The Great City of Stundestadt was once a beacon upon the shining shores of the north. This city-state rose from seemingly nothing, ruled over by but a mere count it came to prominence due to ingenuity and soon spawned forth into a grand mass. It swallowed the Island of Menes-heit. Menes-heit long ago was a land of conflict, wars waged across its very fields and strife filled every corner as kings vied for control. The Count brought an end to this in a brutal conquest that swept across the island. New inventions such as guns made those who stood against Stundestadt but vermin on the battlefields. On top of that terrible powers were bestowed upon the warriors of Stundestadt, so terrible were they that they live on only in myths and legends.

Yet despite all of its power, all of its grandeur, resources, and territories, Stundestadt was unable to conquer the world. For the sea surrounding Menes-heit turned an inky black and began to swallow ships whole. No one dared journey to Stundestadt, for travel there is impossible. What was the bastion of progress in the world became an isolated and trapped asylum, for only the dead were now sent its way. Plagues ravaged the rest of the world, without any hope for a cure and no answer from the gods. People grew more and more desperate, even going so far as to travel to the mystical city of Stundestadt which at its height was as close to divinity as any had ever seen.

It happened slowly, but the world turned towards ruin, before a hunger set in those with a yet unknown fate. A destiny, it panged in their mind like an irregular heartbeat. Drawing them closer to the Island of Menes-heit. Upon its shores a lighthouse flickered to life and painted a path through the darkness leading to Stundestadt, hope had returned as those with the life still left in them drew them in.

Mysterious cults formed among the last vestiges of humanity, looking for answers and worshiping the black skies at night. They never grew in power but always stayed close enough to others whispering of the Blood of Stundestadt, to fear it and marvel at it. For one day, it would be humanity's savior.

The RP

This RP is heavily inspired by the Bloodborne and Dark Souls series. I will be playing the NPC's and acting as the GM for the game. I'll do my best to be fair and ensure people are enjoying their time in this RP. How I plan to have things work is for players to have characters do actions with judgement calls by myself or even others on plausibility, how well something works, etc. I'd like this to be collaborative of course so always feel free to ask questions and brainstorm with me and others.

There will be plenty of actions, mysteries, puzzles, and discussions to be had in this RP. Things will get fairly violent at times, as a warning. Drug use, blood, gore, possibly nudity and sexually suggestive situations may occur.

Blood Liters: 5.5

Dreams: Once upon a time, Alton had been an idealistic boy, full of dreams of family, home and contentment. But those dreams died a brutal death. One tragedy after another befell his family. For a child born into a loving prosperous family, he was now a man grown, having lost everyone who ever meant anything to him by cruel and unusual means. No one family could suffer such ruin without cause. Yet his was not the only family to suffer such devastation. There had to be a reason, a source. Thus he is on a crusade to find the truth. The truth of why world lay in such turmoil and death.

Nightmares: Dying without answers. Dying without making any noticable mark on the world except that he one existed.

Purpose: Having had so much ripped from him, he is single minded in trying to sort out the source which wrecks such havoc on peoples live. People spoke of better times. Joyous times. But something changed and that caused the the world to change. Could what had been done, be undone? He had to try.

History: He had been born into a life of ease, the youngest of eight children to a loving couple. But it was as though his birth wrought the horrible change in the future of his family. A once large family, with substantial holdings; tragedy and death was all he grew to experience. A beloved father murdered. The family business stolen by a lying business partner. Parcel by parcel, their holdings had to sold off to allow the family to merely survive. Then came the illnesses that took his mother. Still being a young boy, he and his older siblings soon found themselves without home and shelter. He watched as his siblings, who had once been a strong caring unit, dissolved into a fractured mass of selfish manipulators. He was shuffled from one sibling to another, each resentful of having to care for him.

At the age of fourteen, Alton struck out on his own. He left life in the city behind him, preferring to live off the land. He grew to manhood in the dense forests that lay around the city of his birth. But even so, there were times when he had to return to the city. It was during one such trek to the city that he met the girl he would take as wife. He became part of the girl’s family, working side by side with his father-in-law. He relaxed thinking he had found the family he had missed out on as a child. Life was hard, but there was companionship, and soon a child. But just as in his youth, the specter of death reared up again. The family that had brought him in, accepted him and made him one of their own, was brought low by illness. One by one he lost them. His father-in-law, a good man, was the last to die. It had been a hard pain-filled death. It caused Alton to harden his heart, and return once more to the forest, to make his way alone.

Home Life: For the next twenty years, Alton lived on the periphery. Just there, out of reach of anyone else. Alone, yet not content. Never allowing himself to get close to anyone, less they too die, and he would have to bury yet another person dear to him. But time has a way of making one question their actions. What if they had done this or that differently? What did he have to show for his life? Nothing. It was time for a change. What did he have left to lose? Nothing.

Lore

https://i.imgur.com/xuemNK8.jpg?1

The Count - Stundestadt’s ancient leader, known only as The Count. Paintings of this silver haired and red eyed man date back centuries meaning he shall have died long ago. It was he who brought his people together and elevated all around him to near godhood. What happened to him is a mystery, as contact with Stundestadt was cut long ago.

Olivia of Cintros - Another ancient figure of Stundestadt, she was believed to be the lover of the Count, though he never married or sired any children. What others have noticed is that it was her presence that brought quite a few inventions to the fold. Artwork often depicts her working on electrical devices so advanced painters struggled to properly reproduce them in their art.

