Hello one and all! This RP is based off of the anime Ranma 1/2, but people who don't know the of Ranma 1/2 are welcome to join as well! If you don't know Ranma 1/2 and you're interested in joining, check the spoiler below. Those who do know Ranma 1/2, just skip on ahead :3 Sorry for writing so much! I hope that having all this information helps you out in the long run~!

To those new to the anime, the following video is from the season 2 opening, and pretty much explains the entire plot. It's really short, so watch it :3

Aside from this, the only thing you need to know is how Ranma gained the curse... The curse comes from a hot springs and semi-popular training grounds located in China. There are TONS of springs, all with different sad stories of a drowned something from whatever years ago. The curse of the spring is that once you fall into one, every time you fall into cold water, you turn into whatever you've been cursed as, but when you're immersed in hot water, you revert back to as you were. For example, Ranma fell in the spring of drowned girl, which is why he turns into a girl when cold water is poured on him. He turns back into a boy when hot water is poured on him. Simple enough?

STORY
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The cursed springs of Jusenkyo have been growing in popularity after a young boy and his father used it as a training grounds. After hearing the story that Ranma Saotome told of it's terrible curse and his warnings not to go, a group of brave yet foolish people decided to defy him, you included. You and your companions all use the grounds for martial arts training of some sort, and by defying your tour guide you all end up falling into various pools, and just as Saotome warned, you're cursed! Scared out of your mind, you and the group find their way to a small dojo in what seemed the middle of no where, the Jusenkyo Dojo of the Cursed Art Style. The old woman running the dojo claims that she has the cure to the Jusenkyo curse, and that she'll hand it over on one condition... you and your companions become her pupils and an heir to her dojo is named. Now both competitors and peers, you and your group all begin to train under your new teacher, Chiharu-sensei.

Note: This RP takes place after the end of the anime/TV series and may or may not include hints of the manga series as prior events as well.

EPISODES

Spoiler: What are episodes (and intermissions)? 

During the course of this RP there will be different "episodes" or chapters. I will essentially name to you what the episode is, and in each episode there will be a certain goal everyone/someone has to reach before we can move on to the next episode. For example, in episode 1 of our RP, the goal was to show off your skills to Chiharu-sensei so that she can assess you all and figure out a training regimen for everyone. Once everyone had introduced themselves and shown off their techniques, we moved on to episode 2.

I will update a section [below] specifically for the episodes so that we all understand what's happened, and what's happening now. There will be short breaks between episodes called Intermissions. These will not last very long, and more likely than not will only be filler on the nights in between episodes, ending when everyone goes to bed for the night. Sometimes they will be vacation days, however, of which the plot of the episode is a freebee for all ya'll to figure out among yourselves. Fun~!

Episodes usually have a time limit of between 1 day and 1 week [in the RP time, not IRL], but depending on the task may or may not reach the longest time of 1 month. Yes, certain episodes are meant to be longer than others! Time limits aren't to stress you out, but to keep us all in time with each other. All this in mind, please remember the time limits on each episode, and adjust your posts accordingly.

GOALS: Gain curse; introduce selves at Chiharu's home; show off talents

Chiharu gained four new students - Kira, Quan, Feng, and Ryouga Hibiki - as well as smashing one student straight into failure. Ryouga damaged her wall, Quan and Feng duked it out with each other rather than Chiharu, and Kira's best move barely scraped his new teacher.
In the words of Mulan's Captain Shang: "...we've got a looong way to go."

RULES

I apologize in advance for the intimidating length of the rules section. Fear not, however! For I have bolded and underlined all of the important things. If you'd like to zoom past this, just read the bold+underlined stuff! The rest of it is only important when it's relevant

