Announcement:
I am planning a day in about two weeks where we all gather to RP here and there throughout the day. Or at least, a few of us. Which day of the week would each of you be available in two weeks (the second week of March)? I can adjust my schedule accordingly, but I work on the weekend afternoons and evenings.

"Come here, little alley kitten! I've got a secret for ya! You've heard the rumors about the floating city, eh? WE'LL I'VE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN BIONIC EYES!"
Enter a Steampunk city, packed with humans, cyborgs and robots (Clanks), furries, and a mix of anything in between!
--
Spoiler: RULES
This RP includes humans, bionics/androids, animals, furries, and any combination of such.
Spoiler: PLAYABLE RACES
This RP includes humans, robot-people(called Clanks), animals, furries, and any combination of such. Example: You could play as just a human with a pet, or you can play as a half-human half-animal or you can play as whatever you think of.
Just no sentient objects.
Your character can also be considered a "Majick" of sorts, which means you can choose one small perk that allows your character to have a spark of unexplained magic. For example, A dog anthro can create sparks by snapping his paw beans together, which is useful when lighting candles or cigars! Or a Frog Bartender can mix magical elements into the drink to bring on interesting effects, like glowing eyes or something.
Spoiler: SETTING
This is set in a small and packed city on the side of a mountain slope that leads into a valley with a small lake.
Flying above the city is one of the "Sky Cities" called "The Floating City." This sky city is exactly that; it is a city in the sky that is being held suspended by industrial futuristic technology. The Floating City has castles, mansions, common areas with trees and wildlife, libraries, bars, theatres and high-class buildings of business or leisure.
The city on the mountainside is considered the Ground (because it is not a sky city). The Ground is divided into three parts: Upper Ground, Middle Ground, and Lower Ground.
The Upper is physically at the topmost part of the mountainside. It has nice-looking mansions and safe parks for kids and nice places to enjoy a night out.
The Middle is physically lower on the mountainside, toward the valley. It has small houses, thin sidewalks, and lots of factories and workplaces.
The Lower is in the valley, below the Middle. The dirt and garbage from the Middle and Upper sections have rolled down and collected in the Lower valley's sewers, alleys, and dark passageways. At the very bottom of the Lower is a tunnelway that is hidden behind smelly trash piles, but it leads to an underground city called the Underworld.
The Underworld--which is part of the Lower--is much like a sky city but instead, it's under the ground, it is scummy, gross, full of diseases, and extremely unpleasant. Nobody in their right mind would even go near the tunnels that lead to the Underworld, so people think the Underworld is just a myth.

Spoiler: THE CLASSES
Spoiler: Higher Order
Higher Order is the class living in The Floating City. They're very prim and stupidly wealthy. They never touch the Ground. Their complicated monarchy governmental system either convinces others that nobody but mindless creatures roam the earth or that those who do roam the earth are to be controlled and uneducated. In rare occasion, they might recruit a "Spark," from the Ground, which is someone with talent (be it scientific, educational, or majickal talent). They often have "Clanks," which are robot-like people work for them as caretakers, bartenders, servers, etc.
Spoiler: Upper Class
The Upper Class lives in the Upper section of the Ground. This is the wealthiest group of the earth-walkers (those who live on the Ground). They have nice and lavish mansions and have access to the limited Ground news, but they're easily controlled by the Higher Order (subliminally).
Spoiler: Middle ClassThe Middle Class lives in the Middle section of the Ground. This class isn't as wealthy as the Upper Class, and they are often cleaning their surroundings from the Upper Class's waste. They are mostly mindless laborers who don't have access to education, but they enjoy their drinks and cigarettes. This class has a lot of Clanks, which are robots or robo-people who typically work in the factories.
Spoiler: Lower Class (What the Higher Order calls "Ground Meat")The Lower Class lives in the Lower section of the Ground. This is the poorest class, living under bridges, around dark corners, in sketchy alleyways, and under the ground. They typically hide in the "Underworld" but will occasionally come to the surface to pick fights or pockets. They have learned to live with the scum and trash that comes from the classes above them.

