Sometimes, being an angel was one of the best things in the world. The wings and halo would always look prestigious, no matter the occasion, and having the ability to fly was second to none. Helping people out wasn't so bad either, especially not when Adainmelhye, the Almighty Himself, took note. Heaven was as beautiful as it was rumored, with its cloudy pillars and golden walls, and the great Yggdrasil tree in the center of it all.

Then again, being an angel became incredibly boring incredibly quickly. Each angel went through intense schooling at the academy. It was where angels learned all they needed to know about the world below. There was an immense library of knowledge at the academy, and most angels graduated only after long years of study. Some angels were known to graduate in only a century, others took as long as one hundred and eighty years. Each angel was different, but none had been as bad as Ptarsameal.

He had been labeled a problem angel early on. In his academy days, he had found more joy in rebelling than truly paying attention, and his marks suffered for it. He'd been in school for two whole centuries. "Some angels just take time," Adainmelhye had insisted. "He's a lost cause," most of his peers remarked. Either way, Ptarsameal wasn't too thrilled about his extended semesters, and he certainly wasn't excited to be spending more time with Ursupala.

The head of the academy was just as scary and bear-like as her name suggested. She had been the best teacher Heaven had ever seen, though it had only seen one. Ursupala was revered by most, but she and Ptarsameal had never seen eye-to-eye. The elder angel was strict, and she hated the rebellious angel's antics. She must have cheered when he was finally released from the academy, though Ptarsameal would never be able to forget the look of disappointment in her eyes.

Looking back, it was no wonder he had been thrown out of Heaven. He had never succeeded there, and he was a fool to think he ever would. But then, what was wrong with him? What had set him apart from everyone else? It remained a mystery even now.

Ptarsameal looked around at his unfamiliar surroundings. He had been thrown out of Heaven hours ago, and still had not strayed far from where he'd fallen. He still couldn't believe it. He was the first angel to fall from grace since the devil himself. Murder, after all, was one of the hardest sins to forgive.

He was on earth now, a place he had been to plenty of times. Down here, he went by Sam, and some of the children knew him well. When he had been to earth for his guardian angel duties, he'd instead taken to playing with the kids. His wings and halo had been hidden, then, but now he hardly needed Adainmelhye's magic. Now, he had no wings or halo to speak of, and the thought was heartbreaking.

But it wouldn't be this way forever. He would earn his wings back, and he would make his way back to Heaven. He'd show them all just what he was capable of, and he had a plan. This time, Ptarsameal did not intend to fail.

“This is all boring information” she snapped at the male below her padded chair. Shifting her weight and leaning forward “I’m going to need more reason than that to waste my talents on humans; the upstairs contains nothing more the bumbling buffoons who will serve me no purpose.” The lower male lowered his eyes and sighed wandering out into the hallway where three others waited. Two older her mentors one a lush female with bright red hair, the other a scrawny old man with large glasses and a predatory grin “Any luck?” the man spoke in a soft hermit kind of voice. It was clear he had no friends for he seemed to distance himself from all. “None, Mistress seems to have lost her fire. She doesn’t want deals or anything else but to sit in her chair and growl. I can’t seem to get her to rise to the surface, nothing catches her attention.” The women glared and huffed barging into the room finding her Mistress from the chair gone. Huffing she crossed her arms and growled under her breath.

“Shhhh..” she leaned over the little child warning her against a scream, for a stranger had just appeared from behind her. A sleek curtain of black hair fell to the side of her and kept the woman’s face hidden “I see those boys have something of yours.” The little girl nodded meekly and a smile split her plush rose colored lips “Keep your eyes open doll. Enjoy the show.” Closing her eyes she spoke in tongues under her breath and the ragged old bear the boys had taken began she growl turning with red eyes and claws to fight off what he had been told where attackers.

Laughter echoed from her chest as one boy pushed the other down for bait and the bear climbed on the child growling, but she had already got her laugh moving her hand to her lips she inhaled as if taking a breath of fresh air but instead the life seemed to be sucked out of the bear. The boy then proceeded to get up and run a puddle left where he was, making laughter split from her once more. She had grown so bored with her droll life as a demon Mistress. It was all torture this and goes do this, so and so wants to make a deal, but why should she waste time taking things she will already one day have.

The little girl looked up in fragile blue eyes “Is he ok?” This cause the women to tilt her head slightly a curious glint shifting through her ruby colored eyes “He is all yours child.” The little girl ran to her bear scooping him up and hugging him looking back to the strange lady “Who are you?” this made her straighten up, she was clad in black from her raven hair, to the black tee shirt hugging her curves and the dip of her waist exposing a small sliver a pale white flesh before expanding at her hips clad in a black stretch pant material it was painted to her legs fallowing the curves until it dipped into the black leather of her boots. Her eyes as red as her lips in a flash of a white smile “Call me Luck. We will meet again doll.”

With that the strange women began to walk away from the girl having picked her fun and deciding to indulge in some human fun. After all what trouble couldn’t she cause?

Well, there was no going back now. For better or worse, Sam was stuck on earth for the time being, until he could manage to find someone to help him return to his home. He rubbed at his eyes, taking in the vibrant greens and blues around him. The sun was so bright, and he wanted nothing more than to get out of its rays. He was very hot in his dark brown tunic and bright yellow stockings, and he probably looked like a freak. He'd need to find new threads soon if he wanted to fit in with the humans, but he hadn't a penny to his name.

He didn't even know where he was. Maybe, if he had paid attention in his geography classes, he'd be able to tell at least what country he was in. It was too bright to be England, too warm to be Greenland, not warm enough to be Brazil. That could have been anywhere. Sam wandered around, and he stumbled upon a few crowds of people. They were speaking English; was he in America? Canada? Australia? The people looked like normal people; how was he to know? Further wandering led him nowhere, though he did realize people were very quick to judge. He really needed to change his outfit, now.

As he was walking, he noticed a woman. She had a dark air about her, something off. Was she...? Sam straightened. She was a demon, wasn't she? What was she doing here? He tried not to stare, but it was hard. She was a demon, after all. They were fated to be enemies. But then... Sam realized she wouldn't be able to tell what he was. He wasn't an angel anymore, after all. He would just appear to be a normal human to him. He looked back to her, and an idea came to mind. He raised an eyebrow, then nodded. What did he have to lose?

Sam walked over to her. There was a confidence in his step, even if he did look like a Halloween costume gone wrong. His hair, as always, was in a curly, tangled mess atop his head. He had some muscles, but still had a lanky quality to him. His brown eyes watched her with a determination he would not be able to fake. "Hey!" he called to her, assuming English was the language to try first. "I, uh, I'm a little lost. Can you help me out?"

She heard a faint voice, causing her to cast a glance over her shoulder, one of her eyebrows rising as she assessed the males attire. Clearly out of place turning slightly she flashes a vibrant smile “I’d say your lost darling. Seems to me the psych ward is a couple miles down the road.” Placing one hand on her hip she tilted her head slightly something different about this one “Or perhaps that’s not the help you’re looking for.”

She could almost sniff out a deal, and this man reeked of potential. Y et she wasn’t sure she wanted back in that game, after her last bout of news she had shut all the deals on her end off causing quite a few riots and even a few human deaths, but what better way than to show her displeasure? Sighing she removes her hand from her hip and crosses her arms her ruby eyes assessing this male.

It had better be a great thing he needed from her, even if it wasn’t it might be a great way to have some fun with a new toy. Either way it had to have something in it for her, after all no demon was free or charge.

He grimaced at her joke. He was not crazy, and he didn't take well to being called so. But he was not allowed to react. Sam instead held his breath for a moment, and he looked over the stranger before him. She looked like a demon alright: she had that apathetic air about her, and she just radiated evil. She would be perfect for his plan, then. He would just need to figure out how to coordinate it all.

"Actually, I don't need to go to a psych ward. I'm new around here, and I was just wondering if you could direct me somewhere I could go? Maybe out to eat? I figured a lady like yourself would be willing to go with me, no?" What was he doing? Sam looked at her with questioning eyes. He didn't know exactly where he was going with any of this. Perhaps he should just cut to the chase. He shifted awkwardly, then sighed. Might as well.

"I know what you are." He lowered his voice so that no one else would hear. "A demon, no? You don't try to hide it, do you? Never mind, that's not why I called out to you." Sam looked her over again, as if to scrutinize again. "Let's see... You guys are supposed to be really good at manipulation, right? Well what if I told you I had a job for you? How would you feel about casting revenge on an entire nation?"

She watched him carefully picking apart his every emotion and plotting carefully in the event she needed to subdue him or just in case she wanted to leave. Her facial expression showed boredom as he stammer on and then he asked her if she wanted to eat with him and she couldn’t help the spout of laughter that escaped her lips. First thing he would need to change before he took her anywhere, second she wondered how he should look and if he had money to actually feed a girl like herself. She doubted the last part, yet he then began peaking lowly ending her train of thought.

“I know what you are” he said to her and she froze a glare forming as a shadow of rage crossed the vast sea of red in her eyes. His deal didn’t quite catch her attention many men lusted for revenge. However that he picked her out of a crowd rubbed her completely wrong. No she didn’t hide who she was but he had no right to call her out in such a way.

It was a flash of darkness that casted from the ground wrapping around them and moving them, as she thick fog vanished they were on a roof him next to the edge her standing to his nose, violence glaring in her eyes “It is not polite to call a lady out on her race. What are you? And what are you babbling on about?” she might as well hear him out as she debated knocking him from the roof tops. A loon who simply gave up no one would ask questions and he would never be around to point her out in a crowd.

“My name is Deiliha. Next bride of the devil himself, I boy have started wars with many a nation and grown bored with it. So your deal had better be something I haven’t heard before.”

She left out many thought in her rebel mind, the fact she hated that she had been chosen and that was simply one reason she refused to do anymore deals now a days. She didn’t want to marry the devil and become a mare for demons, in fact she wasn’t sure what she wanted but it wasn’t that. Sighing slightly she steps back allowing him away from the edge as she forces her mind to leave the thoughts they began to linger on. Maybe he would be her way out….

Sam did not flinch as they seemingly teleported away from their location. It was just her wacky demon magic, and though he had never experienced it firsthand, he knew enough about it to not be afraid. Angels had similar magics, of course, though they were magics he now could not partake in. He sighed. Soon, he reminded himself. He'd have it all back soon enough.

Her choice of location was questionable. Being an angel, Sam had never feared heights. He'd been able to fly, after all. But now, his wings were gone, and if he was pushed he'd have no way to save himself. It was an alarming thought. He shook it from his mind. Just why was she so angry? Was it wrong to call a demon out? He would not have minded being called out as an angel, just confused. But the rage in her eyes, he did not understand it. Just what was he getting himself into?

Sam cleared his throat. "I'm just a man, now, I suppose," he replied. "I'm Sam, and I might just have a knack for these things." So did every other angel, but that was beside the point. This was the bride-to-be of Lucifer himself? Maybe he was making a mistake. "My request is unique, I think you'll find. I'd like to take revenge against Heaven, and every angel in the realm."

She had turned her back to him when he spoke his true plot, the thought made her stop in her tracks her head cocking slightly to the side. It was indeed very interesting, straightening up she turned on her heel and moved back in his general direction “Why do you want revenge? And why should I want to help you achieve such a goal.”

She needed to ask questions to get a clear picture he was clearly not a normal human male and as much as she hated to admit he set her alarms off in her head something about him also screamed out for help. The sad part was what was left of her humanity wished to help him, but as quickly as the thought surfaced she squashed it back. No one needed to know she had found her humanity when many demons sought nothing more than to destroy that bit about themselves.

A soft sigh slid from her lips as her next question bubble up “one more thing. How do I know you’re not crazy? And that this isn’t some wacked out scheme from a phycos mind.” Placing a hand on her hips she waited for a response. She wasn’t even sure what she wanted him to say but she had a feeling no matter what he wasn’t going to say nearly what she wanted him to. Closing her eyes she waited to listen.

It had always been easier to pick out lies with her eyes closed she could only assume it was a senses thing with her eyes closed her other senses where forced to sharpen and take over for the lack of sight.

She was considering him. Sam could tell that much, though he didn't know what, exactly, this Deiliha was thinking about. Would he be able to pull this off after all? Would this be the demon to help him? He was silent as she processed his request. He had expected questions, obviously, but Sam had to wonder just how much information was safe to give out. He wanted this woman to know as little about him as possible. Hell, she wouldn't even know his true intentions, not until it was much later.

Sam cleared his throat. She was right, he wasn't just a human after all. At least, he hadn't always been. "My true calling is Ptarsameal," he said. "It is the name of an angel, though now I no longer hold such a title. I was excommunicated, the very first since Lucifer himself. It is incredibly humiliating, as one might think, and very unfair. As you might guess, I'm a bit... peeved at it all, to put it nicely. And I was just thinking, well, how nice it would be to make them all pay for what they put me through. Throwing me out of the only home I've ever known, and for what? Because I killed some ungrateful kid? Oh, they'll pay. I'll be ending a lot more than one worthless child's life."

It hurt him to utter such things. Sam had to exaggerate where he could, but he was eerily good at lying, for an angel. His story outwardly looked believable, perhaps because it was mostly the truth. He had killed someone, and he was humiliated. That's all Deiliha had to know for now. Perhaps later she would learn more, but for now, he would play that as well as he could to get her on his side.

Her next question made him chuckle. "You think I'm crazy, do you?" he asked. "Well, I am flattered. How shall I prove to you that I am the real thing?" He paused, then thought of something. Suddenly, Sam began to speak in rushed syllables. He was speaking Latin, a dead language, a language each angel knew well. He smirked, then spoke again in English. "I used to serve Adainmelhye, and trained under Ursupala. Would a mortal know something like that?" He shrugged his shoulders lazily. "Call my a psycho all you want. I'm the real deal. And I want revenge on those bastards. You could help me, and potentially crush the angel force. Do remember, I know all their secrets. That would be really helpful for your husband, don't you think?"

Her eyes snapped open and a glare seemed to settle there “first off. He is not my husband! Not every demon is an ass kisser and will do as we are told. We are rebellious that’s why we could never be angels, we are too opinionated and you guys want robots fresh off the convarebelts. If you where cast out consider yourself lucky you can actually be someone you want to be and not whom your told to be.” Sighing she tries to simmer down the massive wave of emotions she felt, it was always one of her flaws she was very emotional when she needed to refine it to control.

Speaking this time her eyes now emotionless “However a fallen angel makes for an interesting plot, also I could gain points for breaking down the walls between us and heaven. Which may after all benefit me as well.” Moving her hand to her chin she began to think. If she succeeded and broke down the thin wall separating them she may gain enough brownie points to take over her own part of hell. Meaning she wouldn’t have to marry herself off to the king. A sly grin split her face as she looked to the fallen angel, looking him over and really seeing him for the first time.

“Hope killing doesn’t haunt your dreams; the blood bath hasn’t even started yet.” She was right about that if she broke down the wall it would be nothing but war, and murder. Then again that was really all revenge was, one person claiming to be doing right whilst another fought for nothing more than there life.

She had seen him as crazy however he picked her out of a crowd and that made him something more and a fallen angel about covered everything. Sighing she turns and begins walking to the door on the roof. The click of her boots echoing around them as the music of the city added to the beat “Come on. If I’m going to be seen with you, you need to at least look like someone I would walk around with or else it will raise suspicion and I won’t be able to save you.” She wondered if he knew, chances are he didn’t considering he was so quick to trust her with his secret. Sighing she made it to the door her hand on the knob as she turned her eyes meeting his “Do us both a favor. Don’t tell anyone you’re a fallen, come up with a different story if you’re asked.”

This woman certainly was easy to piss off. Sam took a step back as she went on. He was as good as her husband, wasn't he? Regardless, she did seem to simmer down at least a bit. She made some valid points, too. As an angel, he'd always felt hindered by his superiors. He'd never had a chance to be his own unique person, and he often suffered as a result of trying. But that didn't matter. Heaven was his home, Adainmelhye was his god, and he was not going to forsake them.

But she was still considering him. Sam smiled. He knew she was practically hooked. All her rambling meant nothing to him. He didn't care what she would get as a result of this. In the end, she wouldn't get a damn thing, but she needed her to believe she would. As long as she remained naive, he'd have the world at his fingertips. From there, it would be easy to get back into Heaven, especially after saving the entire realm.

He turned back to her and arched an eyebrow when she spoke of murder. Would he have to kill anyone...? Sam hadn't considered that. It was a silly oversight, but what if he had to take more lives? He did not want to do that, but how else would he get the demon race to trust in him? What if his former family killed him? He turned away, but did well to mask his emotions. This would be harder than he thought. No matter, he decided. He would be able to get through it all. And in the end, he would be the hero everyone never believed he could be.

She started walking away, and for a split second Sam thought maybe he had blown it all. But then, she spoke to him, and the grin grew wider on his face. He'd succeeded, but he knew this was only the first step. They had a long way to go still, and plenty of things in his future would be harder than convincing a demon of his fake intentions, but he was ready. He nodded slightly and followed after her. "I had little intention of telling anyone," he assured her. "Your concern is flattering, though. Ah, seeing how I've only recently been thrown from the heavens, I haven't any other clothes. If you would perhaps like to assist in that...?"

She smirked and chuckled softly “well come on then. I see what I can do.” With that she turned into the door she had earlier opened and began going down a set of dark stairs. At the bottom seemed to be a lightly lit door with fogged glass keeping the contents hidden from whom ever was descending the stairs above. She wondered if angels had heightened senses or anything like she or the beasts of earth had. She honestly could ask him many questions and part of her thought about it, yet something in her felt off about him but she left it alone for right now was not the time to be drilling him on everything she could imagine.

As she got the door she paused her hand on the silver handle “just so we are clear. If anyone asks what I’m getting out of this. I’m getting a holy weapon and right to twenty four angelic souls.” She needed a big pay out for this to be convincing for no other demon would risk so much to tear a hole in the veil of angels and demons.

Opening the door they entered into a studio apartment it was decorated in simple yet modern black and silvers as the door opened up into the back part of the living room. A huge TV hung on the wall as a vase of flowers littered the coffee table along with a few random papers and such. To the back let corner the kitchen laid with black counter tops and silver appliances. Over by the kitchen was a small hallway ending in a black closed door. She seemed to move around the space like she owned it and if to prove it she grinned “welcome home trouble. Since we are partners now, you can stay on the couch that pulls out into a bed, of perhaps…” a wicked grin split her face as she glanced toward the black door “You could bunk with me.”

Walking towards the door she waves him to fallow “I have some clothes that may fit you, come this way” opening the door was an entirely different realm from the modern dark setting of the outside. Her room wasn’t the cleanest room ever, clothes littered the floor and make up littered her black dresser. Her room was done in bright green and black hues to enhance the color she had grown fond of over the years. When you lived a dark life you needed some color, in the corner was a art easel with crumpled up papers scatter around it a old looking chair with book shelves on either side occupied the space of the other corner. Moving to a set of black doors she opened it and grinned pointing to a small wooden chest in the back right of her closet “I have men’s clothes in there. You never know when you’ll need to dress male company”

Sam didn't want to question what was going through her mind. She was an odd one, definitely, and her request made him smile. She wanted holy weapons and angelic souls? Who did she think he was? Sam shrugged his shoulders, then thought better of it and seemed to consider. Whether or not she did what he asked, he hadn't the authority to offer what she was asking. Still, she didn't need to know that. Sam nodded softly, his face much more convincing than before. "I think we have a deal."

They were leaving. Sam followed her again, wondering just where they were going now. He did note all the black around him, as if he were trying to navigate in the dark. Were all demons obsessed with the dark and dull colors? He was cautious as he stepped, sure not to step on or into anything. It was a living space, he assumed, and it must have been hers. He tried to commit it to memory. She seemed well-off, at least, which would benefit them both. Additionally, she wasn't the cleanest lass around, which was more than fine by him. Sam himself had never liked the pristine or the polished, an odd trait for an angel to have. As they continued on, he judged her thoroughly, wondering just where this would take him.

He didn't know why this woman had men's clothing, and he wasn't sure he wanted to know, either. He wasn't about to question it, though. If she had clothes for him, he'd take them, only after thoroughly checking them. But it would be a lot easier than buying new cloths with money he did not have. He walked over to the chest she had opened for him and looked over all the clothes she had. They were all so drab to him. As an angel, he was used to bright colors, pure whites and regal golds. All this black was awfully depressing. Still, he couldn't turn down a gift. So Sam chose a shirt and pair of trousers, and he held them up to his body. "I think these would fit," he mumbled to himself. Then, looking up to Deiliha, he asked, "What about you? Are these befitting your tastes as well?" He was trying to get her own opinion, since he didn't know much about mortal fashion, but he was also trying to include her in this plan, to form a bond he would later be forced to break.

He held up a black on black ensemble and she laughed as he asked if it was to her taste “not entirely fitting for you. Here let me help.” Before he could protest she moved to the chest her should brushing against him as she passed and leaned over the chest digging through the clothes “Damn, I forgot what all was in here. Hold on.” Pulling out a pair of black boxers and a pair of dark wash jeans she tossed them at him before standing and blinking for a second forgetting she was in close range with him.

Looking up she took a deep breath realizing he was in fact bigger then her before quickly dismissing the idea and moving to the other side of the closet where she opened the top drawer the mumbling “don’t be looking at my underwear.” As she dug through the drawer she pulled out a solid white tee shirt and held it up to herself, it hung down far enough it would cover her ass as long as she didn’t bend over of reach up to high nodding she moved back towards him offering him the shirt “I think you’ll look better in a white shirt then a drab black one. Plus I wear enough darkness for the both of us.” She offered him a smile and winked before walking out of the closet.

As she got to the door “there is a bathroom it the door on the left as you walk out of my room. You can change in there. You’ll be sleeping in the living room, and if you see Demon don’t worry about him. He is a gift from my mentor. He may bite considering he doesn’t like strangers but he will adjust.” Walking out of her room she moves herself to the kitchen she hadn’t thought to tell him demon was a cat well sort of. To him it would look like a cat and that was all that mattered for now.

She opened the fridge pulling out a bottle of water for her and him sitting one of the counter wondering if he was squishy like a human male or if being an angel would add a harder effect. When demons where brought to the underworld they were taught angels where fighters and would kill with no mercy so part of her wondered if she should really be trusting this angel fallen or not.

Sam didn't protest. He watched her advance towards him, then stepped out of the way as she began to look at her collection of clothing she'd probably never worn. While she was looking, he took the opportunity to study the room again, and to watch her. She was too focused to notice him, so he memorized her face, her curves, the gleam in her eye. When she looked up, he didn't dare look away. Was she... moving away from him? It was almost too subtle to tell, but Sam had caught it. He looked over himself, then looked back to her. No. Was... a demon scared of him? It was an amusing thought, one he would enjoy telling his classmates.

Except now, he wasn't enrolled in the academy. Now, he wasn't allowed back in the clouds. Sam had forgotten about that. All the other disculpi would graduate without him. Would they even remember him? The trouble-making class clown? The consistent failure? They had probably already filled his seat. Sam looked away, until Deiliha had chosen clothes for him.

He didn't trust the boxers. Why would she have men's boxers? He looked them over, but they seemed clean, new even. So he sighed and slipped out of his leggings, threw them on. It did not occur to him that there was a demon in the room, nor that she might be uncomfortable to see the naked form of a man in her home. After the boxers, he pulled on the jeans, and looked up in time to see Deiliha throwing a shirt to him. He pulled off his tunic and replaced it with the shirt. The demon then told him about the bathroom, to which he mentally slapped his forehead. "Thanks anyway."

Sam didn't care much for where he was sleeping, and he didn't care about Demon, whatever it was. He assumed it was a pet of sorts, but what type of pet could a demon have? He thought a bat fitting, or a spider, even a snake. He just waved her off. "I'm sure he'll grow to love me." He bowed his thanks when she brought back a water bottle for him, then popped the cap open and took a long swig. "While we are on the subject of pampering me, might you have any socks and trainers? A cucumber bath as well?" He was kidding, and it was obvious from his smirk, but he could have gone for a pair of shoes.

She had gotten the water to cool the thoughts flashing through her mind as he changed in front of her and for a second she cursed the fact she was still a women and demons knew what lust felt like. Rolling her eyes as he spoke of demon growing to love him, as her mind wondered if he knew anything of hell cats and hell hounds?

Her pet was a hell cat bred to stalk and take down angels but she knew the cat was raised as a regular black cat and if the beast liked him it would be defective. She always preferred cats over dogs and it was the same with hounds and cats nw. hers was a gift said to be from the devil himself to win her favor but she wouldn’t accept it that way so she called him a gift from her teacher.

As he joked a chuckle escaped her “I’m sorry love. That’s pampering above your pay grade, also congratulations I didn’t think angels had a sense of humor.” She left out the part that the last angel she saw was being tortured and he just seemed all too serious. Shaking the thought she sighed as he mentioned shoes. “I sadly don’t think I have shoes... this world is filled with dark things and demons tend to change forms and that can ruin clothes. So it helps to always be prepared you never know who will drop on your door step naked. I think my last pair went with Simon.”

Running her hand through her raven locks she huffs “I suppose a trip to the store is in order. Since walking around barefoot will draw attention. Come on.” She moved out of the closet and then started for the door of her bed room a question popping out of her mouth “Is it true angels don’t know how to breed? That you guys are just kinda poof and your there?”

He had gotten a chuckle out of her. That alone was an achievement. He laughed with her, then shook his head. "Not-uh, not an angel anymore." Though he couldn't help but admit there was a sense of truth to her words. All of the angels he had known, they had feared his humor. Some of them had been funny, at times, but most of the angels of authority had been mean old sticks in the mud. So why had he been so different? And why did a demon get his humor? He stopped laughing, straightened. It didn't matter, he told himself. He'd complete his task, and he would never hear from her or any other demon again.

Sam was surprised this demon did not have shoes. He glanced back towards her closet and raised a brow. All these clothes, and no shoes? He turned back to her and shrugged. "Oh, yeah, Simon," he said sarcastically. "He and I go way back. Great guy." He had no idea who Simon was, or why she had gifted him shoes, but he didn't care much, either. They were going to a store, apparently. Sam nodded slowly, then followed her towards the door of the bedroom. A shopping spree, and all expenses paid? It was almost too good to be true. All this stuff was happening so fast. Maybe he would succeed after all.

Her question caught him off guard, and he chuckled. "We--that is, they--don't do any poofing. Angels don't need to breed. If there is a need for one of us, Adainmelhye simply creates one, and he fosters that cherub until it is prepped for academy training. There, it learns all there is to know about human history and culture. That way, once we graduate, we can become guardian angels of specific areas. Me, I had this little place going. Small town, not a lot of people, no electricity or any fancy things like that. I sure loved it there, and I wanted to become the town's guardian angel, but uh." His voice faded. He had really loved that town, until he'd been violently stripped from it.

Sam shook his head, and with it, his thoughts. "Never mind that," he muttered. "It's not that we don't know how to breed. We did study human anatomy and reproduction. We can't be much different, right?" He looked down as color slowly made its way to his cheeks. He hadn't been able to shed the we in his sentences, but the realization that he was a man was still very present. He could, potentially, breed now. Was that a good thing? Sam shrugged his shoulders. "Well, I guess that's something to be tested, but why don't you take me to dinner first, hm?"

She laughed and looked away opening the apartment door for him, this time they were going out the correct way. “Your suck an expensive date. This had better be worth it.” Rolling her eyes as she joked with an angel. Even without his wings he was still considered and clean sleight, the blush of his cheeks making her laugh at his innocence. Even now he followed her without any sense that she could potentially be the most dangerous thing he had to encounter.

Sighing she pushed her thoughts away walking down a set of stairs to a room resembling a garage, with a simple black mustang parked in the darkness of the room, she had forgot that his sense whereat as great as her own. As a demon she could sense so many things even now she could smell him over the fumes of oil and gas. Grabbing his hand she led him through the darkness and something inside her made her remain silent.

As they got to her car she opened the door and moved his hand to the cold steel of the door so he could at least feel his way inside. Moving away from him she couldn’t help but notice how warm he was. It made her wonder if she was warm to, she never paid attention but did being a demon make her different then human’s body temperature wise. She didn’t know.

Sometimes she hated her humanity even now as she climbed into the driver seat part of her wanted to break the silence and talk to him the other part was sliding into the darkness of her mind. Making her wonder about herself and where the teachers went wrong, she used to be so demon with no worries or care but now she seemed to feel the heartbeat in her chest.

He'd made her laugh again. Sam chuckled along with her, counting these personal victories as brilliant starts. He would find use for them later, when he needed to gain her trust. For now, he quieted, and he followed her obediently, curious as to where they were really going. They were in a garage now, and there was an automobile waiting there. Driving was one human skill Sam had never learned, had never cared for. While the thought of such speedy transportation did tempt him, he had always had his teleportation and his wings to get him where he needed to be. His human friends had never used cars, they were deemed too modern, so for the most part he was used to life without. All the statistics climbed into his head, the numbers representing the masses who had died in car crashes of all sorts. Would today be the day he truly lost his immortality? He turned to Deiliha, hoping, praying, she was a good driver.

