    Default Poetry and Such

I need to get back into writing regularly. When I was in the habit of it before (feels like ages ago now), poetry came most naturally to me. I wasn't pleased with everything I wrote, but a lot of it was extremely helpful for releasing the anxieties and self-critiquing that I tend to stuff as deeply internal as possible. I vent about the little things often, but guard my darkest demons and most crippling insecurities with my life. This is kind of ironic, because those which I hide are the emotions that actually hold real danger. I don't mean to sound dramatic, but if I keep serious stress pent up for too long, the explosions of release get... ugly. To avoid that, I'm going to try to force myself to write again. *glares at hand, shakes it in attempt to wake up muse*

I'll start with typing up some of my older stuff to help get the creative juices going, but am currently writing bits and pieces here and there. I will post new stuff as soon as I deem it worthy. Hopefully my babbling doesn't make you groan too much!

Spoiler: A list, because those are helpful.

I'm having trouble finding my notebook full of old poetry. :( I hope it turns up, but will post some new stuff soon either way.

It's still a work in progress, but it's nice to finally have at least one draft out. I've needed to write this for awhile.

This one is extremely personal, so please no hate on the subject matter. I don't mind (actually, I encourage!) critiquing of the actual writing itself, but please, please, please no harshness about one of the most difficult decisions I've ever had to make.

Your letter has inspired my own poem basically based around the thought of losing a child. I hope you don't find it at all disrespectful.

"My thoughts dance at what you could have been
If a full life you had been given

Oh joys that you could have had
Oh the things that mad you sad
All the pains that scar your soul
All the love that made you whole
And the family I could have raised
I would have been so amazed

    It's a thought I cannot forget
I find my heart filled by regret"

I was really pleased with some of my later entries to the Writers' Marathon this RPApril. Writing at least 250 words per day certainly has its benefits! Now comes the process of transferring some of those pieces here so they're easier for me to find, starting with this:

I edited this one quite a bit, but am still not entirely happy with it.

    Cups, a window, your own phone;
    While enraged, you broke everything.
Why did I think you'd be more careful with my heart?
