The golden age of Heroes came and went in the blink of an eye.

When the first Parahuman revealed his powers and put on his hero costume, the world looked on him with joy and wonder. Powers that only existed in fiction were bestowed upon special individuals, seemingly at random. Vikare was not the first Parahuman, but he was the first regular citizen given power. He moved objects with his mind, saving dozens upon dozens of lives and asking for nothing in return.

His bright smile endeared him to the nation. Countless boys and girls dreamed of becoming a great hero fighting for justice and putting criminals and villains into jail. To this day, his brightly colored costume and purple cape are iconic, with the entire culture of heroism and villainy following his brightly colored aesthetics.

Yes, the world remembers Vikare. The world also remembers when he was clubbed in the back of the head with a baseball bat by an unpowered human while trying to stop a riot, and died in the hospital due to brain embolism a scant few years after his debut. The courts remember the laws they put into place to protect the nation's hero's secret identities after Vikare’s wife was killed and his child crippled after his identity was revealed after death, a villain's cruel revenge.

The golden age of Heroes came and went in the blink of an eye.

Vikare’s death was like a signal to Murphy himself, a downward spiral as event after event drowned the world in misery.

Endbringers, monsters of unknown origin, began assaulting the world. Behemoth, the first of the three, appeared in New Delhi and wreaked havoc, killing a hundred heroes and thousands of civilians with his lightning strikes and monstrous strength before being beaten off.

Leviathan appeared four months later, drowning Newfoundland in the ocean, sending wave after wave of crashing onto its shores and rendering the entire area uninhabitable. No attack has done anything more than scratch his scales, its powers of hydrokinesis serving as both a shield and a sword.

The Simurgh descended upon Lausanne, Switzerland and began singing. Three days later, the entire population began killing each other. The ones who escaped spread their madness to the rest of the world, as they tried killing authority figures. One succeeded, killing the Prime Minister of a nation. The monstrous woman’s powers of precognition and mind control made her the most feared of the three. If she isn’t beaten in half an hour, the city is quarantined off and no one is allowed to leave.

The golden age of Heroes came and went in the blink of an eye.

Despite the Endbringers, humans themselves gladly inflict suffering upon others as well. The Slaughterhouse 9 roam the continental United States, killing and slaughtering rural towns for sport. The Three Blasphemies plague Europe, causing the deaths of hundreds of heroes before the world realized that unless all three were killed at the same time, they would revive over and over. The Ash Beast walks in Africa and no one steps in his way, as all living matter around him is blown up again and again and again.

With the rise of so-called “capes”, the government finally stepped in, forming the Parahuman Response Team. This paramilitary government organization consists of unpowered people and heroes who join the Protectorate, the world’s first government sponsored super hero team. They encompass parahuman law enforcement and have limited military support in the form of strike drones and training for PRT troopers.

You and your fellow Protectorate heroes are transferring in from various cities to help the beleaguered PRT in Brockton Bay, the site of highest parahuman crime in the U.S. It is here where backup is sorely needed, only capable of fielding half a dozen adult heroes to fight crime. The Nazi gang, Empire 88, is the strongest gang in the city, numbering at just over a dozen villains who will gladly go toe to toe with the Protectorate. Kaiser, with his power to make metal spike into swords in a large radius, leads them.

The Azn Bad Boys, a collection of Asian immigrants, have only two villians, yet they prize quality over quantity. Lung is the leader, a man capable of growing and growing as a fight drags on, his power ever increasing without limit. If a fight continues for too long, he transforms into a massive dragon, breathing fire and crashing through buildings. He has taken on the entire Protectorate in Brockton Bay and won. Not only that, he went toe to toe with Leviathan and survived, the only parahuman to have ever have done so.

Brockton Bay citizens are caught between these giants, as well as dozen other issues like the Merchants, the gang that has a sizable control of the drug trade in the city. Like Coil and his band of highly trained mercenaries, controlling only a few city blocks but fending off incursions with military weapons and Tinkertech lasers.

It is up to you, heroes, to make the world a better place. One city at a time.

