Prisoner 49-0327:

Good morning.

It is now Thursday, August 1, 2143 09:43 AM Earth GMT.

Your appeal has been rejected, and you have been scheduled for termination on Tuesday, December 31, 2143 at 11:45 PM.

However, you may still be of use to the Corporation.

On May 1, 2143, the Corporation won the rights to the Lyca system, on the edge of Known Space. Lyca IV is a gas giant, suitable for fuel processing. Gamma, the third of Lyca IV's moons, has a breathable nitrogen/oxygen atmosphere but is subject to extreme low temperatures during its night cycle. It is primarily covered by water, but there is one island.

Survey probes have discovered an artifical structure on Gamma's island. This structure is not of human origin. As the other planets of the Lyca system are incapable of supporting life and none has been identified on Gamma, we assume this structure is of extraterrestrial origin.

The survey crew reported the structure to the Corporation, then followed protocol by landing a survey team to explore the structure.

Robotic explorer units were deployed, but were disabled when they crossed into the structure. Units were recovered and examined, no fault was found. Further examination suggested their systems were overwhelmed by random magnetic fluctuations. Two units were shielded and sent in.

They did not return.

Five of the human crew volunteered to enter the structure. Communication was lost immediately on entering the structure. A fiber optic tether was provided for wired communication, but communication was lost 45 minutes after entering the structure.

They did not return.

Your mission objectives:
1. Explore the structure.
2. Recover whatever remains of the Survey Team.

Because this mission is rated as Extremely Dangerous, please note the following conditions:

1. Attempt to escape or tamper with your security collars will result in your immediate termination.
2. Failure to achieve mission objectives will result in your immediate termination.
3. If you are able to only discover what happened to the Survey Team, your sentences will be commuted to life imprisonment (without suspended animation).
4. Recovering a dead body belonging to the Survey Team will reduce the term of your sentence by two years.
5. Rescuing a surviving member of the Survey Team will reduce the term of your sentence by five years.
6. Terminating a surviving member of the Survey Team or a member of the crew delivering you to the planet will result in your immediate termination.
7. Disable whatever is affecting robots and communications will reduce the term of your sentence by ten years.
8. Provide substantial information on the purpose of this structure, your record will be expunged and you will be released on the inhabitable planet or station of your choosing.
9. A Corporate Expert System will be provided to assist and monitor you while you are on Gamma. Failure to return with the Corporate Expert System will count against your sentencing and may delay your rescue from Gamma.
10. Any unauthorized departures from the surface are subject to immediate destruction by the Corporate ship in orbit.

Please state if you accept this mission.

With the rapid rate of human expansion, it is the corporations who are leading the way. While subject to various Human Confederation laws regarding the rights of sentient beings, crimes committed in Corporate locations - ships, stations, or colonies - are subject to Corporate Law.

While you may have been contracted by the corporation to work at one of their mines, farms, factories, or corporate offices, after ten years of service (good conduct) you would be entitled to a plot on a corporate colony world. Additional terms would qualify you for a larger plot.

But you were convicted of a crime by the Corporate Legal System - and a serious one at that. Instead of a colony retirement plot, you're looking at death or life-imprisonment, frozen in suspended animation in a drawer in the lowest level of the prison complex. Rumors are that the "corpsicles" are raided for their organs.

You have been confined to Prison Facility 49 until final disposition of your case.

A Corporate Expert System is a Tempest-shielded android with limited Artificial Intelligence (property, not person) containing personality cores, allowing the core to act as an expert in a particular field.

The Corporate Expert System assigned to this mission has the following cores installed:

Bones (Medical)
Scotty (Engineering)
Spock (Science)
Rand (Administrative)

These systems are nicknamed "Schizo" as they can sometimes flip rapidly between each personality as they fight for control. Physically, it is limited to baseline human abilities. As it will also act as your remote monitor, failure to bring it back will weigh against you.

Primarily human, however aliens are allowed - but nothing with extreme powers or abilities, otherwise how did we capture you? A small advantage is allowed - low-light vision, heighten sense of smell, sonar/sensitive hearing, etc. A bipedal wolf, for example, with a superior sense of smell & hearing, low light vision, tough hide, claws, teeth, enhanced reflexes and strength is right out. Too many advantages.

Hive mind creatures are also out - if one of you committed a crime, you're all guilty.

Also you need to be able to survive with only limited augmentation of life support (e.g. Abe Sapien with his water rebreather from Hellboy) - I'm not sending a methane breather requiring specialized atmosphere and containment to an nitrogen/oxygen moon. You have to be able to work within a standard atmosphere.

Augments - talk to me about what is allowed, as they must be limited.

Artificial beings (aka Call from Alien: Resurection) are allowed as long as their abilities are baseline human. Military units are destroyed, not captured, so you must be a non-military type. Limit of two artificial beings - they are surprisingly rare and criminals are rarer.

Prisoner number: 49-0245

Prisoner name: Ivy Rae Tyler

Race: Human

Sex: Female

Age: 24

Favorite Food: Mexican

Augments: None, she isn't fond of medical procedures.
https://images.britcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/DSC_0829-645x817.jpgConviction: 42 counts of murder

Sentence: Death

Specialty: Forensic Analyst / Crime Scene Investigator

Prisoner History: Ivy was born on a Jupiter 12, a colony station in orbit of Jupiter, her parents were upper middle class, her father worked as a foreman in the engineering department and her mother was a school teacher aboard the station. She excelled in school and was accepted for a scholarship on earth. Like she had in the schools on the station Ivy was top of her class until her senior year, when doctors discovered a tumor in her brain near the lateral frontal pole. The doctors were able to remove the tumor but there was some damage already done and the area of her brain was still degrading. She was forced to take a year off from school but returned afterward to finish her degree. None of the doctors knew this at the time but the damage to her lateral frontal pole affected her sense of right or wrong. She didn’t realize anything was wrong at first but as time moved on she began to realize her judgment was impaired.

By then she had already moved back to the Jupiter 12 station and taken a job with the corporation security forces. She was hired on as a Forensic Analyst and was later promoted to also work as a crime scene investigator. When she started responding to crime scenes she couldn’t help but think about how she could commit the crimes better without getting caught. Her first crime was the murder of a man the security forces suspected was selling drugs, she was thrilled by the fact the security forces couldn’t pin the case to her. From there she commit another murder and another, each time she was able to misdirect the evidence away from her.