Spoiler: RULES 

1. Of course follow all of the original RPA rules One of those rules that I'd like to point out is NO GOD-MODDING.
2. You must write a minimum of 2 paragraphs per post.
3. Please inform us in the OOC if you'll be gone for a long period of time, and [if you can] please get your character out of the way for the duration of your absence. If an entire week passes without any notification, I will take over your character so that we can keep things moving along. If you completely disappear for 2 weeks to a month [depending on how patient I am] without notifying us, your character will be kicked out of the school, and thus you will be kicked out of the RP.
4. Side-stories and plots are totally ok [even recommended!] if you wanna keep it interesting, but overall you're here for a purpose. Don't let side plots distract from your training too much.
5. This entire RP is based solely on Ranma 1/2 and it's world, and is to be kept that way as much as possible. This means that you must keep us within the boundaries that Rumiko set for the world. See "Something Good to Know" for more details on the Can's and Can't's of this RP
6. You may not be a member of the Saotome Anything-Goes school, nor could you have at any point trained there. I only say this because I don't want an over-flow of people who have the advantage of training with the super special awesome cast of the show [This isn't to say your characters don't personally know the cast, but it also isn't to say they do; knowing the cast has nothing to do with training with them].
7. Because this is of course a Ranma 1/2 based RP, there will be a few showings from the wonderful cast of Ranma 1/2. These characters only show up when I control them and make them show up, however, and are not to be controlled by you guys [unless I say otherwise].
8. (More like rule 7.5) The Guide does NOT count as a main cast member, and may be used by anyone whenever needed. The rules in regards to the Guide are as follows: (1) The person who introduces the Guide is responsible for the Guide, and therefore the ONLY one who controls the Guide, until the Guide has exited [as in he's not a part of the RP at that time anymore; most likely exits will be leaving Jusenkyo and/or forcing the Guide back into his small hut/home]. (2) A GM can control the Guide at any time [even if you thought you were in control]. (3) The Guide only shows up at Jusenkyo or about Jusenkyo - not just randomly [ex. He can't show up as a guest at Chiharu-sensei's home].
9. You cannot travel all over China and Japan without the sole permission of Chiharu-sensei. Unless otherwise stated by me/Chiharu, the story must not stray far from the Jusenkyo Springs and the Jusenkyo Dojo of the Cursed Art Style [in a forest near Jusenkyo, which is located in the Bayankala Mountain range (Bayan Har Shan), south of Mount Kensei, in Qinghai Province, China], and if it does, it must be immediately brought back.
10. Nudity and bath scenes may occur, but sex is an absolute no-no. Keep in mind that the worst the anime ever does is show girl-type Ranma's bare chest, but anything below the belt is always covered. Same rule goes here. Sexual jokes and references are ok, but must be both kept at a bare minimum, and mostly innocent in nature [ex. "Let us run away and elope, Akane!" and "Ranma, do you want to go to the hot springs together? We'll be all alone~!"]. I'll be the judge of if it goes too far or not, and if I deem it not PG-13 then you'll be expected to remove it.

Repeat offenders of the rules will be kicked out of the school, thus kicked out of the RP.

SOMETHING GOOD TO KNOW
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Like Rule #3 states, the entire RP is based on the Ranma 1/2 anime and it's world. This doesn't just mean that you're limited by the Romiko world, but it also means that you can do things just like the characters.

Spoiler: Cans 

So, all in all, you can master a specific martial art skill of your creation - remember, your character went to the hot springs to train for SOMETHING! So be creative about it, come up with your own school if you want, or you can be a member of a dojo from a school mentioned within the show somewhere [keeping #4 in mind of course]. It doesn't end there, though... You can also fall into another spring and gain another curse [with my permission]. Not only that, but you can be extremely over-dramatic, have a billion fiance's/be another of Ranma's fiance's [lolz], and can be in whatever Japanese or Chinese-based outfit you desire, from whatever time period! You can jump extremely high, you can take inhumanly excessive damage before truly growing weak, you can reach incredible speeds when you attack, and you can be destructive as hell in semi-impossible ways [like Kuno's wooden training sword being able to cut through solid brick]. You can deliver a blow that ends up skyrocketing your victim, and you can be freaking awesome.

