Flares of the Empire

War, war has always influenced the life of the humanity, destroying and creating. War forms empires and makes them fall. The war has changed as the centuries passed, causing more and more destruction and sorrow. In the past the war was local and there were only simple weapons but new inventions increased the damage and area war made and finally reached its peak as the civilians began to be targetted.
After that even bigger and more effective weapons were built; nuclear-, biological-, chemical-, even energy weapons evolved faster and faster until the ultimate weapons were created and the whole planet earth and most of the colonies were destroyed during the raging wars.

100 years later; Earth has been ravaged and the old civilications have been destroyed, only small traces of the long-gone world has wanished, or so was thought. Strange group with high advanced technology appeared and began to dominate the small clans and settlements that had spread across the old USA. The now living groups had only simple weapons and firearms that they had found and repaired or crafted themselves but the group who appeared had pre-war technology. They called themselves "The Empire", a big amount of people who have gained their hands on pre-war technology and started to swallow small tribes and clans while expanding their affection across the northern- and western USA. Only the south-easter areas of the continent are still free but they are mostly occupied by criminals and outlaws who try to resist against the power of the Empire but the strongest weapons of the Empire, the "Flares", humanoid weapons with individual powers are still expanding the powers of the Empire.

You are an outlaw, not just a normal outlaw but a refugee Flare who was forcefully made into a Flare and forced to fight along the Empire troops but you fled with some comrades during a chaos of a battle and hide into the free zone. You have help from some outlaws from the free zone and you have decided to move against the huge Empire and free the captured areas.
But of course you won't be just marching into the territory of the Empire but you must fight your way throught the areas and defeat the bountyhunters and other Flares who have received the orders to get rid of you.

Personality: A calm tactician who uses his experience and knowledge from the old world to command his troops for the well of the Empire. He shows no mercy when it comes to combat but he is caring father and husband, thus hoping to get Sicilia back into the duty of the empire and that the higher ups or even the emperor to reprieve her.
Bio: A man born in the bunker, rising in the hierarchy and receiving the position of a general.
As the Empire left the bunkers and began their campaign to conquer the USA, Don Revueno became the military commander to conquer the east. After being successful he rose to become the highest military officer in the Empire.
Other: General Don Revueno is the observing commander of the Flare Units.

Personality: An extreme narcisstic and selfish woman. Josefina doesn't care about anyone than herself and can't stand it if she is ignored.
She also hates to use her powers as they affect her looks.
Bio: Born into the Empire not much is known about Josefina. She jined the Flare unit 2 in age of 20 and has risen into the ranks of the "8 Stars". She has been classified as the number 4 of them.
Powers: cataphractos immortales (Armored Immortal)

Equipment: A robe made special for her so Josefina can use her powers free without any prolems, a long staff made of ivory and gold, headgear that resembles horns to conduct her powers.

Personality: Tricky. Both of the twins are very hard to understand as they use to blabber nonsence all the time. They often have mood swingings and turn from happy to depressed and then angry in only few minutes (always at the same time).
Bio: Twins, born in one of the tribes the Empire absorbed were the two children taken by the empire and trained into soldiers. Both of them are excellent hand-to-hand fighters and use extreme quickness and strenght to fight even against armored units barehanded.
In age of 13 they were taken into the Flare project but something went wrong during the modification and the minds of them were damaged irreperable. Olivia lost the ability to speak and Oliver his hearing but for this they gained somekind of a connection between their mids and thus they communicate so, helping the other to do what the other cannot.
The twins share the position of the 5th position of the stars.
Powers: Alice&Jabberwock, a combination power only useable when both activating them together.

Equipment: No weapons nor special armors, they are usally hiding before they use their powers and thus not many know how they look like.
Other: Due of their powers, the twins are extremely unstable in mind and often attack eachother rather than the enemy. Only one of the "8 Stars" can manage to control the twins, who is it is unknown.

Personality: Ryuu is the unmotivations personification and he never shows interest to anything except to showing off his powers. He loves to show how strong he is and his biggest goal is to defeat the "Light" Swordmaster as he calls Clash.
Bio: Ryuu was born to the Empire and entered the Sanctuary in age of 5. There he learned to fight with a sword. He always used to fight against Clash but it always ended as a tie.
After Clash left the Sanctuary, Ryuu bacame a part of the Flare unit 2. He soon reached the top of the unit and became one of the "8 Stars", the most strongest Flares of the Empire. Even thought he is only the 6th, he still is very strong and skilled enemy.
Powers: Dark Swordmaster
Equipment: Light scout gear without helmet or any armors, a sword made of a rare titanium-iron-rubidium alloy.
Other: He is the "rival" of the original Swordmaster. The both powers are about at the same level and Ryuu wants to show the world he is stronger than Clash. He carries the armlet of the Sanctuary but he doesn't have the black mark you get if you are banished.