High Priest Lutthor the Pious - The head of the Reformed Church within Stundestadt. He was once a young headstrong man but with age and graying hair he grew more understanding yet fanatic. His methods archaic, with a focus on punishment and torture. Due to his leadership there was a split in the church.

Clockmaker Valia - Leader of the Clockmaker Union, a deistic movement that garnered a lot of backing by inventors and philosophers in Stundestadt. Her personal life was considered eccentric and many paintings depict her breaking taboos, as well she was an inventor in life who focused on machinery. She reportedly died by throwing herself from the great clock tower at the center of the city.

Grand Knight Helmgarde - Leader of the knights of Stundestadt, an old order that lasted into the city’s golden age. These aristocrats were treated with mixed feelings by the courts and people, their old ways clashing with the new. Helmgarde was the greatest of the knights, known for his wielding of a great blade that reflected the light of the moon.

General Giles the Mad Dog - A beastly and ravenous man, Mad Dog Giles was always fond of combat. When cannons were introduced to the Stundestadt military he took a great interest in them. Every chance he could he would personally fire them, and due to it ended up in an explosion. Near death, it was said that the Count gave him an elixir of immortality, but this is only a myth. He served until his death in battle.

Sylvia the Huntmaster - Once the Huntmaster of Stundestadt, she was known as the greatest archer to ever live. Rather than using any of the new technology present at the time she stuck with a simple longbow. Still her mastery went unparalleled. One day she was sentenced to death by the Count, rumor had it that she had an affair with his lover.

Admiral Beauregard, The Stars at Night - Formerly the head admiral of Stundestadt. His tactics were always refined and exquisite, just like his taste. A collector of and patron, he beloved various art forms such as sculptors and in life became a painter. No known painting of him exists, yet his work survives to this day. His most famous work is that of a starry night over Stundestadt.

Grand Astrologist Phinbar - An odd man, in life he was eccentric and studied the stars. Despite his nervous appearance people flocked to him for information. Even the Count was known to bring him to court to divine for his guests. It was Phinbar who spread the belief that the gods of old were dead, and that the stars foretold of their return. For someone as poorly upon as he was he had a great deal of power and was gifted the Lunarium as a gift. At the local colleges he taught fresh minds the ways of Astrology so that they may one day learn more of the celestial bodies and see what he could not.

Vampire - In the oldest legends of Stundestadt are the tales of a wild creature known as the Vampire. It was immortal, unkillable, a creature that lived in the nightmares of those nearby and fed upon the blood of the dreaming. It once ravaged the lands after the fall of a star in the skies. Vampire one day vanished, with its origin lost and legend staying mainly to scare children.

Doctor Zukov - From the far east, Zukov’s story is one of rising from nothing. He came from a peasant background where surgery on dead bodies was forbidden. He broke this taboo and ended up being run out of his hometown, he barely survived. For years he traveled practicing medicine and failing while learning more of human anatomy. By the time he arrived in Stundestadt he had left a trail of bodies, but this didn’t stop him from practicing. For some reason he became a favorite of the Count, and was elevated far beyond his position. Then he simply disappeared from public life, only being seen in glimpses in the dark corridors of the palace.

Prince Asim of Za-hajiir - An ally of the Count. He often dined with the Count and was publicly a close friend of his. Many resources from Za-hajiir were redirected under his orders to support Stundestadt. Their friendship is the stuff of legends. It is said that Asim was buried close to the Count.

King Ludvig von Hjolgedden - A desperate ruler with an illness so deeply rooted into him he fears he is going to die. Doctors and clerics can no longer save him, instead he is going to go on a holy pilgrimage to Stundestadt. In his desperation he has offered the hands of any of his heirs in marriage for whoever may yet save his soul.

High Cardinal Ostrovich - The cunning man behind many recent wars, Ostrovich claims he is heading to the Great City to cleanse it of sin. It is a bold move, that many question yet only in private.

Weapons

Stundestadt Alley Defender - A simple pistol which is decently accurate. It can only fire one bullet at a time. The gun is quite plane but features a wolf's head carved into the butt. Normally the weapon is wielded by citizens who need to defend themselves in a pinch when ambushed in a dark alley. It is common to keep this weapon tucked inside of a jacket before drawing it to fire a bullet, usually to scare off an attacker. It's quite weak and designed for killing humans not monsters.

Basket Hilted Dragon - This weapon is considered a beauty within Menes-heit, a blunderbuss in the for of a handgun with a basket hilt to protect the wielder's hand. While it has a lot of kickback it's power is great, reloading can take some time. Along the bottom and top of this gun are steel teeth which can be used to cut two inches into flesh, as well as bite onto weapons and hold them in place. The butt of this dragon is made of steel and it can be used as a bone shattering hammer when held properly. Dragons Guns are a rare sight in this world and almost exclusively are made in Stundestadt where they are popular amongst criminals. The Basket Hilted Dragon is a weapon that was designed for hunting in urban environments.