They got in the car, and the man could clearly tell something was off about this demon. She seemed especially moody, even for her kind, and Sam was left analyzing her. Was something the matter? He'd have given anything to know what she was thinking, to know of her intentions. It was eerie now, to think of the horrors she might have been planning. She was a demon, after all; why should he trust her to get them to their destination without an uproar? Sam shook his head. Distrust would get him nowhere. If she did choose to jeopardize the plan, he would be able to get away. He could defend himself, and maybe, just maybe, Heaven would take pity on him. Maybe they would come to save him from this one, too. As Sam thought on that, on all the things they had ever had to save him from before, he thought it might be better to just let her kill him than to let him face that embarrassment.

He settled into the seat beside her, looking over the interior of her vehicle. She seemed disturbed now, so Sam decided to break the silence, keep her from thinking whatever it was she was thinking. "Have you been driving long?" he asked her, running a finger over the dashboard of the car. "Where I'm from, we didn't have automobiles. People rode in buggies instead, though most of us walked. Town was too small to really demand one of these. I think one of the elders had one, for emergencies, but it was never used." He turned to her side, looked over the steering wheel. "Maybe you'll teach me some day."

She blinked as her mind slid from the daze and back to the angel in her seat, tilting her head slightly she watched him debate something in his mind, and she wondered if he was regretting getting mixed up with her. Then she noticed him looking over the car and stroking the leather around him a smile hiding it in her eyes. Then he spoke and asked her to teach him to drive and she couldn’t help but grin for a second “You wouldn’t want me as a teacher.”

She sped around a corner the sound of her tires squealing making her face light up, she had always loved to speed and sometimes when no one was looking she would race or even go work on her car like one of the humans, but lately she hadn’t done much but sit in hell and gripe. Running a hand through her hair she realized why she had been upset. She didn’t want to be long to anyone but herself.

Huffing as if to blow the thought away she spoke up “I know you killed someone and I know it probably haunts your dreams, but if it means anything I don’t think you would have done it without reason. In my book and from the angels I’ve seen your one of the best.”

She felt her cheeks flush slightly unsure why she said that blinking and quickly throwing out something to cover the kindness she had shown “If I was certain I could trust your intentions I might teach you how to live like a human. After all demons are just humans who have done a little extra rule breaking.” The last part made her smile; it was true demons where once humans who had broke the almighty’s rules. Yet she didn’t regret it, she had done her time in the fire and her will had quickly moved her up the latter to where she was now.

Sam was curious as to why Deiliha said he wouldn't want her as a teacher, but he didn't have to wonder for long. As soon as she started driving Sam had to clutch the seat beneath him. This woman was mad, and she was going to get them both killed. After all, what did it matter to her? Her immortality would save her from true death, but it would no longer safeguard him. That had bee her plan all along, hadn't it? And Sam had been a fool to trust in her. This was truly where it ended.

He looked over to her, making an extra effort to look as calm as he wasn't. He wanted this to be over. Not even flying at high speeds was quite like this. Now, he was confined to a metal vehicle, and he would have no way out. He could not use his wings, nor his teleportation, meaning he was regally stuck. She spoke suddenly, and her tone sent a chill down his spine. Sam shook his head, and he straightened himself. He'd look too suspicious like this, fidgeting and struggling. So he composed himself, and he turned towards her. "I... beg your pardon?" Had she just complimented him? Where had that come from? Sam turned away, looked out the window. He hadn't had reason to kill, it was a complete accident, but he couldn't tell her that. Sam shifted a bit, wondering what the demon meant or what he did to warrant her words.

Her next suggestion, too, came as a surprise. "You were human, weren't you," he mumbled, recalling the process demons go through. "I always say, the world needs a little rule-breaking to keep the authority figures young. There's nothing wrong with a bit of that. Perhaps, once I die formally, I'll go through a process like yours." And wasn't that a terrifying thought. A bred angel turned to demonhood? There had only been one before him, eons ago. There was no way he could follow after the Lucifer. Sam sighed. "Never mind that. I'm sure I'll pick up on things rather quickly. Perhaps you will grow to trust me more, too. That is the hope." He looked to the road, which was disappearing all too quickly. "Not much longer, right?" he said, trying to hide the plea in his eyes.

She heard him and said nothing her mind wondering what would happen to him if he did go through what she did and she quickly shut her thought down as they began to drift shades darker then she desired. As he sat in the car with her she had noted the slight scent of fear coming from him as she sped around the dark streets, and then he even asked if they were almost there. As if on cue she pulled into a dimly lit building and slammed the car into park causing it to jerk forward slightly.

Her next movements where swift and is she had been a hair larger she would have smacked her head into the roof of her car, yet now she found herself straddled across his lap. The heat of his flesh making her own body heat up in response. Her crimson eyes glaring into his, flickers of different emotions causing the color to dance like a fire “I am something you should be afraid of. Not this car, and you will do very well to remember that” she leaned down taking a deep breath, her breath brushing the soft flesh where his neck met his shoulder and she whispered “I don’t think you’ll ever go through what I did, and I wouldn’t want you to. You’re still so sweet and innocent.”

A soft chuckle escaped her as she spoke of his innocence, and part of her wondered if she had frightened the oh so dangerous angel with a death wish. Reaching for the handle of her car door she felt the cool plastic of the door and opened it filling the car with the warm night air, moving her face from him she looked out into the night taking a deep breath and moving gracefully out of the car, once she was standing she leaned down and smirked “Stay put handsome.”

Closing the door behind her she walked towards a dimly lit doorway her body out lined in black as her hips sway slightly with each step, her hair brushing the sliver of visible skin across her lower back. She vanished through the door and remained there. Part of her wondered when she got back would there still be an angel in her car?

He could sense her movements before she had acted, and he had every opportunity to back away. Perhaps it was the leftover powers from being an angel, or perhaps his training had just left excellent perception even in this new life, but Sam knew what she was going to do. And yet, he did not try to move away. They were stopped now, and all was safe, except that he was in an unknown place with a literal demon right beside him. But aside from that, everything was peachy.

She wasn't looking at him. Rather, he was staring into him, making him very uncomfortable. But Sam showed none of it. He had a better grip on his emotions now, and he sat up straight with all the poise of a swan. Her voice was eerie, and he could feel the chill of her skin. What exactly was she doing? Sam held his breath as he watched her, staying perfectly still. She wanted him to fear her. Did he? Did he truly fear who had been his sworn enemy since birth? Or did he fear something greater, something beyond this demon? And just what was it?

Suddenly she was laughing, a giant contradiction to the mood she had just set. Sam watched her with confused eyes, trying to understand her motions, her motives. Would he ever grow to understand demonkind? Deciding he could dismiss her for now, he gave her a smile and sighed a bit when she reached for the door handle. Her words gave him pause, and when she ad closed the door he laughed aloud. "Handsome?" he repeated aloud. "Me? I've been called many things in my day, but handsome is one I never thought... Ptarsameal, the angel plainer than plain!" He shook his head. This was no time for laughter. He was in danger, and he could only imagine what Deiliha would do when she got back.

But then, would he mind that? Sam paused, losing himself to his thoughts. What was he anymore? An angel who had given up heaven? A man who knew how to live neither as a man nor a higher being? So did it really matter what became of him? Did he have any reason to fear Deiliha, or even death itself? He was wanted by no realm. Maybe he really was better off in the ground, permanently.

Sam cleared his throat. Suicide, that was an unthinkable act to angels. Humans that committed it almost always turned to the demon side, and those who didn't forfeited the chance to make anything of themselves. It was a taboo in the heavens, and something that did not cross an angel's mind. And yet... Sam looked away, out the window where Deiliha had disappeared. He had nothing to lose, anymore. His entire life relied on this mission. He had nothing to fear. If he did not succeed, perhaps there really was nothing left for him.

The music was set to lull a human to ease and she knew instantly that her company had been trapping, making her sigh and shake her head. The click of her boot alerting everyone of her presence and in a swift turn left she found herself in a brightly lit golden room. A man leaning over another whispering what she knew where sweet promises.

Clearing her throat she drew the whisperer’s attention and he smile brightly “Lady!!! You came to see me!!!” sighing a rolling her eyes as e moved to kiss her hand and bow his head in respect. It was something the demons had taken to doing since he almighty father of demons had claimed her as his betrothed. Huffing she jerked her hand back speaking coolly “Gerard, I’m in need of men’s clothing. Including shoes.”

The demon blinked but nodded his head “You know or lord doesn’t like it when you mess around with men not with your time being so close.” She growled and glared her eyes flashing a darker shade of red “I didn’t not ask for your opinion. Get it done now.” He scurried off and she plopped herself into an overstuffed chair tapping her black nails on the arm. She had already had her fill of this demons housing. The stench filling her nose was making her sick and uneasy and she could scent fear from the humans he trapped in the basement.

He soon returned with a bag of things and laid them at her feet bowing back with his head down, golden hair hiding his face, and she knew he was reporting back her visit. Huffing she stands and grabs the bag storming out and stomping her way the car. She got back to the car glaring at the night as she found t he sleek black beast she had loved so many years ago, going to the back she popped open the truck and tossed the bag inside.

Going around the car she got into the driver’s seat slamming the door as she plopped into the leather seat with a sigh. Taking a calming deep breath with her eyes closed before she started the engine and began pulling out of that cursed parking lot.

Sam didn't notice Deiliha approach the car, so when she opened the trunk he startled a little. She had come holding something, a bag maybe. He watched her walk back to the drivers side and start up the car. "That was fast," he murmured, though more to himself than to her. Her tone was different. She seemed colder now, and more eager to get away from this place. Sam looked back, at this strange alley and this strange building. Just where were they, anyway? What had she done in there? He turned back to her and raised an eyebrow. What was in that bag? Whatever it was, she didn't look too thrilled about it, and the former angel decided not to inquire any further.

The car ride was beginning to feel awkward. The demon wasn't speaking, and he didn't know what to say. Instead, he looked out the window and revisited his earlier thoughts. They were darker than he was used to, and already he had to wonder if this demon was having such an effect on him. How long until he was one of them? An angel turned demon, now there was a tale. Sam remembered learning about the first and only former angel, the overlord of demons himself. Would Sam ever be able to join him? All his life he had been an enemy, the enemy, and he had no desire to change that now. But he was working with his bride-to-be. Was that not the same thing? Maybe it would have been better to spare himself the embarrassment. How easy would it be to distract Deiliha enough to swerve the car into something, something big?

Sam snapped out of it. Now was no time to feel sorry for himself. He cleared his throat and looked at the road before him again. "Where are we off to now? Taking me to dinner, too?"

She drove noting the intense silence filling the car, yet she couldn’t bring herself to break the deathly void of nothingness she feared would shatter like glass around them. The angel seemed lost in his own dark thoughts and she left him there, perhaps some deep dark thinking would do the holy being some good. After all the crazy winged one in the car was sitting calmly beside a devils consort. The idea made her sigh and keep her eyes focused on the lights of the buildings around her. As her mind raced so did the car around different streets and roads.

Then she heard him speak the tension in her shoulders shattering just like the silence in the car “Are you hungry angel boy? I could always give you something to eat I promise you won’t forget.” A grim spread on her lips as she here lit up and she dared to cast a glance at the angel wondering if he would sense her meaning or if it would go over his head and become her own private joke. It hadn’t taken much to bring the light out of the she devil but the light didn’t reach the darkness lingering in her ruby eyes.

Licking her lips slowly she spoke again “We were told angels could hear cries of pain from humans, and we were told we could to but we had the choice to ignore it and angels didn’t. I had one mentor say that demons are just angels with more freedoms. After all to become a demon the king makes you sip from the cup of life they call it. Some of us get nothing from it, others get gifts like the angels get.” Chuckling she ran her hand through her hair and bulled into her garage, the lights flickering on “In truth we aren’t very different. You guys where just born with a stick firmly implanted in your ass and a control chip in your brains. Like the old alien movies I used to watch as a human.” Chuckling she leans back into her seat after putting the car in park.

If the world fell apart once she broke that veil between the angels and demons everything would get so shaken up and destroyed she could slid under the radar and wouldn’t have to marry the devil. He knew her goals but she needed to sniff out his true intent after all why would a angel trained to fallow orders decide it was time to shatter the divider between them when they where only taught to protect it.

He raised an eyebrow at what he assumed to be a joke, not quite getting it but not wanting to have it explained, either. Sam instead offered a small chuckle, and he waited to see what else she would do. They were speeding through the streets again, this batty old driver not caring if they crashed, apparently. Well, neither did Sam, not really, and that thought calmed him the smallest bit.

But then she spoke, and he turned his head to her. She was speaking of angels and demons, of the differences between them or lack thereof. It all came so out of the blue, Sam didn't understand it. "We could hear the cries of those we were stationed to watch over, yes. Angels are guardians, in a way, so we were assigned specific regions. My region was too calm to hear much pain, really, except for, well. Except for the one boy I killed." He said it without showing his immense remorse. "Perhaps we aren't so different. But Deiliha, you forget. I am no longer an angel. I forfeited my wings and halo when I murdered him. Now I am like you used to be. Mortal, and so very naive. At least, that is how they would have me. I vow they are wrong." That, at least, was not a lie.

They had arrived back at her place. Sam waited for her to get out of the car before he did. "I wonder what happens during the de-angelization process. Do I automatically lose the stick in my ass, or will I have to shit it out in the near future?" It was a joke. His attempts to lighten the mood had often failed up above, but his snide comments had always managed to get shy chuckles behind nervous hands. "Hopefully the chip's already out, because I don't think removing that would be too pleasant. If I start doing anything overly holy, like feeding homeless children or praying, just let me know and we'll work out an arrangement, alright?" He didn't bother chuckling at his own joke: that would kill it, and besides, he didn't know Deiliha's humor yet. So far it was strange, one he did not understand. But if she understood his humor, at least, that would make things much easier.

Well I could always find out.” Then she heard him talking about doing holy things and her mind flashed back to the little girl she had saved from bulling boys and she shook her head. He would never truly understand that she was a failure as a demon and she was the only one who noticed, running a nervous hand through her head she wondered what kinda of rage an X-angel would have against a demon who was still tainted with humanity.

Moving towards the stairs she offered a small smile as a reward for him trying to make jokes to pull her from the darkness of her own mind, in a flash she forced her control to snap back into place and became her former carefree self “If you start doing holy things I’ll just have to show you how fun the unholy things are.” Smiling brightly she chuckled as the reentered her home.

She tossed the bad at him know inside would be a box, with a pair of black tennis shoes for him and she began digging in her fridge she sigh dramatically “I don’t know what you like. What have you had of mortal foods?” looking around her fridge door at him she tilts her head ever so slightly. Thought crossed her mind and she found herself wondering if she even remembered how to cook like a human, the thought made a pout form on her lips as her eyes darkened ever so slightly.

Her response to his joke stilled him a bit. He didn't think unholy things would be so amusing, really, and he was scared of what the crazy bat was thinking of. He tried not to think too hard about it, knowing doing so would get them nowhere. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that. He didn't have many angelic tendencies even as an angel. Wasn't that why he'd been thrown out in the first place? Hiding the very few he had wouldn't be hard at all.

Back inside, Sam awkwardly held the bag in his hands and peered into the box. Solids, and so plain; not exactly his style. But he was a beggar and therefore not a chooser, so Sam bowed his thanks and moved to a wall to put on his new shoes. They were comfortable at least, even if they did seem so dull. When she spoke to him, Sam looked up and watched her move about her kitchen. What did he like...? Sam tried to think of the last time he had had actual food. It had all been simple stuff, but the woman who'd made it for him--the mother of the boy he'd killed--had made it taste so divine. He turned away at the memory.

When Sam looked back up, his previous demeanor had faded. He had a smirk on his face. "How about angel food cake?" he suggested, but laughed to show it was a joke. "I'm kidding. I don't know why they named a food after them. Makes me not want to eat it. Have you any meats? I remember eating a lot of chicken and pork, I think it was, grilled. But I'm not picky, not really. I'll eat whatever you're offering." He joined her in the kitchen and looked over what she had. "I can cook, too," he said, though his confidence in his abilities was faltering. "Do demons even need to eat? Why don't I cook my own food? I'm not such an invalid, you know."

She tilted her head as he asked if Demons even ate food and she scoffed lifting her chin “I can eat, I just don’t have to. I just can’t cook. “grumbling she looked down at her feet and kicked a little “Gluttony wasn’t my sin… so I’m not forced to eat on a regular basis.” Closing her fridge, she moved herself to the bar like counter and sat on one of the small round stools. She quickly made mental note that the leather really wasn’t worth what she paid for it before leaning over the counter and placing her head in her hands watching the angel in her kitchen.

She said nothing for a moment just simply studying the strange being who fell into her lap, she had yet to decide if she trusted him but even without trust she could judge him accordingly. Her middle finger tapped her cheek as she studied him the hidden muscles rippling under his clothes. She could bet he was strong but how strong she was not sure. Part of her wanted to test it and learn for herself the other part told her to stay seated and watch. It was only a matter of time before someone came to stop them.

“When you were a angel what was one human thing you most defiantly wished you could do? I had a chance to do a lot of things I wish I had done but once I resurfaced as what you see today I made sure to do them all, but now I find myself being bored with most things….” Huffing she let her head drop as she crossed her arms on the counter and laid her head down.

Out of the corner of her eye she noticed movement a small black cat hopping up on the counter to headbutt her as he purred away making her huff and roll her eyes “Stupid cat. You’re not helping and I’m not feeding you right now..”

Her words caught his interest, even if he didn't let it show. Gluttony wasn't my sin. Was she referring to the seven deadly sins? If not gluttony, what was her sin? Pride, envy, lust, wrath, sloth, avarice... Did Deiliha claim one of those as her own? Sam looked to her, studied her, wondering which fit her best. He soon turned away, not wanting to cause her any suspicion. He'd find out sooner or later, and maybe then he would know just how to toy with ehr.

Sam got right to work in her kitchen, looking for things that seemed edible. This demon had an incredible amount of actual food for not having to eat. He worked gracefully, plucking ingredients off of shelves and brainstorming what would go well together. He decided on a stew, throwing in things that shouldn't necessarily be in a stew. He was no gourmet chef, but he was faking it as well as he could manage. He stirred the mixture slowly, and looked up at the demon watching him, studying him. She was planning something, but what...?

Her question was out of the blue. Sam didn't meet her eye as he thought on it, instead concentrating on his meal. "That sounds like a pity," he said in response to her own story. To lose interest in the things that once gave her pleasure... Was that her biggest complaint? If only he could have a complaint that small. The former angel cleared his throat. "Angels are not programmed to feel human emotions like love, nor even hate. I always wondered what those were truly like. I wondered what it was like to feel a lover's touch, or feel the heat radiating through my body at the thought of an enemy. Anger, too, is a feeling I am not quite used to." Sam looked up at her. "They say angels aren't supposed to feel things like that, but I can't help but feel as if... I know anger, at least."

It was true, that. Sam had always been self-conscious about his inclination to anger. Everyone knew his kind wasn't supposed to feel it, but the boy had no other name for what coursed through his veins every time Ursupala told him he wasn't good enough, every time he was held back from graduating, every time he acted as himself. He supposed it wasn't important now; as a human, he could feel whatever he wanted without remorse. A wave of anger crossed him, but he shook his head and looked back to Deiliha. "Never mind that. I--Oh." His eyes fell over the cat, and he smiled. "Hey little guy," he cooed. "I'll give you some leftovers in a bit, okay? Here." He tossed the cat a piece of some sort of meat. "Food's ready. Shall I pour you a bowl?"

She watched him mix his grand mash up of what she assumed to be a soup of sorts but something in the way he moved made her laugh inside her own mind realizing he had no earthly idea what he was doing. Yet she watched silently saying nothing but wondering why it was he felt the need to pretend to cook. Leaning her head over on her hand she heard him speak of emotions he knew nothing about. Closing her eyes a smile clean split her face her eyes lighting up. “Would you like to learn emotions? I could teach you some of the basics. Nothing to fancy but I can most defiantly trigger a few.” Smirking she tilted her head slightly “Or maybe you should do it alone, may not be able to handle what I can throw handsome.” Winking she giggled as she ran her fingers down the cats soft black fur.

He spoke to her cat which caused the little feline to look at her and then back at him with distain, it was clear she would hear about this later from her mentor after all the only purpose of the black cat was to report to the others making her glare and huff, sitting up straighter and flicking the cat on the nose making it sneeze and take off running as she mumbled “Stupid spy.” He asked her if she wanted to try his food and she raised one of her eyebrows shaking her head slightly “You can have at your own creation. The food I crave can’t come from you.” Licking her lips slightly she gets up “I’m sorry darlin I have some business that needs my attention.” Turning her back to him she walks into her room shutting the

As if on cue with the click the small black cat turned into a larger dead looking beast, flames dancing in his eyes and seeming to crackle under his ragged skin a hiss escaping him causing smoke to billow up from his blackened nostrils. Looking at the beast boredom etched in her face “Your going to make my smell like hell. I’d rather you didn’t.” the beast merely flicked one of his ragged tipped ears towards the door before growling and laying across the foot of her bed, making her groan “I don’t ask about your rats dont ask about mine.” Walking into her bathroom she slammed the door and began the process of dressing for the hunt.

It was a careful art even or her, painting her face to dance the dance with the other women roaming the night. Running the red paint across her already full lips making the common O face in the mirror, then moving to done her eyes with shadows carefully blending the smoke edges with the sharpness of her winged eyeliner.thicking her lashes and tracing the careful line under her eyes she smiled at her appearance shaking her hair around her making it fall in wild waves of darkness framing her porcelain features and making her ruby eyes math the wicked color of her lips. Yanking the dress of the door she slides to soft satin over her recently stripped frame, it was a gift for her and he knew why. It hugged her in all the right places and was short enough to draw the eye but long enough for your imagination to wonder, reaching up she tied the lace ribbons that started just about her breasts around the back of her neck. Sighing at her reflection, her eyes casting over herself as she mumbled “Red and black are such common colors…” sadness seemed to lace through her before fading back in the darkness of her mind. Coming out of the bathroom she quickly threw on a pair of black strappy heels.

Standing up straight she runs a hand through her hair and makes her way out of the bed room casting a smile at the angel in her kitchen “I don’t know if you want to join me, but you are more than welcome to.”

Sam had to stop himself from rolling his eyes. "There's nothing you can do that would be too much for me to handle," he muttered very quietly, obviously unamused by whatever this demon was trying to accomplish. He knew how triggers worked, how the simplest things could bring about such rushes of emotion. He also knew there was no chance this witch would be able to spark any type of response from him. So, he shrugged his shoulders, and he sipped at his own stew. It didn't taste like the stews he was used to, but it wasn't necessarily bad, and it would do with nutritional value. He watched her as he ate, wondering just what she'd had in mind, anyway. The compliment that ended her words; was she trying to flirt with him? Sam would accept none of that. He remained silent, not wanting to upset her.

The cat seemed to call to the demon, so Sam remained still and watched as she spoke to it in disgust. Next thing he knew she was gone, leaving him alone once more. "Sure has a tendency to leave her guests to their own devices," Sam murmured. He looked around the room, studying it, while she did whatever it was she was doing behind closed doors. By the time she returned, he had already finished his meal and was wondering what he was to do.

She came back looking different. Her makeup was done, her hair fell perfectly, and she had on the most alluring dress. Sam raised an eyebrow at her, wondering what the occasion was. Though he didn't expect her to be so open about all her daily routines, he at least expected something more than these random plans she kept making. He walked over to her and shrugged his shoulders, not very invested in her appearance. After all, she was a demon, and he would never find one of those attractive. She was trying to manipulate someone, something, and he wasn't going to buy into it. "If you'd told me where you're going, perhaps I might be interested in joining you."

She rolled her shoulders in a shrugging motion “honestly I’m going to the club to indulge in my inner bad side. However I doubt that’s your kind of scene, people there arnt exactly good and holy.” Glancing down at the floor she shifted her feet slightly and sighed “Look as a demon every now and then like humans need to eat we need to feed as well just not on food like you.” Lifting her gaze she met his “its truly not something I’m proud of and I think you should stay home, I like you much better as a prince charming character in this story.” Turning her back she started towards the door, tossing a pair of keys over her shoulder to him “If you leave and wander around make sure you lock my doors. My cat likes to leave me dead presents if you don’t.”

With that she walked her way out the door the click of her heels leaving a echo through the house until it all of the sudden was replaced by the sound of a engine roaring to life, she squealed out of the garage having left the door open when she had pulled in earlier because she knew she had to feed tonight in order to keep her power levels high enough to walk around in her human skin. A sigh escaped her in the car and even in the darkness she could see the misty cloud coming from her mouth and she glared her eyes glowing red, she had already waited to long and was pushing the edge of her power and her transformation.

Flicking open her phone she hit send for she really only called one number from her phone and it was her own version of a side job, after all money was the root of all evil so it would stand to reason she needed plenty of it. Speaking into her phone “Who is the target this evening? “ a mumble came over the line and she nodded her head clicking the phone shut as soon as the mumbles shopped. After all she needed to sate her demon side so why not put it to use as well? Take out a dirt bag or two and get paid keeping her walking around and keep the lives of innocent people safe. Huffing she raced off into the night to complete the task at hand.

He just watched her off, wondering what he was to do while she went and feasted on someone. It was one of the gross details about demons he had intentionally forgotten. They needed to feast on some essence of man, something Sam didn't want to know details about. He rolled his eyes as she left. She didn't want him to come, and he didn't want to go, so it worked out, anyway.

With Deiliha gone, Sam wandered around the house for a bit. He studied its interior, snooped a bit, and watched the cat from a distance. After he finished all that, he took off, locking the door behind him. He hadn't been given much a chance to explore this new place, and now, with normal clothes, he wouldn't stick out so dramatically.

He didn't know where he was. It was a city of sorts, judging by the number of people lingering about. He didn't make an effort to mingle, not yet. He studied the surrounding areas, taking extra notice of the police station and restaurants. Maybe, when he'd tire of his own cooking, and when he found a way to make money, he'd be frequenting such places. Did the police know there was a demon in their midst? Did they even know the creatures existed? Sam sighed. Ignorance was bliss. He hesitated, wondering just what he was doing. Working with a demon... Could Adainmelhye see him now? What would his god think? He hoped the old man wasn't still watching him. He hoped he'd be free to carry out his plan smoothly.

Sam returned to Deiliha's house before she did. He had taken to napping, overcome with the human emotion of exhaustion. He wasn't concerned; Sam would be awake as soon as that demon came back, and then he could figure out what to do.

She had vanished for a amount of time that allowed the moonlight to start drifting into dawn and she now seemed to radiate with a devils gift and that allowed her to simply materialize in her room, once surrounded by her own possessions she sighed breath of relief and her shoulders seemed to drop as the power seemed to simmer down as well allowing her to relax she cut her eyes to the side to find her cat laying on the bed watching her a grumble coming from him “Seems you hunt was very successful.” Rolling her eyes she walked over and scratched his head saying nothing yet she spoke up once more “The angel left for a bit explored the outside with me on his heels, I wanted to make sure he wasn’t up to something dirty.” That made her chuckle slightly and speak up “And where is he now?” the cat glanced at the door “He is napping on the couch, don’t scare him.” She shook her head a smile on her lips and she began sliding from her dress.

Once naked she sighed in relief and quickly grabbed a pair of comic book fuzzy pants as she called them and a large white shirt sliding them on before she padded barefoot out of her room. She left the angel to sleep or wake up as he pleased but she silently seemed to float around the kitchen getting together what looked like the makings for eggs bacon and toast. Flicking one of her fingers at a small red machine on the counter making it click and begin the process of brewing on of humans most common addictions. As she began to fry the bacon the smell seemed to spread through the house along with the smell of coffee.

She hadn’t needed to cook for a long time but it was something she never forgot because it was something from her humanity that she held so dear, and she was very glad that she had managed to hold onto the memories of her grandmother. That woman was the only reason she made it out of hell with any of her old self but oh how her grandmother would be ashamed of her now. The train of thoughts seemed to make her zone out she repeated the familiar motions of making a home cooked breakfast.

He was awake at the first sign of her in the room. Sam was still groggy as his eyes fluttered open, and it took him a moment to remember where he was. He saw Deiliha dressed in what might have been pajamas and raised a brow. When had she come in? Just what time was it? He looked for a clock in the room and furrowed his brows at what it read. Had he really slept so long? His neck was cramped, the couch having been an uncomfortable resting place, and so when he sat up he tried to stretch it. He stretched his back, and went to stretch his wings before he remembered, again, why he could no longer do that. Sometime I'll remember they're not there anymore.

Sam got up from the couch and walked over to the kitchen. "Thought you didn't like food," he said when he saw that the demon was cooking something. The fresh smell of breakfast wafted through the air, paired with an old smell that seemed to be coming from the liquid she was brewing. "You're not cooking for me, are you? Because I'm perfectly capable of making something for myself." His thoughts flooded back to last night, of his stew. It hadn't been what he'd been expecting, but it was delicious nonetheless. The former angel shrugged. "Easy on the meat, yeah? Can't be making me fat now. Otherwise I think you'd be trying to eat me."

