Spoiler: RPA Exstravaganza 2015
These are all my entry's for that contest and I'll state wither they won or not.Spoiler: 4th Annual Writer's Marathon
I got first place as a runner!Spoiler: Day 1 - Far awayInsa stared out the car window, counting the buildings they passed, Or at least trying to. They flashed by so fast she soon lost count and gave up. Home was so far away now, even just driving to the airport, She was so far away. Sighing she pulled her eyes away from the window and looked down at the ticket on her lap. She’d made up her mind a long time ago, she was going, and she was! But now, actually taking the steps. there was no going back now, she had to go through with it, even if it took her so far away from home, Going to college would give her opportunities for greater things, She’d be able to move on! to help her parents and give back to them all the times they had given to her.
“Cheer up honey.” Her mother said quietly smiling back at her. “You’ll do fine, it might just take a little time to get used to being away from home.”
“No kidding.” She replied softly looking to her father who simply offered her an encouraging smile.
When the car finally stopped and it was time to get out Insa helped pull all her luggage out, Maybe she shouldn’t have brought so much. Just before she had to board the plain she threw her arms around her parents, giving each of them a hug, seeking more comfort as well as a heartfelt thanks for all they had ever done for her.
“We’ll miss you dear, But when you come home I expect you to be smiling from your accomplishments.” Her father told her with a warm smile.
“I will.” She promised. Waving to them one last time she boarded the plane trying to keep her breath steady as she looked for an empty seat in which she’d ride in for the next few hours.
Spoiler: Day two - There's lint on it =/I stretched slowly over the bed allowing my arms to hang over the edges and close my eyes again despite the sunlight filtering in through the blinds, It didn’t last. I let out a long sigh as my phone vibrated and reached over lazily. It was a saturday, Rick better have a good reason for texting me so early.
“Gmorning!”
“Its Saturday, Wat do u want?”
“Talk to my besty? <3”
I stared at my phone screen for a long moment before dropping it on the bed and pushing my face back into the pillow. The phone Vibrated again a minute later, and then again after that and a third time before I picked it up again.
“Sory, did I wake u?”
“Bell?”
“Did you fall back aslep?”
“I was trying to.” I responded grumpily and quickly added a “>:/”
“Sowwe.”
“Sure you are…” I muttered dropping the phone back on the bed and turning over. Honestly Rick was like a big kid always needing attention. I’d finally started drifting back off when my phone vibrated once again.
“Ugh!” I pulled the pillow over my head and squeezed my eyes shut, to no avail it vibrated again and I could feel it through the bed.
Tossing the pillow to the floor and set up. at this rate I was not getting back to sleep so I might as well get up and get dressed and on my way.
“So… what do you plan on doing?”
I decided to just send back another grumpy face before climbing out of bed and dragging a pair of pants out of my drawers and then a bra and a shirt. Ignoring the vibration signaling he’d texted back until I’d brushed and done up my hair.
“I’m just… doing laundry. But hey I could take u out to lunch 2day if you like… to make it up to u.”
I set for a long moment reading this over. “Sure… why not.” I muttered before texting back. “Where 2?” I waited for a long moment, an unusually long moment before I got a message back.
“I dropped my gum :c”
“Right in the lint basket.”
“There's lint on it =/”
I sighed rubbing my forehead. “I’ve got a pack I’ll give it 2 u at lunch.”
“Thanks! ”
Spoiler: Day 3 - MustangRony looked up as a young women set beside him. She looked nervous as she placed her small hand back in her lap and glanced around the interior of the plane. He wondered for a moment if he should say high or something. She was cute, her nervousness made her even more so, at least that was how he saw it.
Rony finely shifted to sit up straighter. She seemed to stiffen a moment before looking at him. He came her a lopsided smile. “First time flying?” She nodded mutely. “Don’t worry, the possibility of anything bad happening is very small.” He assured her. He held out his hand to her. “My names Rony, what’s yours?”
She fidgeted for a moment. “Don’t laugh.”
“Why would I?”
She simply frowned at him before taking his hand. “Insa.”
He paused for a moment Mulling over any jokes that might have popped out before smiling. “That’s a nice name.” Again she frowned at him as if unsure he meant that or not.
“Look My names kind of funny to.” He said honestly. “Its a nice name your parents had good taste.” This time she smiled, a pretty little white flash.
Somehow their small conversation turned into one long ever changing conversation through the hours of the flight. But he found himself immensely enjoying it.
“I want a Black mustang with white wall tires.” He said sitting back imagining the car.
“How do you plan on affording that?” she asked laughing softly.
“I don’t know how do you plan on affording a Corvette?”
“True.” She responded before leaning back in her seat with a sigh.
“So… where are you heading to anyways?” He asked finely. “We’ve been this talking this whole time but I still don’t know where you're going.”
“Collage.” she said running a hand through her hair. “I’m going to Lone ranger College.”
“What?” He said sitting up again to face her. “Me too!” they stared for a moment before a smile spread over her lips a full board smile.
Spoiler: Day 4 - 10,000Insa set quietly in her seat, Looking over the form she had to fill out before she was officially in. Her Gut was knotted up, there were so many options! so many things she wanted to try, to do but she only had so much time.
And there was Rony, Already turning in his paper giving her that encouraging and 10,000% cool smile. She’d only just met him but he, He had to be the nicest boy she’d ever met. She was pretty sure that they were going to be good friends for a long time.
She looked back down at her paper with a long frown. Art, There were so many forms of art, each one had its own unique way of expressing one’s self. Fidgeting she slowly marked down the art categories one by one, all of which she wanted to take. There was just the broad term ‘Art’ which included pens, pencils, paint brushes, charcoal and all manner of hand held ‘sticks’ in which to draw with.
Then there was clayworks and sculpting. Insa had never had a problem getting herself a mess when working on something truly inspiring, at least to her.
Finally there was Music. She was Shy to pick this one, while she could play and play well so her parents said. She had never taken classes her aunt used to tell her she was a natural before she passed away.
It was settled, With that part filled out she made sure everything else was correct and filled out properly before standing and handing the form in.
She let out a soft sigh as she left. Rony smiled as he pushed away from the wall and held his hand out to her, which she gladly took.
Spoiler: Day 5 - Music“So what classes did you pick?” Rony asked pulling Insa’s hand between his arm in a gentlemanly fashion making the young women blush.
“Well the core classes of coarse.” She said nervously. “I took art and sculpting…” She paused for a moment. “A-and Music.” She looked down as she spoke.
Rony found himself laughing. “An artist? And a musician? You must be something.”
“N-not really.” She managed looking down again.
“Don’t be so modest, its okay to brag a little.”
“There’s nothing to brag about!” She insisted. “I just like many forms of art and I want to try a music class this year.”
He grinned down at her. “I can’t wait to see what you’ll do.”
“So…” She asked after a short silence. “What did you chose?”
He rubbed the side of his head in thought. “Well, Music.” He replied with a smile. “Photography and Business.”
“Is that what you really want to be?” She asked.
He found himself shrugging. “You know I’ve never really thought about it, I’ve never really found anything that interests me.” He admitted. “There’s so many choices, I figured I’d just follow after my father with a few of my own twists.”
She studied him for a long moment as they turned into the cafeteria. “Will that make you happy?” She asked.
Rony paused for a long moment. “No.” He said simply and met her eyes.
“Why would you chose something that doesn't make you happy?”
Rony didn’t have an answer for this and was quite as they got their food and set down. “Perhaps.” He said finely. “I will experiment with other possibilities.” She smiled in his direction a smile that wished him luck.
Spoiler: Day 6 - Walking in the rainInsa glanced out the school window. The sky was dark and gloomy, but for her it was inviting and even homely. She leaned on her hand as the teacher droned on about the history of such and such a place. She wondered what Rony was doing right now and what he thought about the Sky.
She glanced back up at the teacher as she started calling out names. She made sure to pay attention to the answers so she understood the question before writing down a few notes. It was almost time for this class to end, It only been half a day but she was already feeling homesick again.
She let out a slow sigh before glancing out the window again. Her roommates were nice enough, had helped her move in and settle down before buying her dinner. She planned to return the favor soon by cooking them a traditional family dinner from her mother's own recipe book she memorized. She wanted to see Rony and ask how he was settling in, hopefully she’d catch him in the hall for lunch.
“Alright class.” The teacher said finally setting down her piece of chalk.
“Remember to reach chapter two and I want a page essay on its contents.”
Closing her book softly after marking the page with a slip of paper she slipped it into her side bag and slung it over her shoulder before filing out of the room after the others. Her pottery and sculpting class was the last of the day, something to look forward to, but first she needed some food.
“So how was your first day?” Rony asked coming up beside her suddenly in the crowded hall.
“It was fine.”
“Just fine?” He asked weaving past a group of people before rejoining her.
“I’m sure it will get better..” she said. “I’m just… home sick.”
“Oh.” Rony said quietly as they reached the end of the hall and pushed open the doors to the outside path to the lunch room. they both paused.
