Julian looked at her, his eyes brimming with tears too. "Thank you," he said softly. "I'm sure the kids will love to have some tacos, isn't that right?" Tommy took a deep, shaking breath, and nodded slowly, though he wasn't quite capable of stopping his tears yet.
-
Alicia wiped his tears away with her thumb. She smiled. "Do you want to help make them?" She asked Tommy as she stroked his hair.
-
Tommy nodded, sniffling softly, and rubbed his eye. He already seemed to have adapted a little, since he didn't even bring his other hand up to rub his missing eye anymore.
-
Alicia smiled and kissed his hair. "Come on them. We'll all help cook." She stood up and picked up Lily who was wiping her eyes too.
-
Julian stood up with Tommy and carried him to the kitchen. He set him down on the counter and poured him a glass of water. He guided the boy's hand to the glass so he wouldn't miss it. "Drink up, buddy," he said softly, and Tommy obliged.
-
Alicia smiled and gently instructed Lily to get out all the ingredients.
-
Once Tommy had calmed down, Julian gave him a jar to open, and he got to work, trying his very best to twist the lid off.
-
Alicia started to brown the hamburger on the stove as she had Lily get the taco seasoning out. She smiled at Tommy as he tried to open the jar. "You almost got it buddy."
-
Tommy finally managed to open the jar, and smiled excitedly. Julian smiled back at him and kissed his forehead. "Good job, son. I love you." He emptied the jar into a pot to heat the food.
-
Alicia smiled. "Alright kids... what kind of salsa are we using?" She asked.
Lily grinned. "Not spicy salsa cause that gives dragons tummy aches!"
"That's right." SHe gave the jar to Tommy to open.