Spoiler: Can'ts 

Unfortunately, however, you can't be indestructible - even Ryouga falls when Ranma punches him enough times, and believe it or not Ranma HAS lost battles. You are only human, you make mistakes, and you DO have flaws. If Ranma Saotome can't beat your character, you have a tad bit of a God-Mod complex which is against the rules. Your character cannot die [since nobody dies in the anime], but your character can get kicked out of the school or leave. I won't say you can't swear [I mean, I swear, come on], but you must keep swearing at a bare minimum in the same manner that they do in the show [F**k isn't allowed here, sorry].

Spoiler: Maybes? 

Because I understand that we're not all Japanese here, I won't make suffixes a requirement [except in Chiharu's case. You MUST refer to her as either Chiharu-sensei, or simply sensei...why? Cuz I'm the freakin' sensei and wanna be addressed as such! ], but feel free to use them as long as you understand what they mean. I will be attempting to use them [since I am learning Japanese, and thus would like to get a feel for using them]. As far as speaking Japanese/Chinese goes, please don't write entire posts in Japanese/Chinese. Feel free to use it every so often to spice up the post, but know when enough is enough, and please provide translations where it's necessary. In other words, weeaboo it up! haha

FOR THE JUSENKYO CURSE: Even a little bit of water transforms you. Like Shampoo in episode 102 [at 11:16], however, you can touch water a LITTLE, TINY BIT without it transforming you. Just so that I don't get questions about it later...let's just agree that if your face gets wet, if at least 1/4 of your body is immersed in the water, or you're hit with water in a way that doesn't air dry in a matter of 60 seconds, then you transform. Water has to be at least warm in order to dispel the effects of cold-water transformation. Rather than get really technical about degrees F or C or whatever, we'll just agree that if you couldn't comfortably bathe in the water, it counts as cold, and that room temperature water counts as cold.

If there's any questions about what else you can and can't do within the Ranma 1/2 world, feel free to ask! I'll update this as questions get answered so that you know what you're able to do :3

CartelSaide [a.k.a. Victor] (formerly AshiraCartel) - Cartel is the guy mainly responsible for this whole sh-bang; in other words, he's your wonderful GM. He is quite friendly, and is willing to take any questions you may have via PM, VM, or right here in the OOC if needed. Also, apologies have been made in advance for the crazy amount of words he writes.

SparrowHawk [a.k.a. Spawk] (I'm totally kidding) - Sparrow is the amazing co-GM of Jusenkyo Warriors, and is literally just 99% as powerful as Cartel. If questions arise and Cartel isn't around, Sparrow's your guy. Also, Sparrow might be taking over and controlling the kick-ass Ranma 1/2 crew every once in a while, as well as Chiharu-sensei when drastic times call for drastic measures...don't ignore the posts when he does. Or report them to Cartel...he's not crazy, he's supposed to do that.

Spoiler: Q&A About Strengths/Weaknesses 

How many strengths and weaknesses do you want? Are you looking for something like Ranma's fear of cats?

I'm not looking for anything that specific with the Weaknesses and Strengths, nor a specific number of either, I just wanted to make sure people were thinking about both so that there's a balance. If that's something like Ranma's fear of cats, then yes I'm glad to hear it and that's what I'm looking for, but if you put something different like "Has a bad leg;" "Ajility SUX;" etc. then that's also what I'm looking for...really anything to simply prove that your character is human and just plain has weaknesses/faults; also because these people are going to become students - they're being set up to get stronger, so if they're totally kick-ass strong as it is, then the entire RP is moot. In other words, it's both just a way to prevent the whole God-modding thing, and also helping me think of how Chiharu-sensei will train them, really

BIO/PERSONALITY: Chiharu used to be a member of the Elders of the Amazon Tribe, but left because of her radical ideas about men perhaps not being inferior, and disagreements among the Elders. She ran away with her beloved at the time, but something happened that she refuses to talk about and now she lives alone in her dojo. She doesn't get much business, but she enjoys the quiet while she has it just as much as she enjoys the bustle of activity when there are students around. Being of Amazon decent, she truly knows what training is, and will train you harder than you've ever trained before. Do not be fooled by her old appearance - she is truly powerful and cannot be beaten. You are 200 years too young to defeat her, so don't even try...unless you like pain.

