Etmere was sitting in his chair wrapped with many different blankets around him. He was watching the monitors as many different observations devices that he was testing were currently searching for the target. He had done many expeditions with the university of new york, all under the disguise as someone who is willing to get paid, to help a science professor teach his students about physics for a month at the bottom of the world. This time though, instead of the professor coming to him wanting to teach his students, Etmere had gone to the professor.

Every time before, Etmere was simply coming to the ice to try and narrow down where the ancient weapon would be based on the ancient texts that were recovered from the original holy war that was tens of thousands of years ago. Now that he had firmly believed he narrowed down the region, he had come to the professor, saying that he wanted to test a new deep ice scanning device. His device used extremely thin lasers that shot into the ice and kept going until they hit either air pockets or solid objects that were more solid and thick than ice. To the professor, that meant finding underground caverns not exposed to the world yet and doing a deep ice scan of the actual continent below the frozen ice. To Etmere, and the holy order he served though, it meant finding the ancient fortress that the vampires built during the holy war, which was rumored to contain something incredibly dangerous.

The scouts of the order, who worked to gather new information on the vampires, worked with the sages, who kept track of all of the order's history, to find out what was in the fortress. While they were unable to get a definitive answer, they were able to make a guess based on the lack of a definitive answer. They have estimated that the thing on the fortress was powerful enough that it could easy upend and destroy humanity as it currently is. Some kind of weapon of mass destruction, a last resort that the vampires could use to kill all of humanity on earth. His people thought it was some kind of ancient biological weapon designed to poison and kill humans by spreading through the air and into the atmosphere, only leaving the human cattle that the vampires would have collected beforehand and hid underground to live until the virus goes dormant again.

As he thought on all of this, one of the monitors came back with a ping on the system. He looked at it with excitement as one of the laser devices then focused on the ping. A radar map of the area popped up on one of the larger screens as all screens focused on this laser device and other far away laser devices aimed themselves at the deep object to get scans from multiple areas. He knew they found it. Whatever the fortress was, it was on the ground of the continent, with miles of ice on top of it.

As the 3D radar map start to compile and build itself of the area, he was slightly surprised. No doubt that if word about this discovery got back to the mainland, it would throw the world upside down. The fortress was a pyramid-shaped object. News like that would surely make the world confused and disorganized as they struggled to understand how a pyramid structure could exist under the ice, making it the oldest structure in existence, and predating the great pyramid, which was small compared to this pyramid. He turned off the monitors and pulled a microphone over to himself as he went to use the intercom.

"Rise and shine crew. Time to wake up. It's currently three in the morning and the sun is bright with a nice warm negative thirty degrees. One of the lasers found an object buried deep in the ice near the ground of the continent. Gather your traveling gear and meet in the garage. Start turning on the snowmobiles and prepare to move out. It's gonna be two hours out and there is a storm due to hit it in eight hours. I wanna make sure we have our storm camp set up before the storm prevents us from doing it."

With that, he let go of the intercom. He grabbed his coats and put them on, before quickly heading outside where a blast of cold welcomed his face. He closed the door behind him and proceeded to walk over to where the radio satellite dish was sitting. He went behind the large structure and unburied a weathered briefcase. In it he pulled out a private radio. He grabbed the communication piece and spoke into it to alert the order. "Wendigo. Echo. Alpha. Port. Omega. Noir. Four. Three. Three. One. Confirmed." He then buried the briefcase back in the snow and pulled something out instead. His weapon. An automatic pistol loaded with blessed silver bullets that were forged in holy water and other special components. It was the standard ammo of choice for hunters, as it could be used on any nonhuman and be deadly against them, as well as being deadly to humans who supported nonhumans.

He then buried everything again and put the gun inside of his coat so he could easily get to it, as well as keeping it hidden from all the humans. He then made his way to the garage where he was greeted with half of the team in the garage preparing to leave and getting the snowmobiles ready. Only half of the team would be going since the other half of the team needed to stay at the base to make sure that everything stayed operational and that someone was in contact with the docked ship at the naval port that was half a day away.

So there really was something here, Herald thought. His master had insisted him take classes that would result in this field trip for the last few... Pretty much as long as the old goat had known a university was routinely going to this desolate frozen hell. Master had said to keep an eye out for something, he never knew what. Then when the professor said the guy who helped teach classes was going to be taking laser imaging of the continent... Well let's just say Herald found it confusing. He honestly hadn't expected them to find anything.

So as he got up, looked around picking up a big thick jacket, but kept looking. Until a thinner one was thrown at his face, "Looking for this Turtle?" It was a nickname returning students gave him, because he hated the cold. Even if he didn't feel it quite deal with changes in temperature the way the others did. Even the thought of being cold made him double or triple his layers. Everyone jokes that if he ever got separated, he would probably just tuck into is clothes to hide from the cold.

After he zipped up his inner and then thicker outer jacket. Before he followed everyone else outside, he was lucky to be picked to be part of those that would dig. Though, if he was honest, he would have preferred to stay where it was a little bit warmer. Even so, he climbed on the back of one of the snowmobiles, pulling goggles down. Many people wore them, the snow and ice made the air sharp. So goggles were always smart, he was a bad driver though, even with the goggles. Last time he was allowed to drive it, he nearly drove them off a cliff. Which was embarrassing to say the least, but after that no one ever let him drive.

So he rode to the surely desolate area they were going too.

Etmere led them to the area that the map had been marked on, his snowmobile essentially leading the pack as they eventually made it to the area. Along the wide flat icy plains was a tall silver looking device standing about ten feet tall and five feet wide. It had many different solar panels on it that moved and adjusted to always have the most sunlight hitting them and at the bottom was four feet holding the object in place. The actual bottom stood about 3 feet above the ground and on the bottom of it was what looked like a giant camera lens.

As the pack of snowmobiles stopped by the machine he directed some of the people to start building the larger tents around the laser machine. Off in the distance, storm clouds could be seen and Etmere knew he had to work quickly if he wanted to get the hole dug. "While you guys set up the base camp I am going to get the drill part of the laser working now. After you set up the tents, start gathering and digging up the snow to build a wall of snow around the camp and the drill, it should help keep anything other snow from coming back down the hole and trapping us after its made." After he gave the orders to everyone he walked over to the large laser device and opened up a side panel.

In it, there was a large computer and he started to press buttons on the interface. Quickly the machine started to whir to a louder noise before the heat started to come off of it as a five-foot-wide circle of red glowing ice appeared directly under the machine. The laser was invisible but the new tunnel that was quickly forming wasn't. It would still take a few hours, of which the storm would only get closer, but the tunnel would eventually get done. Etmere would then find the professor and ask him to send a few people down with Etmere and himself to help with anything that might need to be done once they got to the ground under the ice. The professor was surprised to hear that Etmere wanted to go down with them since Etmere was usually the tech guy but he figured that Etmere probably just wanted to see what kind of results and damage his laser might have done to the ground below and agreed to have one his senior students, a woman, and one his newer students, the only everyone called turtle, accompany them down to the cave that was found on the ground.

