Tom gave her a smile and squeezed her hand. "Hey, you'll find someone! It's a good thing that you stand for what you believe in." He sat back. "I haven't really made time for dates. I downloaded a dating app once and I think I've got one or two pending matches but I've never gotten back to them..."
-
She smiled. "Thanks Tom. And you should go on more dates. Give those two matches a chance." She nudged him playfully. "You're a great catch.'
-
He blushed a little. "Nah, I mean... they probably don't want a nerd like me anyway..."
-
"A nerd? You're so much more than a nerd. You're badass. You're sweet, caring... And you're smart. Get yourself a smarty pants and you will be amazed at how much they will love you."
-
He blushed a little more and smiled. "You really think so?" He grabbed his phone and showed her the app. "...What should I say, then?"
-
Lily chuckled and took his phone. She looked over the chats and she grinned. "Ooo this one is cute!" She said. "Just say hi and ask if they want to go out for coffee or drinks."
-
Tom's blush only grew. "Their profile is really cool. They're non-binary, see?" he asked, showing her.
-
Lily grinned. "oh! I missed that! But that's awesome. Looks like they like animals too. Animal lovers are a definite plus."
-
Tom smiled. "That is very true..." He took a deep breath. "Okay. I'll message them. W-What do I say?" he murmured, opening up the conversation. His thumbs hovered over his keypad as he quickly started overthinking every word.
-
Lily grinned and moved next to him. "Okay. Well, introduce yourself. Then say what you have in common with them. Then suggest a place to meet to get to know each other."