REGULAR APPEARANCE: This intimidating lady has slanted white eyes that are like two spheres of alabaster. Her luxurious, straight, very short hair is the color of burnished iron, and is worn in an attractive, precise style She is short and has a slender build. Her skin is brown. She has small hands.

WEAKNESSES: Having trained almost exclusively as boy-type Kira, the change in the center of gravity, body mass, etc. gives him a penalty while fighting as girl-type Kira

CURSE APPEARANCE: This guy makes you think of a dangerous weapon. He has slitted blue eyes. His thick, curly, white hair is worn in a style that reminds you of a mysterious mask. He is tall and has a broad-shouldered build. His skin is cream-colored. He has small hands. His wardrobe is businesslike and strange, with a lot of black.

BIO/PERSONALITY: When he discovered his young wife was pregnant, a very boastful Gorou told his clan and friends he would have a son - and making many very expensive bets.

Gorou was sent on a mission to China and brought Akemi with him. Only the place he was going towards was very remote, and the journey was very hard on her. On the map was marked a curious training ground near his target, Jusenkyo, so they decided to stop there. Gorou was surprised to find the training ground was surprisingly vacant, but the Guide was very friendly and agreed to watch after Akemi while Gorou took care of his "errand".

On his return, Gorou found Akemi had died while giving birth - to their daughter, Kira. It was an incredible shock - made worse when he realized that when he returned home, he would be bankrupt and mocked when his clan and friends found out he had a girl, and thus lost his bet with them. Not returning however was out, because then his clan would search for him.

Desperate to take his mind off of his impending doom, he got to drinking with the Guide - and learned of Jusenkyo's dark secret. And Gorou had a desperate, drunken moment of inspiration.

Taking his newborn daughter out to the springs, Gorou found Nannīchuan and poured the water on her - and it worked, turning Kira into a boy. So he returned to his clan with the sad news that his wife had died, but he had completed his mission and brought back his 'son'.

However, he discovered that when his 'son' got splashed with hot water, she turned back. Worried that someone would find out, he trained her in secret with many cold baths to "toughen him up".

Despite a few incidents, Kira's secret was safe - until she was eleven. Along with the children of other families of the clan, she in her 'boy' form was presented for evaluations that would decide her placement in the clan. Kira was an excellent fighter, defeating all who apposed her - until an angry opponent threw hot tea at her. She changed in front of the entire clan - and one of the watching clan leaders leaned forward and whispered, "Jusenkyo".

Gorou was taken prisoner and Kira found herself being discussed by the clan elders and the women trainers. Once again she caught whispers of "Jusenkyo" being passed around, and if this was the revenge of the "Old Woman". When they started talking about Kira as "the girl", she could not contain herself and leaped to her feet, insisting that she was a boy, not a girl. There was an exchange of looks, then the clan leaders summoned everyone together. Gorou was to be executed - and Kira was thrown out, still in her girl form.

Eventually Kira managed to make her way to Jusenkyo - not seeking a cure, but a way to make the change permanent.

Spoiler: Feng/Quan Zhiqiang (SparrowHawk) 

NAME: Feng Zhiqiang
GENDER: M
AGE: 17
REGULAR APPEARANCE: Personal Reference Picture; Official Reference Image Pending
MARTIAL ARTS STYLE: Jūjutsu
STRENGTHS: SINGLE: When only in the form of Feng he has better concentration because there is not as much to distract him((meaning Quan)). Also tends to fight better in certain seasons, such as winter and fall.
TWIN: When in the form of Feng and Quan they have better power as there is two of them, and it makes for a good distraction against the opponent. They are able to hit from both sides and have better fighting techniques then when alone.
WEAKNESSES: SINGLE: When only Feng, he has a tendency to push himself to hard and pass out, especially during battles. Also has a fear of falling flowers, so not the best time to fight in the spring and summer seasons.
TWIN: When in the form of Feng and Quan they tend to fight each other more frequently then with their opponent, letting them have time to escape or attack. Also can be pretty clumsy with their skills together due to lack of training. Quan has a fear of falling leaves so isn't good for fighting in the fall and winter. ((see the dilemma here?))
SPECIAL TECHNIQUE: REFLECT- Uses the opponents energy against them by reflecting their source. Mostly anger being reflected by a calm demeanor letting Feng absorb the energy and switching the source, causing the opponent to feel calm as he used their own rage against them.*
((FENG + QUAN)) RESONANCE- Both brothers must breath in unison and calm their minds((like meditating)), even though this leaves them vulnerable it only take max. 8 seconds. This then lets their minds, souls, and bodies connect on a spiritual level so that they are able to use the air around them as a weapon and defense((like an airbender)), though this only last for a max. of 13 minutes.