It became a game to her to find out more elaborate ways to commit murders. After a while she began framing others for the crimes. Her downfall was when she killed a prominent station leader and tried pinning the murder on a rival politician. The station with the high number of cold cases brought in specialized team from Earth and cut all station personal out of the investigation. The Earth team was able identify Ivy as the killer and soon began looking into her other cases. They were able to connect 42 of the unsolved cases to Ivy. She was tried and convicted of the murders then given a death sentence. What the station in unaware of is Ivy was never connected to 13 more murders.

Mental status: Her mental state began as merely have trouble determining what was right or wrong but over the years it has lessened to the point were she does and says whatever she wants. A kill order has been placed on Ivy if she gets out of line.

Weapons: Ivy carries with her a Glock 41 Gen 4 (http://oakhillguns.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/g/l/glock-g41-gen4.jpg), her former service weapon. When she was on her killing spree Ivy tended to use objects at the scene of the crime rather then bring a weapon. She usually would use whatever she found handy, therefor allowing her to be versatile with her ability.

Personal Gear: A portable, hand-held computer that can be used to scan crime scene allowing her to do data analyze outside of a lab. (For the mission only). A book or two, Ivy always has a couple books from the prison library. A pair of reading glasses (http://www.newbeefashion.com/ebay/RF9053/mainblk1.jpg), she is far-sighted and has trouble reading up close. She never had her eyes corrected with surgery not wanting to have surgery again after the tumor was removed.

Prisoner Number: 49-7042
Prisoner Name: ORI-7042 aka "Rigel"
Race: Android
Sex: None, but has a male voice
Age: Was built 9 years ago
Favorite Food: 240v 10A
Augments: None
Description:
http://www.cruzine.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/013-mustsee-concept-art-tonatiuh-ocampo.jpg

Conviction: Arson, Several counts of murder, Resisting Arrest
Sentence: 87 "Life" Sentences
Specialty: Engineering

Prisoner History: The working android ORI-7042, or "Rigel" as he prefers to be called, was manufactured by the Orion Corporation on the Earth's moon. He, along with the many other identical androids serving around him, was built for the purpose of being easily acquired, disposable laborers in the mining colonies. These androids were designed to be personable, unable to act aggressively towards humans. Unfortunately for his producers, Rigel, along with three other of his android partners (christening themselves "Saiph", "Bellatrix", and "Betelgeuse") had fatal flaws embedded in their systems.

Upon learning of their purpose as disposable tools, these four androids went rogue, rampaging through the facility destroying anything in their paths. (wip)

Mental Status: Most of the time, Rigel is quite polite and agreeable, as his manufacturers intended. Unfortunately, what they didn't intend was for his circuitry to be misproduced, causing uncontrollable flashes of mania or anger. He is a tad sadisctic, taking pleasure at the expense of others. As such, he makes a lot of snide, insulting jokes. He has also developed a touch of pyromania. You might want to keep him away from anything burning. Note: Robot is one of his trigger words. Please don't call him a robot. You will regret that.

Weapons: None, but he does have a mean punch considering his hands are made of metal
Equipment: Toolkit of spare parts and equipment needed to repair himself or other mechanical objects

Prisoner number: 49-1917
Prisoner name: Ted
Race: Human
Sex: Male
Age: 18
Favorite Food: Mashed potatoes
Augments: n/a
Description: A nondescript white male, Caucasian. Approximately 5'5'' and 180 pounds. Short blonde hair, clean-shaven.

Conviction: Jay-walking, causing a truck full of hazardous/explosive material to veer off its path, crashing into the support for an overpass, causing the payload to explode and collapse said overpass, causing a terrible traffic situation for a month while the overpass was repaired. Because it was a highway (and therefore nobody should be walking there anyways) and because of some dubious material found in the home, this was classified as an act of terrorism.
Sentence: Life Imprisonment
Speciality: Electronics. For bomb-making.

Prisoner History: Born a boring man in a boring world, there was plenty of plastic, but it wasn’t so fantastic. Ted had an average childhood where his mother was horribly mutated by chemicals while at work (which the company refused to take responsibility for), where his father abused him (and eventually ate his own gun out of self-loathing), and his teachers adored him (a few doing so a little too much).

Needless to say, he just wanted more love. Naturally, he found the wonders of the dark corners of the internet where he met all kinds of friends. One day a new friend of his suggested that he put his hours of reading technical books (the only books he could get) in a corner while he cried himself to sleep to good use. That was, of course, code for making bombs and Ted knew it. At this point though, he was going through that angsty set-the-world-on-fire teenage stage of his life and the feel-like-I'm-immortal phase. For the most part he was sent the raw materials and then he put them together however he saw fit. Then he sent them back and made sure to watch the 6 o'clock news.

Then his friend had a new request. There was an overpass that needed a bit of demolition work. For it, the bomb had to be more specialized. Unfortunately, Ted could not figure out how to build the bomb even when he was given a schematic for it. Angry and determined not to disappoint, he stalled as long as he could until he came up with a simple plan. He knew that the overpass was nearby and knew that trucks with explosive/hazardous material frequently passed under it. In fact, part of the original plan was to detonate the bomb when one of those trucks passed through to maximize the damage. As the bomb was not forthcoming and the deadline was near, he figured to skip to the latter half of the plan. As it turned out, the plan worked perfectly. And then he got caught.

Mental status: Sane-ish and angsty.

Weapons: Semi-automatic pistol
Personal Gear: The schematic that Ted’s friend sent him! They let him keep it! Well, after he hid it in... interesting places.

Prisoner number: 49-0849

Prisoner name: Sonia Martinez

Race: Human (mixed Caucasian / Hispanic ethnicity)

Sex: Female

Age: 38

Favorite Food: Anything, as long as it's home cooked. Her mother was rather militant about this, and it stuck

Augments: None

Description: Sonia is a lean, imposing woman, with a hard, diamond-shaped face and a stone-cold glare that would stop most challengers in their tracks. She has dark brown eyes and a broad nose, set above a narrow mouth and chin. Her short brown hair is unkempt, and beginning to grow out. Her skin is fawn-toned and she sports distinctive gang tattoos on her face and upper arms, which take the form of jagged swirls.

