Akira Kurenai-18-female-human
It was early morning, the birds singing their sweet tunes. The day was sunny, but it also appeared as if it was going to rain. Odd, how it was perfectly sunny, yet seemed like it was going to rain. It was unique, yet oddly interesting. ''Mom, how much longer are you going to keep pruning me like a life-size doll?'' she asked as her mother continued to straighten waist-length white hair, eventually putting a crystal-studded hair clip in the back of her hair.
'' Now now, you know you need to always look your best, Akira.'' her mother said to her with a gentle smile.
'' But I'm tired of you taking and hour and a half on my hair each day. It gets annoying.''
''Hush now.''
Sighing in defeat, Akira crossed her arms as her mom looked over every little bit of hair on her head. Finally content with how she looked, Akira's mother dressed her in a Lavender dress that was knee length in the front, anke-length in the back. The top was adorned with a few rhinestones that went up and over the sleeve that draped across her right shoulder. The left side of the top was strapless, and sat snug against the skin just below her collarbone. To be honest, it annoyed her how much her mother dolled her up all the time. While she didn't have much for makeup, just some mascara and a touch of eyeliner, the rest of it was still annoying. She just didn't understand why this had to happen all the time. Maybe for special occasions, but really, all the time like this? It was especially bad around this time of year. While her birthday had been back in early spring, it was about mid-fall her mother started dolling her up at the end of each week until the end of December. What was so important about that time of year that she always had to look nice? They almost never had people over, so what was the point?! If she was going to be dolled up like she was, at least let her go for a walk or something, even if it was an escorted one. Sighing once more in defeat, she looked out the window of her room at the forest in the backyard, waiting for her mom to call her down for breakfast. Despite how beautiful it seemed outside, something felt off about today, but she just couldn't place any reason why.

Aido Nightingale-18-male-pureblood vampire

Upon a chair in a study that rested within a mansion sat a young-looking man, downing the last of a crimson substance the resided inside a glass chalice. It was blood- also known as his breakfast. He needed to make sure he was well nourished for the day- he didn't want to scare off the girl he was to meet today. It was important that he didn't frighten her. All these years he had been waiting for the day to come in which it was time for him to collect his end of a deal he had struck with a mortal woman years ago, who had at the time been carrying a child. In exchange for her safety, and the naivety of her child in terms of knowledge about the world outside those sheltered walls they called home. However, there comes a time in life in which one can no longer remain innocent and naive, a day in which they must face reality if they are too continue on in life. After he finished his breakfast, Aido took a shower, afterwards dressing in a white shirt beneath a black vest, followed by black pants and dress shoes. Better to make a good, over-dressed impression than a bad one, yes? Grinning to himself he took one last look in the mirror before he left his manor, on route to collect his end of the deal. He had stopped by every few years, secretly, to check on the family he had made the deal with, though they never knew he was there. They wanted their child entirely sheltered from vampires, so he obliged. He just needed to make sure everything was going according to the deal, so he stuck to the shadows every time. Today though, today was different. Today, he'd actually get to speak to the family again, and actually meet the one who had been promised to him. Smiling he continued on his way to the house of the human family.

"She's eighteen now, isn't she?" "Who?" "Oh, please, don't act like you don't know who I'm talking about. Your mate, Yuuta. She's eighteen now, right?" Yuuta's ever so loyal, and annoying; friend questioned as he walked Yuuta to his girl. Before Yuuta could think to form a verbal response, his friend continued. "So, then, since she's eighteen are you on your way to collect her?" Yuuta paused a few steps from his car to turn and face his friend. "Could I ask why you're so curious about my life, Daido?"

"Why, because you're my friend, of course! Am I not allowed to care about the life of my dear friends?" Daido exclaimed as he dramatically waved his hand in the air. Yuuta frowned--ah, Daido. Ever the eccentric. Yuuta sighed and rubbed his temple in partial annoyance. "Listen, I'm going to be taking care of a few things today, so you're in charge. Please, try not to burn down the building while I'm gone." "So, you are going to get her?" Daido questioned, completely disregarding his friend's orders and annoyance.

Yuuta grunted. Why, oh why, was Daido still considered his friend? "Goodbye, Daido." with that being said, Yuuta spun around and headed for his car. And then Yuuta was in his car and driving off in the direction of the hidden world he had created for his mate. Daido was right. Today, Yuuta was going to collect his mate. Now that she was of reasonable age, Yuuta saw no reason to keep his identity or her relationship to him a secret.

He drove for a good couple of hours before finally arriving at his mate's house. It was a closed off estate that he had created especially for her--one with a garden, a lake, and plenty of free space to frolic around in. But it was also surrounded by fences and guarded by the highest security money could by. No one could say that he didn't keep his promise to his mate's family. Yuuta pulled up to the main building of the estate--a large, decorative house--and turned off the car. With one last breath, Yuuta slid out of the vehicle and approached the front door. Then, he turned the knob and stepped inside.

"Did you do your chores?" "Yes." "And did you do your homework?" "Yes." "Did you--" "Yes, mom." Natsumi interrupted with a frown. "I've done my chores, finished my homework, practiced the piano, and finished the book you wanted me to read. I finished it all because I am trapped inside this house with nothing to do." she threw her arms up in the air, obviously frustrated with her situation. And she had a right to be--even though Natsumi was eighteen years old; she had never stepped foot off of their property.

