Name: Melanie Kim
Age: 30
Occupation: Business Owner (Kim's Fine Gifts)
Appearance: 5’6” slender build with over the shoulder length brown/black hair and chocolate brown eyes. She has a moderate tan complexion and typically dresses conservatively.
Spoiler: Melanie Kim
Personality: Melanie is a calm, quiet, and very friendly woman. As a fine gift shop owner, she is out going and interacts with all the people of town as well as visitors. She does like to interact with members of city leadership so as to keep current on all regulations affecting her business.
She has remarkable control of her temper as it is needed when dealing with customers on a daily basis and is often soft spoken. There are those who express concern for this soft hearted woman and sometimes linger in her store to prevent rough types from harassing her.
Although practicing non violence, she has studied Taekwondo since a child and holds a Black Belt. She often offers unarmed self defense courses to several women’s groups telling students to first run, if need be, fight. She then advises if a student must fight, ensure the attacker is no longer a threat, she leaves it at that. Most assume she means that the police have the attacker in custody. She is thought of as a very kind, sweet and caring young woman.
When she shares her history, she says she comes from a boring insurance background. The few that check up on her, research on the company name find a mid sized insurance company in downtown Seattle Washington. Listed phone numbers go to voice mail for returned calls, that do not happen. The few that go the extra mile if in Seattle do find a small office building with the Company name in front however the doors are typically locked.
Her transcripts have her graduating from University of Washington with a Business Major although inquiries result with various Professors mentioning they are not familiar with her name, photos do not result in recognition with the exception of the staff who will say they recognize anyone shown to them.
Melanie's hidden past:
Melanie's father was a Lt. Col with the US Army Special Operations Command. Her mother was a South Korean diplomat and linguistics specialist contracted with the Army. Melanie was taught unarmed combat and weapons training from the age she could first hold a handgun.
After graduating high school, a covert branch of the US Government recruited her in their newly forming Special Operations Division which was off the books. For two years she continued refining her skills in weapons, unarmed combat and espionage. At 20 she stared being tasked with gathering intel on threats to US and World interests. At 22 she started doing field work 'resolving' threats to US and World stability. She was considered icy as she would carry out assignments without a bat of the eye. This was ingrained into her early by her father "As a girl, any signs of weakness would earn you the ability by be a Barbie Doll and type reports for your career". She always internally cringed at the term 'resolve this matter' ... Resolve, such a sanitary term for kill someone.
At age 26 intel came down that an IED was being brought to a high population area in a developing nation to destabilize the region. Her own research determined that the terrorist group had spoon fed this information to a compromised agent, her gut told her off intercepts that the parliament building was the actual target. Her protests went unanswered since the potentially compromised agent was a long term ... man. She had experienced the Boys Club before, yet now it was a true case of life or death and the Boys were circling the wagon around their intel. Against her protests and better judgement, she followed her assigned orders to locate and resolve the threat. While staking out the market where the spoon fed attack was to take place, CNN breaking news reported a blast rocking the parliament building. The death toll was high and it made Melanie sick blaming herself for following the Boys orders and not following what her instinct told her.
There was an internal review, resignations and replacements followed, all in the shadows since after all, Special Services was just an Urban Legend found on conspiracy theory websites. During debriefs, Melanie was offered a place in the new directors structure however she declined feeling there was innocent blood on her hands. An eight year history was written for Melanie as she departed the world of secrecy and deception.
She was set up with a small shop and background disseminated throughout records departments around the country allowing her to start a new life. She has spent her last four years operating a low interest specialty gift shop. Her nights are often restless as the ghosts of her past occasionally haunt her dreams.
I finally got around to make a quick template! It's just basic things here
Name: Aksel Bjørge
Age: 26
Occupation: No standard one.
Occasionally presents himself as
a dog trainer.
Appearance:
- Black hair: rarely pays attention to it, so most of the time it's ruffled and everywhere - but thankfully not enough to make it look like he's having a hard time or something. On occasion, he actually combs it or even styles it.
- Playing along with the Scandinavian stereotype, he has icy blue eyes.
- If exposed enough to the sun, his freckles start to darken and show. They are scattered over the bridge of his nose, under his eyes and just a bit over his cheeks. They are quite visible against his rather pale skin. Though, as soon as fall and winter come over and less and less he is exposed to the sun, the freckles slowly disappear and it's like they never even were there.
- By now he came to only six piercings: an industrial, snug, and an upper lobe one on his right ear, while the left one has two helixes and an upper lobe one.
- he only has one tattoo. It's positioned between his Achilles and ankle bone. It reads "russ//" in black letters.
- He has no particular style when it comes to clothes. He will wear just about anything that is handed over to him, aside from the exceptions that he isn't even going to try fit himself into jeans or any other stiff pants. He prefers to wear trousers, you never know when will you need to run and climb. The colour of the clothing doesn't matter much at all. When it comes to footwear, he likes to put anything from sneakers and boots to heelies on.