Personality: Sicilia is a strict but still caring person with strong sense for justice. She often lets her feelings take over and doesn’t think about the consequences.
Bio: Sicilia was born in one of the bunkers of the Empire few years before they left them. She started her military training in age of 8 and entered the actual military in age of 13. After five years as a normal foot soldier and promotions to Staff Lieutenant Sicilia was transferred into the still experimental Flare unit and became the captain of “Flare I” for the next 5 years.
Sicilia showed unbelievable capability from the beginning and mastered her Flare in only few months after receiving it. She was unbelievable good tactician and thus won all battles her unit took part without almost any causalities.
After leading her troop for 5 years and the seventh neared its end, Sicilia’s unit was ordered to destroy a garrison of the “rebels” but in truth it was a refugee camp and they were actually ordered to eliminate wounded, children and elderly. Sicilia was shocked about this action and in the chaos she left her position and escaped into the wasteland.
During the next 2 years, Sicilia met many other deserters of the army and started to plan a counter attack against the Empire and free the clans and tribes they had destroyed or slaved.

Powers: Constantinople, The holy city of Constantinople appears in form of a sword; the sword changes the size according the danger it senses. It is extremely powerful Flare, only inferior to three other Flares that are still in the hands of the Empire.

Equipment: Empire Army’s officer uniform with Kevlar padding, Universal combat sword Mk. VIII

Other: Sicilia is actually daughter of one of the Empires generals.

Personality: While Samuel is usually a caring man who'll go out of his way for those he cares about, Samuel has the capacity to be quite cruel. Often when he is talking to rivals he knows well he'll bring up something sensitive just to 'twist the knife' and upset them enough to make a mistake. He has also been known to leave thse he hates alive, slowly taking them apart instead of simply finishing them off.

Bio: Samuel was born to a small tribe shortly before they were absorbed into the Empire, his people submitted willingly, and as a show of good faith gave all their children over the the Empire's service. When he was of an appropriote age Samuel was sent into the military as a test subject for their "Flare" Experiment, after years of raining and conditioning Samuel was finally put through the process at age 14. Since it was still experimental the process was particularly painful for Samuel, but when he came out of it he was incredibly powerful and at the first opportunity used his powers to escape the Empire into the Wastlands and ever since has inflicted as much damage upon the Empire as he could.

Equipment: A suit of light power armor (I'm assuming "Advanced technology" includes power armor), a sword and dagger set, a submachine gun for medium range.
Other: He's been trying to find a way to make using his power at close range practical enough to not need other weapons as much.

Spoiler: Kalypso Bea 

Name: Calypso Bea
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Appearance:

Personality: An unique character with a strong and flattering personality. Born in a low class, she learned that everything won’t be served on the tray. A wild personality that tends to do what she pleased without listening to other. Calypso will never listen to someone, unless she accepted him or her as a leader. Is a hard worker and doesn’t like to let others that she sweats on doing her job. She accepted her powers as a beast master at a young age, and made out of the fragile girl surrounded by women who sold their body, into a feral child. Calypso doesn’t speak ‘humans’ language very well, she is dyslexic; but, understand animals language better than others. Because of her arrogant and straight forward personality, she often swears in a language unknown to others. Never puts her feeling first, consider them as weaknesses and often is tagged by others as an emotionless person. She is loyal to those who understand the word leader, ‘cause to be a good leader you need to understand everyone needs, to accept everyone and listen; something that Calypso’s personality may lack from time to time. When she is choosing her friends, she does throw hard work. She wants strong people, who can help her in need, with facts, not words. It is often tempered to foreigners, and subject them to various tests. And will never, but never forget someone who had toyed with her pride.
Bio: She was chosen, when ? The exact date is unknown, even for this young woman. Her biological mother was dead – or she knows so – and took the name Calypso; she fall in love with a song. There was an old man, who create a song, a powerful and gentle song, named it Calypso. She lived with him for two years; she met his daughter, Bea. In these two years this man became like a father, an idol for her. But during some fights on the street, he was killed. She doesn’t remember exactly when she used her first time the powers, and doesn’t want. What she remembers only is that people – a lot of people – got killed. Under the wing of the Empire she met Hugo, a Hawk, who back then hated everything and everyone; but now, his only family is Calypso. For a few years was the spy for the Empire, but one day she had enough; were rumors that said that a woman with crimson eyes destroy some important information from the core of the Empire
Powers: Beast master
Equipment: Her armor is unique; protects only her breasts area, the legs and parts of her body that she is sensible to it. She only has a stick, white, of 67 cm, with odd designs that resemble to the old and ancient writing.
Other: Has a hawk as her pet, and you will never see the two of them apart. Are like soul mates. On her back, has a large and deep scar, a good-bye gift from the Empire, because Calypso steps on their wrong side. Has a photographic memory, and never forgets something – even she might want to – and is often searched for the information she holds.