As Etmere went down the tunnel, using a very long steel rope hooked up to a generator to be able to pull people back up in an emergency, he was aware of the others following him down as they went into the tunnel. Eventually, after about an hour of everyone going down the tunnel silently, they finally reached the ground. It was pretty much just solid rock, there was no plant life as it had all died, and what used to be dirt had been compacted and frozen for so long it was essentially just rock. What was more interesting to everyone though was the fact that just upon entering the cave, there was a moment of feeling that something was wrong. Almost like a forbidding feeling telling them that they should leave and never come back. That feeling was how Etmere knew they had found it. Naturally he had the laser drill into a cave like air pocket that was near the fortress so that they would have to walk to it instead of just seeing it right away.

When they stopped, he helped set up tents and create the snow walls. He didn't expect to see anything on this trip, but when the professor called his name. He found himself wishing he could just be back, huddled up safe in their main base. Even so, they took the long trip down the tunnel. Which he thought it was actually warmer underground? Or maybe that was all in his head. Who was to say for sure?

Once they were in the case, Herald looked around nervously. His skin crawling, he could feel something, but he had no idea what. He looked up at the tunnel they were just in, wishing more than anything that they would go back up it and that he could throw a sofa at his master for making him go on this trip this year. Normally the trip is a nice break from the old geezer, but he was fairly certain he would want to deal with the vampire over whatever might be ahead.

Looking around, he wondered if everyone else was feeling it too.

Etmere could see that everyone was feeling uneasy and he smiled. "Don't worry everyone. We are the first people to ever set foot on the actual ground of this continent. Come, I am sure you are all going to love what it is I have found though." He said with a smile as he turned on a flashlight and broke some glow sticks, throwing the glow sticks around the area to mark where the tunnel was before heading deeper into the cave with his flashlight.

As they went deeper into the cave, it took about ten minutes before they stumbled onto the structure that Etmere was looking for. In front of them, built almost into the wall of the ice itself, was a strange black brick looking sloped wall with a tunnel going into it slightly with a black obsidian looking door a few feet in. Etmere was sure this was to excite the professor smiled when he saw that he was correct. Naturally, the professor wanted to see what was inside and not being one to go on expeditions normally, went ahead and threw caution to the wind and the strange sense of forbidding that he was getting from the structure that was in front of them.

As the professor opened the door, they were greeted by just a horrible smell. Etmere knew it well though, it was the smell of rot and death. Something died inside the structure a long time ago and since it had been perfectly sealed, the inside was just filled with the horrible chemical smell that came with death. Etmere watched as everyone started to follow in and Etmere himself took the position at the back of the line, figuring that he was only looking for a specific item and that if any of the people here found the item, he could simply kill all of them, take it, and say that they died when part of the ice collapsed when they were exploring. It was obvious by the color of the bricks and the material of the door though, at least obvious to him and any non-human race that may have seen it if they were around, that the structure was obviously built by vampires, extremely old and ancient vampires as the material was something passed through history, and the reconstruction of the material was lost during the holy war. The Holy Order had tried to recreate the material but it needed something the vampires used to make during the holy war, philosophers stones. Now, he was seeing the material and its ability to stand the test of time clearly. It was obvious that it was very strong and he wondered if modern technology could damage the material or not.

The second they opened the and the smell it him, he tried his best to not gag. Pulling his inner jacket up over his nose, not wanting to have to deal with the full force of the smell. "I hope all ancient places don't smell this bad," He said half as a joke, knowing it wouldn't matter even if they did. Not like he would ever see them, but at least now he knows what his master was hoping to find. Not that he could find a way to transport a whole massive temple to the his master. So maybe there was something that in here.

As they walked through the massive building, on one of the off shoots. He stopped, until he fell from the people right behind him falling on top of him. He looked into the room, it was a small room but he felt like something was both tugging at him to get closer and for him to run as far as he could.

"WHY THE HELL DID YOU STOP TURTLE?!" Someone yelled and he shot back with a, "Sorry, just noticed the markings on the wall." He lied, even though there really were markings on the wall.

Etmere found it amusing to watch the others and how they stumbled around but his attention changed when he felt the air in the structure change. He looked behind him just in time to see the door that they had come through closed. "We have a problem. The door just closed and I don't see a way to open it yet. I guess we're going to want to take more of a look around." Etmere said with a smile. Though that smile quickly faded when he heard something come through the air. It was like a whisper, a voice.

~~~~~
Alessia felt a disturbance in her sleep and she couldn't help but wonder how long it had been since she first went to sleep. She was still laying in her sealed coffin but her magic was leaking from the coffin-like no tomorrow. She used this leak of magic to feel around the fortress until she eventually found the source of the leak. Other beings, by her count a total of three humans entered the tomb and what appeared to be a vampire among them. She focused her magic some more on then to carry out her thought as a form of voice through the air.
"Who disturbs my eternal slumber, the princess of the first dynasty, daughter of the fallen, first of the cursed. Leave now or face the wrath of my eternal hunger."
His hair stood on ends at the voice, he could feel power from that little bit of magic and that scared him. He had no idea who she was, but Herald felt certain that Vincent owed him. Master or not, sending Herald by himself couldn't have been a smart move. Gulping, he got out from under the pile. Taking a deep shaking breathe, he looked around nervously. "First of the cursed?" He whispered, then looked to the other guy who spoke. "How will we know what an exit looks like? I may be a Linguist, but I don't recognize anything on any of the walls." Fear seeping into his words.
Hoping to hell, that whatever in there that wanted to kill... No, that whoever it was that wanted to kill them. Wasn't what his master wanted him to bring back, because Herald wasn't even sure if that was possible.
Etmere was much more shaken than he thought he would be. This was not at all what he or the scouts had originally planned for there to be inside the tomb. They were thinking some kind of weapon guarded by long-dead vampires. Yet, after hearing that voice, he had a different thought in mind. Maybe there was no weapon at all, it was just this very powerful vampire that somehow managed to survive starvation since at least the ancient age when the writings were made. That or there was a weapon that was possibly keeping the old ass vampire alive in the first place. Either way, he knew he was in much more danger than what was initially planned.
~~~~~~

The vampire could sense the fledglings still in her fortress, her tomb. As her magic tendrils wrapped around the different people, trying to identify them better, there were two that stood out to her. One of the people had holy magic around him, which was enough for her to identify him as a hunter, one of significantly weaker power than what she had fought against in the war. The other interesting individual was that of a vampire, who also had access to magic. She let her invisible tendrils dig deeper into his body, connecting his mind with her own to allow a more direct way of communicating with him. It was an old vampire art that nobles could use to form connections with other vampires to allow faster and better communicating.

'I feel you, fledgling. I know not who sent you, or how long I have slept. If you wish to survive young vampire then you best bring these humans to me, so that I can feed. Be warned though, one of the humans with you is a hunter who seeks my power. To me is nothing but a bug, but to you, he could be a danger.'

As she communicated with his mind, letting her voice be heard in his mind as if she was behind him and around him, she placed images in his mind, showing him the blueprints of the fortress, the layout and the path that would be needed for them to reach her inner sanctum as well as the device that was near the door so that her room could be opened.

