Seeking Historical Roleplay Fans! :)

Hey!

I find myself with time on my hands in RL and I want to fill it with a new roleplay I love historical settings (what can I say...I'm of the Disney generation of castles and dragons lol) and I am a total history nerd! I will happily research and investigate the setting, outfits and culture to death if needs be haha I'd love it if partner was happy to put in same effort but obviously you don't need to go mad (like me!) but a good knowledge and willing to learn is great

Fave Periods/Settings I'd like to explore:

* Romanov Dynasty in Russia (This spans about 300 years to 1914 lol so we'd need to pick a Tsar and see what we want to explore)

* Court of Louis 15th and 16th with the Rococo culture, frothy excess and lavish parties!

* Tudor Period in England

* Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome/Roman Empire

* Wild West

* Also happy to add in fantasy elements to it, so historical with a twist

Pretty much anything with a good idea and I'm there

I've a few ideas for plot but it depends on period so let's chat!

History! I love it!

The Romanov Dynasty and the Wild American West are the time periods on that list I find most interesting.
What type of subject matter Rps do you like?
Just exploring the daily lives in a slice of life?
Drama and intrigue?

I have to admit I do like slice of life but I tend to tire of it and want action and intrigue etc soon after haha so a combination is probably best

Court intrigue in the Romanov Dynasty is fairly common haha You don't survive and thrive in the Russian court without a knack for that!

And The Wild West is action packed (always loved the style of the old films and stories, grainy and gritty real life you know? And then RDR 1/2 omg...Fell in love all over again due to the scenery and characters)

Okay! Of course things need to be kept interesting.

I am not sure how to structure a Romanov era RP without scripting it. There are alot of moving parts there and a ton of characters in play, but I am open to suggestions.

Wild west definitely feels easier to manage the smaller scale. I definitely understand what you mean!

Did you have any thoughts for plots, or character roles you would like to try out?

I had stumbled across a western plot that I found interesting a while ago, but nothing ever come of it.
A well to do young lady from Boston is forced to flee her life of comfort and sophistication when her uncle plans an accident and has her father and mother killed to marry her off to his son, her cousin, to get his hands on the families fortune. The Authorities don't believe her, so she flees west to the frontier to avoid her vile uncle until she comes of age to claim the inheritance held in trust for her, and move to Europe.

Are you interested in Steampunk? Considering it's a subgenre that's set in a Victorian-era (but what people of that era predicted the future to be), it can sometimes be classified as historical fiction. It might strike your fancy.