Seeing that she was in her element, Sam didn't try to intervene. "You know what you're doing, eh?" he asked, watching her move about. "Oh, how was your... outing? Or should I not ask? Seems like something I shouldn't ask about." He shrugged his shoulders again. "Where'd you learn to cook like that? I just figure, if you have no need for the skill, why bother learning it? 'Less you learned it when you were still among us, eh?"

He got up and instantly started questioning her which only made her chuckle and shake her head focusing on the bacon sizzling in the pan as she debated answering her questions. As her mind thought about it a very valid point came into her mind, whispering why not as her mind came to a response.

“I never said I hated food simply that I didn’t want what it was you had decided to create.” Moving silently her eyes glued to the bacon as she began flipping each strip deciding to respond to the easier of the questions “When I was human and my grandmother still lived, we would cook together. It was the only small semblance of peace I had in my human life. So sometimes I get in the mood to bask in that light again.” This time she looked up her eyes meeting his as the crimson color seemed to want to shift to a different shade but it only made her eyes a deep purple before she looked down and shook her head “Maybe that’s why I decided to speak to you. Just for a chance to have some light in the darkness I have adapted to.” Running her free hand through her hair she huffed mumbling “I apologize. I don’t mean to sink so deep so quickly.”

She went back to her bacon and began pulling it from the pan and laying it across a white plate lined with a paper towel to soak up the excess grease. Time for his final question “My outing went as planned and you probably don’t want to know the details. As for trying to eat you” she offered a playful grin with a slight tilt of her head “You wish gluttony was my sin my darling angelic morsel.” She couldn’t remain serious after her last spout of words making her eyes glitter with laughter and her mouth curve upwards in the same fashion. Turning to her cabinets she began pulling out plates and filling them with the fried eggs and bacon, along with two pieces of buttered toast as well. Laying the plate in front of him as she also sat a fork down next to it, sitting herself down across from him her eyes watching him, yet in the same intense she seemed not as interested as she should have been. taking a bite of bacon she couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like to be a angel with no human experiences and no semblance of who you really are only whom you were told to be.

She couldn’t help being unsure of what to say to him because deep down she knew he was bred to hate her and chances are if given the chance he would toss her under the bus for a chance at his wings, but what if she could find a way to give him wing back, maybe not his but wings. The thoughts made her eating slow and her mind wander a zillion miles an hour.

She was being oddly conversational this morning. Sam was quiet as he listened to her, paying extra care to listen for things he could use against her. She was being sentimental; perhaps that would be where he would be able to take advantage of her. He shook his head at her apology. "I don't mind," he told her, and he didn't. He wanted to learn more about her. That way, it would be easier to destroy her later.

She answered all of his questions, even if he hadn't wanted her to. She joked with him, and so he laughed back. "We can make a new sin," he said, though the concept was scary to him. He didn't know how far to take such jokes. Would they help his case? Would they help him grow closer to her? He decided not to give them too much weight. Sam walked over to the table and sat himself in front of one of the plates Deiliha had laid out. Her smile faded away, and she ate with a concentration he didn't know how to handle. What was she thinking of now? Should he break her from her reverie?

Sam motioned towards their meal. "Breakfast looks delicious. Your grandmother must have been a really good cook to teach something like this. Let's see if taste matches looks." He made a sandwich of his bacon, eggs, and toast and bit into them. "Mmm," he murmured, only a few seconds later, mouth still full. "This really tastes delicious. You know, if you want some light in the darkness, I think we could talk a lot more. Teach me how to cook, would you? That would keep me around, though I think your cooking alone would keep me around." He took another bite. "Cook for me like this, though, and I'll never leave, so you'll have to be careful."

He had made a comment about making a new sin and the thought made her shudder inside speaking up “I don’t think that would be a great thing to joke about, humans and angels alike end up in a lot of trouble with the sins we already have if we made another one to add to the list it would only make for less souls to be saved.” Running a hand through her hair she chuckled nervously realizing she had sounded weak and she wasn’t certain that was a great idea. Commenting quickly to cover her thoughts “Then again I guess I’m supposed to be making room for more souls down under.” Popping another bit of bacon in her mouth she listened to him and rolled her eyes.

“You’ll leave one day, sadly there isn’t any way around that let’s be honest your human now so you’ll only live for maybe 85 years if your life is good and long. Then you will pass and then what? Be an angel again? Or maybe you’ll join in my ranks and become something you where taught to destroy, and honestly you probably wouldn’t cope to well with being a demon or even if you did I doubt the devil himself wants any sort of compaction so you’d probably end up locked away somewhere that no one would remember or even think about you.” She hadn’t meant to go so dark and so cold but he needed to know what happened if and when they failed. Sighing she looked down at her plate her eyes closed “I will teach you to cook because you are alive and I envy that. You have always had a life of order and rules so with this one you should live a little and good food can be a good start. Plus maybe you’ll find what I lost in myself. “

Sam paused and watched her, watched as sadness came over her like a veil. He started to speak up but stopped himself, deciding against it. Instead he let her finish. When she was finished he finally spoke. "That's not going to happen," he said indignantly. "I'm alive now, but I won't be. You're right. But I'm not just going to die. Angels don't come from humans, but demons... Lucifer will see there's a lot to me. I don't think he'll be able to pass me up." The words were vile on his tongue. He wanted nothing to do with Lucifer, but he needed to pretend long enough to make it believable. Only then would he truly get the life he wanted.

He took another bite, contemplating. He wasn't sure what to make of this mood of Deiliha's. "I still think we could make something work. If you really are willing to work with me, and I mean more than just housing me and feeding me, I think Lucifer would take me in a heartbeat. Then I certainly wouldn't be going anywhere. So, listen here. Only two angels in the history of angelkind have ever been... demoted, right? And that's Lucifer, and me. Which means, since I'm much closer to the current system, I'm the only one that really knows what's going on up there. So let's say I used that power to exact my revenge on everyone upstairs."

Sam paused, more for dramatic effect than to sort his thoughts. "I know how things work. I think, if given a chance, I would be able to stage a coup against all of Heaven. Why don't you let me talk to Lucifer about it? The two of us have a lot in common, from the sounds of things. I think we could devise a really good way to destroy Heaven once and for all. Start a grand war, and of course the demons would win. After that, Luci will see me in all my glory, and he'll make me a demon no question. I do wonder what my sin would be..."

The idea of a war excited Sam far more than he wanted to admit. He didn't want the demons to win, and he didn't want to be a demon himself, but this was the story he would have to ride until he got what he wanted. At the last possible moment, he would betray Lucifer, betray Deiliha and all the demons. Adainmelhye, upon seeing that, would have to give him his wings back. It was foolproof. But talking to Lucifer and plotting against his home sounded far too stressful. He took a breath, seemingly calming himself down from the excitement, but really calming himself from anxiety. He waited for Deiliha's response.

She listened to him speak and it caused a wave of emotions that left her very silent as the thought reeled around in her head. She didn’t really think him meeting the devil himself would be a good idea considering the current situation she was in herself, he hadn’t been known as forgiving to one who played with his personal toys. Then again it may be a brilliant idea he had quit a few valid points in his statement. Then there was the last curious thought why would an angel raised in glory and light so quickly turn his back on all that he knew and even start asking what sin he would become. That made her wary of him but she kept the emotions from her face and spoke in a nonchalant tone “It may be a good idea, but it could also be a bad idea. After all, how do you think Luci as you say would take it that you’re staying with his betrothed?”

She didn’t like the nagging feeling she had that he was lying to her about something but wouldn’t the devil himself be able to sniff out a lie as if it where the fear she had learned to smell herself. Which could very quickly answer the question that popped into her mind. Could this man be trying to get into her mind so he could break her will as the other demons had so long ago making her what she is today. Finishing her food, she puts her plate in the sinks and starts the slow process of doing dishes but honestly it was more to keep her back to him as her mind tried so figure out the next step for them. She needed to know she could trust him but she needed to find a way to make him show his loyalty.

He had killed once how would he feel about doing it again? And could he truly handle the war he so badly wanted to start? Sighing she dries her hands “If we want to find the devil there is a demon a few hours out who may know where and what he is doing. However, he may need persuasion to help us after all the devil goes off to do his own thing claiming to be bored of hell itself. He also normally punishes those who bother him so let’s hope he is in the mood for some company.” Her stomach sank thinking about going to see a man she had been trying very hard to avoid, the angel didn’t know it but she had taken measures for her home just to make sure the devil stayed away from her. Mostly just because she didn’t want to be locked away again.

She was considering it. Sam could see the gears turning, though he made it a point not to stare at her. If she was willing to hear out his plan and maybe even help him execute it he'd be that much closer to his goal. How hard would it be from there? Saying it aloud was the hardest part, and maybe getting Lucifer to agree, but Sam had to be confident. Confidence was more important than substance in this argument, and he intended to win.

Though Deiliha's words made him stop and stare at her with a quizzical look. "Betrothed?" he repeated. "Do demons still wed? I didn't know that. But I wouldn't be staying with his--oh." Normally a bright kid, Sam was struck dumb by the knowledge of what she'd meant. She was going to be married to the Lucifer? For his fiance, she sure did seem to not like the guy. Sam turned away to think. Something was up between the devil and the demon before him, but he didn't want that to come between him and his goal. If Deiliha was engaged to him, that made finding him much easier. Ideas formed in his head about how he would go about fulfilling his role. Eventually he nodded slightly. "I'm not afraid. I'm sure I'l find a way."

Apparently, not even the devil's bride-to-be knew where he was. Sam smirked. "You need someone to find your fiance for you? Some wife you'll make." Then, hopefully before she could get offended, he added, "It was a joke, don't take me seriously. I think Luci will listen to me. We're a lot closer, he and I, than most other beings could be to one another. We're the only ones to be thrown out of Heaven. Only he understands my absolute rage." Sam joined Deiliha by the sink with his own dishes. He started washing them. "It's worth a shot, I say. Let's go out to this demon. What sort of persuasion should I prepare for? Should I give him a cookie? A lap dance? Either way, I'm sure we'll manage fine."

She glared at him after his joke but she couldn’t blame him for trying to joke about it not really understanding with her it’s a sensitive subject “They don’t really marry it’s more of a claim thing. Like this is your new toy and no one else can touch it but Lucifer is and has been claiming brides for if I can remember. I don’t know if he is jealous of humans love for one another or trying to create a strong line of hell spawn. Either way I try not to know where he is because I don’t like him knowing where I am.” Huffing she closed her eyes and leaned her head on the table before bringing it back to look at the angel “Come on your going to need a toy of your own.”

Getting up from the table she sighs and walks towards what everyone else would call a pantry, but when she opened the doors it was lined with weapons but clearly just for show and for use, after all even demons enjoyed some human creations “You can’t go out there with noting and hope to come back with something.” She didn’t turn to face him mostly because her mind was wondering and she had never really been good at keeping emotions from her eyes. “I need to get dressed.” with that she turned a quick left and headed straight for her room. Sifting through clothes quickly she pulled on a pair of white wash jeans with a black belt to keep them up around the curve of her hips, pulling on a plain black tee and a pair of feminine boots but making sure to exclude the heels. After all who wanted to run or even fight in heels?

Pulling her wild hair into a ponytail she huffs and walks out of her room going into the pantry herself and pulling a hand size blade with blackened steel and a carved bone handle tucking it into the cut out slit in her boot concealing it from the world she then went to the guns her eyes wander over the several different pistols wondering which one she wanted to take on this little adventure.

Sam shook his head at Deiliha's explanation. He didn't like the idea of claiming anyone, but he wasn't surprised that demons partook in such a practice. Lucifer probably could have any toy he wanted, which raised another question. Why had he gone for Deiliha? What special traits, besides her wild beauty, did she possess? Just what was Sam getting himself into? He nodded along with her, and arched a brow when she told him to get his own toy. A female demon to take as his own? Any demon could easily overpower the mortal he now was, so what good would that do?

It took him a minute to realize that was not the kind of toy she had meant. He looked over her weapons with wide eyes. Of course Sam knew how to wield the weapons she had, but he was concerned about what others would think. Were weapons commonplace here? If Deiliha turned on him now, she'd easily be able to cleave him in half. He shook the thought. She wouldn't do that, not now, not after all this. He looked over the weapons and muttered something about the collection. He acknowledged her leaving, then ran his fingers over the different weapons. He decided to take what felt right: a jagged dagger with a gem in its hilt. He tucked it into his trousers and waited for Deiliha to return.

She took her own weapon, which she concealed in her boot. "It worries me that we need weapons where we are going," he stated. "What manner of demon do you intend to lead us to?" He cocked his head at the guns: just what kind of business was this woman into? She had more weapons than was legal, probably tenfold. He hesitated. "You have an impressive collection here. Ah, may I take... this one?" He plucked a pistol from her collection and flipped it in the air, only barely catching it. He checked the barrel; it was loaded. "Luckily I know how to use these things. I'm ready for quite the street fight now."

She watched him just as closely as she listened to him speak, but she could hear the clear curiosity he had in her collection and her life but she left it all alone “you can take that just be careful don’t shoot your eye out. You only have two.” She chuckled at the movie reference and the fact he barley caught the gun. “You know for some reason I assumed angels to all fight with swords and stuff.” She knew it was cheesy and stupid but she could never shake the things she learned to believe as a human. Picking up a pistol of her own and tucking it into the small of her back hidden under her shirt. Weapons where honestly more of a precaution then a must have for her but Sam was going to need something to keep him safe just in case they ended up separated.

“Honestly I don’t know what to expect from the demon we are going to visit. He could tell us everything without a issue or he could call in back up and put up one hell of a fight, either way you need to be prepared for both.” Her gaze meeting his “And I don’t know about you but I’d feel better knowing if we got separated that you can stay alive long enough for me to get to you. “leaning closer to him she reaches beside him the skin of her arm barley grazing his arm as she picked up a small black leather holster of throwing knives a smile curving at her lips before she pulled back and turned around walking out of the small space.

“You ready for another road trip?” she chuckled knowing how uneasy he was the last time she drove him anywhere and this trip was going to be worse for the simple fact it was far longer than the last one he had gone on. “Its going to be a longer trip then our last one.” Walking towards the door she turns around “you might want a jacket. It’s in the closet right before you go out, there should be a few for you to pick from.” Turning she starts down the stairs towards her car.

He looked up at the reference, curious, remembering hearing it from somewhere but not knowing where. Sam shrugged it off, and cocked his head at her words. "We don't fight at all," he said, already once again forgetting he was no longer part of that we. "When we did fight, back in the days of the Angel Demon Wars, we used a lot of swords and rods, but we were not completely useless with cannons or guns, either. I learned to use all weapons. That's the kind of thing they teach you at the Academy. It's in case you ever need to help out the humans in something like that. I never thought I'd use those practices, but,well, here I am."

He listened to her talk about their demon. Sam kept his eyes on his weapons as he processed all the information. Backup? A fight? But why would he do that? And if that was the case, would Sam be able to really fight? His only kill had been an accident. He didn't want to kill anyone. He was an angel so that he could protect human lives. And if he had to kill anyone... Maybe they'd all be demons, he told himself. He'd have no problems killing demons. Maybe he wouldn't have to further taint his record after all. And besides, even if he did have to kill a few humans, it was all for the greater good. In Heaven, as an angel again, he'd make sure to protect everyone under his wings from any harm, ever. He'd make damn sure of that this time.

Sam nodded towards the demon. "I do love road trips," he said, though his voice was level. She knew how much he had not enjoyed their first, and hearing that this trip would be longer made him more uncomfortable. He had to put his own thoughts aside. There were loads of things he would have to do that he didn't want to do. Driving with this madwoman was a very easy one that he could definitely handle. So, he did what he was told, pulling the first jacket he saw out of the closet and putting it on. After making sure his weapons were invisible, he followed behind Deiliha to her car. "Alright," he said. "Let's get this over with."

She smiled and headed down the stairs getting to the lower level and going around climbing in her car she waited patiently for him to get in the car but she wasn’t sure what to say to ease his mind about the trip ahead of them. After all she was about to see how this former angel handled under pressure. If it came down to it would he have her back? Or would he roll over like everyone before him. Truth be told she had tried many ways of getting out of this marriage thing with the devil himself but she had failed over and over, truth be told it was very frustrating for her.

Sighing she starts the car and starts putting the address into the gps that was on the center console of her car. She turned the music on for a low hum t hopefully keeps the car from being filled with an awkward silence and maybe to help him relax a little give his mind something else to focus on. She laughed and commented “Do warn me before you puke angel boy.” A burst of laughter echoed from her lips.

He didn't like the laughter that fell from her lips like a taunt. Sam shifted uncomfortably and looked out the window, struggling to concentrate on something. He settled on the sky, but that only held his attention for so long. "I'm not going to puke," he insisted quietly, but shook her joke off. He hummed along to the radio, trying anything to distract himself.

A while later Sam looked to Deiliha. "We're almost there, right?" He thought back to before they had gotten in the car. She'd said it would be longer, but it wouldn't be too much longer, or at least he hoped. He turned his attention to the radio. "Did you know they usually only have live music upstairs? Some angels devote their lives to playing music for everyone. We have really old instruments, like harps and lyres, ones I never cared for. It's always different on a radio. More instruments, more special effects. I prefer this." He looked back to her. "Well, anyway. Maybe when all of this's done with we can quit our day jobs and be musicians."

She listened to him and the idea made the tug of a smile curve her lips “I tried once to play instruments in school but I was awful at it. I later found out I was more suited for drawing and cooking then other types of art, but I do like the radio music. However I hear that concerts from here are fantastic maybe we can take a day off and go to one. If you’d like that?” she could tell the trip was taking a toll on the poor angel and she was glad there was only about half an hour left.

He had been pretty quite over most of the trip and she left it at that for the simple reason she didn’t really know what to say to him. Talking had never really been her strong suit she had always been to herself but she found herself talking a lot to him. Sighing she decided he needed a run down on where they were going “Ok so we are close to where we need to be. I don’t know what will all happen but we aren’t telling him what you are or the true purpose for us looking for the devil himself. If he knew he might try to kill you on the spot or try and kidnap you and see if he could gain some leverage himself. Most of us look to please the devil.” She kept her eyes glued to the road honestly she wasn’t looking forward to this but she also knew she had no other ideas on how to start the war.

Part of her wondered if angels floated around watching over people did they already have word of this plan? If so would she have to fight them with demons? That would wind up being one hell of a fight. They pulled into a secluded drive way that seemed dark and daunting. Yet she just kept going her head lights shining on a older looking house with lights on in random windows. Breathing in a deep breath she prepared herself.

He processed her proposal carefully. A concert... Certainly a live musical performance would not be as good down here as upstairs. Still, it was worth a try. He'd been to concerts before, fun little gatherings that the humans loved a great deal. A few times his friends on earth had noticed dates to such occasions. Sam looked to Deiliha and smirked. Most definitely not. What was she thinking? Certainly not that. Sam shook his head. The girl was lonely, was all. Her fiance was abusive and manipulative; of course she'd turn to anyone she should get. "I'd love to go," was the only response Sam offered, and the following silence left both of them to their thoughts.

It was a long while before Deiliha finally broke the silence. Sam raised a brow at her. She was briefing him, finally. Sam listened, trying to determine what he was getting into. "No telling him what I am," he repeated with a firm nod. "I think that is the case with anyone I come across. No one would take well to it. That's news best saved for Luci himself, for him to do whatever he wanted with it." He looked out the window again. Demons sought to please their devil like angels sought to please their god. So similar, and yet, so grossly different. Sam wondered how different things would be if Deiliha and he had been in different positions.

The car began slowing down. Sam examined their surroundings. He didn't like them. It seemed everywhere this demon went was shrouded in darkness, this place no different. The demon they were to meet, maybe he preferred darkness. Maybe he liked when his victims could not see. No, Sam thought. He would not be a victim today. He looked to the demon again. "Are we here?"

Something in his tone changed or maybe it was just the air around him that seemed to change after she offered to take him to one of the human concerts, but she said nothing. She didn’t let it faze her as she stared blankly into the dark. Her tone was cold and cut off “Don’t show weapons unless necessary.”

Getting out of her car she started up the four stairs and down the side walk to the front door. She assumed the angel would fallow but her thoughts where racing as she began to wonder. How would this work? Could he fight if need be? And what would he say to convince the devil to help someone who he had grown to hate with such a burning fire. Perhaps that would be their link, but running of the fuel off being abandoned and thrown from the one home they knew just for being more human than the other robots. Raising her fist she knocked three times. Sighing softly her mind settles, if he met the devil and he agreed to help him Sam would no longer need her and she could go on her way. The devil would be too distracted and to reviled in the chaos to remember the lower creature he had said he wanted for his collection. The thoughts alone left a sour taste in her mouth, but this may be exactly what she needs for him so she could escape the devils grip.

After a little time she door opened revealing a tall dark man with a smile painted on his face, his teeth to bright and straight as he flashed them at her. His eyes lighting up with what could only be described as a fire “Deiliha! What on earth are you doing here?” she smiled and the slightest tilt of her head displayed a slight curiosity “Why you don’t already know dear. I’m looking for my fiancé, I have a gift for him.” The man chuckled something that rattled through his thin frame “Come in and we will talk. Who’s your friend?” she glanced back “Oh him? He is one of the stupid cult sheep. Thinks I will give him dark powers of something. Now he is more a mindless puppy. I say come and he does. Don’t you just love the perks of being what we are because I do.” He nodded “I can agree to that. I have a few one them myself they are good for some things.”

Sam followed Deiliha to an eerie-looking door. He couldn't tell what it was about the door, the fact that it reflected darkness, or maybe that it led only to the unknown; whatever it was, the boy really did not want to be here. He stood firm and watched as the demon knocked in some kind of pattern. There was silence for a few seconds, and then the door opened. The demon on the other end--Sam knew he was a demon, he could feel the dark aura about him--was just as intimidating as Deiliha herself. He spoke in a chipper tone, at least, which was more than Sam could say about his partner in this too-big crime. He recognized her, and she played dumb. There was little Sam could do but stand there and watch.

Then the other demon referred to him. He moved to introduce himself, but Deiliha got to the question faster. It hurt his pride to not speak up against her lie. He was not a mindless puppy; he was the brains in this operation, and Deiliha was only the means of getting what he wanted. It made his blood boil, having Deiliha talk about him like that. He had to turn away. His hands balled to fists, but he realized there would be no use to a fight now. It would get him nowhere, and only make things worse for him. He didn't know this demon, and he didn't trust Deiliha. If he screwed up now, there was nothing stopping him from being killed.

There was little Sam could do while the demons spoke. Deiliha thought he was just a mindless dog, but given the chance, he'd prove to her and this other demon that he could hold his own. The weapons concealed on his person weighed on him. How easy it would be to kill them both now. It would help his ego to feel better, but for now the man would remain still. He would stop, listen, and observe. He had to trust Deiliha now, and remind himself that it would all be worth it when he was back home.

It ate at the angel for her to speak of him in such a way, but she knew it was the only way to keep the demon in front of her from suspecting them. She did not have time to repair Sam's pride with works but she reached behind her allowing her hand to brush across his arm as she tilted her head slightly signaling him so come in with her. She fallowed behind Damien say not much of anything more listening to him rabble on about what he had been up to. For her it went in one ear and out the other demons where all the same feeding off sins and creating chaos where ever they saw fit. He was no different and his stories where ones he had heard so many times, it was honestly something that bored her until he turned and asked “So you’re looking for your hubby to be? I’m afraid he doesn’t want to be bothered right now. Can I take a message for him?”

She narrowed her eyes knowing he was withholding the information for a reason she could only guess was his own benefit. Huffing she rolled her eyes speaking in a annoyed told as the dark aura she had adapted as demon began to spread from her pores around the room causing the demon to look at her and smirk “What do you want in exchange for the information?” all demons couldn’t just do things for free, no it was always a give and take but normally what was given was nowhere near what was taken. She held that thought in her mind as he spoke about his price.

“Well you see telling you where to find the king is going to put my hide on the line, so I need a hide in return. Your pet maybe?” laughing he turned “That’s it I will take your pretty pet, he smells so yummy after all.” She seemed to move in a blur speed that only a demon or angel could have pulled off, a knife held to his throat as she growled out “The location now and I won’t skin your hide of maybe you could explain to dear old daddy why you kept his wife to be away from him. do you think that would not end up with you being flayed on the third floor of hell?” the anger laced in her voice cause the dark power about them to jump, power seeping from her pores as the darkness began to take her eyes.

Sam didn't understand Deiliha's reaching for him. Was she trying to tell him something? Did she feel bad for putting him down? Sam wasn't going to accept her apology, but she wouldn't be able to see that anyway. She was forced to concentrate on the new demon, paying no mind to him.

The man tried to listen, suddenly intrigued by demon culture. This demon was a narcissist, that much was clear, but Sam didn't mind it. He wanted to learn the things that they didn't teach in the Academy. If he was to be working with demons, learning their culture could only benefit him. So he listened as this stranger spoke. It was clear Deiliha wasn't, maybe she was too fed up with her own kind. But if that were the case, why would she bother helping him? Sam realized the more he thought on it, the more it wouldn't make sense. So he shoved it to the back of his mind.

The demon turned to him again, and he threatened to take him. Sam certainly didn't like the sound of that, but he kept quiet. Would Deiliha save him? He kept a blank expression, and soon the demon was off of him. He was held back now, a knife to his throat. Just the sight of that brought a smile to his face. He smirked at the helpless demon. Did Deiliha have such power like this? He supposed being the fiance of the devil had its perks. Sam turned to Deiliha. "Only the third floor?" he toyed, though he knew better than to continue. Sam stepped away and let the demons take care of their own problems. He would just reap the benefits.

He couldn’t help but stammer when he responded “H…e is… at... th...e castle...” she huffed and regardless of the information he had given her she slit his throat a grin spreading on his face as he hands shot up to his throat. He tried to laugh gurgling out “your reputation proceeds you my lady…” he fell over on the floor as she glared at him, wiping his blood on his shirt.

She started towards the door her mood clearly gone dark “Come on Sam.” She didn’t even flinch while killing him but she also knew he was nothing but a slimy worm beneath her. She had learned early on in her time spent in hell not to leave survivor’s. It was one quality that had put her apart from the others and caught the devil himself attention. She could be cold and vicious, before she felt the tickle of humanity return to her she felt nothing but the blood lust and the violence. Even now the smell of blood excited her inner darkness and she hated herself for it more then she could even understand.

She had already made it to the car getting in and glaring as she waited for Sam, she wasn’t mad at him but more in deep thought about how she hated what she had become. Even now she could feel the human heart in her chest screaming from the aftermath but she was so used to it that she tuned it out and began to let it eat away at her mind. After all that was exactly what she was a demon planning to over throw but heaven and hell for the small chance of her freedom.

Sam visibly flinched when Deiliha went ahead and killed the demon anyway. He knew she was a demon, knew that she was used to the kill, but he wasn't expecting her to actually do it. He knew flinching was a bad move on his part, but he couldn't control it. Sam had only ever witnessed one murder before, his own, and it had been an accident. It had been a boy falling to his death, in the water, not slashed at the throat. The sight of all that blood stilled him. He'd seen it before, in films and books and the like, but this... this was real.

Sam didn't hesitate following her out. He didn't want to be in this place anymore, and the sooner he was away from it the happier he would be. He got into a car and for a long while didn't say a word. He was processing what had just occurred, trying to make himself calm down. He couldn't look this frantic over one little death, the death of a demon. He was posing as a man with a demonic attitude; he couldn't be showing his angelic colors now.

After a while in silence, Sam finally made noise. He cleared his throat, but didn't look at the demon beside him. "Was that the smartest idea?" he asked, a genuine concern in his voice. "I mean, he was your informant, wasn't he? Why would you just kill him like that? That seemed unwarranted. I trust you, I know you know what you're doing, but don't you think this free-spirited thing might get us into more trouble than it's worth? I don't know about demon culture, but angels are valuable, and losing even one makes us all upset. We're closer than you are, I know that, but that was... that was cold. That makes sense. It just seems like a waste of resources."

she hated that he flinched but part of her knew he was still an angel at heart yet she still ended up beating herself up for tainting his light with her own darkness. In the process of her mind telling her to give him the apartment and go back to hell to take a breather he spoke up about shouldn’t she have left the demon alive. Listing of reasons he thought the demon should have been left alive she couldn’t help but shake her head and chuckle softly “Your such an angel darling. Demons aren’t worth anything to anyone and in fact the less of us running amuck up here the better. Besides the fact killing him set his human slaves free it also covers our tracks. Demons are sneaky and you alone had his attention meaning even as a human he could still sense your light, plus us looking for the devil himself causes warrant for suspicion. So, he would have either come for us or talked to someone who would have making our trip more of a mess and we lose the element of surprise all together. So, no he didn’t need to live, in another decade or so he will have dug his way out again. After all, when you kill a where else would they go but back to hell?”

she was shocked to find an angel concerned about killing a demon shouldn’t they be all for taking out the darkness that tainted the earth their own god had created in light. Yet here her kind was mucking it up and dragging the humans away from the path of light down the road of darkness. The thought made her take a deep inhale pulling her dark aura back to her instead of spreading all around, the adrenaline from the fight had made her power shoot through the roof and even a human could sense a certain amount of dark power. She might still have human traits but at the end of the day she had also clawed her way from hell and earned enough respect and attention to warrant the devils interest, that alone was something that should worry the angel in her car.