Bloodthirster - It is said this weapon was first designed by an eccentric duelist in the marshes of Menes-heit. This weapon does not fire normal bullets and is in fact incapable of doing so. Instead when blood enters the barrel of this gun it is crystallized and then may be fired by pulling back the hammer with one's thumb and pulling the trigger. Bloodthirster does not fire powerful rounds, in fact they are quite weak. Instead when in close proximity to an opponent the weapon can be fuelled entirely by their blood. Every time blood fills the barrel it is reloaded and can fire again. As well one may use their own blood to fuel it. The Bloodthirster has a steel barrel with inscriptions on the side of serpents. The butt of the gun is made of a red processed wood while the trigger is made of silver.

Crimson Dancers - Crimson Dancers are a type of weapon that are considered bizarre even amongst Vampires. While most weapons are held in the hand Crimson Dancers are a pair of red sabatons. They are highly flexible allowing for graceful if loud movement. These plate boots are sharpened along the sides to a fine point turning one's feet into a dagger-like weapon. At the toes is a blade that can extend out to the length of a knife and can retract when running or climbing. Along the back of the ankle vertically as well is a spine like blade with a hook at the bottom which can be used to grapple a target with the legs and hold on while attacking them with the other leg or arms. To Vampires this weapon is considered a thing of beauty, in fact some use it in courting during group hunts to attract lovers interested in such fine movements. To the average Menes-heitian it is merely another disgusting and unholy weapon of the hunters known for its viscera and keen edges.

Death's Hands - Another strange weapon, Death's Hands are two daggers with one being shorter than the other. They can be fixed together at the base of the grip creating an edged boomerang which will return to the thrower. Another way this weapon can work is to be slid into place side by side creating one dagger with two blades, in between which other weapons can be trapped. When in this form the weapons can split at the blade and act like scissors or suddenly pull apart to return to being two daggers. These weapons are called Death's Hands due to them resembling a minute and hour hand on a clock. In some artists' paintings death is represented by a Vampire wielding these weapons holding them over the head of the recently deceased. For an unknown reason there are small grooves along the blade that blood easily clings to, when sated with blood these blades will give off a red glow and vibrate improving their cutting power.

Destroyer - Destroyers are weapons so heavy that only a Vampire can practically use one in combat. These long hammers have metal shafts that are thick allowing for the support of the large stone hammer head. When transforming this weapon comes apart revealing a spear within the hammer head that has a leaf blade for thrusting and cutting made of silver. When separated the hammer head can be left on the ground or due to the pole's thickness, a powerful Vampire can stick their hand into the head's hole. Thus with one hand they may wield a long spear while with the other using their fist as a sledgehammer. Destroyers are so powerful that Vampires sometimes use them to break through walls or iron gates while giving chase. King Oebrin was famously executed by a Destroyer during a parade by a Vampire who believed him to be a beast. There were no remains left of Oebrin only a pulpy pink mess and a destroyed carriage. Shockingly the Vampire escaped and was never found.

Fire Lance - Long ago the mysterious Logan a known magician was hired by the King of Stundestadt, King Seethe. King Seethe became enamored with Logan's wondrous tricks that used flames to dazzle guests. When asked of his secret Logan refused to tell, being a magician he couldn't. Even the King's torturers and hangman could not get a word out of Logan. What they did discover amongst his possessions was a mysterious black powders which the King's alchemists did their best to reproduce. Immediately it was used for warfare, but before guns became commonplace it was instead used in the making of Fire Lances. These weapons were long two handed lances for use on foot or horseback with a steel tip and a pipe just beneath. With the quick flick of the wrist at any point this weapon can unleash a spray of fire but takes time to reload. It may be used with one or two hands. The lance's pole is made of a processed wood that is as black as soot which has high resistance to fire.

Guillotine Grinder - One of the larger Vampire weapons, this large two handed axe has a broad head and a shaft made of an incredibly flexible wood. Because of the flexibility of the wood this weapon easily bends, to its advantage. A hunter may bend the weapon almost like a string does a bow, when releasing the built up energy the axe head will snap forward or backwards suddenly smashing into whatever is in the way heavily improving its cutting and crushing power. A common tactic for Vampires to use with this weapon is to drag the head along the ground besides them bending the weapon. When releasing the power reserved it will swing upwards like an uppercut while also flinging up a vast amount of sparks from dragging on stone. Children are often warned that it is time to head inside at night by the sound of Vampires dragging grinders through the streets looking for prey. The back of this axe's head is blunt and can be used as a hammer.

Hook Gun - The hook gun is one of the most relatively simple firearms used by Vampires. This pistol can be loaded with three bullets and fire three times before it must be reloaded. Reloading it is simple enough, but it does not have much firepower to it. Instead this is a gun that is supposed to be used in an odd way, at point blank. By using the hook just below the barrel a Vampire can hang from a beast or even pull back steel armor. Thus this weapon can be used for climbing or staying in close quarters while firing bullets directly into the vitals of a foe. It only requires one hand to use and is often paired with another one handed weapon. Famously the Vampire Gwendol climbed the back of a massive werewolf using two hook guns before planting a hook in each of its ears and firing six rounds into its eyes.

Vampire's Harp - A strange weapon that is hard to notice at first glance, the Vampire's Harp appears like a simple wire. This long wire can move silently through the air and is hard to detect without light shining directly upon it. When there is no slack in the wire it can effectively be used to cut or saw through flesh. The wire is so sharp that when set up as a trap unsuspecting prey can run through it only to discover too late the wire cut clean through their neck decapitating them. A weapon of grace, it is also used by the Vampires to entertain themselves on sorrowful nights beneath the moon. When wrapped about the hand a skilled Vampire can pluck the strings and play music that is chilling to a normal human but welcome to these heretical fiends.