Personality:
Aksel has a lot of positive traits like being effective, decisive and attentive, but the negative traits don't really balance it out. Things like being manipulative, apathetic and overconfident make the one tray of the brass scale heavier. Although it is like that, the lad comes across as a really nice person that everyone gets along with. He doesn't let his negative traits break through all that much, aside from confidence which spills out of him like a waterfall. He's rather charismatic and likes to come across as a good friend to people.
Although good with people, the lad isn't the best at emotions. He is quite apathetic and sometimes needs a good second to figure out what is one feeling. He is good with his own emotions, but they are usually short-lived. He lives through the one he needs at the moment, and then it passes over him. It's not something to dwell on long. Though, if the moment calls for it, he can put on an act of emotion even though it drains his energy.
He was brought up to think before he acts, and it is in his nature to plan things out before he does them so that they are perfect, so rest assured if he does something he was confident in his decision. If something doesn't turn out to be like he wanted it to, he merely will take a step back, assess what happened and take it as a learning experience. He is a quick learner and it sometimes is enough for him to see a certain thing or for it to be explained to him for him to be able to do it.
He has an amazing sense of orientation, being able to find his way home from places he hasn't been to. Give it time and he'll find his way back home. If it's a hopeless search because his home is now suddenly on another continent or similar, he will figure himself out and make sure he doesn't rot away on the streets. He's clever and resourceful and would work it out with himself.
Just had a thought bubble. The next writing for Melanie, I am going to bring in a security consultant entering the store and take notice of Aksel.
Of course he is there to solicit her to buy security equipment and services so he will act all puffy chested trying to impress Mel. He will also mention the overnight shooting at The Dugout Bar and play it off as a robbery attempt since the bar is six blocks from Melanie's shop.
Mel will already be aware of the bar opening a few months ago and was a drug dealer hangout. She considered the bar a shooting waiting to happen, yet she would put on the frightened girl persona for the sleazy security salesman.
You are welcome to write the security sales guy entering on your next post if you want. He will be wearing a loose fitting suit and over coat. Of course he will open his jacket to let his security badge clipped to his belt be seen. I might let the security guy have a shoulder holster too to more try and impress Melanie.

Just put up a quick one tonight, was a busy day and didn't want to leave you hanging. Feel free to control Kevin, I see him as a either ex cop that was fired for doing stupid things or a wanna be that couldn't make it on a department so runs around with his security badge trying to feel important. Think will have him with a one sided crush on Melanie. He will eventually die off. Might even be Melanie that offs him (unless Aksel or his guys do for his stupidity).
You can go ahead and go through Kevin pulling his gun and ordering everyone to stay calm.
Going to do the starting his plan to just get the money and jewels without hurting anyone wrestling on probably would at least having to kill the dog, and if kill the dog, better kill the owner too, and hate to kill his crush, but if Melanie doesn't come with him, reluctantly he will have to kill her too. Most likely if Aksel does not knife him, Mel would probably end up shooting him. Wonder if Kevin is going to live through the next few scenes.
If it comes to actually shooting the dog, if the dog attacks, it'll only be an injury and not death because I don't want the dog to die for now
When it comes to Aksel, he'll remain calm, because he doesn't find the situation that threatening. Though, if Kevin gets close to him or makes the mistake of turning his back, he will do something. He has enough experience where people had a gun in his face, so he isn't useless
If Kevin gets too close, he will either knock the gun out of his hands or wrestle it out for himself, but primarily attack with the blade he has
Otherwise, if Kevin is stupid enough to turn his back to him, then Aksel will attack him even more freely

Think it might be good that the two interact more. You could have a couple of your guys staking out the Moreno estate as a lone 'person' clad in black takes the estate out in minutes. Of course Moreno being the want to be, there are just a few people there. Melanie would also be disappointed in the lame security the wanna be had.
She would not need to be followed home, just followed to where she gets back to her midnight blue Lexus and takes off her black stocking mask. It the moonlight, she would be unmistakable. Could visit in the morning or just start checking her out more.
She will not be surprised or shy if he comes visiting again, after all, she was paying attention to the number of people that were there for 'the cute guy' so already surmises that he is organized, just has not looked into him.