“Its raining…” Insa said quietly before looking at Rony who was watching with some awe. “Haven't you seen rain?”
He shook his head. “NoI lived in a desert, this is… new.”
Insa blinked at him. Never seen rain! surely it rained in the desert sometimes how else did they get water? Finally she took his book and shoved it into her backpack before he could protest then took his hand and dragged him out into the rain.walking in the rain made her feel better and she could only smile at Rony’s wondering smile as he caught a few droplets in his hand.
Spoiler: Day 7 - Well,Well,WellRony looked down at Insa’s smile, She looked a little less nervous and home sick now, maybe it had to do with the rain. He hadn’t been lying when he said he hadn’t seen rain, at least never in real life.
“What?” He asked as she laughed.
“You… you just…. you look cute with your hair wet.”
“I-i do?” He found himself asking and touched his wet hair while she laughed again before drawing him under the protection of the Cafeteria doorway.
“Of course.” She said before slipping her bag off and pulling out his books and offering them back to him.
“T-thanks.” He took back his books before looking into the Cafeteria. “Do you smell that?”
“Mmm, Smells good huh?”
“It sure does, come on lets get inline before its all gone.” He said setting his books down next to her bag and heading into line with her. They were quietly anticipating their food when an unwelcome voice barged into their quite bubble.
“Well, well, well.” It started as Rony turned to face the voice. That winning smile, short liquor brown hair and intoxicating green eyes. He staggered as a strong arm fell around his neck. “Looks like my little brother finely made it.
“Get off me Ronson.” He grumbled pushing his arm away.
“And who’s this? Got yourself a pretty girl to?”
“Oh…” Insa said startled. “N-no we just met, we are just friends.”
“Aww, how sweet, Rony. Just friends.”
“Shouldn’t you be in the back of the line?” Rony asked but once again his brother ignored him as he took Insa’s hand and Kissed her knuckles in that old fashioned way. Rony grimaced before snatching his brothers hand away. “You know you should really stop forcing your way on women.” He said dropping his brothers hand quickly. “She doesn't want your attention now get in the back of the line.”
Ronson tiskes slightly but smiled and winked at Insa. “We can talk later.” He grinned as she flushed before making his way down the line and to the back where his friends were waiting.
“Are… are you alright Rony?” Insa asked after a moment making his shrug as he tried to calm himself.
“Ya, I’m just fine Insa, My brother… don’t mind him he’s just like that… a sweet talker.”
“I noticed…” She said quietly.
Rony sighed before smiling back at her. “Come on it’s our turn to get our food.”
Spoiler: Day 8 - footprintsThe scurrying of small paws over the dirty floor, Like small marching feet in joined by a chorus of squeaks, leaving a long trail of footprints behind them. The unnatural events that followed Left the world scarred, not only by war but by famine and hunger. The rain stopped coming and the clouds never went away.
Our world as we had known it was gone. What caused the endless darkness? what caused the drought, no one knew or those who had vanished long ago. War never ended, it just grew to a smaller and smaller scale, Brothers turned on brothers, sister on sisters and father on family.
Starvation drove the worst of men and the best of men to dine like savages. Was it the will of the Gods? was it our fault? No one could truly answer the questions to the dying people but no one praised the heavens those days, there was nothing but mournful crying and curses in the darkness.
I set wiht my knees to my chest, hollowed cheeks and dull eyes staring at the bodies before me, I would die soon and I accepted it. I no longer wanted to struggle in this world, I no longer wanted to live. Oblivion sounded nice after the darkness here. I slowly closed my eyes but a scuffling shifted my attention to the side. A sleek black rat peered at me for a long moment before it scurried away. The only things that survived here were the things willing to eat what was presented to them.
I closed my eyes and let the darkness come but just as I thought I would slip away forever I felt little paws on my leg. Upon opening my eyes I meet the dark eyes of the rat as it set on its haunches. It was carrying a piece of stale bread and to my surprise it held it out as if offering it to me.
Not knowing what else to do I took it, its crackled between my weak hands as the rat settled back and watched me with an intelligence that startled my tired mind. I don’t know what happened but I found myself opening my eyes again, the beard was gone and I felt stronger the rat still watching me with keen eyes as I tried to stand. I found that I was shorter and looking at myself I could see why. Small paws replaced my hands and sleek brown fur covered my small body.
“Come.” Said the rat suddenly. “Follow in my footsteps child, there is much to do. and much for you to learn.” I watched for a long moment as he walked away, leaving footprints in the dust to follow.
Spoiler: Day 9 - A brown llama jumping over a hill eating rainbows
Insa looked around at the landscape. She was pretty sure this was a dream. The fields were too perfect and the sun wasn’t quite right. Not that she didn’t enjoy good dreams but looking at this place she was pretty sure she must have eaten something funky.
“Okay… what's going to pop out at me this time, I sure hope this doesn't turn into another one of those anchovy nightmares…” She shuddered before walking forward through the ankle high grass. It was soft and she swore she could feel it tickling her exposed skin.
“Dreams are strange things.” She muttered as she looked around. Sometimes you know you're asleep but you just can’t do anything about it.” And then there were times where you could swear you were awake but nothing that happened was possible. She sighed and she topped one of the hills and looked out over the landscape. “W-what…”
Just in the Distance she could see a brown llama jumping over a hill and eating rainbows.
She stared in silence for a long moment until it vanished. “What the heck!? why… why. Why brown!? why couldn’t it have been white o-or teal!? and why a llama of all things?!” She didn’t receive an answer, of course why would she? there was no one else in this dream but her.
Rubbing at her face she groaned. “What did I eat? I can’t remember… Or maybe, Did I eat? I can’t remember that either.”
“Insa! Hey Insa wake up!” There was a hard pinch on her cheek before her eyes shot open.
“Ow! what was that for?!” She asked her roommate.
“Its dinner time silly, you feel asleep on your homework, again.”
“Oh… Thanks what's for Dinner?”
“Pizza I got Cheese, pepperoni and Anchovies.”
Spoiler: Day 10 - WhirlUla watched with wide eyes as Sartu’s body tumbled across the ground leaving a trail of dust. The patrymau began picking herself up blood splattered the ground as she coughed but she kept going, body trembling as she staggered to her feet her body swaying back and forth.
“She’s not going to make it…” Krillin said trembling with anger.
Ula shook her head at her friends stubbornness clutching her trembling hands to her chest. If Sartu died here… She was not strong enough to bring her back… And she’d been brought back once by the dragon balls. “Don’t die.”
The roaring laughter of the patrymau King rang through the air as he stepped up. “Your a stubborn one, I’ll give you that!” He said with a smile. “You’ve outlasted your parents by a full minute! Pride yourself! for you die now and all your people can witness it was a worthy death.”
Sartu did not answer, she simply stood there, waiting. There was no expression on her shaded face and Ula could feel Riku tens beside her.
The tiger tailed king of the patrymau charged dashing over the ground with intense speed at the girl.
“Sartu!” The tiger girl looked up just a split second before the attack hit. But the look in her eyes startled Ula, it was the look of someone who’d just pieced together the greatest puzzle and realized its meaning.
A cloud of dust exploded in front of them causing everyone to shield their eyes before suddenly it was whirled away by a sudden and intense wind.
There was Sartu, standing, a whirl wind was around her, tame but in the same instance wild beyond control. Her lips moved but Ula could not make out the sounds as all witnesses watched. Suddenly the King went sprawling across the ground, Sartu flew out her hands and another intense whirlwind forced everyone to brace themselves or be thrown back.
“Is that…?” Krillin started when they were able to look back. Sartu was bathed in light that danced powerfully around. Her hair was bright white with the striking of midnight black. Her eyes were of the purest, lightest blue Ula had ever seen.
“What is this? is this…” Riku started to ask.
“Super patrymau.”
Spoiler: Day 11 - Bass“Well look that that.” Ula said peering out the window. “Its snowing.”
“It is!?” Sartu said suddenly with her face pressed against the cold glass, her breath misting bottom half as her amber/brown eyes peered out, Her tiger striped tail flicking back and forth before she spun around. “I’m going outside!”
“Hey wait!” Ula shouted as she shut her book and started after her friend but it was way too late. The Patrymau threw open the sliding doors letting in some of the snow as she dived out into the piling snow. Sartu almost vanished under the white blanket, if it wasn’t for the obvious track left in the snow no one would have known. Like a bass under the waters surface, luckily the snow was giving and showed her entry way and where the disturbed mound was were she laid.
“Sartu?” Gohan asked peering out the door.
“Its cold!” Sartu said popping her head out from under the snow.
“Uh… S-sartu?” everyone looked back as Riku spoke, and even as he tried to hide it the amount of red on his face was unbelievable.
“Riku? are you okay?” Sartu asked tipping her head to the side. The Saiyan stiffened for a moment. “F-fine!” He yelled unnecessarily before turning and dashing out the door before any more could be said.
Sartu crawled back through the door and shook off the snow onto Gohan who covered his head. “Hey!”
“Maybe he doesn't like the cold…”
Krillin snickered. “Or maybe he was struck with how ridiculously cute you looked.”