Conviction: Attempted murder, and a whole load of unproven ones

Sentence: Life Imprisonment

Speciality: Former gang hitman

Prisoner History: Fast learning, naturally athletic and with a keen eye for practical problem solving, Sonia would have had all the makings of a successful woman if she had been born anywhere but the chronically underfunded ghettoes of New Detroit. In an area where youth unemployment ran close to 50%, and a brutally discriminatory justice system funnelled many youngsters straight from school into prison, the most attractive option for many was to run with the narco-gangs that dominated the ghetto streets. At least they offered a wage, and some semblance of belonging.

Sonia committed her first theft at 14, and her first murder at 17, when almost without meaning to she fired a stub revolver into a street fight and claimed the life of a teenage boy from a rival gang. Over the years she gained prominence - too introverted to ever lead, but clever and cold enough to become one of the gang's premier fixers and hitmen.

Her luck ran out when she was sent to assassinate a local politician, who had long been in the gang's pocket but was no longer toeing the desired line. Captured instead by the politician's bodyguards, it was of course Sonia and not the gang boss who took the fall for the attempted murder.

Mental Status: Sane, although a hard life has built up many walls in her mind - probably too many to fully break down again. She is taciturn and slow to trust, and has an ingrained hatred for most authority figures. She does however prize loyalty and community, even though - or perhaps because - she herself is so seldom accepted into one.

Weapons: Experienced with semi-automatic pistols, pump action shotguns, light automatics and hand grenades. She'll take what she can get from the offered armoury.

Personal Gear: Prison Omni (which she rarely uses), a couple of old war novels, lighter and cigarettes, and clothes.

Ok guys - some questions have come up, so I've modified the character sheet.

Weapons of this era are still the guns we know today. Shotguns, derringers, revolvers, and semi-automatics allowed. Bombs are not.

Energy weapons do not scale down to handhelds yet.

Equipment is being replaced by Personal Gear - basically everyone is issued a "ditty box" to hold their personal items. This thin-wall but durable box is 15 inches long by 12 inches wide by 10 inches tall. This is not to hold your clothes - that's a separate box. Think keepsakes - a print bible, for example, not the Gideon ebook.

Most papers and pictures are electronic format, you can have them printed out on "plas" - thin plastic sheets.

In your civilian life, you would have used Omnis - these are handheld computers that resemble today's smart phones - but these are smarter, with the computing power of top-rated gaming rig and synthetic diamond chip sets. While most use cloud backup, Omnis have one external memory slot. The memory chips are available as MicroSD cards offered in 4tb, 8tb, 16tb, 32tb, 64tb, and 128tb capacity.

Prison-issued Omnis are more rugged. They have no external memory slots, you have access to a prison account for all media (very restricted on what's allowed) and cannot access anything outside the prison network. If you take one out of the prison facility, it becomes a doorstop.

Synthetics (androids) typically do not need to eat organic food. Some may take in lubricants and coolants to top off internal tanks. You probably have an internal reactor for power, so your food would be what your reactor takes in - probably distilled water for a micro-hydrogen generator. A pint should last you all year. Or perhaps you're a recharging model - so your favorite food will be your charging voltage, perhaps 240V 10A? Let me know how long that'll last you.

Player: Potatrobot
Prisoner number: 49-8750
Prisoner name: Max Stone (Sometimes called Mad Max)
Race: Android
Sex: Male
Age: 38
Favorite Food: 240 volts at 10 amps, with a 2 day battery life.
Augments: Four arms.
Description: Max occupies a matte-black, bulky humanoid frame, slightly larger than life, and built for heavy lifting. Two strong legs support his armoured hull while four powerful arms lift objects weighing as much as a tonne. His head resembles a skull without a lower jaw, with a crown-like row of squared ridges at the top of his forehead. His eyes are a pair of deep-set, red, glaring lights.

Conviction: Pre-armature deadlock: 4 cases of manslaughter; 5 cases of permanent injury; avoiding arrest, resulting in deadlock. Post-armature deadlock: 6 cases of manslaughter, resulting in death-sentence.
Sentence: Permanent deactivation.
Speciality: Physical labour.

Prisoner History: Max Stone, believe it or not, was once human; a very aggressive thug-type with an affinity for knives. Over the course of his life, he had built a resume that boasted a capacity for hired violence, and a criminal record that could attest. After committing the latest crimes to go on said record, he found himself on the run.

At the time, the colony he lived on was enjoying the presence of the New Light movement, wherein the sick, the dying, the homeless and the depressed had the option to upload their consciousnesses into a vast matrix, creating an artificial but tangle afterlife where they could exist free from the troubles of life. However, this included most of the population of the colony, and after criminals like Max began using it to escape punishment for their crimes, the colony's Corporation stepped in, abolishing the movement. Members who had transcended to the matrix were downloaded and housed in work robots of all types, ensuring that everyone was a functioning member of society, whether they liked it or not.

Max, not being particularly bright or skilled in anything useful, was given what amounted to a muscle robot and stationed in a warehouse, where he would lift and sort heavy shipping crates day in and out. After a brief adjustment period, Max became used to this new body and his lot in what would turn out to be a very long life, but old habits die hard. It was at that point that the Corporation realised that before they put convicted criminals into giant robot bodies with four arms, they should put measures in place to ensure their cooperation. Max was soon neutralised and his 'soul' was put on death row.

Mental status: Max is sane, though his violent tendencies survived the transition from his human body to his robotic one unscathed. Having willingly given up his mortal body to escape his crimes, Max is content with his new chassis. He even finds it exciting sometimes, when he could pick up a one-tonne shipping crate and lift it over his head. This can often cause him to get carried away.

Weapons: Three large, composite blades. Two knives, holstered in his lower-two arms, and a large sword, clipped onto his back. Each was built specifically for Max's use for the mission, and have thick, square hilts and segmented, trapezoidal blades.
Personal Gear: A toolbox and numerous spare parts for performing repairs on himself, as well as a prison Omni.

Prisoner number: 49-7777

Prisoner name: Allister Caine

Race: Human

Sex: Male

Age: 41

Favorite Food: Egg in a basket

Augments:
- Hardened alloy prosthetic left forearm
- Bionic left eye with rudimentary target highlighting capabilities and a built-in flashlight

Description:

http://i66.tinypic.com/2e3tt0j.jpg

Conviction: Multiple counts of piracy, corporate espionage, large-scale theft, smuggling contraband, and murder

Sentence: Death

Speciality: Sharpshooting (up to medium range), setting ambushes, smuggling, space piracy

Prisoner History:

Caine has been a pirate for as long as he could remember. His mother was a prostitute and his father was dead, and neither of them wanted anything to do with children of any sort. One week after he was born, his mother stashed him away at the nearest space port, leaving him to the hands of fate.

