Soulless sobbed brokenly as the man approached, his body screaming in pain. The ground stung his skin, the dagger's hilt burned his hand, his throat felt raw... it all hurt... it all hurt so much. He looked up at Arxus, whimpering softly and begging without words for mercy. He moved instinctively again as an angry roar burst into his mind, slamming down the pain with rage and the boy was commanded to move.

He wasn't aware of what was going on. The child wasn't even aware of the danger he was in. He merely obeyed the voice of his guardian, one that pierced through the wall of pain. The burn of movement only kicked in after he leaped backwards, hot pain flashing as the blade made a shallow but open gash on his chest, blood immediately spilling and staining the white of his clothes. The child begged openly, his voice stuttered with bubbling from his blood. "Please... P-Pleeeaaaaassse.... Pl..eaaa...se..." This was to two different people, he begged Arxus for mercry and he begged his guardian to relieve him.

Saneless growled openly in their mind, ready to kill this walking corpse at any moment. However, he knew there wasn't enough blood yet. Just some more blood. Just a bit more blood, then he could exact his revenge. Until then... the brat wasn't able to move or think on his own... so he would do it for him. He spoke again, powerful and angry. "Hold out a little longer. Raise the dagger again." His command was open and angry, the child obeyed, whimpering. Soulless held up the small, rusted dagger, speaking how he was commanded to speak.

"G-go... away... G-g-go... aw..ay.... I.. I-I-I'll... h-h-hu....rrrrt yo....you!!" He whimpered, looking up and forcing a shaking scowl to the man. No doubt he wasn't very convincing, but it was the best he could do given the situation.

There was no mercy or forgiveness anywhere in Arxus, not in his eye, not in his body language, not in his steel, and certainly not in the expressionless mask. Arxus chuckled darkly as Soulless pleaded for mercy and then tried to threaten him. "Not today, boy. No mercy, no forgiveness." The well memorized and ominous creed that had been beaten into him by two centuries of battle issued from his lips in a cold whisper loud enough to be heard by the boy.

Arxus raised a hand, tattoos glowing down the outstretched and pale arm, this burst would be aimed to kill, even though he was just at the edge of its range. In an instant the tattoos flickered and a tongue of crimson and black flame almost as red as Soulless' blood shot from his fingertips toward the boy, accompanied by a peel of frigid high-pitched laughter.

Soulless did as he was told once more, turning and running as best as he could with the flames licking his back and burning his flesh. Sobbing, he rolled onto his side and hugged himself as closely as he could, his regeneration going on full blast as a few wounds on his arms began to close up, and the bleeding from his mouth lessened to a stop. He whimpered in acknowledgment of the lessening of pain. There was enough blood now. He sat up, wincing, but the pain was bearable now, since his hands had largely healed. Good. Wiping away a few tears, the child stared at his surroundings. Blood splattered the floor, the walls, it seemed to be everywhere. Perfect. He wheezed a moment.

He looked down at his fallen blade and reached it a moment, before turning and stabbing himself with the knife, deep in his arm. Soulless cried out at the pain, but bore it. He would be relieved of it soon. In fact... now.

Soulless carefully switched his eyepatch with his uninjured hand. The other eye was darker, and more suspicious. Saneless frowned in an open mouthed scowl at the pain.

Arxus watched as Soulless began to heal at a prodigious rate, it was not a concern of his, but it could prove irksome depending on the effectiveness of the skill later on. What Arxus was more concerned about was the change that seemed to come over the boy, no longer whimpering as much and seeming to regain an amount of control. Then Soulless stabbed himself in the arm, it was an odd move to say the least, but Arxus had begun to expect odd moves from this boy, there had to be some correlation between his presence here, the injuries he was inflicted with, and his fighting capabilities. There was no understanding it at the moment though, as his change of personality was becoming more apparent.

The eyepatch switched and Arxus saw who he had really come to fight, someone not so effected by the pain, not so worried about injuries, and, it seemed, almost as damaged as himself. "Yes, that's it, that's why you're here, you're who I really want to fight!" He started running for the boy, toward the fight, toward the end he hoped would come, but could not bring himself to simply let happen. He positioned the Breaker to easily be able to perform a left to right diagonal upward strike with the spike aimed at impaling the boy in the side.

Saneless stared at this man, examining him a moment. As this walking corpse ran to him, he kneeled easily enough, taking out the dagger and thrusting it forward with one hand. With the other, he lifted his bloody arm, the blood solidifying beneath his arm to block the breaker. He didn't want the man to know his abilities just yet. "Bastard." He spat a moment, shaking his head. "I ain;t here to fight a walking deadman." His growl made him seem older and, indeed, it seemed as if he had grown a bit. His body was a little leaner, and a tad more muscled.

The youth thrust his blade forward. He'd teach this bastard the fight he wanted. He moved fluidly, without any sort of hesitation. He snarled loudly as wave after wave of pain flowed through him, making him only more enraged and more murderous. He would make this fucking corpse pay for every second of pain he felt.

The first of Saneless' thrusts bounced off the Breaker as it was deflected off the boy's arm, but the second connected with his torso and somehow wormed its way an inch deep into his side through the chainmail. Arxus began to bleed for the first time this match, admittedly it felt natural at this point. But how had the Breaker been deflected in the first place? There was no time to ponder the issue, they were too close together to think.