Herald gulped and froze when a voice started speaking to him. fledgling, was that was a new one. Even so, he didn't dare disobey the voice. He may not want to see the people he has spent time together die, but he also didn't want to die. So looked between everyone, shaking a little, "No one has any idea?" He asked, looking between even all the other terrified people. Taking a shaky breathe, he asked, "Shall we just choose a direction and hope it leads us the right way?" Before motioning in the direction that the map the voice sent to his head.

He didn't know who the voice belonged too, but he was also concerned about who the hunter might be. He huddled closer in his puffy jacket. Continuing to take shaky breathes, as everyone started off in the direction he had suggested. He tried to stay close to the other students. Going over basic spells and easy spells he could used in closed areas, if it came down to it. Maybe he could convince the hunter that he was just a magician and not a vampiric Magician. Magician to his knowledge were never hunted, they just started to fade into the background as technology became more prominent. Those that use magic, now pretty much try to not draw attention to themselves for the most part.

Even of this age of technology he knew the other mages and magicians, he played games with once a month or when he could. If that failed... Then he was just running, but he hoped that didn't fail. He didn't felt like dying, neither to a hunter or to the claws and fangs of his own.

This was bad, he could feel the vampires magic trying to identify and attack him. Thankfully his holy magic was keeping him safe from control but he had no doubts that the others would soon start to be drawn toward the vampire that was more than likely extremely hungry. His only hope was that like the vampires they fought against now this vampire got weaker the longer it starved, meaning that it should be extremely weak and fragile right now after how long it has been starving for. "I don't know what it is that we're hearing but I have a guess that the truth should be coming out now." He pulled a pistol from under his jacket and he made sure it was ready to shoot.

"Okay lads and ladies, if you all want to live you're gonna have to do everything I say. Questions can be held until after we're out. That thing we all heard is an ancient vampire. You may think they're not real but they very much are. I have a weapon that can kill it too. I was originally sent to recover some kind of ancient superweapon in order to destroy it so that it couldn't destroy all of humanity, however, it seems like intel dropped the ball this time around."

To say the least, all of the humans seemed confused, except for one of them. Something was off about him and as he used his holy magic to identify him something came back. Magic. "Magician, suspicious that you're here, but for now you'll be helpful. The other humans will slowly start to fall prey to this ancient magic which will only lead them to their death. If you can, use your magic to shield them from its effects and then use your magic to guide us in the direction that the ancient magic is coming from. If we all want to live, we're gonna have to hunt."

She sat in her coffin, the top was closed and unable to be opened from her side. A safety mechanism to make sure she didn't wake up too early. It made sure that only two ways would cause it to open. Either a vampire would find her, signaling her return to rule the world, or the tomb would eventually degrade so much, that it would fall apart and cause her to wake up, signaling that she had been asleep for so long that the world would be ready to be taken over by an unknown creature like herself. Now it seemed the first option was what came to her though. A vampire. It made her excited, after all, if there was a vampire it meant someone survived. Though when she identified the bloodline of the fledgling in her fortress, she was able to tell that it came from a slave bloodline. To think that the lower caste vampires would be the ones to survive. Probably because the smart ones learned to hide and didn't have to worry about status putting a target on their back.

Herald jumped when the guy pulled a gun from his pocket, but managed to only look shocked at what he said about vampires. Before thinking, supposing it made since this was a vampire... At least in a way, but even his master had to eat physical food though and no one has been under here since... Well it has been at least several millennias, so ho- his thoughts were cut off when the guys mentioned he was a magician.

Crossing his arms when he said it was suspicious that Herald was here and he didn't even get a chance to defend himself. Before the hunter started immediately telling him what to do. So he impatiently waited for the hunter to finish. Before it was his turn to start.

"You done sir?" He asked, when the hunter was done. "Ok, then I suppose I can take my turn to say a few things?" He said in a tone, that suggested he was going to say it anyway. Pulling up his zipper as he realized the one to his outer jacket was starting to slip. "1. Is it so unusual that one would be curious about this continent? Magic or no," He ignored the disbelieving looks the people he had been traveling with gave him. "You don't honestly think that we all hope to be so ignorant that we might as well be sticking our heads in a pile of horse dung. I've been working my way up to having a Masters' degree and several of my classes have led to this trip. That is just what happens, plus as I mentioned before. I'm a linguist, since I have to learn dead languages for some of the more advanced or even a couple of the common spells that exist. I figured I might as well be come a certified Linguist and archaeologist. So do forgive the fact, that a scholar that just happens to be gifted in magic. Just happens to be in a place where people come to learn, regardless of where that is." He held up two fingers.

"Yes that was all 1." He said with a huff, "2. Your aren't as educated as I would have expected." He sighs and shakes his head, "I thought the Holy Order taught their students about magic, despite what people think. It isn't unlimited, why do you think some of the most famous magicians have died doing tasks they are famous for? Magic has a three fold limit; Mental, Physical, and Magical. I have a decent amount of magic and practice. So I could do what you ask. However, it would be quite draining and depending on what your fight with a vampire. Who you don't even know if they are trapped, since they haven't come to us yet. There is no telling if you will either need a hand or if I will need to keep things from out right killing our team because, your order isn't really known for clean simple fights without destruction. Which leads me to 3." He said, holding up three fingers.

"If you are going to lead us into a fight to the death with a being that is likely older than time, because" He points up to the miles of ice above them. "Then, instead of going in with a magician that could potentially be drained from fighting of a force that is who knows how strong. Maybe, I could just put a Magical Dampener up as we get closer? Not like I want anyone to die either. I've been living with these people, I should be able to cut any thread she has on them, but that would also allow me a bit more strength to throw up an actual shield or barrier. Should something happen," looking to the other students that came down with them. One of whom gave him a scared look.

All Herald could do was give him a hug, which he returned. Adding softly, "'Sides. Not like I expected to go down a hole to some unknown ancient threat to life as we know it." Then looked to the professor and to the hunter again. "I can make a guiding orb, they don't take much to create." He said, thinking about the image the voice had sent him and created an orb, a little bigger than a softball. At his command it would lead them the way the voice had showed him to go. "Will that work for now?" He offered, having a feeling the Hunter wasn't exactly going to be happy.

"Whatever, but if any of them fall prey to the vampires magic, let's be clear. A bullet to the back of their skull is what will be coming. Don't think that excuses you either heretic. The only reason we don't hunt your kind is that your people seem content to fade to the books of history and to die out. Now let's move." Was all he said before pushing past the heretic and following the orb. As they continued to follow it, it started to lead them upward, higher into the fortress.

It took them about half an hour but they finally reached what looked to be a twenty foot tall and ten-foot wide door. On it was intricate carvings showing a single picture. A warning. Just looking at it was enough to instill fear in people even if they couldn't read it. As they got near the door the vampire who was laying in her casket used her magic to make the door slowly creak open. The inside of the room was filled with extreme amounts of gold, silk, and other high price items. In the center was her casket, still closed to the world.