Powers. The PRT has classified powers into twelve units. You can combine these classifications. If you don’t know what your ability will classify your character as, just ask. Tinkers don’t get secondary powers, because canonically, Tinkers are bullshit.

Keep in mind the Manton Effect, which is the tendency that powers affect living targets or inanimate objects, but not both. All powers have limitations. Maybe your power affects only certain objects(telekinesis, but you can only move rocks), limited range, limited precision, etc. The Manton Effect severely reduces the lethality of many powers as well. One cannot create a forcefield inside a living person. Most pyrokinetics cannot create a fire in you, to boil you inside out. So on and so forth.

Mover - an ability that enhances mobility. The power to fly, the power to teleport, a power to control self inertia.
Example; The Villain Oni Lee can teleport somewhere within his field of vision, leaving behind a temporary autonomous copy. Classified as Mover, Master.

Shaker - an ability with an area of effect. The use of auras, blasts that affect large areas, the manipulation of terrain, the creation of environmental hazards.
Example; the Hero Vista can bend, stretch, compress, and distort non-living matter, making her effectively capable of warping space. Classified as Shaker 9, the strongest in Protectorate history.

Brute - an ability that enhances strength or durability.
Example; The Independent Hero Glory Girl has an invisible force field which grants durability and strength, she can also fly. Classified as Shaker, Mover, Brute.

Breaker - an ability that allows the cape to shift into another state.
Example; the Hero Shadow Stalker can become semi-gaseous and transparent, allowing her to shift through solid objects. Classified as Breaker, Stranger.

Master - an ability to control others and/or create minions. WARNING Masters ARE NOT well liked, and for good reason.
Example; the Villain, Heartbreaker (WARNING KILL ORDER AUTHORIZED ON VILLAIN) can affect anyone's emotions within a large radius. The effect is considered permanent.

Tinker - the ability to create highly futuristic technology or alter devices. Tinkertech does not follow the known laws of physics, cannot be reproduced through normal technological means, and breaks down quickly without Tinker maintenance. Tinkers tend to not get secondary powers either.
Example; the Villain Leet has made lasers turn your skin green, hula hoops that teleport people, and skateboards that can fly by defying gravity.

Blaster - a ranged offensive ability.
Example; the Hero Miss Militia has an energy ball that forms into any modern day weapon. Classified Blaster.

Thinker - an ability that focuses on information gathering. Too much use of ability results in debilitating migraines.
Example; the Villain Tattletale has Super Intuition. The ability to simply know things. She can look at your computer and guess the password correctly or look at building layouts and deduce where the cash is.

Striker - an ability that is melee ranged or touch based.
Example; the Hero Clockblocker can touch someone and freeze them in time for up to ten minutes. They can’t do anything nor can they be affected by anything. Classification Striker.

Changer - the ability to physically alter their form or appearance.
Example; The Villain Lung can transform into a massive, powerful dragon that breathes fire in fights. Classification Changer, Brute, Blaster.

Trump - an ability that manipulates powers in some way.
Trumps are...hard. I’d advise looking at this wiki page and seeing what powers there are. https://worm.fandom.com/wiki/Trump

Stranger - an ability that focuses on stealth and infiltration.
Example; the Hero Shadow Stalker can become semi gaseous and transparent, allowing her to pass through solid objects. Classification Breaker, Stranger.

Characters sheet
Name: Secret identities are important. You do not unmask to someone unless you trust them.

Cape/hero Name: You will be referred to as such, for most of the time.

Age: If you are an adult, you are a full time hero and will be sent to fight villains. If you are a teenager, you are a Ward and generally do not get sent to the frontlines unless things get bad.

Appearance: Just a picture is fine, but it would be really helpful to get a full description of both how your character looks and what their costume looks like.

Power: Think about it, make sure you have limitations, and I’ll assign you your classifications.

Trigger Event: You just had the worst day of your life. That's how you got your power. That's how it works for everyone. A single sentence is fine.

