You should have a "Muggle" thread in the IC section. If we have a lot of, or just a few, muggles, they'll need a place to interact in that world.

I don't really see the point, surely the outside Wizarding World should just include the Muggle world as well? Otherwise we'll just be jumping from thread to thread all the time x.x

I agree DK, the wizarding world and muffle world are separate, but they coexist. The 'wizarding world' title just implies that it's outside Hogwarts. :)

Who are we waiting on to make characters?

The way Juni and I will be running this, people will be able to keep joining indefinitely. We have broken the Main plot into several 'chapters' (no spoilers but it's gonna be awesome!) and there will be periods where things are more and less hectic and involved with that - we've also planned it so those who are more interested in just living their lives, and rping normal school/wizard world antics can do so.

We have a few more who'd expressed interest that haven't joined yet, but I'll get the IC for our welcome feast up tonight! So we can start the fun. :D

Yep, like I said, IC threads can be made for any time within the term (or in this case, just before term) that we're on - so say our 'Main plot' is up to December, then someone joins and you want to make a separate 1x1 about how your characters met in September, that's fine. You just couldn't make one for anytime after the current term, because you don't know yet how the main plot might affect things then. Make sense?

I know canon, that different houses take classes at different times, but for the sake of character interaction in our story, all students of the same year will take class together.

If any of the colours are painful to read, I apologise - it was more so I could see where the heck I'd put each class. XD

Oh, I didn't see the spells but yes, the NPC is accepted! As for his family, unless they're going to be involved in the RP then it's not really necessary, maybe if they end up being brought into the story in future you could make a sheet for them then? You don't need to make the NPC his own thread, I'm compiling them all into one thread in the Magical Me section for everyone to reference from. :)

Yeah I think that's adding complication where complication doesn't need to have been added. I'm guessing the 5 points froim the thread will just be added as like 'good classwork' or something.

If we were handing out 20 points, or 50 points for a completed thread, it might be different. But I don't see anyone getting up in arms over 5 points difference; and the completed thread points won't effect it too much if a character were to lose or gain a big amount IC; remember, for example, that each quidditch game, the participating Houses are awarded the same number of House Points as their teams score for the game. Catching the Snitch is 150 points, on it's own! It also wouldn't be realistic if, in a school attended by 100's of students, only our characters were affecting points.

Also all NPC's have been added to the reference list in the magical me section, still working on formatting but they're all there if you'd like to check it out, most are available for use by any player. :)

Sorry for being absent again guys, if you didn't see my blog there was a huge flood in my area cause by cyclone Debbie, a lot of my town has been totally destroyed, sadly including my home. I am safe and staying with friends but was initially still in the house so was without power until I sailed out in my little dingy! It was quite an adventure! I am pretty much back but still a lot to deal with in the aftermath of this so I won't be quite as active as usual. <3

G, can this connect with the news paper NPC chick at her relative inside Hogwarts? I think it was her nephew or something - I can't recall the relation. But maybe she's send him a letter to see if he heard any gossip for w/e. Because he's an NPC it can be background unless we set it up to lead to a PC or further plot action?

Yep I definitely plan to link the two Mink <3 Angelique is Helena's mother, so the news will definitely be passed on to her young nephew (niece? I thought we made him a boy, better check that XD ) at Hogwarts :)

We have a few players in hufflepuff that could see him go manic (read his personality) and give the man layers some hint of plot (well for the characters worry) that propels the Hufflepuff house to get to know each other more regardless of their years as Jacob's fit gathers everyone till house leader can take him away.

Well, when rabbit's character saw the name of the shop in her 'nightmare,' I was thinking the news could get to him through Helena but given that we'd planned to have her talk about it to a Hufflepuff classmate, if that were in the commonroom perhaps Jacob could overhear it - if he interjected, mentioning that was his Great Aunt, that could be rabbit's characters' first inkling that perhaps her 'dream' was more based in reality than she might have first thought.

Also that is a fabulous way to connec the characters. I don't know how to tag Rabbit's name but hopefully we can get her in this conversation to expand upon this. I still think Jacob would make such a scene that it could rope other huff players.

Side question, why is she his great aunt and not just his aunt? I think I have his genealogy messed up since I had both Helena and Angelique are his aunt. If I remember, he's the son of the unnamed made up sister of Angelique (she's pureblood and Helena's dad was the muggle right?). So that means Helena is his mom's sister's daughter. So Helena is his older...cousin?

If you'd like plots with specific characters of mine, I'd love it if you guys could post in their Magical Me (http://role-player.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=572) thread, that way it's easy for us to reference what we have planned without going through a bunch of posts about different things here? :)

Obviously we can't do that with NPC's, but we could discuss which ones could potentially work here and then when we know, plan the plot in your chara's Magical Me threads? Just so things are easier to reference!

I'll post what we discussed with teacher Hael in her thread when I find it, you could also do a class with her HaelKatrin;? There's also the thread with all the Slytherin firsties we need to finish!

As for the Hogwarts matter, the magic of the building is rather matter of fact. It doesn't understand the nuance of 'gender' or anything like that. It simply will do what it knows what to do: keep boys out of girls' room. In some critical ways Damara still is applicable as a boy.

BTW the way that me and Mink are doing this is that each dorm has a room for every year group, and every room has 5 beds in it for each girl, so technically Tamara and Katrin would be staying in the same room as each other, along with any other NPC first year Slytherin girls.

Just food for thought when you want to write your post about getting into the girls dorms :)

Mink and I discussed the staircase thing before the fact. :) I had thought of the dorms as one big room for everyone in the year but actually I only recall Harry's year mates being mentioned in his same dormitory so the room for each year sounds fine to me, they would all be accessible by the same staircase for either gender though. I mean, I read that it was two staircases, in your post also. I was under the impression that it was a a central entrance common room, and then two staircases on either side, one leading to the male dorms and the other to the female ones? Otherwise Cary, Michael and Douglas would have all fallen with Damara, because they would have been with her.

On the topic of us interacting a lot with each other, it's a background thing and a canon thing within the universe that Pureblood kids don't tend to mix with 'Mudbloods' and such. I can understand where you're coming from but at the same time I would argue that you and Fira have been writing quite a bit together and such. I imagine a lot of that feeling is no doubt because mine and Minks posts are always quite hefty with detail and such, but the RP is no more ours than it is everyone elses :)
