This is a Monster Hunter oriented type of RP, but instead of hunting overpowered creatures, you're hunting down the more traditional beasts, like wolves, lizards, birds.

Be prepared to see the word Fire, A LOT.

Arcadia,

Standing in the region of Ignis, also known as the Firelands. It is a large trading town and a guild base to some of the most revered warriors in the lands throughout. As the name - Ignis states, the surrounding landscape consists of a dormant volcano, rivers of molten magma and pools of lava in every step.

Living in such conditions, individuals who resides in this area are well adapted to sustain in such an area of constant heat. And the denizens are taught to make fireproof equipment and weaponry, so that they may traverse in between areas effortlessly.

However, the creatures roaming Ignis as well have adapted to the conditions. Various quadrupedal creatures have grown fur resistant to fire, feet covered in ash, even some of their claws and teeth are resistant to fire. The hide of such animals make valuable materials to make equipment, and are worth its weight. The bigger, the more valuable.

Each year,

Hunters, gatherers, and warriors alike travel to the lands of Ignis and make their way to Arcadia to participate in a Firehunt. A hunting and celebratory tradition, dating back long ago to the first people to see who is the mightiest of warriors.

A Firehunt is when those who participate, hunt the lands of Ignis, to determine who can attain the most materials and resources from the strongest and most cunning of creatures. The winner will have their materials made into their own personal armor, and the glory of being a Flamekeeper until he/she is surpassed by others in the coming Firehunts. The tradition is also used as a proving ground for aspiring children to become hunters and the like.

Firehunters will also receive the chance to meet an entity known as Andra, the guardian of the Firelands. But only upon the approval and permission of the town's ruling figure, the Firelord.

Relating to Andra, there is rumor of a powerful artifact that exists in the very lands of Ignis. A crystallized essence of Andra's flame, the Heart of Fire. Legends foretold that the Heart of Fire will bestow upon the holder powers equaling that of a God. Powers to control the very element of Fire and the ability to transform into an all mighty Dragon. There is a saying with that goes with the artifact,

"Only that with the purest of souls, and who's flame shines brightest shall be worthy of unending warmth."

No one knows who has invented that saying, but it is Arcadia's form of blessing and good luck.

Andra is an Eternal Flame Dragon who dwells in the dormant Volcano nearby Arcadia, and is believed to be the creator of the first fire, and is the very soul of fire itself. As long as fire exists, Andra lives through time. Andra is also believed to have created the Firehunt to deem if the world was worthy of having the luxury of the Fire's warmth.

Personality:
Kara is the youngest child, and has only four older brothers, so isn't the most feminine and delicate of young women. Yet there is a caring nature to her that seems to impede her ability to progress very far in the hunts, something which she aims to rectify in the coming Firehunt. She's quite the reserved young woman, but is known to stand up for the weak above the safety of herself.

Blades, in particular small/throwing daggers.

*Hard Bread - A long lasting bread used for rations.
*Salt - For purifying meats and helping them to dry out when using them for rations.
*Medicinal herbs - For medicinal uses, largely used against aches and pains.

Biography:
Kara is the only daughter of a blacksmith and his wife, being the youngest also happens to be a title Kara claims as well, who had great plans for his children from a young age. Being from Veros, a quaint little trading village that specialises in blacksmithing and animal hide, Kara has been around hunters all her life. Her father participated in the Firehunt a fair few times in his youth, until her mother was pregnant with their fifth child, Kara, and begged him to stop chasing that particular dream. Her father agreed, seeing the worry and love that his wife had for him, but only once she had agreed to allow him to train their children. Kara's brothers have all participated in the Firehunt, and as the youngest (and the only female) she has only in recent years been allowed to participate. Her first few attempts never resulted in much of anything, except perhaps being the butt of the joke for a while, so this time she is set on achieving something, if not greatness.

Skillset:
Double throw - Throwing both throwing knives at a target, aiming for the heart or head.

Name: Ronka Rosas

Age: 25

Gender: Female

Appearance: 5'7", dark brown hair set into a small spike mohawk, fair skin, green eyes; comely, even pretty face, she has a very muscular physique while still in possession of a feminine figure.

Personality: Ronka is a very rough-and-tumble type of gal. Aggressive and passionate, she'll never back down from a fight, unless she realizes said fight would be pointless aside from stroking someone's ego. When it comes to fighting, she's ruthless and but thinks tactically, reviewing every option she has, quickly if she must.

Aside from that, she's very amiable, friendly, and loyal to her friends; but also very blunt with her opinion on certain matters. It's possible that if you fight her in a duel and prove to be an equal to her, she'll try to be your friend. She'll literally walk up to you and say "I like the way you fight, let's be friends!"

Weapon Specialty: Sword and Shield

• Small Pickaxe: to dig up small halls or mine whatever mineral resources one might find handy.
• Skinning Knife: To cleanly cut off the skin of her prey, not really suited for combat.
• Medicinal Herbs: Used for treating cuts and other wounds.

Her "sword" is basically a large billhook machete that is 2.5 feet in length with a sharp hook on the flat tip of sword; her shield is a large wooden targe, reinforced with a steel whim and made deadly with a metal boss bolted to the center, with a six inch spike sticking out of the center of the boss.

Her armor is plated, but worn under it is a trench coat that reaches down to just above her knees and a pair of baggy trousers. Topping her coat is a cuirass of 4 sections of plating set in "lobster tail" fashion with the smaller plating covering her lower abdomen; her helmet has a metal faceplate attached to it by a hinge. Metal plated greaves and vambraces, chain mail gloves, "lobster tail" fashioned spaulders, knee pads, and a scaled battledress to protect her thighs. Fabric components are colored dark blue, and metal components are black.

FireHunt Experience: Rookie

Biography:

Where other little girls played with dolls and went to school, Ronka skirmished. She is a daughter of a bandit and mercenary, both hail from the realm of Brutii, where coalitions of warbands fight each other in petty territory wars. To say of a child of Brutii, her childhood was pleasant; her parents were affectionate and taught her everything she knows, fighting and surviving the world's harsh but lush wildernesses.

When she was old enough to longer need the protection of her family's warband, Ronka left her homeland for "bloodier pastures". On her way, she found work as caravan guard, until she eventually wound up in Ignis, and its Firehunt. Finding this realm's annual hunt exciting, Ronka has participated for two years, though never found much in the way of success. But this year, she's confidant she'll win.

Skillset:

Shield Ram: Charge at the enemy with shield raised and ram into it with everything she's got.

Shield crushed: With the rim of her heavy shield, she swings it into her enemy.

Snare and Rip: Stabs into the enemy's hide with the hook tip of machete and tears it along enemy's flesh.