History: It takes a lot to become a high officer of the Protection Forces. Though most days he knows he's protecting, he has been through some times where he's had to...make bloody choices. He has run-ins with Rue the cop when he takes strolls in the Upper Class neighborhoods while daydreaming on his days off.
Kin: his parents ran off somewhere one day and said they'll stop by to visit but that's probably just their excuse for leaving Sable with the uncle since he was the runt of their pack.
History: He's lived on the Ground his whole life, he used to live in the Lower Class with the orphans until his uncle picked him up kindly but said he had to get a crap ton of jobs to make up for it and pay all his uncle's bills considering the uncle can't work anymore. Slowly, he's been saving his money, which has been very stressful, but he has hope that he can find a mate or at least a robo-friend to move in with him in a nice house at the top of the mountain in the Upper Class. Weaknesses: Antisocial AF
Strengths: Independent, focused, and determined. One-track mind kinda guy.

Spoiler: Sukone's
Name: Sukone Amaioto
Race/Breed: Mechanical Hybrid Kangaroo
Gender Identity: Cisgender Male
Class: UpperClass
Age: 17
Appearance: A well built hybrid (fox + wolf + kangaroo ) that has a strong and slightly muscular build. Although their appearance from the image below is different , the outfit I am describing is going to be the one he wears in this series:
- He wears a black crop top alongside a large imperial officer jacket resting over his shoulders. The jacket has cogwheels built into the shoulder padded area that spin whenever body heat is sensed.
- Alongside that, as a military influenced individual , he hides his identity when on the battlefield with a gas mask. The gasmask has steam pipes running near the exhalation valve so that whenever a deep huff is let out, steam comes out of the other end. He wears heavy black pants that have two thick-belts wrapping around the waist area . . . two other cogwheels embedded into the thigh part. The pants have tan leather straps that wrap around the ankle to the upper leg part . . . little hoops attached to the connecting parts.
- He also has a mechanical arm that has a tint of gold, as well as a pure tungsten and iron mechanical build.
Sexuality: Bisexual
Occupation/skills: A Military Officer as well as a Inventor
Personality: Bubbly, Calm, and Flirtatious.
Ties: He is related to a royal family (Amaioto) from South Korea . . . being the 5th generation of the family.
Kin: His family, The Amaioto’s ( Amaioto meaning Sweet Sound) is a very wealthy family that gives back to the public and holds a strong kingdom back in their homeland. Though, with recent conflicts, many of their children have been stationed in all parts of the world to build an even greater reputation for themselves … offering help to their allies in anyway. Their family really has no enemies in particular , but have had a rough history with cultures and families in Britain, Poland, and some parts of Japan.
History: CLASSIFIED FOR NOW
Weaknesses: If he uses his mechanical arm too much . . . it will overheat and render useless. He is also very poor with guns (unless they are his own creation.)
Strengths: He is quite good with a sword … having great swordsmanship to the likeness of a samurai.
Magick: Reality Distortion ( Not really skilled with this yet . . . growth is expected. )
Pets: A large Black Mamba Snake
Other: N/A
Spoiler: Enigma's
Name: Luna "Nineteen" Magdalene
Race/Breed: Lapine Antro (rabbit furry)
Gender Identity: Female Eunuch
Class: Lower class
Age: 21
Appearance: This lonely girl has round eyes the color of charcoal. Her silky, curly, china-white hair is very short and is worn in a practical style. She is very short and has a slender build. Her fur is gray with a china-white belly. She has hollow cheeks and thin lips. Her wardrobe is severely plain and practical. Wears corrective glasses.
Sexuality: asexual
Occupation/skills: Maid
Personality: Reserved.
Ties: Wary of law enforcement and the upper class members of the club.
Kin: No known kin, was raised in a Magdalene orphanage.
History: "Rescued" from a groundling burrow just a few weeks old and placed in a Magdalene orphanage, who saw it as their purpose to bring morality and purpose to their wards with strict discipline and a useful education. In school, however, Luna proved to be a bright student, which didn't sit well with the middle-class students resenting this 'dumb bunny' who thought she was smarter than they were, and they would 'put her in her place' by bullying her. When she would try to underperform in class, her monitor would discipline her. As a lot of bullying took place in the school cafeteria, she'd skip lunch and hide out in the school library.