The Patrymau tipped her head to the side with a confused look. “M-me?”
Krillin chuckled as she looked back to the door Riku had rushed out of.
Spoiler: day 12 - ForeverNaruto set up rubbing his head with an audible groan before looking around. The icy cavern stretched out around him, Lee was laying not a few feet away and starting to wake.
The Ice seemed to glow softly and curved to where he could no longer see, The rounds were curved and slick spikes of ice were scattered around the cavernous hole and as he looked up all he could see was rock and snow and ice.
“Well it looks like we aren't going out the same way we came in.”
“It appears so.” Lee agreed before looking around. “Where are the others?”
“Great, it looks like you and me are the only ones who fell in.” Naruto grumbled and readjusted his head strap as Lee stood.
“I think… you are wrong about that.” The Bushy browed kid said before pointing. Naruto's eyes widened as he looked up.
There on one of the larger protruding ice stalagmites set Myra. Her body was impaled from the back, Blood leaked down the glossy face of the ice as she hung there. She had to be dead, most certainly, she was motionless. But as they watched Myra coughed and her hands began to tremble before reaching up slowly, painfully, and gripped onto the point that was protruding from her stomach.
The girl began to murmur, words of power, words that echoed off the icy walls. Suddenly the ice turned into water, pouring down and splashing before almost instantly freezing again as Myra hit the ground with a strangled gasp of pain. The opening in her middled began to bleed, forming a cold puddled of blood in seconds as she coughed.
“Myra!” Lee was the first by her side followed by Naruto, It didn’t take them long to bind her wound tightly but it soaked quickly with blood before she quailed it with another spell, freezing her bindings with a thin but crisp layer of ice.
She let out a slow breath as they leaned her up against the side of the cavern moving her anymore would be fruitless.
“How did… you survive?” Lee found himself asking and to his surprise Myra had enough strength to smile cooly. Her mismatched eyes full of mirth despite their pain.
“That would have killed me, yes. Had I had a full heart that was mine.” She said before closing her eyes to the boys surprised faces. “Lock and I… we… we share a heart, we are inseparably bonded, I cannot die as long as he is alive.” She frowned though and shifted stiffening in pain before relaxing. “But with a price, his pain is mine and mine his…” She opened her eyes before smiling at them again.
“What dose that make you? Immortal?” Naruto asked.
“Heh, not quite but almost.” She said. “But it ensures that we will be together.. forever..”
Spoiler: Day 13 - Borealis“Hum… Paris!”
“Really?” Insa asked her blond haired friend who nodded with a grin. “Sounds romantic huh?”
“Ya.” The other girl agreed. “I’d like to go see the the Greek and Roman ruins…” Mazy said quietly.
“Oh ya?” Insa leaned back after a moment before her friends looked at her.
“What about you? Is there anything you’d like to see?”
“Oh sure.” She started, tapping a pencil against her lips. “I want to see the Aurora Borealis, I want to go to the great white plains of Antarctica, if only for a little while.” She said and smiled. “I’d love to visit Egypt and Rome.” She looked up to her friends who listened with interest.
“But out of all of those I most want the see the dancing lights of the Borealis.”
“Wow, that would be a neat thing to see.” Cathy sighed.
“You know, I think it be a great place to have a first kiss, wouldn’t that be so… dreamy?”
“I… guess.” Insa said slowly. “I’ve never really thought about a first kiss.”
“What really?”
“Well… I never really had time.” Insa said sinking down under her friends unbelieving stares. “I’ve always been so focused on other things...”
“No way, no time for daydreaming? you must be the strictest loneliest girl I know.”
“I’m not lonely! I have freinds.. I just… I never thought of any of them past friendship, I’m not ready for a relationship yet, I want to make sure I can take care of us both or at least myself before I depend on someone else.”
Her friends looked at eachother. “I guess, but you need to loosen up just a tad, have some daydreams and dream about what you want in your future instead of just waiting for it to happen..”
“Ya…” Mazy said with a smile. “I’m sure you’ll find a good guy, you're too cute not to be picked up by a dependable man.”
Insa found herself blushing as the first guy who popped into mind was Rony! Of course that was the only boy she knew at this school.. Or at least hung out with a lot.
“Got someone in mind already?” Cathy asked with a grin.
“N-no, no!” Insa replied and buried her face in her book. “I-i’ve really got to get this done guys.”
“Suit yourself Insa.” Mazy chuckled before getting up to leave her friends to study.
Spoiler: Day 14 - EndearingKevis tisked softly through the rain, dropping his cloak over Roxana’s head gently and moving up to stand in front of the group with his black halberd at his side. “Take the Lady Roxana to the closest shelter, we wouldn’t want our endearing mouse to get cold from the rain.” The mercenary peered over his shoulder with a smile, a flash of lightning making his green eyes glow for an instant.
“B-but Kevis!” Roxana started to protest but the merc simply shook his head.
“My lady you only have one battle to look forward to, leave the rest to us.” He smirked before turning to the large group of dark elves in front of them. “I’ll meet up with you later.” He promised before walking forward again.
“He’s right.” Jo said. “Go on, I’ll give him some support.” The Paladin said. “I’ll see that no one follows you, now go!”
Gypsy took Roxana’s hand as Aellna began to lead the way around the group, some of the dark elves moved as if to intercept them but where met by a wall of light and shown through the pouring rain.
“Ah, your fight is here with us.” Jo said drawing her sword and readying her shield.
“There’s just two of you against twelve of us! you won't give your friends enough time to get away from us.”
“We wont have to.” Kevis said simply stabbing his halberd into the wet earth. “Because none of you are leaving here alive…” This seemed to take the fallen back, Kevis spoke with much confidence as he tightened his gloves.
The first elf charged followed by the others, Kevis took it all in stride, yanking up his halberd to meet the oncoming wave.
Spoiler: day 15 Back on track“Its time to get back on track.” Moses said over his shoulder as he tightened his crossbow strap.
Catherine simply moaned softly before slowly picking herself up. It been months since they left the hotel after the incident with the tanks. She was just strong enough to walk on her own for a while, but even then she felt like a burden to the group though Moses and Kit insisted that she was no such thing.
“I suggest we go through the school and take a look at what's going on behind it, there may yet be a few supplies in there.” Cleo said.
“If thats true I’d really like to take a look at their lab room, there might be some materials in there that would come in handy.”
“A lab room?” Moses asked looking back at her. “What kind of materials?”
“Chemicals.” Catherine replied. “If any are still any good I may be able to make something that can ward off infections or other helpful remedies.”
“Do you remember any?”
“Some…” Cat found herself saying hesitantly. “Maybe.”
“Maybe is not good enough.” Moses said shaking his head ready to move on before Cat caught onto his shirt sleeve.
“Moses! I can do this and there isn’t much I can do but I can do this!” She insisted. “I know I can make something that will help us, even if just a little bit.”
He looked back at her for a long moment before glancing at the other two girls and finally back at her. “Fine, we’ll take a look if you think of anything you can make with what’s there then we’ll take it but only if you know what you can do with it.”
She nodded. “Thats all I’m asking.” She said quietly before letting go of him and letting him lead the way.
Spoiler: day 16 - Thunder clapsKevis wiped away the blood on his halberd before turning to Jo. “How are you holding up?”
“Oh this is nothing.” The paladin said with a grin as she wiped her blade on the tunic of one of the fallen bodies.
Kevis nodded before glancing up at the sky as the wind whipped the rain around. “The storms getting worse.” His voice was almost lost over the thunderclaps. “We should go!”
The Mercenary and the Paladin took off into the forest for some cover as they tried to track where the rest of their group had gone off to.
“I sure hope they found good shelter!” Jo called to which the merc nodded as they dashed through the rain.
“It looks bad out there.” Gypsy said worriedly as she watched the downpour. “I hope Kevis and Jo are alright.”
“They’ll be fine.” Aellna said calmly arms crossed as she stood near the back.
“We are fine.” Kevis said ducking through the entrance in a hurry with Jo behind her. “Just soaking wet.”
“Jo! Kevis!” Gypsy jumping up to check over the two for injuries.
“Thats some really cold rain!” Jo said wincing at a particularly loud thunder clap. “That storms practically on top of us.”
“Ya.” Redrick agreed with a frown. “And I don’t think its going to let up for a while, we're stuck here for the night and maybe a day.”
“How do you know?” Forbes asked with a frown.
“I’ve seen storms like this before.” The old soldier said simply leaning back with his wife. “We’ll have to wait it out.”
“Right.” Aellna said. “Everyone settled down for a long rest then, I’ll keep watch first.”
Spoiler: Day 17 - what’s in the attic???Kevis took in the sight of the old temple, slinging his halberd over his shoulder. Carved out of the side of the mountain it toward over the three, the craftsmanship was old and withered from years of neglect and weather.
“I-is is safe?” Roxana squeaked behind her as she clutched the champions sword in her hands.
“Its an old dark elf worshiping sight, Its abandoned now the most you’ll find is spiders.” He assured her before smiling over his shoulder. “See that window at the top? were going to the attic to stay.”
