"Late again I see...." the voice sounded annoyed with a little hint of playfulness Ronan looked up and saw the head coach but made no haste.

He slowly trudged along; his prosthetic right leg stepped almost soundlessly on the wooden floorboard before stopping in front of the older man. He sheepishly smiled, pushing his messy black hair back.

"I'm not late... You're just way too early."

The head coach rolled his eyes. "Whatever... I would expect you to be punctual the next time. Now, get changing." He ordered.

"Yes sir." Ronan replied calmly and slowly made his way toward the changing room.

The head coach could only sigh, watching as Ronan disappeared as he turned into the corner. This is gonna be a long...long day.

Kara looked at her watch was it her or was the bus running late again. She did not like to be late for Olympic practice for her coach did not like it when she was late. "Oh come on bus where you are at your late again." she says as she pulls out her phone and dolls for coach's number.

But she ends up having to leave a message. "Hey I am sorry I am not there yet the bus is running late again. I will be there when the bus comes. Okay see you soon bye. Man he never seems to answer his phone when I call him." she said as she hung up her phone.

By the time the bus had come she had been standing there for an over an hour. Well it is about time it got here she said under her breath. When the bus finally got to the gym Kara was waiting to get off the bus. Grabbing her bag she ran into the gym but as she was turning the corner to go into the changing room she ran into a young man she had never seen before.

"Oh my excuse me I am so sorry sir please forgive me." she said as she bent down to pick up his towel for him.

Ronan knew the Head Coach a long time so that explained their close relationship. He was well-versed in both Aerobic and Artistic Gymnastics so it was unavoidable that they would be rivals on the field but there was no animosity. They leave in good terms.

It wasn't until a few weeks ago that the Head Coach contacted him, asking if he wanted a job as one of the coach. After being persuaded endlessly, Ronan finally agreed and leave his working desk behind.

He was a little surprised when something. Or someone ran into him but he didn't stagger as he was much stronger than her though his towel fell onto the ground.

No, no, chillingly he shook his head. "No harm done... Be careful next time." He said briefly, without much expression. He watched as the girl reached down to pick the towel up.
"So I'm guessing you are one of the regulars here?"

Kara kind of smiled "I guess you could say I am a regular here at the gym. I don't think I have seen you around before. My name is Kara Adams." she said as she held out her hand for him to shake it.

"I am kind of running a little late today because the bus was an hour late. Now days you can't tell when a bus is going to be on time." What brings you here for? "She said as she studies him.

Ronan watched as the girl smiled. "I'm actually new here." He shrugged and answered. The guy was not a talker so he spent 3 seconds in his mind, debating whether to answer or just walk away.

He then reached out and shook her hand briefly. "Ronan Blackthorn." He introduced himself. "I was asked to be here....It has been some years..." He said, reminiscing the times when he would make trip to the gym often... maybe 6 days a week? "Anyway.. Since you are already late, you best be on your way. Don't think your coach would go easy on you if you continue to be late."

Ronan took his towel from the girl and walked away but before he walked any further, he turned his head and said "Thanks" before entering the Men's Changing Room.

Kara nods her head as he introduces himself to her. "It is nice to meet you Ronan. I see. Will I see around here anymore or is this a one-time meet?" she asked as she looks down at prosthetic leg but quickly brought her eyes back up to his face.

Then she laughed when he told her she best be on her way so her coach wouldn't get on her for being late. "Oh coach won't get on me for being late he does not care as long as I do come in and not miss being here. Plus I have been here long enough to know what he expects of me. But I will let you go now." she says as she hands him the towel.

Then she starts to make her way to the ladies changing room but stops when she hears him say thanks. "Oh you're welcome." she says with a smile on her face then she turns to go into the changing room.

Once she had gotten in there she pulled off her shoes and gym jacket and pulled up her hair into a ponytail she then made her way out into the floor to warm up before she started doing the high bars. But her mind was not on her warming up but the mystery guy she had run into she hoped she would see him again.

The Men's' Changing Room was empty by the time Ronan went in. He went to the locker area and unlocked one, placing his sling bag into the compartment. He took out his clothing from the bag and stripped, slipping on a black leotard, a pair of black shorts and a hooded sports jacket. Ronan then tossed his remaining clothes into the locker before closing the door. After doing a little stretches, he walked out of the changing room.

"Gather around now everyone." The Head coach's voice can be heard around the training center. All of the gymnasts stopped what they were doing and waited for his announcement. The head coach called out when he noticed Ronan approached. The young man took his place beside the coach and looked around the center, observing.

"So as you all know... Michael has left us to further his studies so we are kind of short-handed." He started. "We have the privilege to recruit a new coach to help us out...." He continued. "Everyone please welcome Mr. Ronan Blackthorn...."

At once the center was exploded with low murmurs when Ronan was introduced. All of them were looking at him but most of them were eyeing at his prosthetic leg. The gymnasts weren't used to be coached by a handicapped person.

Kara finished warming up on the floor and as she was putting on powdered chalk on her hands she heard head Coach Albert calling for everyone to gather around. Kara was a little confused as she moved closer to coach Albert. Then her mouth dropped open when she saw the guy she had bumped into on the way to the changing room earlier.

