Lemme just bum my character from my failed ES game.
Name: Azarah. Redguard customs tend to leave out surnames. Occasionally known in and around the area of the town Corinthe in Elswyr as Azarah the Sun-Blessed.
Race: Breton/Redguard Mix; Visually and physically a Redguard.
Age: 37.
Gender: Female.
P.o.B: Stros M'Kai.
Occupation: Soldier-for-Hire, Mercenary, Sellsword. All interchangeable.
Appearance: Azarah is a tall woman, standing at just over 6 feet. Her skin is a deep brown, a contrast to her striking grey eyes. Her hair is shoulder length, black as night with a few streaks of grey interwoven and curls into ringlets. In battle she'll bind it behind her head into a mane's tail, though a strand tends to hang in front of her face. Her lifestyle keeps her greatly athletic, with lean, well defined muscle. Her face and body are covered in numerous scars from her 20 years as a sellsword, each with their own story, that she may or may not share with inquisitive minds. Her visible scars include many small nicks and cuts on her face, with a longer one starting at her lip and barely missing her right eye.
Equipment: She fights with dual scimitars that once belonged to her parents. They are relatively longer and thinner than most, and made of rare Yokudan Steel. In case of emergencies, she also carries a small knife in her boot. She wears Redguard styled light armor; light, lilac colored, free flowing robes with a shirt of chain draped over, designed to be as non-restrictive as possible. For added defense, she had interlocked some scaled pieces of metal across her chest, stomach, and arms. For casual clothing, she wears a simple, crimson colored shirt, with a black leather vest over, and loose cloth pants. She also carries a small, strong smelling pouch of grounded peppers from Elswyr.
Outside of combat essentials, her pack carries a bottle of fine wine (Surilie Brothers 4E 166, to be exact), a few copies of various travel guides, a map of Tamriel and outlying islands, a journal (currently at volume 7), scented oils for bathing, a small mirror, quill and inkwell, and a small mortar and pestle.
Prime Skills: One-Handed (Emphasis on Dual-Wielding Blades), Hand-to-Hand (Practitioner of Sand-in-the-Wind.)
Secondary Skills: Light Armor, Two Handed (Battlestaves and spears, specifically), Alchemy.
Personality: Azarah, despite being a Sellsword, a job many believe to belong to surly, shady individuals, is quite personable. She open to conversation, story swapping, and drinking with company. Despite her often dirty work, she's very indulgent in the finer things in life, such as wine, perfumes, gourmet foods, the arts, and dresses; when she can afford them. She is quite knowledgeable of various Tamrielic cultures and customs, given her many years traveling, she's very open-minded to a great many ideas. She has a very strong sense of right and wrong, and would and still only take on contracts that she personally agrees with. She's outspoken and brash, and speaks what she feels. Religiously, Azarah does not worship the Nine Divine, but instead holds to the Redguard pantheon; Specifically Leki, the Redguard Goddess of Swordsmanship. As such, she wears a small pendent of Leki around her neck.
Background: Born 4E 169 to Iziria, a member of the Legion, and Alix Montrose, a Breton rogue, Azarah was only a baby when the Great War broke out. Iziria went of, and survived the war. Azarah was four when she returned, and barely knew her, but when the Empire signed the White-Gold Concordant, which gave a large portion of Southern Hammerfell to the Dominion, Iziria deserted, leaving her post and becoming a freedom fighter with Alix. Both were dead by the time Azarah was 11, and the Second Treaty of Stros M'Kai was signed, ending the Redguard's rebellion. Azarah was sent to live with a Nordic family who were friends with her parents, who trained her for six years in the arts of combat, along with their own daughter. Her parents' blades were returned to her when she was 14, and she trained day and night with one in each hand. At the tender age of 17, she left the Nordic family and began her life as a Sellsword.
She first became interested in martial arts when she was 23. She had traveled to Elswyr, and took a job wiping out a local cell of skooma dealers. Dealing with the deals was trivial enough, but when she faced the leader, she was disarmed of her blades by the khajiit, who happened to be a monk. The battle was fierce and the monk slashed at her stomach, nearly tearing her innards out. The mistake was getting that close, as Azarah grappled him to the ground and drove a her boot knife into his eye.
Found by the local, she was healed within a month, but she had been impressed with the skill of the monk who fought with his clawed hands. She had traveled back to Hammerfell to learn a local art. She journeyed to a monastery deep in the Alik'r, and trained with the monks there, who also taught her to fight with a spear and staff.
When she was 26, she and around a thousand other mercenaries were hired by the Great House Redoran of Morrowind to comb and scavenge the Ash-Wastes of the ruined Vvardenfell for lost artifacts belonging to the House. In the seventh week, her party was beset by a large bandit raiding party. Most of her party was killed, and she herself was wounded by a greatsword slash to her back. She awoke two weeks later, having been found by kindly Ashlanders and healed.
She was in Skyrim when the Civil War broke out, and with the borders closed, she was unable to leave. She, along with a few other sellswords, found work as freelance skirmishers and scouts for the Empire. The Great War had left them low on men, and were forced to turn to mercenaries. She was involved in the Battle of Fort Neugrad. After the battle, she left the auxiliary forces and enjoy much work killing bandits who had taken advantage of the lessened security of the country.
Her travels have now taken her to High Rock, and news that the Storm Breaker, a vessel of which mercenaries were welcome. Knowing sailing was in Redguard blood, she quickly decided the experience would be valuable.