“T-the attic?”
“What’s in the Attic?” Forbes asked with a deep frown.
“Soon, just us.”
Kevis brushed another web out of the way as he made his way up the spiraling stairs as he made a path through the dust for Roxana to follow with Forbes taking up the rear.
“Hey, Kevis. How did you know about this place?”
Kevis was silent for a long time as he kept walking.
“I demand an answer.” Forbes growled before Kevis turned to him, looking over Roxana’s head.
“These are my homelands Wingguardian, My tribe is the Kings fang. That is until I left.”
Forbes began to draw his sword but held Kevis’s gaze. “So what was the plan?”
“Plan? you think I have a reason to betray you? to return to where I was treated like a trained dog?” Kevis snorted before looking at Roxana who cowered between the two men. “No, I left for a reason and the only intention I have for returning is seeing My lady through with her mission and safely back.” Kevis said flatly before turning and starting up the stairs again. “As it stands, you need me now since I know this place so well you’ll never find the others if you just wander alone.”
Kevis reached the top and pushed the trap door open sending up a spray of dust as it hit the floor. Tossing his halberd up he heaved himself up and took a look at the loft. Once he decided it was safe he kneeled down and offered his hand to Roxana who hesitated a moment before looking up and meeting his eyes. “Do you still trust me?” He asked quietly. He watched calmly as she thought before nodding and taking his hand.
Spoiler: day 18 - AutocorrectInsa sighed heavily and set back.
“What is it?” Mazy asked as she shut the door behind her and hefted the grocery bags again for a better grip.
“This stupid Autocorrect.” She sighed as she got up and came over to her friend taking one of the bags. “I had to go through my entire essay, again, just to fit all of the corrections the autocorrect made. AND they were ALL wrong.”
“That sucks, Wish I could take it off too, been through the same thing.”
Insa sighed again and set the bags on the small kitchen counter. “So whats for dinner?”
“Hot dogs or corndogs.” Mazy said pulling out the buns while Insa pulled out the corndog box.
“Sounds good, did you get Catchup?”
“I thought we already had some?”
“Nope, Cathy used that all up last week.”
“Well…” Insa started and opened the fridge. “We have catchup packets from our last night out.”
“That should do, unless we all plan on eating a lot.”
“Well Cathy’s not going to be here tonight, not for dinner anyways. Mark took her out on a group date with a few other friends.”
“Oh?”
Insa nodded as she pulled out the packets and put them on the counter before helping put the rest of the stuff away.
“You should get Rony to take you out on a date.” Mazy said with a smile.
Insa found herself blushing. “I’m sure he’s too busy with his studies.”
“And wrestling with that Autocorrect.” Mazy said with a wink.
Spoiler: day 19 - Barbeque“So, they have campas Barbeques?”
“Apparently.” Rony said with a smile. “Students are allowed to attend for half price, anyone outside of school pays full.”
“So its like a Fundraiser?” Insa asked looked over at Rony as he looked over the paplet.
“Something like that.” He replied. “What do you think then? want to go?” He asked suddenly looking over at her.
“I’m not sure…” She hesitated. “I don’t think I have the money to spend-”
“Don’t worry about that, its my treat.” He said smiling. “I’ll pay for an all you can eat!”
“A-are you sure?” Insa said stopping in her tracks staring as he took a few more steps before turning to her.
“Ya! Of course I am.” He held out his hand to her with another grin. “I insist.”
“Wow.” Insa said slowly looking over the line of grills. “Its a really big thing here isn’t it?”
“Sure is.” Rony replied looking a little surprised himself as they walked up to the check in both. “It looks like they have different styles, flavors and meats.”
“Mmmm.” Insa found herself taking in the aroma as Rony payed. “What should we try first then?”
“Hum, how about a hot dog?” Rony suggested. “Looks like there are different kinds down there.”
“Mmm bratwurst?” Insa asked to witch Rony smiled and lead the way.
They moved down the line or row and row of grills, picking out what looked the most inviting. Rony got a hot dog, two different kinds of hamburgers and then a steak.
Insa followed suit by grabbing a bratwurst, a hamburger and shish kabob.
“So…” Rony asked as they took a seat on the grass. “Would this count as our first date?”
“F-first date?” Insa asked almost coughing up what she just swallowed only for Rony to chuckle. “You don’t have to answer that, just enjoy your food.”
Spoiler: day 20 - airlines“Well this is a drag.” Rony mumbled looking out the window. “A field trip, but we have to take a plane to get there?”
“It shouldn’t be to bad.” Insa said pushing her bags into the storage above their head before sitting down beside him. “It is the express airlines.” She looked out the window. “Looks like the last of the school’s boarding the other plane.”
“Goody.” Randy said rolling his eyes.
“What's wrong?” Insa asked. “You weren't this upset on our last flight together.”
“Ya…” He sighed before looking at her. “But my brother wasn’t coming along on that one.”
“Well, I hear there will be a lot to do, I doubt he’ll be with us much if at all.”
“Hum… with my luck he’ll be the senior leader of our group…”
“Hey, hey!” Rony moaned as his brother peered over their seats with a grin, which was mostly focused on Insa. “I’m going to be your guide when we reach the hiking and camping trail!”
‘I told you’ Rony mouthed at Insa who tried to offer him a smile before Ronson leaned further in blocking their view.
“Just remember that boys and girl will be sleeping in different tents.”
Rony shoved his brother back. “Thank you Ronson! the same goes for you!”
Ranson sniggerd as Rony turned back around and crossed his arms over his chest tightly before glancing at Insa, who’d looked away with a red face.
“W-what?”
“I-its nothing.” Insa said and managed a nervous smile at him. “I-i was just wondering if it would rain…”
Spoiler: Day 21 - The beastKevis watched through the bars as the two fought, claws tearing, teeth rending and blood splattering the already brown, soiled dirt floor. Yes he remembered this all too well, he remembered being one of those fighter, he remembered being the victor and staring down at the lifeless body of a man he’d torn apart in another form.
The beast remembered it all to well, The metallic taste of blood, the feeling of flesh tearing beneath its fangs. The beatings, the cruelty the injustice and most of all the loneliness. Yes the beast remembered all this with him and neither of them enjoyed the sight, the spectacle before them. The roaring crowds made them wince before the match was ended.
“Your up bitter.” one man said spitting at the edge of the cage. “Try not to leave too big of a mess for me to clean up.”
Kevis didn’t say a word as he rose from the ground, his bronze tinted body already ready for the fight. As he stepped out into the pit fur sprouted from his spine and covered his body until he was a towering mass of thick furred muscle. Licking his lips before drawing them back in a snarl at the opposing werewolf who laid back his gray furred ears and snarled a challenge of his own.
Both beasts collided, like fighting dogs, Jaws snapping and bodies wrestling for the upper hand. Anything went in these fights, there was no honor and no laws in the pits.
The fighters broke apart, one with a pained howl as his ear was ripped from his head, fresh blood fouling the air as Kevis spat the part out onto the ground and growled with an unearthly sound. Around them the audience cheered wildly, cheering on for them to rip each other apart, for one of them to die.
The gray wolf dashed forward as Kevis readied himself, bracing his back paws into the dirt before catching the charging opponent with his forepaws, digging claws into stomach flesh before he lifted his attacker into the air slamming him back down on his head with a mighty crunch.
His opponent reverted back to his human form as Kevis’ hot breath was drowned out by the roar of an excited crowd. He raised his face to the ceiling, what should have been an open sky and let out a piercing howl, most would have taken it as a victory howl but it was actually one of misery and shame.
Spoiler: Day 22 - FlickKevis’s flank twitched as the woman's finger flicked the tip of his thick brown fur.
“He has a beautiful coat.” The women murmured walking around him. “It be much nicer if he was clean.”
“He’s been in the pit it can’t be helped.” Forbes said with a shrug as he crossed his arms.
“Hum, how many fights as he won?”
“Since arrived? three, in a row.” Aellan said. “Before that sixteen.”
“Seventeen.” Forbes corrected.
Kevis only rolled his eyes as he remained standing where he was, on display for this potential buyer. Of course Aellna and Forbes had no intention of selling him or letting anyone borrow him.
He tensed as he felt her fingers flick through his fur again and gave a little growl to which she smiled. “He’s not very friendly is he?”
“Probably not.” Forbes answered easily. “But he’s easy to handle.” He looked up eyeing the women for a moment. “Does the fur really matter on a fighter?”
“Oh you don’t normally see such a fine color on a pit fighter.” the women chuckled, a sound that made the fur along his spine rise before she continued. “I have a collection of living specimens kept in the finest conditions.”
“And what happens when they die?” Aellna asked calmly.
“They become immortalized.” The women said looking back to Kevis with a grin as she ran her hand through his chest fur. “Skinned and stuff, forever living in stillness.”
“I’d love to buy him…”
“That’s out of the question.”
The women pressed her lips together in thought. “I have a female with a beautiful coat as well.” The women finally turned on her heels to face his ‘masters’. “Would you be willing to let me borrow him for breeding? I’ll pay you handsomely.”