Luna, thanks to the scant diet at the Magdalene orphanage and skipped school lunches, developed later than the middle-class girls in her class, who'd been filling the boys' heads with stories about 'rabbit sexuality'. When they began to show interest in her, her monitor noted it as 'immoral flirtation'. During her next medical checkup at the Magdalene clinic, Luna was spayed.
Upon graduation from high school, she received a burlap sack filled with her few things, a modest amount of cash, and a referral to an employment agency. They helped her obtain a placement with a Gentlemen's club in the city as a maid, which comes with a small narrow room on the staff floor.
She's interested in obtaining another job as a secretary, and has purchased a typewriter, supplies, and a typewriting manual which was wrapped in plain paper so as to not draw attention to itself when she left the book shop.
Weaknesses: Nearsighted, needs to wear corrective lenses. Low physical strength.
Strengths: Keen intelligence, high pain threshold.
Magick: Hide reflex - if she can slip herself into cover behind a door or under a table, she can temporary "vanish" as long as she remains perfectly still.
Pets: Not allowed.

Spoiler: Enigma's
Name: John Magnus Dovington
Race/Breed: Human
Gender Identity: Male
Age: 29
Class: Upper class
Occupation/skills: Gentleman Tinkerer.
Appearance: This man makes you think of a clockwork mechanism. He has droopy beige eyes. His luxurious, straight, brown hair is worn in a simple, precise style. He's got an elegant moustache. He is tall and has a graceful build. His skin is tanned. He has a large mouth. His wardrobe is professional and elegant.
Sexuality: Asexual
Personality: Warm, uses wit to distract from his injuries
Ties: various family connections, his old nanny, various household servants, school ties with Chatterwick Academy, Army ties with the West Yorkshire Regiment, Second Battalion. Members of the Society of Odd Fellows. Dr. Hart, former army surgeon, maintains a practice in Chelsea.
Kin: The Dovington family, various aunts, uncles, cousins, and a surviving grandmother. And his nanny, Mrs. Nogg.
History: Raised by his nanny in the Garden Cottage on the Dovington Estate. His earliest memories is seeing a man and woman on horseback riding over and looking down at him curiously, saying how large he was growing and how they should look in on him more often before riding off. He turned to his nanny and asked, "Who was that?"
"Why, they're your parents, my sweet," Mrs. Nogg replied.
Tutored at home until the age of ten by Mr. Toliver, a very exacting and unpleasant man who taught him how to read, write, do sums, genealogy, geography, history, Latin, French, and German. Tuesdays and Thursdays were his piano lessons with Mrs. Carver - with practice every other day. Mr. Brown, the groom, taught him how to ride. He'd also sneak out to the garage at times pestering the driver about the family car, especially the engine.
At age 10, he was sent off to Chatterwick Academy for young gentlemen. Besides the usual subjects, there was drawing, fencing, boxing, economics, finance, map reading and orientation, military drills, artillery and small arms practice. John turned out to be a fine shot with pistols and rifles, as well as an above-average fencer.
After the Academy, instead of venturing immediately into the world of business, he received a commission in the army, who were looking for sharpshooters to train up as snipers. He was paired with a spotter, Corporal Abel Parlow, infamous around the West Riding county as a poacher preying on the lands around various estates. The two got on very well, performing several assignments and receiving a small collections of scars and medals. Unfortunately, they got caught in no-man's land during a barrage. Abel fell on top of John, taking the brunt of the explosion. The corporal was shipped back and died days later in a military hospital from his injuries.
John was also sent home, having lost his right leg above the knee, broke his right arm, fractured three ribs, and genital injuries from some shrapnel, making him incapable of siring an heir. However, oddly enough, he finally discovered his unique talent. He had picked up some clippers to trim his nails, realized with his right arm in a cast that he wasn't going to trim anything and leaned over with his left hand to put the clippers on the bedside table when they fell - and he caught them with an invisible right hand. Its reach was just like his own arm, with fingers and a thumb. He discovered it could go through the bedside table, allowing him to move things inside.
