"Pop quiz, hotshots!" Donald rebutted, readying a Poké Ball, "How does Earthquake affect a Pokémon using Dig? Metagross, show them and follow up with Magnet Rise!" He sent out his Metagross, which used their heavy weight to set off an earthquake all over the battlefield before using magnetism to rise off the ground. The earthquake was doubly potent against the Pokémon underground. Donald sent a mental signal to his Espeon to scan the Team Aqua grunts' minds in case they had other ulterior motives.

The Team Aqua Grunts Looked at Donald's reaction and without seeing what happened... Noticed that something wasn't right. But they had a trick under their sleeves and it was about to be used... They had their Sharpedo use Surf and Crawdaunt use dig before using Close Combat. Finishing it with a Battalion of a move such as Sludge wave... Seeing that it hit Donald's pokemon dead center. Poisoning it with precision.

But now the question was... Would it be enough or would Donald be the very trainer... who yet... STILL Besting them. Shutting them down... yet once more?

Only the Surf and the Close Combat had any effect on Donald's Metagross on account of Metagross being airborne through Magnet Rise and their Steel typing making them immune to Poison attacks and being poisoned. "Metagross, Mega-Evolve and use Sunny Day and Hammer Arm at Crawdaunt!" The sun grew heavy, evaporating any puddles left on the battlefield after the last round of attacks. The Close Combat left Crawdaunt's defenses with a harsh drop as Mega Metagross' eight arms started glowing white and the Iron Leg Pokémon started charging at Crawdaunt while winding up their arms for a strike.

It was a direct hit and Team Aqua not knowing to admit defeat... Tried to pull a fast one... however it came to backfire on them. It backfired big time as it blew up in their face and sent them flying off into the sky. Although... they did have a trap triggered. Which Surrounded Donald's pokemon and set to zap them with the element that they were weakest to the most.

Or were they trapped?

The others were waiting for Donald's return and as they waited...

Jeremy and Sandy started to get rather worried... They were looking to find out what was taking so long. It was beginning to get late out and there was said to be a storm coming. What were they to do now?

Would Donald be able to break out from the likely trap that was triggered by The two team Aqua Grunts? Was it gonna be curtains for him or was it gonna be an escape from danger?

Where were the trainers to go from their current location next? They we gonna need a whole lot of help. Fast.

Both Donald's Espeon and Metagross swiftly went to Donald's spot and threw up Protect shields to block Team Aqua's trap attacks. "Thanks," Donald said in gratitude, glad to still be in one piece.
"You're welcome, master," Donald's Espeon replied.
"I calculated they would try something like this," added Donald's Metagross, reverting back to their normal form.
"Let's go back to the others," Donald finished, "Espeon, let them know we're safe and on our way back."
"Will do," Espeon acknowledged before sending a telepathic message to Jeremy, Sandy and the others.

After recalling Metagross, Donald and Espeon started making their way back to where he left the others. Espeon knew Donald was mourning the loss of his phone.

It was an hour later when...

Jeremy: *Looking at the time and sighs* Donald should have been back by now.

Sandy: You're right. It's getting way way late. You don't think that something happened to him, Do you... Jeremy?

Jeremy: I don't know... I'd like to hope not. I really would like to hope not. However... it has been like at least 5 hours. Hours and i know that in all the battles we had to go through... All the Gym battles and encounters... None went longer than 5 hours. Not like this. *Calling out a couple pokemon* Simisear... Scyther... Come out.

Seconds later...

Jeremy: It's been a while since Donald's left to do battle against a couple of Grunts from Team Aqua. Scyther, You and Simisear fan out and scout around... Simisear, Swing through the trees and cover ground for any evidence of a ongoing battle. Scyther, Take to the skies... Use that Bug Sonar of yours to throw an echo out... see what you can find.

Simisear: *Nods* Got it, Passion Kiss. I'm on it.

Scyther: Consider it done.

The search was on and while they searched for Donald multiple things were spotted and it caught their attention as it was sure to lead them right to Donald.

Anistar: My Braviary's coming back. Something must have been spotted.

A Moment later...

Anistar: You guys... My Braviary's reported that as she was keeping watch over the battle that Donald was having against Team Aqua... She caught sight of a major plume of black smoke over just a ways... Possibly coming from Chicago and it's not good. I think that once we get there... if we do manage to reach Chicago... We're gonna have a real work cut out for us. We're gonna be facing a rather tough tough battle. Plus a huge clean-up.

Lisa: Seriously?

Randy: I got a feeling that the sinister hands of Team Magma is at the helm of that one.

Abigail: *Groans* I swear... If it's not Team Aqua... It's those clowns. What's it gonna take to get them to just buzz off and beat it?

Jessie: That's a good question. Although... we just don't seem to have a viable answer for that.

Marcie: Sure would be nice if we had though.

Abigail: Ditto.

Alice: We should let the old dogs just settle for now. We for now have to find that youngun' Tech dynamo... and then assess the situation with him and get all the details from him on the battle and then once we do... find a place to camp for the night and then come morning make way again closer to the next destination.

Macie: I agree. We can't just remain here. We've spent way too long here. We've got to get some ground behind us. And soon.

There was a lot to do and now with the report of there being large plumes of smoke coming from the direction of Chicago... They were gonna need a Official marching order and soon. Time was not on their side.

"Jeremy's Scyther and Simisear are looking for us," Donald's Espeon warned.
"Best to find a rendezvous point and let them find us there," Donald replied. He spotted the Millennium Bell and made his way over there. "Espeon, send them some telepathic signals of our location."
"You got it!" Espeon sent out telepathic images of the Millennium Bell to where she sensed Simisage was and Scyther received images of the bell and map images with an X marking Donald's spot. "If they're insightful, they'll find us in a matter of minutes. I've also been told by Metagross that all the phone shops are closed so you may have to pray that our entourage has spares." Donald muttered a curse as he and Espeon waited.

Reuben's Beheeyem perked up as he read some heavy psychic activity coming from the Millennium Bell at Grand Circus Park. With his green finger lights pulsating, Beheeyem informed the others, "Our technical whiz-kid is waiting by the Millennium Bell."