Equipment: What are your fighter tools. Remember, killing is considered a BAD THING, both for heroes and villains but you can still use weapons. For example, Shadow Stalker uses a crossbow that shoots bolts with knockout serum or blunted bolts. Guns are a no-no for the Protectorate and are faux-pas for independent heroes and vigilantes.

Background: Where are you from? If you want something to make your background unique, hit the Worm Wiki for information on cities or come to me, and I can tell you interesting stuff about your chosen area.

Personality: Broad strokes please, I prefer the personality get shown IC instead of being written down as a list in the character sheet.

Samantha "Gargoyle" Ivanova (https://role-player.net/forum/showthread.php?t=96100&p=3083193&viewfull=1#post3083193)

Name: Hannah

Cape/hero Name: Miss Militia

Age: 29

Appearance: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/a1/41/b1/a141b19b86ce205ba4cd5f20f618d16f.jpg
A brown skinned woman of middle eastern descent. Her costume is a set of military fatigues and American flag scarf that covers the lower half of her face. She has brown eyes and hazel colored hair she keeps in a braid down her back.

Power: A green ball of energy that transforms into modern day weaponry. This is mostly limited to guns that fire rubber bullets. But she can use her power to make knives, batons, and tasers.

Equipment: N/A

Background: Hannah was born in Turkey in a rural village. When the country descended into civil war, her village was caught in the crossfire, killing her family and destroying much of her home. After the fighting ended and government troops were driven away, the rebels gathered up the survivors and executed them. Hannah was shot in a firing line.

However, United States military intervention saved her life, as both United Nations and United States troops worked together in concert to drive the rebels away. A medic found her and saved her life. The last thing she remembers before falling unconscious was the United States patch on the man’s arm.

She was airlifted to a military base, and promptly accepted as a citizen to the United States following her refugee status and as a child. After being adopted, she was well on her way to flying into college with high marks, before her trigger event, whereupon she decided that the best way to help the country was to keep citizens safe with her power, just like the medic who saved her life.

Personality: She is unwaveringly loyal to her friends and country, willing to fight tooth and nail for the rules and law to keep others safe. She is generally quiet and well spoken, preferring only to speak when needed. Kind and willing to give others a second chance.

Misc info

"Unwritten Rules"

This regards the so called "unwritten rules" that both heroes and villains abide by. Under no circumstance should you EVER go after a cape in their civilian identity. If you find out someone's secret identity, keep that to yourself. The unwritten rules are there so one's family is never targeted.

If you break the unwritten rules? There'll be hell to pay. If a hero does it, villains, regardless of their relationship will work together to kill you. Same if a villain does it to another villain, and arguably, it can be even worse for them. Other villains will gladly give information to rivals or to the PRT in the hopes that the person who broke the unwritten rules will be killed or tossed in jail.

One of the bigger reasons these rules exist is because of the Endbringers.

In the event of an Endbringer attack, villains and heroes work together to drive off the beasts. As a villain, there are a number of perks for participating in these events. A "truce" will be held, that no matter what, no hero or villain will fight each other, and this extends into a grace period after an Endbringer attack ends. It also boosts a villains reputation in the public eye, with sometimes regular law enforcement turning a blind eye to a villains more harmless ventures.

Follow the unwritten rules.

For your consideration:

Name: Samantha Igorina Ivanovna
[B]Cape/hero Name: Gargoyle
Age: 23
Appearance: This girl reminds you of a tightly coiled spring. She has beady black eyes that are like two drops of oil. Her luxurious, wavy, neck-length hair is the color of chestnuts, and is worn in a businesslike style. She is short and has a thin build. Her skin is pale. She has a hooked nose and hollow cheeks, with a long scar running from her right temple to the corner of her mouth, twisting it into a sort of permanent smirk. Her wardrobe is weird, a mix of military surplus and second-hand stores.
Power: Tinkerer
Trigger Event: Debbie Hart, in a jealous rage, attacked Sam with a baseball bat while she was showering in the high school gym locker room. Paramedics and doctors recorded her various injuries as a broken right arm, displaced right hip, broken ribs, bruised organs, lacerations to face, limbs and torso, right eye popped out of its socket during the attack and was crushed. Trolls supporting Debbie says it wouldn't have happened if Sam hadn't stolen her ex. She was unaware that John Boyle had broken up with Debbie.
Equipment:

Sebastian, her android butler, personal diary and surgeon (medical gear contained in torso and limbs). Helps her to don, maintain, and remove suit.
pEye - prosthetic replacement eye. Short range encrypted camera and microphone pairing that is linked to circuitry in her vision and hearing centers.
pHugin and pMuninn - robotic ravens, mostly used as medium-range reconnaissance drones.
Plasma Blade - projects a force field that contains plasma, powered by a fuel cell in handle. Cuts through most materials.
Tangler grenade - non-lethal bioplastic that flings sticky filaments to tangle and ensnare a person or vehicle, hardens within 20 seconds. Requires a releasing agent to counter the material

first layer is a black plastic protective self-sealing bodysuit, often mistaken for vinyl, which Sam says is actually a living plastic that feeds off of the heat of her body, shedding skin and sweat (will try to deflect the bathroom question). It also helps to hide her scars.
Next is an exoskeletonal strength-enhancing frame that mounts the remaining gear. Currently only able to double her strength.
Helmet is the suit controller with built-in ir/light enhancing cameras, HUD with GPS, LED lamps, transceiver/megaphone combo. AI co-pilot Hermie.
Torso armor contains a reactive force field generator that is triggered by high-velocity strikes. While it may not stop something moving fast enough, it will reduce its impact.
Utility belt holding first aid kit, flash light, pEyes, multitool, granola bar, holster for plasma blade handle, two tangle grenades and releasing agent.
Back plate contains a miniature hydrogen fusion generator that runs off of water, powering a contragrav unit to negate gravity, primary lift reactionless thrusters, and mechanical wings. Will run for a week off of a 12 oz bottle of water. Secondary bottle for pilot drinking supply.
Armored gauntlets that protect the pilot's hands, allows her to handle equipment. contains a secondary reationless thruster for flight controls.
Armored boots contain a secondary reactionless thruster for flight control.

Background: Tomboy navy brat, was moving every two years as her father changed assignments. Made it difficult to keep friends, was the eternal "new kid." Knows how to pack, Used to living out of suitcases and boxes. As the oldest child, she was the responsible one, helping her parents with various projects. Where other girls had dolls, she had science kits and tool boxes.
Personality: Shy loner, more comfortable with books than people. Tends to be very reserved, in social situations before the attack she was very much the wallflower. Science and anime geek. Problem relying on other people, usually tries to do it all herself. Debbie's brutal attack has made her agoraphobic - she only feels safe in her home or while wearing her gargoyle suit. If in an unfamiliar place and stripped out of the suit, she becomes mentally crippled, often curling up in a fetal position, trembling in fear and anxiety. However, in the suit she's a little more open.

Hiding this sheet to avoid confusion.

Looks good, for the most part. Some misc information I have yet to put in is that Tinkers also have a specialty. This is where the Tinker shines and their other tech suffers for it. Is your tinker a specialist in creating androids/robots? Then your prosthetics need to be nerfed. Is prosthetics your specialty? Then your robot needs to be nerfed. Just square that away, and your character is accepted.

Read over the Tinker's entry, revised my sheet a bit.

Name: Samantha Igorina Ivanovna
Cape/hero Name: Gargoyle
Age: 23
Appearance: This girl reminds you of a tightly coiled spring. Her left eye is a beady black dot that looks like a drop of oil, her right is covered by an eye patch. For effect, she sometimes wear different unfunctional glass eyes in the socket - her favorites being a cats eye and one with a blue pentagram. Her luxurious, wavy, neck-length hair is the color of chestnuts, and is brushed to cover the right side of her face. She is short and has a thin build. Her skin is pale. She has a hooked nose and hollow cheeks, with a long scar running from her right forehead to the corner of her mouth, twisting it into a sort of permanent smirk. Her wardrobe is weird, mostly a mix of military surplus and findings from second-hand stores.