As chance would have it, he survived. An old theater veteran who frequented the docks stumbled upon him crying behind a stack of cargo crates. Filled with pity, the old man took the boy under his wing and raised him for the most part of his early childhood. His love for the Wild West eventually rubbed off on the young boy who would be Caine.

At around age 9, a band of pirates rolled up into the settlement and ransacked everything, leaving no survivors except for a handful of young boys to be shanghaied and press-ganged into servitude. The boy was one of these lucky unlucky ones to be drafted. Like the others, they took away his name and replaced it with a number. He was picked seventh, so his name was seven.

At first, he was a simple cabin boy, doing errands, cleaning and other menial and demeaning jobs the rest of the crew didn't want to do. It was a thankless job, and often came with bouts of physical abuse here and there, but the boy held strong and toughed it out.

Fate smiled upon him once more as one day, he was promoted. No longer a part of the lowest class in the ship hierarchy, he was given the chance to choose a name. The boy chose a name from a story his foster father used to tell to him, one that stuck with him through the years. That name was Allister Caine.

Through the years, he rose through the ranks, eventually becoming first mate of the ship that first took him away. It was during one particular mission when he lost his left arm and left eye. He and his crew were tasked to raid a rival ship for precious loot. The rival crew were more in number than they expected, and intense fighting broke out on the two decks. The enemy captain, much bigger and stronger than he was, managed to lop off his arm just above the elbow when he had his back turned. The eye came soon after when a swing from a machete came towards his face. He stepped back, but not enough. It caught him in the eye and sent him reeling.

The fight was won, but the losses were significant. Not being one to want to die, he delivered the package to a shady doctor instead of his boss in exchange for brand new prosthetics and augments for his stump arm and gouged eye. This didn't sit too well with the higher-ups, and as punishment, they sent him and what was left of his crew on a suicide mission to retrieve yet another pack of valuable cargo, this time on a corporation convoy.

The initial attack went well enough, although the execution was a bit sloppy. Unfortunately, reinforcements came much quicker than anticipated and the pirates were figuratively caught with their pants down. The rest of the crew made a break for it, leaving Caine a sitting duck in one of the corporation cargo ships. Needless to say, he was caught, tried, and sentenced to death.

He was given the prisoner number 49-7777, which amused him greatly, aside from the fact that he was on death row. It was just something to smile at in the midst of all the bad, I suppose. Fortunately for him, he got news of a chance to escape the metaphorical axing. Eagerly, he leapt at the chance for a new life. From there, the rest is history.

Mental status: Sane. Smug, ballsy, and a pain in the ass in general, but still perfectly sane.

Weapons: Seven-shot revolver, semi-automatic pistol, machete

Personal Gear: A small carton of cigarettes, a weatherproof lighter, some small tools for prosthetics maintenance

Prisoner number: 49-1199
Prisoner name: Nosau
Race: Canid
Sex: Male
Age: 29 (hates dog year jokes)
Favorite Food: Anything with beef or pork
Augments: Natural claws, teeth, and a good sense of hearing and smell.
Description: About six foot seven, standing.

7090

Conviction: Two counts of justified homicide, six counts of murder, 84 counts of 'conspiracy to commit murder'.
Sentence: Death
Speciality: Scouting and analysis

Prisoner History: It's a hard time to be alive. This is true for all life in the galaxy, including those of Nosau's kind. Nosau was able to make it through college by signing a contract with a security force, not unlike a military contract. He would finish his degree (in his case, in the field of forensics and intelligence) and then work under the Corporation for ten years. It seemed like a good deal.

He was shipped out to a mining facility in the asteroid belt. There, they would mass process the asteroids for the various elements contained within, largely nickel and iron. Everything would be then be shipped wherever it needed to be. Life would go on as needed, albeit in the boring vacuum of space.

Everyone tried their best to be friendly, considering their situation. Nosau bonded with one human in particular - a woman named Elise. Elise was one of the base laborers, responsible for hollowing out the asteroid to inspect for rarer minerals.

Nosau was working his shift one 'night', after they had pulled in an asteroid roughly 20 miles in diameter for processing. The crew began their work, hollowing the asteroid in pockets. Elise was missing. Nosau used his keen sense of smell to track her scent, into one of the hollows. She was dead, and had been murdered with one of the miner's drills from the wounds inflicted on her body. Before death she had been raped.

Working with the rest of the security crew, and using his knowledge of forensics, they narrowed their search to six men. Two were miners, two worked in the cafeteria, and two were pilots. Nosau went to interrogate them alone, disregarding protocol. In hindsight, this was the one thing he would regret. He found the six men in the engine room, discussing what to do now that 'the mutt was sniffing around'. The men had done this before and would again. Nosau attempted to arrest them, and they resisted.

Two of the miners had a rivet gun, illegally modified to fire long ranges. A ricochet took Nosau's eye, and drove him into a rage. He killed the six of them. In the process, the engine was damaged, enough to compromise the mission. The engineers were able to fix the damage, but the lawyers back planetside made the argument that while he had been right to defend himself from the men that were armed, the other four had been unarmed and were therefore murdered. Along with this, they insisted that in his rage he had damaged the engines on purpose, intending to take out himself and the rest of the station, and the other 84 workers on board. He was found guilty.

Mental status: Sane.

Weapons: Claw/teeth, an automatic rifle, and a combat knife.
Equipment: Photo of Elise, as well as three changes of clothes. A file for his nails, and an industrial grade toothbrush for his teeth. OTC antacids, in the form of Tums.

Crainium
08-06-2016, 11:48 AM
Player: Crainium

Prisoner number: 47-7606
Prisoner name: Croak
Race: Human Hybrid (Human/Frog)
Sex: Asexual, though he presents as male
Age: 18
Favorite Food: insect larvae
Augments: None
Description:
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g278/Locklyn/Male%20Characters/Frogman.jpg (http://s58.photobucket.com/user/Locklyn/media/Male%20Characters/Frogman.jpg.html)

Conviction: Grand larceny, robbery, breaking and entering, Assault with a deadly weapon, one count of involuntary manslaughter and five counts of second degree murder.