She had spent many night beating herself up of the darkness that kept her alive but after some time she had swallowed the self-pity and learned to freeze it over with a lot of other emotions she no longer seemed to be able to find. She had tried before testing which emotions she could and could not hold on to and what she had found was nothing she didn’t expect. She could remember human things and feel laughter and humor but she got stuck in the anger, pain and sadness. She had even tried to live like a human once and she quickly learned a demon cannot go back to being human. A demon cannot feel things such as love or true joy as hard as she tried something in her wouldn’t allow it.

She was upset again. Sam sighed at himself, at his impressive ability to disappoint everyone around him. He listened to the demon go on about all the reasons she was right, but Sam still was not particularly convinced. Even if he would be back in a few years, there was just something about the mindless murder that did not sit well with him. He didn't understand demon culture even still, and didn't know why the demon would have wanted to mess with them, but again, he figured Deiliha had to know best.

He noticed that they still hadn't started. Was that because of him? Figuring he couldn't distract her driving if it hadn't yet happened, Sam decided to press on. "But what about the war?" He motioned towards the sky, then towards the ground. "If we really are going to be starting an uprising, Deiliha, we're going to need some manpower on our side. No, this war won't be one of just brawn, but we'll need some forces. There are a hell of a lot of angels up there, and they'll all gladly bear arms against us now. We're going to need demons willing to fight them back, or perhaps forced to fight them back. Either way..."

Sam shook his head. Maybe there really was no use in arguing this. They were going to win the war regardless. Along with an army of beings that lived for the kill, their side had two people who knew the workings of the enemy side. There was no way they would lose, except... Sam mulled over his idea, then nodded to himself. It wouldn't hurt to lose a demon here and there. In the end, it would only aid him in his quest to get back home.

She listened to his plan but hers had been one in the complete opposite direction “your hoping for an army? That’s kind of farfetched. I was thinking we just needed to be the stones that tipped the scale. Angels and demons just need a reason to start fighting and once it starts they will fight on their own so we do not need an army just a well executed plan, so far my plan is to see the devil and plant some seeds to start the fighting. As for that demon IV had a bone to pick with him long before he was interested in you. He was one of the many who tormented the humanity out of my soul.”

She started the car and went to pull out starting the drive home, she didn’t feel much like driving but she knew the angel sure couldn’t drive them home. With the fire burning in her stomach she would much rather be doing something to ease the rage instead of sitting in the car explaining why that demon needed to die. He felt bad for a demon she could not imagine how he was going to take the many deaths that where bound to happen speaking once more to clear her thoughts “If you can’t take the death of one demon who I might point out was threatening your life then there is no way you’re going to be able to start this war. In order for it to start there are going to be deaths and as the death toll gets higher the less like an angel you’re going to feel. Are you prepared for that?”

If he wasn’t she was willing to give him the chance to back out but she wasn’t going to offer it for long after all the original idea had been a good one. If need be she would carry it out alone for the sake of her freedom and the hope of sanity.

Sam narrowed his eyes. Deiliha was not getting his point. The angels and the demons would be fighting for themselves, of course, but they needed numbers for their plan to be successful. But he let it go, not wanting to prolong this argument any more.

They finally got driving. Sam was silent for a while, thinking things over. She started speaking again, and Sam looked up at her with a curious look in his eye. She was not getting him at all. Her question weighed heavy on him, but he set it aside for now. "Listen," he said evenly. "I can take the death of one demon. I don't care that he died. He's a demon. He's been my enemy all my life. I just think it might have been a bad move logically. Emotionally, morally, it was a good move. It rid the world of another demon. But we need numbers so that we will be able to take on angelkind."

Sam let out a large sigh. He didn't want to continue this conversation, but Deiliha's question was still a very serious one. If this was a proper war, people would die. Demons would lose their lives--but so would angels. Sam might even see some of his friends die in this. Was he ready for that? Yes, he decided. It would be worth it. He would get back to heaven, and this age-old war would finally end. The angels would win.

she chuckled and shook her head “That’s why I’m taking you to see the devil himself, her had the power and the numbers not only that but that demon got sent right back to hell. There are few ways to truly kill a demon obviously and that wasn’t one of them. If he is one we truly need all you have to do is convince the devil of your crazy plan and then he will be found at our aid.”

She could tell the angel was become irritated with the difference in the plans but she knew things he did not and for this to reach her own goal as well as his she needed to play it a very certain way. Next step would before her to take him with her to her castle in the depths of the underworlds and then take him to see the devil himself but she had to figure out a way to do it without causing suspicion. He did not smell of sin and that would raise more questions then they needed while down stairs. It would also provoke demons to act in a wilder manner. A pure human was like a drug to a demon and the smell alone could drive them mad, the urge to make them sin was so hard that even it had crossed her mind but she kept herself restrained knowing the small amount of human in her would fade if she partook in a pure soul such as himself.

Her resolve finally came up with an idea “Darlin you’re going to have to sin at least once before I can take you downstairs. I can’t take you down as you are now that would risk too much on both mine and your part. I can’t take part in your sin so at that point it has to be something you do on your own.” She couldn’t risk what she had left of her soul for him not when her own sin weighed so heavy on her mind. Demons thrived on souls but fed on the sin and she had to do the same but she had a line and that line was one she would never cross again.

Sam looked over this demon with a confusion in his eyes. She spoke so suddenly, and he did not know what to make of her words. "I have sinned," he said, and he had. The murder he had committed had been grave enough to land him on earth. It had been grave enough to send him on a path only Lucifer had followed before. Was that not a sin enough for the devil himself? Sam would think that more than qualified him for anything old Lucifer would want.

But... What if it wasn't enough? Sam wouldn't even know what his sin would be. Gluttony and sloth didn't quite fit him. He wasn't terribly envious nor lustful either. Greed, wrath, pride... Which one was his? Which would be the easiest to fake? Or would he truly need to commit something? Sam hadn't thought of that. Maybe he'd steal something. Surely he could get away with that. He could binge eat for a while, or be lazy, or something. Nothing would compare to the first sin he'd committed.

He shook his head. "Maybe you forgot I'm a murderer." He turned away from her and sighed. "Murder is one of the worst, isn't it? I'm already up there, dove, so I don't think we have anything to worry about. If you're so concerned, I could finally live out my dream lifestyle and do what I want, not what Adainmelhye wants. It sounds refreshing, in a way."

she listened to him and huffed he didn’t seem to understand the way her mind went about things maybe that was the difference between an angel and a demon they were all lead to believe one magic thing and she believed in pretty much nothing anymore. Parking the car out front of a small dinner she looks at the dimly lit building “You are probably hungry. I forget humans need to eat more then I do. I’ll explain once inside.” As if on cue she got out of the car and walked into the diner. If nothing else she could go for a cup of coffee. Once Sam came in she planned on explaining everything to him.

Once he entered and sat down she sighed “You sinned this is true but that sin cast you down here you lost both your grace and your wings. That sin has been atoned for in the fact that you are here you in a sense already went downstairs as the humans say about going to hell. You still smell like pure innocence so for you to go into hell and not draw the attention of every demon there you will need to do something that will wash away at least a little of your angelic light. “she looked at the table picking at one of the rolls of silver ware “Honestly, I like you this way but I know taking you downstairs like this is a risk you can’t afford to take if you really want to start a war between both heaven and hell. Regardless of what you really wish to do with it doesn’t matter. At the end of this I plan to be free again.” She knew the last part didn’t make much sense and she hadn’t really meant for it to slid out of her mouth but her mind was going faster than it needed to. Part of her could already taste the freedom she was planning towards.

They were suddenly outside of a diner. Sam looked it over and raised a brow. Hunger--right. That was something he was supposed to be feeling as a mortal now, but as Sam smelled the fast food and the coffees from within the small building, he could not feel hunger. In light of everything on his mind, everything he'd had to experience today and everything he would come to experience, he could not form an appetite.

Inside, the smells were actually making him sick. When he'd visited earth before, he was used to natural foods, not caked in oils. He shook his head. "Nothing will ever make up for what I've done," he said in a low tone. He was staring down at the table, deep in thought. True his wings and halo and purity were now gone, but that did not make up for anything. That boy was still dead, and that would never change. He let out a long sigh. "If they need me to do something else, it won't be a problem. I can manage. I've done it before, and I can do it just as easily again."

But her last words, they caused him to look up. His concentrated, mournful expression was gone. "You intend to be free?" he said, trying to pry. "Free from what? You said yourself demons just become demons again, so how could you be free?"

She sighed deciding they were getting nowhere with this conversation he was convinced he was a stone cold sinner and that was that but as everyone knew she was once human and as a imperfect human she sinned often, it was something that explained to her mind why she was the demon she was. They would have to figure out something for him to do that wouldn’t destroy him inside.

She regretted not having a filter on her mind allowing her to speak when she shouldn’t, so she handled it leaning forward her eyes staring into his “I know you say you want revenge on heaven the reason you want that revenge is because they stole your wings and grace right? Well if I could fly and soar through the clouds feeling the sun on my back I would imagine it would feel exactly like freedom. So in a way your wings where your freedom.” Leaning back she smiled something that truly shined in her eyes as she spoke about the one thing she wanted most “I am supposed to marry the devil become one of his brides out of many. He spawns demons from them because they are purer then we are. He is trying to make the perfect demon slowly going up the chain in purifying their blood. I don’t want to be one more of his brood mares I want to go on living the life I have now as a demon I can’t fully be human again but by the grace of who ever I kept just enough of my human side to know who I am and I still have enough humanity to make me want to live my life my way.”

She knew he may not truly understand a demon who didn’t want the honor as the others called it of marrying the devil. Yet here she was trying to explain it as best as she could even if it made little sense to him it made all the sense to her.

Sam did dearly miss his wings, the freedom they offered. He turned away from her and contemplated it. He had never quite been free; he had never graduated from the Academy and therefore was always under Headmaster Ursupala's command. But when he visited earth, those brief moments when there were no other angels with him, he could fly as he pleased, do what he wanted, live his own life. And he had ruined that.

Sam shook his head and looked back to the demon. He tried to understand what she was trying to explain to him, but demon culture wasn't something he had been taught. He thought it over, then shrugged his shoulders a bit. "You don't want to marry the guy," he said, working things out. "If that's the case, why don't you get away from him? If I needed to get away from Adainmelhye, I would do something really bad, commit some mortal sin. So, to get away from Lucifer, would you have to do some kind acts? I don't know exactly how that works, but what do they do with demons who are too nice? Surely they wouldn't keep them around. And if angels can lose their angelhood, I'm willing to bet you can lose your demonhood too."

He figured it would be a process, all of it. If Deiliha could lose her demonhood, how would it work? If she continued to be nice, would Lucifer get tired of her and cast her away? Or would he just kill her, wipe his hands of her? Obviously the girl was unhappy now; wasn't it worth a try? And what better reason to be thrown out of hell than to be helping an angel get back home?

"I think it's something to think about," he said with another shrug. "Maybe you'd stop looking all mopey if you could get away from the man. And I'm certain there are ways to do that. We'll find them, yeah? My payment for you helping me."

She sighed allowing for a moment his thoughts to warm her mind however she had heard tale once of what happened to demons who tried to regain humanity. He was an angel being demoted to a human was a severe punishment for an angel well for a demon as herself it would only serve to allow her to be dragged deeper into the pits then she dared to venture. It was said that a demon who went against the demon way was to be tortured once again until their soul was devoured by the darkness that was hell itself. The lowest point was demon so the only lower you could go was a mindless slave to saten himself on which you would never go topside again for he wouldn’t risk the humanity returning.

Sighing she takes a sip of coffee the waitress had sat down for then before wandering off again to go about cleaning this place that looked as if it would never truly be clean. Running a hand through her hair allowing him to believe he had given her some sort of false hope “So tell me what sin do you want to try. I can help as much as I can for I truly don’t wish to dull what light you have left but I must cover it somehow. “

She truly didn’t understand how a creature of evil and darkness could enjoy the ray of light that came from him but she knew when he was around she felt more human then she had normally felt. She was yet to determine if that was a good or a bad thing. After all, wouldn’t she need her darkness to achieve their goals. Her eyes met his as she waited for his response wondering what he would say perhaps he would choose the sin that plagues her or perhaps he would choose something altogether different.

Sam watched the demon as she contemplated his words. Was she even exercising the idea, or was their some unspoken rule in demon culture that she didn't want to tell him about? He turned down to the table and tried thinking things over for himself. If she helped him get back home, maybe it wouldn't be up to Lucifer to decide what he did with her. Maybe... Maybe Adainmelhye would claim her. And if that were the case, would she be turned into an angel? He looked back to her, wondering if such a thing was possible. She'd be away from her fiance, but at what cost?

She spoke, a complete change of subject. Sam shrugged his shoulders. "I was thinking," he said. "But I want your opinion. What's the easiest to commit quickly? Pride and wrath, those would take too long, wouldn't they? Envy, lust, I don't think I could do those. Gluttony seems easy, or sloth, maybe even greed." He tried to think of his personality. He was none of those, an angel could possess no mortal sin, but then, he wasn't exactly an angel anymore. He looked at Deiliha again. "I think a few of those could be a little fun."

Especially lust, he was thinking. As an angel he'd never been able to explore the human love that countless tales told of. Was it as magical as all the songs sang? But if he were to lust after someone, who would it be? He looked at the demon in front of him and laughed out loud. Ptarsameal, with a demon. He didn't need to give heaven more reason to never let him back. Besides, getting with this demon would jeopardize his chances of getting on Lucifer's good side. So he tried to think of something else.

"I was thinking gluttony," he said. "It's a good start, right? How hard can it be?"

Laughter caught her attention as he tried to figure out a sin just for him like he was picking through a shelf of books tilting her head slightly she decides to ask, “Care to share the joke?” she raised on dark eyebrow as a smirk crossed her lips when he spoke about the sin he seemed to decide on rolling her eyes she speaks “Any sin can be easy to commit and its even easier than you think to do them without even noticing or blinking an eye. “she wasn’t so certain that he would make a glutton but she wasn’t one to talk about that sin for it wasn’t her own sin. Thinking of ideas maybe she could take him to a bar and give him his first taste of human liquor that should make it easier for him to commit a sin then he even realized booze was more the devils magic than anything else and humans loved the stuff.

Deciding to voice her idea out loud just to test the waters and see what he thought “I don’t imagine they have booze in heaven so what would you say to a little outing. We could go to the club and drink a few drinks to loosen you up and then we will see where that goes from there. It’s a lot harder to pick out a sin you wish to commit then it is to just go out and do it. It should loosen you up just enough to make it simple for you to do what needs done. Plus, there are plenty of humans to there to show you how it is done even quite a few lonely ladies.” She smiled at the last part but on the inside, it slowly started to grate her. She had said it for she knew an angel would see nothing in a creature of darkness such as herself but the idea of him finding a human woman to bed with seemed to flick her nerve but she held composure and showed no sign of discomfort.

Sipping on her coffee she waits for him to think of her idea and figure out if that is a road he would like to take.

Deiliha seemed curious as to why Sam was laughing, but the man wasn't about to confide that yet. He simply waved her off, then shrugged and stared at the people around them. He didn't know how "easy" the sins would be to him, someone born and raised in perfect purity. Of course she would say as much, she were a demon after all, but surely some sins would be harder for him than others. It would be easier to steal than to murder. At the thought, Sam turned his attention to the ground. Murder, he'd already taken care of that one.

He shook his head and looked at her again. "Booze?" he repeated. Sam had had booze before, and he hated the stuff. Angels didn't get drunk, so he'd drank just to taste, and had been disappointed with what he'd received. He did remember that it made men do stupid things, but Sam wasn't too excited about losing control of himself. He didn't want to commit something grave. How would that sit on his conscience? He raised a brow when the demon mentioned ladies. Did Deiliha want him to...? Sam turned away at that. Well, it was supposed to be fun. Was he into that? He wasn't sure, and didn't know if he'd want to find out.

The ex-angel thought on it for a while. He considered it while he scanned the people around him, then brought his eyes back to Deiliha. "Okay," he finally said. "How bad can it be? Just make sure I don't put myself in danger, alright?"

He thought it over and she watched as the training from being an angel kicked in not knowing what path to fallow or how he felt about it. He had a human soul and body now but that did little to change his brain after all you spend long enough telling a child it was worthless the more they grow up believing that its true and then thought becomes reality and they are forever labeled completely worthless and useless to others. She chuckled at the thought knowing exactly what that felt like for in her human life she was just that, worthless.

He agreed and told her to not allow him to be in danger she raised a eyebrow at him a smile playing across her lips “I couldn’t allow you to die darling that would not do me any good.” Getting up and setting money down on the table “shall we?”

She knew it was bad of her but she was curious what would the angel have to tell her when his tongue was loosened by alcohol. She had never seen a human old enough to drink with a clean sleight so watching how he would act make for an interesting experience. Would he see her as more of a demon or less when his eyes became clouded? Would he want her? How would she react to him wanting her? things she shouldn’t think about forcing her mind to silence she walked out to the car pulling a cigarette from her pocket lighting it with a small blue flame coming from the tip of her thumb. Leaning against the car she watched the night sky waiting for the angel to begin his ride to hell.

He could tell the demon was thinking on something, but he couldn't tell what. She was right: letting him kill himself because he was drunk would get her nowhere. Maybe she really did have to keep him alive, especially if his earlier thoughts were going to come to fruition. Saving a demon soul... Could such a thing really be done? Would such a thing really earn him his wings back? He figured it was good to have two plans. If talking to Luci and gaining his loyalty didn't work, he could always focus his attention on Deiliha instead.

They were leaving, and Sam followed the demon. Was she intending to take him to get drunk now? He tried to remember the anatomy of it, how alcohol was consumed and absorbed by a human body. He hated anatomy, though, and soon grew bored with his own thoughts. "You're taking me to a bar?" he asked, hating that they were going back to the car. He watched, curiously, as Deiliha lit her own cigarette. Smoking, another thing he'd hated. He never understood why the humans intentionally did things to harm their inner organs, but then, maybe now he could understand. Maybe the drug's effects would finally be felt by him. He nudged Deiliha slightly. "Got an extra light?" he asked.

A smoker and a drinker. It was almost funny, watching himself come to this. He had to keep reminding him that it was all for a purpose, that soon he would be returned to the pure being he once was. For now he just had to hold out, and let the bad habits claim him.

She raised an eyebrow as he asked her for a light implying he wanted a cigarette “I don’t think you’ll like it but it truly isn’t my place to stop you.” Handing him her lit cigarette she chuckles “no point in lighting two if we aren’t certain you can take a whole one. Yes I plan on taking you to the bar, I figure I’ll sit back and let you do your thing if you need my help I shall help you, but I don’t want to hang around you it would run off potential scenarios that would open the door for you to do what needs to be done.”

She hated the way they were planning on forcing this angel to sin to taint his soul with the darkness that surrounded her but she made certain to keep that to herself after all where would it get her to care for the enemy of her kind? If he had his wings he would end her without even thinking about it and he would probably take her out once he could. She needed to step back from this man for he seemed to be drawing out more human emotions from her then she had found on her own and even now she wanted to be around him scaring off the woman who would no doubt come to his side hoping to end up in his bed.

This was both confusing and disturbing to her after all she had not been attached to someone since she was actually human and the thought of being attached to an angel made her fear for her own sanity. It clouded her judgment and she had no doubt if she did not keep herself in check it would cause her to act out of character and create a riot between him and the devil or even one of hells spies all they needed was one window of weakness and they would not hesitate to use that to destroy her. Sighing she reaching out ruffling his hair before turning a climbing into the car, before the door shut she spoke “just toss that when you are done. I don’t smoke in the car.”

Sam looked over the cigarette curiously. It smelled awful, and the way its smoke filled the air reminded him of a story of hell he'd heard once. Truly, he thought, this was something born of hell, this poison he was to spill in his mouth. Sam sighed, and he breathed in on the stick. The taste that filled his mouth made him want to vomit, but instead he felt a coughing fit come up. Sam winced as the spasms shook him, but he soon calmed down. He glanced towards Deiliha and tried again, figuring he had just done it wrong. He took another breath, and he could feel a fire crawling down his throat. It made its way to his lungs, and he stayed, uncomfortable, for a long moment before finally breathing out.

It took a moment, but the high did come to him. There was an elation that came with this drug, some cloud nine feeling that lasted all too short. He cocked his head at the tube in his hand, wondering how something bad could feel good, if only for a short while. Was that it? He tossed the cigarette then, its purpose fulfilled. His lungs felt warm, his breath felt foul. He'd smoked his first, for better or worse.

Sam then hesitated. He didn't know what to make of his act. An angel would never take something like a cigarette, but there he had been. Maybe his purity was all lost. He shook his head. There was no time to think on that. He looked back to the driver. "Thanks," he said. "Now we try some bourbon, huh? Isn't this an exciting day." That was one word for it.

She laughed as he named hard liquor but she didn’t correct him after all tonight would be a learning experience for the angel. She had started the car and when he climbed in it didn’t take long for her to take off into the night. They drove for a time and she didn’t say very much as her mind played over the different things that could happen and how she would watch the angel from a distance after all he didn’t need her to be around for the sins he would likely fall into himself.

She wasn’t certain it was the thought of not wanting to be in the way or the thought of him picking a woman from the bar and taking her to his bed he was an angel after so did that mean he wouldn’t even know what to do with himself? Blinking that thought away for that wasn’t a road she needed to go down.

They pulled into a city turning down side streets where the crowds went from none too many in the span of four blocks. She knew this club like the back of her hand after all this was one of her hunting grounds, pulling up she parks the car and looks at the angel “Let’s go have an adventure.” Chuckling she got out of the car and walked to the club she expected him to fallow her example as she spoke to the bouncer and he let her slip inside. She had charmed him into letting the angel in as well but she didn’t want him to feel chained to her once the fun began.

The bar was a dark setting multicolored lights flashing as music seemed to hum through the floors and walls, the bar was against the back wall behind the dance floor with the DJ on the stand at the front of the club. So many bodies rubbed against one another dancing the music as if it was traveling through them. It was a feeling she knew well and she allowed the smooth motions to get her to the bar where she ordered a shot of vodka along with a beer to go with it. The padding of the leather stool was at least comfortable enough while she sat back and waited to see how this would progress.

Sam followed Deiliha all the way to a club of sorts. It was more modern than Sam was used to, with the bright lights and the loud hip-hop. The smell of alcohol greeted him, a smell he could remember from his angel days on earth. Brown eyes swept the room, looking over the very different people. It was dark, a little too dark to make out all their features. They were all moving about, some completely wasted, some relatively sober. Sam took a moment to gather more information about his surroundings. Then, he followed the demon's example, sat down at the bar, and ordered two straight shots of vodka.

When the glasses finally came out, Sam looked into the clear liquid. He didn't fancy the smell of it, but this was definitely a step up from the cigarette from earlier. He took in a breath, slowly exhaled, then downed the first shot in one large gulp. This, too, tasted like fire, and he winced as it crawled down his throat. He looked at the second one a long time before taking that, too. Sam wondered if there was supposed to be some instant effect, if he was still okay to walk or talk. He cleared his throat and walked over to the dance floor feeling fine.

Within minutes he was out of view, mingling with the people at the club. He talked with anyone who was willing to talk back, and watched as a few drunk people obviously flirted with him. It was something Sam was not used to at all, but he had to admit, the attention was nice. Eventually he made his way back to the bar, ordered more alcohol, and rejoined the dance floor. Within minutes he had his arm around a woman he didn't know. The alcohol was starting, slowly, to have effects. His woman playfully pecked at his neck, and Sam pecked back, seemingly good at flirting. After more alcohol, his single woman turned into two, a pair of drunk broads following him like puppies. He danced with them, grinding against their bodies, and having far more fun than he thought he would. He didn't even know how much alcohol he'd had by the time he started getting handsy, though he was still alert enough to stop himself. Pausing, Sam wondered if he should bother stopping himself at all. Why not go all the way, he thought. So, after dancing some more, he pulled a redhead into an embrace, and started making out in the middle of the dance floor. He'd completely forgotten about Deiliha, about his goal, about everything other than this woman, the music, and the shining lights.

She watched him down drink after drink and he seemed to be having more fun than he expected to have but then again she knew once he went down this path that he would realize just how human he had become. He seemed to have found some drunken girls to fondle and grind up against and she merely rolled her eyes and took another drink. She had slipped into the dancing crowd when he started sucking faces with a redhead and she smirked. She would find out if he held any interest for her, the thought both worried and excited her.

She found a man just in the line of his view when his eyes opened he would see the lovely demon dancing with a grace that was held by someone who spent years dancing. Her hips seemed for flow with the music as her body flowed with the dark haired man she leaned against. She knew his human senses would pick up the faint trace of vanilla for it was one thing she had wore for years for she loved the scent and the way it mixed into the air around them. Her eyes were closed for she needed to seem uninterested in his affairs. For she needed to see if she could still catch his attention.

Part of her wasn’t really certain why she cared if he wanted her or not but the other part of her just flowed with it for over the years she had learned to not fight things as they came even if the things where a fire of jealousy rumbling through your stomach. He wasn’t hers so she didn’t understand herself but she liked the angel that much she knew he was pure and in a lot of ways sweet. Something that in a world of darkness it was nice to have a little light with you.

He didn't notice the demon step onto the dance floor for a long time. Sam was preoccupied with the people flocking around him, suddenly interested in this new boy who could dance. But when he finally did notice her, he stopped to watch for a moment. Human lust grabbed hold of him, and he wandered over to her.

When Sam reached Deiliha, he blinked hard and looked around. What was he doing? He could not afford to be mingling with the devil's plaything, no matter how drunk he was. He shook his head and looked for some excuse to come this way. Deiliha was dancing with a man in the middle of a bunch of people. Surely Sam could have grabbed any one of them, but he unintentionally went for the one that would probably upset Deiliha the most.

When the demon parted from her dance partner, Sam moved in. He grabbed the hands of the man she'd been dancing with and took her place. The man seemed dumbfounded for a moment, but it soon faded, replaced by a new drunken lust. Sam realized, man or woman, he still had fun out here. In a few more moments, he was kissing this guy too. When he sobered, he would definitely color at the memory.

The man went away after a while. Sam wandered back to the bar, but he decided against another drink. He instead looked for Deiliha. When he fund her he approached her. "I don't know why angels don't do this," he said, speaking oddly steadily for someone who had drunk as much as he had. "This is real fun, yeah, we should do this again, maybe even invite Luci next time, I think he'll enjoy some, uh, dancing with us, yeah?" He laughed at whatever joke he thought he'd told. "You don't look like you're having fun. Cheer yourself, demon as beautiful as you can't be frowning like--like that, not while a guy like me is 'round. So smile. We're having fun. Right?"

The angel approached her and her eyes locked with his but he blinked and came to his senses not quite drunk enough to want the demons full attention but she could sense he did want her or at least the liquor made him pretty much want anyone. She parted from the man watching as the angel began dancing like a women with a purpose and as soon as he locked lips with a man she laughed walking back to the bar shaking her head. that angel was definitely something and as minor as it seemed he had tainted himself at least enough to get them through the door between lust and the gluttony of human liquor.

Sitting back at the bar she watched and waited for him to come to her and after a while he did just that seeming to mentally tell himself no to more liquor and for that she could at least respect him. then he came over a cracked a joke about old luci and she rolled her eyes deciding against telling him the devil did what he wanted there was no need for him to come to a human party and dance like a drunken fool. Deciding to pick on him she said “why so you can kiss him to?”

Then he talked about her not having fun and she smiled and leaned towards him “Oh Sammy, I am having fun with you.” she couldn’t help but smile he was still so light and when he was drunk he seemed so much happier than he did regularly. Standing she rolls her shoulder stretching her back “Shall we go darling?”

Sam seemed to take a moment to understand her joke. He then thought back to Deiliha's dance partner, the man he'd stolen and made out with. "Someone sounds jealous," he said pouting. Sam gently nudged her. "Imagine that, an angel locking lips with the devil himself. We're both heaven drop-outs, I think we were made for each other. Maybe we... we do have some chemistry after all--!"

He colored when she called him Sammy, though he couldn't guess why. Sam turned away, not liking the heat under his skin. "I'm having fun too," he said slowly, thinking over his words. Deiliha mentioned leaving, even called him darling. He turned to look at her, but it seemed as if he were looking past her. "It's time to go?" he said. His voice was soft, sad. "Oh no it isn't."

His mind wandered to just moments before, to her jealousy, or what a drunken Sam assumed was jealousy, at his having kissed someone else. She was giving him pet names and using an alluring tone. She wanted him, he could tell, and Sam couldn't remember why he was holding back. Throwing caution to the wind, he grabbed her and tipped her. He pressed his lips to her sloppily, passionately. He moaned the tiniest bit, giving himself to this kiss.