Rifle Spade - Simple enough, this weapon appears to be a spade with a long pole. However with a twist of the shaft the serrated shovel head will split down the middle and open up turning the weapon into a pickaxe. Where the shovel head was will then rest the end of a gun barrel. A Rifle Spade can fire high power shots that can travel a great distance though outside of medium or short range it is highly inaccurate. Vampires of the grave favor this weapon as it can quickly turn from a tool into a weapon for fighting being buried yet not quite dead. When functioning as a spade it can also work as an axe due to the sharp edges. It does not take long to reload this weapon and on its butt is an iron spike.

Shining Morning Star - A weapon so dangerous it is often associated with demons, the Shining Morning Star is a weapon that is capable of killing the wielder if used improperly. To the untrained eye it would appear as a normal spiked round headed mace, but to a Vampire it is much more. At any time the mace head may be fired out of the steel pole a foot and a half before it will be anchored by the chain holding the weapon together. Rather suddenly it can go from a mace to a ball and chain mace. The head of this weapon can rocket out with such force that it can punch holes in bodies or knock off human heads in a single blow. A rather famous painting depicts a duel between Vampires in which one has blown off the head of the other Vampire with such a weapon. In the aftermath of the battle she stands basking beneath the fountain of his crimson life force, with her mouth open.

Silver Saw-Tooth Sword - A long blade made of silver that can be held in one or two hands. this longsword's pommel features a twisted head of a wolf visibly in pain with its mouth open. The crossguard ends in spikes while the grip is made of roughly tied cloth soaked in blood. While to many this would look like an ordinary longsword this weapon listens to the command of a Vampire and can transform. When transformed the long blade becomes serrated like a saw and can more easily cut through flesh while ripping it apart causing as much damage as possible. As well a skilled wielder can hold this weapon by the blade and use it as a spiked hammer. It is said that silver swords are holy weapons, and yet a monster such as a Vampire can wield them.

Vampire Killer - The Vampire Killer is a weapon with a very innocent appearance. Normally it appears as a silver can with a wolf's head handle. Along the bottom are grooves leading to the spike at its point, at the midsection are etchings that draw the flow of blood should the cane be splashed towards the hands of the wielder. Normally it can be used as a cane for walking or beating a foe. When transformed the bulk of the cane detaches creating a large chain-whip made of segmented blades. It is as if a whip and a sword were made one and when the wielder wishes it can be completely straightened into a serrated sword. Momentum is this weapons greatest ally, as long as it is moving it can keep up an assault easily while disorienting a foe. When it passes through flesh the Vampire Killer causes a great deal of damage, ripping and tearing while drawing as much blood as possible. Some Vampires like to use this weapon to make music from the cries of the beasts they strike, some refer to it as a symphony of the night. This weapon is called Vampire Killer since it was originally designed to be used for killing Vampires. It is still quite adept at this task, but ironically it is most often wielded by them as well.

Lightning Rod - An Olivian invention. The Lightning Rod gather energy through friction. By dragging the metal pole along the ground or against anything it begins to build up electricity. This weapon must be handled with care, for the wielder can easily be electrocuted. At the top and bottom of the weapon are points that can pierce flesh and even some armors. By quickly twisting the pole in hand, the wielder discharges the built up electricity into whatever one of the points of the weapon is in contact with. This weapon can also be used to redirect electricity, or as a regular lightning rod.

Blunder Hammer - This weapon is a combination gun and hammer. This is made by crafting a thick blunderbuss with a gun butt that is dense and rounded. The weapon can be wielded by the barrel and swung as a hammer, and may be fired from either the hammer or rifle position thanks to multiple triggers. It fires a spray of pellets that at short range deal massive amounts of damage, but quickly drop off in power the further they are from the target when fired. This weapon can also be caused to explode at the butt so that it will detonate when striking causing extra damage, though this slightly damages the weapon.

Ketto Blade - A weapon made originally on a southeastern island. These swords were known in their language as katana. The blades were very fine and sharp with a slight curve caused by the forging process. By using the much purer ore of the north to create this fusion of south and northern weaponry, a deadlier weapon was crafted. The Ketto Blade is nimble, lightning quick, long, but not good against armor or scales. This weapon can absorb blood and release it as a short range cutting wave, the blood may come from any source.

Reaper Blade - This weapon comes in two components. It has a long staff that is curved at the head made of wood that is very flexible. The other part is a scimitar, a curved blade. The hilt of the scimitar can meld with the staff forming it into a large scythe. In the fields this was originally a tool of agriculture, now it has been formed into a beheading weapon known for creating fountains of blood out of the necks of unsuspecting foes.

Mine Defender - Even in the mines Vampires could be found. They were forced to perform manual labor should they fail to hunt. These workers would carry the Mine Defender, a pickaxe that splits at the head forming into a crossbow that fires silver stakes. It is excellent against armor and thick hides but can get stuck in bodies easily.

Vampire’s Talon - The famed weapon of the Count’s Hunters. These beings would go on legendary hunts chasing down mythical creatures. They wielded these combination bows and claws, that could shift between two dual curved swords and the form of a bow. There was believed to be some magic involved, as instead of firing true arrows the weapon fires spikes of hardened blood that can come from any source.

