Yes indeed folks, ole Siks is officially tossing his hat into the Private Roleplay section. For years I've only done group RPs and saved 1x1 for friends. But as things have been slow in the group Rps and as I'm having a lot of fun doing a 1x1 with Kris, I thought I'd see if lightning can strike the same spot twice. XD

For those who don't know my Rping style, I'm good at most genres and can fill nearly any role or character type. My best work is in Fantasy and it's one of my favorites to play in. High Fantasy, Low Fantasy, 1st world, 2nd world, 3rd I have characters and ideas for them all and while I prefer Mature Rps I've done a few lower ratings so if the idea is good I could be talked into doing them again.

Now everyone has their dos and don'ts, I am no different and most people know them too lol.

1: I generally don't like slice of life or RL rps. Too many stupid politics, cliche drama, and story lines. If I know you well enough then maybe, but if I don't lets you and I think of something better.

2: I hate real life politics in general and will go to great lengths to avoid them in my rps. Sex politics, Left vs Right, Bathroom preference any and all of it makes my head hurt. XD I have no problem making up story politics though as long as they make sense.

3: I have a certain standard in skill level moderate skill to master. I don't expect Shakespeare(especially since I mess up a whole lot myself XP ) But well done post with a good enough size to get the story going forward will be expected.

4: Romance and drama are welcome and encouraged as long everyone involved is on the same page and no rules get broken. I prefer MxF main pairings since I don't have to worry about screwing anything up. But secondary chars can be more alternative if it actually works for the betterment of the story in my eyes.

5: I like to be in reliable communication with my Rp partners, so be ready to brainstorm with me in VM or PM.

6: Respect, as long as neither of us are jackholes this shouldn't be an issue. Just in case though play nice with me and I'll play nice with you. But have some thick skin too because I can get pretty dark and scary in my stories.

7: I am a ghost sometimes so if I vanish for a few days don't lose hope lol, as such I'm good with a slow moving if life keeps us too busy.

8: Lastly I am a sucker for Epic adventure, world building, or sword and sorcery.

As for my ideas I have a couple, but they aren't all that fleshed out. One is a storyabout a couple of kids who dream of being heroes run away from home to join a Gulid of some kind but find themselves shanghied and sold into slavery where thgey ned to find a way to freedom.

The second is just an epic journey taking place in a steampunk style world akin in Fable 3.

I mean, I am new(ish) to this site. (I know my join date is a year and a half ago, but I only logged in like one time between June 2016 and June 2017.) So I have only been in two role plays. One is Skyrim, and another was a western that fizzled out. I really enjoyed both of those contexts; the high fantasy of Skyrim and then the historic realism of the western.

Anyway. That said, I've never done a 1x1 role play before. So I'm a bit nervous if I will be good at it, but also curious as to how they differ from group role plays. I'm just trying to diversify what I do on here. So I'm open to anything new! Fantasy, western, gangster, apocalypse, medieval, horror, sci-if, anything. I like and dislike stories from all genres, so it's more about how much I enjoy characters and plots.

Hmm no worries, 1x1 is a little easier than some cases than group RP, you don't have a lot to follow, but more falls on the two players to make a good story.

Full paragraphs, constant communication with your partner, and really focusing on character interaction and development. Cool thing is if you and your partner click and really dedicate themselves to the RP it's loads and fun and lets you really explore world building.

Have you read my first post? Does any idea click in your head? I love Fantasy RPs the most, but I have done RPs from Sci-Fi, Horror, a couple of Westerns and such. What do you not like to do? XD

It's a crossover RP I made awhile back that combined the Lord of the Rings world with the Dragon Age video games. Basically the warriors from the Dragon Age games fight these demonic creatures called Darkspawn which are pretty much Orcs and Goblins from Lord of the Rings.

In Middle Earth the Darkspawn show up and the people of Middle Earth don't know how to fight them, so they send Elves across the sea to get the Wardens and bring them back to the Darkspawn.

Would you be open to a plot in the fictional setting I created? The plot could be someone simple like our characters being executors of the will of the contract but they realize the seal they are to attend to is one set late in life in a southern blasphemer. The task would prove excruciating if at all possible and at their success they would surely find no reward.

Basically the two characters would be tasked with forcing a seal on a demon. Demons in my fiction are traditionally descendants of an assortment of nomadic peoples that did not have their bloodline sealed, thus preventing them from controlling their abilities. Furthermore, an executor is someone who serves under the current contractor, helping ratify the covenant made with the heavens. So basically the mission is to save a man's soul so he can love like a normal person.

So...we would be trying to seal a Demon hiding in a man so he can control his abilities?

No, Demon is only a technical term. The impulsive nature of those who can't control themselves is colloquially referred to as demonic. His magical capability would be disabled once sealed but at least then he might achieve citizenship in the empire and love his beloved who he only barely restrains himself from killing.

