"You scream and fight back." He said. "most people there will help. There's just a few bad men who work there."

She nodded, looking down. "...I'm scared," she said softly. "Not just of going to that place. Definitely also of going to that place, but also just... in general."
He squeezed her hand. "I know. It's harder when you don't even remember how you got someplace." He then stroked some of her hair out of her face and tucked it behind her ear. "But I'll be there for you. I'll pop in and talk to you every chance I get."

She looked at him as he touched her hair, and unwittingly blushed a little. He had said they weren't anything more than beginning friends, but, unless she had also forgotten social rules and norms, it seemed as if they were. At least she felt like she would like to be. He sure was a special kind of handsome, and he seemed so caring it warmed her heart.
As he reassured her, she nodded and squeezed his hand back. "Thank you... I appreciate that."
As Maeva blushed, he did too and pulled his hand away from her face. He was forgetting himself. This Maeva didn't know him. Technically, the old Maeva and him had barely been friends thanks to Becky always getting in the way. That said... this new Maeva didn't seem to mind the contact... but he wouldn't push it. He never would. He didn't want to ruin their blossoming friendship (again). Then she squeezed his hand back and he smiled a bit shyly.

Roger shook his head. "None that I know of but that doesn't mean that you don't have a family." He remembered the article he had seen about her and it was chilling. Becky might have made her kill her family but he wasn't sure.
