Into the Breach - Hard Sci-Fi - Interest Check

A distant sun. An endless void. An alien mind trapped in eternity. The dying breath of the last giant. A mountain of bones climbing into the heavens. An obsidian dagger shattering a cybernetic helmet. A quiet glade, grass dripping with spilt blood. A call. A test. A decision, inscrutable. Will you pass, or will you fail?

Into the Breach is a hard sci-fi story I’ve been working hard on recently and am hoping to drum up some interest for. A group of humans from across time are all transported to a strange alien planet. With no memories of how they came to this place, nothing but the clothes on their backs, and a strange sense of being watched, their purpose will soon become clear. They are here for a test. But who, or what, is testing them? And why?

Sounds a lot like Riverworld.

I admit I’ve never read those books, but they seem interesting.

I never read them either. I only ever seen the film and miniseries adaptations.

If you have 5 people, and they speak 5 different languages. How will that be handled? In Riverworld the people of Riverworld somehow made everyone speak English.

Each person has been implanted with an organic chip, which among other things directly interfaces with the language centers in each person’s brain. Sorta like a babel fish if you’ve read the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