Forbes and Aellna looked at each other having a silent conversation about how to deal with this as Kevi’s waited.
Spoiler: day 23 - ChargeEvery body stiffened in the room as the little girls body tumbled across the floor. Nobody stiffened and made as if to go out to her but a hand stopped him, Ebony and Zef had entered the room, Both looking serious.
“You can’t go out to her…” Ebony said quietly.
“I’m not going to just let your sister beat the livin hell out of her!”
“Be still.” Zef said, his voice startling the younger redhaired elf. “Look.”
Illian was pushing herself up, her small body trembling much like it had when he’d first hit her, the day he’d found out that she was a princess.
“Can you feel it? the tension in the room?” Ebony asked quietly, her book was closed in front of her as her eyes rested on her sister. “That’s the slaves, willing her to fight back and its filling her with that spirit…”
“What…?”
Viessa started to charge at her younger sister, all intent to finish her, to break her and make her less than she already was.
Suddenly wind whipped through Nobody’s hair, blowing through the ranks of slaves watching and Illian was gone leaving Viessa’s attack hitting nothing but air, the elder princess’s eyes widened in shock.
“You cannot harm the wind…” Illian’s voice said drawing eyes to the opposite side of the room where the small girl seemed to materialize from the air, her short blue dress stirring around her knees by an unseen force. “But it can harm you.” Her voice stronger then Nobody had ever heard it before. What was this?
“Illian can feel every emotion that lingers in this castle, She can feel the slaves willing her on to fight back, she can feel their pain and suffering their hopelessness.” Ebony spoke drawing Nobody’s eyes to the black haired princess. “It affects her, almost like it controls her…”
Viessa screamed in outrage before charging again only to be blasted back by a forceful wind that touched no one else but her, she was attacked by unseen blades as wind whipped around her in deadly force. However before it could finish off the women it died down leaving Viessa trembling on the floor while Illan collapsed to her knees, Nobody quick to be at her side.
Spoiler: day 24 - TimeElizabeth sighed in aggravation before turning around to meet the boy that was trying to catch up to her. “Will you stop following me?! Just because I helped you back there doesn't mean we are best friends now!”
He seemed taken back at her hostility. “Okay.” He said putting up his hands.
“Now leave me alone.” She said turning to make off again but he was in front of her faster then should have been possible.
“Wait! Okay, just give me a moment. Obviously your not very friendly but I still need your help.”
“Pfft.” she said pushing past him. “I’m late already, Go find someone else to help you.”
“Will anyone else?”
Elizabeth paused in her steps before sighing and turning around. “Fine!” She growled grabbing his hand and yanking him back the way they had come. “Just, try not to draw attention to yourself.” She said.
The boy said nothing but seemed relived. He was dressed in what might have been perceived as old fashioned, but many of the tools hanging from his belts proved him to be only one thing, A hunter. Not just any hunter… a monster hunter.
Her mother had always told her that they were of another world, They weren't human, at least her mother wasn’t. If she were to help this monster hunter further she was going to have to be careful.
“Now just wait here for me.” She said opening the door to a small abandoned apartment and pushing him in.
“Wait for you!?”
She pulled off her watch and tapped it. “When this needle points to this number it will be time for me to come get you, don’t leave until then.”
“But-”
“Wait till I come back then we’ll have all the time in the world to chit chat.” She shut the door in his face before he could argue further before hurrying off the school. She was late and surly her mother would hear about this… but was it safe to tell her that she had helped a monster hunter?
Spoiler: day 25 - #“Come on, come on!” Elizabeth hissed watching the clock tick away slowly. She had to watch the class room clock since she gave the monster hunter her watch. Why was there such a young monster hunter? Mother had always told her that they were only apprentices at that age.
She hopped up when the bell rang, snatching up her books and was out of the classroom before anyone else was even out of their seats. That could have been a mistake but she had to get to the front desk and get to the phone. She was probably going to be home late and she needed to let her mom know not to worry.
Picking the up the phone in the corner of the office that was designated for the kids use she smashed the numbers in before waiting for the call to go through.
“Allisa Cornfell is unavailable right now please leave a message, for other options please press #”
“Ugh!” She listened to the beep before she started talking quickly. “Hey mom, I’m going to be a little late, S-someone asked me for some help on homework. So don’t worry I’ll be home before dinner, promise.” She slammed the phone down, making the women behind the desk jump before she sped off, flinging open the doors.”Please don’t be stupid and still be there.” She muttered under her breath.
She was panting when she finally reached the abandoned apartment, though if anyone had kept track of how far she ran they might have tried convincing her to go through a marathon. She pushed open the door slowly in time to see the boy jump up ready to defend himself.
“Good.” She sighed. “You staid.” She took her watch from him when he offered it and slipping it back onto her wrist. “Alright, come with me I’ll tell you everything you need to know. Then you're on your own.”
Spoiler: Day 26 - Scales“Alright.” Roan said leading Levi onto the large scales, most of the time used to weight elephants or very large mythical creatures in their case.
“That’s incredible, he’s growing for certain but gaining hardly any weight in comparison.” Dr. Gabriel said adjusting his glasses before offering Levi a bit of clay. The green wolf lapped up the piece like it was a dog treat, which to him would compare.
“Really?” Roan said before thinking. “Well he is a plant and plants don’t weight an awful lot on their own.” He said thoughtfully to which the doctor nodded.
“But he is a great mass of plants and there’s a lot we still don’t know about him.”
Roan nodded before patting the large grassy flank of the wolf before he started to help the doctor put away the equipment and and give the information to Raven.
“It makes me wonder, if Levi is the only one of his kind, but he’s a plant. It is possible that he can reproduce?”
“Hum, there are many plants known for reproducing on their own having both male and female parts…”
Roan nodded again. “But does he have that? or does he need… I don’t know a female plant?”
“That’s a good question, we’ll have to keep an eye out.”
“Maybe he’ll flower?” Roan suggested
The doctor chuckled. “That sounds reasonable, he is a plant after all.”
“Hey there you two.” Raven said as she dusted her hands off. “Got the new measurements?”
“Sure do.” Roan answered. “Take a look.” Gabriel handed her the clipboard so she could look it over.
“Great!” She said grinning at the new information. “I wish I knew more but I’m sure this will bring us one step closer to knowing more about your pet Roan.” She said before winking. “Thanks you two.”
“Any time Raven.” The two said with a smile.
Spoiler: Day 27 - TranquilInsa took in a deep breath as she emerged from the tent and stretched. The day was tranquil, at least for now. The sun was only just starting to get up but she was sure no one was ready to get up yet after yesterdays workout.
She move zipped the tent back up before walking to the quite little stream that ran just through their camp and splashed a bit of the clear water on her face. It was both cool and refreshing. The air out here was light and had a fresh, so fresh she almost believed that it wasn’t real. There was just something nice about the far outdoors where nature ruled and they were just guests.
She heard a lot of people complain about the ground, dirt, bugs and all sorts of things. And while everyone else was freaking out about a little wolf spider, she’d coxed it onto her notebook and let it go at the side of the trail. Well to be fair it was the size of a quarter…
She crouched in front of a small tree and gently touched the leaves as she examined their shape before looking at the dew drops clinging to the shrubs. A rustling in one of the tents made her look up to see Rony emerging from his tent looking like he had barely slept.
“You look great.” Insa said chuckling as he clumsily zipped the tent back up.
“Blame that on the slobs inside, If I wasn’t sleeping in the tent with them I would have been sure they brought booze.”
“That bad huh?”
Rony set down and cracked his neck before sighing. “It will get better in the week… right?”
Insa set down beside him. “Of course.”
Spoiler: day 28 - CarpetRony looked over the side of the cliff, peering down at the carpet of patchwork fields.
“Thats a long way to fall.” Ronson said patting him on the shoulder suddenly making Rony start and quickly back away from the edge.
“Don’t do that!”
Ronson simply laughed. “Keep up little brother.” He said before jogging on.
Rony huffed, shifting his backpack on his back before starting after the rest. Insa was up ahead with a group of girls, talking. About what he would only guess. He wished he could but in and talk but from previous experiences that was normally not welcome among a group of girls unless you were invited. And sometimes if you were you ended up being in the middle of an awkward conversation you shouldn’t be in.
Again he stopped and looked out to the patchwork of colors, Shades of gold, browns and greens. It looked nice a nice, natural pattern that would look comfortable on an actual carpet in a nice rural home.
“What’cha you looking at?” Insa asked suddenly from behind him making him jump a second time and stumbled back from the ledge. She chuckled as she took a hold of his arm and steadied him. “Sorry.”
“I-its fine.” He mumbled before straightening. “I was just looking at the landscape below and how… well what a nice carpet it make.”
“Oh?” Insa tentatively peered over the edge of the cliff as he watched, finding himself tens, ready to spring forward and grab her if she so much as tipped a little too much. “It is beautiful from up here isn’t it?” She said smiling back at him. “But we should catch up with the others.” she said nodding to the back of the long line of hikers.
