Once Faye was in the elevator and squished among others she took the opportunity to lean against Blake and close her eyes. She felt sick and was just straight up exhausted too, not a great combo. Her forehead rested against his chest and although her main reason to be this way was because of how awful she felt but there was also the perk of just being nice and snug with Blake. It felt like they were apart way too often. Sixteen years ago the two were practically inseparable, they were always together and she missed those days dearly. And she missed the years in Hawaii and just so much of their past.

His beeper was going crazy but it wasn't like Colton could just snap his fingers and magically appear in the hospital. Though that would be awesome, he had to admit.
He had to wait for the elevator just like everyone else. Still, he was just as anxious as he always was waiting for the elevator. If he could, he would live in the hospital so that whenever his beeper went off he would be right there with a patient that needed him. But the only times he could go into the hospital after he went home at night was when he was called down by Casey for an emergency or one of the other overseers. Sometimes Alec had some farmer that accidentally cut off an arm or something- though Colton had only seen someone cut off one of their own limbs a few times, it was actually pretty common in the dangerous farms. Or someone in the apartments was having a seizure or had done something dumb to hurt themselves.
He was already in his scrubs and was now just waiting outside the elevator doors with a tapping, nervous beat in his foot.
The last stop before they went to the business section came finally and Spring stepped out of the elevator with almost a stumble. Casey stepped out behind her and stood off to the side of the elevator in order to let people in.
Before his daughter could stumble any further, Colton caught her and found himself breaking into a grin. "Was it a race to get out?"
Spring laughed quietly and straightened herself up, "Um... well, sort of." She didn't want to say that Casey would have shoved her out if she had been too slow. He was such a jerk. Honestly, she really did hope he got food poisoning today.
Their exchange was short, only because it had to be. Both would rather have preferred it would have been longer. But they would be seeing each other later in the day anyways. For now, Colton stepped into the elevator like the other people and just prayed that this ride would go fast.
He tossed a look back towards Blake and Faye and rose his eyebrows, but he didn't dare crack the joke boiling inside of his head. It was only because his daughter was just outside the elevator that he was keeping it to himself.
As if having read his mind, Blake broke into a grin and wrapped his arms tighter around Faye. "You're a real creep."
"Me?" Colton looked away with an oblivious expression on his face, "No, sir. I am American."

A small child came racing over towards the group of people exiting the elevator, "Grandpa Colton! Auntie Spring! Auntie Faye! Uncle Blake! Logan! Hi!" he stopped short noticing Casey and pointed, "IT'S A MONSTER!"
"Danny, don't point. It's not polite." Daniel dropped his hand as another person came running after him, panting, "My god! How the heck does Zakai deal with you?"
It was Niel, rather than the child's father. Zakai had left earlier to get to the hospital to deal with something that had to do with deals and stuff, thus Danny was left to his Uncle Niel, who wasn't really his uncle, and again, the boy had found a way to escape the daycare center to come and greet everyone here. He'd been doing it forever, and still no one knew how!
Niel swiped the kid up from the ground and nodded to everyone. This wasn't his family, so he didn't feel the need to freak out like the squirming child in his arms, but it was his best friend's, so he figured he should greet them, "Morning."

Spring's eyes brightened when she heard the exclamations of a child and saw one running over. For a moment she was startled by Niel plucking the boy up, but then she relaxed after recognizing him. For a little while she had grown up watching her dad harass him, but that had seemed to stop when Zakai and Niel actually became closer.
Colton passed by the two, briefly laying a hand on top of Daniel's head. He would daddle around and start messing with the little boy like throwing him around or tease Niel about being too slow for the boy, but his beeper was going crazy which meant he had to get to the hospital. Most mornings were like that for him. It was practically a race to get to the hospital for him.
He didn't spend more than a few seconds near the elevator and when he lifted his hand from Daniel's head, he was racing away from the elevator in a full sprint to get to the hospital.
Being a coach, Blake could actually laze around for a little while. There weren't a lot of people he liked to talk to or even stop to say hi to. Casey was there though which meant he would be watching everyone and make sure they didn't loiter around but got to work instead.
"I wonder how nights would go putting you to bed." Blake teased little Danny, "I bet you don't stay in bed for long, do you?"
Casey rose his eyes up when he was pointed out. A sneer crossed his face. But Spring's presence stopped him from snapping at anyone. As the apartment overseer she had to make sure even the other overseers didn't start yelling at people like this. If he did yell or say something nasty, especially to a child or her family, Spring might do something with his emotions and he absolutely hated it when she did that.
So instead he turned his eyes away again, biting his tongue to keep from saying anything.

Faye pecked Blake then top of Logan's head quickly and smiled at Daniel before jogging after to Colton. Of course she had forgotten a pair of scrubs for today too so she'd have to change when as got there. From her back pocket her beeper went off and Faye pulled it up to look at it as she continue to jog past others. Finally as arrived and headed to the girls changing/bath room and headed to her own locker which ha a fresh pair of scrubs she had forgotten the night before. Faye wasted no time changing and heading out onto the floor.