Outfits

Mortician Outfit - Morticians have always been in high demand in Stundestadt. So often are there dead bodies to examine and drain the blood of that nearly every street would have a mortician during certain periods. Commonly they wore justacorps coats which were white with gray diamonds upon them. Powdered wigs made them easy to recognize. As well they'd wear gray gloves and matching trousers without pockets. The job of a mortician was a dangerous one, as those laying upon their tables were not always truly dead. It was a known fact that Vampires and morticians hated each other, with morticians often hiding at the sight of the monsters. Morticians are also considered strange within Stundestadt due to their knowledge of the human body and experience with seeing naked corpses. To Stundestadters the naked body is something to be ashamed of and is sinful to witness. As such morticians are often believed to be perverts when in general morticians just see naked corpses as objects rather than people.

Miasmic Hunter Outfit - The miasma theory of disease is still held in quite high regards around the world. In Stundestradt it had been disproven, yet still some cling to old ways. The Miasmic Hunters are a group who are healers of the common folk. They go out into the wilds risking their lives and bring back necessary reagents for creating salves and elixirs. The areas they go into are very poisonous, as such they have drenched their clothes in perfumes to ward off the stench of death and decay. Their facemasks resemble a bird’s beak, they wear round glasses over the eye sockets and let their hair hang behind their head. A shawl is wound tightly about the neck which is white in color, while they wear long black robes with a suit underneath. It is common for them to carry a cane.

Gravedigger Outfit - Wide brimmed dark hats are commonly worn by Gravediggers. They like to tilt their chin down to hide their faces from those they speak to, some find this annoying about them. The common outfit of a Gravedigger consists of a long coat with twin tails that reach the ankles, often covered in the grime of the grave sites. Their outfits are completely black and grey with a mantle that is loose from the shoulders to the elbows in length. Thick leather gloves protect their hands while heavy boots cover their feet. Wrapped about their throats are shawls with scents the Gravedigger personally likes upon them, which they wrap about their face when digging. In Stundestadt things rarely stay dead. Gravediggers are tasked with the job of either burying those who are truly gone and digging up those who have returned to life and are trapped beneath the soil.

Coach Driver Outfit - Coach Drivers are always wanted in Stundestadt, for one cannot walk everywhere. The outfit of a Coach Driver is often simple, with trousers, a linen shirt, and a vest worn over it. They have often rudimentary shoes. The most out of the ordinary thing about them is that they tend to wear cloaks with hoods that they pull up during heavy rainfall. Coach Drivers commonly carry weapons in case they are caught out at night in the Great City of Stundestadt.

Crimson Dancer Outfit - Something designed for those who wish to entice as they kill. This outfit is often worn by those Vampires who wish to court those around them, or at least put on a show. They wear a black coat without sleeves that is tight at the waist but loose from the hips to the feet. Golden embroidery accents the jacket and beneath it is worn a crimson silk shirt with white cuffs. Scarlet gloves are worn over the hands which are tight to the skin with the fingertips exposed. Leggings that are black with golden stripes are worn and lead the eyes towards the feet where one would traditionally see Crimson Dancers worn. This outfit leaves little to the imagination and can be combined with a corset for added effect.

Professor Outfit - In the academies of Stundestadt a great deal of knowledge can be found. Yet throughout their halls their least known secrets are whispered, of Astrology. Headmasters especially try to dispose of teachings of Astrology in favor of more logical theories and viewpoints. Professors sometimes break from these traditions and still pass on the knowledge to their students. The average Professor wears a tan jacket without sleeves over a white shirt, with beige shoes and trousers of a color of their choosing. It is expected of Professors to wear spectacles, even if they don’t require them.

Vampire Daywalker Outfit - Eccentric and out of place, Vampires are seen by most humans as disgusting abominations. Yet in Stundestadt their need is understood, for what better creature may fight a monster than another monster? Still their presence is forbidden during the day, as they are expected to be hidden away in crypts and other dens of darkness. On a rare occasion a Vampire may need to travel during the daylight, despite the damage it causes to their body. To try and hide what they are, they’ll usually wear bulky outfits with large cloaks, high necked shirts that cover their jaws, and black tinted glasses to keep others from seeing their red eyes. It also protects their eyes further from the sun. But many are not fooled, and can easily spot a Vampire which may bring forth a riot.

Vampire Executioner Outfit - When someone has crossed the Vampires they may send a Vampire Executioner after them. These Vampires wear a silver bell around their necks as a warning that they are coming. Often they wield large weapons that can break through barricades and leave disgusting messes of bodies behind. Hiding their faces, they wear black cloth wrapped about the bottom half of their head and wear forward pointing black leather hats. Their outfits are obsidian in color with mantles, trench coats, trousers, gloves, and steel toed boots. One can try to bargain with a Vampire Executioner by praying for forgiveness and not hiding. No one knows truly if this works.

Items

Belt Lantern - A small lantern. It is not filled with oil but instead insects that glow when disturbed. They can be quieted back to a resting position where their light will go out, but loud noises may cause them to glow even brighter. These insects are highly sensitive to vibrations.

Ooh, Darksouls! Love it!

(Do you need me to recycle your other thread for you if you're doing this one?)

Good luck, Tolvo!!!