Sam didn't know why he did it. Maybe it was to prove that he could, both to himself and to Deiliha. Maybe it was just for fun. Maybe this was the best way he could think to taint his no longer purified record. Whatever his reasoning had been initially, Sam threw that aside too, and he kissed her because he meant it. Because, demon or not, this woman had been the only one to be kind to him at all since he'd been thrown out of his home. This was the woman he wanted to show his appreciation to.

As he pouted she couldn’t help but grin light dancing in her eyes it was cute to see him pout like a toddler who didn’t get what they wanted. Then the flush of red under his cheek only made her insides even happier he was blushing because she had given him a pet name and she was certain he would grow to like it.

She had initially turned to leave when he said it wasn’t time to go and grabbed her pulling her to him and tipping her back like an old romantic movie. His lips locked with her and the shock was plain on her face. She felt him let himself go and she couldn’t contain the fires inside her for she had wanted to be the women kissing him earlier but she knew better then to force herself on someone.

His kiss was a drunken kiss sloppy at first but it seemed to build an emotion and moan slid from his lips and straight down her spine. She kissed him back the hunger for him was strong as was the way he brought out more of the human side of her. She didn’t understand why she wanted him but she knew she did he made her feel things she had tortured out of her over the years. Her tongue slid against his bottom lip as she draped her arms around his neck allowing the desire she had felt before pour into the kiss. It felt like wild fire for her to be kissing him something inside her seemed to need this. Contact of true emotions and not just a quick in and out.

She had shifted so they were standing and she pulled back breaking the kiss her eyes meeting his, moving her hand to his cheek allowing her thumb to brush the side of his cheek. Confusion clouded her eyes but she seemed to shake it off “we don’t have to go then, would you like to dance with me?” her voice was low and her eyes didn’t meet his for long before dropping. She felt the heat rise through her body but she knew if he kept pushing in the direction he was he would do something in the morning he would regret.

Deiliha was kissing him back. Even as drunk as he was, he could tell that. And, he had to admit, he quite liked that. The way she felt as she gave herself to him, it was almost as intoxicating as the alcohol. But then, she pulled away, and in that moment Sam could finally stop to consider everything. He was locking lips with a demon, with a literal demon. He was an angel, or at least that was how he was born and raised. Mingling with the enemy would be an understatement, now. He was making out with her, and yet, he was enjoying it.

After her question, Sam wordlessly got up and grabbed her hand. He led her to the dance floor. People surrounded them on all sides, dancing to some up-tune beat that Sam had never heard. He watched a few people for only a few seconds, then reinvented their moves with Deiliha. His drunkenness was apparently now; he was dancing too clumsily, and tripped too many times. Still he powered through, laughing at himself, making it fun for both of them.

In a short while, Sam could feel himself getting sick. He stopped moving and shook his head softly. "Deiliha," he murmured. "I think that's probably enough for tonight." Was there something more she wanted? Sam couldn't help but think her facial expression hinted at something else, some grander end to this night out. He tried to think to human culture, to what was standard for nights like this, but his thoughts were getting too foggy and he couldn't concentrate. He shook his head, but doing so made him feel more ill. "I think I need the toilet," he mumbled, and he took off in search of one.

He returned a few minutes later, seemingly fine. "Sorry," he said when he found Deiliha again. "I think my body is trying to tell me to stop dancing. Maybe... Maybe we could do something else. Why don't we go home?"

He pulled her to the dance floor and it felt almost like a game with him laughing something that ended up being contagious and making her laugh as well. Then he stopped and seemed to about to puke before she could help of even say much her had bolted off in search of a toilet he seemed to much need.

She had moved herself back to the bar ordering some water and when Sam came back she handed him the water “Drink some water or tomorrow you’re really going to regret this. Then we can go home Sammy.” She hadn’t meant for her voice to dip allowing his name to roll from her tongue. Waiting for him to drink the rest of the water she had sat back closing her eyes to keep her mind steady and keep herself in the right by this angel.

Getting up she gently took his hand and began leading him back out to the car deciding to break the tension she felt building “I’m going to drive slower than normal I really don’t want you to puke in the car that smell never comes out. As they got to the car she released him her eyes meting his for a moment causing her to pause and her tongue to dart out over her bottom lip. Turning around she blows the feeling of wanting to kiss him once more from her mind and heads for her side of the car. She couldn’t take this angel in the state he was in for in the morning she knew he would hate her for it and there would be no repairing that bridge.

Sam silently obeyed, drinking the water he was presented with. His hand slipped with the glass, causing water to lightly splash his shirt. He looked down and mumbled something inaudible, then continued to drink more steadily. She'd called him Sammy again, he seemed to notice, and a cute little smile appeared on his lips. He didn't comment on it, though, and only got up to leave when not a drop of water was left in his glass.

They walked back to the car, Deiliha leading him. When she let go, it dawned on him that drunk people were not to operate vehicles. He looked over Deiliha, wondering if this would be the day they died. The last people he'd see would be a demon, a demon he'd spent the night making out with. He shook his head and got in the car. If she were really going to drive slower, they'd be fine. Besides, Sam didn't have a choice. He'd never make it back in his current state alone.

Sam was good during the ride. He didn't throw up at all, and he hardly even spoke. He seemed concentrated on the sights out the window, all whizzing by faster than his drunken mind could process. Absently, he thought of what would happen when they got back to Deiliha's place, if they would do anything more. "Deiliha," he murmured, then sang her name again. "Are we going to do what usually happens when people get drunk? Because... I don't know if I know how to do that well--I mean, I know the techniques and everything, but the practice, that is, I haven't practiced, though maybe you could teach me..." He seemed very unfocused, almost as if he were rambling to himself.

She had been pulling into her garage when her name rolled off his lips, then he said it again as she had turned her eyes to him shutting the car off. He asked if they would end the night how a normal drunken party ended but she wasn’t going to be the mistake he woke up to.

She moved with her demon speed her legs straddled across his laps and her face barely a inch from his, there wasn’t room to move but that was fine she didn’t intend to move until her point was conveyed her voice was low as her eyes danced with the fire that had danced in them earlier that night “Sammy…. I will not take advantage of your drunken state. You would hate yourself in the morning if you bed with a demon. “ closing her eyes she sighed softly “I want you… don’t mistake that. You bring out something inside me I have not felt since I was nothing more than a human.”

Sighing once more her forehead against his she closed her eyes as if steadying her resolve moving she kissed his forehead and then looked into his eyes “if you would like you can stay in my bed with me but I will not go too far. After all you wouldn’t want to see a demon naked I might look like a old hag.” Chuckling at her own joke she opened his side of the car and moved to get out.

Suddenly Sam was being held against his will, this demon on top of him. This was the answer to his question, he supposed, but he hadn't anticipated her to begin now. Thoughts soared through his head. What was he supposed to do? How was he supposed to figured out what Deiliha liked? How well would he be able to fake the knowledge he'd need? As she looked at him, Sam figured he had the confidence. She said his nickname, and Sam was already pulling in for another kiss.

But he was stopped. He looked at her with confused brown eyes, wondering just what had changed. Had he gone in too fast, too slow? His drunk mind tried to process her words. Take advantage? But she wasn't taking advantage of him. He wanted this, or, well, he thought he did. Sam was more neutral about the matter, not particularly moved towards it but not against it either. He just figured that was a given, that they'd have to end with that. Wasn't that the logical process?

She moved off of him, and Sam only stayed there for a few moments. Finally, he opened his car door and stepped out, stumbling only a bit. Her words... She wanted him? He'd remember those in the morning. Sam went to catch up with Deiliha. He placed a hand on her arm. "I don't think you look like a hag," he said, not understanding that it was a joke. "Will you be alright in the same bed as me?" He glanced towards her home. Did demons have self-control? Was she just pretending to care about him? What if Sam did sleep in her bed, only to wake up to her wrapped around him anyway? "I'm sure I could... sleep on the couch, if you'd prefer. I don't mind."

She heard him and shrugged her shoulders “You can sleep where you wish I just offered my bed because it tend to be more comfortable then my couch. “ she knew he couldn’t understand where she was coming from refusing him while he was in this drunken state but she also had been human once and when you went to far all reasoning flew out the window leaving you to do many reckless things. Sleeping with her after him growing up as a angel would be one of those morning you wake up and your first thought would become what have I done?

He had started fallowing her as she headed up the stairs “would you be interested in some coffee Sammy?” She figured he may desire to sober up some before going to sleep. She also wasn’t sure how his body would handle a hangover. She had gotten upstairs knowing his answer didn’t much matter for wanted coffee herself. It was one thing she could still taste some flavors being a demon left her unable to experience and left her to hate human food but coffee was something she could taste for she liked it strong and dark.

She made her way to the kitchen going around doing the things she needed to do in order to make a good brew of late night coffee or in this case early morning coffee. She moved like it was a pattern something she had done a million times and It was. She had always enjoyed coffee granted it used to be sweeter with cream and sugar but no it was dark and bitter. She had learned to her disappointment she couldn’t really taste sugar and that tended to make everything bland and boring.

Sam cocked his head a bit at her. "Coffee?" he repeated, processing. "Coffee before bed?" That didn't make sense to him. Wouldn't that keep him awake? Sam shook his head, mumbling what might have been a thank-you. He followed her and watched as she made herself a cup. It was almost like she were dancing, and Sam was quite amused to watch her. When she did have her cup of coffee, Sam finally looked away.

After Deiliha took her first sip Sam figured it was time for him to go to bed. He nodded at nothing in particular, then wandered through the building in search of the bedroom. "Night," he called to Deiliha, though it was slurred and lacked the ending T sound. Sam stumbled into the bathroom, but in his state he didn't bother taking in his surroundings. He slipped out of his clothes and stood in nothing at all. With that, he finally collapsed onto the bed. Sam was snoring in mere seconds.

He had a fitful sleep, waking to turn every hour. He seemed to be dreaming, or, having a nightmare. Despite that, he slept for a long time. When he finally did wake, it took him a moment to readjust to the world around him. He looked down, at his bare body, and silent red flags rose in his head. What had he done? It was only a second later that he felt a physical pain like never before. He clutched his stomach helplessly and let out a small groan.

He stumbled off and she had watched him down the halls waiting to make sure he made it to his destination. Lifting the coffee to her lips she sighed and closed her eyes as she mentally patted herself on the back for keep her thought under control. It wasn’t long before she decided to check on the poor angel to find him naked and sprawled over her bed a soft chuckle escaped her lips as she went into the closet and pulled a blanket from the shelves covering the naked man. It was clear staying in the bedroom wasn’t going to be ideal for her and her self control. Turning she went out to the living room and laid herself on the couch counting each breathe until she to drifted into the darkness of sleep.

She had woken up early knowing there where something she would need to begin taking this man to hell, she moved around the apartment silently leaving a note along with a bottle of water and a small clear cup holding two pills to help with the thumping in his head that would come once he became part of the living world once more. The note simply stated “Be back soon, take the meds and drink a lot of water it will help. “

After she scribbled down the simple note she summoned the darkness inside and allowed herself to fade into hell where she was quickly greeted by one of the small demons trained to serve the masters of hell. “Mistress, can I get you anything.” She sighed and forced the words from her mouth “I need an audience with my future husband. See that it gets arranged.”

Sam called for Deiliha, but it seemed as if she were not home. She did not come to him, which left him to figure out what to do himself. Sam forced himself out of bed and made his way to the kitchen, where he saw a note. He looked it over and squinted at it, waiting for his thoughts to focus. After reading it, he looked to the medicine and the water. Deiliha left this for him? Was she looking out for him? Sam downed the medicine, upset that its effects did not work instantly. He called her name once more and, upon finding himself truly alone, Sam let out a large sigh.

He struggled to remember what had happened last night. Deiliha had taken him out, to get a smoke, and a drink--no, several drinks. Sam remembered dancing with a lot of people, and--had he kissed a man? His cheeks colored at that. After he'd got home, what had happened? She'd offered him coffee, and... Sam let out a sigh of relief. He couldn't remember doing anything more than that, and he was grateful for it. His first time, with a demon... No, the fallen angel would not have liked that on his record. But then... He looked to the empty cup that had housed his pills. Were demons usually so caring?

Suddenly Sam remembered something Deiliha had said the night before. I want you. She'd said something about bringing out her humanity. Sam wondered if that was real, if Deiliha had truly meant that. They had known each other for too short a time, he thought. Unless the demon was really so desperate to cling onto the first creature that showed her kindness. Sam shook his head. There was no use settling on it now. So, after his meds were gone and his water glass cleaned and put away, he went to take a shower and busy himself until Deiliha returned.

After the smaller demon vanished to do as she bid him she walked about her corridors before vanishing and appearing back into her living room, the water and pilled where gone from where she had sat them and the faint sound of running water echoed through the apartment letting her know she angel had found his way into the shower. She figured he may not be very hungry after the night they had so she decided to wait for him.

She had sat down on the couch pulling out a small sketch book and drawing with her eyes closed something she would do allowing the picture in her mind to transfer to the paper. She didn’t draw often but when she did it seemed to completely swallow her taking both her mind and her soul to a distant place. If he emerged she doubted being able to hear him for her mind was completely elsewhere.

She had held herself back the night before and she both hated that and was relived she had for she could have truly hurt him, sometimes being a demon forced other evils from her core not only that he was raised an angel and that alone would be enough for him to end up hating himself for bedding the ultimate darkness. The thoughts traveled though her mind so fast she knew not where they would go or even when they would slow down.

The shower was hot and refreshing, and Sam was in there long enough for the awful feeling to go away. His pill had started to take effect, and he was glad for that. He stepped out of the shower feeling cleansed and smelling fresh. He wrapped a towel around his waist, then checked himself out in the mirror. He wasn't looking as miserable as he'd felt yesterday, so he considered that a success. His damp brown hair was sticking to his face, and his old eyes still looked tired, but there was a charm about the way he tried to smile despite all that had happened.

Sam walked out of the bathroom and watched as steam enveloped the hallway. He wandered outside, and did a double take when he saw Deiliha in her own living room. "I didn't know you were home," he started, but she didn't seem to be paying attention. She was working on something, a drawing, but her eyes weren't even opened. Sam had never cared much about the arts, had only really shown an interest in some music, but he couldn't imagine art being done quite like this. He watched her for a minute, mesmerized. She looked faraway, peaceful even, and he couldn't remember seeing her like that before.

Sam slowly approached her, forgetting he was only in a towel. "Deiliha?" he said gently. "Are you alright? I wanted to thank you for helping me out yesterday, and I guess today. I appreciate your showing me how to... uh, how to sin, and not taking advantage of me while I was so lost in the moment. And the drugs today, thank you." His mind was still fuzzy, but things were starting to clear. He had sinned yesterday, hadn't he? His actions were mildly adulterous, gluttonous, weren't they? He hesitated. Was he ready for the devil himself now? Sam shook his head, then motioned towards Deiliha's drawing. "What are you working on? And where did you go?"

His voice drew her out of her trance blink she looked up at him to find him in nothing but a towel quickly darting her eyes back down she looked over her sketch as he thanked her for not taking advantage of him as well as helping him sin the thought caused her to chuckle and look up “It’s not often you get thanked for helping someone sin.” He had asked here where she had gone and what it was she was drawing deciding to tell him where she had gone first she spoke “I went down to hell to notify satin that I will be requesting a meeting with him.”

As to what she was drawing she pulled her book to her chest as she debated not sharing her art for she had never been one to share the small part of her that where still human but something inside compelled her to show him but first she needed to explain in case she was utterly off “When I was human we had certain ideas about angels and well hell has ideas as well, but I liked the human one better….” Color had managed to dance across her cheeks as she held the book out for his inspection.

The picture was him his features and hair the same as they were now and the shading showing he was flying with his back to the sun, she had detailed each feather spreading the wing span across the page, she had been drawn from the trance before she was finished as it was clear due to the lack of background as well as the half-shaded angel on the paper.

Before he could comment she spoke once more “I might have been off on the details, but in my mind, it seemed right.” She was nervous having shown him her art considering demons weren’t supposed to be consumed by human things for they were supposed to be the one consuming humans. Yet here she was slowly regaining her humanity and emotions she had once lost. It was something she didn’t understand and she didn’t want to think about it too hard for there would be no point.

So, Sam realized, the reason Deiliha had been gone that morning was probably because of him. He wondered if she intended to bring him down to hell with her. That confirmed that she, too, thought him ready to meet the devil himself. That was a weird thing to hear, as previously Sam would have only dreamed of meeting Satan in his worst nightmare. And yet, here he was, about to prance into the place of his enemy king and strike a deal with him. He swallowed the lump in his throat and tried not to think about it.

Instead, he turned his attention back to her drawing. She seemed like she felt that she had to warn him first, which made Sam even more curious as to what she had drawn. Suddenly his mind filled with the worst; he was convinced she had drown something horrible, something so evil and demonic that he might not even be able to stomach it. But, as she showed her work, Sam felt his jaw drop a bit. She was drawing... him?

His mind drifted again to the previous day, of the words she had said to him that he was sure he remembered correctly. She wanted him. She was drawing pictures of him. A demon, drawing an angel, wanting an angel? What kind of twisted story was this? Sam gently touched his finger to the drawing, then drew away. He stared for a long time at the fine lines, the shading, the features he knew from the mirrors he'd seen. He was amazed at her skill, but even more amazed that she would do something like this for him. "Deiliha," he breathed, "it's beautiful." No one had ever drawn him before, or even kinda cared for him. He looked up at her, his brown eyes searching hers, wondering what he had done to deserve something--someone--like this.

He stared at her drawing and when his jaw dropped so did her stomach, did he hate it? Did it upset him because he couldn’t fly as he was in her picture? She wasn’t sure but for some reason she could feel the nervous sensation creeping up on her. it confused her more then it helped her this angel seemed to be painting her life with human emotions was it the innocence of his heart and soul that drew her so far in? or perhaps it was just the thought of him but neither explained the way her insides felt and the way human emotions seemed to be plaguing the demon.

She heard a breathless whisper as he called her art beautiful something that made her cheeks color and her eye drop she was in more trouble then she realized if it kept up at this rate, would she even be able to help him? Looking back up their eyes seemed to lock and she couldn’t help but fall into the dark depths her own eyes dancing between the ruby red and almost shades of blue though she couldn’t see it. Her mind wondered what he was looking for. And would he find it in the darkness of her soul?

Her tongue darted out over her bottom lip a sign she was nervous something she didn’t realize she had done until after it had already happened. She didn’t know what to say or even what to do with this being and in the next instant she stood and stepped closer to him her voice soft and low “Sammy… I don’t … I… I don’t understand what is happening to me.”

There was something wrong with Deiliha. It took Sam a moment to even notice that something he had done must have offended her. He searched her face, then tried to think back to what he'd said. Should he have not commented on the artwork at all? Should he have said something differently? He didn't know what he had done wrong, but clearly he did something, and he felt awful for it. Would this ruin his chances? What would this demon do with him now? He'd be thrown on the streets, his chances slashed; or, worse, she would kill him for this. Suddenly reminded of his own mortality, Sam shifted away from Deiliha, suddenly terrified.

But if she were going to kill him, she didn't look the part. Sam watched her, and he could not see a murderer. She looked afraid, something he did not know demons could even feel anymore. In fact, she didn't look like a demon at all. Deiliha looked like a terrified child, the likes of which Sam had seen plenty of throughout his training. However, he could not understand why she was being like this. He said her name softly, but she didn't seem to hear him. Fear filled his own being too, until finally the demon spoke.

Her words confused him further. "What's happening?" he asked. He looked over her body, as if whatever was hurting her would suddenly be apparent. When he found nothing, he brought his eyes back to hers. "Would you like me to call someone for you? Should you lie down? Should I fetch you water?" He was trying all the ways he knew how to fix a human's aches, not knowing if they worked for demons. Sam hoped she would say something, send him to fetch something or another, just so he could feel somewhat useful.

She blinked away her own panic and saw the angel seeming to be just as lost and confused as she was sighing softly she looked down at her hands that laid in her lap “I’m sorry Sammy. I didn’t mean to worry you I just seem to be feeling new things I haven’t felt in a long time.” The chuckle that escaped her lips had a more hallow echo to it than a cheerful one. Looking up she offered a lopsided grin to him “I would very much like some water.”

She could see that he wanted to help her and wasn’t sure how to so by sending him for water it would give her just enough time to gain her composer and to stop worrying the poor boy. She had seen the fear in his eyes something she understood very well she spent her first few years in hell cowering in a ball afraid and even now she was afraid no matter what she had seen the idea of her human emotions scared her for what would happen if she by chance gained all human aspects and then the demons came for her? Or how would her human mind handle the awful things she had done through the many years.

She watched Sam trying to process what was happening to her and what would happen if she was no longer able to help him achieve the war he was set on starting. Would he find himself a new demon to work with and toss her to the side alone to fight all these new feelings? The demon in her felt the urge to make it know he was hers and no one else could mess with him a feeling she wanted to call possession something that could be perceived as dark and frightening but she said and did nothing as her mind seemed to race around and around confusion seeming to make her brain a foggy mess.

She felt as if her head was going to explode making sure her book was out of the way she laid back on the couch placing her forearm over her eyes trying to darken and silence the storm that raged inside her body.

Sam could only watch Deiliha wordlessly as she continued to speak. She was genuinely terrified, it was clear in her eyes, but why? Because she was feeling things she hadn't felt in a long time? What could she have meant by that? Sam studied this woman. He figured she hadn't felt whatever she'd been feeling since she had been a human. He thought back to last night, and suddenly pieces started to come together. Love, an emotion neither demons nor angels fully understood. Humans thrived on it, the silly beings, and maybe, once, Deiliha had felt such a thing too. And now... Sam hesitated, praying his thoughts were not correct. There was no way. I want you. Could it be possible that Deiliha really did love him?

He was thankful that she sent him to get water. That would give him a little bit of time to think things through. Sam was a man now, so perhaps he was capable of love. But for a demon? His sworn enemy? He had every intention of killing her when he turned sides in the war he wanted to start. So... what would this mean? He didn't love her, just appreciated her. But if it were love she were feeling for him, that could be very useful. She'd be so much more willing to trust him. It would be so much easier to get whatever he wanted. As the ideas blossomed, Sam smiled. If he could just manipulate her right, all of this would work swimmingly.

Sam returned with a glass of water and handed it to Deiliha. He gave her a moment to drink, then dared to speak. "Deiliha," he breathed. "What... What are these feelings? Are they bad? They seem to be messing with your head. Is there anything I can do for you?" He was trying to be more caring now, eager to win her over further. He searched her face, her dark eyes, before asking, "Are they because of me?"

He had left to get her water allowing her the briefest of moments to pull her thoughts together deciding to push the fear aside and move forward. She couldn’t be feeling human emotions after all she was a demon and the things she had done up until now supported that. Just the other night she murdered one of her own just to prove a point and now here she was pouring herself all over the couch allowing fear to creep up and swallow her whole as it had in the beginning years of her eternal damnation.

Sam came back with a different air about him it was something she had learned to sense about humans after all you needed to be able to win them over to gain access to their souls and get them to agree to any terms for the sake of desire and greed. Yet she took the water from him and sipped it as the resolve in her mind began to form a wall closing off her emotions and allowing her to ignore the sensations plaguing her mind. She was a demon with no soul and no future that was what she repeated each word like a brick stacking up to block out emotions.

He asked her questions and she simply chuckled a smile crossing her face that didn’t reflect in the cold depth of her red gaze “I haven’t decided yet. However darling I can say I am perfectly alright you don’t need to do anything.” He asked about emotions and if he was the cause and she shook her head taking another sip of water before responding “No Sammy it isn’t you, perhaps I just haven’t fulfilled my quota these last few days and the devil himself has taken it upon himself to punish me.” She had meant it as a joke but somehow it felt darker sighing she stood walking to the kitchen to place the glass in the sink. Looking back at Sam she laughed at her own joke walking back towards him “After all I am a demon I can’t be feeling that much.” She had covered it up but she felt as if it wasn’t a good cover up and she hated that part of her felt sad that she had decided against telling him about the emotions she feared would be soon tearing her apart.

Deiliha answered him, but Sam could see straight through it. She was hiding her emotions, trying to act tough again for him, or perhaps for herself. He watched her for a long time as she spoke, as she walked to the kitchen and then walked back. Her eyes were different, more normal now. It appeared as if Sam had lost his chance. She was back to steeling herself from what she wanted to give into. But that was only temporary, Sam thought with a smile forming on his lips. She couldn't hide her feelings forever, and when she could no longer stand them, her little Sammy would be there, ready to take advantage of her and win back his wings.

For now, the man knew he had to let it go. He consciously relaxed his shoulders and sighed lightly. "Right," he said slowly in response to her joke. "You might want to go meet your quota then, just to get Lucifer off your back." Had he just encouraged a demon to kill people? To terrorize the innocents he was once tasked with protecting? Sam didn't like the sound of that, but he had to recognize he hadn't a choice. The few lives Deiliha would destroy would be a small price to pay for the destruction and termination of all of demonkind.

Sam sank back into the couch. "Let's hope it doesn't come back," he said. "Now... What's the plan for the day? I feel better now, thanks to the pills. So I think I can get up and move about, should we need." There was a distant pain still in his stomach, but he could ignore it. He looked up to her. "Can we... Are we ready to go downstairs? Because I'm sure I would be alright, I think, and we need to talk to him eventually. I need... I need to really do this." Talk to the god of the underworld, and start this barbaric plan to ravage her race.

She watched the different emotions briefly dance across his face and though she wasn’t certain of the meaning she sealed herself away telling herself that it hadn’t matter what the man thoughts where now for she desired one thing and that thing was freedom from the lord she had been trained to serve. She had sat back down when he asked about going downstairs to talk to the boss and she chuckled and nodded “I think it is time Sammy. Let’s go dance with the devil.” She knew that there was a 50/50 chance he would leave hell alive but he was determined and hopefully that would be enough to save his life. She had hoped he would be able to talk his way out of the trouble he was about to step into.

Yet as one part of her was saddened and worried about Sam the other part was excited at the prospect of being both free and that the unfamiliar things that had ran through her mind would be soon coming to an end. Standing she brushed herself off as if preparing herself for something “Alright Sam come on. Let’s head downstairs.” She had stood and began walking towards her bedroom, and once inside she moved to the closet and shut the door. Using one nail from her hand she sliced open her palm and began writing ancient and evil symbols on the door, as she did this and began muttering in the devil’s tongue. She could enter and exit hell as she seemed fit but this was something different she was taking a living being into the pits and that meant she had to use her dark powers bestowed on her to get him there.

It hadn’t taken very long for the darkness of her magic to taint the air around them and soon enough the smell of sulfur and burning flesh began to encase her room making her sigh softly as her eyes opened revealing the blood red color of a demon she turned to Sam offering her hand before she opened the doors to hell literally speaking. If he was going to back out now would be his last chance yet she felt as if he wouldn’t be back out he had far too much to lose and possibly far more to gain.

It was finally time. Sam stayed by Deiliha as they walked to her room. He didn't know how demons got to hell, or how anyone did it really, but he supposed he was about to find out. He watched as she walked to her closet and seemed to perform some small ritual. Past that, the air turned dark and stiffy. Sam reeled at the smells that met his nose, but he recovered quickly and tried to remain calm. There was no backing out now; they had gotten this far, and now, Sam was going to prove to everyone that he was not what they thought he was. He was not going to fail this time, he vowed it.

Sam couldn't remember much past Deiliha's bloodied look. When he opened his eyes again, everything was dark. For a moment, he thought he might have died. This had all been part of Deiliha's plan, he realized, and he was played a fool. He deserved a fool's death after all he'd done. But after a few moments, Sam realized this could not have been death. It was only hell, and despite being an ex-angel in the fiery pit, he was still very much alive. He looked around, but his eyes took their time adjusting to the darkness. All his expectations were already slashed. He was not hot, like he assumed hell was. On the contrary, there was an eerie chill about, and he didn't know if that was because of hell or his nerves. It smelled sour down here. But despite that, it was still oddly more pleasant than what he'd been expecting.

Sam turned his attention to Deiliha. "Should I speak at all?" he asked. He did not want to offend Lucifer after all, and the only things he had heard about the rotten king were bad. He was easily offended, and stubborn and nasty. Sam wondered if Deiliha had heard the same things about his god. Could they feel him? Could they feel his angelic glow? No, Sam thought, that was probably all gone by now. He took a cautious step forward, not knowing what to expect but oddly excited about getting this over with.

He had asked if he should speak to what she was assuming the devil himself and she smirked “I planned on giving you an opening the rest is going to be up to you. After all this is your plan.” Part of her wondered if he was afraid and she thought for a moment he had a right to be afraid after all he had spent his entire life hearing tales of the dark place known as hell. He stepped forward and she followed him stepping in front of him. As she moved past him she let her senses run wild no matter how long you spent in hell you never really enjoyed the smell but she did enjoy the way Sam smelled so pure and sweet if only she could shake the feeling he had something he was holding back from her.

Truth being told she didn’t know how this was going to play out and part of her wasn’t exactly fond of the idea that his life was in danger here and would remain so for weeks to come after all the living didn’t walk freely down here and the way his purity called to the demons around would put him in danger even after he left. She had to shake her head to clear away her thoughts and the way her mind began to cloud with emotions, the motion causing the waves in her hair to dance in the dim lit room.