Heralds' mouth opened and closed for a moment, as if trying to figure out what to say. Before slapping his face, barely managing to keep his eyes from flashing with rage. Before exhaling through his teeth. The orb would only move about 50 yards away from Herald, before stopping. As if waiting for it's creator, so He started walking not wanting to hold the group up. "Do you even know how ironic it is? The Holy Order, used to employ and work side by side with Magicians. Do you even realize you never hear about magicians anymore? It's actually not because we are disappear, it's more because most of us only ever wanted to better humanity. At heart a lot of magicians were philosophers and ideolists. That is why we don't mind, not being in the limelight. We still help out where we can and deal with our own, should anyone step out of line, but we are learned men." He knew the man wasn't listening and honestly didn't care.

These weren't something he has gotten so say in a long time. So now that he started, he couldn't stop, until his rant was done. "We can no more help that use have magic, than you can help the color of your hair. It is more dangerous for those who are naturally gifted in magic to not learn how to use it. It can be quite the destructive ability, if not taught control. So, what I would like to know, is how the Holy Order came to see us as heretics. When we used to be partners in protection and peace?" He said not expecting an answer, so continued the rest in near silent, except for answering the odd question the rest of the group may have had.

When he felt they were getting closer to the vampire, he put the dampener on the group. So that no one would get shot by the hunter. Then when the door slowly opened, he looked around the open room. Giving the hunter, a 'I told you so' look. Before finding her tomb, "Looks like this is where the vampire is. Lets get this over with, so we can leave." He said, looking for the device she showed him. The Orb by this point was just floating in the middle of the room shining brightly and giving them light. When he find the device, he will touch it and try to figure it out.

As the vampire touched her coffin, it was like an instant connection between him and the vampire that was sleeping inside of it. There minds touching as her body finally decided awake. As if in response the coffin made several snapping noises as different internal locks disengaged. As the lid lifted up and started to slide off the hunter came over and quickly shot all twelve rounds into the body that was laying there. For a moment he thought he killed her but she sat up from the spot she laying and the bullet holes in her head and chest just spit the bullets back out before closing the wounds in general. "Finally." Was all she said before she smiled with her fangs appearing. Her own magic quickly destroyed the light and threw the place into darkness as she lurched forward and grabbed the hunter, killing him and pinning his body against the wall. As she moved the door to her chamber quickly closed locking everyone inside the chamber with her. She quickly consumed the blood of the hunter and then stood up.

She snapped her finger and several torches that were in the room suddenly caught flames and gave the room much more light. As she stood there, the dead hunter body behind her she smiled looking at the terrified humans and the vampire who had freed her. "Holy blood isn't the best tasting food, but anything works after who knows how long I have been asleep." She looked at the human, her tongue running over her lips at the thought of enjoying the taste of their blood.

When the her magic over whelmed Heralds' he let his dampener dissipate too. He didn't lie earlier when he said he didn't want anyone of the people he has lived with these last few weeks to die. However, he also couldn't disobey her either, he could feel the power difference between him and her. It would like trying to come an ant to an elephant. All it would do is get him killed too and never find out if she was what his master was looking for.

So as much as he may or may not want too, he slumped against her Tomb and thought. 'I hope you enjoy your, meal.' Just staying where he was, so she could do what she wanted. Letting her spend as much time as she wanted on it, but closed his eyes.

She smiled when he proceeded to choose to not stay in her way so she moved and slowly killed the rest of the humans, enjoying the screams and begging that came from them until they were finally all dead. Then she started to consume all of the energy they had, drinking all of their blood, making their very bodies shrivel up like all the moisture was taken from them and they've been laying there for years.

After she was done she then looked to the vampire that was in front of her. Slaves blood, she could smell it easily. She quickly moved to him and pushed him to the floor, one hand on his neck as she sat on top of him, looking over his face. "Slave blood. Not worth drinking. Though even a lowly blood member deserves some kind of reward for freeing me. Get me where I want to go and I will give you a gift. The taste of my blood, something to raise any vampire up to a stronger level. Of course, I can't imagine why you wouldn't want to help me anyway." She said still overlooking his face and taking in the features before getting off of him and walking over to where a pile of silk was sitting. Her clothing was in almost perfect condition but her magic was focused more on preserving her and not the clothing so there were a few holes in different places.

Having felt her magic restored partially by all the blood she just drank she put her hand on the silk, which made it move around her and start to fill in the holes before leaving her with her outfit now repaired. "Much better." She said with a smile before moving over to the large doors, putting a hand on them. As she did the black obsidian started to glow a more eerie purple as the fortress started to hum with energy. Small vibrations could be felt as rooms moved into different locations in order to make a straight access hallway to the entrance of the fortress.

Herald covered his ears as she started to brutally murder the other. Trying to tune out the screaming, until He felt himself forced to the ground. His eyes shot open and they were a bright red from shock and reflex. As he tried to readied for what may come next, only a fight wasn't what happened. Instead she just pinned him, holding his throat. Saying something about Slave blood? He didn't know what that meant or why she was offering her blood. Never in his 300 years, had he heard that and not have the female vampire try to make it sound like a sexual thing.

So he was more than a little confused, terrified, but confused. Both of which only grew as he watched her fix her clothes. He didn't dare try anything though, he might be young compared to his master, but that didn't make him dumb... Even if his master seemed to think so.

His jaw dropped as the girl made a long hall to the entrance, slowly he got up and took a few steps forward. "Where do you want to go? Also are you what my master wanted me to get?" He asked, not meaning to ask the second question, but now it was there. Out in the open.

A master sent him to fetch her, like an item, or a weapon of some kind. The hunter thought she was a weapon as well. It made her wonder how the world must have changed. "To get? If I were you I would watch my tongue. I don't know who your master was, but they are no longer your master. I am now. If you want to continue living and gain whatever it is your heart desires, you'll follow me." She then turned to look at him, crossing her arms over her chest as she looked at him with slightly closed eyes and a raised eyebrow. "To think that is has been long enough that the vampires of this age don't know the proper etiquette for waking me up. The first place we must go to is the astral observatory. I need to commune with the Astrals to be updated on the worlds new shape." She then walked over to him and put a hand on his shoulder with a smile on her face now.

"How many more people know that we are down here? Humans? Hunters? Vampires? The more information you can give me, the better off you will be." As she smiled her eyes turned redder and started to appear like cat eyes and her fangs started to show. She was still thirsty, she would need to drink at least a hundred more human adults to fully recover her energy.

Clearly he had stepped on a nerve and he felt bad about that. So he took a deep breathe. Trying to start over, "Ma'am. You want information? Then I'll tell you what I know. My master, is the one who turned me. He says he is my teacher and is honor bound to keep an eye on me until he trusts that I will be able to survive on my own without him. When he found out there a was a human school taking a trip up to this unbelievably cold continent. For some reason, he was adamant I join this trip and would only tell me that I needed to keep an eye out for anything... I suppose the best way to phrase it is, not normal for here." He said remembering how Vincent couldn't find the proper words in English and switched between several dead languages. Which resulted in them arguing in Latin,

"I'm sorry if I offended you ma'am. I meant nothing by it. As for your question for who is all here, I believe about 60 humans in total... Counting the ones you already ate, there are about a dozen up on top of all the ice. Waiting for us and trying to protect everything from the coming blizzard. While the rest is a ways away, at the coast. Trying to warn the ship, so it doesn't get stuck or damaged by the incoming storm. Everyone who knows we are down here, think we are just after either a giant pocket of air in the ice, finding the ground for the frozen continent. Or a hidden sign of life from an ancient society, like pottery or an arrow head or something. There was actually a bet going to to see if we would do anything more than ice samples and what we would find if anything." He said honestly.