Sentence: Life Imprisonment
Specialty: As an artificial amphibian, Croak is comfortable on the land but thrives underwater. Croak is an excellent swimmer and can remain underwater indefinitely. His vision is near perfect underwater, as well. On land, he is quite agile and is capable of leaping incredible heights. Though his legs are inhumanly powerful, his upper body strength is equivalent to that of a regularly-exercised human. Croak has an elastic tongue capable of projecting roughly five feet from his mouth that he uses to catch bugs and distract his attackers.

Prisoner History: Croak is the result of covert experiments to merge human DNA with that of an amphibian, specifically the Bufo Alvarius or the Psychedelic Toad. The goal was to create a soldier who could last under water for an extended period of time without extra equipment and also produce neurotoxins naturally to prepare him for any combat situation. Most importantly, they wanted to know if they could. Croak was their answer. After 15 years of raising him, educating him and then training him to fight, incapacitate and kill, it was determined Croak could not do anything a machine could not do better and the project was scrapped.

It was intended that Croak would be terminated and disposed of as a liability and possible leak of government technologies but the head of the project argued that Croak was an investment of millions of dollars and countless man hours with very interesting genetic traits that could be studied for more information and possible improved attempts in the future. This appeal was accepted on the stipulation that Croak was released into the world with an identity and back story showing him as an alien, not a genetically engineered specimen.

On his own, Croak was unable to adjust to life in the city. His irregular features were unsettling to look at and his skin looked diseased with the bumps from his toad genetics. There was also the smell; Croak gave of a bittersweet almost rotting smell from his venom glands that made many people gag and a few even vomit in passing. Croak was unable to find steady work due to “hygiene problems” and when he was able to find work he could not keep the job due to his lack of everyday social skills and his inability to express his emotions without violence. It wasn’t long before Croak found himself on the streets with no money, no job and nothing going for him. It was then that he turned to crime. At first, he stole to survive; food mostly. However, he soon discovered, he was not the only thief on the streets. He was attacked, beaten and was thus conscripted into a local gang to perform joint thefts and assaults on anyone they could find who appeared to have more than a few bucks to rub together. From there Croak was encouraged to increase his thefts and began stealing cars and breaking into homes, businesses and warehouses. It was during this time that the gang discovered Croak’s natural narcotic and he became very popular with the gang at the end of the day when they all crawled back into their shacks constructed out of found debris, each taking a lick and falling into bed with the chemicals being the only pleasant experience of the day.

However, the escalation in crime drew the attention of law enforcement and Croak and half of his gang were caught by the police and imprisoned; each with an impressive list of crimes added to their rap sheets. However, the laws of the streets did not correspond the loyalty Croak had learned during his training with the scientists and, in an attempt to reduce their own sentences, the rest of the gang fingered him as the ring-leader and as the perpetrator for a whole list of crimes committed before he had even joined the gang. As a result, Croak was given 50 years while the others were given only three.

In prison, Croak was quickly singled out as a scapegoat, partially due to his appearance and partially because, without his venom being consumed, his odor became more and more unbearable. He became a target for those wanting to vent frustration, anger or just plain boredom. However, Croak had been trained to fight back and was able to repel single attackers. When a group of prisoners came at him, armed with cell-made weapons, Croak was forced to defend himself with vigor. His strikes with fist and foot were efficient and deadly and when the scuffle was over five of Croak’s fellow prisoners lay dead, three more left in critical condition. It was determined that, while he was justified in defending himself, Croak had used excessive force that had resulting in multiple deaths and his sentence was commuted to life in prison without parole.

Mental status: Though he has issues with anger, Croak is completely sane.

Weapons: Cloak possesses glands on either side of his jaw and all over his back that secrete a natural toxin that can be applied orally or through skin-to-skin contact. Croak has a club with a threaded end to facilitate the administration of his toxin and a harpoon gun attached to his wrist specifically designed to be used underwater.

Personal Gear: 1. Spray bottle with attached condenser to provide Croak with necessary skin hydration as needed. 2. Canister of dried Dangorah Dragon Flies (a preferred snack and necessary for required nutrients). 3. Small tool set with various basic tools.

Mad Max and Croak have been approved! Welcome aboard, gentlemen!

Croak, you're coming from another facility, so you're being revived in the cargo hold of a fast courier as we speak by men wearing hazmat suits. Like the others, you're wearing a security collar around your neck. After docking with the Prison Barge, you will be put into the airlock for transfer with your prison ditty box.

Mad Max, you've been revived inside an external cargo compartment of a drop pod, strapped to the bulkhead.

Next one, minimum character age to be 21.

Prisoner number: 49-2561
Prisoner name: Kimberly McDonnough
Race: Human
Sex: Female
Age: 36
Favorite Food: chocolate

Augments: (if approved:) scientific calculator embedded in her left forearm, accessible by thought

Description: Kimberly's heritage spans the world. Her mixture, considered exotic when she was a fresh bloom, settled into slightly odd as she enters her middle years. The stress of prison life has not helped her appearances. She is just above average in height, but thin enough to appear unhealthy. Her dark brown hair has thinned and is cut in a generic, unflattering prison bob. Her wide facial features appear exaggerated due to her weight loss.

Conviction: Embezzlement, because that retirement plan just wasn't good enough
Sentence: Life Imprisonment
Specialty: accounting, spreadsheets, database queries, statistics, economics

Prisoner History:

Kimberly had served halfway through her second term as a corporate accountant, and her husband, Michael, was likewise well into his second as well, in the public relations department. As such, they would have been entitled to a duplex of larger plots on a colony world. But that's not what they wanted. Their goal was to retire Earthside, and avoid the hassles of colony life. So they tried to secure the favor of one member of the board of directors by undermining his rival.

Kimberly moved some numbers around on the accounting sheets, skimming a bit off into several accounts on the side for just in case, while Michael set up a smear campaign accusing the rival of fraud. The plan worked beautifully, resulting in some wonderful bad publicity for the disgraced target, who accepted an 'early retirement package' from the Corporation. But instead of thanking Aurora and her husband for their services, the director threw them into prison, claiming for himself the sanctuary of the whistle-blower. He successfully refuted any part of the whole operation, despite their polygraphed statements of his involvement.

In the end, Kimberly and Michael were both convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment. Only the knowledge of an account that wasn't discovered by the prosecution keeps depression at bay. If there's any chance at all of getting clear of the Corporation, wealth is just a passcode away.

Mental status: Asberger's

Weapons: no professional training or related hobby, so basic mission spec if any

Personal Gear: family photos, two decks of cards, colored plasti-chips, a variety of dice, her prison Omni, a laptop, an e-reader, a handful of memory cards

Note: I intentionally left Michael's fate open ended, without specifying if he was even in the same prison or not. I'm open to Michael being PC, NPC or the hostage left behind to ensure Kimberly's continued good behavior.

