They all went in for a group hug, even Mah La trumpeting happily and standing next to them. The world was hazy, but they were filled with the knowledge that they had done something good. They'd saved the world. Not many people could say the same. The hug didnt last as long as they would've liked, but when they pulled away, both Resham and Kaito had wide smiles on their faces. Then, Mae closed her tired eyes, and fell towards the floor.
Kaito managed to catch her, and looked at the exhausted child, as well as the tired elephant. "We should rest. Maybe not here, but somewhere safe." After saying that, Kaito paused. Safe. That had been such a foreign concept before, but now, the whole world would be safe from the undead and dark monsters that had plagued the land. They could probably rest anywhere they liked. Resham was quickly following Maes example, barely managing to climb onto his pet elephant before falling asleep sprawled across her back.
The way through the dry lands was much shorter now that they weren't fighting for their lives. Still, the last dregs of energy could only be stretched so far. Kaito looked at the water they had been brought across by the merchant, and smiled slightly. It hadn't been more than a day ago. Finally, Kaito allowed himself to rest. Who knew what the future would bring