Vampires...the world belongs to them now. An apocalyptic wasteland, the good ole U.S. of A. is nothing more than a hunting ground for the fanged beasts. Small populations of humans exist, but most serve the vamps...scouting for survivors, providing blood bars, protecting them during daylight hours. It's the only way to survive without being on the menu. But there are also underground resistance groups that still fight to destroy the abominations. It doesn't take much: removal of the head, destruction of the heart, cremation by fire. But their numbers are increasing and the land is fouled by their stench. One queen holds them together with her hive mind. She controls and communicates with the thinkers, the drones, and the beasts--all vampires but with varying levels of intelligence. The only ones she doesn't control are the hybrids, a rare form of human/vampire mix that were birthed from an infected human mother late in her pregnancy. Who will you be? Human? Hybrid? Either way, it is time to bring the fight to the queen.

The King had no heir and no queen or consort, thus the two that emerge as the most likely contenders are his protegee and long-time right hand; and the decorated and popular leader of his city guard. Who will win the crown?

Plot twist: The goal is not to keep your own character alive or see them enthroned - it's to attempt to position the other such that they are able to survive and cannot turn down the crown. First to coronation loses the roleplay. Rules of play to be defined beyond that as we see fit.

I have been thinking about what an interesting RPing partner you might be, but I like to plan out an RP a bit more than just a prompt and a gauntlet thrown. So, Siksta Khan, if you are still interested in potentially roleplaying then if you have an idea you want to plot out I'm game.

If you don't, I think I have a neutral way of selecting a topic that is also a bit challenging. We would choose a random word and search for it in the Search bar. It would need to be one that did not pull any actual results. For example, searching "Fox" pulls without results. The purpose of this is to be able to view the Tag Cloud at the bottom. We each choose the first three words at random that catch our eye in the list and share them with each other. We each write a random intro based on those six words, dropping any duplicates of course. The one we prefer, we roleplay.

A barbarian King (me) begins encroaching on the land of a standing Queen(you) rumors of my Barbarian's royal blood keeping your char from quickly waging war on him and my King's smaller army forces me to consider some kind of diplomacy first while also doing some spy stuff infiltrating the Queen's Court under some kind of guise.

Or are there such things as heightened powers/skills and/or magic?

I am best at High Fantasy myself. So medivilsh Fantasy will be great, and I'm always a fan of tossing magic and supernatural abilities into the mix. Gives the most options for creation and world building. We don't need to do anything overly complicated with them either. Just enough to make it realistic and fun for us both, I won't be playing Deadpool sadly xD But I have a lot of Barbarian type men that could fit very well into the scenario.

So next questions Rating and Romance? Where shall we stand with those?

I tend to rate everything [M]ature as a blanket rule and RPA rules are a fine standard. Generally I am not the limiting factor, but am open to additional rules and restrictions if there are things that you are not comfortable or do not prefer incorporating. I don't have anything against romance. I tend to be a fairly "organic" roleplayer, so I seldom plan things like that out, but am fine if it develops naturally. I can also take a crack at planned relationships if that is desired/necessary for the plot.

Hmm good I agree with the M rating, it gives a lot of freedom, and I love freedom in my writing.

I also agree with the organic romance thing, so we'll roll with that, but considering how these types of stories generally end could wind up being more planned than we first thought lol.

So any particular type of High Fantasy you wanna try?

LoTR style, Angels and Demons style, Anime/manga style etc?

LoTR is great, but I have the usual elf fetish, so... predictably that will be a thing if we go that route.

Angels and demons could be fun, and I have a seldom used race that I made up/probably other people have also thought of but I have not encountered that might wedge into that fantasy world. I call them Celestials, but they are basically fallen stars. Humanoid creatures that fell to earth and then move about the world. If that is not something of interest, straight Angel/Demon is not something I have much experience with, but would probably find enjoyable.

If there is a loose premise of Anime/Manga that you want to follow I would be open to this, but I probably would be a poor partner as my pool of knowledge here is extremely limited.

I do like grim stories and horror, so if you wanted to some benighted world we could roll with something like Underworld: Rise of the Lycans or dark elves and demon-mage humans, etc., etc.

Hum hum hum. We could also do single race, humanity or otherwise, split by something. Religion, magic versus alchemy, etc.

Hmm give me some more info on the fallen star people and we could totally use them I have a couple of regular Angels I could use with them. I love grim dark stuff, but not the best at full on horror, I have a group of Divine Monster hunters I could use, but that would change the basic premise of Barbarian King and Standing Queen though. Might make a nice "forbidden" or "tragic" romance story

I'm not terribly experienced in anime/manga myself so we can prolly axe that option for now.

I have a lot of Lycans in my vault to pull from, but Dark Elves are a little less over done. A regal Dark Elf Queen would give a nice contrast to things. As they are normally the Barbarian/Spy types of things, but then I would need to think of a good race that could be compatible with Dark Elves without going too overboard.

I have a race of warriors with magic tattoos and a race of super powered sun worshipers that might work as a counter to Dark Elves.