“Ya, we should.” He agreed before they started walking together up the path after the others.
Spoiler: day 29 - MustSartu smiled and stretched as she walked outside with Riku and the others following behind her. “Boy, that sure was a fight.”
“Ya, it sure was.” Krillin agreed. “Good thing we picked you up.”
Sartu chuckled before she set down on the grass, Riku settling down near enough for her to lean against comfortably. It still seemed to make him blush every time they cuddled which made her giggle before she curled her tail around his.
The others chuckled as they saw Riku’s face turn a deeper shade of red. “Getting cozy?”
“Sure am.” Sartu said with a wink. She perked up suddenly though, her keen hearing picking up a familiar sound. “Hey.. did someone take out a time machine earlier?”
“No.. why?” Bulma asked.
“I heard one of them just land…” Looking around at the others she suddenly got up, there others quick to follow as she lead the way to where she’d heard the sound.
They stopped in front of one of the time machines, unmistakably one of theirs but… it looked like it had weathered a large storm. The door opened and out stumbled a young boy. He had a tail, a striped tail with spiky hair. He rubbed his eyes before looking up at them, his eyes first settled on her.
She was surprised when his arms were suddenly clamped around her his face buried in her shirt as he sobbed. The others looked just as surprised but his upset cries seemed to spark something inside of her and she slowly wrapped her arms around him.
“M-my name is Iram…” The boy said after he’d quieted down, he was looking at his hands in his lap as he explained the reason he’d come here before realizing that he’d come to the wrong time. “G-glacier sent me to warn you… b-but I came to the wrong time.”
“We can’t sit here.” Sartu said rubbing the boys back. “We must do something.”
“But what? we don’t really know how this all started. And from what he’s described…” Riku trailed off with a frown.
“We don’t know how it started.” Iram admitted. “But if we don’t do anything… you’ll all die a-and my sister doesn't stand a chance without help no matter how strong she and Glacier are…”
“We must…” Sartu said looking to Riku who nodded slowly.
Spoiler: day 30 - CrystalKevis looked up as three figures shaded his lonesome table. “Can I help you?” He asked before taking another swig of his drink.
“If you're looking for a job, sure.” Came a soft feminine voice before she pushed back her hood.
He studied her face before leaning back. “Well I have another potential client to meet.” He said calmly. “Stick close and I’ll let you know weather I’m free or not.”
“We don’t have time for this Shane.” One of the other figures growled but the young women didn’t seemed moved. She turned and murmured something to him quietly as he watched. “Fine.” The two figures moved off to a far table while the women looked back to him. “We’ll be close by.” It almost seemed like a warning.
“I’ll be here.” he said raising his glass as she turned and walked away. He finished his drink and set it on the table, not long after another shadow passed over him and set down nearby.
“I assume you're here to give me the details of the job?” Kevis said not looking up as he leaned back placing both his boots on the table as he pulled a small crystal out of his pocket and began tossing it into the air.
“Yes.” The voice hissed before laying down a pouch on the table. Kevis didn’t even glance at it. “This is your advance pay.”
“Pretty big job then?”
“Yes, and you’ll payed twice this much once its done.”
“Give me the details.” He said catching the Crystal before leaning forward as the raspy voice explained the job that he wanted done. Kevis leaned back with a sigh. “I’ll have to pass.” He said finely. The strange seemed surprised but Kevis only smiled. “I don’t know if anyone told you but I do my job well, when I take a job. But I’m not your usual merc dog, I pick and chose my jobs and I have my standards to uphold.”
“B-but the pay how could you-”
“I don’t do kids and I don’t do backstabbing assassinations, I do things up front with my clients and enemies none of this mystery business.” Kevis stood. “If you don’t like it…” His green eyes sharpened. “Find another dog to feed your crumbs to…” He picked up his mug, stopping by the bar to have it refilled before he approached Shane’s table.
“You turned down that much credits?” One of the voices asked incredulously.
“Like I said I don’t do job with Kids, unless its bodyguard work.” He turned the chair around and set down leaning over the back. “I’m all ears.”

I didn't win but I got a badge for participating.Spoiler: Week 1- A walk in the park; "Do you think..."; Purple.“Ah, The sun.” Destiny smiled as the rays hit her face as she and her friend pushed their way out the doors and into the outside world.
“Ya, its nice isnt it?” Jazy asked as she stretched, arms above her head.
“Oh ya, Its nice to be on solid earthen ground again.” They both chuckled as they walked to the parking lot where their ride was waiting. Two handsome men leaned against a nice silver hovercar waiting as they approached. The sight was welcoming, Steve and Ulric, Like brothers Just like their wives were much like sisters.
“I suppose congratulations are in order.” Ulric’s deep voice cut through the two women’s giggles. “Captain.”
“Stop it, I’m still just Destiny Lot to you.”
“Whatever you say, Captain.” He said with a grin before she punched him in the arm.
“Ow…” He muttered rubbing his shoulder but grinned.
“Get in the car.” She said smirking while Jazy slid into the back seat with her hubby leaving the front seats open for her and Ulric to slide into. She took the wheel before looking over her shoulder at the two in the back. “How does a walk in the park and lunch sound?”
“So good.” Jazy moaned. “I want hot dogs, corn dogs, nachos and some ice cream.”
“did they starve you while I wasn’t looking?” Steve asked eyes widening as his Lady love listed all her food wants.
“Not quite, But hand made food is SOOO much better then replicated food stuff.”
Steve chuckled. “I can only guess, Corn dogs and hot dogs it is.”
“What about you Destiny?” Ulric asked.
“Pizza and a cold Root Beer splash and a side of cinnamon rolls.” She smiled as she pulled out of the parking lot.
“Women, you all have weird cravings.” Steve said pulling Jazy against him as they turned a corner. “We missed you galls.”
“I’m sure you did.” Jazy said quietly.
“How are your boys? Tommy and Turen?”
“Their good, Missing their mother and Aunt Destiny.” Steve responded. “Wait till they find out you’re a captain.”
“Oh, Yes.” Destiny said smile. “I have something for them, don’t let me forget.”
“Oh, they are going to love it!” Jazy exclaimed.
“What did you get?”
“Its a purple magnetic moon rock from the magenta moons of Polix.”
“See, It attracts things of a purple color rather than things that are actually magnetic.”
“Its that even possible?”
“You’ll see when my Luggage gets home.” Destiny told him with a grin before pulling into a parking lot. “Here we are! Food and then lets go to the park and enjoy some real sunshine.”
Temporarily they split up to get all the variety of foods they wanted. Ulric settled for sharing her food with her, convinced that she couldn’t finish it all off on her own despite her protests. When they met back at the park they chose a seat overlooking the park from a short hill. the laughter of children was a welcome sound, not something you heard in the space stations.
“Do you think…” She started after watching some of the kids run by. “That we'll ever have kids?” She asked Ulric who paused in his food to watch the kids before turning honest eyes to her.
“Destiny, someday well have kids.” he promised. “And we'll keep trying until then.”
Jazy gave her a warm encouraging smile.
“You’ll have your hands full when you have Tommy and Turen to watch.” Steve said with a grin.
“What do you mean?” She asked after swallowing down a final bite of pizza.
“I… we had a bet… and I kind of lost, so we have the nephews for a week while the couple goes… on a trip.” Ulric said with a sheepish smile.
“Oh you!”
Jazy laughed outright and clapped her hands in glee. “Where are we going love?” Steve only grinned without saying a word.
Destiny found herself smiling anyways. Despite the unexpectedness of the arrangements, She didn’t mind. She loved children, Tommy and Turan most of all and was happy to have them on her farm before she was sent away again.
Spoiler: Week 2 - Week two - A pleasant day; "I can't even!"; Watermelon.Insa sighed as she gathered up her books moving out the door and looking both ways down the hall. light nights dreams had been insistently drawn back to Llama’s and rainbows. And eating normal Cheeses pizza hadn’t helped.
She rubbed her head again as she moved down the hall.
“Good morning!” Rony said coming from behind. “Sorry I missed you at Breakfast.” He said rubbing the back of his head as he slowed down to walk beside her.
“That’s Okay I couldn’t eat it anyways…”
“Oh?”
“Lucky charms cereal and after last nights dreams… no more rainbows…”
“Uh, you had a dream about lucky charms?”
“uhm…” she started wondering if she really wanted to share the strangeness of her dreams. “No.” She said finely.
They walked out through the doors leading to the outside path to the other side of the school, It was a pleasant day out so why not? plus there was not that many others out here right now. She began to explain the first dream she’d had as they walked.
“Really?” Rony asked. “And then you keep having dreams about llama’s and rainbows?”
Insa sighed again. “I can’t even! I can’t understand where it came from, don’t most dreams have a meaning or something?”
“You mean like maybe its about something that's bothering you?”
“Ya… “ She grumbled. “I’m was pretty sure it was something I ate but I can’t say anymore.”
“Hum, maybe its just one of those dreams that doesn't have to do with anything.” he suggested.