Looks like you've got an awesome roleplay started! If you would like to advertise for more members, here are some ways to do so!

First off, there's the Roleplay of the Week (https://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=85745). This is displayed on the website's home page as well as on the side bar of the forum. If you think it might help then we implore you to do so! We are always looking for new RP's to advertise. (No, really. We are. Always.) If you would like a little bit more information, or even an example, you can view that here (https://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=59571).

One of the requirements for a RP of the Week submission is that you have a banner. If you're not artistically inclined, however, do not fear! We have several amazing artists on the site who will make one for you. Simply post here (https://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=79546).

Next, you can post in this thread (https://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=79783) and the staff will display your role-play in their signatures.

Also feel free to post in the Roleplay Directory (https://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=40645). This is a thread that anyone can view at any time to see roleplays that are currently seeking and accepting members.

You can join but I'll need you to understand a few things. This RP does not take place on Earth, so places like Jerusulem do not exist. As for Werewolves they will be a staple but your characters won't start out really knowing about them. I'd also just like your sheet to be cleaned up a bit. Things in the right order with punctuation and grammar. Though if you do still want to play someone who is cannibalistic that is fine and does fit within the RP.

I heard Vermintide is pretty good, though Warhammer Fantasy has been officially, and thematically discontinued and Age of Sigmar has taken it's place, though not sure if it's right for everyone they have some cool stuff now.

Vivienne your inbox is full so I thought I'd get your attention here.

There is a lot of Van Helsing elements to it yeah. If you want we can chat in the thread so I don't keep using up your PM slots. But essentially it is going to a mysterious city for whatever your own character's goals are. I'd craft the story around them, that's why the sheet brings up things like dreams and nightmares and goals.

What you play depends on your actions but it is also going to be pretty hard to not become a Vampire, as most things in this RP will be Vampires of one sort or another or monstrous creatures in general.

04-06-2018, 05:44 PM
Player Name: Vivienne

Character Name: Mette Eld

Age: 27

Appearance: Mette is tall and well groomed, with her hair usually tied up in a bun or pulled back out of her face in some form of semi-elaborate braiding. She has a rectangular shaped body and fair coloured skin which has not visible beauty marks or scarring. Mette holds her back upright with an aura of confidence, with her head held high and body poised.

Eye Color: Grey

Hair Color: Dark Blonde

Weight: 150 lbs (10 stone, 10 lb)

Height: 5' 9"

Attire: Mette's clothing is of a noble quality but is dated and starting to show small signs of disrepair. She can usually be seen wearing a long flowing dress that sweeps the ground, tight bodice, long flowing sleeves, and sometimes a ruffled neck. She has jewelry on at all times, very conservative and flattering and nothing gaudy; items like pearls, small gems, and quality embroidery.

Weapons: Sword, elaborate and decorative as if meant more for display than practical use

Gear:

Inventory:

Blood Liters: 5.5

Dreams: To re-establish her family's name and status

Nightmares: Dying alone, her family's name and fortune long turned into dust

Purpose: Mette has come to The City to try to re-establish her family's business ties in order to re-build their empire, from scratch if need be. She realizes that she can't do it on her own, and she's been out of touch the last 5 to 10 years, so it might take some time and effort to get things back to the way they were, it that's even still possible.

History: Matte's family owned and operated a large mercantile fleet for many generations. When Matte was very young, her parents moved to Stundestadt in order to have a normal, quiet life. However, as time passed, life for the Erd family has grown worse; the shipping business is faltering as both figureheads have been unable to sustain and grow the business, while Matte has been unable to as she's been tending to her parents.

Home Life: Matte's home life has been very miserable the last five years. Her mother died about ten years previous, and her father has been sick the last five years with a debilitating illness. He has recently passed, leaving Matte alone in a big house that looks as if it's not been tended to properly in some time. Matte's left the house for the time being, determined to make something of her life instead of rotting away in the home all by herself...

Sorry for not responding right away, I fell asleep.

So she looks good so far, and to answer some questions the timeline is supposed to be vague to allow for some wiggle room and because it isn't exactly known.

Player characters are going to be a mix of hunted, and hunters, as well as a mix of humans and monsters.

Originally I had planned to not have player characters be from the island, but I think I was completely unclear on that. But, your character I think would fit in on the island. So let's go with it! Overall I really like your character concept. I'm also glad you did use the word flux, time is not exactly going to be linear in this RP,.

As for the image, it should allow you to either upload a picture, or use a picture hosted from somewhere else. I usually upload pictures to imgur, then use that to host them.

Also I'm currently playing DnD, but I can still respond and stuff.

Player Name: Zed

Character Name: Alton

Age: 51

Appearance: Alton is of medium build, lean and wiry, having very little excess fat on him. He is not one to smile; an easily read assessment by any who glance his direction. His stance tends to be one of alert wariness. He is not an imposing figure, so the casual observer may look past him dismissively, due to the rough and work worn appearance of his attire. He could be one of a dozen men passed by every day who go unnoticed.

Eye Color: Brown

Hair Color: Light brown with gray.

Weight: 170

Height: 6’ 0”

Attire: Living off the land, most of his attire is made of leather, as it wears longer and takes a beating. He clad in a rough woolen undershirt and britches. His outerwear consists of a woolen tunic, leather leggings, soft leather boots, leather vest, and a heavy woolen cotte that has been patched numerous times.

