Name: Tab Westin (Though known by some as Tab 'Red Slaughter' Westin)

Physical Description: Stands at about a height of 6’0, and has a rather lithe and lean build. He has a slight amount of a tone to his muscles, but overall it’s very faint, as a person would need to be quite close to notice it. This has never bothered him though, as it helps him employ his fighting style all the more effectively. He sports unkempt brown hair on top of his head, but otherwise keeps the back and the sides trimmed short. His eyes are a piercing and strong light blue hue. He sports three very distinctive scars as a reminded to his near slip ups or deaths. One of the scars he bears is a very dull purple scar down from the left side of his neck to the bottom from, just under his adams apple. Another scar is a big blotted circle on his right shoulder blade from when he was honing his reflexes to deflect arrows with his blade, a feat that he can do from a distance, but still has yet to master point blank. The other scar he bears is a scar travelling from his right shoulder blade, across his back to the left side on the small of his back. This scar gives him issues at times, and though he’s learned to block out the pain in battle, it will occasionally give him a stinging reminder that he needs to sit down and take a break. His skin is a rather darker peach tinge, considering that as of late, he has found himself much reason to be outdoors instead of inside.
Personality: While in combat, he’s very quiet and reserved, completely focused on the task at hand and completing it. When someone he cares is in danger or threatened however, it provides a mild distraction, making him more susceptible to an attack until he dispels the threat on said cared for person.
Outside of battle, he’s the complete opposite with people, loud and sometimes considered to be obnoxious and straight forward. To begin with, this was more or less to cover up his actual emotions in regards to his past, and while that still holds true to a huge extent, it has become more and more who he actually is, as he becomes comfortable with it. He has a strong dislike for whoever attempts harm against women or children, and sees himself as someone who must protect them, or people in need.
Bio: Born into a commoner’s family, at the tender age of five, he was made to work in his father’s butcher shop, learning how to properly cut animals into different types of cuts, as well as learning how to cook the said cuts. It was a typical life, and Tab was sure he was destined to live a boring and mundane existence forever. This was his thoughts until a rather well known Assassin became a regular customer at the butcher shop. He was simply known As Duelist Darius, renowned for his superb skill with the blade and his ability to avoid capture.
Finding himself more than happy with the quality of service and food he received from the Westin Butcher Shop, and noting how bored Tab always looked, he offered to train Tab in the arts he knew if he could receive product from the shop for free. His Dad was reluctant at first, but after the constant begging from Tab, and the assurance that it was no trouble to Darius, as he was looking to retire from the business anyways, his Dad was inclined to agree, deciding to take a chance on his son not having such a mundane existence.
So with that, for the next many years, Tab was trained in the arts of dueling and assassination. The training consumed Tab, mind, body and soul, and he only sought to improve himself and become stronger. This is also when he received the first scar, at the age of twelve when he was learning to deflect arrows with his blade. He had lost his attention when Darius had fired his arrow, with the consequence being that is struck him through his shoulder. This is also where he gained his knowledge of the medical arts, as Darius made sure to nurse him back to health, showing him exactly how to treat certain wounds, and create poultices and properly separate wounds from bacteria, which Tab picked up quickly. Over the years, Tab became to see Darius as a second father to him, and Darius began to feel a paternal bond with Tab as he continued to hone Tab into a dangerous mold. Finally, at the age of sixteen, Darius had taught him everything he could. It wasn’t a moment too soon, as mere days after, the East Army came calling, drafting Tab to the army.
He could hardly feel cheated, as there were plenty that were younger in the army. As a matter of fact, he felt quite lucky having received the training that he had, and he felt psyched about the possibilities of testing his abilities. As the war raged on, he proved himself to be overqualified for the front lines, and realizing his abilities, he was eventually sent on assassination missions, having to quickly take out priority targets from whichever nation. This was where he received his second scar, the one across his neck.
After years of this conflict, and at the age of twenty three, the war had ended. Tab had succeeded in a multitude of missions, and was feeling a high off of the blood he had spilled. He wanted more. So with that, he joined a small group of soldiers that would find any way necessary to continue the violence in a legal matter. This would only continue for a few months, when his ideals would change forever.
