Name: Jane Green
Race: Half Elf
Gender: Female
Age: 29
Description: Jane is not someone you would look twice at upon first glance, easily filed into the expected background character to someone else’s story. She has brown skin, and slick black hair that is almost always worn in a ponytail, and her eyes are an amberish brown. Her clothing is relatively plain, but well maintained (or, as well as any typical Undercity residents tends to be). Her build seems average enough, and she is about 5’4” tall.
However, upon closer observation, more can be seen about her. Hidden beneath her hair, slightly pointed ears signifying her half breed heritage can be seen. Faint scars can be seen on her skin and, if she is wearing a low enough cut shirt, a rather large burn scar can be seen going down her chest. When she walks, it is with a slight limp as she has a (poorly fitted) prosthetic leg from left knee down.
Despite how menacing Jane seems upon a closer look, she has quite an approachable air to her, and smile lines can be seen along the more faint scars. Her hands are calloused, and she has quite an athletic build from years of work, both in her past life and current.
Power: She can sense if someone is Zeran-- it comes across like the sound of static that grows louder the closer she gets to a Zeran. If she touches them briefly, she can get the gist of their power. Longer contact lets her know more about what a person’s powers are.
Personality: Jane seems rather intimidating at first, but she is actually quite a kind and considerate person. She is very protective of those she considered under her care, and often tends to stand in as a parental figure to many of them, bad puns included. When asked about her scars and missing limb, she often gives an assortment of flippant answers, and generally avoids talking about her past. She can get rather surly if someone tries to pry too much, and will generally avoid that person afterwards. In more dangerous situations, she is quite competent, and does not mind taking the lead to ensure everyone’s safety. She tends to avoid physical contact with people due to her power.
Backstory: Most people know Jane as the Barkeep and co-owner of a small bar and diner in the slums called the “Green Garble”. It is a small establishment known for its surprisingly tasty nutrient slop creations (best in the slums! Try the pizza! An almost 'upper crust" experience!), bracing brews (it puts hair on your chest, if you can swallow it), and for providing odd jobs to many of the neighborhood kids in return for a decent amount of pay and a warm meal. She also provides protection to any more vulnerable parties, and is well respected enough to where she can usually enforce it.
Her past is not something she will ever speak of willingly, as there is technically no past for “Jane Green”. She has been in the undercity for somewhere around 5 years, but has established herself in such a way many think she has been around longer.
There is not much to note about her history. She was born to an elven mother and human father who separated shortly after her birth. She lived with her father in the undercity as a child, until he vanished and she was found wandering by some kinder neighbors in the Komplex that was her home. After this, her mother took her in the upper city before quickly sending her to boarding schools, as she was much too occupied with her work to spend time on a child. The boarding schools did not take kindly to a “half breed” with lower city manners, so she quickly became notorious as a problem child until she was eventually sent to a military school.
Jsne continued with this until she was old enough to graduate, and took a position with a private bodyguard service. She did quite well with this, until one particular job in the undercity where the caravan she was hired to protect was attacked, the entire convoy destroyed with explosives. This is how she lost part of her leg, and got her burn scars-- and was also assumed dead by the uppercity.
Being in the lower city, and not having any way to prove her identity, she decided to begin a new life as “Jane Green”. She luckily had some money on her person-- what the upper city considered as spending cash and was a small fortune in the undercity-- and managed to establish herself back in the undercity.
