Oh, why... thank you.
Thank you very much, @Enigma.
I do have design envy for one of the girls who sits beside me in work, though. She designed such a kickass staircase for Google recently! :O
I might share an illegal image of it for you all to see.
(It’s that cool.)
-as aforementioned, Google doesn’t like photos of their buildings being posted... like anywhere-

@Enigma
It's fiiiiiire.
My friend from France, Pauline, designed these stairs for Google.
I guess Google is letting photos being taken of it because it's seen to the public and not inside the Googler's working area.

omg, that's bloody amazing! Such wonderful vibrant colors! I love how it snakes around like that! it's great how it catches the light! Suddenly I want a Tardis with this staircase in it! Is that like benches for lectures on either side? Very clever!

So I went out and bought pencils, and drew for the first time in like ten years.
I spent a little over an hour on this so far, using 3H and H pencils.
Going to move on to B shading to add some depth, probably this weekend when I have free time.
Gotta make that beard fucking glorious
Spoiler: California Mountain Man
Edit: eh, link won’t work ;(

OH !
IT WERKED !
CALIFORNIA MOUNTAIN MAN WITH BEARD THAT WILL BE GLORIOUS!
Soooo why I am calling him California Mountain Man:
It's because of a man who lived next to me when I was a kid in Oregon. His name is Bill (aka William Morris Harper III), and he always talked about how much he loved Yosemite (like to everyone), and about how he was going to go live there one day.
His daughter Emily would come to my house a lot, and I would go to hers. He had this giant beard and was really outdoorsy, and would read us stories about Alaskan bear cubs and whales and such - or take us on hikes in the nearby forest and we'd look at flora. Always really educational about nature.
And he reminded me of a mountain man.
(He also played a mean bagpipe... he'd play this song all the time in his backyard and I could hear it from inside my house. And Bill now lives in Yosemite after Emily grew up, actually looool.)
Also when I started this drawing I realised I forgot to buy a pencil eraser. So I had to improvise and tie up a rubber band. Worked a charm.
As said in the post above, I've only used H pencils so far. I need to do a lot more layering, and use B pencils to add depth and contrast.
I want to do his beaded necklace pretty detailed, sort of native american style. Then try to make his hat knitting pretty precise.
And refine the beard hairs and wrinkles lol.