Arxus dropped one hand from his sword, then the other, instinctively reaching for a Talon with his right hand.
"I aint here to fight a walking deadman."
"Oh but you are!" Arxus spat back, swinging the back of his armored left hand at Saneless' head while his right hand guided a Talon towards the boy's stomach.

This corpse just wouldn't stop fucking talking. How annoying. If only the bastard would just go ahead and die somewhere, then this would be over and Saneless could get on with his life. Hell, maybe he should meet that 'Merry' chick, show her a thing or two like how her organs may glister in the sunlight. It was the least she deserved for putting him in this shitty situation, stuck talking to a corpse with way too many fucking pointy things swinging around.

The youth's face did not show his rapid thoughts. Instead, it was in a deep-set scowl, as if he wanted nothing more than to drive this world to nihility. In a way, it was all he wanted. If everyone died from famine or disease, it would serve him just fine. Of course, then maybe he would have some goddamned peace once in a while, instead of dealing with bitches and bastards left and right with their human wants and human needs. He despised it all.

Saneless lifted both his arms now, letting go of the dagger so that it remained in the man's side. His blood shot out of the dagger's hollow entrance, ripping and rending into Arxus's organs without mercy, intending to have the man die from internal injuries. Seeing as he had stabbed into the man's side, his blood may puncture the stomach or the small intestines, releasing digestive enzymes and stomach acid that would be quite fatal. It could also tear at the liver, and work its way up through the diaphragm and into the lungs. How the man died wasn't really Saneless's concern, however.

With a yell of 'Go fuck yourself!', he used the blood that had coated his body and lifted it off his clothes, condensing in a tendril and wrapping it around the talon, effectively allowing it to pierce the skin but not rip through anything vital. Thankfully, the human body wasn't very dense. The youth's main concern was that fucking hand and he rose with both of his own arms to cover his head and block that hand from getting near his neck and shoulders, remembering what it did and not wanting to go through that.

Arxus' armored hand bounced hard off of Saneless' arms, he could not keep power in the strike with what was going on in his body. As the Talon was blocked as well he doubled over and yanked the blade from his side, hoping that he would have enough time to take this bastard to the grave with him. He straightened, forcing himself to stay focused and present a rather convincing façade of invincibility, then pointead Saneless' knife at him and twitched the end back and forth.

"Now now, can't have that can we?" He said, voice like pure poison. Arxus' eye flashed and he snapped his fingers, then the canyon was enveloped in pure darkness save for the crimson light cast upon the boy by the eye of the corpse. Arxus took a wide swing with the right Talon, nearly undetectable in the darkness, the only sounds were of their breathing and that of the stream nearby, both of which drowned out the near silent approach of the razor sharp blade.

So the hulking bastard wouldn't go down even with such wounds. Saneless found himself surprised, though extremely displeased. It would take a lot more, then. However, that claw did not strike as deeply as he thought. The claws tore into his open flesh like butter, and he cursed in pain. However, the lack of strength spoke that even if he wasn't dead, his enemy still felt that injury.

Maybe there was a chance after all. He was just about to make his next move when the darkness fell, as clear as obsidian. The youth stood in shock for a moment, before immediately kneeling and gathering the blood he spilled to form a shield covering most of his body. He did not see the attack coming, and the blow made him grunt with the effort to withstand it. His relatively small body was sent flying into more rocks, scraping his already open wounds. "Fuck..." He snarled loudly, in pain and anger.

"You... cheating... motherfucking... bastardloving..." He began, cursing a few more brash insults into the darkness, enraged by the perceived cowardice of his enemy. With a roar, Saneless activated all of the blood that was spilled in one moment, rising from the ground, the walls, the fallen blade, the droplets on the talon that pierced him, and whatever was left over in the enemy's organs. The blood began to thrash wildly in his rage, blind in the dark and deciding that instead of figuring things out he would rather attack everything and hope he struck gold. He was almost sure he would eventually, and when that happened, he would know exactly where his target was.

Arxus laughed quietly as his opponent started cursing and then he stepped out of range of the now writhing tendrils of blood, his insdes were so mashed up no that he didn't feel the pain anymore. Arxus threw his voice to the right side of Saneless and covewred his eye enough that it would not be noticed through the swarm of tentacles and he could still see. "What's wrong little boy, lost your way in the valley of death it seems." His voice now came from Saneless' left. "Or maybe you thought you could come here, insult me, tempt me, and try to kill me without trading your own life for mine." And now from behind him. "Perhaps you are more of a gambler, but you're playing against someone who's been counting the cards. I know that you will never accomplish your goals, this arena will kill you before you can, you should've been playing against the house instead of trying to peek at my cards.

As he was talking this time his voice had not stayed in one place, but each word had come from a different direction and Arxus had circled around Saneless, ending behind him. He three his voice one last time, this time only reworked inches in front of Saneless' face. "You'll never beat me, your worst enemy is yourself. Have you even noticed how much blood you've lost while we've been chatting?"

He finally dropped the hand from his eye, took one glimpse at Saneless and shot a stream of fire that was more liquid than the other two, meant to stick and burn for a few seconds, directly at the child's back, or at least what of it was exposed.
