Untouchable

I reach for the untouchable reality,
fabricated by an over active imaginary.
Just as I touch the life I wish to dwell,
like liquid rippling over glass I'm reminded to fail.
Only the reflection of my own dying form,
stands within the ripples of a world in disform.

I scream to myself as even dreams have turned a knife on me,
as even this world leaves few things left for me to see.
Why is happiness only true in a book written by the mad,
so pleasant to wander even if they turn worst for the sad.
This mainstream life built only for the pain,
seems to only bring the wicked what they crave.

Good comes to bad, and hell to the just,
turn my heart black and cold if you must.
I bow down with little strength to fight back,
give allegiance in place of the leadership I lack.
To begin as a child, rising from the crawl,
to grow is to rise higher, but life always prepares a fall.

You throw your philosophy as if words can cut despair,
just face reality and see that this existence isn't fair.
Men spill blood in defense of a god for they believe it's a must,
but call it patriotic as corruption gains our trust.
Tombstones litter ground, acres of a lesson in stone,
life is hell, and death only awaits at the end of the road.