Before continuing, "I think the hunter that was down here was the only one, but I know I was the only vampire... At least until you woke up. Also If you have an Observation dome in... I'm sorry, I'm not sure what you call this place? Anyway, it might be hard to use, since we are many feet under ice." He felt bad having to be the one to tell her this.

There was something else he was scared to ask, but he knew he had too. "Also ma'am, I do hate this doesn't come of as rude as well. However, who are you?"

Her hand was still on his face as he talked and asked her his question. With each new question her hand grabbed his face tighter and tighter until she finally pushed him up against the wall, her fangs barred almost like she was ready to kill him. She took her hand off though instead and turned away from him, putting her hand to her face as she started to think.

"I guess it can't be helped depending on how long I have been asleep for. My observatory is not here in this fortress, it is on Europia. As for who I am." She turned back to him, letting her magic seep out of her again to let her power start to be felt once again. "I am Alessia, princ.... Queen... of all vampires. Child of the gods, enslaver of the mortal races, destroyer of humanity. You are now my loyal servant, so you best tell me your name so that I know what to call you." She was annoyed that she would need to explain who she was but she knew that it was to be expected.

Especially considering her plan was to wait until the world had completely forgotten about vampires so that she could come back and completely rebuild her civilization. If parts of her civilization somehow managed to survive in the first place, it would make her job easier, even if they somehow managed to lose some information on their people in the process.

Herald honestly thought he was going to die. When she let her power come out, he made his shrink. He already know how much stronger she was than him. She may look young, but any competent magician would be able to tell when there was such a vast difference between them. He clearly had no say in the whole subject thing, "My name is Herald, your majesty." He said simply, thought after a moment. He said, "If I break one more bit of bad news. Could you please not kill me for it?" He asked, knowing how few of them left existed might send her in either a fit of rage or a fit of destructive disbelieve. Neither of which he want to be caught up in.

He got back up and started for the entrance once more. Since they would have to leave at some point.

"Can't possibly get worse than finding out that my people don't even know who I am anymore." She started to walk behind him now. Her hands behind her back as she walked with little care in her step. "You may speak Herald. Anything you have to say will only serve to inform me of the current state of the world which can only help me. You do not need to worry about me killing you, at least not yet. I have many uses for you, and I have many needs that require you right now. At the very least you will be allowed to live until your use is gone. However, if you are a good servant and always do what I ask of you then you will live long past your usefulness. The humans once thought me and my family were gods. To one of your bloodline, you might eventually think the same thing over time. Therefore it would be best to please me. If there are indeed people up there, it would be best to make sure this boat of yours doesn't leave the port. We will need it to get off this continent, especially if it is now covered in ice."

As she followed him the tunnel continually went down until they reached the entrance. Upon exiting onto the ice Alessia looked around at the cavern they were in. She then looked up and narrowed her eyes. We are quite far down it appears." She then turned to lock back at the fortress and put her hand to the door, making it close back up and seal the structure one more. "There, that should keep the weapons and everything safely stored. I would hate for a human to accidentally find one and release some kind of plague before we have enough cattle safely stored."

He listened to everything she had to say, wondering how someone could think so highly of themselves. Even so, he didn't dare contradict most of what she said. So he started with the port and showed her how to hook into the device we used to get down there. "Well, the boat isn't in port yet. It was supposed to arrive today, half of the team stayed back to secure everything and make sure it didn't dock. Since it wouldn't be docked until the storm hit and as soon as the storm it. It would be stuck and damaged, leaving us with no way to get home. After the storm, it should come back, at least as close as the frozen ocean will allow. So it would probably be more advisable to wait for the storm to pass. The ship should be back in a day or so. That way our way out of here is not damaged or liable to break down on us." He hooked himself.

When they were ready to get going on the long way up, he took a breathe. Hit the button for them to start going up and then said, "As for the bad news... Your majesty... There aren't many of us left... The ones I know exist... Well, it's less than 50... I'm sorry," It was all he could think to say. Hoping she didn't take the news too hard.

As they started to go back up on whatever the contraption was she decided to answer. "Less than 50? Well... That is certainly a lot more than the initial plan called for. It was originally estimated that I would sleep long enough that every vampire would be hunted down and killed, forcing me to completely rebuild my empire. The fact that some vampires are alive in the first place means that I will already have some subjects to work with and have serve me, in taking over again."

She held onto the rope tightly as they slowly went up the tunnel of ice, becoming more and more aware of exactly how deep under the ice they were. She was curious to know how it was that so much ice had managed to pile on top of a continent. The land had certainly changed in many different ways since before she went to sleep. She was interested to see how else the world had changed so far.

He was shocked how well she took it and knew how to react to her words even less. So he just sat in silence, letting the vampiress in a childs' body plan and scheme. As they reached the top, he let everyone feel shocked. Before sending out a quick spreading mist, that put everyone to sleep. He may not want anyone to die, but he also knew, that if he wanted to live. He couldn't afford them telling the main camp. Then pointed to the wall of darkness that was getting ever closer, "That is the storm I was talking about. Pretty much a wall of snow and ice, it will pass in a couple of hours. For now though, it maybe best to to finish making this place storm proof and waiting it out. As the Main camp, I was talking about earlier is hours away by our fastest transportation." He said honestly, as he unhooked her and helped her onto solid land.

She looked at the storm that was out there. "Fine. I've been sleeping for thousands of years, I guess waiting a few days won't hurt. I suggest you finish storm-proofing this area then. After which, take the cattle and tie them up. I may have uses for them later down the road like making more slaves to serve my needs. Are there any cattle up here you fancy? It would do good to make a few that you find attractive to serve as a reward for you for when you do well at the tasks that I hand to you." She looked to the large metal device that was over the hole they came out of.

"Certainly amazing how much humanity has come since I went to sleep. They used to rely on pleasing us to get what they wanted, then they turned to magic. I am curious to see this ship and what it looks like compared to what humanity used to use." She then walked over to what was one of the portable structures and went inside of it looking around. Several people were still on the ground asleep and looking at them made her hungrier. She knew she needed to hold off on eating them for now. If only fifty other vampires besides herself currently existed she would need to make more servants and soldiers eventually.

At first he was a bit annoyed that she was going to do all that storm proofing by himself. However, it was forgotten almost as soon as she asked if he found any attractive. "That is sweet of you, your majesty. Honestly, I haven't thought about whether I found any of them attractive or not." He replied honestly, tying them up. Wishing she would stop calling them Cattle.