After killing the father of a family, they came across the mother and two children, huddled in the corner of a modest room. Tab was given the go ahead to strike down the family, as they had dodged their taxes and offended a noble family in the market. As Tab raised his blade to cut down the family, he caught the eyes of the mother and the children, begging him to spare them. The children had begun to cry in their fear. This plea, for the first time, held Tab’s blade back from striking, as he began to see the injustice he had inflicted, and how very wrong he was. The soldiers demanded that he finish the job, but he in turn demanded that they simply leave the family as they were. The soldier in turn insisted that he would do so instead. However, when he raised his blade against the family, Tab made the decision to go against everything that he had been, and he had turned back, killing the soldier before he could strike down the family. The other four soldiers who were with them immediately attacked Tab, but with Tab’s abilities as compared to their own, the battle had quickly ended, Tab’s Katanas tinted with the blood of his comrades. This is where he derived the “Slaughter” in his title.
Being at a loss, he had made his way back to Darius’s house, who had aged considerably at this point. Tab was simply looking for advice on where to go with his life. Darius, being who he had been, made the recommendation to simply do his own work, accept and deny any jobs that he wanted to, so that he wouldn’t be put in a predicament that he wouldn’t want to follow through on again. Understanding Darius’s point, he prepared to head out, until a gaggle of soldiers invaded Darius’s home. While they fought valiantly, Darius had aged more than a fair bit, and fell in the battle. This is also where Tab received his third scar across his back, attempting to dodge a multitude of attacks. With simply too many swords however, it was only a matter of time until one had struck him, and did it ever strike him good. Realizing that the odds were against him now, he had no choice but to flee, making his daring escape when jumping off a cliff into a ravine below.
The impact nearly tore him apart as he hit the water, and most times, any other person would have died... but Tab was lucky, and days later, he awoke in a cottage far downstream from where he had made first contact. A simpleton family living off the land had discovered him, and brought him, along with all of his equipment to their humble home, and nursed him back to health. This helped him set in motion his ideals of desiring peace, realizing that the kindness of life needed to be preserved over the injustices of life. After being fully healed, due to not only his skills, but the skills of the family, Tab set off, deciding to not only take jobs that would help wipe away the worst that life to offer, but to also defend people who couldn’t defend themselves. He would attempt to bring joy wherever he could. He would be ready to bloody his blades in the name of peace if need be, and he would always seek to improve his abilities in battle.
As of this moment, Tab finds himself on the southern most point of the East kingdom.
Garb: He carries with him three sets of clothing. During the day, he wears a tightly fitted white v-neck t-shirt with a yellow leaf design adorning the upper half of the shirt, though to see said design, you’d need to get in close. He also sports a pair of loosely fitted khaki shorts. During the night, he switches his white shirt into a black, long sleeve tightly fitted shirt and a pair of black denim pants. He always wears a pair of ankle length black combat boots, and always sports a handmade leather utility belt around his waist. When in battle at night, he wears a pair of goggles with red lens that glow in the dark. At night, this is used as a psychological scare tactic to give him the upper hand, though during the day, this is meant to symbol of recognition to those who may know of him, the red of the goggles being where that part of his title stems from.
Inventory: As he is very proficient with bladed weapons, he carries two Katana swords, which are crafted with bright golden hilts and stored in leather sheaths with an internal steel lining, slung across his back as his main set of weapons. He carries with him four knives. He carries two combat knives with leather grips, customized to his hands, in leather sheaths on his utility belt, perfect for combat if need be, and in his ankle high combat boots, he carries two hunting knives in a compartment accessible from the heel. He carries four pouches on his utility belt to go along with the knives. Two of the pouches are adorned with medical supples. One of those said pouches is stored with medical bandages, and the other pouch is stored with an ointment for external injuries, and a liquid medicine for pain relief. His third pouch houses a multitude of throwing stars, in case mid ranged combat is required. His last pouch is stored with a multitude of pellet sized smoke bombs, used for situations in which he needs to make a quick escape