Spoiler: Sol Laretto 

Name: Sol Laratto
Age: 17
Gender: M
Appearance: A 6ft tall boy with curly blonde hair, his eyes are blue with orange rings in them. A piercing on his left ear that is a silver stud with a red stone. His chest is mostly scar from burns he suffered, he usually wears a brown jacket for winter even in the summer with a red undershirt and a darker wash of jeans.
Personality: He's always ready to protect is friends, he cares deeply about everyone. He is always looking for other things to find his interests so he doesn't pay attention to much for very long.
Bio: Training to be a fierce fighter ever since he was 7 he has found a interest in swords, around the age of 14 he found, while fighting with a group in a sparring match, that he prefers dual wielding of sword. Shortly after "disgracing" his training sanctuary he was cast out for using the "Gods sword style" (in there belief) was forbidden and not something to be used by a mere boy he was beaten by the leader of the sanctuary and left for dead found by the man he calls his grandfather he helped Clash hone his style preparing for him to be a strong swordsman. On Clash's 17th birthday his "grandfather" made him a sword called "The Sustaining Fire" and and a Oak Long bow he had since his father gave it to him. He then sent him out from his land to further his knowledge.
Powers: Swordmaster: Using his extensive understanding of figthing with swords he accels with a two handed sword style, his Swordmaster flare allows him to move faster and more graceful with two swords that most can with one.
Equipment: The Sustaining Fire, Black edge, A golden armlet (signifying he was a part of the Sanctuary) A brown heavy coat and his bow
Other: "My skills may not be great, but that doesn't mean I can't get better." His golden armlet is attached to him and cannot be taken off with such ease it is a mark that he was in the Sanctuary and the mark left on in it in black signifying he was tossed out by defying the gods

Clash is the 9th generation of his family born to be a captain in the Empire of the VII Attack Brigade but ran away when his father left him to fight for his own on a raid when he was severely burned right before the sanctuary found him.

Personality:
Jaded and tired for the most part. Aias has plenty of sympathy for her fellow slaves, but in terms of taking action, she really couldn't care to do anything for them. Over all, Aias just wants to be left alone and live on her own without being bothered by the world.
Bio:
Ever since Aias and her fellow Flares fled the army, she's done her best to simply lay low and hide from conflict as she's been just sick of fighting. Before she fled though, she had become quite accomplished after over fifteen years fighting for the empire as one of their slave Flares before the opportunity to flee arose which she took immediately, fleeing into the wastes.
Powers:
Armageddon - With her Flare, Aias is capable of calling down Raining debris from high orbit to reign down upon an area up to a mile in diameter. While not as wide ranging as Great bombardment, the control is great enough that Aias is capable of fighting within the bombardment area and steer her shots away from herself.
Equipment:
Full combat armor from the above picture, and going with that are a matched pair of heavy weight batons used for blunt force melee combat.
Other:
She has a large burn scar on her back between her shoulder blades from her training.

Spoiler: Jaymes 

Name: Jaymes
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Appearance: Jaymes is usually extremely well-kept. His appearance is always spotless, clean-shaven, and his hair, jet black, is well-kept, carefully falling short of his collar. His eyes, a violet color due to alterations he had done on his own appearance, spark with a little mischief.
Personality: Jaymes is mischievous to the max. If he thinks he can cause trouble, he will. However, when the situation becomes dire, his personality will reverse. He'll drop all semblance of foolishness, and fight with the seriousness necessary to win. In general, he tends to avoid speaking of himself unless with ridiculous amounts of praise.
Bio: Jaymes was only thirteen when he was taken by the Empire. His life hadn't been anything special; he'd had a good childhood, actually. His parents were kind and caring, and he grew up happy. He had a girlfriend, if one can think of a relationship between two such youths in such a manner, and he was, in general, a happy person. However, a bloody massacre left him orphaned and single; a fourth of the towns' population had been slaughtered. Supposedly, it was by 'rebels,' but the prankster had already seen these same uniforms kept in a military base. Jaymes resented the Empire for what they did, but feared outburst.
Of course, they took him for reconstruction soon after. He was fairly impressive as a student; while they couldn't get him to do any work worth anything, if they threw him into vastly dangerous situations, he came to adapt quickly to his power, and had a training rate that was rather substantial. It quickly came to the point where he didn't really need any weapon other than his Flare, and thus he simply carried nothing else.
Seven short years later, he had deployed where he'd always wanted to be; right in the middle of a rebel battle. Upon learning of the assignment before him, he sabatouged the equipment of the other Flares in his squad. When they deployed, he was the only one with a working weapon; a Universal Combat Sword MK. VII, a somewhat older varient of the military-issue one that he had come to specialize in, and a standard-issue pistol. Coupled with The Void, this was all the young man needed to eliminate two thirds of the squad and disappear into the fray.
Powers: The Void
Equipment: A Universal Combat Sword MK. VII, a standard-issue pistol of the Empire, and a Combat Suit MK. II, which provides some small amount of protection against bullets and minimal protection against swords.
Other: Jaymes has a scar going from his shoulder to his spine; the only injury he took before mastering The Void.