Weapons: Alton carries two weapons. A long bow, and a war hammer. Though a weapon of war, the war hammer serves double duty as a highly useful tool to have on hand for living off the land.

Gear:

Inventory:

Nothing.

That's alright Fable, I can design things to work with each player so we can all go at different speeds.

Zed
04-07-2018, 08:45 PM
Alton's Reason:

The definitive moment that made Alton realize he needed to act, it wasn’t another death of a friend or colleague, they had all died already. It was a seemingly innocuous trade with a peddler he met in the forest. Trading pelts for arrowheads, except for the small mirror that the trader had hanging on a tree at his campsite. For the first time in years, he saw himself as others saw him. Not as the softened reflection that running stream water gave him. But stark unabashed truth. He saw the distinct gray hair, and lines in his face. He had aged. He was no longer the handsome youth he held in his mind's eye. His best years were past him.

The trade had been completed, they had parted ways. But Alton stewed on the fact if he were to die at this precise moment, what did he have to show for his years? A handful of arrowheads, a warn war hammer. Nothing else. Why had this all happened? Why did he and everyone else toil and ache, day in and day out, for what? It was the same question he had asked himself over the years. Followed by years of inaction. Youth had allowed him to have that worry for another time.. deep into the future.

But the future was here. With a vengeance. Would Alton quietly accept that he would amount to nothing apart from a pile of bones one day?

No.

That was no longer good enough. He would not end up as a pile of forgotten bones. Alton needed answers; and if he was to die getting those answers, at least he died for something. But where? Where would he start? The answer woke him from a sound sleep some nights later. Stundestadt, the great city of Stundestadt. It was rumored no one was successful in their journey there…

...yet. He was about to be the first.

It'll vary from RP to RP it usually depends on how the person running it feels. I'm up for it to a certain point, since your characters aren't next to each other it's fine. If you and her were interacting then we'd wait. I tend to let it go a few posts and check with the slower poster how ok with it they are. Because if we do it for pages they can get a bit lost. But as of right now it's cool to post.

One thing I wanna mention for the future, your post as is is fine. But in the future please try to refrain from having so many things happen. A part of this RP is the mystery of what is happening, and there are actually some details in any scene I haven't given yet of what is going on. Now diving overboard is fine, but just something to keep in mind going forward.

I'll get to work on another post now.

Player Name: Mfable

Character Name: Trest Uldenwal

Age: 23

Appearance: Trest is skinny and emaciated, severely underweight and malnourished. His skin and eyes are jaundiced and his pale gums bleed, staining his teeth a reddish-orange. He is covered in sores and pustules and rashes and breathes heavily at nearly all times.

Eye Color: Sky-Blue

Hair Color: Black

Weight: 130 lbs

Height: 5’8”

Attire: Trest wears long, flowing black robes, tattered and frayed beyond repair, and a simple porcelain mask carved to resemble that of a raven.

Weapons: Crossbow

Gear: N/A

Inventory: N/A

Blood Liters: 5.5

Dreams: To facilitate and guide the return of a balance between life and death.

Nightmares: Seeing life outweigh death or all life in the world wither away into nothingness.

Purpose: Trest Uldenwal wishes simply to bring a balance between life and death back to the world.

History: Trest has known nothing but the stinging pain of disease and the draw of a knife over flesh. His father walked out on the family before he even knew he had created a child, and his mother died giving birth to him. One of the many cults of the world adopted the squealing baby and raised him in their faith. It is all that he has ever known in his life. The last thing he remembers in life is the sound of ritual chanting and the pain of a blade sinking into his heart.

Home Life: Trest grew up in the service of one of the many cults in the world and remembers endless practice of ritual chants and sacrifices. His mentors subjected him to all manor of plague and torture, taking all love and light out of his life and replacing it with endless pain and suffering and loss.

I can elaborate more if you'd like, but not a whole lot happened in his life.

Character:Will
Height: 5,4
Appearance:Will has an average build but better strength than most due to working the ground all his life. though short, he possesses excellent vision and makes up for his lack of height with endurance. he looks disheveled from years of working odd jobs but that hides a spirit that longs for adventure.
Age: 99
Blood Liters: 9.9
attire: he favors light armor and boots, preferring speed over protection. unless forced through impossible circumstances, he will not use shields.
Dreams: a lifetime of money, women and song
Nightmares: Death and what comes after
Purpose: to carve out a living, either in the living realm, or the dead. he does not fear the reaper or any wraiths but fears oblivion. if he has no purpose in the infinite void, he may as well be dead. he has worked for gods before but is wary of their deals. he is also, subject to ambushes, at work so as such, Will is impossibly, thorough when, an enemy is seemingly killed.
Home life: the usual drunken abusive stuff. kill or be killed is the order of the day, and his family finds the concepts of love, compassion and wages foreign. the knife is his mother and flaying is his lullaby at night. pain is his teacher and his reward is abuse. he seems to enjoy it as a masochist often does.

will does many odd jobs such as cargo delivery (often containing nukes), defense missions, is proficient with handguns and heavy artillery and fought in Nam in 1968

his personal life is...complicated. he lost his first job to outside contractors and has held a grudge against PMC's ever since. due to his temper and uncanny aiming ability, he is often sent first, with the hope that he will die or eviscerate the enemy and then die. as such, he takes on high risk missions for the highest bidder, often in countries wrecked by war (Uganda) or incapable of change (North Korea). a mission to Kill Kim Jong went haywire and he's been targeted numerous times. it never works.