Neighborhood kids call her "Mrs. Death" when they see her.

Power: Tinkerer
Trigger Event: When Josh Boyle, Debbie Hart's boyfriend for three years, broke up with her, Debbie's suspicions immediately turned towards Sam, having caught the two of them talking a few times. In a jealous rage, she went after Sam with a baseball bat while the science geek was showering in the high school gym locker room.

Paramedics and doctors recorded her injuries as a concussion, broken right arm, displaced right hip, broken ribs, bruised organs, internal bleeding, lacerations to face, limbs and torso, right eye knocked out of the socket and crushed.

That afternoon, while explaining what had happened at school, Josh came out to his parents and introduced them to his boyfriend, Seth Barry, who lived across the street.

Equipment:

This is a winged powersuit powered by a miniature hydrogen-fusion plant fueled by water - a pint will power it for a week of normal operations, normal capacity is one quart. There is also a siphon system allowing her to draw water from outside sources.

The suit has an AI named Hermie who monitors the suit systems and alerts her to actions talking place on the right side.

The helmet has an augmented reality display, allowing for radar, light enhancement and ir images to be displayed on the inside of the faceplate. The radio and megaphone integrated into the helmet contains a voice-changer circuit that makes her voice sound deeper. There are two nipples inside the rim on each side - the one on the right allows her to sip water, while the one on the left gives her a food paste - which honestly tastes a whole lot better when it's chilled.

A contragrav (not antigravity) generator reduces the effect of gravity on the suit, allowing it to rise into the air - not unlike a helium balloon. Reactionless thrusters on her back allow her to move in any direction, using the wings and micro thrusters in the boots and gloves to steer. People may be knocked back by the thrusters if one is pointed at them. By increasing power to the cG generator, she can extend its field to include other nearby objects, allowing her to float an armored car or tank. Strength-enhancing frame allows her to push high mass objects caught in the cG field.

Torso armor contains a reactive two-graviton pulse generator which can be automatically triggered when suit radar detects a high-velocity strike. The gravity waves can affect the trajectory, deflecting the strike while reducing its impact. People caught in the field will feel themselves being dragged down as their weight momentarily doubles with each pulse.

Suit has utility pouches that contain a first aid kit, flashlight, multitool, replacement food and water pouch.

Background: Tomboy navy brat, was moving every two years as her father changed assignments, usually to out-of-the-way places in various parts of the US and the world. Made it difficult to keep friends, was the eternal "new kid." Knows how to pack, is used to living out of suitcases and boxes. As the oldest child, she was the responsible one, helping her parents with various projects, be it electronics, car maintenance, or home repair.

Where other girls had dolls, she had science kits and tool boxes.

Dislikes talking about her name - "Sam" came about because her father really wanted a boy, and traditionally in his family the son's middle name is taken from the father - who was Igor, so he put Igorina in on the birth certificate.

On her first return to high school following the attack, in a wheelchair because of her hip, she abruptly realized that they were taking her to the gym where the school had decided to hold a special assembly to welcome her back. Student and faculty could hear her screaming in the hallway as she frantically lunged at a water fountain and managed to knock the wheelchair over. An ambulance took her to the hospital where she received x-rays to check her injuries, tranquilizers and clean clothes, while a janitor had to clean up the mess by the water fountain.

The stories of the brutal attack and that special assembly are still being told to freshmen.

Personality: Very shy and reserved, takes Sam a while to get comfortable with people. In social situations where she had to mingle with others, she tends to be the wall flower, mumbling when asked anything and ducking away at the first opportunity. Favors books over people as they provide comfortable escapes without judgment, full of information she could use. Would happily inhabit a library, with a strong interest in science and anime.

Debbie's brutal attack has made her agoraphobic - she only feels safe in her home, her work lab, or while wearing her gargoyle suit, which the later seems to boost her confidence. While therapy has helped her, if abruptly stripped out of her suit, she can still suffer from a panic attack, curling up in a fetal position.

