The boy looked back and forth before heading for the door trying to sneak out of the gymnasium.

So can I assume Jesse won't be around to see Zahra's placement?

I can have him struggle a bit. Maybe he sees her from the door?

Perhaps. Since Tau is still at the door at the moment, maybe Jesse might try to confront him and ask why he helped out during Jesse's Power Placement, and that would keep Jesse in the area long enough to see Zahra's placement?

Right now, Jesse is too shellshocked to have a confrontation. He knows his father HATES the Nassars’, and so he would probably try to steer clear of Tau while he tries to piece together some sort of ulterior motive for Tau to help. Expect it to be brought up when Zahra sees him again though. I think I will have him struggle to get through the crowd and maybe when he looks back he sees Zahra demonstrating her power. They could catch each other’s eyes for a moment before she starts or something like that. What do you think?
