excuse to not remain active.

Also I didn't think we'd be waiting three whole weeks for one single co-post. RisingPhoenix. RedKayne. Come on, you two. Please?