Not much interest in this, are you okay with it just being us two? I'll keep it open so if anyone wants to, they can just drop in when they feel like it.

Just saw this and it looks interesting. Never heard of this series before. Need to research more.

EDIT:
Currently have two characters in mind. A hybrid shaker/stranger, the other is brute.

If I can't do both, any preference?

Can we play villians?

Snotgirl
02-10-2021, 03:34 AM
Shaker/stranger is good for variety, brute is good for being a front liner. Either would make you relatively unique in the team. I think the Brockton Bay Protectorate only has one Brute, and he only has that rating because he can take a hit, not because he's strong.

No villains, because honestly? Each faction is complicated enough that you'd basically be doing a 1x1 with me. You can do a reformed villain. That would require a rebranding. Assault is a former villain.

Enigma

You could also try for an antihero. Someone who's made a few mistakes but has good intentions. They are not the most likeable and have definite flaws, but after wrestling with their conscious, they do the right thing. While they may skirt the edge of evil, they never really cross the line.

Maybe they have someone who knows their real side?

Examples are Mad Max, Severus Snape, Riddick, V, etc.

KRCmdrSheppard

The brute if not a villain would definitely be antihero.

V I would not consider an antihero least not the way I played her/him in my multiple play throughs.

Snotgirl
02-10-2021, 09:55 AM
You can play an antihero type, it's been done in canon. Shadow Stalker, a Ward, was (and still is) a pretty violent vigilante before she got recruited.

With hybrids do they have multiple trigger events or is it a single trigger event or would it be a single trigger event that happens in stages?

The fandom site didn't really go into detail about triggers.

Snotgirl
02-10-2021, 10:41 PM
It's usually just one trigger event. Generally, your triggers have something to do with how your power manifests, but that's not always the case.

Second triggers are possible, but it's so incredibly rare that only one Protectorate member is registered to have had one; Narwhal, the leader of a PRT area in Canada.

https://www.seventhsanctum.com/generate.php?Genname=generalperson is a good place to go for written descriptions. I have combined elements from different descriptions to get what I was looking for.

Hero Machine (http://www.heromachine.com/) allows you to assemble a character picture from various pieces, however with Flash no longer working in web browsers, you have to follow their instructions to download the Flash debugger, then paste in the link from the site to run it locally.

Or you can hire an artist to draw it for you.

Power:
Invisibility: She can cause all wavelengths of visible, infrared, and ultraviolet light to bend around her without distortion rendering her invisible. She has sufficient control over her power that she can turn parts of her body selectively invisible.

Force Fields: Through concentration, she can project a field of psionic force which she can manipulate into several relatively simple forms: rectangular planes, cylinders, globes, domes, cones, etc.

Shock Waves: She can use her force fields as shock waves hitting her opponent with the force field.

Weaknesses:
Concentration: The size, number, and movements of these objects are limited only by her powers of concentration. Once she stops concentrating on an object, it ceases to exist.

Sound: Her force fields are permeable to sound waves.

Trigger Event: See the background section.

Equipment:
Persian scimitar: https://mcishop.azureedge.net/mciassets/w_5_0034782_persian-fantasy-scimitar-sword_415.png

Background: She grew up in Italy. After the death of her father on her tenth birthday she moved in with her aunt. Around the age of fourteen her aunt started dating someone new. The aunt’s new boyfriend turned out to be a mafia boss. He took an interest in Stefania and began grooming her to join the mafia. He trained her to be a thief and to be a femme fatale.

After high school she left home and embraced the mafia life entirely. Shortly after her twenty-first birthday an Iranian businessman began interfering in their business. To prevent hostilities that neither side was prepared to deal with they entered in negotiations to settle the matter. Stefania’s boss and father figure gave her to the Iranian businessman. It was a ruse she would kill him when he least expected it. The Iranian businessman suspected that very thing, he had her locked away with the other women of his harem.

