a few more and we'll have a game!
All right y'all. Today's the day. I'm leaving tomorrow, so today's me last day before I return in August. So, so long, farewell, and Slán.
Hey <3
Name: Lucian McIntyre
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: Caucasian (Scottish, Italian)
Age (18+): 43
Role: Pathologist, 15+years in his field. Specialized in avian diseases, but after alien bacteria in meteorites became a thing, decided space pathogens were way more interesting. Helped develop a disease that could survive in the vacuum of space, which earned him a number of accolades and "why would you do that though"s.
Appearance: 5'11", black hair somewhat of a mess beneath a worn Lakers cap. His eyes are a muted green that always seem to be turned up in a gentle smile. Mostly seen in a baby blue lab coat and grey slacks. Kind of concerning, since typical rules of PPE require your coat to stay IN the lab.
Personality: Impulsive, but loyal to a fault. He doesn't trust easily, but when he lets you in, he's yours. Very relaxed in general. Hard to annoy.
Background: Originally dropped out of highschool to start a band with some buddies. For about a year and a half, they did way too many drugs and got into and out of trouble together. When his younger sister got into highschool and started having the same ideas, he pulled a complete 180 -- went back to school. Got his GED. Went to a CC, got accepted into a prestigious university, and ultimately earned his Ph.D. in Experimental Pathology. Sadly, without a guitarist, the band more or less fell apart.
He did research for his university for a while, planning on teaching there, before getting snapped up by a pharmaceutical company where he was tasked with creating prediction models for quickly mutating diseases, like influenza. Less than a year in, he decided he hated his job and quit, moving over to a botanical company that wanted to use specially designed pathogens to target undesirable or invasive plant life. His career with this company was cut short when he married its CEO.... or rather, when they got divorced a year later after having a disagreement about allocation of funding.
That said, he easily found work with the American government, where he worked to analyze and neutralize potential bio-threats to the nation's safety. I'm afraid I can't say too much about that, though. Just know that's how he got into analyzing space bugs.