BIO/PERSONALITY: Feng is a determined strong willed soul. He tends to push himself a little to hard, hence why he passes out so often. Feng grew up in a small village in china where his father trained him to fight along with many other boys from the village. No one knew what happened to Feng's mother, and his father refused to tell him. When Feng reached the age of 13 the elders declared him an official adult. Only a short month later Feng's father disappeared without a trance, no note or hint or anything to say where he had gone and for how long. With the aid of his friends and elders of the village Feng was able to live on his own for a few years until he turned 15. Finally, he decided it was time to look for his Father.

On his journey Feng stumbled upon a quiet springs training ground. The guide was unusually friendly and showed him around explaining the many different cursed springs and that bad things happened when one fell into the spring or have the water dowse them. Not quite paying attention from his long journey; Feng had been walking all day and all night, resulting in him passing out into one of the springs. He quickly sputtered out of the water wide awake only not by himself. Next to him was someone who looked just like him only with white hair and seemed a little taller. The guide helped change him back by throwing a pot of scolding water on them both resulting in the twin connecting into Feng like he was never there. Feng ended up staying with the guide for a couple weeks before moving, simply coping with his new reality.

Once moved on Feng and his twin got quite a bit of time to know each other and they both decided upon a name for him; Quan. Quan was quite opposite of his brother, he was not very motivated at all but had natural talent for everything. He was smart and could talk his way out of many difficult situations, unlike Feng who would have resorted to fighting in the end to settle the argument.

INACTIVE CHARACTERS

Spoiler: Shiro Masume (Miss Bear) 

NAME: Shiro Masume
GENDER: Male
AGE: 17
REGULAR APPEARANCE: He is 6"2 and has red hair in a long braid that goes to his knees. He has sharp cut features but also are a bit delicate and has eyes that almost seem a bit intimidating, due to him always keeping on the same expression most of the time, which would be a smile, he keeps his eyes very narrow making them look closed (Like gin from bleach). Please tell me if i need to add more detail or if i can just use a picture, here's reference
MARTIAL ARTS STYLE: Chuōjiǎo [Example of Chuōjiǎo]
STRENGTHS: Human form: He can for one fight with he's fist's and legs! Unlike in his cat form he cannot use his fighting style. He is more calm and has more strength and less pressured. Cat form: He has more agility and is able to move into smaller/tight spaces with more stealth, also is faster. And having sharp claws isn't a bad thing ether!
WEAKNESSES: Cat form: Being in this form makes him much more vulnerable to attacks and makes him nervous. Also he's not really able to fight in this form besides clawing at them, and if they were to hit him in cat form it would cause more damage. Also for some reason he is easily distracted as a cat. Human form: He uses a lot of agility and sometimes stamina in his cat form (with running and jumping etc.), making him more tired with less stamina and or agility depending on what he does in his cat form. (Got to think or more unless this is enough )
SPECIAL TECHNIQUE:

Persona- On the outside he can act like the calmest kindest person. But on the inside his something far different, if someone where to insult him he would probably just smile and walk away but be thinking of how to assassinate them later. He can grow impatient in tight spaces and usually want's to avoid confrontation. But if confronted will not hesitate to fight one bit! He's...strange you could say, he does get mad sometimes but that's if someone is doing something stupid or annoying continually.