After six years and no heir was produced her captor sentenced her to be executed. She overheard guards arguing over who got to kill the white bitch. Seeing as how she was only one of two white bitches and the other one just got there three days ago, she had to assume she was the one they were speaking of. She began surveying her surroundings for anything to defend herself with. The search was futile of course if there had been anything, she would have used it escape years ago. The guards came for her and dragged her to a room she never seen before. It was dimly lit she could make out no features. The room stunk of blood, urine, and defecation, if she had to put a name to smell she would call it death. It was clearly a room used for torture and execution. They began to rip her clothes off, she refused to be used by these brutes. She screamed. A shockwave erupted from her hand blasting both guards into a wall. She grabbed their swords and killed them both. She could hear footsteps fast approaching way more than she could deal with on her own. She began to desperately look for somewhere to hide. Then the men suddenly burst through the room and paid her no attention at all. She thought it was because of the dimly lit room. She left the room using one of the swords to bar the door. She passed by more guards who paid her no attention. She made her way to the armory and armed the explosives, giving herself just enough time to get out. After escaping she went back to Italy and slaughtered the mafia boss who abandoned her.

Personality: She was once a selfless and caring individual. However, after her father was killed by a drunk driver when she was ten, she grew hardened, cynical, and more rebellious. She was a manipulative mean girl in her youth, willing to bully and walk over her peers to achieve her goals.

She has "daddy issues" due to growing up without any sort of parental guide in her life, which led her to often be manipulated by dominant male figures; a trait that manifested into her working with authoritarian male criminals. She also blamed herself for her father's death for years even more than the drunk driver who killed him due to their last interaction ending with her claiming she hated her father for forgetting her birthday cake and forcing him to go out and buy it.

She is driven & often stubborn. She is also a very independent woman, becoming annoyed when someone tries to tell her what to do or protect her, as she is perfectly capable of protecting herself. Under her hard exterior, she has a big heart, being open-minded, and inquisitive.

Notes:
Fluent in Italian and English.
Semi-fluent in Persian.

Power: She is virtually indestructible. With her exceptional regenerative abilities, minor injuries heal in seconds, and do not even slow her down; more major ones tend to take a few minutes. She has recovered from multiple gunshot wounds, explosions, chemical weapons assault, axes buried in her spine, even a shotgun blast to the face (which simply knocked her off her feet for a bit). However, the healing power does not stop the injuries from hurting.

Weakness: Addiction to painkillers

Trigger Event: see the background section.

Equipment: dual Kimber Custom TLE IIs
Hunting knife: https://www.knivesdeal.com/assets/images/Larger/Night_Crawler_Black_Full_Tang_Hunting_Knife_1.jpg

Background: She grew up Kansas on a farm. She had no intention of being a farmer the rest of her life. After graduating from high school, she set out for LA to become a movie star. She went on audition after audition. She took a job as a waitress to pay the bills in the meantime, she absolutely hated the job. One day while walking home from an audition she came upon a very well-known gangster executing some poor guy. Her natural reaction was to scream, the gangster saw her. She was able to slip away and hide out for a few days. She fled back to Kansas.

She been back home for three months when the gangster tracked her down. He lined up her entire family and made her watch as he had every single one executed. It was then her turn. He took her time with her, he spent hours torturing her to death. Before he could finish her off the sheriff came by for a friendly visit and came upon the gruesome scene. She was rushed to the hospital, but they could detect no heartbeat. She was taken to the morgue. She awoke there in a great deal of pain but completely healed. She stole some clothes and left the hospital. She returned home. There were no signs of the authorities. She went to her father’s gun cabinet, but it was locked. She forced it upon slicing open her hand. She watched it heal like it never happened except for the pain. She grabbed her father’s shotgun and hunting knife. She took a saw to the shotgun to make it more easily concealable. She hid the shotgun & knife in her car. She drove back to LA.

She hunted the bastard down who executed her family. She found him in a warehouse surrounded by his goons. She knew this was going to hurt a lot, but not nearly as much pain she was going to inflict upon that asshole. She made her way through the warehouse taking an ungodly amount of punishment. She made her way to bastard who executed her family killing every one of his men her way. She tortured him in much the same way he tortured her. Where he was going to finish her off with a shot to the head, she crippled him and set him on fire. She watched him burn. To cope with the pain, she took some of the gangs illicit OxyContin right then, she also took a bunch of it for later.