It took a second to dawn on her that she had brought him to hell without any of his extra angel skills. She wondered if he could truly even see the areas around them. Deciding to take him her domain as that would more than likely be the safest place heavens exile. She stepped in front of him her eyes meeting his in the darkness she was close enough to feel his breath against her face and it caused her tongue to flick out over her bottom lip the fog rolling in again but she managed to hold it at bay “Hold on Sammy. “as she spoke her arms wrapped around his waist and a dark mist began to engulf the two, not that it was really something you noticed in the darkness but still none the less her powers where dark so shadows would be the way they manifested despite the chaos that seemed to be trying to release itself in her mind.

After a few moments the shadows receded leaving them in a chamber that was lit by a fireplace. The wooden floors glowing with a firelit shine that seemed to create a comforting feeling that set her at ease on rough days. The walls where painted a dark red, a large bed laid against the far wall as the walls next to the fireplace seemed to be lined with books of sorts. A small worn chair sat be the fire a book lying face down in the chair with the cover taken off leaving no hints as to what lay inside. This room unlike the one in her apartment seemed more lived in for this was where she had spent a lot of her time. It was her space and the others knew not to bother her while she was in her room. Stepping away from Sam she couldn’t help the blush of her cheeks after all she hadn’t had anyone in her space well ever. This was like a bubble of safety for her. A place she had built after she had nothing left. Running a hand through her hair she turned around mostly hiding her emotions and gaining composure licking her lips nervously before releasing a sigh.

Even if there was that putrid smell, Sam thought maybe this wasn't so bad. He stayed close to Deiliha and tried to take in his surroundings. It was too dark to see much, but the air chilled him. The more they walked, the more uneasy Sam felt. Hell was a place of demons, the realm of the devil himself; what was he doing here? Why was he asking for death from Lucifer himself? Sam shook his head. He had to do this, had to move forward and regain his wings. He would save angelkind from the annoying demons, and he would end Lucifer before the demon king could even make a move against him.

Deiliha spoke, pulling Sam out of his thoughts. He looked to her, flinching only slightly when she grabbed him. The air seemed to grow denser and he shuddered, not knowing what to expect. He tried to keep his eyes open, but it happened in the blink of an eye. There was a light flickering a little distance away, washing the room in a dim glow. They seemed to be in a room of sorts, a homey thing filled with chairs and books. The walls were the color of blood, the air too warm, and the books creeped him out a bit. The way the one was missing its cover, as if violently ripped off, gave him shivers. He shook his head, trying to shake his bad feelings about this too.

Deiliha didn't offer an explanation, so Sam could only shift awkwardly. He looked around again, then met her gaze. "Uh, Deiliha, where... where are we?" He didn't know if they were still in hell even. It looked too lived-in, too friendly, relatively. He went back to her and nudged her shoulder. "Is this where Lucifer lives? Is he... Is he here?" He cleared his throat. Consciously, he stood up straighter, fixed his posture. But there was something about Deiliha's expression, some sense of longing. Maybe Deiliha lived here, once. "Are you alright?"

She watched as the angel seemed to be panicking inside his head maybe even second guessing the grand scheme of a plan they had come up with. She noted how he shifted and chose to say nothing allowing him to approach her, before she even responded he spoke asking if she where ok and she nodded her eyes glancing around “This is my room… I’ve been down here for a while and you don’t get access to the surface until you earn that right so I spent a lot of time here. I don’t normally allow anyone past the door because this is my haven. The only place I have that is truly mine.” She didn’t know why she kept on rambling trying to explain to him in a way he could understand why she looked so thrown off balance by this. She didn’t worry about the master plan that could end in both of their deaths but she was worried about the boy in her room. The idea seemed so stupid when her mind broke it down into piece and she merely ran her hand through her hair trying to shake the feeling of unease.

She made her way to the fire allowing the warm air to circle around her, she had closed her eyes and spoke “I figured this would be a good place to gather your thoughts while I go and get the devil himself to come in and meet with us.” She turned and her eyes fell upon the man before her and she spoke once more “There isn’t any turning around after this point.” She needed him to understand he was about to cross a line in which he could not return.

She didn’t go near him as she could feel the nerves chewing at her insides deciding it was either now or never she sighed and spoke up again “I think it’s time for me to go and fetch the king. Hope you have a good pitch line.” It didn’t take long for the she devil to vanish in the black mist that had once placed them inside the room. Leaving the poor Sam alone in the demon’s lair.

As Deiliha explain, Sam couldn't help but feel even more left in the dark than just moments ago. She had brought him to her haven, as she called it, but why? Did she really have feelings for him? That was starting to have such benefits already, and he was grateful he had found Deiliha. It was days ago, but it seemed like so long ago. What a wild week, he thought to himself, and here he was at the most stressful part of it.

"Thank you for taking me here." Sam was careful to be reverent, not daring to touch her things or stare too long. He bowed his appreciation, and he listened to the tone in her voice. The demon was right, of course. No matter what happened here, things would not go back to normal, not until this war was over. Then, he would be welcomed home with open arms by all of his former friends and peers. Sam cleared his throat. It was now or never. "You can... You can bring him." He watched as Deiliha left the room, and suddenly her absence chilled him.

The former angel was very out of place here. He didn't know why he was trying to do this, and he had to keep reminding himself why he was here. He thought to his fellow disculpi, of Ursupala his teacher, of Adainmelhye himself. It would all be worth this to see his god's smile. Sam shook his head. What would he say to Lucifer? Now was the time to think of it all. As the minutes ticked by, Sam could feel his anxiety spiking. Any moment now, Deiliha would come back with the demon king himself. No, he told himself. Reminding himself of his resolve, Sam nodded and waited for his companion's return.

“Deiliha... I was told you would be coming to see me.” The husky voice spoke from the shadows behind her. She looked around not surprised the king had taken an apartment in the city to enjoy what she assumed to be fun for him. Turning her eyes landed on the man before her and as much as she fought the urge she had to admit he was at least a looker, the chuckle in her mind wondering if that was just a trait all angels carried. With his dark hair falling in a devilish way around his face hanging no lower than his chin it made him look like he was on the edge of needing a haircut but had merely put it off. His grin was just as snarky as his eyes a way she had learned to call him feeling like he was king of not only hell but of the world itself.

A faint groan echoed from beside her and she didn’t need to turn to know it was one of the many women who chose to dance with the devil himself. Her spoke again “So what can i help you with my darling.” He had called her that from the moment he spoke up telling the demons below she was to be his next bride a thought she had to push from her mind as bile rose from the depths of her stomach. It took a moment but she spoke regardless “I have someone for you to meet. He has a deal I think you would want to hear for yourself.”

The devil chuckled and approached the she devil his eyes locked on the blazing fire dancing in her ruby eyes over the years he had seen many demons who held promise but none kept ahold of the fire inside there soul the way she did. He had locked lips with her before she even had time to respond and he felt her body stiffen as she debated fighting against him. Something he liked even more a wild women was always the most fun when it came time to tell them who was in charge.

He hadn’t noticed but she had used the time to sweep him from his space into her own as she pushed him back forcfully the glare in her eyes made the man smile even brighter than before. As he cast a look around the room noting the boring side notes but he attention caught on another male and his eyes sparked with curiously and light haze of jealous “I suppose you are the man I am supposed to meet.” His tone wasn’t hostile yet it showed nothing more than the raw power emanating from him. This angel would know who was the boss of this situation, yet another cast down angel with no grace and no wings was something he hadn’t seen since he fell and that warranted at least for him to hear the man out.

He was left to ponder for a long time, his thoughts running in swift circles while he struggled to remain calm. Sam paced a bit, but every time he realized he was doing it he straightened and stopped immediately. It seemed like eons before finally there was a noise within the room. Brown eyes turned sharply towards the source. Deiliha was back, and there, beside her, was the demon overlord that Sam had only seen in textbooks.

Lucifer looked like an ordinary man. Sam was appalled by that, by his lack of evil air. There was some atmosphere around him, but after all the talk up above, after being born and bred to hate this being with all his heart, Sam couldn't help but think this meeting underwhelming. He had to remind himself that this still was the king of hell, that he needed to straighten up and sell his case well enough for even this creature of villainy to support him. Sam cleared his throat, and he offered his lowest, most respectful bow.

"Sire," Sam greeted, not knowing how exactly to refer to his enemy. "Deiliha has told me much about you. It is a pleasure to finally meet the devil himself." He didn't dare over a hand, instead keeping his distance, perhaps more for his own safety. "I have been wanting to talk to you for a long while. I have a proposal that I think you might be interested in." This was it, Sam thought, the moment he'd been waiting for, the moment he'd been mentally training for. He let out his last shaky breath, and he began.

Sam told the devil what he thought the king would want to hear. He spoke of the murder he'd committed, sounding much more believable than the first time he'd told the story. He spoke of his excommunication, and his feigned rage at Adainmelhye. He spoke of wanting to exact revenge on his former "friends" and needing to do it by eliminating them. After telling the demon about the advantages he had, the knowledge of heaven's workings, he finally was able to breathe. He watched Lucifer, not wanting to make eye contact and show disrespect, but dying to know what the beast was thinking. He subtly cleared his throat and nodded. "That is my proposal," he said. "I leave the rest in your hands."

Deiliha had moved to the chest at the bottom of her four poster bed watching as Sam steadied himself to spill his plan and desire from his lips. She knew she had no place to speak on this and in fact she was merely a means for Sam to get to the king himself and achieve the goals he had set. She hated that the thought alone made a part of her feel sad at the fact Sam didn’t truly desire her company but more he needed her to play a pawn in his gambling game. Pulling her attention back to the conversation between the two fallen angels her eyes landing on her dear old husband to be.

He stood his dark eyes brooding over what the man before him was saying, his brows frowned as his he merely rubbed his thumb over the dark beard at his chin. The angel spoke and though he could much tell the parts that seemed to run deep with emotions and the parts that held the sketchy feel to them. a flicker of laughter danced in his mind as he felt the slight tinge of a lie in the back of his mind, but so it seemed this angel felt so many different ways the need to prove how loyal he was to their maker but part of him had already began to question what he truly felt for the world around them. He understood the fallen angel but he also didn’t like that someone expected to try and slip a lie past the king of lies.

Once the angel spoke his hand moved from his face and his eyes darkened as he decided how to handle this situation. “Your proposal and plan are fantastic to the thought; however there are some things I think you failed to consider. One, why would I want to start a war a kill so many of my people when we are fine as we are now. Must the demons sin yes but only to keep their hold on power they desired and pleaded for. I get to do as I wish with little to no repercussions.” He sighed and turned his back to Sam looking into the fire “However there are many sides to this, I hate them for the shame they put me through and so many other reasons.” As he pondered how to truly handle this when it dawned on him. Why not have some fun with this while he truly decided on a course of action.

Turning back to the young angel Satan spoke with a slight smirk dancing across his lips “Iv got it!!! Spend one month being human and doing the things free people get to do and then pitch this to me again and explain to me why I should truly start a war. I will think on this in depth before a final decision is made. You will have access to all the things normal males your age have as well as I shall have Deiliha show you the world of humans and why god himself loved these freewill beings more than us.” He hated humans but he had grown comfortable with the various things they had created through time and not only they paid there price when they first entered hell. It was his job to punish those who chose the dark road.

Lucifer wasn't believing him. Sam watched desperately as the demon king watched him. He was a hard one to read, but Sam could see it, could see the way the elder's eyes flickered, considering, at every part where Sam lied. The man did not let that break his resolve; he stood there with all the confidence he could muster, not daring to waver under the devil's gaze. Finally, when Lucifer addressed Sam, he stepped in, grateful to have the silence end.

"I think we would lose few demon lives, if any at all." Sam had practiced this in his head. "The angels will be caught unawares, and so we will have the upper hand in the beginning of the battle. Pair that with our knowledge of heaven and angelkind, and we should never lose the advantage. We know their weak spots. We were one of them. And then they betrayed us. They threw us away like garbage. I think even losing a few demon lives in the pursuit of revenge would be worth it. The angels, Adainmelhye, they cannot get away with that. They deserve to suffer, like we have. Demonkind deserves to be on top."

But Lucifer had other plans. Sam silenced himself when he started speaking again. He heard him out, confused about his motives. He wanted Sam to live as a man? The confused fallen angel looked to Deiliha, unasked questions surrounding his expression. Well, regardless of the reasons behind Lucifer's proposal, Sam was not about to question what he had been told to do. He looked back to Lucifer and bowed deeply. "I shall live as a man, as you say," he replied. "I thank you for this opportunity. Deiliha is a wonderful guide, and I'm sure she will teach me much about human and demonkind. I look forward to all there is to learn.

Though the idea was a strange one. Living as a man... What would that even entail? A man his age... In human years, was he around twenty? Twenty-five? And what would Deiliha teach him from this point on? It was his chance to get closer to her, and maybe things would even develop into something more... Could demons fall in love? Would Deiliha come to love him? Sam would laugh at that. A normal man... It would be an interesting month indeed.

Luci heard the boy out and he could damn near smell the lie rolling off the boys tongue. He knew that as an angel who had lost their wings there was a hate for the loss but in the same breath there was regret for doing something you saw as the thing to do. Yet he also knew the process of trying to go back home after all that was the only place we really knew as we where angels before we where the fallen. E needed the man before him to live the life of a man be allowed the freedoms her had been denied for years because once he felt the sensations to feel as a man he may no longer have the urge to return to heaven to become a mindless puppet once more.

He listened turning his back to stare deeply into the dancing flames of the fireplace, the boy was so determined and had seemed to steal the resolve on the idealism that he still wanted to seek revenge for something done to him lifetimes ago, was he sore over the idea and the things and people he lost yes, but he also had things he didn’t miss like the heavy weight on a angels shoulders to fallow the orders to a perfect T and the life that was etched into stone nothing was what you desired. The freedom would no longer be there did the demons really need to be on top considering they were already winning the war between heaven and hell the number of damned souls just keeps rising and that being a fact the demons themselves where already on top. He had a kingdom billions of damned soul to do as he pleased and even the troves of women to sate his hunger the only lost thing was over the years his passions began to slip and now he found himself bored with the life before him. The idea of a war could be a fun new uproar something he would be giving thought to in the next month.

Turning back to his future bride and the man before him he watched as confusion deflated Sam causing him to look at the demon sitting on the bed. For a moment he let his gaze rest on the women for she was lovely and wild, yet no matter how hard he pursued her she didn’t come to him as the others had it was as if she hated him but wouldn’t that mean she had the capability of choosing her fate? Something the other demons lost in the process of become a creature of the dark they would start to decay away their own sins devouring their souls and emotions leaving behind nothing more than an empty rotting husk of a demon. Yet there was her who seemed filled with her own ideas and her own plans she was a spectacle considering he watched her fight the process tooth and nail before she slipped into the inevitable abyss of hell, starting from nothing to become a leader of her own sector. Claiming her would be just as fun as the idea was thrilling that her demons would be more loyal to him because they loved her and the things she stirred inside them.