They never got much play, but basically stars are people. When one winks out it is dying in the heavens. When one streaks across the night sky it has either been banished or somehow come undone from their world and traveled to earth. Because of this, they are quite rare. They have the ability to speak telepathically, but they only know the Celestial language, so at first all they can do is essentially sing in Celestial at anyone from earth/whatever the roleplay world is. They have a great deal of power, but the drawback is that in addition to communication hindrances they also cannot remember anything from the heavens when they fall. Once they touch soil/water in the mortal world it washes away all memories - or so it seems. If there is more to how they are banished, that is not known.

They do learn very quickly, so common speech - with some grammatical flubs and occasionally humourous gaps in understanding - is easy enough to pick up. They may have some perceptions of humanity, but in the way people see ants from afar.

Exploring the extent of their power takes a bit longer. Those who can adapt and live successfully in the mortal world may rise to be great leaders or warriors. Some become worshipped as deities. Those who fail to thrive may simply waste away and die, pining for the heavens that are evermore out of reach. By nature they are very gentle, bright, and innocent. Some remain so, though they can still do harm in the way children can be brutal without realising the actual harm they do. Others grasp human concepts like power and greed and exploit it, whether to climb to the top of a cult-like body of followers or to lash out at the human/whatever races inhabit this world to pass on the pain they feel from their banishment.

That's the gist, anyway. Their powers usually stay somewhere in the telepathic/telekinetic and light elemental range. They don't have wings like angels and have no religion, etc. Since they do not remember their life before little is known of their origins. At best the few most powerful might remember a fragment here and there, but they don't talk much about it. There are some common likes and dislikes among them, like all races.

Anyway, that's the idea.

Either race you mentioned would work! We could expand on your magical tattoos by making that common across both sides? Maybe these Dark Elves have some natural abilities and derive others from corrupted versions of the tattoos your super powered sun worshipers use? I assume they also have some natural abilities that present in the population?

Dark Elves could have the Drow affinity for spiders if we want to give them a religious element to counter the sun worship.

Hmm I like that idea for your Celestials, but yea that would change our basic premise for King and Queen I think, though my char finding one of your fallen stars and becoming like their caregiver/partner or something would really be fun and light-hearted depending on who I pick as the counter.

As for my races they are the Inkkin and the Solari a.k.a the Sun Fighters.

The Inkkin are the mutated decedents of Atlantis who evolved and adapted to living totally underground, the magic tattoos called "MagInk" are manifestations of their actual spirits and give them all kind of powers.

The Solari are a group of nomadic desert warriors that live in a realm called the Day Sky River, they have the powers of the Sun or things associated with the sun. Flight, Fire Control, Gravity Control, Thermal mastery(able to regulate their body temps mentally and see in infrared) as well as peak physical abilities like strength, speed, durability, and agility.

There is a race in the Innkin lore called the Darklighters that might fit the Drow idea. Darklighters are Inkkin who used up all their MagInk, basically burned their souls out from using the tattoos too much. Now originally they were designed to just be monsters the Inkkin warned their children from and such "souless monsters who only desire to steal the souls of the normal Inkkin and try to regain their own MagInks." At least that is the story told by the Church of the Inkkin, we could work with that to make the Darklighters something else. Like cousins of the Inkkin people who use Shadow Elements or something?

If we go with the Solari, that idea of them worshiping spiders and darkness could be very fun, though once again would change the Queen/King idea. Since the Solari are nomads and wouldn't have any desire in conquering a Drow Queen's lands.

I need to head to bed now, but we're making good progress so we can continue this tomorrow. :D looking forward to whatever we can come up with.

Both of those might work. If you want to go Inkkin then it sounds like we'd most likely be pitting one subterranean culture against another. Perhaps like many things there could be some truth and some deception in the stories the Inkkin are told by their Church? Darklighters could be the "fallen" cousins of Inkkin whose ancestors explored the far reaches of their magicks and were eaten up by them. Their offspring could retain some small taste of their magic innately, perhaps with deformities or some trait that signifies the consequence. Maybe they either run the risk of death by overuse without the tattoos, or simply cannot amplify their powers to the fullest without the markings - so they want to channel through the Inkkin in order to do so. Perhaps the offspring of the Darklighter cousins are not able to magically ink themselves for some reason so that the symbols are just regular tattoos for them?

If you favour Solari we could consider reversing the roles. Alternatively, the Dark Elves could live in caverns and forests - or oases if we are looking at a nomadic life in a desert-ish biome. If they are creatures of the water in addition to darkness they might have a reason to feud with the Solari over access to water and vegetative lands for grazing, etc. They could be Lunari. Lovers of the night and cold waters, and disinclined to share?

Perhaps. I did have one raw concept that’s been in my mind recently for a modern supernatural fantasy (ghost detective/superhero-ish) type of RP, but I have yet to decide on a specific plot to go with the general premise, so if you’re interested maybe we could work something out from there.

An itch has been burning in my brain the last long while. An Iron Age High Fantasy RP...players will be seekers of ancient treasure of the various gods of those times. Sword and sorcery goodness hopefully filled with a wanderlust for slow burning adventure and character depth. The best way I can word it is writing like Lord of the Rings, but playing like Skyrim. But mostly I'm just looking for an outlet to itch this scratch in my brain.

Maybe some of you are feeling the same itch?
