The room filled with light and then she was in Raeralrin's room. Raeralrin slept peacefully, his body looking the way it did when she first met him. Quesulhon walked into the room. "How was your trip?"

"It was..." Kadey started but she couldn't describe it. She would miss her mother, and her room, she'd even miss Deena, the horse that had belonged to her mother and had hated Kadey.
Kadey watched as Rae slept soundly. She grabbed his hand just to feel it's warmth. "I can't believe it," she murmured.
Raeralrin stirred then opened his eyes. "Kadey..." He smiled at her then jumped up, startled. "Where are we?" He noticed Quesulhon. "You! You're the bearer of history! What are you doing here?" He sat down, confused.
"You have been chosen Raeralrin, you will be the bridge." Quesulhon explained, smiling. "Kadey will be the human ambassador."
"I'll be your human ambassador," Kadey said, staring at Rae. "Isn't this great? We can live here and not have to worry about falling apart because we'll always be together, always."
Kadey's smile was huge. She hugged Rae. "And I don't have to worry about you dropping dead." She turned to Quesulhon. "When does he start?"
"It'll take a few months to get him used to it and after that, he'll be on his own." He said with a laugh. "It is great."
"What about my father? Does he know?" Raeralrin put his arms around Kadey. "I'm happy but... why me?"
"Yes, your father knew since I told him all those years ago." Quesulhon gave Raeralrin a fond smile. "You were the only one that felt bad for these humans, the other elves pretend but you truly cared. That's why."
"You were the only one that truly cared," Kadey repeated. She pulled him closer and gave him a kiss. "I love you," she murmured quietly to him.
Kadey looked up at Rae's eyes. "For everything you've given me Rae," she started, then hugged him harder. "Argrair vostè." Thank you.