"I certainly know about the depending on magic part of history. I was born during that part, it is how I learned to use magic and I guess in a way. How I met the man who turned me," He said honestly. Not seeming to care if she was still there or not. Once everyone was tied up, he put blankets over them. So they wouldn't get too cold and moved as fast as he could to try and finish all the preparations in time. Which at least for him, was making sure the people. Where in tents or some place they could be warm.

He didn't know if he could finish storm proofing everything, by himself it would be cutting it close. He would try his hardest to get it done though.

She looked around the tent she was in and snapped her fingers. As she did so many different blankets and bedrolls and furniture moved around on their own until they started to form a sort of throne-like chair for her to sit in. As she did she grabbed some of the blankets and threw them over herself making herself much warmer. "Ahhh that's much better. Stupid ice and snow, I built here to get away from you." She said annoyed as she was talking to herself since her new servant was off making sure the place would hold up against the storm. As she leaned back in the chair she thought to herself.

"I wonder who survived the war. Obviously, someone had to survive in order for there to still be vampires around. Someone strong enough to be able to hide what we are while blending in with humanity. Clever, well trained. Someone of at least soldier caste power. Not a true blood though since the vampire here is a slave caste. If they could birth a vampire above slave caste they would have sent the stronger vampire to find me. Instead, they sent a slave caste which means they can only birth slave caste vampires, or use the vampires they create which are automatically slave caste. So someone who was taken in and turned into a higher caste with the soldier caste being most likely. A noble would have already worked to create a lot more, there is no way they could resist. Royalty I guess would know to stay hidden and create little until I came back to life but the chance of one surviving the assault on the castle is extremely low with the knowledge I currently possess. So many questions, not enough answers, all very annoying." She thought out loud as she spoke to herself, waiting for her new companion to come back from whatever it was that he needed to do to make the area safer.

It took almost an hour to make sure everything was secure enough to survive the storm. As well as have people where they wouldn't die, wrapping them in any blankets he could find. He even worked to make sure the machine was safe, since it sounded like the 'queen' would want to come back here eventually. It was already started to storm on him, by the time he finished. Before going and joining her in the tent, shivering his hoods pulled as far over his head as he could.

"Finally done with making sure that the base would survive the incoming storm. I am surprised you just didn't use magic to throw up an environmental shield around the area to make the storm simply go over us like we're in a dome." She said as a sort of off the side comment at him as she watched him come into her tent. "So you said that you were turned into a vampire during the time of magic, yet, I feel like the time of magic that I know is very different from the time of magic you know." She closed her eyes for a moment thinking of a way to identify how much time had gone by.

She opened her eyes when a thought came across her mind. "If your master sent you to the ice, they must have known I was there, which means they have been alive since at least the war. If they have told you about the war before, have they told you how long it has been since that war?"

Once inside the tent, Herald pulled his hoods down and shook little bits of Ice and Snow from his hair. "Probably," He answered to the ages of magic they knew being different from each other. "I've talked with other magicians who theorize, that there were up to four different ages of magic. It's actually quite the interesting thing to listen to. Anyway, I didn't use one of those, because I have a sneaking suspicion I'm going to end up using a lot of magic here soon. So figured I'd do it the normal way this time." He answered, before thinking about what she said about Vincent.

Before shrugging, "Judging from how old he feels. I wouldn't be surprised if he was that old. However, he never talks about his age. Much less really anything about his past. Including this war you are talking about and again. He didn't really tell me you were here, just that I might find something, here." He said honestly.

"Well, based on what little knowledge I have of my current position in time I would say that I am probably from the first age of magic. Whenever that was, I am sure there is many vampire magic that has been lost to the age of time. Since you appear to have an affinity for magic and was some kind of user before you were turned. Does that mean you have an interest in the magical power one can gain? I don't know what your master knows but I know quite a bit that can be used, especially when it comes to war and combat."

She smiled and snapped her fingers again, more stuffed moved around to form a table in front of her as well as a smaller chair on the other side of the table for Harold to sit in. "I am interested in hearing more about your old master though and who he is. Might help me to possibly identify who it is that survived during the war and whether or not we should see your master before we stop at the Astral Observatory."

Herald notice, "I was still just a student, supposedly I was a fast learner though. I don't really know if that is true or not. Even so, I like learning and practicing more magics and spells, even after I was turned." He said honestly, he watched her move and form things. Sitting in the chair she made for him, he said. "I'm not sure how much I could tell you about him. I have lived with him for over 300 years. I know he is quiet, loves his suits even when asked to relax and wear something more casual. He likes long walks. physically he looks young still, but his eye give away an age where if he told you he saw the sun being born you'd probably believe him. Despite coming off quiet and aloof, if something happens. He is one of the first people to step forward and defend you. Unlike you, he doesn't much seem to care about ranks... No offense your majesty," he quickly apologized. Before going quiet for a second, "I think the only other thing I can think of, is he fact that he likes to watch. It can be parties, people taking walks, going on horse back, taking lessons of any kind, doesn't seem to matter to him. He'll just be in the background seemingly going unnoticed by all and just watching the world move around him."

By the end, he was surprised. Turns out Herald new more about his master than he thought, sure he didn't know his favorite color, animal, or food, but he thought he knew about half of what he actually said.

"Hmm, doesn't sound like anyone I know. I'm not surprised though, beings change with time, we evolve in new ways. Especially when you become responsible for bringing back a dead race. You have to learn how to go from dominating the cattle to hiding among it, pretending to be one of them. Knowing that if the holy order finds you, that you will be hunted until either you are dead or they think you're dead." She started to look off into the distance as she continued to talk now. "Knowing that everyone you cared about and everyone who cared about you is now dead, hunted down and killed like animals by the cattle. Knowing that all you can do is wait until the moment to strike back finally comes."

She closed her eyes thinking on it for a moment before shaking her head to clear her thoughts. "Whoever your old master is, they won't have to live with that pain much longer. As soon as I talk with the Astrals, the plan forward to destroying the holy order will become clear to me and we will be able to plan the revival of our race. I will be given the power to bring our civilization back from the dead. New noble families, more soldiers, many more crafters, extreme amounts of slaves and endless amounts of cattle."

Sighing and leaning back in the chair, sometimes he wasn't the biggest fan of being what he was, but truth be told. If he hadn't, he wouldn't gave gotten to see the world, he does now. "That's because the job of ruling the world has fallen to children, to beings who learn and die before they can use what they learn to rule. We vampires live forever, we learn, we adapt, and we continue to rule. If we make a mistake that results in something we don't like, we then adapt and learn from it. We made mistakes that led to a rebellion and we made mistakes during the war. Something we won't let happen again. You're proof of that for example. A vampire sorcerer. Vampires by nature have the ability to use magic, but until one became a soldier you really wouldn't have enough magical power to effectively use it in your job. To turn a human being who possesses magic already means that even among the rank of slave you still possess an effective amount of capability." She said with a smile as she watched him. "I certainly can't wait to see how much the world has changed since I have been asleep. We had scholars long predict how the world would turn out when we saw that our race was fighting a losing war. I guess now, I will get to see exactly how it turned out."