Natsumi's mother stopped scrubbing the dishes to turn around and face her daughter. "I know you're frustrated, Natsumi. I am, too. You don't think I don't want to leave this place as well?" she questioned as she slowly approached the kitchen table. She took a seat across from her daughter with a long, heavy sigh. The older her daughter got, the more difficult she became to handle. Natsumi was curious, and while such a trait was normally harmless, it would end up being the death of Natsumi.

"Then why can't we, mom? Why can't we just leave?" Natsumi questioned, her frown deepening. Her mother bit the inside of her cheek--she couldn't tell her daughter of the horrors just beyond the estate gates. She couldn't. Not yet, at least. "Because, my darling girl, there are... bad people beyond those gates. Bad, terrible people who will stop at nothing to hurt people like us. But behind these gates, and in this house, we are safe."

Before Natsumi could ask her mother about the bad people or their terrible intentions, the woman had stood up and returned to the sink. "Now, enough talk about the outside world. Why don't you do me a favor and go fold the laundry? You may have finished your chores with ease, but I'm afraid I'm having some trouble completing mine." her mother laughed as she placed a clean cup on the nearby sink. Natsumi huffed, though didn't fight her mother on the matter. Her mother had changed the subject, and once that happened there was no use in getting any answers out of her.

Akira
Up in her room she heard the front door open, but thought nothing of it. To be honest, she figured it was just one of her parents were going outside to the garden or something. Mother did always enjoy having flowers as the centerpiece at the dinner table. Maybe today she'd have some lavenders, or maybe some roses. Either would be pretty. So, thinking nothing more of the door that had opened downstairs, she focused on sketching what she thought a big city would be like based on books she had read.

Meanwhile, downstairs, breakfast was almost ready. A nice, typical homemade meal consisting of pancakes, sausage and some strawberries for the pancakes. Akira's mother was about to call her down, and her father was sitting in the living room watching a movie when the front door opened. They hadn't been expecting any visitors. Her father shot up from his chair, ready to defend his family, and her mother dropped a plate, which shattered when it hit the ground. They knew he wasn't human- it was evident by his demeanor and high class appearance. However, it took them a moment to recognize the vampire. When they did they relaxed.. mostly, but not entirely, because they knew the most likely reason that particular vampire had walked into their household: for Akira. No matter the circumstances, any parent would hate sending their child away. However, in these circumstances, it was all the harder. Today's society was run by vampires. They'd been hoping this day wouldn't come , dreading it, but they knew the peace and ignorance couldn't last. Her father looked away from Yuuta, avoiding eye contact. Her mother , on the other hand, carefully cleaned up the shattered plate before walking to the doorway between the kitchen and the living room. A sad smile was on the woman's face, acknowledging the situation even if it pained her to accept it. " Well, you've chosen a good day at least. I've got her all dolled up today. " she didn't know what year, day, or time Yuuta would come to take Akira. In all honesty she had tried to forget about the deal as best she could. "Akira, please come down here honey. It's important. " her mother called up to Akira in the calmest, gentlest voice she could.
Hearing her mother's voice shouting at her, she wondered what was so important. Was she getting a new art teacher? She rather hoped so. She didn't need the lessons, but the company had always been nice. So cautiously she made her way downstairs, only to find herself in the presence of a guy she didn't know. He wasn't bad looking, but.... she was rather sure he wasn't a new art teacher. So then, who was he? Friend, for, acquaintance?
" Mother, who is this man? He doesn't appear to be an instructor of art, or any type of teacher period. " she stated, clearly confused by Yuuta's presence in their home.
Her mother didn't respond, instead just staring at her with the same sad smile. Wait... why was her mother sad? Now any curiosity Akira had shown was replaced by a look of worry. " What's going on.... who are you?" She spoke to Yuuta with suspicion. There was something off about him, but she couldn't place what.

Aido
As he walked, he contemplated all the ways the girl might react to him. Fear and bitterness, possibly ? Hm...most likely, considering the circumstances...but that was why it was so important to make a good first impression. Now, he could hope she'd take the news with a grain of salt, appreciate all he's done for her family, and eventually care about him. However, if he had learned anything about humans, it's that their unpredictable in their emotions. Now, once you know their emotions, its easy to predict their actions. It's just the emotions that are unpredictable.
Once to the estate gates he left his personal guards at the gate, knowing the best three humans without the proper weaponry could do is just highly, highly annoy him. A knife to the gut couldn't kill him, but that didn't mean he enjoyed being attacked. It wasn't exactly what one would call a pleasant sensation. That, and he hoped to have some time to get to know the human girl.
Walking along the grounds inside the estate, he smiled at how nice of a job he did. Once out of the miniature forest the grounds were stunning. Fields of Savannah grass and wildflowers, a lovely lake and a stream that flowed across the estate from side to side. There was also plenty of wildlife to be seen. Nothing that could kill any of thehumans, of course. Mainly just herbivores and a few foxes here and there. The house of the estate wasnt small, but it wasn't a mansion either. It was large, a middle class kind of size. Modest while still having plenty of room. He hoped The family had liked everything he provided for them. Afterall, he at least followed through with his promise. No vampire had ever stepped foot on the estate besides him. If one of the human teachers he sent tried to run and hide in the forest, he'd track the human down himself. Now, it was the humans's turn to follow through. Taking a deep breath he walked up onto the porch, knocking politely on the door before turning the handle and walking in. The humans decorated nicely at least. " Remember me?" He spoke with a smile, leaning on the door frame casually.
