As I have a host of silk-spinning little spider horde hanging about still, I don't think spiders are that bad. They add a certain something to the thread. I'm not sure fire is the answer.

The last time fire was involved the tiny couch I liked most was destroyed and - Oi! *Swats the couch cannibal with a rolled up newspaper.*

See, thats the good thing with spiders. They don't eat other spiders, most of the time

Depends on the species. There are at least two types I'm aware of that regularly hunt other spiders.