Oooh, I like this "ordinary person" who finds herself in extraordinary circumstances. Accepted!

Most people use Omnis - basically very much like a modern smartphone/small tablet but with actual computing power to run full-blown programs, not lightweight apps. As a prisoner, you're usually issued a Prison Omni that has no ports for inserting card drives, everything is done over the prison network (And outside that prison, it can't connect so is a useless brick). I'll allow the laptop and electric reader in your prison ditty box. You'll be one of the prisoners who came on the prison barge.

8/7 - Ok, one post from Crainium - rise and shine, people!

This is true! Croak was being transported from a separate facility so he was being handled differently, requiring transfer to the prison barge in orbit over Gamma. This was in case of delays in approving his bio. Cool, I'll bear that in mind for when I have time to make another post. For anyone else who wants to reference it, back in the prison complex Sonia mostly kept to herself, but got into a number of really nasty fights with other New Detroit inmates who were members of this or that gang.

Since we all came from the same complex, except for Croak, I posted that Kimberly had seen some of the other prisoners around before. Didn't specify who though, since for her, the distinction is more important than the individuals.

Given that Kimberly doesn't seem the type to join a prison gang, she probably avoided most of the violence back in the complex (even if most of the people in there are dangerous lifers). She might have gotten bullied a bit though, if she didn't visibly stick up for herself.

Yeah. Aspies do tend to be easy targets for bullies.

Kimberly's time at the 49th was fairly uneventful. She was socially isolated more out of convenience than necessity since she didn't seek out company. Being convicted of embezzlement, she wasn't eligible for any trustee position, and so was assigned to custodial services. Others in that department left the worst jobs for her, of course. And the white collar crime didn't exactly give her enough rap sheet cred to get any respect.

Her most noticeable behavioral trait was almost always being among the earliest to go to bed in the evenings and the latest to get up in the mornings. Despite the occasional thumps, spilled beverages, short-sheetings and other pranks, her bunk was as much a sanctuary as she could find, and she spent a lot of time there.

The Corporate Expert System was originally known as the Enterprise Droid, and used as an auxiliary crew member on a one-man tramp freighter, and had ten cores:

Kirk - Command
Spock - Science
Bones - Medicine
Scotty - Engineering
Sulu - Helmsman
Chekov - Navigator
Uhura - Communications
Rand - Administration
Chapel - Nurse
Kyle - Technician

When the tramp freighter and its contents were acquired following the death of the ship's captain, the Enterprise Droid was the unexpected diamond in the rough. However, it was decided that not all the cores were "useful" (While it was pointed out that this could supplement crews aboard ships, captains and unions were not so keen on it), so the first reproduction of the newly rebranded Corporate Expert System contained only what was considered the four "essential" cores - Spock, Bones, Scotty, and Rand - and promptly collapsed.

Deep analysis of the failed unit determined that each core module contain an essential part of the unit's operating system, so excising more than one of the core modules crippled the system - and removing the Kirk core, in essence, gave the unit a lobotomy.

With the death of the captain and a shocking lack of documentation on how he managed to create the Enterprise Droid, the project leader had to explain that their "diamond in the rough" would require more time to work out the inter-workings of its unique OS so that the desired modules could be retained. Asked for an estimate, the project leader said they should have it in twenty years with the current personnel - ten if they were willing to quadruple his budget for additional personnel and systems.

It didn't go down well with the new VP for the Corporate Robotics Line.

However, one of the engineers noted that each of the modules had a sleep mode that allowed for essential core OS functions but did not engage the personality component of the core. So they cheated, putting six of the modules to sleep.

There are ten modules installed, and usually only four or five modules active (Uhura very popular for office communications). Few are aware of the other sleeping cores, although the Kirk module has been activated by Corporate Security Teams before. In each case, it took charge of the security teams over the leader's objections and while it did manage to "win the day", the team casualty list was often viewed as "excessive".

Those missions are classified top secret - mostly to protect the company from lawsuits.

Ok, are we ready to jump to the briefing?

I understand, sorry to see you go! We're just about to go planetside.

For the drop pod - it's like a larger version of the Apollo/Orion Multi-purpose crew module. The interior has seats positioned around the perimeter except where the landing hatch is. Two of the seats next to the hatch were removed and rigged with cargo netting. For you to get into the pod, you're going through the spacecraft hatch in the neck. There is a handrail around the perimeter of the neck hatch.

I'm giving everyone until Tuesday evening to do any boarding posts, then I'm taking us planetside.

Two All-Terrain Robot Pack Mules, each already carrying a field medical kit, ration tubes, canteens, a beacon, a vlf compact transceiver, a vlf repeater, a trailblazer (a paint gun that has glow in the dark colored pellets), a collapsible stretcher, chem lights, and climbing gear.

Approved prisoner weapons.
Ammo.

Each suit the organic prisoners is wearing has a feeding tube incorporated into the mask. A ration tube can be screwed in or a special "straw" that goes through a port for the canteen.

Interesting. I wonder if the clear circle is where the team disappeared, or something the team were investigating when they disappeared.

Are there any other doors apart from the one we came in by? I don't know about you but I can't help thinking the safest first move might be to toss one of the active beacons into the circle and see if it disappears...and if so where.

Enigma

Middle of each of the four sides has a doorway leading out to that side's bridge over the moat and through the spiked block rings. There is a path from each doorway running down the middle of the room, meeting at the center where the dustless circle is.

You may find it interesting to toss something into the circle to see what happens.

OK, those wishing to continue with the game should take one of the gold coins - they're a sort of RFID token to identify you to the transport gate. Everyone who's leaving will be without a token and will arrive at the other location.

When stepping into the circle, you will feel as though you're falling and somehow being stretched out at the same time. Those with a token will arrive on a circular platform inside a cave, no idea how far down but normal again. The platform appears to be suspended over a large, circular hole, with four glowing walkways radiating out at the cardinal points. The CES unit will be standing on one of the walkways, waiting for you.

His token will have turned red, so will yours. Stepping back onto the platform will not work.

Looking under the platform will show there is some sort of tall machine under it, but no signs of any controls.

For those of you without a token, you'll have the brief impression of some sort of machines moving towards you, then you black out and can bow out from the game.