Turning his dark eyes back to Sam he nodded as the decision was accepted, yet he knew a thousand questions would be floating through the angels head. He spoke after a time of silence “You have the choice of your own apartment or you can stay with my lovely bride. Another thing is you will start a job within the next few days. Figure out what you wish to do with yourself and let Deiliha know I will not start you at the top as a human you need to see the process of events. Enjoy your time angel, because I have no more left to spend in this meeting. After all I left a lovely redhead in my bed.” In the next instant satin vanished in the rolling fog of black leaving Deiliha and Sam alone in the room once more.

```````
Deiliha released the breath she had been holding falling back on her bed and sighing roughly that was a situation that seemed far too stressful. Sam felt bad for Sam after all he didn’t get the answer he want, but instead was giving something even harder then waging a war against angels he was tasked to live as a man and not as a rich man but a normal man and what was even worse she was the one who would be showing him these things. As if the entire situation wasn’t complicated enough being around Sam more could cause her to feel more then she had felt in a long time something that frightened the demon shaking her down to the core of blackness that should be deep inside her, yet she wasn’t so sure anymore.
She waited for Sam to approach her and decide what he wanted to do from this point would he need time to process and accept what just happened or would he jump on the wagon like a good soldier and do as he was told to do. Part of her wondered just how much of him was man and just how much of him was angel.
And just like that, the king of the underworld was gone. Sam was still for a few moments, wondering what was going through Lucifer's head and how any of this would play out for him. He would be relying on Deiliha. Was Lucifer's question meant to trick him? If he were to room with Deiliha, would Lucifer be angered that Sam was staying with his "lovely bride"? How would he get a job? Sam knew loads about humankind, about the anatomy and psychology and the textbook details, but human sociology in practice? Daily life was one thing to read about, but to actually go through the motions...? He'd be relying on Deiliha far more than he had anticipated.
After the moment air had settled around them Sam focused his attention on Deiliha. He hesitated, not knowing where or how to begin. The hard part was over, and the fallen angel couldn't help but feel dissatisfied. He hadn't gotten much of an answer, and wouldn't for a long month. Would it be worth it? Would living like a normal man be worth it to reclaim his wings and prove to all of his peers and mentors that he was capable of doing good after all? Of course it would be, he thought to himself. He would do anything to prove himself.
"Well." Sam was the first to break the silence. His eyes glazed over Deiliha, then landed on her own. They were distant, distracted, and he couldn't guess what she was thinking about. "So... Now we do what the big man says, I guess. Weird calling him the big man instead of... Well, you know." Sam shook his head. He'd need to not talk about Adainmelhye in any kind of positive light, lest they suspect him of what was truly his intention. "Would Luci be alright with me staying with you? And what does he want me to do as a job? Being an angel is all I've known, ever. I don't know what I would begin to do. How I would go about doing it." He looked back to her, tilted his head. "Do you have any ideas?"
Her eyes met his when he began speaking asking her if he could continue to stay with her and what he should do as a job. She decided to give him the options she had seen many face time and time again “Normal human end up choosing between how much money they desire to make or something you love to do. “she stood up walking over to him stopping in front of him a smile dancing on her lips “What do you like to do? Even when you where an angel there had to be something you enjoyed over other things.” The thought made her wonder what was it she used to enjoy doing? Before she died and became a monster what did she do with her time?
Then again that was a different time all together and though she held some of her human emotions memories where not one things she was graced with. So, she wished she could offer examples to him, but she wasn’t sure how to explain all the different jobs to him. Running her hand through her hair she sighs “Hold that thought. How about we go out and see the city see a bunch of other humans doing jobs and such and then you can decide. That way you can see the different options.” Though humans had to work from the bottom to the top of the food chain he was given a pass to become what ever he desired. Her being a demon of her stature she could almost insure him the job he desired.
She moved closer to him the heat of her body radiating against him as her voice lowered “Are you ready?” a question not only about magically getting out of here but also the hidden questions was he ready to be a human and learn to live a life, so many failed at living.
Deiliha's question gave the ex-angel pause. What did he enjoy doing? It was a simple question, but one Sam didn't know he had ever been asked before. What did he like to do... Previously, he had just been told what to do. He'd been instructed on what to study, where to go, with whom to mingle. All his life had been planned out, up until the accident. Playing around with those humans, atop that waterfall, all the moments right before that frail human body was thrown over the edge; had that been the first time Sam had truly been free? Could he deny the rush he'd felt, doing what he knew his superiors would not approve of? Could he ever admit to the satisfaction of finding out his actions had consequences after all?
He was snapped from these thoughts by Deiliha, who was asking if he were ready to leave. "I'm more than ready," he said, though he wasn't sure. He had seen humans at work before, of course. He had studied them even, had paid attention to how they went about their daily lives. He had just never anticipated mimicking them, actually following in their footsteps. Sam thought to her question again. "I'm... good with my hands," he said slowly, trying to think. "I like making things, or tinkering. I was usually good at things like that. I was interested in lessons about how machines worked, or I could probably make a half-decent chef, or maybe I could try building things from the ground. Just... none of the flowery stuff, I'm not creative enough for that."
He was silent for a moment, but soon the man continued. "I was docile, or that's what Ursupala would tell me. She said I was like a well-trained, disobedient dog. I pick things up quickly, I just used my skills on my own terms. I guess that's why I'm here." He awkwardly scratched at his head. "Anyway, I don't know what I would be especially good at. I guess I never had to consider working like a man." Sam looked at her, at that same faraway expression. "What about you?" he asked. "What are you good at? Wouldn't it be weird if we could work together?"
she looked him over as he pondered the things he could do and when he mentioned what his teacher or what she assumed was his teacher called him she simply chuckled shaking her head “You know I bet that is what the first humans said about wolves before they became dogs.” The joke seemed to fit though she wasn’t sure he would really understand the meaning, but she could hope. Though he was uncertain, and he didn’t have a clue on his life it was his and that was something she hoped he would understand. Part of her even dared to hope he would abandon this ridiculous mission but she quickly shot the thought down when it became a question of where that left her.
what was she good at? The question bounced around in her head and she could only shrug her shoulders “I don’t really know. I can draw, and I like to tinker with cars and bikes, but I have never really considered working like a human. Demons don’t really need to work when we can simply take what we want.” Saying the words out loud left a rotten taste in her mouth making her realize how truly evil she was. Sighing she ran a hand through her hair before stepping close to Sam wrapping her arms around his waist allowing the darkness that was her power to encase them. Transporting them back to her apartment when the smog vanished she stepped back “How about tomorrow I will take you around town and you can see a few of the jobs that seem to work for you and who knows maybe you could even come up with something tonight. As for working together where ever you go I will fallow after all that was my task in all this.” Moving towards her kitchen she decided to ask, “Are you hungry again?” though she wasn’t human she reminded herself as a man he would have needs and for a moment she wondered what other need he would have. Yet another thought she erased from her mind before opening the fridge and pulling out a bottle of water and taking a sip of the cool liquid. It was refreshing after being in the pits of hell, grabbing another bottle she turned and tossed it at Sam “Heads up!”
Sam liked the idea of exploring town to find something to do with his life, but he worried it would not be enough. What if he couldn't find anything he liked to do? How would he spend his days with no one telling him what was best for him? He had always wanted this freedom, but suddenly, he didn't know how to handle it.
He was hungry, and being reminded of it, he nodded to Deiliha and joined her in the kitchen. "I can make something for myself," he told her, both trying to save her the trouble and trying to improve his own culinary skills. He nodded to himself, then rummaged around the kitchen for the ingredients he would need to sustain himself.
---
One month later
Sam wiped at his forehead with the back of his oil-stained sleeve and sighed. He finished up with the last car after a very long day of work at the garage, only blocks away from where he was staying with Deiliha. The man had taught himself everything about cars and had learned quickly. He had been fascinated by how they worked, and shortly after Deiliha had showed him to this garage, he had made it a goal to get a job there. Though his boss, Jack, was old and crabby, not even he could deny that the kid had motivation like no other.
Sam loved working on the cars that came in. He loved coming home dirty every day, and he believed that was the true mark of a good day's work. This day was especially long, however, and as he put his tools away he brushed the dirt from his plaid button-down shirt. The lady who had sold it to him at the department store had assured him it was an essential for a man at work to have such a shirt. He didn't know that her words had any merit, but he was happy to be buying his own clothes with his own money.
Deiliha was going to pick him up, so after he had finished up, he sat down on a bench outside and looked out at the sky. The sunset colored the sky in various hues, and for a moment, Sam wondered what the sight looked like from above. He wondered how Adainmelhye was watching the sun, how Ursupala saw it, how any of his ex-peers felt about it. Shaking his head, he pulled his gaze from the sky and scanned the street for Deiliha.
It had already been a month and she had watched the little lost angel find his feet and start on the road to becoming a very appealing man. Though she had behaved this month she found herself more and more entranced with this man. He made her laugh and as the time went by they had began to grow on one another or at least he had grown on her and most days she didn’t feel like a demon who was playing a game, but he made her feel almost human. If she had said she hated it, she would be lying and though she twisted the truth she didn’t normally offer an outright lie.
Today had been one of the days she hated most, she was forced into hell to sit through another grand meeting of sorts and she wished she could have blown it off. Glancing at the watch on her wrist she sighed it was almost time for her to go and get Sam. He had worked so many times as a reason to not be here but not today.
To be fare this wasn’t really hell it was more like a large company with the leads being demons making sure to keep a lid on all things otherworldly and keep everyone with very nice padded pockets. That was why she was here being chosen to marry the devil meant when he didn’t want to sit in meetings with other demons and argue about all things in all directions. Sometimes she felt not like a bride but more like a pawn sent in to do his dirty work and make sure to write about it later. Huffing she tapped on black nail against the hard surface of the table she knew that the more irritated she became the more likely she was to show just how much of a demon she was.
It was something that she had kept a tight lid on she didn’t want Sam to see the darkness that plagued what was left of her. though she didn’t ask what he though about her being a demon she figured he preferred to forget. Slamming her hands down causing the room to silence she offered a wicked grin tilting her head “If you will excuse me.” Sidestepping from her chair she grabbed her bag slinging it over her shoulder and exiting to the sound of murmurs of disapproval and the click of her heels on the marble floor.
She made it down stairs and exited the door ignoring the formal goodbyes and conversations, it had been a long day and it had left her in a bad mood. When he car came into sight she sighed in relief she was done with this for the day. Walking across the road she cursed the evening sunlight as it heated up the back fabric of the dress suit she had worn. It was all to tight and it came to her knees with a pull over coat that only hand three buttons exposing the dress shirt that covered her chest. Her hair was pulled back into a tight pony tail. Her lips painted red and her eyes lined in black, it had been another frustrating day for the women whom was tossed into a law firm built of demons.
The rumble of her engine as it came to life brought her back and she used that to pull away from the curd to pick up Sam and then go home. She pulled up outside of the garage and she saw Sam waiting for her, another day covered in grime and oil. For a moment she smiled at the way they looked riding home together one prim and polished the other covered in grease and grime. She respected him for this job though he loved it and he had worked hard to get it. putting the car in park she sighed leaning her head against the steering wheel she just needed a minute to try and reign in the monster that slept inside her head.
Sam noticed that Deiliha's car was nowhere in sight yet. He checked his watch and saw that he was a little early, so he ducked into the garage once more. Everything had been cleaned up and put away for the day, but Sam found himself looking through the cars that were left overnight. Some of them were waiting on new parts to be shipped. Others were shiny and finished, waiting for their owners to pick them up. One was a simple-looking car that had been left at the garage for over a week now. There was no response from its owner, whom they had called multiple times since the car's repairs had been finished. Absently, Sam wondered what it would be like to take it home himself. To have his own car, and reach those top speeds... It would be almost like flying again. He looked back at the cloudy sky, and for the first time, he seriously wondered if he even wanted to go back.
It wasn't long after that Deiliha showed up. Sam noticed her car when he exited the garage again. She was sitting with her head down. Cocking his head, Sam wondered what had gone down to upset her. She didn't tell him much about what she did when he wasn't around, and he figured he wasn't allowed to ask. Even if she was a demon, though, Sam didn't like seeing her so down. He walked to her car and gently knocked on the window. When she unlocked the door, Sam slid into the passenger's seat and studied her. "You look really nice," he commented. "I feel under-dressed now. I didn't realize it was dress-up Thursday. Next time let me know."
He turned his attention back to the road in front of them. Sam had to admit, Deiliha did look beautiful when she dressed up. He liked the way her dress hugged her curves, or the way her hair looked perfectly tamed. She looked so formal, so heavenly even. He wondered what would happen if their roles had been reversed, if Deiliha had been born an angel instead of he. It was an amusing thought, one he dismissed easily.
Sam drummed his fingers along the dashboard. "Long day at work for me," he said. "I can't wait to get home and relax for a while. Garage is closed tomorrow. Maybe we can break open the champagne. You look like you need a drink, too." It was the routine they had gotten used to, Sam telling Deiliha about his day, even if she might not have cared at all. He leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes. "You look like you've got something on your mind. Do you want a penny for your thoughts? I get paid tomorrow though, so you'll have to wait until then for your payment."
The knock on her window didn’t start her but she nodded slightly lifting her head and unlocking the door. It was magical the way her shoulders unwound when Sam was around her, it was like he brought fresh air into the darkest places and she was always quick to inhale that air. It steadied her human self and it had even kept her from doing some of the horrible things she was known for. She made a joke and she could feel the urge to smile tugging on her lips. She pulled away from the curb listening to him go on about his day and then he asked for her thoughts. He had grown rather perceptive when her moods dropped and though she didn’t normally tell him things when it came to the matters of demons. Mostly because she didn’t feel like he belonged in her dark world. She had even gone as far as to check all the others where he worked her not demons. She had gone out of her way to ensure his safety but no one stopped her because of the role she was taking over. Though it was a title of bride she felt more like a glorified secretary but she liked that with Sam around the devil left her be except to inform her of the next list of things he needed done.
Part of her wondered if it was his way of making her pay him for the fact he let Sam live in peace but today she didn’t feel like hiding the fact her day sucked "I was stuck in a room full of over confident demons trying to iron out the kinks on the travers case that has been through the news. " she left out the fact she was trying to find a way to cover up the way the demon had killed a man. His name had been Leo Travers and he was attacked on his walk home and killed by a newly released demon but for the news sake he was attacked by a rabid dog. The work had to be a spawn of rage a sin that caused murder and hate in a very strong degree, but lately there had been rumors of hunters wandering around taking out each creature they came across.
Deciding to change the track her train of thoughts had started to turn she decided to ask "What are we eating for dinner? I'm starving and a drink sounds nice Sammy." Her voice softed at the last bit as it normally did when she used his pet name. He had shown her what it was like to really care about someone and that was something she hadn't found in life, but Sam always worried about her and sometimes she forgot he was an angel and she was demon trying to break the walls between the two. Though the longer they lived together the less the topic came up and she wondered if he had changed his mind. Part of her hopped he would because he deserved to live a full human life and get all the things he wanted but what did he want? He had found a job that made him happy and he seemed to be in a pretty good mood. She took the moment to wonder when he would venture away from his demon roommate in the purist of romance she had seen some of the woman snoop around the garage just because of Sam yet she wasn’t sure he ever noticed and she didn’t bother telling him.
As they drove she was glad home wasn’t very far from his work something she was glad because if she couldn’t take him to work or pick him up as she did most days he could still make it home. She had a key made for him and all the works even gone as far to have a room added on for him. It was something he seemed to appreciate but she couldn’t help feel bad when he would sleep on the couch so she pulled some strings and Sam had gotten his own room. Pulling up to the garage she paused for a moment glaring at the garage door she was certain this morning it had been closed all the way when she left but now it sat at half-mast and she couldn’t shake the feeling something wasn’t right.
She moved her hand placing it on Sam's knee for a split second "I need you to stay here." With the threats of demon hunters, she didn’t want to risk his life because he was associated with her. So, before he could argue she slid from the car shutting the door and pulling her feet from her heels. Jogging up the door and vanishing in the darkness that was the garage and it swallowed her whole.
Once she was inside her eyes adjusted to the darkness and he stomach turned someone had trashed the garage and the mess lead up the stairs taking a deep inhale she started up the stairs cursing the tight material that covered her body as it restricted her movements.
Sam could instantly forget the long day he'd had at work when he heard Deiliha use his pet name. He didn't know why the simple moniker made him so happy. No one had ever given him a nickname. Most of the angels insisted on calling him Ptarsameal, long after he himself had shortened it to Sam. But Deiliha, she had come up with the nickname all her own, and that made it all the more special.
He cocked his head at the mention of Travers. It took him a moment to remember the name. One of his coworkers had mentioned the story, but only briefly. "That's the kid who was killed by... was it a dog? A bear? I don't remember." He looked back to Deiliha and slowly figured out what she was getting at. "Or... a demon," he added softly, wishing that hadn't been an option. Hanging around Deiliha so much made him forget that demons existed, that they were just the disgusting, blood-thirsty monsters he had always known them to be. But then, why was Deiliha so different? He concentrated on the road ahead of them. "I'm sorry, that sounds like a drag. At least it's over now, eh?"
Deciding to think of something else, he contemplated her question for a few moments, mindlessly mumbling names of different dinner options. "I think I saw a recipe for shrimp scampi online the other day," he droned, "but I've also been meaning to try a pot roast. Would that take too long? Maybe we can figure out ravioli instead... Would that go well with champagne?" Sam continued to list off ideas as they drove.
As they pulled up to their home, Sam could feel the tension begin to boil from Deiliha. He raised an eyebrow at her, silently asking her what was wrong, but she offered no explanation. As she ventured into the garage alone, Sam slowly unbuckled his seat belt and awkwardly tried to peer inside. Things were strewn across the floor, and he couldn't remember a time Deiliha would ever leave the garage door open. He hesitated, but ultimately decided he would not be contained. If someone was inside, Deiliha was probably more than capable of protecting herself, but if she were caught unawares... He quietly got out of the car and followed after her, hoping they would be alright.
Her apartment laid in ruins all her and Sam's things strewn all about but that wasn't what boiled her blood it was more the fact they had not only invaded her home but Sam's and though she knew that this was one day more than likely going to happen. Be it someone wanting revenge, a demon trying to gain power. There were so many different reasons to search her an apartment and for a moment she wished it could just be a simple break-in and nothing more.
Yet her hopes where quickly dashed when she walked up to the body of her beloved hellcat the beast's eyes where closed and if it weren't for the blood she would have sworn he was simply asleep but that was not what disturbed her the most but it was the fact he was dead that meant someone from her own race was involved knowing how to kill an animal with demon origins was not something easy to achieve. One they would be strong as where most demons and even somewhere inclined to have demonic magic such as her own. There were steps and certain weapons needed to defeat him and that was what really dug its claws into her.
She could feel the storm or rage boiling through her and the way it brought her darkness back and she turned with every intention of storming downstairs and raising all types of hell among the others and she would gain the information she wanted no matter what it took to get it but something stopped her and it was the human who had risked his own life coming up the stairs even though he knew she was strong enough to take care of her self he still came if nothing more then to make she was ok. It poured ice water on her emotions and she looked down feeling the prickle of tears in her eyes, the feline had been apart of her for so long and she had assumed he would always be around but that was no longer the case. It didn't feel like she lost a pet but a friend and the human emotions she held so close began to show as she felt the tears fall. It wasn't fake and demon where not supposed to cry emotional tears and it lead to one strange reaction from the body she would cry blood and that wasn't something the angel needed to see from her but she had no one but him who would be able to see the pain she felt because if it became known to anyone else the things that would happen to her would be very unthinkable. She had been broken once and somehow managed to pull herself back to the surface and she had discovered more and more things about being human she hadn't known in her past life.
She moved slowly but no the less she found herself in front of same her head falling to his shoulder as her shoulders sagged in defeat. She had been defeated in her own mind fighting the dark feelings until it overtook her and her shoulders shook softly as tears fell. though she didn't know if he could see the horrid tears that leaked from her, she kept her head down using him for support for more then just her tired body. This day should have been ending and here was something that was clearly just the beginning.
Sam didn't know what to expect walking into their home, but it certainly wasn't this. He looked around in bewilderment at the various things thrown on the floor. Everything was in disarray, as if some tornado had managed to stir inside this building and be contained completely. His mind began to wander: was this just some petty larceny, or was this a hate crime? Sam thought back to that wretched day in hell, when he had met with Lucifer. Did other demons hate Deiliha for providing him shelter? Were they after her? Hurriedly he caught up with her and remained silent.
It was all reparable damage that Sam could see. Whoever had ransacked their house seemed to have gone now. Sam figured he and Deiliha could probably clean it all up in a day or two. But then he saw that damn cat. It was the cat that had hissed at him when he'd first come here, the cat who had never grown to like him. Sam winced at its now destroyed form. The mangled body of Deiliha's beloved pet removed all doubt from Sam's mind. This was a hate crime, and it was his fault.
He was stopped suddenly when Deiliha turned sharply towards him. He watched as the rage fizzled, replaced by a much different expression. Sam stood there awkwardly, not wanting to anger the demon any further but not wanting to do nothing. Tears began to fall from Deiliha's eyes, and the scarlet shade of them did not surprise Sam as much as their boldness. They fell adamantly, despite Deilha's embarrassment. Sam didn't know what to do at all. He'd studied human psychology at the Academy, human emotions that triggered tears, but what could he do about this demon? How could he help her? As he tried to think of it, Deiliha suddenly moved towards him.
Her action caught him off guard. Sam silently gazed down at the dark head of hair now nuzzled into his shoulder. Instinct told him to draw away, but instead he wrapped his arms around Deiliha, and he let her cry. He could feel the liquid falling from her eyes and soaking his shirt in a color that would not easily be removed, but he didn't care. This, being here for this broken demon when she needed it most, this would guarantee him the trust he needed. This above all else would win him this war.
But he had ulterior motives as well. As Deiliha cried, and as Sam held her, he couldn't help but think he wanted to help her from some other part within him. Maybe it was the leftover angel in his soul, maybe it was that he knew a happy Deiliha would be easiest for him to work with, or maybe he just cared about this demon, but Sam wanted nothing more than to be there for her in that moment.
He started rubbing her back and gently whispering to her. He knew no It's okay or Don't cry would help, so instead he assured her of what he could: "We will move on from this, let it all out, I'm here."
she hated crying but when sam rubbed her back she found it soothing but even more to her surprise he didn't try to stop her tears as any males would have, at least that was what had happened in her human life. She could cry and they would do all things in there power to stop her, men hated when women cried and she wondered if sam was uncomfortable with her display of emotions. yet even if he was she wouldn't be able to stop herself as a demon she had never cried and right now it felt like a sin against her nature but it felt so good to release the tension in her body.
She took a deep breath the motion rattling her body as the emotions threatened to come forward once more, but se felt bad she had ruined his and her shirt all in one blow and she had even managed to ruin her own outfit.
Pulling back she looked up her eyes swollen, her tongue darting out over her bottom lip. Her voice cracked even though it was a low tone “Thank you Sammy….” taking a deep breath and releasing it with a sigh. She needed a shower not only for obvious reason but more to calm her own wild heart from exploding into a river of blood.
“I need a shower dear… “ she didn't say much mostly because she didn't know what to say. She would clean this mess but first she had to deal with herself. Her steps seemed to weigh her down but she had managed to pull away from her fallen angel and make it to her room. Shutting her door with a soft click as the latch met the frame. She stopped leaning back against the door taking deep breaths as her mind began to race the sadness become rage in a instant but she stamped it down moving to the bathroom as she stripped along the way tossing the clothes one the floor.
For a moment she looked around her room cursing herself for the mess that played all around. brushing it off she disappeared into the bathroom. She had turned he water on hot allowing steam to build around her and warm the chill that had managed to seep into bones when she had found her apartment in shambles. If Sam had been home she would have lost him as well and that thought frightened her more than it should have. Without him she would no longer have a chance at her own freedom. At least that was what she told herself after all a angel couldn't have feelings for a demon. They were bred in two worlds each one hating the other but her and Sam where a odd mix because he seemed to call out to her inner human and she didn't really know what she had done for him.
That would be a thought for another day, instead of dwelling on it she stepped into the scolding water, the heat sending shivers through her body. as she watched the red water swirling down the drain she couldn't help but feel like that was her own soul being sucked away. She had held back some of her tears and in the shower they fell freely and in a moment of weakness she curled up in the back corner of her tub and began to weep as the water rained down on the she devil. Her soul was in pain for the loss of her friend companion in a world of darkness but she hadn't realized just how attached she had gotten to the little beast.
She forced herself into a state of calm washing herself and her hair before stepping from the water, the air was cold because the hot water had since drained itself away but that didn't matter, her body was sore and tired and the sweet escape of sleep was calling to her.
She entered her room pulling on loose grey sweatpants that hung from her hips as she tied the string loosely. sliding a large grey shirt over her pale skin, she left her feet bare as she padded out to the living room a first she looked around for Sam but the a thought occurred “How about pizza and wine?” she didn't feel much like anything fancy but wine sounded great.
Sam could tell from Deiliha's words that he had done something right. Just being still and letting her cry seemed to have worked wonders to get himself further into the demon's good books. This, perhaps, had been the most crucial part of his entire manhood. But, as Deiliha broke away from him to take a shower, Sam was overcome with the thought that he wanted to do more. It pained him to watch her walk away, tears still slowly dripping from her face. He let her go, knowing she needed her alone time, and he hated how useless he felt to stop her pain.
With Deiliha now gone, Sam looked blankly down at the imprint in his shirt from where she had just been. Dark red stains had soaked through the fabric. He slipped out of his shirt and held it under the tap, watching as the scarlet turned pink as it spun down the drain. Water alone would not remove such stains, so he got to work trying to scrub his shirt clean. Eventually he gave up and tossed it in the hamper, wondering if perhaps a run or two through the washing machine might help his ruined clothes.
Sam looked around the house and sighed. Whoever had attacked had left quite the mess, and Sam felt compelled to help clean it up. After all, wasn't it his fault they had been attacked in the first place? He started sorting things, tossing the irreparable and dusting the salvaged. He worked tirelessly, despite his already long day at the garage. Sweat began dripping down his exposed chest, now more muscular than when he'd first fallen from home. Once most things in the kitchen were put away, Sam tried to move to another room, but he stopped. There was the body of that cat. He looked up to where Deiliha had disappeared down the hall and, knowing she would not want to see it again, Sam cleaned that up too.
He'd left the corpse in a small box and cleaned the stains from beneath it. Now, Sam awkwardly stared at its coffin, wondering what he could do. It was a demonic cat--could he so easily take it to an animal shelter? Would Deiliha want to take it somewhere himself? While he was trying to decide, he heard Deiliha's voice. She was showered now, and even dressed as sloppily as she was, the demon had a charm about her that made her glow. Sam smiled at her, mad at himself for gawking a moment too long. "I'll order," he agreed, "and you can open one of the bottles. I think an easy night is deserved at this point."
He'd forgotten that he was standing before her in just his jeans, stained with various oils and rusts from his workplace. In comparison to her, Sam looked like a bum, a sweaty and gross mess. Yet the way his smile met his eyes, the way he scratched at the back of his head awkwardly, the way he stood in a semi-cleaned tornado aftermath with a cheer that touched even the dark corners of the upturned room; Sam had a way of making things better without even trying, but oblivious to it all, he reached for the phone to call for food.
She was glad the words left her lips before her eyes landed on Sam because for a moment she was even taken back as a women more than a demon. He looked fantastic and it the light of the moment she couldn't help but gawk at the way his chest seemed to reflect the sunlight or the way his work jens seemed to cling to his hips drawing her attention to darker places.
Running her hand through her wet hair making it fall in a tangle of black waves falling wildly around her head and dripping droplets of water down the front of her shirt. She forced herself to focus on finishing up clearing out the kitchen drawing her attention away from the man before her, though he had gone out a few times and she had merely hovered just in case she held a tightrope on controlling the dark thoughts he had no clue plastered through her mind. Some of them didn't even bother her in a bad way and that was what worried her. They had a great thing right now and she was so afraid one day he would see the devil she was and then this false life would shatter to nothing more then shambles of a broken picture.
She should have gotten rid of her cat first but then she noticed it was already gone and her heart stopped for a moment her eyes darting around until they landed on a small box and instantly she knew Sam had done that to save her from hurting and she couldn't' fight the small warmth that started in her stomach and ended up in her eyes. They had come along way but now it seemed as it was more then it was before and for a moment she wondered just how things had changed for them.
Wine! That was what she was supposed to be doing, with the different emotions playing with her from the all to desirable Sammy to the confusion of her apartment but she had a goal to find something for them to drink to hopefully clear some of the clouds of darkness around them. He was so fantastic without even knowing it, unaware and even clearly unknowing of the things he could convince the women to do. Perhaps she should be grateful that he didn't know because a demon could be one hell of a weapon to wield and for a moment she wondered just how far she would go for him. Was all of this for him? Or was this still her story?
She puzzled over so many things her mind fluttering around only draining her physically that by the time she found the wine she merely moved to the couch and plopped down leaning back and sighing softly. She had to force herself to stop because right now everything was just too much for her. The emotions she shouldn't even have where weighing heavy on her mind, and the weight of her goals seemed more like pressure then anything else. Couldn't she just stay in the bubble with Sam? Just like this until her time expired? Then again he was the human would she have to watch him die? and then have to chase down his soul. For a moment she was certain he would return to heaven when he died and that meant she wouldn't find him so no matter what they would need to destroy the scales of balance just to ensure the small joy she found in him.
The sound of the doorbell made her jump her eyes opening as a gasp escaped her lips and her body shot up right, taking a deep breathe she sighed and moved to answer the door. When she opened the door she was greeted with a teenage boy clearly just to make ends meat and for that she respected him, tossing him a 50 and mumbling about how he could keep the change and before he could blink or argue she closed the door going back inside. Carrying the pizza to the counter she sat it down and went about finding the means to open the bottle of red wine she had found. Deciding to summon Sam for dinner but refusing to look for him unsure if the desire could bed hidden from him in the depths of her eyes and if he sawit would he even know what it was? pouring the wine into two glasses she had managed to find. though a lot was broken she found two regular glass cups and that meant that was going to be the chalas of the evening for the demon and the angel. Taking a deep swig she swallowed the red liquid closing her eyes as she felt the warmth spread from her chest. The bitterness of the wine seemed to go so well with the evening and hopefully it would also help drown out the noise of her own overpowered mind.
So used to being looked at with anything but discontentment, Sam didn't notice the way Deiliha looked at him. He wouldn't have guessed what was soaring through her mind or just how beneficial it would be to his overall mission. He watched her turn away in pursuit of the wine so finally Sam broke away to call for pizza.
This wasn't the first time they were ordering pizza, so Sam knew to get Deiliha's favorite. He ordered some fries to go along with it, figuring they deserved an extra treat. As they waited for the food to arrive, Sam excused himself for a quick shower to remove the bloodied tears that had touched his skin, along with the long day's mark of work. He was quick, only gone for maybe ten minutes, and when he returned he changed into a simple T-shirt and sweatpants. He combed his hair just out of his face and noticed it was growing too long. Had he still been in at the Academy, they would have scolded him for such a rebellious look. Chuckling to himself, he set his comb down and went to meet with Deiliha again.
Sam reentered the living room just in time for the doorbell to ring. He glanced at a clock on the wall, now lopsided but still working. "They're fast," he commented. Sam took his seat at the table, amused that Deiliha was waiting on him. He thanked her for the glass of wine and held it up for a silent toast. Deiliha downed her glass in one go, so Sam copied her, throwing the burning liquid back. If he continued to drink like her he'd get himself quite drunk, but in the moment, Sam didn't mind. He poured himself another glass and grabbed a slice of pizza. "This was a good idea," he said as he carefully placed the fries on top of his slice before putting it in his mouth.
As they continued to eat, Sam tried not to look at the chaos around them. Since he had tidied the place looked better, but it was still far from the condition it had been in before that day. He turned his attention back to his date instead. Date. The thought amused him, and he allowed it to develop. Going on dates with a demon woman, sharing pizza and alcohol and laughs. Noting one of those things missing, Sam began to speak. "You know, Deiliha, if you keep giving me all these fancy alcohols, I can't be held responsible for what I do when I'm drunk. I'll end up ruining something for Lucifer down there, and it'll be your fault." Twirling his wine with his finger, he took a long sip before placing the glass down again. "Then what? I guess we'll have no choice but to run away together, huh? In hiding from the devil himself. What a tale."
It was meant to be a joke, but Sam had no idea how his words might have affected the emotional woman at the moment. They also gave him pause; what would they do if Sam messed this up? Where would they go? He tried not to think about it. He was not allowed to mess up.
Watching him down the wine as she had made the faint whispers of a smile pull on her lips, as he poured a glass she waited and then poured her own but this time she merely sipped on it pulling a piece of cheese pizza from the box. Though she had it all she liked the simplices of a plain cheese pizza. Biting into it she was in the middle of enjoying the way the melted cheese pulled from the crust telling her this pizza was done right. She had been listening to him but when he spoke about not controlling his actions because of the simple wine that passed his lips and she nearly choked on the food in her mouth looking at him with a shock deer in headlights expression. She had even gone as far to pause chewing and just gawk at the angel. If he only knew how sweet that sounded to her ears. If only she could escape from this life she had been pushed into. Turning her back on hell itself and running away with a fallen angel.
Would the devil feel as if she had betrayed him more then likely not because in the end he wanted her to spawn children not with any degree of love, if he was bother it would more than likely be the anger of a child when they see someone else playing with there toy. Right now, she couldn’t help but wondered why satin had left them be forcing him to live as a man and with her as his charge. Perhaps this was all a game to be watched by the devil himself or maybe he was allowing them to be this way as a spit in the face to heaven itself. A demon and angel in a setting that some could see as a coupling. After she had been asked by humans before if he was her boyfriend. Even though he wasn’t sometimes she would lie and say yes just to deter some of the women who craved his attention. It had worked on numerous occasions, but she was certain he hadn’t noticed such a thing.
Forcing her attention back on food was the hardest thing to do when her mind was dancing over the idea of her and Sam being something more. She started chewing fixing the confused look that had clearly plastered itself on her face. She liked the idea, but it was a joke from his half she was certain of that. After all she wondered was there still a part of him that hated what she was. Deciding to go with the honest answer she swallowed her food smirking “Don’t temp me Sammy.” The pause was long to give him a chance to take it in a dirty way before she took another swig of wine “After all running away could be very tempting to someone like myself.”
Taking another mouthful of pizza, she had to wonder what he would say regarding her comment but also, she played with the idea of feeding him wine until she could tempt him into her bed but wasn’t that just the demon in her talking and wouldn’t he hate her in the morning? She wasn’t sure, and it sadly was not worth the risk to lose the one person she trusted in this world and the one below. After all he hadn’t given her a reason to not trust him even when she had to fight with the thoughts that maybe he didn’t want to be around her and he simply was because of the mission he had set himself on and she was the way to really get there but she enjoyed his company and most of the time would push such thoughts away.
Again, her mind always seemed to jump from one thing to another and now it was soring with so many things and one thing could no doubt stop such trains of thought quickly and effectively, just hopefully this wasn’t going to be a moment where the train crashed because of her choice to truly drink it down. Lifting the glass to her lips she finished it and decided tonight she would drink until the demons became silent. Getting up she smiles a smile that could only mean trouble walking over to the fridge she puts her hands on the counter pushing up picking up her weight to jump herself on the counter. The motion causing the pale flesh of her lower back to show revealing the demon had tattoo on her lower back. Though it was very common she didn’t show hers off like that mostly because it was something from her human life, it was very popular when she had been alive. The picture was a tribal heart with angel wings spreading upwards while blending into the tribal lines. Once she was on the counter she stood reaching the small cabinet above the fridge and pulling out a bottle of jack Daniels honey before smiling at the little angel “Challenge accepted.” Hopping down with ease she cracks open the bottle placing her lips around a chugging down the large gulps, a drop of the golden liquid rolled from her lips down her neck and to the curve of her breasts before sliding down her shirt. Pulling the bottle away it was only ¾ of the way gone, but she knew before the night the bottle would be gone and hopefully so would she.