“Ya maybe.” She agreed setting her bags down near the wall and heading for the line. “I wonder what's on the menu to day.”
“Well I heard we have some watermelon.” Rony said with a smile. “I’ve never had any so I’m looking forward to trying some.”
“Its pretty good.” She told him with a smile and peer around the few people in front of them. “Looks like you're in luck two, there’s quite a few left.”
Spoiler: week 3 - An unexpected visitor; "He said, she said"; Broken glass.John tapped his fingers on his desk in a altering rhythm. An unexpected visitor, he wanted to know how he’d gotten in here without showing up on the cameras. Even his pet dog bears didn’t show up! He replayed the feed again watching closely for any signs of sabotage, cover up or even any signs that invisibility was being used. Nothing, there was nothing out of the ordinary.
“You’ve been at this for three days.” His helper said as she set a cup of coffee down in front of him. “Don’t you think you should rest your eyes now?”
“There are 15 dead scientists, 12 wounded and an entire laboratory destroyed and no signs of how the intruder got in here.” He sighed taking a sip of the warm coffee and leaning back in his chair. “And we are still cleaning up the broken glass.”
“Well…” The assistant said thinking before moving around the desk to take a look at the footage. “Did none of the wounded have anything to say?” She asked.
“I haven't checked yet.”
“I’m sure some of them are awake by now, now would be a good time to check and get your eyes away from a screen.”
“If you say so.” He said pushing himself out of his chair while he rubbed one hand against the warm cup of it coffee. “Lets go then.”
Carolin shut the door as they left and walked down to the medical wing.
“That remind me.” She started, flipping through a few of the papers in her arms. “Robert said something about Nakita.”
“Oh?” John grumbled over his cup. “What did he say?”
Well, He said, she said that there was a possibility someone on the inside had helped him in.”
John hesitated a moment. “Unfortunately that could be a possibility, though I wish it weren't so, its not possible that they could have teleported in.”
“Not without an extreme amount of energy and I’m sure we would have picked that up.”
He nodded again as they turned into the medical station stopping at the door to survey the wounded and the working doctors. “Lets get this over with.” he sighed. “This is depressing…”

I got gold this year!Spoiler: day 1 - Hundred word dash. ~ Signature. The girl tapped her pencil on the desk, staring at the scribbles over the blue lined paper. creating one’s own personalized signature was harder than she’d thought. But she wanted it, She needed it. She’d thought about it often. To be a writer, to have two lives, or maybe more seemed like a romantic idea. A signature, a name to stand out in the crowed of all other names, but a name that would conceal her real identity and give a certain charm to the person she was creating in her place. After a moment she shoved the paper aside and pulled over her laptop, quickly typing in the find box for a word translator. She played with words for some time, hearing them roll off an electronic tongue before trying them for herself, saving sounds that sounded right and discarding things that just missed the beat she was looking for. "Papel... Kirja... Scrittor." Was the musing words that left her mouth. "P.K. Scrittor." A smile spread over her lips. Perfect.

Spoiler: Day 13 - Letter long jumpDear Great aunt Molly,
I write to you hoping for some advice on how to handle my new Parents in law. You with the most experience, and only living relative left, are bound to know what to do in these situations I find myself in.
First there is the situation in which I find that I have nothing to say to them, all my interests don’t seem to spark any kind of light in their old tired eyes and they simply seem to doze as I ramble on and on. They never talk about their own interests and whenever I ask they simply wave the question away saying that I am too young to understand.
Second neither of them seem to appreciate my cooking either, is there something else I should learn to fix? something old timey? I thought they would have loved your all time favorite carrot soup. I’m not sure if I should cook at all anymore, only my husband and Kids seem to enjoy what I cook.
That brings me onto the finally subject, Neither of them seem to approve of my Kids, oh and they are good kids Aunt Molly, you know them. Holly and Jack. They always spout off about how in their day kids weren't allowed to do this or that. But they have never once praised my kids for doing anything good. I’m not sure what to do anymore dear aunt. Please respond as quickly as you can with some much needed words of advice and wisdom.
Sincerely your young married niece.
Abitha totly.
Spoiler: Day 16/17 - 400 word dash ~ fear of the unknownHumans have a fear of the unknown, and yet at the same time they have a burning wish to know what is beyond their reach, beyond the stars, beyond the darkness behind them. This is characterised in many, many ways in movies, books, plays. Anything and everything a human is involved with.
To the very extreme, to the mild. In the bad light of a lust for power or for reasons to advance and accept change and things around us that are different. Our fear of the unknown and our desire to know it can drive people down very different paths.
One man may go on to find a new race, strange and in many ways unhuman. Something not easily accepted but he becomes seasoned friends with them and advance the human cause to explore, expand their knowledge of the world around them and even beyond. Such acts by such people are of the good sort, not on seeking of only glory for a find, and by people who have overcome their fear of the unknown or at least faced it and won.
A second man may find himself on a path to ruin as he savagely attempts to ride the universe of the oddities he’s found. Be it fear of what he does not know or the human weakness to be in control, which can also sprout from the the fear, to be powerful. The downfall of such are never quite and never go unnoticed, for they make themselves loud, all eyes drawn to them.
It is seen in history, not just fantasy and imagination. Humans have gone to war before over differences, over things they did not understand and things they feared and lusted to be in control of. Be it religion, life style even belief in fairy tales and the remaining unknown factor behind them. Nothing safe, and even with all our knowledge and all that we have found. There is still so much we do not know.
So my question to the world, to the nations, to the families, to the to the individuals. What do you think? about the unknown? are you eager to move past the stars and see what the darkness has to offer you? Or do you wish the keep things all with in order, keep things under control and the same?
What will you do with your fear? the fear of the unknown...

Spoiler: Day 25 - Orbit throwOn March 30th 3002 P.K. died of the common cold, which many say is not surprising for her age and condition.
P.K. had once told family that she wanted a quiet funeral and for people to be happy that she was going to a better place.
The time of place where the funeral is to take place has not been disclosed to the public and family refuses to give information out and say that only those who were invited by P.K. herself before her death can attend.
Spoiler: Day 28 - Grab bagA lie, that was all it was. But she had to say it, for his sake. Kalila bit her lip, her nails digging into her palms.
“Kalila?” Glacier asked placing a hand on her shoulder. A split second later her fist slammed into his face. In that moment she thought back to how they had met, how she’d beaten him into submission, how she hadn’t understood back then what she really wanted.
“What the hell Kalila?!” He shouted after right himself in the air. “This is no time to play crack the Glacier!”
“You're holding me back.” She made her voice cold, distant and hard. She struggled from fultring. But she knew if she didn’t get him to leave… they would both die. It taken her all this time to learn how to not to hurt someone, how not to but heads with someone… how to keep someone close.
“K-kali-”
“I don’t need you.” She growled her tail bristling. “You’ve been holding me back! you should just go with the others and make yourself useful!”
“Stop it Kalila!”
“NO! I don’t want you Glacier! I don’t need you! and I’m going to forget you!” The ice demon actually looked taken back. She turned her back to him, unable to keep the tears from streaming down her face. It took her all this time to learn how to stop pushing people away and now she had to do it on purpose. Neither of them were powerful enough take on the force in front of them… everyone else was disposed of, she had to give them time to evacuate.
“Take your pitiful power level and help the others where you’ll be more useful, Let the rest of us real fighters take care of this.”
“Fine…” He said, but she didn’t turn as he left. She reached up slowly and rubbed away some of the tears with her palm. “Get off this planet and find a place they wont find you.” She breathed in before powering up and flying off in the direction of the danger, she had to stall just enough time.
Glacier set down and looked at all the people who were running for the ships. Why bring all this up now? in the middle of a crisis? couldn’t she have picked a better time?
“Hey, Glacier!” Iram said stopping in front of him. “Where is Kalila?”
“Tisk how should I know.” He growled crossing his arms and looking down at the tiger tailed boy.
“What? you just left her out there?!”
“She told me to leave!” Glacier snapped back. “She told me point blank she didn’t want me there and I was holding her back.”
“And you believed her?!”
“Since when has she ever liked to me before!?” Glacier was slightly taken back as Iram slammed his fist into his face, exactly as Kalila had.
“How about when she didn’t want you to worry? Or when she felt that she couldn’t protect you?” Kalila’s little brother towered over the ice demon. “I can’t believe you didn’t think about it! no matter how harshly she says it she could never mean that!”
Glacier was silent for a long moment. Kalila wasn’t a very secretive person, and she didn’t play around, especially with feelings. If she had something to tell him she said it, if she really had felt that way she would have told him earlier. Iram was right, the only time she’d ever lied to him was when she … admitted her weakness.
“Glacier… you're the only one that Kalila doesn't butt heads with, your the only one who can calm her down and think rationally.” Iram said calming down. “That’s not holding her back, that’s… that’s making her better.” Iram’s tail sank down. “Everyone seems to be a little happier when Kalila’s happier, And its because you make her.. happy.”