NOTE: I will be travelling this weekend, but I should be able to check daily.

Ok - anyone else coming down as authorized? You have until Sunday, then your gear will appear on the platform without you and you are out of the game.

For the explorers, the robot will want to go past us and into the tunnel leading away from this chamber. The next chamber is some sort of automated storage facility, run by robots. Transparent chests on vertical conveyor belts that disappear into a deep chasm, you will find that the surveyors' gear are here in the belt the robot wants to put the plastic tag in. There are two locked doors on either end of the chamber, it is not sure where it leads.

Or we can try one of the other tunnels? For convenience, let's say the current tunnel leading to storage is South. Pick a direction, North, East, West, South.

Azazeal849

No remote cameras, sorry! Remember to fill out the mission review under "Suggested improvements."

Max'd probably have a hard time staying on it, or getting out. Didn't we bring a few robotic pack mules?

Yup, and the robotic pack mules should be waiting on the pad - deactivated.

The conveyor room is really just a row of belt-mounted boxes, each about the size of a footlocker. When one box is full, the belt the box is on is rotated up until the next empty box appears. If the boxes are all filled, the robots working in this area then move to the next belt.

No apparent slot but there is a raised panel to the left of the door that could be a reader - but then your keycoin is now red-flagged, so they may not work with these doors. I'll have the CES try to lure one of the robots to a door to see what happens.

Keep in mind this chamber looks to be a store room for collected gear removed from people without keycoins who step onto the pad above - there were three more paths leading away from the center pad.

Enigma
12-07-2016, 07:21 AM
Sorry, I got slammed a bit.
West Hallway, the passage there has a door, painted red. It opens as the party approaches, revealing a long room set into three tiers on three of the four sides of the squarish cavern. Each tier contains 64 alcoves. The bottom two tiers have a cylinder in each alcove, on average 80 inches tall, 36 inches in diameter. There is a doorway set in each cylinder, with a recessed mirror that looks more liquid than a solid.

As you watch, a conveyor belt to your right has four cylinders lying on it, and a giant arm mounted overhead is plucking them up and loading them into empty alcoves on the third tier.

In the center of the room is a console of some sort, and what looks like a docking station for the cylinders.

Azazeal849

What does the terminal look like, by the way, if Sonia were to wander over and peer at it?

Enigma
01-12-2017, 08:08 PM
It's a black glass panel bent to form what may be a flat keypad without any keys and a larger display tilted at 30 degrees, with a squat cylinder positioned like a seat for the operator. Organics sitting on the squat cylinder will find it will adjust its form to accommodate the sitter.

Touching the display or the keypad area will wake it up, giving you a diagram of the loading arm moving the cylinders. Clicking on the display on any of the cylinders will pause the current job as the arm retrieves the cylinder, bringing it to the slot where the operator can see the mirrored panel.

Azazeal849
01-16-2017, 05:38 PM

"We're ge'in' paid for everyone we rescue!" He called over his shoulder, as a thin tendril snaked out of his hand and tapped the same button Sonia pressed to release the previous prisoner.

I wouldn't normally ask such a spoiler-y question, but is this pure money motive or an attack of morality (however slight)? The latter might lead to a shift in the group dynamic (and more interesting character development than Max and Sonia simply sniping at each other for the rest of the story - though of course I'm perfectly happy to just carry on doing that too!:D)

Enigma
01-21-2017, 09:30 PM
Certainly I'd hoped we'd have no more players at this point, but for the moment you're stuck with Paul and the Enforcer drones that are about to come spilling into the room. They are not however known for their conversation skills.

And you have no way out - so if you open all the cylinders (which will take days if Max has to lug them down), where is everyone going to go?

Should someone ask, CES Rand will be more than happy to point out that knowing there are others in the cylinders around the chamber, you'd share in the rescue bonus for all of them without having to release a single one other than Paul.

Oh, and Max? The wall slot is tall enough to get you inside if you duck.

Potatrobot

While shifting group dynamics and greater character development are always a plus, Max is rather simple-minded, and entirely motivated by money and escaping with it. Any other character would be doing it out of morality.

I could give Max a deeper motivation or layer of characterisation, since so far I've made every effort to make him a simple-minded thug in an industrial lifting armature.

Fair enough, but I'm always a sucker for telling a deeper story.

Azazeal849
01-23-2017, 01:51 PM
Okay, I'll pitch you my thoughts and let you decide:

As has been hinted IC and OOC, Sonia's been searching for a while now for a community that acts through something more than just self-interest. Max's behaviour might therefore be a bit surprising to her, since "We'll get paid more!" doesn't quite fly when something bad is bearing down on them (we don't get paid anything if we die). If she called him on it and found out that he had a secret hint of real morality...yeah, it'd be interesting to see the robophobe forced to question her assumptions. Even though Max isn't technically a real robot, but whatever. She didn't exactly bother to ask.

Potatrobot
01-23-2017, 02:17 PM
I like the idea. I'm sure there are reasons why Max would have some concern for the others around him that don't conflict with his motivations and personality. I'll try to weave them into his posts, and we'll see what happens.

Azazeal849
01-23-2017, 02:41 PM

It probably bears pointing out that Sonia thinks Max is an actual robot, not a re-sleeved human. And as before I've left part of the GM post unaddressed so Tate can take charge of it.

Question: when you say "a panel said down sealing the Detention room side of the conveyor. The other side sealed too." does that mean the three are now boxed in or is the forward path still clear? If it's the former then I'll edit my post.

Enigma

Both ends of the conveyor are sealed. There is a walkway on either side for maintenance bots to work on the conveyor, that's where the transporter is located, about half-way between.

Okay, edited. Sonia noticed the second panel after she shone her torch ahead and asked Max to knock it down. I am writing as if Max advancing down the corridor is what triggers the light to come on and reveal the cylinder, so Sonia hasn't seen it happen yet.

Prisoner number: 49-4859
Prisoner name: Alice von der Andelach
Race: human experiment
Sex: female
Age: 18
Favorite Food:
Augments: Energy Circle Combat
Description: http://data.whicdn.com/images/54469751/large.jpg

Conviction: murdered all the people involved with her creation.
Sentence: Life Imprisonment
Speciality: single shot weapon augmenting, large scale anti-air and anti-personal spells.