Attempts to conjure up an invisible leg, however, left him sprawled on the floor, gasping with the air knocked out of his lungs until orderlies could get him back in his bed.
Robert, John's younger brother, became the new heir of the family. He began walking around with this massive cocky grin on his face, as if he was already the lord of the manor. Depressed by his lost of manhood, and his brothers insufferable manners, he decided to make his way to the city, seeking out something better than a pair of crutches or a wheel chair. However, most of the would-be prosthetics being turned out by carpenters and blacksmiths were crude and painful.
But in his search, he came across The Society of the Odd Fellows, a collection of tinkerers and experimenters, and was admitted to their ranks, rising to his current level of journeyman. He shared with them some of his own skills, and they in turned shared their skills and insights, along with a workbench and access to an impressive collection of tools.
When he's not working on his own leg, he helps others who need prosthetics. Currently a resident at the Prometheus Society. A unique feature of his room is he still has and uses his campaign furniture.
Weaknesses: Missing right leg, genital injuries, unsuitable prospect for marriage.
Strengths: Still able to use the family credit, military reputation
Magick: An extra invisible right arm.
Pets: None at present
Other: Possibly someone in the city that Nell Parks could see for adjustments or an improved prosthetic, should the family that employs her brings her up? Possibly a referral from Dr. Hart?

Spoiler: Arcus'Name: Trak
Race/Breed: Cat
Gender Identity: Male
Age: 4 years old
Class: n/a?
Occupation/skills: traveling informant
Appearance: A tuxedo cat with a flopped ear from cartlidge damageI plan on drawing him, but until I can have a pic
Sexuality: straight
Personality: Comes off as judging, but is just cautious
Ties: Poppy (his mother), Cloud (His younger brother), Snowflake (His older sister), Fluffy (younger Older brother), Surge (Older older brother)
Kin: His father is unknown to him, always assumed him to be a normal Alleycat. His mother however was a purebred cat that belonged to one of the Higher Order. Some of his siblings were pure white and looked like his mother. However, he was black and white, so none of the Higher Order wanted him. When he was old enough to be on his own, the family that owned his mother abandoned him
History: He was born to a pet of the Higher order, the siblings that looked like his mother were adopted by other high ranking families. While he got abandoned, when he tried to return to his mother and the loving family he thought he knew. The family not only rejected him, but chased him off. The family made it clear that they didn't want him, but he didn't want to be alone. So would sneak to see not only his mother, but all his siblings. Staying as long as he could without getting caught. One day while he was out on the street, he was snatched up by a scientist.
At first he thought that, he had found a family of his own. The scientist however, preformed many painful experiments on him. The scientist even found a way to force magick into him, it gave him the ability to actually understand the very human who was causing him unending pain and suffering. He begged for the man to stop, but instead it only seemed to excite the man. So excited that he left the weak cat, still on the table when he left. Even so, with how weak he was, he managed to get out of the window and get away. It took him a long time to fully recover, but he had escaped to the ground to hide from the man.
That is not where the story ends though, rumor started spreading on the ground and in the underground about a talking cat that seemingly disappeared into the shadows, rumors are always so exaggerated, that will give you information in trade of food or other information. So somehow, Trak found his way into the informant business not for one, but for all areas around the floating city. After all, he still sneaks back up to the Higher order and sees his family from time to time.
Weaknesses: doesn't have any more strength than a normal cat
Strengths: is agile, quick, quick-witted, has night vision, is small, and is slightly more durable than the average cat.