Herald thought about what the tiny queen said and nodded, some of it made sense. Not all of it, but some of it. "Well, if you truly are from the first Era... You will certainly be surprised and probably confused by how the world has changed your majesty." He was still thinking about what she said about magic users and vampires. It made him think of the only true grown female vampire he knew. She only ever turned children, but children who had used at least one power or summoned their raw magic ability and had the potential to learn adn grow their skills. They are all oung when turned. About Teddys' age, he had always called it her daycare.

He didn't understand why she only did kids, could it be, so that they could use magic? Or was he just thinking about this too much.

Turning his mind away from the question, he looked back to her and asked. "So what was the world like for you? before... Well all this," He said and gestured all around him.

"It was beautiful. Cities that were as tall as mountains and as wide as the horizon. A golden age for all the races there is no doubt. Science and magic working in perfect unison with each other. War was a thing of the past, the disease was nonexistent, hunger was nowhere. Really, we did not see the cattle deciding to rebel against us, and even when they did, we never understood why. They were healthy and living a life that made sure they were able to reproduce and pass on their genetic structure. When the sign that we were going to lose the war came, we knew what we had to do. If our race was to survive we would need to fade into that which is known to be a myth. We destroyed our own civilization, reduced it to nothing, to ashes, to the very earth that it stood on in order to hide the existence of our empire from the future. In doing so, we brought humanity down to its knees as well, making sure that they had to start over and that they would have no technology or science at all."

Herald thought about it for a moment, "That sounds quite interesting. However, at the same time. I can't help but wonder if the humans didn't rebel, because of how you treated them?" He offered, partially thing aloud, smiling slightly at the thought of a place where both magic and science could thrive. Where general knowledge was celebrated and not just one specified knowledge over another. That sounded like it would be a great place for learning.

Soon, the thundering on the tent let up a little bit. "Here in a few minutes, it will be light enough to at least travel through the snow. Though, what are you going to want to do with the others? My sleep spell won't last forever and I'd rather them not freeze to death either." He said honestly.

"Cattle should not care how they are treated when they are being fed and kept safe. As for the rest of the humans who are still here, I'm going to cast a spell that will mark a few of them. The ones who are not marked you'll bring to me so that I can continue to feed and regain as much as my energy as possible. The others are ones that are marked will be coming with us. We're going to turn them into vampires so that they can serve me. Controlling them will be considerably easier once I have fed because I will be able to make sure that they stay blindly loyal long enough for them to adapt to their new life as well as long enough for them to realize that I am their master to serve."

She closed her eyes as she used her own life force to spread over the different shelters, feeling everyone's lifeforce as she connected to them on many different levels, finding the ones she liked best who she knew would welcome the gift she was going to give them. When she identified two girls and a guy she snapped one of her fingers. A red demonic looking rune circle appeared in the air above her as tendrils then moved out of it to find the three people, marking them with a demonic sigil on their hands. "They have been marked on their hands. On it is the sigil of my name. It means that the master is me and they belong to me. Though I don't know if any of the vampires but your old master will know how to read it."

Feeling guilty, but not going to disobey her either. Letting her have her food, while when tents got emptied. He would use the time to pack up anything that would need to be packed and making sure the rest were more secured, should more storms come while they were gone.

By the time, she had finished killing and eating all but the three. He had everything ready for them to go, even if it was still snowing a bit it wasn't bad. Herald even managed to find a jacket for the girl. Helping the last three out of their tents as they started to wake up.

She looked at the three people who had been brought before her and licked her lips as she thought about eating them too. However, as they were starting to wake up she knew that chance was gone and that she needed to turn them instead of eating them. She stood up and walked over to them. Vampires could turn humans specifically in one way, by having the human consume the blood of the vampire. How this process happened was up to the different vampires who partook in the exchange.

She walked up to each person and as she did she started to kiss them. As she was kissing them her fangs brushed the inside of her lip and then the inside of the human's lip, letting the blood go between the two wounds like saliva would be exchanged on one's tongue. She did this for all three of them and as the blood went into each of them they would crumble to the floor like their stomach was trying to explode from pain.

As she watched them, they would all eventually recover and the marks on their hands would glow to show that they were temporarily under her control. Their minds were their owns but it would feel like they were trapped in their bodies as the bodies did what Alessia commanded.

"Go to the snowmobiles my puppets, unload everything that isn't fuel." She then turned and looked to Herald, seeing that he had a coat for her which she took and put on. It was many times hotter than when she wasn't wearing it and thought it was weird that humans would device such technologies to go to places that were extreme instead of adapting their body.

"Thank you Herald, I will be riding with you on your snowmobile. I trust you to operate it safely and get to the location that we are going. I don't know if we can go straight to the boat or not but if we have to stop at the outpost that is fine. I am very much, still hungry and death is going to follow me until I have finally eaten my share." She said with a smile putting her hand on the face of Herald as she looked into his eyes speaking. I must say, the sigils of the vampires have changed over time, I do not recognize the house sigil that burns in the place of where your soul would be. I can't wait to meet your creator."

"Then I guess there better be enough people to feed on at this outpost and at the boat. We shouldn't need to worry about having a large crew to man however big this boat might be. The amount here should suffice. After all, vampires that are created serve more than one purpose for their master. They all act as beacons and conduits for my magic. I can see what they can see, and cast magic around them as if I was there myself. Something all masters can do with their servants, that's why the more one creates the more powerful a master is. Though of course, there are things that limit how many servants we can have." She climbed onto the back of the snowmobile looking at him, before leaning against him and wrapping her arms around him, waiting for him to finally start moving as the others turned on their snowmobile and proceeded to start in the direction of the outpost.

I guess that is how Vincent can always find me, Herald thought to himself. Before thinking on her statement, he revved the machine for a minute to give it a chance to warm up. As he said, "To my knowledge. The man who made me, has only changed 2 people. Me and Tiny Teddy," after another moment. The snowmobile shot forward, flying over the snow. Surfing and gliding as it speeds through the snow.

The outpost came into view in about an hour or so, a few sharp turns lifting one side of the snowmobile off the ground, but it never once flipped.

"Weird." Was all she said when they finally started to move toward the outpost. When they arrived she started to look around at everything. More buildings and more technology, all things that she never thought humans would be capable of every making in the first place. She got off of the snowmobile and started to walk through the snow, pulling the jacket closer to herself as a cold breeze came into play.

"It's a wonder why the humans would ever come out here in the first place. To this long forsaken land, I guess it is no surprise I was woken up early by the order. I came here originally in order to hide from humanity, thinking they would never come to a wasteland that even the god of the order had forsaken." She shook her head in disbelief as she started to walk toward the structure. "Is there anyone in there you would prefer to be kept alive, a lover or something? If not I am going to kill everyone and consume all of their blood and energy before wiping this place from existence."

"Humans come here, because they know so little about this place. Penguins are just about the only place that like it here. So they come here to study it and take guess what it must have looked like in eons past." Herald said, his conscience feeling heavy from what she is about to do, but shook his head. Glad that the professors' kid had to stay home this year. He wanted to save everyone, but knew he couldn't save anyone. So when the husky that came on the trips bounded up to him. He hugged the dog, "The only things, I'd need to deal with is Stella here and little Ino. Who is still just a hatchling, knowing the baby bird, he was probably taking a nap in the incubator right about now.