Prisoner History: having been born to a former wealthy European family, at the age of five she was sold to a group of scientist who believe magic was real and that they could use science to get it. After seven years of cruel and inhuman experiments they were success full, but that which they dreamed of did not go as planned. For one the spell casting process was long and costed a lot of the subject's energy, usually resulting in the subject fainting from exhaustion. The spell that was cast to destroy the laboratory and all those involved, consumed the subject's energy and put her into a comatose state for three weeks while her body repaired any damages. The subject was found with in hours of the destruction and was charged with the of every member research team.

Mental status: due to her history she acts as a small child when around other inmates, her mental stability is very fragile and caution should be taken when attempting to get her to do something she does not want without given her a suffusion logical explanation as to why she should be doing the task someone asks of her that she does not want to do.

Weapons: food with high amounts of minerals and vitamin in them.
Personal Gear: only the things needed to survive, change of clothes and standard hygiene products.

I thought I'd ask, since everything around here seems to be robotic...

The image of a huge, hinged cylinder barrelling down the tunnel like some sort of big metal Pacman is oddly terrifying.

EDIT - Oh, and the other question I wanted to ask: Max bashing down the panel so we can escape that way won't derail the plot, will it?

Potatrobot
02-10-2017, 02:16 AM
I should hope not. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the physical layout of the room and what we just crawled into. I was under the impression it was a short tunnel leading out of the transport room.

Enigma

You materialized in the central core. At the four cardinal points of the central chamber there are doorways. The south doorway lead to the storage chamber, with two side doors - the one to the East would not open, and the one to the West had an automated robot maintenance facility.

Back in the central core, the East door was locked, but the West door lead to the Detention chamber. The door to the North is the Processing chamber. Between the the Detention chamber and the Processing chamber is a wide tunnel containing the conveyor system for moving stasis tubes. This tunnel curves to join them together.

The transporter cylinder sits about half-way between them.

Hey Enigma, did you see my question from a couple of weeks ago (post above)?

Enigma
06-29-2017, 06:00 AM
Sorry, things got really busy here. A corridor may be dark because it's seldom used and only lit when occupied, or residential so it's on a night-day cycle. There's also the possibility the lights aren't working for some reason you can't see.

The come-hither has some possibilities - they may be afraid (you did shoot out one of their cameras), or possibly they can't come out to you.

If you want to look around, do so.

Azazeal849
06-29-2017, 06:24 AM

Spoilers. I have posted, sorry for the long wait. Three weeks of pure hell are over with and I'm back to normal operations - at least, until they deploy the new package that will replace 40-odd separate systems with one, affecting thousands. This will be fun.... >.<;

They're also releasing a different package once the terms are worked out - it's unclear if or when we'll be getting it, but we'll be responsible for supporting it.

Good luck! :S

When you have time, a few questions so I can make my post a bit longer:

Is the CES going to come back to life?

Will David answer what this place is actually for? And who the "caretakers" are?

Can "Davis" alter the order of prisoner release? To start with our guys and then an engineer, for example?

Are there any...dangerous specimens being held?

Can "Davis" tell us anything avoid the alien skeleton in the moat?

Does anything unexpected happen on the way back, or do we just step into the circle and reappear back in the ruins on the surface?

Do we have to get back to the surface to call the prison ship, or can we send it a 3-letter message on the VLF so some guys will be waiting / on the way when we get up top?

Enigma
09-19-2017, 06:10 AM
As long as "Davis" is with you, CES will remain offline and inert - and only the CES knows the code to summon assistance via the VLS transponder.

"Davis" cannot tell you anything about the alien skeleton in the moat, you'll have to ask the Caretakers. As to who the Caretakers are, you'd have to ask.

If "Davis" releases the Caretakers first, they can take over the reanimation process and could tell you who is dangerous or not. They can also change the order of releases.

You will arrive on the surface unharmed when you step into the transport gate. It's strictly station to station. However, I cannot say that nothing unusual will happen after your arrival there.

Azazeal849

I'm thinking up a new game. A first generation hyperspace Wanderer probe has returned with information that is immediately classified at the highest possible levels. Proof of actual, alien life - in the form of wreaked alien warships in orbit over an inhabitable planet. A smaller ship, possible a shuttle, is observed landing on a desert landing field among other such shuttles in what appears to be the only city on the planet.

Intelligent alien life does exist, it seems - and may have more in common with humanity than we're comfortable with. So before Earth can send the first colony ships, they must first determine what sort of threat the aliens pose to us.

Another possibility is Donovan Station - hyperspace ships have allowed for cheap travel to other worlds in days instead of decades, and new colonies have sprung up on inhabitable worlds. However, having firmly establishing themselves, the colonies sought independence from Earth rule, resulting in the first colonial war. A war the colonies lost.

On the edge of known space is a system known as Donovan's Hangover - mostly asteroids, one water world, and a few sub-Jovian gas giants, where the warring colonials established a mining and fuel refining operation, shut down at the end of the war.

However, the three "stacks" - mining, refining, and manufacturing have grown in recent years into a full-fledged space station, operating outside of Earth-controlled space. Fiercely independent and just as capable of defending itself, it's a place for those desiring a more criminal lifestyle may gather for repairs and relaxation - until the money runs out, anyway.

Congrats on the tabletop play. What tabletop game are you creating a campaign for?

Potatrobot
02-18-2018, 11:40 AM
I'm making a campaign for the Stars Without Number system. It's based on old-school systems (easily comparable to D&D) but in a sci-fi setting. It's really trope heavy, which lends it to classic sci-fi scenarios, or just as easily, parodies and deconstructions of them.

Azazeal849
02-21-2018, 12:17 PM
Enigma, I was reading back to remind myself of what has happened and I ran across something:

“Where does all the prisoners’ stuff go?” Sonia asked Davis, glancing briefly towards the tunnel where the transport bots had been sorting through the effects of the survey team and their would-be rescuers.

This didn’t get picked up in the following GM post, but the reason Sonia’s asking is to create an opening to request (while the CES is still offline) that Davis adjust the teleporter to separate her from her bomb collar during the jump back, in the same way that the others were separated from their effects. Potentially important story-wise, so could you please let me know the outcome (even if it’s “no”) before I post anything else?

Enigma
02-21-2018, 05:16 PM
This is a secure facility. Because you were carrying an authorization token, none of the dangerous items you were carrying, including the collar with its explosive charge, were removed from your person on arrival. Anyone who followed without a token were completely stripped, including their collars and the explosive charge they contained were neutralized.

So yes, the system can be set to remove the collars as it has already been cataloged as a dangerous item in the system.
