The boy looked at Madam. "He didn't tell us!" He said quickly. "If i knew I would go and kill him myself." He told her honestly, watching as his fellow mates frowned.
Tulay shook her head. "Only from you." She whispered and looked up into Emry's eyes. "I am so sorry."
She watched him for a moment. "You are so quick to deflect? Do you not serve your Dark Lord honestly?"
He looked at her, clearly relieved. "...Then why did you give me that look?"
He looked at her and bit his lip. “I didn’t want this life. He tricked me. He tricked all of us.” He said and wiped his eyes. “But no one believes me.”
Tulay looked away. “I still don’t trust her.” She whispered to him softly.
"It would seem he didn't trick you very well, then," she mused and kept watching him. "How did he trick you?"
Emrys frowned. "Why? She's a normal human, what else is there not to trust?"
The boy glanced at her and bit his lip. “I thought I would get freedom.” He whispered and looked down as sad tears rolled down his face. “But look at us. We are not free.”
Tulay frowned as well. “You weren’t in here when she was asking me questions.” She reminded him. “She wasn’t letting up.” She started to pace a little. “She’s human, but that doesn’t mean we can trust her.”
"You are not free because I have captured you," The Madam remarked.
Emrys sighed and ran his hands through his hair. "Tulay, you're being paranoid. She's probably just worried."
The boy looked at her and frowned. “No, you don’t understand. We have to be under his command all the time.” He said and wiped his eyes.
Tulay shook her head and made her way to the shed. “I’m not being paranoid.” She muttered and slammed the door shut.
The Madam nodded slowly, and then softly muttered her truth spell and cast it on the boy. If he was trying to deceive her, she wasn't about to let him. "...So you'd be happy to help overthrow him?"
Emrys pinched the bridge of his nose. He took a moment to collect himself before following her into the shed. "Tule, I'm sorry, but... that's my mom. How would you feel if I suddenly insisted you couldn't trust Volcan? Just... tell me how to prove to you that she's not plotting against you or whatever."
The boy looked over at her. He felt the spell. “You don’t have to put this stupid spell on me! I’m telling the truth!” He snapped at her laid down on the ground. “I mean I see why you are using it, I wouldn’t trust me either.”
Tulay sniffled and looked at him. “I would BELIEVE YOU!” She told him loudly and wiped her eyes. “Our lives are a complete danger and if you said I shouldn’t trust him, I’d keep my distance to an extent.” She told him honestly. “You just don’t have to tell your parents everything that ever happens to you! Volcan doesn’t even know some stuff I’ve gone through, like at the bar.”
The Madam watched him closely. "...Answer the question, boy."
Emrys looked away. "...That's different. He's your little brother, and your kid in a way. My mom has much more of a right to know, especially that I'm a murderer," he said, choking on that last word.