"Well animals are of no concern to me, they are not things that I eat so if you would like them to not be destroyed when I salt the earth here, I suggest you go in and get your bird as well." She snapped two of her fingers and the three vampires she created all went to move to different locations of the compound on the outside. As they walked, the snow underneath them turned red like blood was coating the snow until a circle started to form around the compound.

Once it was complete she put a finger to her head and proceeded to send her thoughts to Herald. 'The ritual circle is almost complete. Once it is finished none of the humans will be able to leave the compound. Then they will all start to choke as the lungs in their bodies stop working. Once they all die from suffocation I'll use my magic to drain all of their blood from their bodies to pool it back over to me where I can drink it all in one go.'

Herald nodded and put people to sleep as he walked by, grabbing Stellas' lead and wrapping it around his waist. Before pulling Ino from the incubator. Waking the confused baby penguin, I tucked him away into my shirt. So he wouldn't get cold. When he heard the princess' words, he gulped but nodded, getting out of the bleeding circle as fast as he could. Not wanting to get caught up in it, nor letting the two animals get caught in it either.

Once Herald was finally out of the city she started the spell. The sky in their area turned red as the sun turned black. The bodies inside the circle started to shrivel as the blood left their bodies like sponges until all of the blood was on the floor in various locations. Then the blood started to float into the air as they started to form orbs of blood in the air, moving through the air until they came out of the building. All of the orbs of blood moved to the center of the compound in the air above it, slowly combining with other orbs until it got bigger and bigger, forming an extremely large orb. Once it had all collected it started to shrink in size as it started to compact before floating over to where she was, taking the shape of a small orb of blood smaller than the palm of her hand. She opened her mouth and the blood went in and as it did, it looked like energy was crackling through her body like electricity. Once her body calmed back down the sun went back to normal and the sky went blue.

She then smiled as a storm cloud quickly formed above the compound. "There, I have gained more of my power back. I suggest all four of you go back in and find any fuel or other supplies we might need to get back to wherever this ship is eventually going to be. After we have gathered whatever it is we need or want, I will turn this place into nothing." She was also allowing the three vampires she was controlling to grab one item that meant the world to them besides grabbing the normal fuel and other supplies they might need.

Herald never felt smaller than when he watched her do her thing with the circle. When she told them what to do, he nodded and grabbing food for both animals. Putting them in a bag, making sure the baby penguin was still comfy in his shirt. He helped gather supplies. Once everything was gathered, they all led the way to where they were supposed to meet the ship. He used on arm to hold the Penguin in his jacket.

Staying on the snowmobile again as they went to wherever the dock was, she leaned forward to whisper into his ear. "I can tell that you are some kind of mage young one. Are you interested in the dark power that can be unlocked within you? We did talk about giving you some kind of reward for unleashing me upon the world again. I could certainly give you more magical power as a reward for you. I know all kinds of dark magical powers, and many of them can be given or taught to you depending on what you are interested in. The power to turn air into fire, the power to make any woman love you, or the power over life and death. Or, we could go more arcane, power over the elements, power over nature."

She said, still holding onto him tightly from behind as she now rested her head on his back thinking about the different powers that she could give him, the different rewards that she was sure she could use to fully have him forsake his old master in order to choose her instead. It was a hard ritual that could only be done in two different ways. Either by having the master give the subject as a gift or by having the subject forsake the master to join up with a new one.

Herald couldn't help but to chuckle, "No offense mam, but you're age is showing just a little bit. You already asked me about black magic before. As I said before, I never mind learning new spells. Though I'd rather not just be given any of the magic, as you put it. I'd much rather learn it and go through those trials and errors that come with it... Suppose you can call me old fashioned like that." He said, feeling her on his back, wondering what she was thinking.

When they came to where the ship would be. He helped her off the snowmobile, before his jacket started to move. He pulled the baby penguin out of his shirt. "This is Ino," he introduced, before setting him down and letting him wonder around on the ice and snow.

"Well, I have yet to eat to my heart's content. I would be careful about calling a woman old though." She said with an almost growl to him before looking at the baby penguin he pulled out and set on the ground. She went over to it and crouched, watching it move around. "I don't know what the point of this animal existing is, but it is now my pet. Hello Ino, you are much better than all the cattle that are currently on this planet. You wouldn't bite the hand that feeds you." She closed her eyes before standing back up and stretching.

"I'll need to wash my head after resting it on your back. Who knows what filth is now on it. I'll wash it in the blood of the humans on the ship. One or two humans should serve to be enough to fill up a container with enough blood for me to properly bathe in it. I have been asleep since the first age, however long that is, I definitely need a bloodbath to make sure that my skin is back to being shiny and smooth." She said as she opened her eyes and looked at the ship with curiosity.

"Cattle has definitely gotten much better at engineering and science though. To build a ship out of metal and make it so that it could still float without the use of magic. Curious, curious indeed. With its size, it's a good thing I made a few thralls. I'll have one thrall stand at the front of the ship the whole time, one at the back of the ship the whole time. One will be standing at the lowest part of the ship all the time and me and you will be standing at the highest room of the ship the whole time. It should allow my magic well enough to grab hold the ship and control it from one area, assuming that humanity hasn't also devised a way to control the whole ship from one room."

Herald thought to mention there is a chance Ino might bite. He was just a baby after all and tends to be hungry all the time. However, he decided it might be best if he didn't mention that. He had a feeling he would still be the one caring for Ino and Stella after all.

After clipping Stella from his waist, she bolted forward. As if she wanted to race the queen, hoping sweet Stella didn't annoy the young queen. Ino waddled after us, then listened to what she said. All he could do was shake his head, trying to figure out how the person claiming to be the ruler of his race was both so intimidating and yet managing to be naive in equal parts. She was bragging about the technology they had back then, but was impressed by a boat? That is certainly something.

When she finished he nodded, "You mean like the navigation room? Ya, they have that, but I don't know how to work them. Not certified in boats or planes, only cars I'm afraid. So you made Thralls? Thought you were making more vampires?" Knowing he probably sounded pretty stupid to her, but he got amusement from her. He supposed he would at least get her to talk. Not like she has had anyone to talk too for the last... Is there even a measurement of time for how long she was asleep?

"I did make vampires. Thralls are a type of vampire, even lower than the slave caste that you belong too. So low that they have no caste because they have no will of their own. They tend to be mindless husks that listen to the orders of their master. They're great for experiments but bad for precise orders. The only time we would use them for precise stuff is if it was under twenty of them since we could control all twenty still without sacrificing any of our attention." She looked at the boat as they walked along the side of it. Her magic was spreading from her as the footprints she left turned the snow black.

Her magic was crawling over the ship, counting all the different people in the ship as she took inventory of all of them and where they were located. "About sixty people in total on the ship. When we board, round all of them up, and identify those who normally operate the boat in the navigation room. With them identified, before I consume them, I can cast a spell to steal the knowledge from their brain to pass it on to the thralls so that they can drive the boat."
