While I must admit part of my lack of motivation is somewhat related to the whole ADF kerfuffle (I also admit to a lot of internalized angry ranting about it), I am still very much here for any collaborative efforts. And I fully understand not having the energy to continue the portion of the narrative being built involving Grace and Bridgette so no hard feelings should that come to pass.

Of course, now that I made the pitch, I’ll have to go and re-read myself. I believe a refresher on Red and Purple will be required with Stan’s next campaign post, for no particular reason whatsoever. I swear.

I’ll try and take you up on that – and try and have the skeletons, which I’ve more or less roughed out in my head, actually written down before work work’s its magic and knocks them out.

I doubt that I would reclaim the Legion as an active POV combatant, and at this point I expect any retroactive work would be tidying up their missing scenes from C1. The narrative spark for the Legion as a whole has well and truly gone out – but I’m more than content to have them remain a presence, and fighting just outside the camera lens, since they’ve already been factored into some future content.

I would want to activate a replacement Imperial Ground unit so I can at least have a piece of the action on some direct combat (I missed the boat on Patriot Ground) as something of a narrative palate cleanser, since most of my other work is heavily interconnected / dialogue intensive character scenes – and, well, I wouldn’t want to leave the Kriegans hanging as the only active Imperial PC regimental unit.

Azazeal of the Shadow Walkers has some sage, if coarse words of wisdom which seem appropriate.

The ADF happened, and there’s no reasonable way to undo it without driving ourselves even more insane, so we might as well continue to make practical edits which has already been done and make the narrative most of what we can out of the situation – mostly by emphasizing that this was a series of unfortunate events, enabled by the structural weak points in the Imperial system / the personalities involved / the circumstances of the moment, which ended tragically for everyone caught up in it.

There’s also the potential for references in scenes to come, too.

I have already envisioned how someone might openly speculate within Tierce’s court how the recurring instances of Adrantean attacks against the Holy Church (Coseflame, Reshia, Baraspine) might well be considered, from a certain perspective, as evidence that the Patriots have renounced the Emperor as well as the Imperium, and ponder about how this apparent change within their beliefs might well in turn change how the Imperium is prosecuting the war within the Nebula.

You might well think I have an exact scene in mind for that...but I couldn’t possibly comment.

I am content with that as well, and you can already expect quite a bit in post-production.

Aye, it’s essentially its AD’s show at Tranch with Captain Thane Stella Rosa on how to best handle the Imperial Navy - Elle’s not going to shoot at Strike or try and prevent their escape, and will only move on the Imperials to encourage their prompt withdrawal and ensure she’s nearby to recover any savior capsules to limit the loyalists the Patriots take as POWs. Shockingly, Elle doesn’t trust the Patriots…

That said, I’m hoping that I’ll be able to have the Imperialist arc play out live. My elephantine list of scenes that needs to be done (character building / establishing scenes – predominantly for Saph / Gerry / Stan / Crenshaw) are heavily concentrated in C1 and C2, and because reasons as we progress through their arcs become a lot more straightforward, and I should be able to wind back to Elle’s story.

Or, you know, try and be sensible and work on that when a break is needed from the other characters.

Ah, my mistake for not being clear enough at too damn early in the morning.

I absolutely want to continue on with everything we’ve previously discussed for Bridgette and Grace, and with the Legion on the periphery of the POV action, they’ll have ample opportunity for their paths to cross as already intended in Home Front scenes and the campaign interludes / aftermaths – and, best news (he said sarcastically) that means everyone’s favorite, Moustache, is still lurking about!

I’m also completely in the loosely discussed meeting of Zahir and Stan / perhaps the ladies at court, as well as the Mari and Doppelganger Viz arc (continuing the Arcade and Mari scene, too – although that can keep until we finish C2 on Skorgulian) if you’re game for continuing on with those as well.

Ammo, specialist weapons (including man-portable SAMs) and fortification supplies such as diggers, mines, camo-nets and razor wire can be made available, depending on how obvious you want your presence to be. The 88s and the Teph Min aren’t exactly regular line units, but HQ has seen them fight now, and they know the importance of this bridge.

You would have a couple of days to prepare the ground while the imperial forces regroup.
Are the Damned receiving any specific instructions for where they are meant to be reserves to (or where they are meant to respond first to as a priority) or are we meant to be solely backing up Endurance?

I think the Damneds combat readiness at the moment is probably hot garbage. Garrisoning a planet about 15 degrees celsius hotter than you like, and the somewhat . . . laissez-faire approach to discipline, will probably mean the unit would have brushed of the warnings about the scouting runs and be basically caught with their trousers down when the attack hits.

If you could volley any C2 / C2 aftermath notes for Retaliator my way, I can take account when writing the epilogue. I imagine there will be some sharp contrast between the celebrations on Impiger and the absolute mess that Shepherd is in.

Solely backing up Endurance. Putting them in reserve was kind of a placeholder so that they could be Schrödinger's regiment when you got back with more specific instructions for their placement. I will say the idea of them chilling (figuratively, perhaps not literally) in the back line like "Sod everything, let the Imps come and beg us to shoot at them for once" is both amusing and fitting though.

    @dakkagor;
I think you overlooked the fact that we're in a more temporal climate. Not like the desert we got out of.

My guys come from a sub-arctic planet. As far as they are concerned this is still unreasonably hot and humid.

Still having the relief tankers? Any of them at least? Otherwise I'll have some Cadian's shuffled around from other losses between the campaigns.

Yeah, Adrantean tankies to the Cadian tanks is absolutely still on – and I’d think it stands to reason that any of the Legion with a background in artillery would also be offered the opportunity to transfer over to the 1010th Field Army, as undoubtedly there are some casualties to replace in arty units as well.

In no way is that an effort by Grace to escape as many of the Adrantean loyalists as she can from being underneath Moustache’s iron fist (he blatantly lied) as she’s simply that dutiful and efficiency minded – although whether that also allows the Legion tank riders (and a certain Preacher Dieter) to remain with Antheia’s tankies, since I’m standing down the Legion as a POV, that’d firmly be an Az decision.

In regards to the Legion’s replacement, I’m thinking either Scions or Sisters (hooray for the Orphan Brigade!) or I might just have to inflict an Ogryn auxilia on everyone.