Personality: In layman’s terms, she does not really have a life, she has a job. She has very few friends and, even fewer things to live for. But for the few people and things she does care about, she will do anything. She is somewhat self-destructive and will take almost any chance necessary to accomplish a mission she set her mind on or to help one of her few friends.

At first, i was kinda iffy about the brute. But thinking about it, it's fine. Both accepted. I'll start writing the opening post and hopefully have it ready to go in a day or two.

Oh, and for the record, all hero's MUST have masks.

I like how you brought up my brute killed with guns but why no mention of my hybrid blowing up an entire building full of people then going back and killing her boss. Sure she didn't use a gun but I am pretty sure she has the highest kill count.

I didn't have Stefania reply to Aimee because it was just going to devolve into a literal fight.

Because it would that same conversation, just plus two. In the Worm setting, the PRT absolutely does not fuck around when it comes to sending people to the highest security prison on the planet. When Piggot says "quickly and quietly", she means the Birdcage. No one has ever escaped the Birdcage. The Birdcage has villains far, far worse than your hybrid. To put it in perspective, the Faerie Queen is there. Her power is to literally take the souls of dead capes and bring them back to life under her thrall.

Teacher is there, a man who can give out Thinker and Tinker powers, but the one who is given the power loses free will. Ingenue, who can take your power and boost it...but will also drive you homicidally insane. The Marquis, whose power over bone forced an entire team of heroes to break the Unwritten Rules and attack him in his home.

The one mention is implicit for everybody, and Miss Militia only takes note of your brute because of their similarities. Sorry if you feel like I didn't go into enough detail though, I'll try my best going forward.

Updooted. Feel free to take some initiative here. You could write up your conversations and descriptions of the base yourself or you could do a co-post with me. Either would be fantastic.

Mask thing is important on the streets but what about inside the base? If need to I will change the post I am working on or A&B can scold the infringer.

Infringer sounds like a hero/villain name.

Am I supposed to control A&B? If not that changes how I will do my post. So I will hold off posting for the moment.

On base, it's assumed you don't want your identity revealed, so nobody'll ask. You can unmask if you want, I'm pretty sure everyone on base knows Miss Militia's name is Hannah, but it's still a professional thing.

Yeah, if you want! If you're unsure about how to do their characters, you can send part of your post to me in PM and I'll adjust dialogue as needed! A co-post is always fun to do.

@Enigma
So a part of me really, really wants to run with your stasis field but unfortunately I think I have to just mention this; Tinkertech breaks down very, very quickly. It's the reason why thinks don't just build tons of drones and sit on the sidelines. All tinker creations require near constant maintenance. Making a stasis field for capture purposes is nice but it wouldn't work in the long term because your character would be stuck on maintaining it.

Enigma
02-14-2021, 05:04 PM
The ContraGrav generator burned itself out when the dropped screwdriver joined two or more contacts out of hundreds normally protected inside the casing, creating the stasis field. Or rather, it's still burning itself out because all time stopped inside the field when it was created, and Sam has no idea which ones caused it until she can examine it - which, based on some math she did based on the test power she was feeding it, should be twenty years from now.

Unless she makes a lot of contragrav generators and shorts out different connectors under test conditions. This gives her a possible project and can be masked as her trying to improve her generator.

It's also determining what'll happen if the shorts do occur in a failing generator. As you said, these tinker products require constant maintenance. She's done what she can to isolate the contacts to keep them from coming in contact, but if you determine that her generator has had a critical failure, a stasis field is one of the possible failures.

I mostly took it as "the stasis field in my suit is actually super dangerous, but no one else knows its an issue, so other people shouldn't touch it" sort of thing.

Enigma
02-19-2021, 02:59 PM
It would take another tinker or an experienced engineer to recognize that the generator in the Mk. 4 suit is over-engineered, which might be put down to an overabundant sense of precaution.