Sitting back at the counter she sits the bottle down, she wasn’t going to make him drink a stronger drink if he was content on drinking wine but when demons metabolize alcohol different it took a lot of something stronger then wine to make her drunk enough to forget her problems. One thing was for sure this would be an interesting night.
Sam noted the way Deiliha responded to his joke. Her face changed, as if she were both excited and terrified at the thought of running away with him. Where would that put them? Sam was sure he would never be able to go home then, and besides, what would he do with Deiliha? Sure she was an interesting roommate, and she provided for him as much as he could want, but Sam didn't think of her as anything more. He wasn't allowed to, not with his mission so prominent on his mind. He had to admit, though, he quite liked living like a human. He liked working with his hands and not sitting in a classroom for hours on end. Even if he were living under Satan's eye, he felt freer now than ever before.
"I dunno," he finally said. "It's fun to tempt you." He winked playfully at Deiliha. She was hitting the harder liquors. Sam had no doubt they'd be having a fun night, and he knew they deserved it after the whirlwind that day had been. He picked up his cup and motioned it towards Deiliha, urging her to pour him some too. He couldn't handle his alcohol as well as she could, not since he'd fallen, but he wasn't concerned tonight. Caution was thrown to the wind, and he was ready to lose himself.
With their meal mainly finished, Sam was content just sitting and talking. He twirled the drink in his glass with a finger. "It's been such a wild time staying here," he started. "If I told anyone from back home about this, they'd do more than just excommunicate me. You know, some of them probably would have expected it." He sipped at his drink. "You're not like a demon though, yeah? You're nice to me. If I didn't know better, I'd say you had feelings. We really should elope, huh?" He chuckled softly. "I've enjoyed it here. I don't think I ever thanked you properly for everything you've given me. Thank you, Deiliha. You shared your home with me, and you believe in me, and that's more than I can ask for."
Was he kissing up to her? Sam wasn't sure himself. He felt that his sentiments were genuine, but did that show? He shook his head. It wasn't worth thinking about. Regardless, he didn't want to ruin the night, and having a good relationship with Deiliha would only help him.
She could feel the lightest tingles as the alcohol kicked in, he offered his glass deciding to dance with the demon tonight a chuckle escaped her lips as she poured him a glass watching him as she sat back down in her original seat. No longer concerned with the pizza but very much more interested in the human man before her. He didn’t know what she wanted from him and sometimes the ways her brain would twirl it would leave a steam so thick on her mind she could nearly feel the heat through her body. Her attention drawn to the way his lips moved as he spoke to her. Her eyes met his and his words became a temptation. Just another one for the list of things the angel did without even knowing, a spell he had weaved through her being and now it was more dangerous than ever.
She wanted to lean closer, her lips would light brush over his as she gave him a chance to retreat and if he didn’t oh the things a demon’s mouth could do would blow his mind. The thought reddened her cheeks and she took another large drink this time she swallowed until she was panting softly her eyes a clouded violet color the red fading as jack began to unwind the twisted coils of her mind. She felt the warmth that for a moment felt like she was a human and nothing more then that. After all she deserved to live to, right? She was back in a way a second chance to do the things she could have done before and if it had been before she would be very close to the angel sitting at her counter.
He was being so nice, and it made her smile her lashes lower hiding the dancing colors in her eyes any other moment and she would have a wall up telling her not to do things but now the lines where blurrier and she was going to let them blur. She normally only drunk small amount figuring demons handled it better and they did but she had drunk enough that any human would be hurling and blacking out, but she only felt a cheerful warmth that went from her ears to her toes. An urge to enjoy herself more then before and that was when she moved lifting her upper body and placing her face mere centimeters from her eyes dark with a violet haze her voice was soft and dark as his name escaped her lips “Sammy…” darting her tongue out over her bottom lips she inhaled and liquid courage fueled her forward.
Her lips barely brushed his and though she thought that would be enough she found herself craving to be closer to him, she pressed forward her lips fully kissing the angel. It was so warm and so soft she could sink deeper and deeper into him but the whisper in her mind made her pull back her eyes dark as she broke the kiss, but she kept her face close to his. Swallowing the heat that he had created she spoke softly “Sammy, all I want is freedom, but I would willingly share it with you.” A soft smile painted across her lips and in this moment, she felt nothing more than a human woman craving affection of a man she had grown to care for.
The demon was drinking an awful lot, even for her kind, and Sam thought maybe he ought to stop her, to warn her of this poisonous liquid, but he couldn't. Looking into her stormy eyes, Sam understood that, more than anything, Deiliha needed this night. She needed a night of freedom, of caution thrown to the wind, and the alcohol would help that. He brushed his fingers along her skin, wondering just how much he could help, too.
The way his name fell from her lips made light tingles go through his body. She stared at him with beautiful eyes and an expression that was all too alluring. Sam was too distracted to see the kiss coming, but when her lips met his he kissed back, shyly at first, until the demon pulled away. Sam looked up at her, a question on his lips, an invitation to come back. She spoke, and Sam leaned into her, letting her words fall directly into his ear. He then looked up at her and pulled her back to him, giving her a series of long, passionate kisses.
She was different. This wasn't the demon Sam had met so long ago. Perhaps the alcohol was clouding his judgment, or perhaps it was something else, but Sam couldn't help but think this woman looked... human. The fire in her eyes was dying down, the venom in her voice, and left in her place was a woman in love. That sent a blush to his cheeks. He should have been thinking of all the ways he could take advantage of this, of her, but instead, Sam busied himself with thinking of all the ways he could show her he felt the same way.
Brave hands moved to Deiliha's hips, then lower, cupping her ass. He poured himself into his kiss and let his hands wander her body. The courage came from the alcohol, undoubtedly, and Sam didn't think to stop himself. Deiliha wanted this; all of her body language screamed with desire. And in the moment, he knew he wanted this too, wanted this release, wanted her. "Deiliha," he murmured ever so softly, "why don't we go to your bed?"
The fire that consumed her was anything but holy, she had wanted this man for months now living in close quarters denying herself the one thing she craved. She once had been worried about what it would do to the angel to taint himself with her darkness but now nothing flowed through her mind but the fire and passion falling from her lips. When she had paused and he came back to her everything around her vanished and she couldn't seem to get close enough to him. When his hands slid down her body it left a trail of flames dancing against her ever warming skin. The man was an angel and his touch lord help her filled her full of light and desire she had only once felt as a human and she sunk in deeper. Her fingers tangled with his hair and for a moment she had no clue what he mummered about but when he shifted to move towards her room she knew this night was just getting started and the thought brought redness to her cheeks and a darkness of lust to her eyes as she fallowed all to willingly.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Time skip: The next morning
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The light danced across her face warming her skin and she merely groaned cursing herself for not pulling the curtains back into place the night before. Now the sun assaulted her senses but so did something else. Taking in a deep inhale heat rushed over her, memories of the night before dancing through her mind leaving the warmth of memory. She enjoy the angel and his touch and when she shifted ever so slightly she found him still in bed with her. A warm sigh escaped her as she flicked her wrist the curtains drawing shut leaving her back into darkness. curling up next to the angel she let out a small exhale before closing her eyes and allowing her mind to drift into darkness. She hadn't slept in so long she couldn't even remember if the calming darkness should have been dangerous or nothing more then the slumber most had sunken into.
She hadn't wanted to break the warm fantasy and curling up next to Sam felt so warm and right that she could do nothing but drift away once more. perfectly content to stay here with him for as long as he would stay in bed. After all once he woke up he might not be as happy as she found herself and that itself was a thought she needed to erase before it happened and destroyed the light she felt cracking through the darkness of her tainted soul. After all good things come to a end and with her it was only a matter of time. The devil was coming for her and she could feel it in the depths of her soul. She hadn't told same but the king had set a date to take her away for there wedding and in the letter it said he would offer Sam the help he wanted but he would be sending another demon to take care of it. She had done her part and in the next month she would be wed to the devil himself. A nightmare to add to the day she had today, she had to find out why they had been robbed and it needed to be done before the devil himself came for her.
The thought left a pain in her chest that made it hard to breath leaving a man she had found to deeply desire, they had spent so long living this lie of a life and now with him so close she never felt farther away from him and that alone made her want to run away but where would she go? and how on earth would it be safe for her and him. There was only one answer and it didn't include her, after all he had a goal and she wasn't a key piece of the puzzle but merely a blank space just filling in.
Sam stirred when he heard Deiliha move out of bed. He didn't open his eyes, but his fingers absently danced at where her frame had been. His lips parted as if he were about to say something, but he was ultimately too tired, too in need of sleeping off the alcohol and this glow, that he drifted back to sleep before he could utter a single word.
He did awake a couple hours later to find Deiliha curled up next to him. For a few moments he didn't understand, but as the memories of the night came back to him, Sam was suddenly hit with a rush of emotion. They had gotten drunk, or at the very least tipsy, and they had done that. Sam turned away from Deiliha, concentrating instead on the dark curtains hiding the sun. His first time had been drunk and with a demon. How pathetic was he? No, he thought, not a demon. Deiliha had been human last night, through and through.
He was surprised at how decently he performed, all things told. Angels had no need for things like sex, so his only experience with the taboo act had been through biology textbooks at the Academy. However, he couldn't have been that bad, not judging from Deiliha's reactions. That brought a smile to his face. Maybe he wasn't all bad after all; at least he could do that right.
Sam sat up in bed and stretched his shoulders. He looked around the room, wishing Deiliha didn't keep it so dark so that he might be able to guess at the time of day. A headache drummed quietly against his skull, the result of too much alcohol the night before. He nudged Deiliha softly and cooed her name. "Time to get up," he sang.
A thought suddenly occurred to him, and Sam subtly backed away from her. What if Deiliha saw last night as something else? She was perhaps more drunk than he was; had he taken advantage of her? Dear god--had he raped her? If Adainmelhye could see him now--murderer and rapist. Just how far had he fallen? Stricken, Sam watched and waited for her reaction.
Deiliha had drifted back to sleep without really even noticing and when the man next to her moved her arm instinctively slid across his waist her fingers trailing softly and slowly the movement thick with sleep. Her name was a warm coo from his lips and for a moment she mummered incoherent things while pulling herself closer to him her dark lashes fluttering moments before they lifted the crimson with rolling wave of light blue creating a violet storm in her eyes as she looked up at Sam a light smile playing on her lips as she mummered his name softly. The warmth the sprouted in her stomach had washed over her in a blanket and for a moment she wasn't a demon in bed with a angel. In fact in this moment she felt like a young women on the brink of dare she say love.
As the blue faded from her eyes a yawn escaped her lips and she released the angel in her bed, laying flat and stretching her back sighing as she ached in all the right ways. She sat up pulling her arms above her eyes head a sigh of pleasure escaping her when her back popped softly. She had looked away glancing around the room and for a moment she was glad to be a demon. No hangover for this one, her eyes danced back to him and she saw in his face the thrumming of a hang over and she leaned over climbing across his lap, the soft wild wave of dark hair brushing against his bare skin as she moved pulling open a drawer on her night stand and shifting things around before surfacing with a small bottle of tylonol. pulling back she sat on her side of the bed, opening the bottle and shaking out the small white tablets curling her fingers around them before offering them to Sam "Good morning Sammy, take these, they will make your head hurt less." Though she wasn't plagued with a hang over she remember all to well the feeling.
The idea left her think how different she had become living a life of wrongs as a human and now as a demon she felt more alive then before. Then again perhaps it was just the night she had before that made her feel this alive. She sighed and looked about her room, her eyes landing on the small green numbers that glowed from the clock on her dresser. 8am, when had they gone to bed? that she wasn't really certain but she did know that like any other weekday she would need to prepare herself for work once more. She climbed from the bed unashamed of her bare flesh as she turned on a lamp in the corner lighting the room with a dim light. She had been about to pull the curtains but she figured that wouldn't help his hangover. " Sammy love, I can get you covered at the shop if you would like to stay home today." She wasn't certain weather or not he would truly want to work today or not depending on what all he drunk the night before.
She moved about the room just a graceful and quite as the cat that had once roamed around, pulling up different items of clothing from the mess around her, once she had picked up all the things she desired she began by slipping on the soft black lace of undergarments before sliding a pair of black slacks up her hips. the fabric was soft and hugged her hips flaring as it traveled down her long legs. flaring out to cover her bare feet. she had her back to him not knowing how he would feel about sleeping with her a monster he had been trained to hate. She refused to spoil her joy with that thought and quickly she blew it off sliding a white shirt over her head, reaching back and fastening the button at the back of her neck. it was a shift that wasn't to tight but at the same time showed the curves of her body, though no flesh was exposed as the white fabric wrapped around her throat. She left her shoulders bare and sat at the foot of the bed, grabbing a brush off the floor she began combing through her hair. She wasn't gentle as she forced the tangles from her hair, in her mind she began to wonder what was Sam thinking as he watched her move around truly having no idea what to say to the man. What if he was just as worried about what she thought? a sarcastic laughter came from the back of her head why would he care about what a demon like her thought? after all she was the one with the tainted soul praying the light of a fallen angel could keep her from falling farther into darkness.
Once her hair was brushed she decided to keep the warmth inside her a moments longer. Standing she turned her eyes meeting his as she padded softly to the side of the bed her fingers brushing the soft hair from his forehead before she placed her lips against the warmth of his flesh. The words that slid from her lips was a strange harsh sound, though she didn't know if angels knew the langue of demons as she murmmered against his forehead "Az Keil." my light she had called him before she moved away looking around once more and sighing "Iv got a cleaning crew coming to help put all this back in order..." her eyes landing on a small ball in her floor and her voice caught into her throat as she remembered her friend whom had been stripped from her the night before but now tears would not come. Only now she was determined to find out what it was that had caused his demise. Revenge a demons game but she was demon after all.
At any rate, she didn't look mad at him. Sam watched Deiliha move about the room, dancing into her clothes. The small white capsules sat in his hand. Sam was too distracted to take them for a while, but eventually the pain in his head reminded him that it would only be stopped by medication. He took the pills and shook his head softly. "I can go to work," he told her, a response to a question asked now minutes ago. He felt that he needed a minute out of this house, a minute to work out everything that had happened the previous day.
If he were going to work, he had to get up and get dressed. However, Sam just sat there in bed, waiting for his headache to subside. Deiliha wasn't looking at him at all; maybe she was mad after all? He didn't know what to say, how to ask, Every part of him was conflicted. If he were capable of murder, then he was capable of this, too. Then what? If he ruined his chance with this demon, how would he ever convince the king of demons that he was on their side? Something else drummed at his mind, a pain worse than his hangover. What if he lost Deilha, the only person he'd ever come to have feelings for before?
Before he could say a word, Deiliha walked over to him and said something. He didn't recognize the language, not immediately, but the longer he pondered the word the more he realized it was demontongue. That was a cursed language among angels, and it was forgotten by most disculpi anyway. Sam was kicking himself; if only he knew what she had just said. He thought to reply in angeltongue, but that was slipping from his mind as well. Was being on earth affecting what he knew? How would he communicate with his peers once he returned to heaven? He tried to mask the panic that crossed his face at that thought.
Sam shifted uncomfortably on the bed. He wasn't going anywhere, not until he knew Deiliha was okay with what had happened. He cleared his throat. "Deiliha," he murmured, "about last night, I just... I want you to know I never meant to take advantage... That is, I think I wanted..." He was tripping over his words, not knowing how to say what he wanted to say. He winced, irritated at his inability to speak properly. "I'm just trying to say... I'm sorry, for last night, really."
He was stuttering something she found to be all the more adorable, it was hard to see a grown man be so sweet and pure. He had given her some of his light and she swallowed it up like a drug and it frightened part of her. Thoughts began creeping through her mind, dark ones that threaten to steal her away from the man once more.
The he began to form a sentence her attention going back to him and she couldn’t help the laughter that slid from her lips. It was all too sweet, he thought he had taken advantage of her. If she had been a human, she surely would have melted in his hands but as a demon her heart merely fluttered with emotion's. She didn’t stop herself this time. Moving so she couldn't sit on the bed close enough for her hand to cup his cheek, her thumb running softly over his flesh and for a moment looking over the angel she realized he would be her undoing one way or another. Her eyes locked with his and though she didn’t know it one eye had gone blue while the other seemed rage with a storm of red and blue fighting it out to become a violet “Sammy, you didn’t do anything wrong. I wanted you then just as I want you now.” though admitting it out loud caused the blood to rush to her face surely coloring her cheeks at the thought of him in bed once more. This angel was something else and she truly wondered if he knew just how much she would really do for him.
She was afraid of his response for a moment but she refused the idea, knowing in this moment she wanted nothing more than to kiss him and start the fire once more but this time there would be not liquor to cloud the emotions and the pleasures. Lust was a sin and it was one she had condemned to before, it increased the pleasure made it something her body craved but it also effected the other sex with a demon like her would be more intense like playing with fire just to see how long you could take the heat. Yet here she was holding back to protect his light. Something so precious to her that as she watched him grow into the life of a human, he began to turn into a man but not like so many he as generally a good man. Something rare, then he worked hard and he didn’t mind that his hand where rough instead he rarely seemed to notice but she had and the thought alone of how his hand felt against her skin made her pull her hand slowly from his face sitting up straight and swallowing the lump in her throat.
It was dangerous to feel so much and if she wasn’t careful word would get out and she would be locked away and studied only to have to start all over again until nothing was left of her soul. Creating a common monster. She had fear for herself but she worried even more for him, the king had always gotten what he wanted and how would he feel to know one of his chosen women didn’t fawn at the sight of him like all the others. She imagined it would be like an only child with all the toys in the world being forced to share with the other children. What would a Satan sized fit really look like? She shivered at the thought and that worried her because what would he do to her precious Sammy.
Deiliha was laughing at him. Sam stared at her in confused disbelief, wondering what he had said that had tipped her off. He had been serious, but perhaps she thought otherwise. She assured him he'd done nothing wrong, so Sam looked away and considered it. If Deliha really thought he'd been okay--
He was snapped from his thoughts at her touch. Sam looked back to her and concentrated on her eyes. They were changing colors now, and one looked more human than demon. What did that mean? He got lost in the war in her eyes for a few moments, until the demon spoke again.
I wanted you then just as I want you now.
He watched the way the blood pooled in her cheeks after she'd spoken, as if she were embarrassed or ashamed of what she'd said. Sam opened his mouth to respond, but he didn't know how, not with words. His hand found its way to her cheek, cupping it softly, and he was about to draw in for a kiss when Deiliha withdrew. He looked up at her with confused eyes. Had he done something wrong? Sam moved his hand to the back of her head and pushed her gently back to him. His lips came over hers, soft, a question upon them. "Deiliha?" he murmured quietly. Did she really want what she was asking for? His eyes trailed her body and his thoughts returned to last night, at the pieces of memory he retained through the alcohol. Was this wrong now? Did she not want him anymore? But her words, and her actions, why were they contradictions now?
Sam sat back, removing his hand from Deiliha. He watched her silently for a few moments. "I don't want to make you do anything you don't want to do," he said. "But... know that work can wait, if this is what you want. If it isn't... Well, I can wait too."
She had meant to pull back but his hand stopped her and his lips found hers once more and for a moment longer all of it was lost thoughts faded away with the want seeping from his pores. Then he pulled away and for the slightest moment she couldn’t pull together a single thought listening to him speak seemed to pull together. Work could wait but, so would he? He wanted her even now? Sober? Sometimes moments like this she could forget he was an angel and she could see the human pushing through. Was it possible he would wake up one day with no angelic light left? Be nothing but a human? Was she the one sapping his light away? The thought made her internally cringe, what if she was just draining the light from him? Turning him human.
The thoughts plagued her hard leaving a bad taste in her mouth. Her future husband had made this all too easy, he hadn't intervened ever. What if this was his goal to turn an angel human and then when his time came devour his soul with all the rest. Then he wouldn’t be the only fallen angel in hell and that would give him a chance of a lifetime. She had heard stories angels where warriors, soldiers fallowing orders but none of that fit the man in front of her. Was he strong and capable? Yes. He had chosen a job working around heavy things and from watching him he had not struggled with that.
A thought flashed through her mind, it was a hot day the garage was open and she had parked out front waiting on Sam to finish with his day even though she said she was doing paperwork while she waited, she knew damn well nothing was going to get done. She watched him moving around the car shirt off sweat covering his body and when he lifted the things she could tell where heavy her mind only thought of one thing. Hunger for this man, he could lift her against a wall any day. She had watched him until he was done and painted the same smile on her face when he got into the car. It didn’t bother her in fact she loved how he smelled like a man when he came home with her. Sam was like a forbidden fruit she had bitten from and now all she could do was crave him, but what if that was the point?
No! Not right now work could wait as a smile broke through the storm in her eyes and she leaned forward her lips pressing to his. Work could wait, but not her angel.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(evening 6 pm)
She had spent her day with Sam neither had gone to work and it seemed neither one cared, she had slipped away to shower and straighten out the rest of her thoughts. She had spent a day in a self-induced fairy tale knowing it was too perfect between her and him. Something had to go wrong after all it always did, but what would it be this time? No matter how she puzzled it so many different options came to mind and frankly she wasn’t a fan of most of them. After all none of them really equaled the one thing she was determined to have. The hot water was supposed to relax her and that seemed like a joke instead her brain spent far too long trying to piece together a puzzle she didn’t have all the pieces to.
By the time she exited the shower she was mentally more frustrated then she had been earlier but she refused to show it. Wrapping herself in a towel and throwing her hair into another she walked out of the steamy bathroom. Her eyes searching for her delicious little Sammy, maybe not so little. Laughter colored her eyes at the thought as a smirk appeared on her lips. “Hey Sammy how about we go out for dinner tonight?”
Agonizing moments passed between Sam's words and Deiliha's answer. The man could only watch as emotions flashed over his lady's face. She seemed upset; had he been foolish to suggest anything? But then she smiled, and she pressed into him, and Sam knew all would be right, somehow.
---
Sam's eyes fluttered open again and he located Deiliha moving away from him towards the bathroom. It was dark now; how long had they been in bed? They'd spent the day together, without a care in the world, and Sam had to admit, that was its own kind of heaven. In some ways, he felt it was better than the restrictive clouds he'd been born to. Sleepily he sat up in bed. How long had it been since he'd been able to just be with someone all day like this? Had he ever?
It had been a lovely day, in truth. Sam still didn't understand the human feelings he had been forced to adopt, but he was enjoying experiencing them, for the most part. Still, he felt conflicted. What was he feeling? What names did he have for these strange emotions swirling within him? He couldn't admit to them. Deiliha was a demon, was other, was evil, but the way her breath made his heart stop, the way her moans and groans sent him reeling, the way she cuddled to his chest; Sam wouldn't admit it yet, but he was starting to have second thoughts about his plan.
Sam waited for Deiliha to finish her shower. He greeted her when she returned with a big grin. "Dinner sounds very nice," he said. "I should call work too, I guess. Explain why I didn't go in today." He turned towards a clock in the room. It was late; did they want to hear from him? Pulling himself away from bed, Sam began to gather his clothes. "Where did you want to eat?" he asked. "I think somewhere with fine wines would suit the mood for this night, yeah?" With his clothes gathered in his hands, he turned to face her, showing off his bare back. "Shall I wear something fancy then?" he asked. "Maybe you should dress me. We can match."
Laughter fluttered from her lips as he mentioned her dressing him to match, but going somewhere fancy. Now that was a thought she agreed with, luckily, she had the perfect idea a little Italian restaurant up the road. It was harder to get into but she had been there many times on a business and would have not troubles getting in again. Pulling a black bag out of her closet she smiles “I suppose now is as good a time as any. I bought you this.” she handed him the bag hoping he would enjoy her gifts.
In the bag was a black satin button up shirt she had it tailored to fit Sam, along with a nice paid of black pants, at the very bottom of the bag was a box fancy labeling on the front with a nice pair of shoes inside. When he had looked away to see what was inside the bag, she had silently slipped into the closet. Deciding to dress herself to match the angel in a ironic sort of way. It was a simple enough dress white fabric layering a white chiffon. The hem of her skirt fell just above her knees and a simple leather belt wrapped around her waist as she appeared from the closet.
Her hair was wet and mess of waves as the air around her began to shift and warm slightly a smile on her lips as light danced through her eyes “being a child of darkness has its perks.” as she spoke the air shifted around her, her hair blowing in all directions just to fall in a wild mass of black waves. Combing her fingers through before reaching over and grabbing a brush. Taming the mess wasn't going to happen and she wasn't about to try. Leaving it to fall freely as she turned her attention to Sammy. Her eyes darkening at the sight of him, just his precense made her feel more then she had felt in so long but it scared her. She was to be eternally punish for her sins and at some point, this was going to backfire. Deep down she felt it, the calm before the storm but she said nothing merely slid her feet into velvet black heels. Standing tall she smiles “Are we about ready my prince of light?” something she hadn't called him before but she liked it. Question is did he?
Sam eyed Deiliha with a curious gaze, wondering what she was referring to. When she brought out the bag, Sam shifted in his spot. "You really didn't have to," he said. He parted the opening of the bag and peered inside. Pulling out the shirt, Sam sighed at how it felt against his skin, how soft and comfortable this piece of clothing was. He checked out the pants, admiring that they seemed to be specially tailored to him. There was a box too with shiny new shoes. Sam looked over his outfit with childlike excitement. "You really didn't have to get me anything," he said, but when he looked up, Deiliha was gone.
She was in the closet trying on a white dress. Sam raised an eyebrow. This was an ironic match. Sam looked down at his clothes again. Black was the color of demons, and because of that, angels were discouraged from wearing too much of it. Since becoming a man, he'd worn black, but not so much of it, not like this. Deiliha looked natural in white, and that gave the ex-angel pause. This demon commanded his color effortlessly, and Sam wondered what might have happened had they been born in different worlds.
Seeing that Deiliha was already prepared, Sam quickly got dressed. His clothes fit perfectly, but he expected no less from Deiliha. He modeled for her, and he laughed when she referred to him as her prince of light. "Not quite anymore," he murmured, and a sadness lingered with that thought. He shook his head. Approaching Deiliha, he grabbed a curl of her hair. "I think you look gorgeous," he said. "How am I supposed to compete?" He chuckled softly, then turned towards the door. "Did you decide where we are going?"
As he modeled for her, she couldn't help but light up and smile, when he touched her hair and complemented her out fit her heart paused and for a moment she felt like a girl in love. Why couldn't she be human and then her and Sam could live in this bliss forever. He commented about not being a prince of light and her face got a little more serious. Letting him finish about not being able to compete with her, closing the closet door she walked over to him her hands reaching up and cupping his face as the violet colors he brought out in her eyes swirled “Sammy you are always might prince of light. This world is dark but with you around I can feel the sun again. You are the sun.” her eyes seemed so certain of this and there was no trace of lies in her voice, leaning forward she brushed her lips against his feeling the warmth travels her body again making her smile as she drunk in the feel of joy.
She moved to his side looking at their reflection in the mirror and for a moment it was as if they belonged together completely a matching pair dark and light. Though roles were reversed her in white and him in darker colors she still felt like they looked like a picture-perfect couple. “I think we look rather nice together, a matching pair.” tilting her eyes slightly at the thought she laughed and shook her head slightly tossing away the cloud around her own mind “I'm thinking we try this French place. Its fancy called daVinci's.” Sammy liked wine and this place had the best choices something she was sure he would appreciate trying. Smiling she moved towards the door gently pulling him along with her, her arm linked through his as she walked. She enjoyed being close to him and right now she was going to bask in it.
Getting to the car was like a daze and the drive was just as nice. Floating on cloud nine and when they got to the restaurant and where seated it seemed like her own heaven. The joy she felt was the most human she had ever felt and she loved it. She didn’t even notice when the waiter approached them her attention fully on Sam her own angel, even if he didn’t really believe her.
“Oh, darling you look amazing. Did you dress just for me?” her heart from and all light faded and bile rose in the back of her throat when she recognized the cocky voice of a man she didn’t want to see and ruining her night only reminded her very quickly that she wasn’t a human, but a demon. His bride, lifting her cold red eyes to his she smiled a smile more like a doll then the light smiles Sam managed to get from her. Though his voice didn’t stop “You must have known I would come for you eventually. After all me and this man have a deal. I'm thinking it's about time to start this war. He leaned down placing a hand on her cheek and her heart stopped her body going ridged as his eyes darkened “there is something different about you Deiliha. You will go down and see the Ahriman.” it was a order and she knew what it meant she was going to argue but new it would only make this worse for her. She didn’t have a chance to move herself a mist surrounded not black but red, it wasn’t her own magic but his as she was gone.
Lucifer sat in her chair his dark hair falling freely in waves very similar to Sam's but his eyes a few moments ago black with power eyes now gold. Dark clothing similar to Sam's a mock smile on his face “Tell me Sammy did it ever occur to you that sleeping with my future wife may upset me?” he seemed so serious but then he laughed “Actually tell me how was it? I was being a gentleman waiting for marriage and all when I should have realized it would be a easy feat.” running his hand through his hair he shrugged it off “A demon will always be a demon. Cheating is kind of our thing after all. However, you sir I must congratulate you a real sinner yourself.” sleeping with another man's fiance was a pretty good mortal sin after all add that to the one that got him kick in the first place and well, he’d fit right in.
“Any how it was all a test, you see I needed to know I could trust you after all we might be brothers but considering the family record, I needed to be sure.” sobering up he picked up the glass of wine Deliha had ordered that he had managed to slip on the table in the commotion of his arrival but he loved it the chaos. Sipping he smiled “Its sweet... I wonder if she is to.” he was goading Sam with a cocky bravado that was cold and mocking after all pushing buttons was his specialty. The next words made his eyes sparkle “Are you ready to start a war?”
Sam fell in love with the way Deiliha looked at him, the way she talked to him like he really was the love of her life. She seemed so happy, so human, and for a moment Sam completely forgot what was coming. He couldn't think about the war he was about to start or the beings he was about to betray; instead, he could only think of Deilliha, of her beautiful smile, of her glimmering eyes, of her sweet voice giving him all the validation he never got back home.
They started out towards the French restaurant, both of them in another world. While Deiliha drove, Sam could hardly keep his eyes off of her. She really did look stunning in white, and the way her hair was the color of the night just made her outfit stand out even more. He found himself thinking back to her touches, the way her body felt, the way her moans drove him up a wall, and Sam had to look away before he distracted himself too much. What would his family think of him now? But they didn't matter in that moment; he was on a date with the woman he loved, and no one was going to tell him he couldn't have her.
Except her fiance.
Once they were seated, Sam watched as a new character walked up to their table. He noticed the immediate response Deiliha had, the way her shoulders fell and her eyes darken. Sam wanted to do something, to make Lucifer go away and bring back the light to his lady's eyes, but he was powerless. His entire existence as a man relied on Lucifer's help, and he needed to behave. Once they were whisked away from the restaurant, Sam found a familiar sense of dread filling his stomach. Once again he was being wretched from his home, and there was nothing he could do about it.
As Lucifer mocked him, Sam could only stand in silence. Was it a sin to cheat with the bride of a bastard? He clenched his teeth and finally couldn't keep himself from speaking up. "Demons don't celebrate the same marriages as angels do," he muttered. "There's no rule saying you can't sleep with your fiance anyway. What would happen? You think Adainmelhye would send you to hell?" His joke fell flat and he looked away. Was there anything he could say to get Lucifer to leave Deiliha alone? He cleared his throat. "She was lovely, by the way," he muttered under his breath, a stupid idea, but a move he felt he had to make, as if to say, She's mine, not yours.
Sam's frown tightened with Lucifer's question. Was he ready to start a war? Sam thought back to his fall, to when he found himself alone and abandoned on earth. He'd wanted nothing more to return home, to prove to his brethren that he could be a good angel. But now... Sam shifted uncomfortably. Deiliha felt more like home than the clouds ever had. Was he really about to pit her against his brothers and his sisters, his teachers and his god?
Looking back to Lucifer, there was a flame burning in Sam's eyes. He had come this far. "I'm ready," he said, determination dripping from his voice, "to show the heavens the mistakes they've made."
She had been sent away like a scolded child and when the fog lifted, she knew exactly what was in store for her, a sigh of defeat echoed from her lips as a demon marred and scarred approached her a gruesome smile on his lips “I've heard about your romp with the angels. You even have a trace of light in you. I've been ordered to hammer it out in any way possible.” her laughed and placed his hand under her chin and when she went to jerk away, she quickly learned that not only had she been teleported but now she was also bound to the chair. Anger flashed through her body in a storm that did her absolutely no good. She had been so blinded by her own rage she didn't see the demon pull a knife running the blade down her cheek fire flowed through her blood as a scream escaped her lips. The demon laughed words rolling from his tongue in a false seductive purr “I'm going to have fun with you.”
She knew it was going to be bad but the pain was so bad her mind wanted nothing more than to shut down as the demon laid her out and began slicing at her bits. She could only hope Sammy was alright and that the devil wouldn't punish him as well erasing the light she loved in him so much. The light in her must have been noticed because the demon hissed and in the next moment the knife was pushed all the way into her stomach and with a quick jerk, he twisted the blade. Blood split from her mouth as tears of pain rolled down her face. Was this demon going to end her for sleeping with an angel? Was she a tarator to demon kind now? No, she knew death would be to easy a way out only fools hoped for.
Luci laughed a cold sound that showed no real joy “Sounds like you don't exactly have a plan for this so why don't i purpose one myself?” taking a pause he sips the drink that had belonged to Deiliha and sighed in contentment “That girl always had the best taste for things. Sometimes it was even like light could find its way into her dark heart.” shrugging it off he smiled “But you already knew that didn't you Sammy? “his name rolled of the man's tongue like a curse, with no warmth Deiliha had shown him before. Though he didn't really care about the answer he rolled his eyes “Any how back to business.”
Waving his hand over the table a map of sorts began to form from shadows displaying the gates of heaven “I'm thinking we go right to the front door. Stopping the souls from enter heaven and stirring the angels and our father up into a frenzy. Then in the next wave send in the lesser.” black demons began to form in all shapes and shadows charging towards the gate, in a wave of darkness it started to display a fight. Then the devil himself smiled “Among the chaos we will lead more groups around the sides and start a attack from all angles. Eventually they will run out of angels to fight the hoards. After all hell has many souls to offer for this cause and I'm more than willing to end them for this. Father needs to know what he did and learn to regret his choice as his two outcast sons finally come home.” leaning back on the chair he smirked very confident in his plan. His eyes seemed to dance with the thought of lives being ended for his cause and he sighed leaning over the map and battle vanishing “what do you think Sam. Are you ready to go home?”
Sam didn't know where Lucifer had sent Deiliha, but he had a feeling he would not find out. He straightened in his seat, hating this bastard's arrogance. The way he talked down to him, the way he walked about Deiliha as if she were just a memory; he was making Sam's blood boil. He told himself to let it go, that it would be worth it, that the devil himself would get what was coming to him.
He listened to the devil talk, listened to the way her referred to his god. Sam's eyes fell to the map he conjured warily, watching the figures dance across it. They would ambush the pearly gates, would stomp out the angels, would overcome them with sheer numbers. In theory, it would work; the angels were too peaceful to want to stop the outburst right away, and that hesitation would surely cost them the war. A smile played over his face as he thought of it, the end of heaven, of angelkind, before sense came back to him. What was he doing? Sam had made this deal in the first place to only play devil's advocate; he had every intention of turning on the demons, on saving his home in the sky. Now, as he thought of this battle he'd begun, he wondered what would happen to Deiliha. More than he wanted to be an angel again, he wanted to be in her arms.
Sam turned back to Lucifer and nodded. "I've been ready since they threw me out," he spat, not even having to fake the rage at that. His hands shook the slightest bit, though he didn't know from what. Anger? Fear? Determination? Hesitation? He tried to shake his thoughts, but his mind was deep in a fog. He had to alert Adainmelhye, Ursupala, someone. But when would he get the chance? And when would he be able to find Deiliha again? Not able to take it any longer, he asked, "Where is she? She was supposed to do this with us."