So this was why he was there she thought to herself. She did not understand why all her teammates were so worried about this guy's prosthetic leg for her father had one and she learned to understand and except what it was for.

After Coach Albert had told everyone his announcement Kara saw that no one was going over to meet the new coach so she slowly made her way over to him.

Then smiling she spoke. "Well we meet again and I wanted to be the first to welcome you to the team coach Ronan." she said as she started to hold out her hand to shake his hand but stopped and started laughing.

"I would shake your hand but I just finished putting on some powdered chalk. So please forgive me for not doing so." she said as her face turn bright red.

Once she had recovered from her embarrassment she smiled again. "So are you going to work with one person as their personal trainer or with everyone as a group coach? She said as she turn to look at all her teammates and then turn back to look at him again to see what he would say.

Ronan looked around and watched as the girl from before approached him.

"The pleasure is mine." He answered shortly. His face remained without an expression and didn't notice when the girl felt embarrassed.

"Anyway, Ronan will be here until the end of the National Competition... but if he does feel the desire to stay, and then he will be greatly welcomed. Coach Albert said.

"We shall see." Ronan ended and the coach coughed.

Ronan looked at the girl when she asked whether he would be personal or a group trainer. He racked his brain, trying to remember the girl's name. It took a while before her name registered. Kara Adams. Before Ronan could answer, Coach Albert injected,

He only agrees to teach one person." "Michael coached two persons so naturally those two would be directly under Ronan's coaching. However, since Ronan would only coach one. The other would continue to be under group coaching." The coach explained.

"I don't really mind." Ronan shrugged.

"Since Leo isn't here this evening. Kara, you get to pick first."

Kara nods her head when Coach Albert told her that Ronan will be with them until National Competition was over.

"Yes, we did need another coach since Michael left." she said with a smile on her face.

Then Coach Albert spoke again Kara felt bad for Ronan she knew he wanted to talk she could see it on his face and she thought Coach Albert was being rude. Maybe she could stop Ronan later and ask him his feelings about taking the job.

"Thank you coach Albert for answering his question."

After she had said that she was a little surprised that Coach Albert was letting her be the first one to pick if she wanted him as her coach.

Kara looked at Ronan with wide eyes then back at Coach Albert and then said.

"Um are you sure about this? Leo has been here longer then I have. But if you are sure about.." she then stopped and thought for a minute.

"I guess ....I would be honored to have Coach Ronan as my personal coach. So yes is my answer." she said as she reaches out to shake his hand and forgot she had powder chalk all over her hands as she did take his hand in hers.

"Oh my I am so sorry Coach Ronan." she said as she ran over to the high bars and grabbed a rag for him to clean his hand off with.

I guess I am too excited to be getting you as a coach I forgot I had powder chalk on my hands please forgive me." she said as she hands him the rag.

Then changing the subject she asked him a question. "Coach Ronan when do you want to start training with me?" she said as she looks right at him and hoping he would be the one to answer her back.

Ronan watched as the girl spoke and decided whether to have him coach her. He found out that the girl was kind of lively...someone who was the exact polar of him.

Her answer was yes. Ronan was surprised when she reached out to shake his hand which ended up covered with the white powder.

"No worries." He said, clapping both hands together to get rid of the powder.
"So that's settled then. Everyone dismissed for practice." Coach Albert declared and hurried off, leaving the pair alone to accustom to each other.

Ronan shook his head and looked to see that everyone else has returned to their training. Coach Albert had disappeared elsewhere with something to attend to.

He turned to look at the girl and sighed.

"Well I'm not sure if you did the right choice. And my training method is different...so I wouldn't mind if you would like to switch midway." He warned.

"Anyway.. Let's get started so put on your jacket and sneakers...." He said. Without waiting for her to answer, he left and exit the building...standing by the door.

Kara smiled and nods her head when Ronan told her it was okay when she shook his hand with the powder chalk on it.

Then Kara frowned when she heard coach Ronan tell her he was not sure if she made the right choice for his training method was different.

Kara shakes her head "Why do you think it was not the right decision? We have not even started the training yet to know I won't like it. What would I not like?" she says as she watches her team mates go back to the different things in the gym.

Then he surprised her by telling her to get her shoes and jacket on and walked out the gym before she could answer.

Ronan shrugged, obviously ignoring whatever questions she was throwing at him. He waited for her to get ready outside of the building.

He looked up when the girl jogged over to him, dressed in jacket and shoes like she was told to.

We are going for a jog. Let see if you can keep up. He briefly said. And without any further delay, he sprinted away jogging toward the jogging path that overlooks the calm river.

If you can't, just tell me. He shouted before continuing down the track.

Once a while, he did glance over his shoulder to make sure that the girl was able to catch up.

Ronan was jogging at an average human speed so he relatively slow. Instead he wanted to see how good of her stamina and endurance was plus the morning fresh air do create wonders.

There were some people around the place-old people doing there morning exercise, young people were either jogging or marveling the sight of the river.
