Came back a while ago but haven't posted much. Been slowly workin' on a new RP and a new post for it and I was curious about using my newfound knowledge of HTML within the actual RP / posts.
I've known from a long time ago that we have the almighty HTML button, but really all I've ever seen it for in my lifetime here is it being used to expose brackets for character sheets and the like.
However when I actually try using the tags and begin writing in them, it actually does show that it understands different elements inside of your HTML post.
That said, when I preview the page it doesn't seem to actually have any kind of effect. And then I notice the little guy down at the bottom of the screen, all cold and neglected: "HTML code is OFF". Maybe that prohibits with HTML code from working in some manner.
I know this is a feature that nobody uses (as far as I know, I am returning after YEARS so, *shrug*) but is there any information regarding HTML tags and actually using it to fabricate working code inside of it? I looked through threads but didn't have luck when I searched. If HTML code is turned off for a reason, may I inquire as to why? And perhaps, could we...turn it on? Perhaps temporarily just to see what it does?
Spoiler: Additional Example
An example that I can see HTML is actually being distinguished, hinting that functionally, we COULD actually use HTML code for RPs and such:
HTML Code:
<body><p>Whoa this is a test. Notice my tags turn up blue instead of this element content?</p><button>Wouldn't It Be Cool If Buttons Worked?</button></body>
EDIT: ...also possibly maybe it works in any case but I'm just doing it wrong? The actual HTML BBC codes might be tripping me up of how to get it to work right.