Complete contextual wiff there, that character is better suited for an 80's Action Hero style of RP, not really for a grimdark low fantasy one.

Which admittedly when I read that little blurb I thought of 80's Action so that's a really good job there, also Chaotic Neutral as fricken all get out.

I hope this is cool!

Player Name: Low-Budget Man

Character Name: Lucia Vale

Age: 25

Appearance: Lucia holds an acrobat’s physique, with long tone limbs from years of performing. While not tremendously strong, her movements graceful and fluid like a feather on the wind. Her shoulder-length hair is often tied into a bun with a few hair sticks in it. Her face facial features cuts a sharp figure with high cheek bones. Black tattoos of blooming flowers trail from the left edge of her jaw to her left shoulder. On her wrist, an intricate tattoo of a laughing crescent moon is inked. The open mirth of the moon seems to betray the odd look in the moon’s eyes however. An casual observer would simply believe the celestial object to be merry, but a closer inspection would reveal the sorrow beheld in the moon’s eyes.

Eye Color: Black

Hair Color: Brown

Weight: 150 lbs

Height: 5’ 11”

Attire: She has ditched her entertainer’s garb for a more practical outfit. Instead of gaudy dyed colors, she wears battered leather leggings and tunic. Around her, she wraps a blue woolen cloak with a hood to protect her from the chill.

Weapons: A 6ft tall ashwood glaive. The blade affixed in the socket is 1 ft and 3 in. She also has a small stiletto knife in her belt.

Gear: (Leave Blank.)

Inventory: (Leave Blank.)

Blood Liters: 5.5

Dreams: She dreams of become better than her twin sister. Although she denies it vehemently to anyone who asks.

Nightmares: She fears the loss of her sister and the loss of her extended family, the Entertainer’s Guild.

Purpose: Her sister believes that their mother somehow resides in the City. Lucia tried her best to dissuade her sister that it was a foolish thought instilled in by the Entertainer’s Guild Fortune Teller. But her sister was absolutely convinced, even going as far as saying that she received dreams that told her to go. As the plagues dragged on, the dreams grew in fever until her sister could take no longer and ventured off into the night, leaving behind a single note in apology.

History: Lucia and Stella, her sister, were born into the Entertainer’s Guild. Their mother was an acrobat performing with a glaive. Their father was a strongman. The twin sisters began learning various performances at a young age. Their youth was spent tumbling, flipping, and practicing with the glaive. Their mother drilled them hard with the glaive, making sure not a single step was misplace nor a single second wasted.

They entered their first act at the age of eight. They performed basic acrobatics at first, but as the years dragged on their skillset improved. However, Lucia always seemed to lag behind her sister in every thing they learned. Stella picked up things faster and seemed like a natural at everything they tried. While Lucia learned to juggle 3 balls, Stella juggled 4. While Lucia threw knives at targets. Stella did the same blind-folded.

Lucia would spend hours upon hours improving on her skill, determined to prove herself better than Stella. But Stella always seemed one step ahead of her every time. There was no arrogance to her behavior either. Stella always tried to help her sister improve by giving her tips, but Lucia never seemed to equal.

They used to perform together as the Vale Twins, but her sister eventually broke into doing solo acts. The only thing Lucia equaled in skill to Stella was her skill with a glaive. They both could twirl the blade as fast and dance with the weapon as if it was an extension of their body.

That eventually became their only duo act together.

As they grew older, their mother’s mind seem to deteriorate. She seemed to ramble incoherently at times and seemed forgetful. Othertimes she was perfectly sane. Nightmares seem to plague their mother every night, unhinging her even further. She spoke of things no one understood. Their mother disappeared when Lucia and Stella were 20. There was no warning. No clue to where she had gone.

The two sisters got matching tattoos at this time. To promise each other they would not lose each other. Her sister got a crying sun and Lucia got a laughing moon.

When the plagues came, their father was one of the first ones to go down. Built like an ox and often boasting that he was stronger, it was a surprise to see him weak as a kitten. Members of the guild starting falling soon after.

The fortune-teller spoke of a faraway city in a faraway island. Their mother was there for an unknown reason. It was a vision as clear as day the fortune teller told them. Lucia believed her to be mad, while Stella whole-heartedly believed the fortune teller’s tales.

Lucia begged her sister not to go. To stay and try to take care of the other members. But her sister persisted and departed soon after. And Lucia followed to bring her sister back. To stop her from the delusions of a mad woman.

Home Life: Lucia spends hours practicing her acrobatic abilities and with her glaive. The drive to make her better than her sister occupies most of her day. But at night, she often spends time with the rest of the Entertainer’s Guild.

The bit with the fortune teller and mother is kind of weird. So if you want, I can remove it. But I thought it would be a cool thing for you to mess around with.

The first boss, the chain guy beat me like 10 time times before I got him. I haven't finished the game yet, but the bosses are pretty fun to fight. The only problem is like the game doesn't have that many normal enemy types.

Sorry I haven’t posted yet. I’ve been busy due to my mom traveling but she just got home. I also role play across multiple sites so I’ve been a bit divided in attention. But I’ve cancelled a few on other sites so I’ll have more time for this I hope.
