"I don't know anymore. I'm certainly no expert in demon possession. We could ask David. Why would he go after you? He has been wanting me this entire time! He wants a powerful magic user to take over. Or that's the vibe I'm getting. You don't use magic. You have visions of the past and future."
-
She took a deep breath and nodded. "Right. You're right. I just... I'm scared. But we'll be okay." Then her face darkened and she slowly looked at Roger. "Roger, do... Do you remember that fortune teller at the festival?" she asked softly. If she had been asked that same question before today, she'd have said no. But now it had come back to her.
-
Roger looked at her and nodded solemnly. "Yeah. How could I forget that." He squeezed her hand. "I really really hope that she wasn't right. But I don't know how to stop it. I'm not going to take any of his deals and neither would you."
-
She nodded. "Right. I wouldn't."
-
"We should be alright." He said softly, pulling her close again.
-
She hugged him tightly, her arms around his neck. "I'm sorry I didn't come sooner. I should have woken you up right away."
-
"No. It's okay. It's okay. I'll be fine. Promise."
-
"Do you want me to stay with you from now on? To help keep you awake?"
-
He rubbed his face and nodded. "Yeah... I don't want to sleep anymore."
-
She kissed his forehead. "Then I'll stay."
