He nodded his head and then went inside to do just as he was told. He got it done before the ambulance got there and went back to Sam. “You are good to come back in now.”
Fora frowned and shook her head. “Mom, I have no choice but to worry about him.” She said and opened her eyes to look around. “They still aren’t here yet.”
-
Sam nodded and stood up with a soft 'thank you' before heading inside to find Fora. He knocked on the bathroom door just as Fora's mother had cleaned Fora's face with a cloth, and cautiously stepped inside. Her mother looked at him with distrust, holding her daughter close.
"They'll be here soon, baby," she said as Sam knelt down with them and took Fora's hand for comfort.
-
Fora looked at the two, closing her eyes again as tears came to them. “Then where are they?” She asked and opened her eyes, tears falling from them. “This is the worst I’ve felt the whole time I’ve been sick.” In the distance the sounds of sirens could be heard, but by the time they had got there, Fora passed out from blood loss.
A few hours later, Fora slowly woke up, looking around to see she was in the hospital. She jerked awake and started to hyperventilate.
-
Sam was over in the corner, sitting in a chair with his legs pulled up. He had been lost in thought until she gasped and he quickly went over to her, reaching for her hands. "Fora. Fora, I'm here, you're okay. You're safe."
-
Fora looked at Sam with wide eyes and then hugged him as soon as he was close enough. “Where is my Mom? What did they do?” She asked him slowly. “Did she give me more blood?”
-
He nodded, hugging her back. "She did. They had to go home to get some rest. They're safe too."
-
Fora nodded her head and sniffled. “Can I leave the hospital?” She asked him softly.
-
"We should ask the doctor. If you're going to need transfusions every day... it might be best to stay."
-
Fora frowned and looked at him. “I’m not doing that. I have to take care of you everyday.” She told him softly.
-
He shook his head. "I'll figure it out with your dad. If you need to stay here, you can."