NAME: Kira Nakamura
GENDER: Female
AGE: 15
REGULAR APPEARANCE: This intimidating lady has slanted white eyes that are like two spheres of alabaster. Her luxurious, straight, very short hair is the color of burnished iron, and is worn in an attractive, precise style She is short and has a slender build. Her skin is brown. She has small hands.
MARTIAL ARTS STYLE: Ninjitsu
SPECIAL TECHNIQUE: Bitter Palm of the Fighter, Oblivion Sweep
CURSE: Nannīchuan - Spring of Drowned Man
CURSE APPEARANCE: This guy makes you think of a dangerous weapon. He has slitted blue eyes. His thick, curly, white hair is worn in a style that reminds you of a mysterious mask. He is tall and has a broad-shouldered build. His skin is cream-colored. He has small hands. His wardrobe is businesslike and strange, with a lot of black.
BIO/PERSONALITY: When he discovered his young wife was pregnant, a very boastful Gorou told his clan and friends he would have a son - and making many very expensive bets.

Gorou was sent on a mission to China and brought Akemi with him. Only the place he was going towards was very remote, and the journey was very hard on her. On the map was marked a curious training ground near his target, Jusenkyo, so they decided to stop there. Gorou was surprised to find the training ground was surprisingly vacant, but the Guide was very friendly and agreed to watch after Akemi while Gorou took care of his "errand".

On his return, Gorou found Akemi had died while giving birth - to their daughter, Kira. It was an incredible shock - made worse when he realized that when he returned home, he would be bankrupt and mocked when his clan and friends found out he had a girl, and thus lost his bet with them. Not returning however was out, because then his clan would search for him.

Desperate to take his mind off of his impending doom, he got to drinking with the Guide - and learned of Jusenkyo's dark secret. And Gorou had a desperate, drunken moment of inspiration.

Taking his newborn daughter out to the springs, Gorou found Nannīchuan and poured the water on her - and it worked, turning Kira into a boy. So he returned to his clan with the sad news that his wife had died, but he had completed his missing and brought back his 'son'.

However, he discovered that when his 'son' got splashed with hot water, she turned back. Worried that someone would find out, he trained her in secret and many cold baths to "toughen him up".

Despite a few incidents, Kira's secret was safe - until she was eleven. Along with the children of other families of the clan, she in her 'boy' form was presented for evaluations that would decide her placement in the clan. Kira was an excellent fighter, defeating all who apposed her - until an angry opponent threw hot tea at her. She changed in front of the entire clan - and one of the watching clan leaders leaned forward and whispered, "Jusenkyo".

Gorou was taken prisoner and Kira found herself being discussed by the clan elders and the women trainers. Once again she caught whispers of "Jusenkyo" being passed around, and if this was the revenge of the "Old Woman". When they started talking about Kira as "the girl", she could not contain herself and leapt to her feet, insisting that she was a boy, not a girl. There was an exchange of looks, then the clan leaders summoned everyone together. Gorou was to be executed - and Kira was thrown out, still in her girl form.

Eventually Kira managed to make her way to Jusenkyo - not seeking a cure, but a way to make the change permanent.

My request is that you add your Weaknesses, Strengths [things I may have edited into the CS before you made it - I apologize for that if so], and unless you're ok giving me artistic liberty on what's not stated, more detail in the Appearance sections [reference pictures would be wonderful...again, only if you're not giving me artistic liberty].

My question: Should we refer to your character as he then, since they seem to wish to be a boy? I just want to make sure I get the pronouns right, or I'll otherwise be using my odd ze and hir ones.

Otherwise, your character has been accepted and I'll be adding what you have into Character Slot #1, editing the things I requested you add later as well

UPDATE: The only change I made was that I edited the gender to say female/male. If you'd rather, I can change it back to female or I can change it to male depending on what your character's preferred gender is [I'm assuming male].

those weren't there before. You want her martial arts strengths and weaknesses? I'll have to work on that. One possible weakness would be that she trained almost exclusively in her boy mode - the change in her center of gravity, body mass, etc. - she fights with a penalty while she's in girl mode. How many strengths and weaknesses do you want? Are you looking for something like Ranma's fear of cats?

Kira is a girl who thinks she's a boy - it's how she was raised. As she starts off by showing up in her cursed form as a boy, it's probably easier to call Kira "Him" etc
