So, chances are, the few that you did manages to get were dumb enough to be seen, not smart enough to run away, and not strong enough to give you a bigger whooping than the average man.
And on that, there are many different type of 'people'
I would think it's a given that fae are like any other person. And when it comes to people, there are probably 3 types of fae. The ones that like humans, the one's that don't, and the ones who'd rather see them wiped off the earth.
Just because they are one or the other, doesn't necessarily make them good or bad.
A fae cpuld "like humans" and still be evil. Also, like is very loosely used. Like could be companionable, or like could be more along the lines of "I find you amusing" or "they are great tools."
And as of how human society can be weird and cplex sometimes, fae society would also be seen as weird and complex.
A good fae and an evil are just as likely to work towards the same goal together while fighting against each other on other matters as not.
I might as well put down some other fae stuff here:
Many types of fae. Some of which I'd allow to be the standard fantasy races like elves, dwarves, gnomes, and halflings.
Elves are kinda the standard, long living, beautiful beings you'd normally think of.
Dwarves are still craftsmen, and can either surprise blacksmiths with gifts, or replace fine work with shoddy work for the heck of it.
Gnomes are crafty in other ways, and sometimes works with the dwarves to make stuff. (Gonna say that in game lore that gnomes and dwarves made the first crossbows and guns, and gifted some to human craftsmen to replicate. These craftsmen would have just found these on their workbenches.)
Halflings sometimes disguise themselves as homeless children. Either to cause mischief, or test the kindness of humans.
There are many more, like selkies who are practically humans capable of turning into seals.
And another gruesome vengeful ocean spirit that is a horse with a human torso stuck on it's back with really long arms.
So far, it's only really been seen on the coast, is solitary, hates salt water, and will kill you.
And more