Spoiler: Charlotte Denice Amador 

Name: Charlotte Denice Amador (sometimes goes by Charlie or Caddie)

Age: 16

Gender: female

Appearance: she has piercing light blue eyes and hair darker than a raven's wing with the same shiny blue lighting to go with it. average height, very fit/healthy, nice curves for someone of her stature. she has a pale complexion but very smooth and long legs to go with. usually wears something black. https://weheartit.com/entry/30053608?group=B&imgres=# <<found one!

Personality: Charlotte is a talkative person once you get to know her, but before that she would seem like the world's biggest introvert, she keeps to herself if it's none of her business but when asked to help will always jump at an opportunity. she likes quiet time but also spending time with friends. can be malicious though if you trigger a bad memory or even an emotion with her. she always has some pent-up rage behind her smiles

Bio: Charlotte came from a very loving and healthy background with a family that always supported her. Her sister died when she was just 11 from fatal wounds and Charlotte has never forgotten the man who took her life. They came when Charlotte was only 8, her sister being 11. Her sister saved her life that fated day, the day the Empire came to take over her small homely town. She continued to grow up and never forgot what those men did to her. though she may always seem happy and cheerful, she's always hiding that blistering rage she still has for the Empire. Nowadays, Charlotte treasures the time she gets to spend with her brother, and hopes that one day he too may choose to become a flare (i think i used this in the right sense? like the flare that helps free towns)

Name: Marius

Appearance:

Personality: Forgetting and carefree young man without any worries and a great affinity for exploring which often causes him to get lost very often and his powers aren't helping him about it in anyway. He is also addicted to dried fruits.
Bio: Marius was born into a small tribe who used to live right over the heads of the Empire as they lived in their bunkers. Marius was only an infant as the empire suddenly came out of the bunkers and annihilated the village of his parents and took over. Marius was given to a pair inside the empire and he grew up as their child until he was 13. He had received no military training as his body was weak and he used to be sick often so he was only receiving the academical training in tacticas and warfare.
In age of 14, Marius was chosen for the Flare project in order to give Marius combat capabilities. His modification was extremely hard as his body wasn't as strong as that of the others who had received military training. Marius wasn't able to do anything for many months after the process but after that he quickly became extremely useful person as a spy and infiltrator. He also created strategies for difficult combat situations.
After his 15th birthday he heard from her "parents" that he was actually a survivor of the tribe that was the first target of the Empire. After this Marius just left the Empire, his power was extremely useful for the escape as he could just leave without nobody noticing it before it was too late.
Marius met Sicilia after she had left the Empire while wandering around and joined her as one of the first. Now he supports the group as much as he can, as long as he doesn't get lost.
Powers: Chronodiver
Equipment: Nothing except his clothes and masses of dried fruits.

Spoiler: John Al 

Name: John Al
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Appearance: John only wears a simple white T-shirt, blue jeans and a black Trench coat. He has eye length brown hair. He stands at 6'3, and because of where he lived and what he did before being brought into the Empire and the training after that he has the body of an athlete. He has a large scar on his right arm from when the Empire captured him, one of their officers cut it from his elbow to shoulder with their sword.
Personality: John tends to keep to himself a lot, but is willing to open up and talk to people he knows. He is somewhat messed up, after seeing the Empire kill all of his friends and family right in front of him, he is not likely to try and make friends with people. But, not knowing what else to do, he will still follow and fight against the Empire for his fallen friends. And he is not afraid of dying.
Powers: Dragonslayer
Equipment: John carries a very old Colt 1911 which is what he mostly uses for a weapon, and a old tire iron if the Colt wouldn't work in a fight.
Bio: John was a bandit when the Empire came and attacked his gang. He along with his friends fought off the Empire for as long as they could, and when they were finally captured, the Empire saw an opportunity. So they turned John into what he is now, but before John was able to learn of his power he and the rest of the group broke out.

He then threw one, and just before dematerializing, he saw (place name here) pass out from exertion.

The black hole is a bit different thought, it is more of a large scale defence used to block the other Flares and then counter attack.

Event Horizon is the point in the Black Hole where the gravity of the hole becomes so strong that even light cannot escape, meaning that anything is just malmed into nothingness.

- You can have the black hole but you should think it is the defencive ability with the highest energy usage so it cannot be used often.