Glacier’s eyes widened a bit as Iram started to rub his eyes. He’d forgotten for a moment that he was just a kid. “Iram…”
“Kalila knew you both would have died if you faced off to that thing together.” The boy sobbed. “Glacier… Kalila’s gonna die, all alone…”
Had he really been so surprised at her words that he forgot what she was really like? “No she’s not.” The ice demon said as he stood. “Iram… find a time machine, You need to warn the others about this in the past.” He said patting the boy on the shoulder. “I’ll find Kalila and make sure she’s not alone.” Iram looked up at him for a moment before nodding.
“Please… don’t let her die alone.” He sniffed. “I’ll tell the others and make sure it never really happens.” he said throwing his arms around him before a moment before he dashed away in the direction where all the time machines were set, if any of them were still working…
“Hold on Kalila…”
Kalila hit the ground, leaving a long trail in the earth before she stopped. She picked herself up panting. Blood ran down the side of her face, her body covered in gashes. She’d barely just started and already she was wearing down. It was like she was hardly trying but she was putting everything she had into these attacks.
She knew it, even before she sent him away, it was too much for her. It be too much for him. She was blasted into the air by a strong beam before she was hit by a hefty punch from her shapeshifting foe. She bounced against the ground once and expected to hit one of the rock outcrops and shatter it into pieces. She was surprised when she felt herself land in someone’s arms.
“Glacier?”
“I’m here.”
“But why?” She asked quietly opening her eyes to meet his as he crouched and set her onto the ground.
“I told your brother I wouldn’t let you die alone, I know we aren't strong enough to finish this thing.” He said before offering her a smile. “But we really do go together like fire and ice. Kalila.. I want you and I need you.”
Kalila couldn’t help it, for the second time that day tears streamed down her cheeks before she grabbed Glacier and Kissed him, taking the ice demon back for a moment in surprise. “I-i… I need you to…” She said holding into him tightly as the darkness came closer.
Spoiler: 5 Crazy things
I got 77 points and a rep from thebarbarian on my first story.
Don't know what I got on my second one.
Spoiler: Week 1 - Made in China - Mother's Day - Spartans - Dentist Office - Angry MobIts mothers day! Shoot me! anything can go wrong and believe me It did. But on hindsight I guess it wasn’t as bad as it could have been. But this is how my unusual mothers day went.
May 10th, Mother's day. Not that I had a mother to say ‘Happy mothers day!’ too, It didn’t matter I said it to my grandmothers grave every year and got her the same flowers each time.
I had to go into work this time though so my visit was cut short, which didn’t fill me with anything but grumpy bumps. Seriously, I started having a mild itch, I always do when I feel this discontent. Grandma said it was never good to be angry but I guess I just couldn't help it.
I worked at a toy store and no surprise, but we were getting in a new shipment to day. Also no surprise all the toys had labels telling every one they were made in China. There was almost literally nothing not made from China in this shop, accept for those Jacobs ladders, We got those from a Local. They are actually pretty amusing, mesmerizing if you play with them long enough.
It didn't take long to put the store uniform on, Stupid hat, seriously who wears these things anymore? I walked into the back and pushed a door open just in time to see the back of the truck open, ready for unloading.
“Hey… we are short…” I said looking around to see that there was less unloaders than normal. “Where is everyone?”
“Uh.. I donno…” One of the guys by the name of Fred said with a shrug. He was a big guy, strong. I saw him carry 13 boxes once, all stuffed full of barbie doll toys, figures, cars, houses you name it. If it wasn't for the height of the door frame he would have made it all the way to the front.
“Well that's great, Looks like I’ll have to help.” This didn't help my mood as I lightly scratched at my arm.
“We better hurry.” The other guy said uncrossing his arms and making for the first few boxes. “What did we get to day anyways?”
I shrugged before coming over to peer into the first box we opened.
“Is this… really supposed to be a toy?” Fred asked picking up one of the oddly shaped items. “It… Looks more like… Toothbrushes...”
“That's because they are!” I snapped before snatching it up and tossing it back in the box. “Hey! Driver!” I called moving around the side of the truck to find the man leaning up against his truck having a smoke. He raised a questioning look as I rounded the corner.
“I think you delivered the wrong shipment to the wrong place!” He didn't seemed bothered as he pulled out his cig and blew a puff out.
“Nope, My directions were clear.”
“Are you kidding?!” I snapped smacking his smoke to the ground. “If we stocked up those kinds of things we’d have an angry mob of kids at our front desk!!”
The man simply frowned at his cig before straightening himself about ready to say something but before he could say anything I pointed a finger at his face. “Don’t, I’ll give you to the count of three to get your truck out of here and find the RIGHT place you're supposed to park this crap.” He looked down, crossing his eyes to look at the tip of my finger. He looked like he was looking down the barrel of a loaded gun.
“Alright miss, just take it easy, I’ll pull ‘er out.”
“You had better.” I turned without another word and stalked back to the others. “Put it back in and close it, we need to find the REAL truck.” I marched back inside and to the phone dialing the number for the manager of our shipments.
“Hello? Hello? can I help you?” Came the sweet voice I didn't recognize.
“Ya… Where is the manager?”
“He’s indisposed, I’m taking his position for a while.” She replied sweetly.
“How long ago?” I asked flatly.
“Um…” she started and shuffled through a few papers. “About a week and a half ago.”
“Great I found who to blame.” She started to object but I cut her off. “We just got a shipment of toothbrushes. By the way did you know this is a toy store?”
There was silence for a moment as more papers where hastily ruffled through. “W-well that's not so bad, Kids need toothbrushes and all-”
“THIS.IS.A.TOY STORE!” I felt like the damn Spartans as I shouted that. “NOT a dentists office! Do you know exactly how many disappointed kids we would have? how many would stop coming here if one of those things even so much as showed up on our shelves? no, you don’t. get us the right shipment.” I said. “Please.” I added in a slightly nicer tone.
“O-o-of course!” She gasped. “Right away I’ll fix it!”
I let out a breath before putting the phone away calmly and looking up at my two companions who were looking at me with surprise.
“What?”
“Well.. you… you just sounded sort of angry.”
“I’m fine now.” I said simply. In fact I did, my grumpy bumps were gone and so was the itching. “Lets just keep going till closing time, I've got a conversation to finish with my grandmother.”
Spoiler: week 4 - Love Letter - Sage - Anime - Sister - GoldMandy shaded her eyes against the gold rays raining down on her from the sun. It was a bright, warm day not a cloud to be seen in the sky. Perfect to get some work done then sit back in the shade of the porch and drink some lemonade with her siblings and their dates.
She wiped her forehead before picking up the pitchfork again and heading back into the barn to finish cleaning the horse stalls. May was already up in the loft tossing down the bails of hay they would need to finish the job.
She tossed out the last of the fouled hay before looking up at her sister. “Okay, Fill ‘em back up May.”
“Will do.” Came the response before another bale of hay dropped down to the floor.
Mandy replaced the pitchfork before she turned and walked back out of the barn only to see Missy scurrying away from the mailbox clutching something close to her. Missy flung the house door open and let it bang shut behind her making Mandy raise a questioning eyebrow.
So the mail had arrived, she wondered if Missy had gotten anything special and that's why she was acting strangely, Maybe she got some new kind of anime or cartoon, She was still childlike and enjoyed some of those things, she also seemed to like romantic anime, something someone had accidentally introduced her to and then the rest of the family.
Once she reached the door Mandy dusted herself off before slipping into the kitchen where Sam was cooking up some lunch.
“Hey, Sam. Is there anything you need?”
“Hum, ya could you grab me some fresh sage from the garden?”
“Sure thing. Then I need to check the mail Missy brought in.”
Mandy made her way back outside and to the garden, plucking a handful of the herb before heading back in and setting it next to the sink for her sister who thanked her before she left to the living room.
She expected there to be a small pile of envelopes left on the coffee table but, there was nothing left but an old magazine and some newspapers. Missy wasn't anywhere downstairs either so she headed up stairs and knocked on her door. She could hear a wild commotion on the other side of the door, like someone was trying to find someplace to hide something…
“Missy what are you up to?” she called as she opened the door, catching the young girl in the act of slipping the parchment under her pillow. “What is that?” She took the paper and began to read it over while Missy fidgeted.
“I-i got it in the mail, b-but I don’t know who its from.”
“This is a… love letter?” Mandy asked looking over the edge of the paper at her young sister who timidly nodded. Mandy was unsure if she wanted to cheer or be suspicious… “I’m going to have to talk to your brothers about this.” She said folding the paper and tapping Missy’s head lightly. “Don’t worry, leave the worrying to us.” She said before hugging her little sister who could only nod.
Mandy kneeled down in front of her sister. “Now, how long has this been going on?”
Missy hesitated only a moment. “For two weeks.”
“Hum, you need to be careful Missy. I’m not trying to be mean but I am little suspicious of this fellow, so lets see the rest of your letters and talk so the others.”
Missy reluctantly but honestly gathered up every letter, there was a total of four, Five counting today's.
“Alright, Lets go hold a family meeting…” Mandy said holding out her hand for Missy to take before they headed out to gather the others.