Magick: ability to speak
Pets: none, because he is a street cat
Other: he doesn't trust easily, but he is sneaky and willing to make a deal. Oh and the scientist that experimented on him never knew his name and called him by the tattoo that he put in Traks' right ear (the flopped one)
Spoiler: Upscalerat'sName: Nell Parks
Race/Breed: Human
Gender Identity: Cis female
Age: 27
Class: Middle class
Occupation/skills: Landscaper for an upper class family
Appearance: Nell has long, straight, reddish orange hair, which she often keeps tied up and light brown eyes. Her skin is light, with a soft tan. She is somewhat muscular due to the physical nature of her job. Nell does not have the right arm that she was born with, but instead mechanical prosthetic that connects into where her shoulder used to be. She stands at a fairly average height, perhaps a few inches taller. Nell is often not fussy about her clothes: jeans or slacks, generally a tank top, and sometimes a light jacket if it's cold. At the coldest time of year, she has a heavier jacket to go on top of the other two, as well as an old scarf and a thin hat to wear.
Spoiler: Picture
Credit to DeviantArt user AGNakamura.
Sexuality: Bisexual, preference for women
Personality: Nell is more than happy to grab a drink and pal around with just about anyone. On the surface, she's cheerful, and sees commiserating about work to be a bonding experience for her middle class community. Underneath that, she's frankly less than happy about the whole situation of things. She's naturally curious about how stuff works, about how everything fits together, but knows better than to try and pursue that. A part of her wants to change the way things are, but a larger part of her wants to continue having a roof over her head and food in her belly, so she is not too inclined to try and shake things up. She generally is caring and kind, and looks out for others; but she also makes sure to prioritize herself. She can't help anyone else if she's out of commission.
Ties: Her family, has some friends on the street she lives on.
Kin: Nell has a father, still living, and an older brother, who maintains her arm. Nell's mother got sick and passed away about twenty years ago.
History: Nell's life has been fairly typical, as far as she can tell. She lost her mother young, which was sad, but not exactly uncommon. She was an above average, though not exceptional, student. After school, Nell spent a couple of years working in a factory with her father. Since she was still young and small at the time, she was often tasted with cleaning the machines- until one day, when her arm was far in between some wheels, and the machine was accidentally reactivated. Nell lost her arm, and quit her job in order to recover. After her brother built her a replacement arm, Nell found herself not wanting to work in the factory any more, but had realized she had taken a liking to gardening, and pursued that as a field instead. She was hired on to an upper class family's property as an assistant landscaper, and while she has changed who she has worked for a couple of times now, she has maintained this occupation for about eight years now.
Weaknesses: Extreme temperatures make her prosthetic arm difficult to use, and painful. She will often turn a blind eye to injustice due to her fear of the repercussions.
Strengths: Nell is a ride or die friend, once you're close enough to her, within reason. She is often quick to analyze a situation and offer advice, though good instincts don't make up for lack of experience. Nell can also hold her own in a fist fight, though is at a disadvantage when any sort of weapon more complicated than a knife is involved.
Magick: None
Pets: None; sometimes feeds alley cats near her home though, and sort of sees them as pets

Rumors: Is there really a city in the Underworld? It's been awful peaceful up on the mountain lately...The criminals have got to be hiding somewhere!

Additional information (Optional):
Spoiler: The OverworldAs an amalgamation of flying cites that block most of the sunlight to the ground, the Overworld is where the ground people call "Airheads" live. The cities contain vast areas for leisure and art-viewing surrounded by amazing architecture and dappled with libraries, theaters, ballrooms, and scientist labs. The only places of employment are for the servants to work part-time for some cash, which are usually at places like high-class bars and restaurants. Occasionally, the cities drift apart like clouds or even drop an anchor to the ground below if they prefer to not be blown away by the wind.
Spoiler: The Ground
The Earth or the Ground is where the rest of the population lives. It's a thickly packed city with the upper class living closer towards the sky alongside a mountain and the lower classes are closer to the valley and muck river, where the sewage leaks out. The nicer houses are small mansions in a neighborhood, but the rest are usually high-rises and apartments.
Spoiler: The UnderworldW I P
The scum, homeless, and flea-ridden criminals of the gutters and alleyways below the main city.
The Underworld consists of anything too dirty for a middle-class person to consider entering. The valley that gets the drainage from the mountain is home to sewer rats and mangey must alike. The deeper you go, the darker and nastier it gets. There are some canals in the ground that are said to lead to a hidden city underneath the Middle-class town.