Colton clocked in as per required of him before actually getting to the emergency room. He had grabbed a stethoscope from his locker and a flashlight too. Everything else that he would need would be in the emergency room.
He entered into the section and grabbed the first chart from his slot. He would actually look at it after going to the areas designated on his beeper. The emergencies were always first and then came the trauma patients.
He found himself already craving coffee but he didn't have time to get any. Maybe if he asked a PA or nurse nicely.

Danny tried to latch on to Colton's arm, but Niel quickly stopped him, knowing that the man was most likely busy. Daniel almost whined in protest, but then he heard Blake's statement on putting him to bed at night and rose a finger to his lips.
"Shhh," he hushed, "Daddy doesn't know."
He'd used to just do whatever he wanted.. or try to, but when he learned that Zakai wouldn't allow him to stay up all night, he knew he had to be sneaky! Just like with the daycare center where he apparently wasn't supposed to leave. By this point, he'd squirmed so much that he was upside down, and even though it was improper to hold a child like that, Niel just let him hang there. Even if he put him back the right way again, it would only be a matter of seconds before Danny got himself back.
"Daddy's gonna know if you're not a good boy."
That got the child's attention, and he let himself go limp.
"Thank you," Niel watched Faye rush off and Danny waved, then the man turned away, "Alright then, back to the-" "Wait!"
Danny yanked away, causing Niel to panic as the child fell headfirst towards the ground, but the little boy put his hands out and ended up in a crouching position rather than one where he was lying in tears and squeals. He ran over to Spring and hid behind her, "I don't wanna go! Auntie, don't let him make me go!"

Blake laughed but he had to slowly come to an awkward stop when Casey shot a look towards him that was just begging the question of "why are you still standing there?" Well, the answer was simple: Danny had been amusing him. But now he had to go with his son to the school.
"Okay, Logan." He said at last and put a hand on the boy's back, "Let's head to school. Don't want to be late for class, do you?"
Spring was shocked when she realized that the boy was upside down. How could he have so much energy?! And for being her brother's kid too! Zakai didn't ever seem to be as energetic as that. He was... awkward. That was the best way she could phrase it. The boy must have gotten so much energy from his mother, was all that Spring could assume. Or maybe Zakai was a lot more energetic than he was letting on.
No fair, she inwardly thought, if he's secretly hyper in any dimension, I wanna know!
But she was caught out of those thoughts once the boy began to shout in protest of going back. She looked behind her at Danny and then to Niel. At first she opened her mouth to apologize, but then she realized she didn't know what she would apologizing for so she closed her mouth again.
Turning slowly around, Spring picked the little boy up into her arms and hugged him tightly the way she would a cat (if her dad would have ever let her have a cat, which he never had).
"Maybe we could go hunt down your daddy and pester him?" Spring suggested to the little boy. Zakai maybe would be irritated at that idea, but she thought it would be funny. She had the annoying trait of finding tormenting others to be funny. But in a good tormenting way. Not like physical torture, but like... teasing them and irritating them. She had that trait since she was practically born and she hadn't given it up. Their reactions were... well, to say the least they were amusing.

"Bye Blake," called Danny from behind Spring, then he looked up when she suggested they find his dad, "Yeah! Daddy will be so happy!"
"I really doubt that..." Niel said, staring at the two of them. Honestly, what did Spring think she was suggesting? Zakai was busy! He had work! He owned an entire hospital for Heaven's sake!
"Please Uncle Niel? I'll be very careful not to get in Daddy's way," the little boy made puppy dog eyes at the man.
That didn't work at all, and Danny would probably try, but he'd also probably fail miserably. The right answer was probably 'no' but...
He looked at Spring, "If you let him out of your sight for one second and he's gone, then it's your problem. I had nothing to do with it."
Danny smiled, as he knew what that answer meant, "Yay! Thank you Uncle Niel! I love you!"
Niel looked at him, "And you, if you do get into trouble and Spring can't find you, then you're in big trouble. This also means you can't leave the daycare center for the rest of the week." Like that'll ever happen...
"I'll try!" the child promised.
Niel sighed. He knew this was the wrong thing to do, but he needed to get back to the daycare center and Zakai wouldn't mind it if Spring watched his kid for a while, "He's your problem now. If you get tired of him, you know where to find me," he turned away, looking back over his shoulder for a moment, "Please don't torment Zakai too much," and with that, he headed off.

Faye slung her own stethoscope over her neck and picked up the two cups of coffee she had been preparing. Faye quickened her pace a little bit and caught up to Colton who was clearly in a rush. "Lookin' a little sleepy." Faye commented with a small smile before offering the cup to him.
