@Azazeal Yes, that is the reason the soldiers are called peasants (like in chess), and the units nicknames are also from chess, a space station is a king and a queen is the biggest ship in the fleet...

Hi Reaper My way around it was to pick a main character with a high enough rank to have a meaningful impact on the story, and do the occasional temporary "zoom in" to the POV of random characters on the front line for the battle scenes. I'm sure our GM will have more ideas though!
